I also love how its designs are all literally just two storage boxes glued together, some random toy parts stuck on it, a splash of paint and blackwash, and AC ducts for legs. $2 cosplay that works great
Star Wars is truly at its peak when the droids are practical and semi-shitty looking which is honestly just to say that I get an instant boost of serotonin when a gonk droid shows up

Look at this thing it sucks and I love it

Iterator OCs!! Love them so much lol, I made these for my little hypothetical RW comic thing :D
They exist far, far away from the canon RW regions, so they have little to no connections with the iterators there.
Anyways, the sillies!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Spiral of Dreams (she/they) is an authority figure of sorts in the local group. She is a perfectionist and very stubborn but generally means well. Although she disapproves of Eight Blooming Petals' carefree (and frankly, reckless) experimenting with plants or Unstable Connections' critter research, she doesn't try to stop them because it makes them happy. She often occupied herself with creating little trinkets for decorations or sending out overseers to scout the land. They don't understand what EBP's fascination with plants or UC's fondness with little critters are about but lets them be anyways. They are too busy discovering new, far away things anyways. They speak very formally, and she doesn't really have a sense of humor, but she is generally means well.
Eight Blooming Petals (they/he) was once an iterator tasked with recording and collecting data for the plants of their surroundings. Although his creators are long gone, he still loves his job and takes it very seriously, often forgetting to communicate with others as he buried himself in his work. Despite this, he is a relatively friendly fella, often rambling about his newest discovery to whatever grants him the time of day, whether it is a slugcat, a stray wandering creature, or Unstable Connection. Their superstructure, both inside and outside, are covered in plant matter. Loves pole mimics but doesn't like the fact that they eat his other creations, so they created a species of pole mimics that eats batflies instead. They dislike batflies with a burning passion because he find their buzzing and squeaking overwhelming so they wouldn't mind their tamed versions of the carnivorous plants eating them. In fact, they grow batnip specifically near the pole mimics so they can feed the plants without having to manually drop batflies near them. They often pause and go on long, unrelated tangents about whatever they are thinking at that moment. They are also really easily distracted, especially when they have a project in mind.
Unstable Connection (they/them) is an iterator abandoned by their creator because of some imperfections within their systems. They have trouble communicating with other iterators, so instead they turned towards the little creatures that lives near its superstructure. Friends with the nearby slugcat colony and scavenger tribe. The scavs named them "Pearl" and they liked it enough to stick with that name whenever they introduce themselves afterwards. They are more used to speaking to the small creatures that runs around their superstructure than communicating with iterators at this point. They are close with Eight Blooming Petals, often sharing their findings with him and listening to his endless rambles. They speak very casually because their usual audience are critters who could not care less about the formality of things. Uses more body language than most iterators because it's easier to communicate with the creatures this way.
:D

A warning to my friends and mutuals:
I do steal people's vocabulary mannerisms and typing habits. I will steal yours. It is already happening. Your speech patterns are being stolen as we speak.

So glad for legends of avantris, they've inspired me to much to make art. I haven't drawn like I have been the last few weeks, like, ever in my life. I'm finally doing some digital art, it's been a long time and I'm still bad, but I'm more comfortable and ready to finish something for once.
