If there was a school/collegw where all the classes were about videogames and whatnot, I would be down for that.
Like i’m not talking coding or anything like that, rather, a college that would grade you on how well you’re learning strategies for league of legends or apex or other games.
Classes that teach you stat strats for multiplayer and singleplayer games.
A creativity elective where you pitch ideas for videogames to your classmates and make group projects to make little proof of concept.
Classes where they teach you how to stream and be successful at it and tips for managing that.
I just want to go to video game college

PENN U – NCT U
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

LCF Esports Valorant AU (+ a hint of Apex Legends)
Disclaimer: I watch Valorant streams, I don't actually play. Cale and Kim Roksu are the same person; Kim Roksu is Cale's name when he's not playing as a House Henituse member.
Character - username - main agents
Rosalyn - RosaMage - Astra/Reyna Cale - C_Heni (Heni) - Omen/Cypher (fights Alberu for him)/Breach Alberu - Sol - Cypher (fights Cale for him)/Sova (I could also see Harbor?? Kind of) Choi Han - C_Hannie (matching with Cale-nim) - Jett/Neon, tried Iso on release Mary - NecroMary (matching with Rosalyn) - battle Sage/Gekko, tried Clove on release
Cale and Choi Han made Valo accounts at the same time and matched usernames.
Cale started out playing Apex with the username KRSu (trio'd with LSuH and CJSu). He found and helped Choi Han when leaving a PC Bang. Next time they met, Cale proposed that they make Valorant accounts and learn the game together - and it turns out Choi Han is cracked?? After some time, Cale contracts Choi Han to House Henituse - his condition for joining is that Cale joins the team too, so here they both are now.
Raon (GreatMightyMiru), On (Fogkit) and Hong (Ivykit) play junior league gaming but, just like their guardian/father figure, they start as an Apex trio. Yes, On and Hong gave themselves Warrior Cats names. Lily went traditional sports and is now a national youth fencer. Basen wants to be an esports team manager.
Valorant teams/organisations: House Henituse, House Breck, House Crossman (competing in the Western Continent bracket), you get the gist of it
Everyone mentioned is contracted to Henituse, though Alberu and Rosalyn have two contracts (Crossman and Breck respectively)
Eruhaben coaches the kids (username GolDust)
Vicross - Cleaver - plays League. And Stardew Valley.
Bonus: incomplete Rosalyn as Reyna sketch I made from around January

It's rare that you find a footballer keeping their head out of trouble, following or during their career - for César, he knew exactly what he wanted out of life, it'd been staring at him while he honed in his craft, from rising up the ranks in his boyhood club Osasuna, to thriving in Marseille to succeeding to great heights in Chelsea to finally closing both his national and club chapter in his hometown of Spain, retiring at the age of thirty five, following Atletico's impressive run in the 23/24 La Liga season.
Following his retirement, he had his mind set up on developing a centre specialized in granting young players more opportunities as well as backing to pursue a career in football, while also providing the necessities needed to ensure they're kept safe of any unnecessary distractions, and while he was part of several ventures such as his Esports team, his minor share as well as position as a board member of a minor team by the name of Hashtag United in the
Following his retirement, he had his mind set up on developing a centre specialized in granting young players more opportunities as well as backing to pursue a career in football, while also providing the necessities needed to ensure they're kept safe of any unnecessary distractions, and while he was part of several ventures such as his Esports team, his minor share as well as position as a board member of a minor team by the name of Hashtag United in the Isthmian League, this venture mattered the most to him seeing as several young players hardly make it to professional leagues.
The only issue was, he'd been entirely clueless on where to begin, sure he'd received an MBA and was well equipped, yet this was far beyond his expertise, and after asking around - he'd been lead to her, a successful business consultant that had been the key to several ventures in Spain succeeding to great heights, she was detached, a headstrong woman that knew exactly what she wanted and how she'd get it, hence why after several failed attempts to reach her, he was finally linked in, leading to their very first encounter.
