Some sources name the Gadfly that tormented Io and Pegasus Brize. If that is the case, it should be added to Mythika, right?

I wished the Gadfly had a better name though!

In my Greek Mythology project the Gadfly are just minions summoned by Aristaeus, the Daemon/God/Lesser God (not sure yet) of Insects, bugs and Arachnids.

Best New Heavy Metal Releases Week of December 9th-23rd, 2022

Finally getting back to some much needed normalcy. Still not a 100% after emergency surgery but feeling a LOT better. At least good enough to do a metric shit ton of music listening for the purposes of this list. I will, however, freely admit I did not get to everything that I wanted to, so there will more than likely be some albums on next week’s list that are a couple weeks old. This list is a bit of an amalgamation of this week and the two that I missed. I wasn’t completely incapacitated, just slowed down a bit, so I kept a running list on my phone of things that I needed to give more time to. That will be why this list is so long and especially why the “Best of the Week” section is so incredibly long. These albums, however, are the ones that I really came back to again and again. Since there are so many and I usually only highlight five to talk a bit about, it seems unfair but I also don’t want this to be a wall of text. So not 100% back to normal but getting there…lol

Pick of the week is an album I have listened to most often over the last three weeks and have come back to again and again. Full blown Dissection worship but done at such a high level that it never fails to impress. So with a very solid 5 impatient bulldogs out of 5, Faust’s Death From Beyond takes the top spot!

It’s from Chapter 150 when Ren says that he was going to give Kyoko the same kind of kiss that Sho was, because he wanted to replace the memory with his own kiss. He’s imagining was he *was* going to do before he considered her feelings and kissed her cheek.

It’s additional art that Nakamura-sensei often adds to empty panels when the tankoubon volumes are released. Now is the perfect time to remind everyone to support the author by purchasing the licensed material. On occasion, we get goodies like this! :D

Grootslang

Grootslang is an Afrikaans word meaning "great snake." The monster of that name lives in a cave in the Richtersveld area of South Africa.The cave, known as the "Wonder Hole" or the "Bottomless Pit", supposedly connects to the sea, which is 64 kilometres (40 mi) away. The story is that the original Grootslang was found to be too powerful, so the gods subdivided the animal into two species: the elephant and the snake. However, a Grootslang or two escaped this fate and reproduced. The monster can grow up to 60 feet long. Supposedly, its cave is full of diamonds, but no one knows for sure because the Grootslang guards it well.

The evil Lord Helwrath - once a boy who lost his imagination - has been murdering Creators,  the name given to artists who keep his power in check. When George enters Mythika, he joins forces with a talented group of young artists to stop Helwrath before it’s too late.

 Hey guys! I just backed an absolutely lovely Kickstarter for the first novel in a new series for children and young teens, called The Soulfire Chronicles. When I was younger, I felt like a right weirdo for many reasons! This book’s protagonist is considered weird because he loves writing (like me!) and happens to be LGBT+ (also like me!) I would have absolutely 100% cherished this book when I was a kiddin, and I would love to see it backed, so that the weirdo-Thorns of today can feel a bit more seen!

I backed for a physical copy (well, two...I want one for my family and one to gift to my old school library), but the book ships from New Zealand, which can be verrrrrrry expensive in terms of shipping. But! Good news! You can also back the novel’s publication and get it in Ebook format instead- much more affordable for international readers!

Thing is, there are only eight days left in this Kickstarter, and seven thousand NZ dollars to go. If you’re at all interested in this book, or in helping LGBT+ youth to realise that there’s a place for them in the big epic worlds of fantasy, please consider backing it! I’m sure the Creators who worked so hard on this would really appreciate it, too. =)