I have a gricko and torbek piece I'm dedicated to right now because they are literally just my Goober brain. Gricko has wriggled his way into my speech patterns and I think in both of their voices now (this happens all the time, dw guys). I have like 6 other pieces I want to start, I'm doodling in my sketchbook, I've got a notebook for when I get a slow minute at work. It's great. I'm such a yapper, literally no one cares, lol, but i love my fellow goobers

My clairvoyance told me... that this 'blogging' thing could be fun! So Sabi's come to play, of course! You won't bore me, will you? I've already had visions of all the great games we could play, you know! Hmmm, so strange, time travelling... I hadn't seen that with my clairvoyance! As long as I can still have fun though, it doesn't matter to me! Yup, I could get used to this being-in-the-future thing, methinks! Well, I'd be in it eventually anyways, wouldn't I? I'm just here a little earlier than expected, that's all! How funny that thought is, right? Oh, I do wonder if the Braviary of now are any different! Perhaps that's enough talking for now, though! So... The real question is, will you play with me, or won't you ~ ? [OOC under cut]
Sabi my dearly beloved... my precious daughter.... wanted to try a new canon character and I knew it had to be her... So transported to modern day the child has been! The only Pokemon she has with her is a Hisuian Braviary. Since it's relatively ambiguous in-game if she really is or isn't clairvoyant/psychic, I've decided for this blog that she is, she just likes to mess with people LOL. Not a very strong psychic mind you, since she's still a little kid, but they are there and she is steadily growing into them. I also haven't concluded an exact age for her, but I'd say somewhere between 9 to 11 years. Alao personal headcanon that she frequently alternates between first and third person speech, and generally has a bunch of unusual speech patterns/quirks you'll see frequently in her posts :) She is very silly goober and just wants to have fun my little babie girl!!! Anywho thats all I got right now, I'll add anything else as I think of it I suppose and just make stuff up as I go LOL run by @/michellekyura, all interactions allowed, no NSFW or suggestive stuff she is literally a child as stated above, should be all for now!

What is a fun fact about one (or more) of your ocs :3c i would love to hear more abt your goobers...
i’ll do my cr ocs for this! :>
Honey Skein:
-Although not a ‘true’ dragon (merely a lesser draconic beast, like pre-transformation Snakefruit), their draconic blood means Honey has a compulsion to hoard precious things - in their case, it’s valuable threads, fabrics, dyes, appliques, baubles, and so on.
Cherry Crescent:
-Despite being an absolute square who would never deign to think of ever breaking the law, Cressie does have an odd hobby - lockpicking. Xe’s just fascinated by the mechanisms of locks, keys and keyholes. The silver key xe always wears around xir neck is an old Director’s key - a family heirloom.
Laminated Bread:
-Lammy inherited his mom’s gentle nature and his father’s tendency to come across as sort of creepy - unblinking stares, stilted mannerisms, cryptic speech patterns. He certainly means well, but many newcomers to the TRD find it sort of alarming to find him stalking around the archives at odd hours.
Kouignette:
-In addition to their skill in brewing potions and the like, Kouign is a good cook; their mom probably insisted they be taught from a pretty early age. As a kid, they loved making bathtub soap concoctions and bucket ‘potions’ with dirt and sticks and flowers.

The Daycare Attendant and Their Dialogue
A little ramble on some of the things I've noticed about their ways of speaking. This post ended up being predominantly about how they refer to one another. Most of this is speculation mixed in with my own views on them and their relationship, without discarding some other possible alternatives (for instance, although I do view them as two AIs that heavily rely on each other to function properly, I do not cast aside the interpretation that they are the same person).
(note: although I have played SB and Ruin, I did not play HW2 myself. All I know about that game has been through let's plays).
Sun is, obviously, the chattier of the two. Not only are his sentences longer, he speaks more of them in a row than Moon does - in fact, we only see Moon going on and on in Ruin (which we will discuss later).
Both of them use a lot of repetitions when speaking. From their infamous "clean up, clean up" line, to Sun's panicked "you like glitter glue? I have glitter glue!" and "light's on! Light's on! Keep the generators on!", to Moon's "hidey hide, hide away" and "bad children must be punished. Bad children must be found", "knock knock", etc. One of the first things Eclipse says is also a repetition ("warning, warning"). They appear to occasionally rhyme their words too, or at the very least use similar sounds in their sentences. This is a robot that works with young children, so it's not surprising.
On that same vein, their main insult to misbehaving children (and employees... or at least Cassie's dad) is also a repetition: "naughty, naughty" (which turns into "naughty boy" for Gregory), "rulebreaker, rulebreaker", and "bad kid, bad kid". In fact, it appears they repeat words more often when they're mad/stressed (Sun's no no nos, Moon freaking out in Ruin). Taking into account they get mad pretty easily when things don't go their way, it's not surprising we hear it so often, but it's neat.
