"Is this all there is to this life? Should be recognizin' myself in the mirror better each day, but instead I feel more and more like I'm lookin' at a stranger..."

Vince ran away from home in 2067, aided by Jackie Welles whom he'd met the same year through a fateful coincidence. Jackie and his connections helped him gain independence from his family, and opened doors into a world Vince had so far only seen from far above and far away.

From one environment of buzzing neon lights into the next, although a much less polished one, he ended up in Kabuki. There he stayed for the next two years to come. Drifting from one dissatisfying odd job to the next he tried to build a new life from scratch. In some ways it was a very freeing experience. On file, his birthday was a different one now, aging him up just enough to get his mother off his back. He started HRT, got tattoos he'd always dreamed of, dressed more how he liked without fearing repercussions. He even felt comfortable growing his hair out, dyeing it darker... And soon he began to only introduce himself as "V" to new acquaintances, a nickname and advice given to him by Jackie when they first met.

In other ways though he felt just as out of place in Kabuki as he did in Charter Hill, if not more.

He knew little about life on the streets, was overqualified for what his employers asked of him, and unhappy, underwhelmed with his living situation as a whole. He'd never had to survive on a budget, struggled to make ends meet, or worried about food and rent before. Even Jackie had no solution to these problems - and merc work would never be Vince's style, even if it meant easy money. "Easy" always comes at a price later on...

Eventually, he ended up helping out at a niche tech store with ties to the Tyger Claws. It became the longest job he managed to hold before his pride got the better of him. After many heated arguments with the owner he decided to quit on the spot without much of a Plan B left. He had always done his best to stay away from trouble, gangs in particular, especially after a very unpleasant encounter with the Valentinos two years prior.

Despite his careful attempts to conceal his tracks though, keeping a low profile, and trying to make this new life work out for him somehow, his past began to catch up with him as the Unification War started to threaten Night City itself...

Welcome to more behind the scenes rambles! XD Today: Vince's cyberware and tattoos, of which many were part of him as of 2069 already.

Not too much intense editing required for this set, the lighting in that street is really nice as is with all the neon and stuff! Just off of Kabuki roundabout, where the tech store Vince worked at for the better part of a year was situated.

I did have some fun playing around with some filters for the glitch effect - it's not quite where I want it yet, but I was going for the kind of look V has on surveillance cameras in game, with his identity obscured and such!

During his time in Kabuki he didn't quite have the means that would have allowed for something similar. But still, he was keeping a low profile and taking a lot of not-quite-legal measures to obscure his whereabouts and identity as best as he could to get away from his mother.

Also, this is full headcanon territory and I'm not sure how compatible it is with Cyberpunk lore (I tried to find something online, stumbled upon an extensive cyberware listing from the 2020 rulebook and such)... but my personal headcanon for his piece of neck cyberware is that it's fashionware on the outside, but under the surface it's doing some hormone synthesizing and regulation for his transition. Y'know, a convenient alternative for the array of options we have in our time and age with creams and gels or injections. A one time solution installed in your body that from day one will just do its thing for the rest of your life, basically (with some checkups and upgrades throughout the years obviously).

Also, Viktor got it for him, installed and all, and while they were at it Vince was like "Vik, do you do tattoos, too? I have an idea for something..." and that's basically how he got his demonic grin neck tattoo on the same day xD

Also around that time he would have gotten the wings on his back done:

Very symbolic and a little cliché, but he doesn't give a damn (and he doesn't know it at the time yet, but Kerry will love it xD). The whole "setting himself free" that year in all meanings of the word was very important to him. And by 2069 he'd completed the look with his chin and face tattoos.

The trans-colours cyber-flower on his right shoulder was the first "proper" tattoo he'd ever gotten, shortly before running away from home even. The little, slightly crooked Ursa Major just below it was a stick-and-poke a "friend" did on him even before that, but he never had the heart to get it covered. It's awkwardly positioned and a bit wonky, but he still likes it as a symbol and reminder of his childhood. He had the dots filled in with rainbow colors a little ways down the the line though.

His left shoulder and the chest piece connecting both right and left followed a few years later! We'll get to that :3

My Fandom Headcanons/Hot Takes

I will regularly come back to this bitch to add to it. You've been warned.

MCU/Marvel

Tony Stark is shown in the MCU to be a morning person, if not someone who will 'sleep later'. While I get that Tony hating mornings is cute, it doesn't make sense.

Tony and Bruce are not sobbing woobie onaholes that moans and flail while having little other function.

Steve might be patriotic, but true to his routes he will burn the government to the ground if he has to. Steve is no bastion of pure good. He has his own rules and sticks to them.

When it comes to ABO there should be more Alpha Tony but that's a me thing.

Hetalia

Arthur Kirkland/UK is not a weepy bottom. You cannot be the United Kingdom with all that fucking colonisation where he isn't an active switch, that boy would very much give as hard as he got.

That being said Arthur would be very particular about who dicks him.

I get that Himaruya has given ideas for what Australia's name could be. But as a native I'm just like sitting here going you can't get good nicknames out of that, so whenever I use Australia his name is Jonathan Kirkland, and tells everyone to call him Jonno. Arthur however calls him Jackie, and he is the only nation allowed to call him that.

New Zealand changed his name; Arthur to me probably named him Benjamin, (because let's be real Arthur be giving his boys very English names.) however more recently he's taken the name Irirangi which means Spirit Voice, which was given to him by Mahuta, the unseen nation who represents the Maori people. Arthur still calls him Benji, and like with Jonno, Arthur's the only one who won't get swung at for calling him that.

That being said he does allow it when Jonno quotes The Mummy 1999 at him when they're on opposite sides of things and he wants him to come over.

Jonno uses the Yugambeh dialect to speak about his family, as he calls Arthur "Nabang" and Irirangi Banahm (Younger brother, mum's side) when talking to him or just Rangi when talking about him. When referring to older brothers like Alfred or Matthew he calls them kagohn (Older brothers, mum's side) or just uses their names.

Rangi, similarly uses Maori to refer to Arthur as Whaea, and all his older brothers (Jonno too) Tuākana.

Rangi is actually older than Jonno, but he has more fun playing the little brother role, especially because Arthur keeps telling him to keep Jonno out of trouble.

