I'm expecting a time skip where Elliot and Angela are married are probably have kids and are all happy and I'm not ready for that

I never know what to expect from this show so I really hope I'm wrong

I love unreliable narrators. In the very first episode of mr robot you are told repeatedly that Elliot has delusions and hallucinates people and yet despite that you still believe Mr Robot is real because Elliot treats him that way (because he believes he is too). I like that it sort of makes Elliot's delusions the audience's delusions too

I like to think that the siblings didn't even llan their first counselling session with Mr Mazzara.

They jusr walk into robotics club and nobody's there except for Mazzara sat ominously at his desk.

Jet: ...What the fuck.

Maddox: Where is everyone?

Mr. Mazzara: You see, this is what happens when you don't schedule a session despite clearly needing one. I plan it for you.

Maddox does a 180 and books it, only to be carried back 4 minutes later in EJ arms.

EJ drops her into a chair and hunches over huffing: how can someone with such little legs move so fast...

Maddox: this feels like a serious security issue.... strange man off the street in the building....

EJ: can it, Gadget, you're doing this. Yo, Mr Mazzara? Good luck! She got to the parking lot.

Mr. Mazzara: please, take a seat.

Finished my Mr. Robot rewatch the other night... thoughts

First of all like. God this show fucking rules. It may not be my most favorite show or the show I have the most to say about, but I think it may be the most consistently high-quality show I've ever watched. They had a vision, they knew the story they wanted to tell, and they executed on it and barely ever dropped the ball.

The only thing that I liked significantly less this time was honestly some of the political commentary, and that's more due to the ~changing times~ than the show itself. The grand conspiracy stuff, all the parts about how a shadowy group (led by a Chinese government official) controlled the world and installed autocrats and owned governments, it all just reads very differently post-COVID. Obviously there were conspiracy theories in 2015-2019, but it feels like the show validates them in a way that's kind of uncomfortable now that they're so much more mainstream.

I also am a lot more familiar with DID than I was the first time I watched, so I had a better handle on what exactly was happening between all of Elliot's personalities. The finale, which I remembered being good but somewhat confusing, was much more clear - Mr Robot and Krista pretty much sit down and Explain It All To You, and while the show doesn't use terms like "fronting" and "integration," having that general knowledge made things very understandable. This is a show that learned from the mistakes of Lost (a show that I love deeply) - they make it VERY clear in the last episode which parts are real and which aren't, that what happened in the show actually happened and while there's room for a little ambiguity, it doesn't affect what was real and what wasn't.

I mentioned in another post that I love how every character is a freak, and I stand by that analysis, but I have to emphasize it in particular for the women on this show. The women are so interesting and well-written and fully-realized, and a lot of that comes from the contrast between their strengths and their weaknesses. I love that Darlene puts up a cold front and pushes people away because she's insecure but she's desperately looking for someone to trust. I love that Angela is her foil, someone who's trusting to the point of constantly people-pleasing and being manipulated and tries to make space for her own needs. I love that Dom is a relentless investigator whose brain is always working in overdrive, to the point where she's an absolute train wreck in private, who can't sleep and can't make friends and barely has time to eat or clean. I could go on for every character in the whole show, of all genders, but women are so often neglected in shows like this that it's great to see them full-fledged.

Elliot's closing monologue really got me this time; I've been having a bit of a rough time brain-wise so a good dose of "even when you mess up and make bad decisions and push people away, you are still worthy of love and happiness and the world is changed just by having you in it" was something I really needed to hear tbh. I really love Elliot's character, and especially that he has this optimistic streak that feels so rare for a generally very dark show. Even when his more proximate motivation is revenge or anger, he does everything while believing that he can improve the world, that everyone deserves to be happy and free.

Anyway! I don't have a good way to wrap this up lol, long rambly meta over. I feel like I've drifted away from actually posting meta/general analysis/personal thoughts here because I'm pretty uninterested in engaging in The Discourse, but that just means I end up writing in my Google docs and no one ever sees it, so I might try to start posting more of this stuff again.

— includes flashbacks the fall of e-corp in the 1990s to flesh out mr. alderson a little, like what was he working on before he got fired? how does whiterose know or care? seriously I want to know!

— a few glimpses to the "real" elliot's childhood growing up (a la the opening flashback from 2x04 or 2x01), maybe from darlene or angela's pov, complete w/retrospective voiceover

— all the actors reprise their roles in a style where they would record prior to animating (to keep in spirit with the original format) kinda like how the original dub of beastars worked

Mr Robot season 4 episode 10 spoilers

Shoutout to this show for giving us closure after the main conflict ended

And not even just a single episode with a timeskip where we don't see firsthand any development, a meaningful look at and step forward for two main characters with a complicated relationship and even more trauma

When I saw the title was "Gone" I expected an episode dedicated to Elliot and Mr Robot and probably Mr Robot having a "my work here is done" moment. BUT IT WASN'T. IT WAS ABOUT DARLENE AND DOM AND I'VE NEVER BEEN MORE PROUD OF THIS SHOW

These two have such a complicated relationship and I really wasn't expecting any kind of conclusion to it, but when presented with this episode's plot I really wanted the two of them to go together. But I never realized the ending would be so much more satisfying after the entire episode heavily focused on Dom's stubbornness to leave and Darlene's fear of being by herself.

The two are getting what they need the most and unfortunately it's not each other, but they're going to be better because of it

I don't think this is queerbait (I mean it's literally not right?) it is upsetting to see a Sapphic couple be separated like this but I do think the intention was pure. These characters are so much more than just a lesbian couple so at the very least I'm glad they were never treated that way in the show

We were honestly so lucky Mr.Robot was created for a TV network. The likes of Netflix would've cancelled it after the second season.

The whiterose episode of Mr.Robot wtf?????? ?? I saw the sister thing coming because they somehow gave me sibling vibes anyway but the dad????? HELLO?? How were they dropping bombs like this in only the first season omg.

finally trying to finish mr. robot 8 (!!) years after starting it. my god, this show. can do a full episode of no dialogue and have me yelling at the screen in pure anxiety

Today while watching the tv series “Mr. Robot”, I have been making a bracelet with the same of the series. I’ve finished the last two episodes of season 3 and now started watching Season 4 at 10am till now.