Although both of them speak in an almost song like manner, with Sun's run on sentences flowing well between one another, Moon is the one where this is more evident due to how much shorter his lines are.
Moon is also the one who speaks in a more childish manner. Not only are his phrases shorter, he doesn't articulate them as much as Sun does, and seems to prefer shorter words and sounds, especially giggles. This makes Sun appear more developed. Key word being appear.
Sun tends to speak as if he's entertaining a crowd, doing his best to keep the attention on himself while trying to keep it fun. This is most evident in his level explanation parts in HW2, but it's also clear in SB. In Ruin, this is absent for... obvious reasons.
Both of them are somehow direct in their way of giving orders/saying what they want to do. When they can't be direct, they find workaround truths in order to conceal what they truly want to say, while keeping the main order clear (such as Sun saying the player will hurt their eyes if they work in the dark and ordering them to keep the lights on, rather than saying Moon will kill them so keep that room bright. Direct, but nicer).
Not at all important to FNAF speech lore but I think it's funny: Sun says the infamous Vanny line during the daycare intro section. "Are you having fun yet? (Are ya, are ya?)". 0.5 seconds after Gregory just stands there, which coincidentally is what Vanny does 0.5 seconds after Gregory gets into a vent (numbers exaggerated). I don't know. I just think it's funny. Replaying the daycare section after hearing Vanny yapping that line non stop gave me flashbacks.
The way they refer to each other and the pronouns they use are an entire thing, so let me separate it in two parts.
So that this post doesn't become scrolling hell on the tags, I'll keep it below the read more line:
Sun
Sun is the one who refers to himself the most. He frequently uses "I" or "me" when talking about himself, and does it way more often than Moon. Examples of this are "I have glitter glue!", "I'm stuck in a nap", "it really speaks to me", "I feel dumber just looking at it" - you get the point by now. The reason I'm going hard on this point is to contrast his way of speaking to Moon's.
When it comes to him referring to Moon, we only ever hear it twice. In HW2 he says "He'll wake up if the lights go out!". In Ruin, he says "Not me, the other me!". Besides those two voice lines, he merely alludes to Moon without ever mentioning him by name or by pronouns (such as when he says he'll turn the lights off himself, implying he'll let Moon deal with you, or when he says you can't work in the dark and instead of saying the real reason as to why, he cuts himself and goes "You'll- hurt your eyes if you work in the dark").
This is interesting for two reasons: one, we only see him directly mention his counterpart when he's in a ruined state (the HW2 voice line comes from the mask off section, when they're broken down. At least I think so); two, he simultaneously views Moon as separate from himself ("he'll wake up") and as a part of himself/another side of himself ("the other me"). You can take that as them really being the same "person", or as a reflection of their complicated body sharing situation. Take it as you will.
As far as referring to himself and Moon at the same time, he only does it in Ruin when he states "We need to be whole".
Moon
The way Moon structures his sentences means that he seldomly actually refers to himself directly. For instance, he doesn't say "I will find you" or "I will punish you", putting himself as the subject of the sentence. Instead, he puts others as the subject, wording it as "Bad children must be found" and "Bad children must be punished". This is consistent across all of his voice lines except one... Well, technically two.
To get it out of the way: there's a deleted voice line where he says "I'm putting you in time out", a line he and Sun share and which worked the same way the clean up one does - them saying the same thing, a push towards them being the same person ordeal.
The only in-game time he refers to himself directly is in Ruin. This line is also the only time he refers to both himself and Sun as a duo. This line is also the longest line of dialogue Moon has.
"(groaning noises) Naughty! Naughty! Make it stop! The light makes us hurt! Grind Grind! Grinding gears inside my head! We can't move. Error! Error!"
This line, much like Sun's, is interesting for various reasons. Even though Sun is no longer with him (being stuck in the VR world and separate from Moon, shown by how Moon can't move because the lights are on but his body can't shift into Sun, so he's completely stuck), he first refers to himself as a "us" - adding Sun into the mix. Then he refers to himself alone, "my head" instead of "ours", before going right back to a plural.