He does not keep Jonno out of trouble and is usually a partner in crime but Arthur always blames Jonno for releasing some animal into work meetings not knowing that Rangi put it in his head.

ALFRED ISN'T A DUMBSHIT, he's a hot head who hits first think later, he is a cheerful guy sure, but that himbo shit he pulls at meetings is to actively annoy people, he just lucks out in that it's always Daddy Arthur who usually gets tired of his shit first.

Alfred and Jonno actively have a tally of who managed to get everyone to believe their bullshit going. Jonno always gets the more wins because Alfred always ends up going a little too over the top with it.

it was love at first sight when prince edward windsor of england met american super model cynthia van buren, and despite protests from the palace, the two were wed and cynthia left her glamorous, los angeles life for a life of service, primp and properness at buckingham palace.

despite cynthia changing her entire image going from party girl to the picture perfect image of the rules of the crown, the queen, edward's grandmother, never accepted her and there was often tension between the two women.

however, as edward and cynthia went on to have four children of their own, the queen dotted on them immensely, especially their youngest daughter, adelaide.

as the last born daughter to the windsor's, adelaide was spoiled from the time she was a little girl and had everyone wrapped around her finger with her big blue eyes and rosy cheeks, especially the queen.

everyone used to call her 'the queen's shadow.' from the time she was a little girl, she wanted to do everything she did, wanted to be around her and wanted to be just like her, there was nobody that she admired more, even though she often had to fight for her affections against her cousins - who were higher in the line of succession than she'd ever be.

while her father's brother and his family more often than not tried to make her feel less than because of it, the queen never did. she was kind and caring and patient with adelaide, simply because she was the great grandchild that expressed the most interest in the crown, in serving the public and in all in all, being a good person.

now, that didn't come without some sort of ego. with diamonds on her head from the time she was a little girl, it was hard not to develop a holier than thou personality that those around her certainly picked up on.

she was never one to have many friends or a bustling social life, wasn't one for boyfriends or 'teenage things' and even in her private life, carried that properness through every facet of her identity.

however, that identity and her entire foundation was rocked last year when the queen died and adelaide certainly took it the hardest out of everyone in her family.

with her grandfather taking over the crown and her uncle and his children now being next in line, adealide and her family got pushed to the sidelines - not involved in anything major anymore, private meetings and discussions being held without them in attendance, it was like they were knocked so far down in the line of succession that it didn't matter anymore.

and after a year of taking this, cynthia and edward had enough and decided to move their family back to where cynthia is from - los angeles, california.

with nothing left for her in england and no where else to go, adelaide had no choice but to reluctantly follow her family and has hated every minute of it.

she looks down at los angeles and hollywood as a whole, looking at it as a cesspool of disgust and disappointment but now with the queen gone, her whole life is shifted and she has no idea who she is or what she's going to do with her life now.

as far as relationships, she's been a hopeless romantic from the time she was a little girl, hoping some day she'd get that story book, fairytale love story - so much so that she hasn't even been kissed, and has been holding off for the person who makes her feel like a movie.

I’m curious if you have done any research into the “Olu” short form for Oluwande being offensive. I am not a POC or from the region, so I would like to learn. I wouldn’t use it in a fan context obviously, but Olu is a name I have heard before in RL so I’m surprised it’s inappropriate and that the actors/writers didn’t know that either. I want to understand more.

So, from what I can tell "Olu shouldn't be used as a nickname" is something that originated from one fan (who is Yoruba) on Twitter that then spread out from there. The fan never actually said it was "offensive" even, but that it's not proper and they don't like the nickname. When someone brought up that they know people who use that name, the fan clarified that they, personally, have just never seen it used before.

Someone asked about this on the Yoruba subreddit where a user explained that it's not the "proper" nickname, but it's common for people in the west to use and isn't offensive.

If you google the name you even get a wikipedia page about it and a list of famous people who go by Olu

Someone on Twitter who's from the same ethnic group also talked a bit about this and how it's a very common thing in the UK and confirmed with their mom who is Nigerian

Which it's worth bringing up that Samson is, ya know, British and Nigerian and would be aware if it was an offensive nickname. I know Vico has talked about how receptive everyone was to any feedback, so I can't imagine Samson not feeling like he could speak up about it.

Like the thing that's funny about Olu as a nickname is that there isn't even much gray area here? It straight up isn't offensive, and in the context of the show it makes sense for people to use it with him. The ones who call him Olu the most are Jim and Spanish Jackie (and I think Stede calls him that once?) who are familiar with him. The show also never makes jokes about Oluwande's name, so I don't think this is a thing of "it's too hard to pronounce" because they never do that?

And I think it's a bit presumptuous for fans, who are often white or not Nigerian, to assume they know better and that they need to liberate Oluwande from the confines of his self-colonization of [checks notes] "having a nickname." I think I said this before, but the takeaway for me from learning that Wande is the proper way to shorten his name is to incorporate that into headcanons. Like, it's fine for the crew to say Olu, but if you're writing his family or someone from the same ethnic group, they would likely default to Wande.

For my own person headcanon, I honestly feel like it'd be sweet if Wande as a name was something he felt sentimental about where he wouldn't want just anyone to call him that, but it would be something his family called him, and when he gets closer and more open with Jim, they would also use it. I mean, names are incredibly personal things with meaning. It can also be an act of racism to tell a poc that they're wrong about their name and that they should be using this one instead. Which is why... we go off of what people tell us lmao because there's no reason to think that Oluwande is uncomfortable about the name and there's no reason to think this is a slip up from the writing team.

At this point in time, it's just misinformation that's being spread and that's like?? Irritating?? Like it's annoying that people keep correcting strangers and telling them to stop using the name. It's patronizing and invasive for people to assume that you have to use this name and that they're correcting an error that doesn't exist. It's just odd to to interpret racism and discomfort where it doesn't exist, changing relationships in the show and familiarity into microaggressions. It's honestly flat out disrespectful for people to @ the OFMD crew on Twitter asking for them to change the name. And it has a real life impact where people are then becoming convinced that Olu is an improper name, that people using it are only doing so to appease white people, and that it's offensive to use when there are real life people who use the name 😭

It's just... frustrating lol and I hope this stupid trend dies out eventually because there's legit no backing to it???