Her methods were definitely unique, as well as the way she carried herself - she eyed out every possibility there is before devising the perfect plan for him, aiding him in advertisements, the proper methods to set in order for young players to be drawn to his venture as well as methodically using the budget he had set out.
During their encounters, he would silently observe her, often times being so distracted that he'd stumble over his words whenever she caught him, she'd been oblivious to his attraction while he couldn't believe that a woman like her even existed.
He never had the best of luck when it came to relationships as every woman he encountered, either desired fame, his money or merely the exposure of being with a football player which admittedly caused him to refrain from relationships for the final duration of his time in Chelsea up until his final days in Atletico, and now here he was ... completely infatuated by a woman that perhaps wouldn't think twice about settling with someone like him.
On one night, while they were in her office going over the latest growth chart of the centre, she is visibly beaming with pride over the statistics. " The social media exposure is growing expedentially quick every two weeks " She states, her tone dripping with pride. " Using the appropriate language has raised your engagement from forty eight per cent to seventy eight per cent, and it keeps on growing "
" That's a good thing, right? " He wonders, attempting to focus on the screen in front of him.
" It's not just good César, it's incredible " She exclaims, " You have passionate teenagers seeking opportunities finding a beacon of hope in the message you and your staff stand for, and I mean, look at the budget, you didn't overspend while also being able to provide these aspiring souls with the top technology and facilities to help them a step further towards their dream, if you ask me, what you're doing this past year is better than what these greedy board members and higher ups have been doing their entire lives, effectively killing the football sport with their need for money "
Her words worked to sent his heart rate to the roof, he could feel his heart thudding against his ribcage, he manages to force a smile across his lips. " I really appreciate it, I mean I don't think I could have survived without your help "
For the first time since they started working, her lips curl into a smile, an authentic smile which once again had led his heart rate beating ever so rapidly, " You're an honorable man César, I mean I have never met a football player who had managed to pursue and further educate himself beyond the pitch " she states with a soft tone, " And trust me, I met plenty "
Her words manage to incite a confused expression across his features, " You did? "
She nods, humming in response. " I've had less than stellar run ins with cocky football players that didn't know left from right, they came expecting me to do all the hard work, while they smiled at the cameras, took all the credit and would go on to say, that they have built their business from the ground up, all the while I have to sit back, play nice and pretend that all is well "
He shakes his head, breathing out a soft sigh, she wasn't lying and he knew it - he'd had the misfortune of playing with as well as going up against very awful humans, " Well I appreciate your hard work, cariña because you are a valuable reason that the centre had succeeded the way it did " Her eyes widened, cheeks flaming with a rosé tint at the usage of the nickname, which in turn caused him to blush and chuckle nervously, " I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable "
" No " She shakes her head, smiling at him. " It's fine, I don't mind, I was just surprised "
He nods, shyly looking away before he said. " How did you go about entering the business industry, if you don't mind me asking? "
She grows silent for a moment then she replied, " My mother, she -erm- " she paused, taking a moment to collect herself before she continued. " She raised me all on her own, my father had passed away in a car accident before I was born, she had me while she was in the midst of managing her own small business, she owned a jewelry brand that she started all on her own, and as I grew up, she'd become my role model, the way she gave her one hundred per cent to the brand, the love she had was showcased in every piece that every person who bought said that they firmly believed that these pieces were akin to a lucky charm, and when I asked her, she said that my father had dubbed her his lucky charm, and in turn, she wants to spread the love that he had given her to people that need it "
" That's very sweet and noble of her " He states, his tone sympathetic as he continued. " I bet she's proud of you "
" She was ... " She states, a sad smile across her lips. " Just before my graduation, a week actually " she fiddles with the bracelet on her left wrist. " She passed away peacefully in her sleep because of breast cancer "
He looks down then looks back at her, " I'm so sorry cariña " he wanted to reach out, to wrap an arm around her shoulder yet he held himself back, afraid of disrupting her space. " I'm sure she's looking down with pride over your achievements "
" I would like to hope so " She murmurs softly, before composing herself. " I think we have one last meeting before finally declaring that every is well, I mean I will still visit every now and then to check with you, but the way I see it, my work is done "
The notion of no longer spending time with her had admittedly left him slightly shattered, " Oh? " he murmurs.