We can assume one of three things here: one, Moon refers to himself as a we more often, adding Sun into the mix, a complete opposite of his counterpart who typically speaks in singulars; or two, Sun is not as absent as he appears and in that moment he is in fact with Moon, just stuck on the passenger sit, hurting alongside him; or three, this is merely an effect of this being in the Ruin DLC where the whole point of the daycare section is to fuse Sun and Moon into the Eclipse, so the writers decided to bring the point home further. If you have more options, feel free to add them.
Side note: This voiceline also shows Moon's speaking patterns pretty well. Putting "the light" as the subject instead of "we/I", the rhyming, the repetition, the clipped sentences compared to Sun's endless ones, the noises, the scratchiness, the vague childlike mannerism... All ending with "we can't move", way more straight to the point, said right before he freezes up, which deviates from the "other subject first then me" rule due to the pain tearing through him at the moment.
Moon does not call Sun "the other me" or anything similar in any of the games. He never refers to Sun as if he too was Sun. However, we can assume his view on their situation probably mirrors Sun's - being in the same body and all -, so take it as you will.
And as for Moon referring to Sun as a separate individual... He does not refer to him as a "he". Instead, he actually mentions his counterpart by name, saying "No more Sun". Meaning he's the only one of the the two that has canonically used his other side's name. I think it's interesting how the least chatty one is the one actually calling the other by name and not the other way around. And yes, you can say it's a way of speaking and he's referring to the concept of the sun rather than saying his name, but taking into consideration Sun never utters the word moon, I'd say it's still quite a big thing.
In my headcanon land, due to the happenings at the Pizzaplex, Sun is probably too embarrassed and mortified to even mention Moon. Moon, on the other hand, has no reason to have such troubles besides hating Sun for (in his perspective) keeping him locked in a prison of light. So for me, it makes sense we never see Sun saying Moon's name, and it makes it more impactful when he actually acknowledges Moon as the other me rather than a he.
Eclipse
I lied there's three parts.
Eclipse has very few voice lines. The only one that matters here is "We need to clean this place up before we can open in the morning." This is pretty straight to the point: Eclipse, unlike Sun and Moon, doesn't use an "I". They immediately speak in the plural. They do not view themselves as just Eclipse, but rather as both Sun and Moon combined, at the same time.
As for the DCA being two AIs or one... in Ruin, Sun thanks Cassie after Eclipse is activated. It's left ambiguous. You can say Sun speaking afterwards proves they're not one and the same, "with the Sun and Moon AIs still running separately somehow", or you can assume Eclipse existing doesn't mean Sun and Moon can't keep doing their thing under safe mode, albeit in a less chaotic manner, allowing Sun's voice to come through but not making him any less Moon - he is Moon, he is Sun, and they are complicated yet very simple.
I believe in whichever version is more convenient at any given time, with a preference for "two codependent AIs" given what the games show us. Although, going by everything I collected here, the only theory I believe to just not be supported by canon at all is the one with Eclipse as a separate thing all together. Eclipse refers to themselves as a "we', not an "I". Eclipse activates when you make Sun and Moon "whole". It canonically makes no sense for Eclipse to be a third thing. (Please remember this is a post about what's in the games, the canon of FNAF. AUs and fandom or whatever, you do you).
That's it. Hope you enjoyed my rambling. Uh artblog unpaid promotion @tagidearte thank you for making it this far.

✎ When choosing a name for your muse, did you pick something special or meaningful in some way?
❝ ❞ Is it easy for you to write dialog for your muse? Do their speech patterns come naturally to you while writing?