My personal opinions on TFP Wheeljack !

how I feel about the character:

He seems pretty neat, from the first impression to the second-- and everything after that. He's one of my favorite Autobots! I liked his relation with Bulkhead a lot and with Miko too! Though-- kinda felt like he was a slight bit of a more bad influence in terms of being the fuel to her more chaotic side? Definitely wished to see a more prominent battle between him and Dreadwing though. Just two well-knowledged bots who know how to work their ways around explosives (well-- Dreadwing sorta knows more from what I'm guessing but still).

OTP:

Ratchet and Wheeljack. The moment that he called Ratchet "sunshine" was a moment that never left my mind and left me to smash the "SHIP" button in my brain harder.

OT3:

Surprisingly? Bulkhead, Arcee, and Wheeljack. I was very invested in Arcee and Wheeljack's little moment together during the one episode where Knockout kidnapped Fowler and June. And-- I like both the dynamic they have with Bulkhead! Plus, I like the idea of them having a poly-sort of grouping and if its not in a romantic way. I'd still love it even more as a platonic sort of thing.

NOTP:

M. I don't very much like Starjack (Starscream & Wheeljack) or the ship consisting of Dreadwing and Wheeljack together in reference to just canon-wise. I'd dig it if it was written better outside of the show itself!-- but uh. Something about shipping Wheeljack with his captor and torturer rubs me wrong. Along with shipping him with Dreadwing, someone who killed another close wrecker he was friends with.

favorite bromance:

I like the dynamic between him and Miko with being "the crazy but cool (and probably slight bad influencing) uncle" to them.

I'm going to be honest I barely know what family dynamic means in the context of this part of the ask game.

favorite canon thing about them:

TFP Wheeljack's alt mode. I like the car he drives around with. That counts as a canon thing right.

favorite headcanon:

A headcanon I personally have is that he plays a cybertronian version of a fiddle really well-- or that he just likes country music and prolly blasts it while driving around and out of the base.

what do you think the characters would be doing after the show/how would they be using their platform? for example, i think lottie would be using hers to give people astrology readings and stuff and i think the season 3 mc would be sooo problematic online

ok but you know what? definitely! s3 mc would be causing the stir she wanted to in the villa and couldn't. i'm almost certain she would be raging and saying absurd things to get attention, something like gabby hana you know? BIG YIKES.

one thing is certain... all of them (purposely or not) would be making thirst traps... and definitely supporting masks and registering to vote. so that's a certainty for almost all of them.

lottie. witchtok constantly. not necessarily giving readings but she would be an apologist and majority on that tag. her instagram would be split into two accounts: one for her personal endeavours like thirst traps and *looks of the day*, and a second for her brand as a makeup artist/personal stylist. cause i think that would be so fucking cool! lottie knows how to perpetuate her personal brand and would use social media for that as well. here's some edits i did in the past to explain it better. i headcanon a collab with elisa for wigs that they would both wear on social media, so that's something i really like! plus, advocating for women's rights, especially when a male politician says something dumb, so you know, EVERY SINGLE DAY.

bobby. in the middle of the pandemic? can't help thinking he would be doing some humorous videos, but in my head they're not the funny type. just some cringey ones... don't get me wrong, but bobby is only funny when he's not trying to, and in social media he strikes me as the type that not only makes videos but also puts the towel over his head to play a girl, so that's probably the majority of his content. some food of course, and DEFINITELY some *cute* selfies that he knows it works as thirst traps. i think he talks about registering to vote and blm, but doesn't give his opinion on anything else, politics wise. here's bobby's feed for the rest.

gary. i'm not thrilled to inform that gary would be thirst trapping all the time. now that he's relatively famous there's no reason why not posting those pics and videos. between tik tok trends to show off his muscles, and instagram to... well, do that exact same thing, he might take some time to show nan and the soup kitchen, but overall... thirst traps. possibly being blunt about masks and registering but his content is very closed off. also, he will get a dog and encourage people to adopt. there's a lot of pranks on dicky and vice versa, so that's something i thought for his social media, just couldn't find a good faceclaim that has a variety of pics.

lucas. mostly bringing awareness about covid and the use of masks, probably pointing it out a couple of political disputes, and definitely advising people to be careful about their votes all around the world. i like to think he's a huge advocate for legalization of a certain practice that women have to beg to have (you know the one), and i think he knows exactly how to make a thirst trap without making one. stop asian hate and blm carrds present, and often giving his followers the incentive to donate. DEFINITELY 'look of the day' for at least the weekend, and lots and lots of landscape from the places he's been visiting or wishing to.

henrik. he's everywhere and he takes his phone to talk about it. no doubt henrik is having the time of his life by travelling alone, or with his wife, and doing lives at all times. i think you would see him doing lives in the middle of the night, or watching the sunset/sunrise with his followers, besides making his *questionable* forest foraging and recipes. survival videos? MOST LIKELY THAN YOU THINK. here's his social media, where i covered mostly of what his relationship would like on instagram. (heavily based off "beyond the hill").

carl. the amount of rpg on his stories? immaculate. chess? you bet! lots and lots of carl's launchings for his company, which does have a separate account but he can't quite separate himself from it and it shows on his feed. his relationship would be discreetly displayed with cryptic captions since he's not so sentimental. here's his feed with some personal things he would be encouraged to post and boost that confidence of his.

anon that asked for more hannah stuff, this is for you:

hannah. i have one for her because i do like her aesthetic. don't mind the faceclaim, it was the only one i could find in so many situations. horses, books, some *cute* selfies, travelling pics and more. on tiktok definitely booktok, no doubt about it. she might do a lot of the "telling the story of my book as a story time" trend to promote it and say "technically it's real life."

elisa. it's all about branding and she knows how to do it well! some influencers might not get political because of how they can be perceived but i think elisa doesn't give a flying fuck about that. she talks often about blm and vaccines on her stories. i get a jackie aina vibe from her when talking about brands that support/encourage dark skin models and influencers, so that's a plus. she will give shit to a makeup brand that doesn't care for shade range and won't hide her feelings about it. here's her usual feed, with looks and tours (that i'm certain she would do a lot). i also think she'll eventually cave and have a brand of wigs, clothes and makeup, AS SHE SHOULD.