" Relax " She giggles, the sound was akin to music for his ear. " You'll still see me from time to time "
And since then, she paid him occasional visits, even turning up at academy matches to support the aspiring teenagers he had gathered underneath the umbrella of his training centre, however each time he had believed he could confess his emotions to her, an invisible wall would hold him back so much so that he firmly believed she wouldn't feel the same way, up until ...
He'd been invited to a charity gala designed to raise awareness and help raise funds to combat Leukemia which had affected several children, and as he was present in the venue, he didn't plan nor expected to run into her once again as it had been approximately eight months since they last encountered one another, she had been in the midst of a conversation with a grand investor when their eyes met, her eyes lit up with joy which elicited a smile from him, excusing herself - she walked towards him, surprising him by wrapping her arms around his shoulder, and muttering. " I didn't think I would see you again " before she pulls back to smile at him.
He mirrors her smile, " You know how occupied I had been " he chuckles before adding on, " I was thinking of reaching out but I didn't think you'd be free considering how occupied you are "
She nods in understanding, " I have been keeping up with your centre, I see a lot of players have joined La Liga, it's very impressive "
" It is, I mean, sometimes I still don't believe it " He laughs.
" You should, you're one of a kind César " She nudged him playfully before adding on, " Tell you what, why don't we sit together through the rest of the night " she leans in to whisper, " This is a good cause but these people are fake "
He laughs once again, " You're right "
They spent the rest of the night chatting together, while she was obliviously unaware of what was brewing inside of him, he was on the verge of insanity, not only was she so intelligent, yet tonight as she sat next to him, he couldn't help but admire how effortlessly beautiful she looked, dressed in an elegant crimson silken dress that hugged her like second skin, her hair was curled perfectly to cascade around her soft features that were enhanced by the makeup she wore, his heart was palpitating so rapidly that he was aching just to reach over to kiss her senseless.
As the night came to an end, he offered to drive her back to her hotel despite her insistence that she can go on her own, once they'd gotten to her hotel - they walk in together, heading towards the elevator for a brief ride that was overtaken by an obvious wave of tension between them, they walk out together and head towards her hotel room, upon stopping in front of her door, she turns around to look at him, she opens then closes her mouth quickly.
His gaze travels in the blink of an eye from her eyes down to her lips then back to her eyes before he noted her pupils dilating, " Cariña " he whispers hoarsely, leaning in. " Tell me I'm not the only one feeling this "
Her lips parted, a shaky breath escapes before she shakes her head softly. " No "
His hand rests on her cheek, his thumb caressing the soft skin. " Can I kiss you? " he whispers.
She nods, letting out a soft sigh as his lips press entirely over hers, moving in a harmonious rhythm, it was gentle, showcasing both a concealed longing as well as clear hesitance on his end which had disappeared the moment she rests both her hands on the back of his neck, deepening the kiss and further inciting a grunt from him. " Let's take this inside " she whispers against his lips.
They waltz into her room, she closes the door behind them before they moved further in, just then she turns to him, their lips find one another, this time with an added passion that saw them struggle to remove each other's clothing for a brief bit, once they were entirely bare, he gently lays her on top of the soft mattress while his lips continued to pepper kisses across every inch of her skin, her lips part and soft sounds escape her lips. " Oh my god "
" You're so incredible " He murmurs, pressing kisses in every corner there is. " So intelligent, so unique, so beautiful "
Each praise sent shockwaves directly to her lower abdomen, inciting arousal that seeped through her walls, " Please "
He lowered himself, coming face to face with her swollen and prominently aroused walls, " Oh my ... cariña " he whispers in awe before tentatively darting his tongue to lick a long and leisure stripe to tease her. " So delicious " he groans before latching his lips over her walls.