(dont mind my curious goober self) - @theoldsecretkeeper
muse + blog canon munday asks! [x ]
Tumblr media
( OOH i really love these ones, great questions!!
pepp's url is a reference to — what else! — the old lore doc. it states:
Tumblr media
i thought the phrase ' l'ultima goccia ' sounded really cool and i'm glad i picked it, because it ended up being the thesis for the blog: what do you do after the worst day of your life? you can never go back to who you were before, so all you can do is figure out how to be the person you are now.
dialog is actually my favorite thing to write, as i enjoy feeling out how a character speaks, how they express their thoughts. pepp comes fairly naturally to me, with very minimal edits to ensure i'm following the speech patterns i've established for him. i base how he speaks on ESL speakers i've met irl and clips i've watched of native italian speakers using english. )

Teen Titans: Speech Quirks!
I came across a post yesterday that went into the dialogue quirks of a couple SU characters, and it made me realize just how much I wanted to analyze the verbal quirks of the core Teen Titans! (Taken from the 2003 cartoon, specifically.) I’ve always loved paying special attention to their spoken words while writing, but today, I’m actually going to compile the verbal trends I’ve noticed in each one.
I’ve already gone into SO many details for my OCs, and maybe I’ll do one for them later. But for the canon Titans? Buckle up, kids, ya writer over here is HUGELY hung up on Characterization Through DIALOGUE!
Basic tl;dr: - Beast Boy has the “dude” thing, puns, quick emotional exclamations, and longer half-rambling speech when he’s excited. - Starfire has distinct ESL patterns (confusing idioms, mixing up similar words), Tamaranian vocabulary, and the (overused but still valid) insertion of an extra “the”. - Cyborg uses familiarity terms (”man”, “cool”, possibly AAVE?), technical phrasing, drops a “g” here and there, and the occasional emotional yelling. - Robin has a direct and decisive speech pattern, observations and follow-up questions, and directives/imperatives. - Raven uses brief/blunt phrasing, her mantra, succinct and honest commentary, sarcasm, dissembling, and the rare big word/concept.
(Commentary, sharing, and discussion are encouraged!)
And now for the essay portion of my treatise!
Beast Boy
Everyone knows about the “dude” thing. It’s probably the most iconic catchphrase of all, maybe tied with Raven’s “Azarath Metrion Zinthos.” ‘Dude’ is a lot more multi-purpose, used as a happy addition or a worried exclamation.
But he also uses a lot of other quick casual phrases, and slang (“My bad.” “No way!” “Nice one!”) He also makes a lot of quick not-really-verbal exclamations in emotional moments. (”Eek!” “Hey!”) Plus a lot of moans and groans rather than verbally professing his frustrations. He may not use a whole lot of words to talk about it, but he’s actually very emotionally expressive.
Even if he’s the least serious character in the cast. You really can’t write Beast Boy without the jokes. Puns are basically a must. (”Cyborg can do the robot!” “the great blue-dini”)
Even when not directly in joke mode: he uses a flippant tone most of the time, making light of even the most serious situation. He uses a sillier, simpler sort of word choice, using more familiar and brief words befitting a casual conversation, even in the heat of a mission or distressing emotional moment. (”Not only that, but something about this place seems really familiar.” “...being a total GOOBER!” “Terra took you down. WAY down!”)
But when you get him really excited, he can launch into long-winded explanations, like when he makes pitches (for his bathtub tuba or stankball), or when he’s theorizing (on how/why Robin would be working with Slade).
Starfire
Her unfamiliarity with the English language is one of my favorite things to phrase! But for other writers, it might be hard to pin that unfamilarity down without knowing which complexities of the English language real-life IRL speakers get tripped up by.
- Similar sounding words (when she says “here here, Cyborg” instead of “there there”) - Different prepositions (ESL speakers sometimes use “for” when Native speakers use “to”, “of” instead of “from”, etc.) - Words that would typically be omitted remain used because it’s grammatically correct, technically (for example, her addition of articles like “the”. Which has become overused in a certain Flash-ified show to the point of wearing out its unexpected amusement factor, but it’s still valid to throw in a fic every now and again.)
