In a lot of places mask mandates are only being lifted bc they believe it effects public perception and honestly they just want people to be out spending $ and not staying away from other people. The virus is getting way worse and mutating, including into forms that seem v similar to the flu. Everyone should still be masking; the gov isn't being fully honest about the extent the pandemic is still happening.

i work in mental health care, under 2 seperate health authorities, and they lifted masking in the workplace like 3months ago

Natalola’s soulful captivating voice seems to be making a cameo on a whole lot of ravishing dance tunes lately. Aside from her role on Exit Friendzone plus Two Friends’ Overdose, Natalola also appears on Bearson’s One Step At A Time. She now lends that magnetic voice to NVOY’s new original, Golden Touch, a ravishing cut off the UK duo’s debut EP. This richly surging, crisply slicing future pop and melodic trap number is mellifluous and chromatic. Golden Touch is dramatic and intense yet beautiful and ethereal, a “golden” treat through and through. NVOY’s debut EP Aurum is out on iTunes via Black Butter Records.

Deleting a reblog about the Fr*edom C*nvoy because I don't wanna be snarky about it anymore or deal with anyone else accusing me of being fluoridated and then expecting me to treat them as a serious person with serious ideas.

But like, nobody thinks the protest in Ottawa is entirely white supremacists. What we DO think is that a large chunk of it has been co-opted by white supremacists. I believe there is a contingent of truckers who do just want to work and have essentially been gaslit into thinking that the federal government's vaccine-or-quarantine requirement to re-enter the country is what is preventing that. If that's what you think the protest is about, I want you to understand that the United States has the same rule. If Canada drops that rule, all that means is that American truckers, who will be allowed to cross into their country, can come and go as they please while unvaccinated Canadian truckers are held up at the border and will lose money and contracts. It's not a beneficial situation for anyone except Americans.

All the other things they're saying it's expanded to now, all the mask mandates, vaccine passports and lockdowns are provincially mandated. As much as I love calling Justin Trudeau a clown (because he is), if he were to overstep that separation of powers, well that'd be the kind of authoritarianism the ~fringe minority~ elements of this convoy are accusing him of.

The thing I keep hearing is that the media is lying and pushing a narrative. I don't know what international coverage of this protest is like but Canadian coverage is... not doing that? I mean, they are, because every outlet has its biases but it's not happening in the way the supporters are saying. For most of last week all they did was push the "OUR FREEEEEEEEEDOM!" narrative entirely uncritically. They covered it relentlessly, with the National Post (a right-wing paper, for those with opinions who don't even live here) even having a stop-by-stop running commentary on their progress.

What they're NOT saying is questioning why Tamara Lich is the one behind the Go Fund Me (and may or may not have now gone MIA and not given anyone any money for their expenses in Ottawa depending on which of the protestors you're following on TikTok), or interrogating another organizer's links to the Sons of Odin.

What I'm not seeing from the contingent of protestors who aren't openly white supremacists is any kind of denouncing or distancing from the people who flew swastika and Confederate flags and urinated on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. You know that saying, "if there’s a Nazi at the table and 10 other people sitting there talking to him, you got a table with 11 Nazis"? If you are not explicitly denouncing it then you are tacitly endorsing it.

As for the freedoms they're so concerned about, here's an incomplete list of things people in Ottawa (and elsewhere in the country) have been prevented from doing because of the convoy, as reported by eye witnesses and not the media:

-shop or work at the Rideau Centre since Saturday (it was closed down after protestors repeatedly harassed staff about mask mandates, as if the kid working minimum wage at H&M makes the rules)

-go to school in the downtown core

-cross the border, in the case of truckers (yeah, TRUCKERS!) stuck in Montana because the convoy blockaded the border into Alberta

-attend a service commemorating the 5 year anniversary of the Mosque shooting in Quebec City, which was cancelled because of the protests

-get a hot meal at a soup kitchen, because protestors went there and harassed staff into giving them free meals and forced them to close

We're all sick of the lockdowns and endless rule changes and re-openings and re-closings. It's exhausting and nobody wants to be in this state forever. Ending mandates recklessly at the expensive of vulnerable people is not the way to go, though, and more importantly, I will not align myself with any movement that welcomes Nazis and racists, no matter how small that contingent might be. And I truly question why anybody who doesn't share those views would. This is not something we can compromise on in pursuit of another goal.

Anyway, if you don't stand by people harassing workers and unhoused people and literally taking food out of their mouths, consider donating to the Shepherds of Good Hope who were shut down by aggressive protestors on Saturday.

Envoys from the other four kingdoms were slowly coming in and there was one person in particular that Elis was excited to see again. Well, alright, two people coming from the same kingdom, but while a certain Lord was definitely an interest, she was more looking forward to seeing her equally enthusiastic and extroverted (if not by a slight mischievous) friend. If she had more friends like Lady Roslyn Greyne, the world would have to hide from them.

Thankfully for the world, she only had one friend like Roslyn and that was Roslyn.

Before the Queen was set to marry, Elis made an effort to seek out her friend, even if it was not actually an effort. Anything done as willingly as was her exploration for Lady Greyne, was not a chore but the loveliest of adventures. The envoys from Iatris, counting the Queen and the King with their Lord and Ladies (she even thought she spied Lord Laurel in the crowd, but he was not in her sights for now.) had all arrived and hurried about, seeking out their own friends or family and in that moment as the crowd scattered, she spotted the dark haired Lady.

“Roslyn! It has simply been ages!” Elis exclaimed, quickening her pace to reach her. “They are purposely keeping us apart, I am telling you.”