" Oh " She whimpers, digits threading through his hair whilst he started to tease the inside of her walls with his tongue as well as his thumb that rubbed her clit. " Fuck, just like that ... just like that, Oh my god "
He placed one palm to steady her while he continued to devour her like a starved man that hasn't eaten in what felt like an eternity, she had become a withering mess in a matter of seconds, the sensation setting every nerve ablaze spurring towards a shattering orgasm, a soft whine escapes her lips. " Yes ... yes, don't stop - Fuck " her back arches off the bed, she collapsed as he climbed back up to capture her lips in a gentle kiss.
He then pulls back and smiles, " You taste so addicting cariña "
" You're so good at that " She giggled, pulling him for another kiss,
Suddenly, he stops then pulls back before groaning in frustration, " I don't have a condom on me "
She smiled, then gestured to her bag, " Go look over there "
He raised a brow which caused her to giggle, " I may have expected that tonight will happen, so I had to be safe "
He laughs, then press a soft kiss to her lips. " See what I mean, you're intelligent and beautiful " he fetched the wrapper then climbed back on top of the bed, he rolls the condom over his cock after tearing it open, he teased her slick walls before leisurely thrusting himself entirely inside of her.
He sighs softly, " Oh cariña " he murmurs, resting his forehead on top of hers. " You feel so good wrapped around me like that "
She moans in response, closing the space between them with a gentle kiss, " Please " she pleads.
He stills for a brief moment before leisurely setting a pace, thrusting in and out of her, the skin to skin contact coupled with his lips trailing gentle kisses and bites on her neck created a beautiful sensation of friction that enveloped them like a blanket. " Fuck " she whines, " It's so good, feels so fucking good "
" Yeah? " He cooed in her ear, " You were made for me cariña, you're my girl, all mine " he murmurs.
" Yes " She gasps, wrapping her arms around his shoulder, with one hand trailing to create marking across his back. " Fuck, fuck ... just like that "
His pace grows rapid while his groans deepen, " Oh my ... you're squeezing me, you're squeezing my cock entirely cariña, I don't think I'm going to make it any longer "
" Please " She whines, " Please ... I'm so close "
His thrusts grow sloppy until both of them reach their highs simultaneously, he then collapse next to her, the pair attempting to catch their breaths before he pulls her in for a kiss then murmurs with a soft tone, " You're mine now, I mean it "
She smiled, " I wouldn't have it any other way "

hey! Just watched Players, and was interested in hearing more of your thoughts on it--in what respects you found it hewed true to your own research/experience. I've never engaged with eSports, but Players' depiction of "online masculinity" more broadly was very compelling to me, and reminded me of Jay from CQ, albeit with a more balanced/positive slant. I think that sincerity/positivity hurt the show by preventing it from exploring racism/sexism in gaming culture; you catch glimmers of it, particularly in the internet's reaction to Nightfall's replacement of Guru, but the show goes out of its way to avoid couching it in those terms, presumably to show eSports in a more sympathetic light. Race and gender are common themes in your stories; do you think you would have placed more of a focus on them? Also, have you seen American Vandal? That show's first season was memorable to me for its dissonant ending, which placed all that preceded in a new light; Players has a more understated version of the same, in which Organizm's inhuman, unhinged voicemail is shown to have perfectly predicted Creamcheese's feelings, thus humanizing it in retrospect--only for Organizm to reject this, sacrificing everything in pursuit of impossuble perfection. Many of the show's characters are embodiments of some skill/archetype, and it asks what exactly separates these paragons from ordinary people--which I felt closely matched your own style of characterisation. Thanks for your time!
I'll preface this by saying that I haven't actually seen Players. I just know about it, since it was heavily advertised on the LCS stream when it came out. I'll mention a fun fact though: Nightfall's actor is actually an ex-LCS pro named Youngbin, a Korean-American who once played for Team Liquid. As I understand it, the show also has cameos from many other real pros and esports personalities.
