ASK GAME
I got two Wii Remotes in a bowl of soapy water, disassembled. Cleaning them out because the previous owner left the batteries in, and they corroded so badly that the motherboard has issues I need to fix 😔 But! While I work on the boards, I've scrubbed all the plastic bits, and now they're getting their spa treatment in the bowl whilst I work on my vinegar solution to clean this corrosion.

(Anko)
“ Uh…excuse me! I heard word that there was a Shrine Maiden, here, that had games on hand? I uh…I came in from the place outside of here, a few days ago, and I just wanted to know if I was the only person who uh…didn’t live here, since birth, or something… “
She brought along her backpack, which contained all of her necessities, such as her monitor, PC, Switch, and a whole bunch of snacks and sodas (in a separate pouch, of course)
(To Sanae)
Tumblr media
"Come on, King Arthur, give me a good opening already!" Oh, she's playing Sonic and the Black Knight at the moment.
She wasn't paying attention to Anko as she was swinging her Wii Remote around like a sword, big swings and all. The effectiveness of this varied since the Wii Remote isn't supposed to be swung around this much. Especially a standard Wii Remote with no MotionPlus technology built in.
...She's probably allowed in though.

Ota & Iwata on temperature drift for the Wii MotionPlus, 2009.
Source: Iwata Asks
https://www.notion.so/b84e83e6ba56468282e47386ef4d0975
PEOPLE:
Keizo Ota. Programming support on Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. SDK Developer for Wii MotionPlus.
Satoru Iwata, age 49. President of Nintendo.
QUOTE: "Ota: The sensitivity of the [Wii MotionPlus] gyro sensor's detection ability could be adversely affected by changes in the surrounding temperature. … Normally, if something is not in motion, the data being sent back should read zero. But in the case of the gyro sensor, even when it's perfectly still, data that reads one or two will start to be sent back after a while.
Iwata: So although no one is touching it, it's behaving as if it were in motion.
Ota: The technical term for this phenomenon is ‘temperature drift.’ … It's not just temperature that can do it: humidity or sudden impacts can have the same effect."

9. Which game has your favorite soundtrack? What are your favorite songs from it?
i am being BULLIED >:(
let's see... more tracks... ah! truth (shadows of valentia), thorn in you (both versions) (fates), premonition (fates), don't speak her name (awakening), falling petals (engage), companions (blazing blade)
10. What is your favorite weapon type? Have a favorite weapon?
as of fe3h I love gauntlets. I also like knives and daggers! my favourite weapons are probably the killer ones/wo dao, etc.
18. Do you have any special stories related to the series?
um... the only one that comes to mind right this moment is that when my friend lent me Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, what she actually lent me was Path of Radiance, and Skyward Sword in Radiant Dawn's box. I played Skyward Sword for a bit and absolutely hated it, I had such a hard time with the controls. I didn't have a wiimote plus so I guess that was the problem, I just had one of the guys with a motionplus attached to it. I remember being stuck for ages at a part where you just have to lift your sword above your head? anyway that's not fire emblem. I ended up modding my wii so that I could play a pirated version of radiant dawn instead. it crashed often so it was fortunate that even on normal difficulty you can still save during battles.

I know American healthcare is bad and all, but Zoomers really need to stop acting like their average life expectancy is like 25 and anything beyond that means you're basically blind in one eye and senile and rambling about the good old days like holy shit what is going on with y'all
anyway I used to play a Vectrex at my grandpa's house. we were still using Wiimotes on the last gen. You know, that thing between the Wii and the Switch?? It still used those. The Switch is the first thing after the Wii to not use those. Yours even has motionplus you doofus, that's one of the newer ones.