hope. there's no question about her activism on social media and i like to imagine she would be speaking up against anti-vaxxers and racism, mostly. just like yewande, she would probably talk about every time she felt the show might've favoured people that don't look like her. we would be getting the hot tea on everything since she's so honest. there's also lots of looks and promoting her friends' products because she supports them so much. priya's clothing line, elisa x lottie collab, etc. here's the feed i made for her a while ago.

chelsea. she might not be that deep into politics but she'll talk about covid and how people should be more careful about it, "wearing all these cute masks my babes lozza made for us!". LOTS of *look of the day* and tours on the spaces she decorates, besides the behind the scenes of parties and weddings (of ex-islanders) that i know she would throw. her feed also includes her closet, supporting her friends' endeavours and promoting them, besides some random mug collection shots and FOR SURE a pug selfie with mc.

priya. there's not much to say except for the occasional thirst trap (with those amazing thigh, ffs she should), lots of vaccine warnings, definitely political anecdotes and her clothing brand. i love to think she would have an actual boutique once things get settled after covid, and she would use social media to promote every line. her feed consists mostly of her travelling, designs, supporting the girls and her photoshoots.

kassam. lots and lots of backstage photos and that *prickly* way of demanding people to use their brains and wear a mask, besides getting the vaccine. in studio or just before the stage, selfies with a clothing line with his logo and definitely pics with islanders he didn't get to meet but is now friends with. during covid he would be using his lives to play for his followers, like lots of dj's and musicians i've seen doing on reddit and tiktok, probably called "late night music" or something like that. encouraging followers to donate for causes as well.

noah. not so huge on social media, might be the most discrete of them all. there would be lots and lots of pictures of the mornings before he opens the library, because i sincerely think he would keep his job. not the most outspoken about certain matters but carrds like the blm's and 'stop asian hate''s are on all of his bio's. i do like to imagine him taking selfies with the boys from the show, like ibrahim. he would be so present in noah's feed it's not even funny. the casual "cute unintentional" thirst trap too. family photos from ages ago and lots of his siblings as well. he does love to write long captions for whenever he posts his girlfriend. one thing though, during the first few months on the outside, he wouldn't be so present, afraid of facing the bashing on him if he got with mc in the show. that could be a reason for him to stay away until people "forget" about it.

marisol. SO - MANY - SUITS - SELFIES it makes me cry happy tears. between advocating for women's rights in a more technical way, she would definitely be using her platform to also talk about lgbtq+, especially after the realization she had during her journey. lots and lots of activism about those things, and i think she would be doing a fine job. definitely promoting the girls' products/services and an occasional thirst trap with a braless suit look.

rocco. covidiot. (i just wanted to use this nickname one more time). he might get a hard time from followers and villa buddies because of his stance on vaccines. i just hope he reads some articles instead of sharing bibity-bobity-bullshit on facebook and instagram. there's lots of vaccine memes on his comment sections no matter what he posts though. it's gonna take a while for the public to move on.

A notorious and infamous pirate, pillager, brigand, and highwayman; that was how Captain Jack Sparrow would be described by himself. Sailing a fine line between piratical genius and mercurial madness, Jack had an enemy in every port.[35] Even at young age, he was the biggest troublemaker on the Seven Seas. Jack Sparrow was noted for his unusual demeanor, characterized by a slightly drunken stagger and wild, flailing arm and hand gestures that made him appear unfocused and possibly ataxic. This was possibly due in part to the hot climate of the Caribbean, and the large amount of time spent on deck of various ships–though it should be noted he seemed fairly sure-footed onboard a ship. However, it is more likely that his demeanour was due to a common affliction of most sailors of that era–a combination of lots of rum, very few fruits and vegetables, and a tendency to accidentally hit one's head quite often on low-hanging bulkheads below the decks of a ship. It was rumored that Jack suffered heat stroke while marooned on a desert island after Hector Barbossa's mutiny aboard the Black Pearl.

Jack could be extremely serious on occasion, such as after shooting Barbossa on Isla de Muerta, or when he saw the Kraken's corpse lying on the beach. He was shown to be quite serious when he witnessed Davy Jones stabbing Will Turner in the heart. Jack even expressed grief for Barbossa's second death, despite their troubled history. Jack's seemingly-perpetual drunkenness may have been the cause of his slurred speech.

Average in height and build, Jack Sparrow relied more on intelligence, agility, and quick wit to protect himself, rather than physical strength. He was seen as both the "worst" and "best" pirate, though he never went into a fight if he didn't have to, and always took a shortcut out of tough situations. Jack frequently outmaneuvered enemies with his words but when forced to fight he was still a formidable opponent. As long as his own precious hide was at risk, a man could ask for no better comrade in battle. As a notorious pirate, Jack Sparrow was a decent, if self-serving, man who adhered to the Pirate's Code. He believed pirates could still be "good men," which was his evaluation of Bootstrap Bill Turner. Unusually altruistic for a pirate, Jack would risk himself to save others, most notably Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann, Angelica, and Henry Turner; he regularly showed a desire to avoid killing those who did not specifically wish him harm, preferring to avoid soldiers who were simply after him because he was a pirate rather than because they had some specific vendetta against him as Captain Jack Sparrow. Even after a time where he feared death and was hell-bent on achieving immortality, Jack would not do so if it came at the cost of others. This was evidenced when he was faced with the choice of stabbing Davy Jones' heart himself or letting Will Turner stab it, using Will's hand to stab the heart so that his dying friend would take on the role of captain of the Dutchman and be saved from his imminent death.

This reluctance to sacrifice another was also shown when he admitted having less interest in using the Fountain of Youth after learning it required the sacrifice of another individual, the waters of the Fountain and the tear of a mermaid, when drunk from two silver chalices, transferring life from one and giving all the years they had lived or would live to another. With this in mind, Jack only used the Fountain to save Angelica after she was poisoned by Barbossa's sword, simultaneously tricking the already-villainous Blackbeard into giving his life for the sake of his daughter. Jack also helped Henry Turner win over Carina Smyth by giving him her book so he could return it. It was partly this benevolence that led the crew to the mutiny aboard the Black Pearl, according to Barbossa, with Jack preferring to convince prospective 'victims' to give his crew what they sought where Barbossa found it easier to kill the crews and take what they wanted. It is unclear whether this was true or just mocking from Barbossa after he claimed the Pearl.

