FOTD #046 : pixie's parasol! (mycena interrupta)

the pixie's parasol is a species of agaric fungus in the family mycenaceae. this fungus appears in small colonies on rotting, moist wood in rainforests & beech or eucalypt forests !! it has been reported in australia, aotearoa, new caledonia & chile. ^^

the big question : can i bite it?? the edibility is unknown, but you should steer clear for safety. :-)

m. interrupta description :

"the caps of mycena interrupta range from 0.8 to 2 cm, & they are a brilliant cyan blue colour. they are globose when emergent & then become a broad convex as they mature, with the centre of the cap slightly depressed. the caps are often sticky & appear slimy looking, particularly in moist weather. the length of the stipe typically ranges from 1 to 2 cm long & 0.1 to 0.2 cm thick."

anglicky Pixie's Parasol, nebo-li šotkův slunečník, česky mycena interrupta. Z toho poznáte, že neroste u nás.

No ale tady je! Můj další Funguary výtvor!

O houbě a o obrázku více pod čarou...

Proč vypadá obrázek takhle. No bo je pixie druh víly nebo šotka a parasol je slunečník. Proto.

Mycena houby jsou známé tím, že svítí ve tmě. Tahle ne. Tahle má jen úžasný odstín modré. Už jen z toho, že nemá české jméno, poznáte, že u nás neroste. Toho bohdá nebude, aby český národ houbu nepojmenoval. A nejspíš i neochutnal. Tahle mycena roste v tropických oblastech Austrálie a Čile. Říká se tomu Gondwananské rozšíření, což v překladu znamená, že v dobách dávných a minulých, kdy jsme měli jen dva kontinenty, rostla na jednom místě. Chuděra nemůže za to, že se jí rozjel kontinent pod nohama. A teď. Důležitá informace! Je jedlá?! No. Nevim. Tetička wiki mi to není schopná říct a já asi nejsem dost odvážná a určo dost prachatá, abych si jen tak jela do Jižní Ameriky ďobnou jedné pidi houby. Ani když je fakt hezká.

Funguary Day 20: Pixie Parasol

Pixie parasol, or Mycena interrupta, is found on deadwood in damp areas. It connects to its substrate via a bluish tufted basal disc. 

The word “interrupta” is latin for interrupted, or broken, and likely refers to the appearance of the gills (see photo)