I can speak about some of the topics you brought up, though. First up, racism in the esports scene. This was one of the major topics I wanted to cover in my planned esports story. In particular, I wanted to use the story as a vehicle to challenge the idea of American exceptionalism. In League of Legends, the North American region is a distant fourth best, behind Korea, China, and Europe. In the early days of the scene it was possible to chalk this discrepancy up to infrastructure, especially when it came to Korea; having already developed a sophisticated esports scene due to StarCraft, Korea had an organizational and coaching edge over the rest of the world from about 2012, when the game first took off in Korea, to 2017, when big money investors in the other three regions were injecting huge cashflows into teams. This was an era of Korean dominance, where Korean teams won almost every time. To catch up, the other three regions would import Korean players to their regions as much as possible (since 2015 there have been rules in place to limit imports to 2 per 5-man team), and the only region to ever really catch up to Korea is China, which combined high-money importing of top Korean pros with the gargantuan Chinese server population (China loves League of Legends, it's like the national sport) to finally start winning some tournaments.
North America has consistently lagged behind even China and Europe, an issue mainly related to low server population and poor American internet infrastructure, which forces most prospective NA players to learn and practice the game on much higher ping than pros in any of the other major regions. On top of NA being bad, NA is consistently buoyed by high-profile import players, as opposed to "native" North American players. Actual American and Canadian players often take up filler role player positions around imported Korean and European stars, which has led to a general fact of life that Americans are simply not that good at the game compared to the competition. This is in spite of the fact that League of Legends is an American game made by an American company. It's a joke in traditional sports that Americans are only the best at sports they made, but in League, Americans aren't even that. I wanted to center my story around an American role player in a more supportive position like top, who would have to grapple with the fact that despite being in the top 1% of the top 1% of the top 1% of players, he was simply not good enough to matter beyond that.
Racism in the esports scene is an odd issue, because it's less "racism" and more "regionalism"--or xenophobia. This is due to the league format of professional League of Legends, in which regional leagues (Korea, China, Europe, and NA) feed into a major international Worlds cup. In a sports scene where teams are not tied to specific cities the way they are in traditional sports, this regionalism is often what drives fans to support certain teams, what causes people to root for a team that feels like "theirs." This makes the fan ecosystem closer to the way people root for teams or players at the Olympics or the World Cup, instead of what it's like in the NFL, NBA, etc. Where things get complicated in terms of League is that unlike the Olympics or World Cup, teams from a region are allowed to field players from other regions to represent them. In North America, as I mentioned, this issue is exacerbated because not only are North American teams bad, they're bad often without even being quote-unquote "North American." I mentioned before that there is an import rule that ostensibly ensures every team is 3/5ths comprised of native players. However, due to a variety of loopholes and also the United States' significantly more lenient legal residency and immigration restrictions compared to China, there are many players who were imported to NA solely to play League of Legends who are now technically counted as non-imports. At the most recent Worlds, NA sent three teams, and of the 15 players on those teams, only 3 were "native North Americans," the rest either being imports or former imports who got green cards, making them legally residents. One team was comprised entirely of imports or former imports. Meanwhile, other regions are represented by teams that have a majority of "native" players. So the fan ecosystem is designed around supporting "your region," but NA is in the unique position where "your region" is majority comprised of players from "another region." Hence the point of soreness.