Every captain needed a reliable first mate, and Joshamee Gibbs was Jack Sparrow's first choice. They made a great team, but they did have a habit of getting each other into trouble. Gibbs was an old friend of Jack's, having supposedly known him since his childhood. It was Jack who persuaded Gibbs, a sailor of the Royal Navy, to turn pirate.

As often as Jack Sparrow saved Elizabeth and Will, however, he also tricked them to serve his own purposes and even offered up Will to Davy Jones in exchange for himself; when asked if he could condemn an innocent and friend to serve Jones forever while Jack himself roamed free, Jack merrily replied, "Yep. I'm good with it," after a brief moment of hesitation (although considering his immediate efforts to find the Dead Man's Chest after making this arrangement, he may have simply agreed to this 'deal' to buy time for him to find Jones's weakness). In a moment of cowardice, he deserted his ship and crew to save himself from the Kraken. However, after checking his compass, he chose to return and save his shipmates.

Further evidence of his morality was when he refused to transport slaves for the East India Trading Company, and when his extensive criminal record was read during his attempted executions at Port Royal and Fort Alvo Grande, it included no reference to crimes such as rape or murder. Jack later showed sadness at the sacrifice of Hector Barbossa, showing that in spite of their previous enmity and rivalry, he still respected Barbossa after he died to protect his daughter. Jack also claimed to be a man of his word, and often expressed surprise that people would doubt his honesty.

Even though he received no formal education, Jack was far away from being just a typical illiterate pirate. More or less raised by himself, and always wanting to learn about the world, Jack developed a taste for reading poetry, history, and biographies of notable persons from the past. One of his favorite writers was William Shakespeare.

One of the well-known things about Captain Jack Sparrow was his myth. Many tales have been told of him, most of which have been embellished by Jack himself. Such tales have made Jack an infamous pirate of the Caribbean, having been known for having created, or at least contributed to, his own reputation. For example, when Gibbs tells Will Turner that he escaped a desert island by strapping two sea turtles together, Jack embellished the story by claiming that the rope was made from his own back hair. Will later threw this back at him when he asked how Will escaped from the Flying Dutchman. When Will responded with the same story, Jack remarked, "Not so easy, is it?" Additionally, while searching for him, Will's guide told him that Jack escaped his execution in Port Royal by grabbing two parrots and flying away.

Master Escapee: Capable of escaping situations normally unavoidable by just improvising.

Master Swordsman: Jack was taught swordsmanship by an Italian fencing master after doing him a favor. He can keep up with multiple pirates at the same time and outmatched Davy Jones and Barbossa in a duel, as well as William Turner Junior.

Master Marksman: Jack can easily hit mobile targets, such as a falling barrel of gunpowder. He was also capable of shooting the Dead Man's Chest out of Davy Jones' hand during a maelstrom while swinging on a rope.

Backstory:

Jack Sparrow was a legendary pirate of the Seven Seas, and the irreverent trickster of the Caribbean. A captain of equally dubious morality and sobriety, a master of self-promotion and self-interest, Jack fought a constant and losing battle with his own best tendencies. Jack's first love was the sea, his second, his beloved ship the Black Pearl.

The son of Captain Edward Teague, Jack Sparrow was born on a pirate ship in a typhoon. Before he was known as "Captain Jack Sparrow", he was simply known as Jack, a teenage stowaway who, even then, had a desire for adventure. Jack first sailed on the Barnacle with a young ragtag crew on a quest to locate and procure the legendary Sword of Cortés. As a young pirate he earned the name Jack Sparrow when he trapped the notorious Spanish pirate hunter Capitán Salazar in the Devil's Triangle. Years after his teenage adventures, an encounter with the infamous rogue pirates forced him to abandon the pirate life and take employment in the East India Trading Company. After five years of faithful service, during which he sailed across all the Seven Seas, he was given command of the Wicked Wench, a ship owned by Cutler Beckett, the EITC Director for West Africa. As Beckett's employee, Jack searched for the mystical island of Kerma and its legendary treasure, until he decided to betray Beckett and keep the island and its inhabitants safe from Beckett and his slave traders. When Beckett contracted him to transport a cargo of slaves to the Bahamas, Jack chose to liberate them and steal the Wench from Beckett. However, Beckett's men managed to find him and branded him as a pirate, while the Wench was set aflame and sunk. But when he was after the treasure of Isla de Muerta, Jack lost the Pearl in a mutiny led by his first mate, Captain Hector Barbossa. Ten years later, with the help of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, Jack retrieved the Black Pearl after having fought and killed the cursed Barbossa, thereby becoming its captain once again. Jack was soon after the Dead Man's Chest, to settle his debt with the fearsome Davy Jones, which ended with him being taken to Davy Jones' Locker by the Kraken. AFTER AN ACCIDENT that left his father out of work, David Jacobs finds himself a job at Irving Hall, a theater owned by Medda Larkson, due to the sudden struggle of money that occurred for the Jacobs family. Spending most of his days either at work or at school, stress and boredom was only building up. At least the only thing that Davey can really do at work is clean. Sweeping, mopping, putting away costumes, and ever so more. And is it wrong to dream of something more when he already has everything he needs?

MEANWHILE...Jack Kelly, a small criminal, hardly anyone yet finds himself running from Snyder, a corrupted police officer that always seems to lose the charming young man no matter how long the chase lasts. And Jack finds himself in Irving Hall, which is owned by a close friend, and a safe bet to escape Snyder. While waiting for the show to come to a halt, he hides inside a box, which is a small, separated seating area in the auditorium or audience for a limited number of people for private viewing of a performance or event.

Hiding out in this box, he meets David Jacobs who only really wanted to watch the show with a better view. And one day, Jack Kelly is gonna be someone with his dreams disguised as plans. And it didn’t take long for David to get tangled in with those plans.

- The roles are simple enough. Jack is Clyde and David is Bonnie. I didn’t explain much of the gang part in the summary because it didn’t fit well enough, but instead of the newsies being...well newsies, they’re a gang. Jack is a cowboy AND an artist, he can be both, cowards. (But more cowboy.)

- ANYWAYS. I am a slut for pet names/nicknames and you best believe that my ass decided every single thing that they call each other. There is obviously “Davey” and “Jackie. But!! Jack 100% calls Davey “doll” and “sugar” and whether David’s flushes from embarrassment or annoyance, he’ll never say.

