the hollow star saga is so funny cause the most random stuff is mentioned and then it's never bought up again and its like why would you say that??? until it eventually becomes relevant and gives you so much whiplash.
i remember in the first book there was that random paragraph about dragons and i spent the rest of the book trying to figure out who the dragon was before eventually settling on Theo. then acafl comes out, there's no mention of it and i forget that thing entirely. then agasv comes out and oh would you look at that THERE'S A DRAGON. who's related to Theo.
and istg it's ALWAYS Theo. that fucking line in the second book which called Theo the 'shadow prince' cause he was always in the Lysterne family's shadow gave me whiplash. and then it was just never mentioned again. and THEN we reached agasv and oh would you look at that Theo wants to be king of seelie summer.
Nausicaa said one (1) (uno) line about Arlo being made of the shit immortals are made of and i was like o??? kay??? and then in like the last 20 pages of agasv they revealed that Arlo was LITERALLY NICHOLAS FLAMEL REINCARNATED???
i have so many trust issues with this book series. it's why my theories are always based off like one off-hand line.

Sure enemies to lovers is good but how about character a is heartless and terrible and doesn’t care about their reputation or what they cause even often take pride in it because they feel like they don’t have a purpose anymore and slowly lose who they once were only ever relying on themself until they meet character b who sees them for who they really are despite their tough exterior and shows them the unconditional love they never got and suddenly they care about how they’re perceived but only by that one person they view themselves as not good enough and unworthy for character b so they want to be better but only for them they do all they can trying to earn the love they’ve been given they become incredibly loyal to this person and constantly wanting to make them proud and slowly come back to themself finding new purpose and a reason to keep going and overall do become better while character b finds they finally have a place and become confident in themself because they feel important and fully seen in the eyes of character a who is always there to support them and show them how strong they really are the two find a safe space with one another and become stronger together. That’s the shit
And yes I’m talking about Nausicaä and Arlo

finished object time!!!! :]
i made this continuous granny square blanket using about 3 lion brand mandala cakes (i believe in the colorways dragon, kraken, and sphinx, except i cut out the red of sphinx). was a lovely project for sitting and watching movies (nausicaä of the valley of the wind, star trek: the motion picture, and star trek II: the wrath of khan) and mindlessly crocheting :)
it's a bit smaller than i hoped (3'x3') but it's a great lap blanket and accent on my bed!! i've already started another continous granny square blanket, but just using stash yarn and changing color every row.
i loved watching the colors flow in this, even though they get a bit choppy by the end. i love the little quirks in this blanket so much, was very fun and comforting to work on :) plus it's a nice light weight for springtime!!
[ID:
Five photos of a crocheted continuous granny square blanket. The yarn colors blend into each other as the blanket grows. The colors consist of brown, greens, blues, teals, and yellows. Four photos are of the blanket folded, and one is me holding it up full-size. ]

Arlo “I don’t even know if I like girls” Jarsdel: I probably just admire nausicaä
Arlo: and the curve of her throat and muscular thighs and the ethereal otherworldly glint in her steel eyes
Arlo: anyways. I’m gonna go binge watch She-ra and the princesses of power

Bookworm thoughts at 01:42 am on a Sunday:
Does anyone else read a book with romance in and your heart just clenches bc you realise no one will ever love you as deeply and tenderly and fully as those characters in your book love each other…?