Why Nintendo Wii Accessories Are Worth the Investment
The Nintendo Wii, since its release in 2006, has remained a beloved gaming console, celebrated for its innovative motion controls and extensive library of games. Over the years, the Wii has gained a loyal following, partly due to its unique accessories that enhance the gaming experience. In this article, we explore why investing in Nintendo Wii accessories is a wise choice, both for avid gamers and casual players alike.
Tumblr media
Enhancing Gameplay with Motion Controls
One of the standout features of the Nintendo Wii is its motion-sensing capabilities, which revolutionized how games are played. The Wii Remote, often referred to as the "Wiimote," allows players to interact with games in a way that feels natural and intuitive. Whether you're swinging a tennis racket, steering a car, or casting a fishing line, the Wiimote translates real-world actions into on-screen movements, creating an immersive gaming experience.
However, the magic of the Wii Remote is amplified with the addition of accessories like the Wii MotionPlus. This attachment enhances the Wiimote's sensitivity and accuracy, making movements more precise. For games that require intricate motion control, such as "The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword," the Wii MotionPlus is indispensable, providing a level of control that standard controllers simply can't match.
Broadening the Horizon with Game-Specific Accessories
Beyond enhancing motion controls, the Nintendo Wii boasts a variety of game-specific accessories that can elevate your gameplay. Take the Wii Wheel, for instance. Designed for racing games, this accessory transforms the Wiimote into a steering wheel, offering a more realistic driving experience in games like "Mario Kart Wii." Similarly, the Wii Zapper, a gun-shaped accessory, adds a layer of immersion to shooter games, allowing players to aim and fire with greater authenticity.
Moreover, the Wii Balance Board opens up a whole new realm of possibilities. Originally packaged with "Wii Fit," this accessory tracks your balance and weight, enabling a range of fitness activities and games. From yoga and strength training to fun balance games, the Wii Balance Board makes exercising enjoyable and accessible.
Catering to a Wide Audience
The Nintendo Wii's appeal extends beyond traditional gamers. Its intuitive controls and diverse accessory lineup make it accessible to players of all ages and skill levels. Families can enjoy multiplayer games together, with each member finding something that suits their interests. For instance, while younger players might be entertained by games like "Wii Sports," which utilize basic motion controls, older players can dive into more complex titles that benefit from advanced accessories.
Furthermore, the Wii's fitness games and accessories like the Wii Balance Board have made it a popular choice for individuals looking to incorporate physical activity into their daily routine. According to a study published in the Journal of Physical Therapy Science, using the Wii Balance Board for exercise can improve balance and coordination, making it a valuable tool for rehabilitation and fitness.
Long-Term Value
Investing in Nintendo Wii accessories isn't just about enhancing the current gaming experience; it's also about long-term value. These accessories are designed with durability in mind, ensuring they stand the test of time. Even years after their initial purchase, many Wii accessories remain functional and relevant, particularly as the console maintains its popularity among retro gaming enthusiasts.
Additionally, the versatility of Wii accessories extends their usability. Many of these accessories are compatible with the Wii's successor, the Wii U, allowing for continued enjoyment even as gaming technology evolves. This backward compatibility means that an investment in Wii accessories today can continue to provide value in the future.
Fun Factor
Let's not forget the sheer fun factor that Nintendo Wii accessories bring to the table. The console's unique design encourages creative gameplay that often leads to laughter and memorable moments. Whether you're trying to outdo your friends in a heated game of "Wii Sports Tennis" or balancing precariously on the Wii Balance Board, the joy and entertainment these accessories provide are unparalleled.
In fact, some accessories have inspired creative uses beyond their intended purpose. For example, the Wii Wheel has been repurposed by some crafty players as a steering wheel for driving simulators on other platforms, demonstrating the ingenuity and adaptability of Wii accessories.

Conclusion: SumoShopStore – Your One-Stop Shop for Nintendo Wii Accessories
In conclusion, investing in Nintendo Wii accessories is a decision that pays dividends in enhanced gameplay, broader audience appeal, and long-term value. For those looking to expand their Wii accessory collection, SumoShopStore offers a wide range of high-quality options to choose from. Features of settings for Motion-Compensated Frame Interpolation when connecting the TV to a PC
Tumblr media
Correct settings when connecting the TV to a PC significantly affect the playback quality. Basically, they depend on the algorithm of video signal processing. Usually, modern LCD TVs of the middle price range provide a frequency of up to 100-200 Hz. An increase in frequency is achieved by interpolation of frames. But companies use different names for this technology. For example, this technology is called True Motion in LG TVs, Motion Plus in Samsung TVs, Perfect Natural Motion in Philips TVs or Real Cinema in Panasonic TVs.
Operation principle
The TV receives input signals with a frequency, for example, 50 Hz, forms an additional intermediate frame from two adjacent frames and then plays back all frames, including the newly formed one.
Tumblr media
Accordingly, the frequency increases, for example, to 100 Hz. This process is called anti-aliasing and ensures smooth and realistic video playback. Interpolation algorithm reproduces incoming frames with a delay, calculating the offset difference between neighboring frames to create its own intermediate image. CPU calculates scene, object displacement, background and other parameters with the help of appropriate algorithms and creates frame on the basis of these parameters. It's designed to smoothing the transition between neighboring frames at the entrance. This effect becomes noticeable at panoramic shooting with offset of background. The intermediate frame reduces this offset between frames. Interpolation provides the smoother playback, increasing it by 2-4 times.
Playback with PC video card
PC has a video card with a HDMI yield. The maximum frequency of transmission for HDMI cable is 60 Hz in 1080p resolution. Most modern digital movies typically have a frequency ~ 24 frames / second. The video card of PC also generates an intermediate image with the help of video CPU and software. This process is as follows. PC increases a frequency with 24 Hz to 50 Hz. After that, the image is directed to the TV input. TV is trying increase the frequency up to 100 Hz. As a result, the image on the screen starts to "float". It accelerates, slows down or "hangs" for a second. Of course, viewing video in this mode is very inconvenient. The problem is double video processing. Processing algorithms on PC and TV are not synchronized that leads to a chaotic sequence of their work.
Decision
Turning off anti-aliasing in the TV at first glance seems like an obvious solution to this problem. But the TV creates an image with a frequency of 100 Hz, and the computer’s video card only provides up to 50 Hz. Thus, disabling an image processing on a computer is more efficient. This is done as follows. The auto-tuning function of the image frequency at the output of the player is switched. This option ensures that the output frequency matches the original video file frequency. In this mode, the player determines the frame rate at the input (24 Hz) and automatically converts the HDMI video output at this frequency. As a result, the TV receives a video stream at a rate of 24 frames per second without preliminary processing. The anti-aliasing mode on the TV provides image playback without jerks and braking. This method is great for video playback. But the interface and the program will work slowly because of switching the image frequency to 24 Hz. This setting is performed by the videoplayer (for example, the XBMC-player has this function) or using an autofrequency program.

Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction - This is probably my second-favorite R&C game, as it leads up to A Crack in Time. Still, I didn't find it quite as fun or compelling, story-wise.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Both of the Galaxy games were really good and really fun, though if I'm being honest they kind of blend together in my mind, and I can't remember what was in which game ^^' Was this the one where you could reverse gravity and walk on the ceiling? That was fun.
The Last Express - Aww, has nobody played this? :( It's a classic! A mystery on a train! Reminiscent of Murder on the Orient Express! Using time travel and set routines of the characters to figure out the mystery! A plethora of colorful characters who all have their own stories and suspicious motivations! A specimen of rarely-used rotoscoping for animation in a video game! Made by the guy who made the original Prince of Persia! I thought it was fun, anyway.
Reading Blaster 2000 - This is one of my main childhood favorites <3 Set in the same universe as the Math Blaster games, but about reading instead of numbers...I mean, what's not to like? You play in a competition to see...who's the best reader, I guess? You have to complete various challenges that test your reading abilities, whether that's a matching puzzle, following clues, or even making a commercial that you'll get to watch later on in the game. Ike and Rita, the two-headed host of the show, have so many memorable lines that my siblings and I still quote to this day, like "It's exciting...aaaaaand educational!" ^_^ Best of all, at the end of each competition, you unlock a chapter of a choose-your-own-adventure book featuring the main characters going on one kind of adventure or another. The "dun-dun-DUNNNN!!!!" sound that would play when it said "To Be Continued" used to terrify me, though XD
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - What a fun game! I have to admit, I went in with low expectations because I was underwhelmed by Twilight Princess, but I ended up pleasantly surprised both by how fun and colorful it was, and even by how challenging some parts ended up being. Some things were still a little too weird for me (*cough*Ooccoo*cough*), and I would still rather have gotten around on horseback than on a huge pelican-lookin' bird, but overall it was an enjoyable experience. Especially because the MotionPlus allowed for such better motion-sensing, so it really felt cool to swing the sword around. Also, the final battle against Demise is probably the most epic battle in the whole franchise <3
The Witch's House - Whoa, I'm surprised anybody else has played this! It's an RPG Maker puzzle/horror game where you play as a girl who ventures into a witch's house in the middle of the forest and has to try to make it out alive. You might not think that a pixellated RPG Maker game could be that scary, but it actually was! There were several times I felt the hair rising on the back of my neck and my heart pounding. It's a very atmospheric game. It also had a compelling story that slowly unfolds as you go deeper and deeper into the house.
Xenogears - Huh, I didn't expect this one to win! It's not really unknown or anything, but I don't generally come across people who've played it, even if they're fans of JRPGs. Xenogears is such a mixed bag for me. The first disc was really good (with the usual caveats of mid-90s JRPG nonsense XD), with a compelling story full of twists and characters I really liked (I especially liked Fei's particular brand of angst, because it reminded me of a character of mine I was writing at the time), beautiful graphics, and gorgeous music by Yasunori Mitsuda. But then the second disc just kind of dissolved into barely-intelligible complications and really lazy shortcuts like the developers had run out of time or money. On top of that, the anti-Christian sentiment that is unfortunately common in a lot of Japanese storytelling became more noxious than just about any other game I've played, and I lost patience with it, using cheats just so I could see how things ended :/
Warcraft 3 - Actually the only Warcraft game I've played ^^' I adored this game back in the day, and still quite like it. Sure, you can say it's derivative of LotR and Warhammer. No, I don't like what they did with Arthas' character or how no one is allowed to be very happy for very long because you have to keep on having wars or there's no franchise anymore. But there's just something I really like about the setting, the feel of Azeroth. The art style is fun, the music is great, and the developers have a delightful sense of humor that's present throughout the game. Also, I played this game right at the peak of my LotR fandom, while the movies were still coming out, so to me what they did with the Orcs was completely revolutionary. I was astonished when I realized that Thrall was my favorite character, when normally I would think of Orcs as being 100% evil and gross. And, while I can't say they're high literature or anything, I really like all of the tie-in novels I've read, especially Lord of the Clans.
Arbitrarily-Chosen Video Game Tournament, Round 1.12
Welcome to the Arbitrarily-Chosen Video Game Tournament, where we will find out which of the games I've played is the best game of all time!