- In this, they’re a slow burn like so slow that it’s almost annoying. They’re just That strangers to friends to lovers and I think that’s just beautiful. And they’re just so annoying.

- Okay, so like give me David and Spot friendship or give me death. I read one fic of them being friends here and I can’t have enough of them. I mean obviously Spot and his Brooklyn newsies are also a gang and Spot and Jack don’t...really get along in this but it’s just more drama, am i right? Anyways, please, people make David and Spot friends more, I am begging. They are friends in this and we love to see it!

- Katherine is here too because I love her! She’s a journalist that’s looking for her breaking story which ends up being about the newsies and their crimes. And she’s ends up falling for Sarah Jacobs, the worried sister of David that has the feeling that something if just off.

- ANYWAYS. Back to Jack and Davey. The reason why David was going to the box, which was supposed to be empty, was because he likes the performances, obviously, and wanted to see it with a better view. He gets so into the performances and it’s adorable, okay. But after catching Jack, he’s like ???? and just scolds him for being in there lmao. But Jack manages to convince Davey to not kick him out and they watch the show together and it’s just a cute meet, okay.

- After their first meeting, Jack is already like “i don’t understand half the fancy words coming out of your mouth, but like heart eyes motherfucker” and he literally comes back whenever he can just because a cute boy told him off for hiding in a box.

- Please, keep in mind that their relationship might be slightly/really unhealthy because it’s a Bonnie and Clyde like come on.

- They end up on the run like Bonnie and Clyde, obviously, but the reasoning on why is a little blurry for me because there needs to be good reason because David would Not just go on the run for no reason or just because of a boy lmao.

backstory

the fox family name carried a lot of buzz around chicago. coming from rags to riches in such a short amount of time had people talking. her mother is a famous producer & runs a youth program for homeless kids who need a safe place to stay while her father owns multiple nightclubs all around the city as a cover up for his drug business.

diva lived a pretty decent life but, she couldn’t fit in with the rich kids at her school because they never accepted her or made her feel welcomed. she never cared what people thought about her & always kept to herself. however, she was thankful that her twin brother was a popular football player during their school years so people didn’t give her too much trouble.

she loves her brother but she knew they were on different paths so she would stick to herself & found a love for video games. she started her youtube career while she was in a beauty school & managed to open her own salon after she graduated. she’s one of the biggest nail techs in the city and plans opening more businesses soon ( examples 1 & 2 of the type of nail art she does )

The Self-Indulgent Holiday Special

The best way to celebrate a holiday is clearly to write a thing where your persona meets the characters made by your favorite YouTuber. Trust me, I’m an expert. 100% real authority on writing

‘M posting this super late at night after I felt the sudden need to write it, so forgive any mistakes I may have made. Also if you give me any sort of trouble for putting myself in the story.......whatever. It’s nearly 2019, I’m ignoring the connotation of cringe

There’s a rooftop garden in the city. Trees and flowers of all kind, just sitting on top of a ten-story building. Of course, it being the middle of winter, most of the plants had died out, though there were some stubborn coniferous trees and red flowers still growing. An iron railing surrounded the garden, keeping people from falling off.

Sitting on a wooden bench, looking over the setting sun, is a girl. Or, not a girl. They weren’t quite sure in recent times.They have red hair, vibrant and shoulder-length. They wear a set of glasses—they have multiple, and had decided on the black pair today. The evening is cool, but not cold, so she’d forgone her coat and wore what she usually did: a blue hoodie with a bright yellow smiley face in the center. By her side is a purple backpack, containing, as it usually did, her laptop—complete with headphones and mouse—the book she was currently reading, and her bag of colored pencils. They sit on the bench with their knees pulled close, their black sketchbook propped so that she can draw easily. She had some ideas she needed to get out.

“Hypocrite.”

It always surprised her, even though she knew who it was and what he wanted. She turns and sees Abyss, one of her characters. He looks like he always does, silver hair, red old-fashioned coat, brown eyes with stars in the pupils. He's staring at her, but that was to be expected when one didn’t blink. “Why do you say that?” she asks.

Abyss rolls his eyes. “You tell me I can’t visit this set of universes, at all, 100% forbidden, and now you’re here. Drew yourself up a portal. Therefore, hypocrite.”

“This is different,” they explain.

“It always is with you, Ms. Creator.”

Honestly, when they created a character with the ability to jump universes, she hadn’t expected to ever actually meet him. Hell, for the longest time, they hadn’t realized any of their ideas could spawn another world. But that was irrelevant. Abyss, though annoying and way too powerful for anyone’s good, isn’t antagonistic toward her, not anymore at least. “No, I mean, it-it really is different this time,” she insists. “This world in particular, it’s...I-I mean, it’s not mine, I don’t-I don’t think I can count it that way—”

“Hmm, I thought I recognized the feel,” Abyss interrupts. “This universe has your stamp on it.”

“They’re, um, not my characters—”

Abyss laughs. “That’s never stopped you before. You have your own little versions of worlds scattered all about. I never would’ve met Dani if you didn’t get obsessively attached to stories you like and made your ‘headcanons’ into your ‘canon.’ What’s so different about this one, this multiverse?”

She frowns. “I think it’s that...the creator of the original, he’s not-not, like, distant. I see him as a person and not as a-a-a, I dunno, a faceless maker of content. And all the people who are, like, inspired by his work are, they’re, like, people I know, you know? It’s really a community...like they say. And it feels mo-more special...personal, I guess.”

“I see...” She knows that Abyss is lying. She knows him better than anyone else; she’d created him, after all. He struggles with empathy, though he’s learning. And the idea of community, that you could somehow relate to people all around the world based on this one thing...it was a very empathetic, human experience. “Ah, would you look at that,” he says. “You plan this? It’s why you showed up here, isn’t it?”

They look up. The rooftops of the city had been empty a moment before. Now, there’s someone running across them, expert parkour-style. He’s wearing a red and blue jumpsuit, and a hood hides his face from view. But they know who it is. “I mean, I kinda planned it,” they say. “I wrote that this was a regular thing. And I decided to show up here at this moment, so...”

“You have a little crush on a fictional character? I understand that’s something that can happen.”

“What?! No! He’s like twenty-eight. I’m nineteen. I don’t do that. I just...friends are nice too.”