+ IDIOMS! Oh my gosh, this one’s fun. I can’t think of any examples in the show off the top of my head (an expression she might voice as “from the surface of my skull”). But I once wrote her saying, “Perhaps she awakened on the wrong side of the pillow.” She has the general idea of the saying, but: 1.) while “awakened” literally means the same thing as “woke up”, the connotation is different, and she’s unfamiliar with the exact verbiage of the phrase.  2.) Mixing up the sleeping implements there (”pillow” instead of “bed”). These things combine so you still know what she’s trying to get across, but it’s received just slightly awkwardly.
Even when she’s using her own verbiage: There are subtle transpositions in the way she orders her words. Like asking questions: She’ll often start with the subject, then the whole verb phrase, then the details, and skip the contractions. A question an experienced English speaker might phrase as “Won’t that hurt her?” could be transposed to “Will that not hurt her?”
She also uses some Tamaranian words, of course! Like IRL ESL speakers, she uses them in emotional exclamations (”You are a KLORBAG VORBLERNELK!” “Somebody’s claws are on my grebnaks!”). And randomly peppered words in casual conversation. (“these tunnels go on for at least [measurement I’m not sure how to transcribe]”, “for your thoughts, I would give two [currency maybe?]”)
But you can’t confuse Starfire’s linguistic slip-ups with a lack of thought and feeling behind them. She’s very PERCEPTIVE, especially of emotional subject matter; the girl’s got a wicked high EQ, and it’s a big part of her character. She’s very honest in what she says, and very sincere and open about it, as well as prone to vocal emotional expressions (like frightened squeaks, feral yells, and shocked gasps). She’s also VERY emotionally expressive; even if her sentence structure is plain and direct (”No she will not”), there’s a lot of feeling in her tonal delivery.
Cyborg
This one brings a little duality, because he comes off as calm and casual at some times, and intensely emotional at others. Cyborg is a character of BIG expressions-- he’s very emotional, and he seems to feel things with his whole being. And he’ll readily flip modes whenever a reason arises. (While playing videogames, and in the lead, starting off with a broadly-smiling cocky “You can’t pass me, you can’t pass me!” And then dropping to a disgruntled “You passed me”.)
He has a very technical vocabulary too, and while he won’t use Unnecessarily Educated Phrasing in most conversation (read: his casual demeanor), when it comes to something technological, medical, or scientific, he really knows what he’s talking about.
While I think this one is more prevalent in the comics: He does drop some “g”s at the ends of verbs in the show, too. I can’t think of any specific instances, but it’s a subtle pronunciation that colors his speaking.
As far as the content of his dialogue, he actually throws in a lot of little asides, like additions or conclusions to someone else’s thoughts, or surmising and theorizing. (”Maybe he had an extra remote. I mean we got, like, nine.”)
And there’s another thing: “We got” instead of “we have”, or “we’ve got”. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that’s AAVE grammatical structure? While he doesn’t use it heavily, sometimes AAVE still comes through. (As I only have a passing familiarity with it, and I’m certainly not fluent in it, I can’t really go in-depth with the nuances of phrasing and grammar, but I know it when I hear it.) + And of course, the “like” in casual ~approximation~ usage.
Robin
His personality tends to come through very clearly in his dialogue. He’s very motivated and intense, and speaks mostly through ACTION. (What he’s doing, what someone else will do, how to respond, instructions, solution seeking, etc.)
He’s very analytical, very situationally aware, and makes a lot of verbal observations. And he’ll ask a lot of questions to deepen the subject, especially “why” when dealing with people, and “how” when dealing with missions. (Asking ”Why didn’t you tell us?” about a personal revelation, versus wondering how Slade returned to life.) He doesn’t give commands without having good cause.
He’ll often condense and recap mission objectives, and give directives with concise clarity. As the leader, naturally he gives plenty of instructions. Being a STRATEGIC leader (and person in general), he has a lot of reasons for what he’s asking or instructing, and will often share those reasons.
Sometimes he seems to talk more to himself than the others when he’s musing out loud, and we know (at least if the episode “X” is to be trusted) he has a rich internal narration going on, not just analyzing facts but also contemplating heavier subjects like morality and the consequences of his actions, and how it affects his friends/family.