The racism question gets further complicated by the racial makeup of "native" North American players, which heavily slants toward Asian-Americans/Asian-Canadians. Of the 3 "native" players at Worlds last year, 2 were Asian-American/-Canadian (the third was Quebecois). Doublelift, the most famous and beloved North American pro, on whom I believe Players' Creamcheese was modeled, is a Chinese-American whose real name is Yiliang Peng. The breakout rookie star of last year, Jojopyun, is a Korean-Canadian who "native NA" fans held up as the shining hope of native NA talent. Youngbin himself, who plays Nightfall, is a Korean-American "native" pro. This begs another interesting question: Is it racism to support Asian-Americans over Asian Non-Americans? I think this uniquely positioned sports ecosystem creates a complex and interlocking system of identities that is prime for exploration in a narrative format. With the prevalence of European importing, it becomes even stranger. Most of the white players in the North American league aren't Americans or Canadians, but European imports, who are often subjected to the same prejudice and bias among fans as Korean imports. THEN it gets even more interesting when you factor in country of birth, which isn't even tied to citizenship or residency. One of the most famous "native" North American players is Spica, who was born in China and moved to Philadelphia when he was 10 or so. He still has Chinese citizenship and is only considered a "resident" of the United States, exactly like many of those green card-holding "imports," and yet Spica is universally considered "native" talent by fans. Last year, one team (CLG) made a splash by fielding almost entirely "native" talent, and was held up by fans as the "native talent" team--even though one of their players, Dhokla, was born in India. So where is the line? What distinguishes "native" from "foreign"? This is such a complex notion of identity that I feel like I could talk about it for hours.
As for sexism, yeah it's just really sexist.
I guess it's a bit more nuanced than that. League of Legends is like chess in which there is ostensibly no physical reason why women wouldn't be able to compete at the top level, and yet there simply are very few women who do. I follow the League scene from the amateur system to the pro leagues, and it's not like there is a large number of talented female players who are simply being withheld chances to compete due to organizational/player/fan sexism. There have even been instances of major organizations creating all-female development teams, but these teams are generally comprised of players who simply aren't at a level high enough to compete in the major leagues. Every so often you get a female player or two in the amateur or development leagues, but they don't generally stand out enough to be realistically promoted to a major league team.
In all four major regions, there has only ever been one female player who competed at the top level, that being Remilia, a trans girl, whose story is brutally tragic. She was manipulated and abused by the owner of her team, Chris Badawi, who provided for her a botched gender-reassignment surgery that left her with permanent pain for the rest of her life, until she died by suicide some years later. As you might imagine, any fan discussion on Reddit that even tangentially involved Remilia was a graveyard of posts deleted by moderators. The prejudice there, sadly, is about as rampant and overt as possible.
This post went pretty long, especially since I haven't actually seen the show you asked about and wasn't able to give any more specific thoughts on it. Hopefully, though, this provides a bit more context to the strange and complex regional and racial identity issues in the scene.

okay so @petsohp and i recently watched players (2022) by paramount and by god guys it was GOOD
Paramount’s Players is a complex, Shakespearean tragedy. No, I'm not exaggerating. This mockumentary about esports has some of the tightest, most compelling characterizations that I’ve ever seen. It’s also a great examination on how having motives that LOOK the same, on the outside, can create conflict.
While there are a lot of characters that have some weight on the narrative, it primarily centers on the relationship between Cream Cheese and Organizm. These are both their league of legends handles and I’ll be using them for this analysis since it’s their primary identifier in the show.
Cream is one of the founding players of the professional team, Fugitive. He is an “aging” player (late twenties) who’s been in the business for years and plays “support” to different “ADCs”, who are the heavy hitters on a team. His first ADC was someone that he idolized that left them for greener pastures and is not always… kind or respectful of their past relationships.
Before that ADC left, Cream and Fugitive came close to a decisive victory in the North American Championships, but Cream made a mistake early in his career that cost the team badly and has never quite recovered his pre-mistake sense of ease and ability to be PART of a team rather than the undisputed “leader”.
Organizm is a seventeen year old who is very talented, driven, and has difficulty seeing past his own goals. He is hired by the team’s owners to become the new ADC and face of Team Fugitive. His arrival is met with a lot of conflict from Cream and the rest of the team because he is untested, has difficulties communicating, and replacing a more seasoned player who is a good friend and team player.