“Yeah...they are...” Abyss nods. “I’m starting to get that. So, I’ll leave you to it.” There's a flash of dark blue, and he’s gone, leaving nothing but a blue mist-like substance that quickly disperses.

“Hey there!” The man in red has landed on the rooftop with the garden, and caught sight of the artist sitting on the bench.

For a moment, she thinks the words will get caught in her throat like they always do. But...she knows him. He might not be her original character, but he was her version. “Hi,” she says. “You’re, um, Jackie, aren’t you?”

“Yes, I am!” Jackie puts on a dramatic voice, and strikes a pose. “I’m the one and only Jackieboy Man! Protecting the city from crime, day and night!”

“I know,” they say, laughing a bit. “I’m-I guess you can say I’m-I’m-I’m a fan. My name is—” they hesitate for a moment. Should they give him their real name? Most of their characters know them as Brigid...but people had started calling them a nickname, of sorts, since they started becoming more active in the community. It feels...right, somehow, to use that instead. “I’m Crystal.”

“Crystal, huh?” Jackie tilts his head. He gives her a warm smile. “That’s a nice name. A, uh, fan, huh? I don’t really deserve that, you know. I’m just a guy in a mask and jumpsuit.”

“But you’re, like, a superhero!” Crystal says. “That’s so cool!”

“Well,” Jackie’s eyes light up. He thinks it’s very cool indeed. “I guess, but it’s not like I have powers. My friend—I mean, I have friends just like anyone else. I’m trying my best.”

“But a lot of people, um, you know, they don’t do the things you do. Even if-if they can. So, that you’re trying, you know, that’s important.”

Jackie considers this for a moment. “Yeah, you’re right. I can see that. Have a good night, Crystal.” He starts to turn away.

“Wait!” Crystal stands up, fighting down a surge of panic. “I just—um—I’m—did-did-did-did you know it’s Yule today?” She cringes internally. Stupid stutter.

“Really? Christmas isn’t for another few days.”

“No, it’s the winter solstice. The twenty-first. That means it’s Yule.” She feels her face growing hot. Unconsciously, she starts picking at the binding of her sketchbook. “It’s a, uh, pagan holiday. I’m Wiccan. I mean, I don’t practice it as much as I should, but if there’s any religion I can say I’m a part of, it’s that, you know? My-my family doesn’t celebrate it. And I mean, I love our Christmas celebrations, and the season is-is great. But I’d like to celebrate it and I was thinking—I mean—um—you seem nice. Can I, like, be with you? Like, hang out? I mean that!”

This couldn’t have gone any worse if they tried. They fully expect Jackie to just walk away. But, to their surprise, he stops, and consider. “That...maybe...” he muses. “...I mean, I can’t take a civilian out on patrol. But my friends are having a get-together tonight. I wasn’t expecting to be able to make it...but the question is, can you be trusted? I’ll be taking off my mask.”

“That’s fine!” Crystal assures him. She knows all the details anyway; she wrote his backstory, after all. “I won’t even be in this wor—in this town for long.” Yes, great idea. Tell your local superhero you’re a universe-hopping artist/writer with the ability to make anything with the power of drawing and words. He may or may not think you’re crazy, honestly hard to tell.

Jackie smiles, relieved. “In that case, feel free to come along. Though, my friends probably won’t be that happy about it. Don’t worry, I’ll convince them. Now come on!”

Smiling to herself, Crystal grabs her backpack and hurries to catch up.

The house looks exactly like she’d pictured it. A regular suburban sprawl with a big yard and two stories. Much bigger than her own, which was much too small for five people, two cats, and a tortoise.

“Ready?” Jackie had changed into his civilian clothes, ducking into an alleyway with a “no peeking!” Like she had any interest in things like that. Now, in his comfortable red hoodie and completely mask-less, he leads the way up the path and knocks on the door. A moment passes, then it’s opened by a man with a face just like his, hidden mostly under a gray baseball cap. “Jackie!” he says, excited. “We thought you weren’t coming!”

“Decided the city was safe enough for one night,” Jackie shrugs. “Oh, and I brought a friend!” He stands aside, and gestures at Crystal.

“Oh! Uh, hi. I’m Chase.” Chase can’t hide his surprise, though he’s trying his best. “We...weren’t expecting anyone else. We weren’t even expecting Jackie.”

Crystal laughs nervously. “Yeah, it just sort of...happened. It’s Yule.”

“Huh. Well, you’re welcome inside. Come on in!” Chase stands aside, allowing Jackie and then Crystal herself to enter the house.

Crystal’s eyes widen at the sight, and they can’t stop a small gasp from escaping their mouth. It was...all of them. It's kind of trippy, actually, seeing five versions of the same person, wearing different clothes, standing with various postures. Like that one project they tried to do in senior year film class, where they played all the characters. They never got around to finishing it, mostly because about a third of the footage went missing somehow.

“Hey everyone, Jackie’s here!” Chase announces.

“Ah, Jackie! We thought you weren’t making it tonight!” If she couldn’t tell from the glasses, the voice is a dead giveaway for who that is.

One of them waves. The clothes and the silence are also dead giveaways.

“Who’s the kid?” Process of elimination leads to the obvious conclusion for the last one.

“Oh, uh, guys, this is Crystal,” Jackie introduces her. “I ran into her on patrol, and she said she was a fan, and so I invited her to come.”

“They,” Crystal whispers, forcing the single syllable out.

“Hmm? What was that?”

“I’m, uh, good with ‘they’ too. If you don’t mind. ‘She’ is good too. But, um, just...so you know...” Crystal trails off. It’s the first time they’d ever, in person, made that point clear. She’d never even told her family. The only people who really know are the people who read her blog description and maybe some people on Discord.

“Well, okay then!” Jackie smiled. “Don’t worry, I get it.” She knows he does. This is a world where her headcanons are canon. And damn the canonicity of the SP playthrough, a queer hero is cool. And maybe...there were personal reasons why she thought that, but...it doesn’t stop it from being cool.

“Yeah, okay, whatever makes you comfortable. I’m Marvin, that’s Henrik, call him Schneep, and Jameson. You already know Jackie and Chase.” He points out each one as he says their names. “Feel free to make yourself at home.”

“Hey! Who’s the host here?” Chase sounds indignant. He turns to Crystal. “Feel free to make yourself at home.”

Schneep and Marvin roll their eyes in perfect unison.

