I’ve watched the first two Master stories from Classic Doctor Who Season 8, and here’s some fun facts and observations about the first Master:

A weird piece of music plays every single time he enters a room, with very few exceptions

Somehow he’s able to pull off a disguise whilst wearing an immaculate suit underneath

He’e prone to threatening people with the tiniest gun I’ve ever seen

Mostly unprompted, the Master told one of his minions that he admires the Doctor in many ways (they have such a normal friendship)

He left the Doctor a pretty (lethal) plastic flower

The Master killed a man with an inflatable chair

Upon hearing that the Master would be stuck on Earth and would probably be interacting with Unit more, the Doctor said that he was, quote, “rather looking forward to it”

At one point the Master ended up accidentally stopping one of the Doctor’s hearts, and it turns out that he is not the best at resuscitation (he was lightly whacking the Doctor’s stopped heart and then slapped him repeatedly whilst saying “wake up”)

Just after this, their faces got so close together that it looked like they were about to kiss, I have attached a picture below:

The Master hallucinated a giant, cackling Jon Pertwee because of an evil machine and he was cowering in fear

Marguerite de Navarre’s discussion of courtly love, La Coche (The Coach) (1541–42), was dedicated to [Anne de Pisseleu]. The relations between Marguerite and Anne were complex. Sometimes described as rivals, they often shared tactical objectives in court politics and, though Marguerite was waspish about many others in her talks with foreign envoys, she never was about Anne. There was clearly also some sympathy between them in matters of religion, which in Anne’s case developed later into Protestantism. Marguerite’s poem is a discussion about the miseries and pains of love, which are submitted by Marguerite to the arbitration of Madame d’Étampes in the absence of her brother the king. The text also contains an extended eulogy of Anne (though not named directly) in which she is likened to ‘a sun midst stars who spares nothing for her friends, nor stoops to vengeance on her foes’. Marguerite addresses her as cousin and mistress. My 5 Favorite SRK Films

If you were stranded on a desert island with only five SRK movies, what would they be? I find it tough to narrow it down to just 5, but I'll give it a try...in no particular order.

These are not what I would consider his 'best' movies, just the ones I enjoy the most and can watch anytime.

1. Paheli

I love this enchanting tale of a woman who chooses a charming djinn over her workaholic husband. After watching so many movies where SRK gets beaten bloody by his beloved's father and brothers, it's a welcome change to see him play a happy husband. He and Rani are magic together...just thinking about this movie makes me want to watch it again.

2. Om Shanti Om

This was one of the first SRK movies I watched, and I almost fell out of my chair laughing. Didn't know a thing about Bollywood, but the industry jokes work just as well for Hollywood. Great musical numbers, SRK at peak gorgeousness in some hilariously hideous outfits, one of those movies that's just tremendous fun.

3. Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna

I know this one won't make many Top 5 lists, but it's one of my absolute favorites. Maybe because I've been in the position of a couple of the characters myself (though I never had an impossibly gorgeous guy show up to save me). Most people think Dev is a jerk, but he and I are a perfect match. I could watch the last scene at the train station every day and never get tired of it.

4. Pathaan

A Mission: Impossible-style mcguffin chase, a gorgeous fem fatale, action sequences that are off the hook in the very best way, and the unrivaled star power of Shah Rukh Khan on full display. What's not to like?

4. Happy New Year

I was very tempted to put Devdas in at Number 5, but if I'm on a desert island I'd probably want something fun instead of depressing. And I think I've watched this one a few more times. One of the things I love about this movie is how the cast all look like they are having a great time. And then there's that SRK entry scene...*faints*

I just realized all these movies have SRK shirtless scenes. Can't imagine how that happened...😏

(“Ich Bin” means “I am” in German, which means Soldier said “I am I just kicked your ass” LOL)

To Sniper: “You just got dominated, Bilbo Baggins!”

(I have NO clue why he says this but as a LOTR fan I fucking love it. If anyone can explain the connection that would be cool.)