His criticism can be heavy-handed too; especially in earlier seasons, he’s prone to angry or frustrated outbursts, and you hear a lot of grunting or sighing in those moments.
Raven
She’s my favorite to write dialogue for; Raven is very layered, often presenting the same in generally every situation, but when you manage to get her under emotional duress, you get a whole different array of speech modes.
Her default mode is very quiet, a woman of very few words. When she does speak, it’s sharp and to the point. (When she explained her adventure against Mad Mod by simply saying, “Gym.”)
She often makes sarcastic commentary (”A green mongoose is gonna blend right in”), speaking succinctly and bluntly. This side-commentary often comes with a critical attitude (”That would’ve been a lot more profound without the hat”). She’ll say what others won’t say, or face (”We cannot change the truth, no matter how much we dislike it”).
As in that last quote, every now and again you’ll hear her spout a pseudo-platitude, the truth as she sees it, as a plain statement,
But she’s also known to ask questions and make inquisitive commentary as well, also in few words but provoking much deeper thought.
She can occasionally be more verbose, particularly when she’s explaining something mystical, in her area of expertise (”Mixing my powers with his could destroy the dimensional boundaries and nullify all existence”).
She’s also relatively verbose when she has something positive to say that someone needs to hear, too. (”Having that thing inside you doesn’t make you a beast. Knowing when to let it out is what makes you a man.”)
For all her attitude and sarcasm, Raven can have some very heartfelt moments. They’re still pretty brief and succinct; even in softer happier moments, she uses poignant phrasing. (”So what’s the deal? Are we having a party in here or what?”)
I’ve also noticed that she has a habit of yelling out “NO!”, just a minor speech pattern worth noting if you plan to put her in a really stressful situation.
And of course: “Azarath Metrion Zinthos.”
~*~
As a parting note: I think it’s important to remember, when you’re writing dialogue, that every character’s mood, situation, and dynamic with the other character can change which speech mode they use. Raven and Robin have very different conversations from Raven and Beast Boy, and Beast Boy and Cyborg have very different conversations from Cyborg and Starfire. Robin yells out a delighted “Yeah!” at fireworks, but pulls out grunts and taunts in battle. Starfire is a pile of heartfelt mush around Robin, but a fierce kicker of ass in battle.
These were just some generalizations of their individual trends, just as all communication in the world can change with mood, personality, and situation!

For the curious asks ✨💘
Do you have a favourite oc and a favourite canon character to write for?
Is there a character you haven’t written about that you would love too?
Happy 2023! 🤩
HAPPY 2023 DEAR NONNIE AND THANKS FOR THE ASK!
I think Senna is my favorite with Chuckles as a close second. Senna started as a self-insert, and as she’s evolved, writing for her has been incredibly fun and also, incredibly cathartic in some ways. And Chuck is just a goober. And my favorite canon character might be Tech. I love alternating between his pragmatic speech patterns and sprinkling in soft or sarcastic moments with him. He’s far from one-note, and I think putting in those small unexpected moments with his character are fun.
And I haven’t written for Thrawn yet, but I think he could be fun (for similar reasons to Tech maybe).
Send me an anonymous ask about anything you’re curious about.

I'm a goober. I'm suuuuch a goober 😂 I always "cast" books in my head with actors I admire... Sometimes my casting fits better than others :p Sometimes the ages are slightly off, or the hair color doesn't match up, etc. I go by attitude/speech patterns, and what shows I'm currently obsessed with.
I cast Lucas Till and George Eads - specifically as Angus Macgyver and Jack Dalton - in the roles of Emery Hazard and John Somerset in the novels by Gregory Ashe...
And I have been grinning all day because I just got through book 4, and there's a scene in it reminiscent of a scene I wrote in Love Is a Battlefield where Jack asks Mac whether or not he loves his new boyfriend so he can just get over him already...
And that is just such a goober thing to keep grinning over, but I am 😅😜