Jackie gasps dramatically. “Snacks!” He runs towards the coffee table, which holds a variety of sweet and salty foods. “We got chips, we got chocolate, we got other foods starting with the letter C...”

“Hey, dude, can you leave the plain candy bars alone?” Chase asks. “Bobby’s allergic to nuts so she wants those.”

“The kids—I mean there’s a kid here?” Crystal asks.

Chase nods. “Yeah, I, uhm, got my kids, Bobby and Trevor, for the weekend. They’re in their room right now, but they told me they might come down later.”

“That’s cool,” Crystal says. “I like kids. I’m kind of good with them, I think. I mean, my sister is better, kids just love her.”

“Chase, if you ever need a babysitter, I think they are volunteering,” Schneep says lightheartedly.

“What?! I—uh—no, I can’t. I won’t be in town for long, I’m just here for Yule.”

“Isn’t that, like, a witch holiday?” Chase asks.

Jameson shakes his head, then makes some quick symbols with his hands. Not for the first time, Crystal wishes she’d fully learned sign language. Even ASL could help in a situation like this. The others understand, nodding.

“Pagan, huh?” Marvin plops down onto the couch. “Interesting. What made you choose that?”

Crystal thinks. “It seemed...the most right. It makes the most sense with my...worldview. And I like magick. That’s the kind with a K, but if regular magic existed I’d like that too.”

Marvin chuckled. “Well, keep your hopes high, kid.”

Crystal smiles softly. She feels a bit...giddy inside. Marvin was her second favorite, and here she is, talking magic with him. Kinda. More dancing around the subject. But it would be weird to let on that she knew everything about these guys.

Time passes. The five fall back into their comfortable back-and-forth banter, the sort Crystal loves to write. Hearing it come to life, and more importantly, actually sounding like something they would say, made Crystal feel full of joy. But even more so, the fact that these five characters who she’d held so close to her heart seemed to incorporate them into their dynamic so easily...even though Crystal was just jumping into conversation occasionally, they felt a ball of light and fuzziness inside themself.

Eventually a small brunette girl and a tiny blonde boy came out and joined for a while. The two are greeted with familiar enthusiasm. Bobby and Trevor are clearly well-known and well-loved among the group. After a while, Chase herds them back upstairs for bedtime. Marvin and Schneep get into a competitive Mario Kart race, which ends in controllers being thrown across the room. Jackie convinces everyone to watch Spider-Man: Homecoming for a while. The snacks are devoured. Then, it’s one o’clock.

“We should probably all go to bed soon,” Schneep says, looking at the clock.

“Oh, so says you, Mr. All-nighter,” Marvin laughs.

“I have work to do! You have no excuse and needs your rest!”

“Except you have a day off tomorrow, so you have no work and also no excuse,” Jackie points out.

Jameson signs something, and Crystal vaguely recognizes one of the signs, though she doesn’t remember the meaning. Luckily, the others are not so inhibited. “Alright, dude,” Chase says. “You want us to walk you there?”

Jameson shakes his head. “Are you going home?” Crystal asks. When Jameson nods, they continue, “I should probably go to. You, um, don’t mind if I walk with you...for a bit? Not all the way?”

After a moment of consideration, Jameson nods. A chorus of goodbyes follows the two of them out the door.

It’s dark. Crystal can’t help but be a bit scared, though she knows that with her sketchbook and pencil in hand she’s well-prepared for any threat. If she has enough time to draw something to defend herself, that is. Jameson doesn’t seem worried. Then again, he’d faced worse than street criminals.

Crystal tried to think of something to say. Come on, this should be easy. JJ is their favorite, and they really wanted to talk to him. But...this was good too. The two of them walk in silence, but it’s a companionable type of silence. Crystal isn’t really comfortable with being the shorter one of the two, even though they’re shorter than most people. Maybe because they’d always thought of JJ as the small one, even though his height is basically the same as the others, give or take a centimeter or two.

Still, Crystal has something they need to say. “Can I call you JJ?”

A nod, accompanied by a friendly mustache wiggle. Crystal laughs. “Thanks. I...” she swallows nervously. “I just want to say I’m sorry.”

JJ looks at her, confused. “For all you’ve gone through, I-I mean,” she elaborates. “It’s-it’s awful and-and-and you’re so nice, um, you know? So you didn’t deserve it.”

JJ can’t hide his confusion. He’s stopped walking, directly under a street lamp. It was very dramatic. He knows that Crystal can’t understand BSL, but he makes some vague gestures that she takes to mean, what are you talking about?

“I know a lot,” Crystal says simply. “And I...have my own demons to face...actually I, um, just realized that one of her names also starts with A.”

Jameson’s eyes widen. He starts to gesture again, but Crystal shakes her head. “No, we—um, I don’t want to. Not now. And you’ll-you’ll-you guys’ll probably never see me again. I need to go back home. I have stories that I need to work on. But...I’m really sorry.” She feels tears in her eyes. “I’m really so sorry.”

Still confused, but understanding a bit more, Jameson nods. Crystal gives a watery smile. “Goodbye. Tell the others I said bye too.” She turns to leave, but JJ taps her shoulders. He spreads his arms wide, almost questioning. “I...don’t do hugs,” Crystal explains. “Not always. But, um...this is going to sound weird, but give me your hand.” JJ complies. Crystal grabs it with both of her own hands and squeezes tight. “This is the same thing to me,” she explains. “But it feels better. You don’t mind, do you?” JJ smiles, shaking his head.

After a moment, Crystal lets go. She backs away. “Goodbye!” she calls one last time. JJ waves. She turns and dashes away, eventually turning down an alleyway.

The downside of her creations coming to life? It makes the painful parts of their stories so much harder to write. Crystal can feel a hard knot of guilt and sadness in their chest. But without despair, there can’t be any bliss. Without struggle, there would be no peace. And they always ended stories on a hopeful note. They always wrote a happy ending that made everything worth it.

The creator presses her pencil to a fresh sketchbook page and quickly draws an outline of a door. It’s familiar to her, a white rectangle with a silver doorknob. When she looks up, it’s embedded on the nearby wall like it’s always been set there. She steps forward, pulling it open. On the other side is a well-lit basement room, a bed and two overflowing bookshelves, tan walls hidden by posters. She crosses through, closing the door behind her. It fades away.