Org brings his own hangups to the group on TOP of his youth. His family who made fun of him for his interests in the past is now very supportive of the idea because it can bring them money and fame. His older brother, who used to bully him for playing league of legends at all, is now attempting to be his manager.
Cream initially rejects him outright because of the way that he came to the team, and it takes a long time for the two and the team to build up the trust and synergy that they need to be successful.
But they do it! Organism learns to communicate better with the team and trust them, Cream learns to trust him, and the team as a whole comes out on top of the North American Championship.
That’s the big goal that Cream Cheese had, was winning this competition to prove that he could. The rest of the original team is riding the high of achieving this thing that they’ve worked YEARS for… but Organizm is a bullied child prodigy. He’s still chafing at the fact that he isn’t, demonstrably, the greatest League of Legends player on the planet.
The rest of the team called it a night after they won the North American championship because that was their personal goal. Going to “Worlds” was just icing on the cake. They didn’t super think they’d get there and winning that wasn’t really their goal. They were basking in a victory that they’d spent years trying to achieve, while Cream was saying “yo Org you’re the best you’re the greatest you’re wonderful I’m so glad that we got you the BEST ADC! WOO! My legacy right here!” Which both activates some of his trauma with his brother only deciding that his interests matter since they could get him fame and money and taking credit for it, as well as prickling at him because he knows that isn’t true and if he doesn’t keep fighting and fighting and fighting it never will be.
Fugitive Gaming achieved their goal that took them years and years of working for. Org didn’t. Winning the US Championships were not He was just like “okay we got that punch on my card and now we need to try our absolute hardest to win Worlds”. Which is a reasonable thing for a professional athlete to want, I think. If your team won like, the United States National Soccer Tournament and THEN went to the World Cup and didn’t take the World Cup seriously because they just won the part that mattered to them.
But this is the United States Mens’ Soccer team… they were never going to win the World Cup, right? It’s an honor just to be invited. (not for the star rookie who wants to be the best player that ever existed)
So what I’m saying is that Organizm decided that Fugitive Gaming wasn’t taking competition seriously enough for his liking and he left. I think that it won’t work for him well in the end, but it’s GREAT because it’s perfectly in character, could have been solved with some communication, and creates a great amount of emotional stakes going into a season 2.

Tumblr media
Introduction
Conclusion

As usual, the clarity hit. As usual, the revelation probably wasn't what I wanted to confront, but needed to confront.
I need to stop chasing this high. It was fun the first couple of times, but I really should have understood earlier that I'm really not cut out for this rave and partying lifestyle. I'm an introverted, quiet, boring dude. I play video games, dungeons and dragons, and watch anime.
Can people do both? Abso-fucking-lutely. But am I one of those people? No. I don't think I am. I think I tricked myself into thinking I was, but I'm not, and it took way too long for that to sink in.
You know what has been better than my drug-induced benders? Getting dinner with the temple fam. Vacations with the boys. Attending my first esports event. Yearly Christmas parties. Running a five stack in League and Dota 2 from the comfort of home. Getting late night Texas Roadhouse during Thomas Tang nationals. Watching some good fucking TV and movies. Man, I love consuming media. Man, I am so content with a plain, boring life. A plain, boring life that maybe I didn't appreciate enough.
And the above is not the only reality check. Somewhere deep down, I did aspire for a lot. To be a hotshot attorney, accolades to my name. Fat paycheck, a nice car, a penthouse condo, *COUGH* girlfriend/wife *COUGH*. But really, I'm gonna be a very average attorney. I want to work cases where I can help people, pay my bills, have ample free time, and possibly retire. That's it. I wanna live a quiet, peaceful life, in the company of friends and family, and die knowing that I left the world a slightly better place.
Is that sad? Is it boring? I don't give a fuck. It's all I want.
Listen to me, you dumb fucking bitch. The next time you get kinda restless and sad, just ask some friends to grab dinner or make literally any other weekend plans that don't involve getting completely fucked up. Thank me later. Learn from past mistakes:
