✨WIP/ Some Niya Things✨

So at this point these are old as hell, but I’m currently in the limbo where I have either finished or not yet started my intended drawings, so I’ll take the opportunity to share some in progress lore :D

The Most Expression Ever (knows too much but brain still empty) and an actual intentional design of her heirloom brooch. The central gem is colourshifting while the one on the top is akin to a deep red ruby, and the golden framing is actually reminiscent of the sigil of Asmodeus (since her family’s historically in the cult and all). I’m not even remotely experienced with costume design but it felt all the better to settle on a look I actually like a lot ☺️:

This outfit’s actually temporary for a d&d game (a stolen elaborate robe that is way too big for Niya, the sleeves too long and singed from careless magic outbursts), but the look is otherwise the closest thing I currently have to a reference of Niya:

Some “older Niya” concepts I played with, with doubled horns (a crown of horns, if u will, tho the color and shape aren’t necessarily my favourite) and more scales. Did some of her signature expressions of Nicetomeetcha, The Way-Too-Toothy-Grin, Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru, and Oh Worm:

Discussing Blue Archive Lore and going progressively insane has been an experience. The Mystics, for example:

Each academy has its thing, right. Abydos is ancient Egyptian pantheon, Trinity is Christianity (+English/Irish/Scottish myth), Gehenna are the 72 demons, Valkyrie and SRT are Norse, Hyakkiyako is Japanese myth, and so on. So it's easy to establish a framework: "They're representative of cultural figures from x place".

So:

You have the ones that are Obvious: Shiroko is Anubis, Hoshino is Horus, Mika is the Archangel Michael, Seia is Gabriel, Hina is Baal, Wakamo is Tamamo no Mae, Niya is Ootakemaru, Kazusa is Cath Palug, Ako is Astaroth, among others

Then you have the ones that are "Obvious" as in "probably": Serika as Bastet, Saori as Lucifer, Nonomi as Nephtys, Nagisa as Uriel, Suzumi as Sariel, Koharu as Metatron, Hasumi as Sandalphon, Hinata as Jegudiel, Kanna as Odin, Miyako as Mimir, and so on.

Now you start getting a little out there, as you have to expand your the concept of "figure from x place" to "the concept from x place".

Shit like "well, Rin's family name is Nanagami, "Seven Gods", she's currently the highest authority at least on paper, so what if she's The Seven Holy Names of God per Jewish faith? If we assume the GSC President was capital G monotheistic God it'd make even more sense" "What if she's the seven heavenly virtues instead?" "Also possible but I think it's the former".

Then you get to fucking Millenium.

She refuses to let society ever dictate what she can and cannot do. He goes by all pronouns but prefers she/he and loves it when you switch it up.

Originally they were dark brown but changed due to mutation.

Hair: Black medium sized, mid length dreads, with bright orange tips.

Height: 5'4

He's often mistaken for a much younger age than what he is.

Likes: Hobie Brown, Music (preferably grunge, rock, and rap), Hobie Brown (yes again), apple cider, lighting things on fire, cooking, baking, singing

Dislikes: Her mother, her job at Alchemax, injustice, liars, people looking down on him

Distinguishing Marks: Because of her mutation she now has large freckles along her arms that are a bit darker than her actual skin tone that only appear after she uses a specific power

Her marks aren't noticeable under low light and she wears mostly long sleeves since she's so sensitive to the cold.

So I saw this book called Margaret and Margarita and had a thought:

Miguel not knowing english very well inhis childhood. Think ages between 3-9. (ik this isn’t accurate to his lore but just bare with me)

because of this, his only friends are probably Gabri and his mom 😭 he’s a pretty nerdy kid, building massive lego structures in his down time, reading books translated into spanish,, that sorta thing. I feel like he can understand it just fine, but speaking it is where he’s hard up. Grammar, spelling, essays? Yeah, those things are a little too difficult for him. (Ik im projecting bc i was the same when I was his age lmao)

imagine filo! reader’s family moving in next door, and reader, like miguel, doesn’t know english that much. Reader is a little more extroverted, but their english is kinda bad 😭 so imagine when Conchata (i think that’s her name, miguel’s mom right???) wants to meet the new neighbours, so she drags miguel and gabri along with her. She tells miguel that they have a kid his age, and that makes him a little shy. Miguel is probably nervous, cause what if he trips over his words and makes a fool out of himself??? So reader and miguel are kinda in the corner while their mom mingles with reader’s parents (I’d like to imagine gabri as a little baby here, so he’s just chilling in their mom’s arms lmfao) and so reader, being a sweetheart, tries to make conversation.

“What’s your name?”

“Miguel.”

“Ah, okay.”

“Okay.”

AND IT’S SO AWKWARD HAKAKJSJS

So after a few more minutes of silence, reader decides to try and play with him. Turns out, they have a small box full of Legos. Miguel is absolutely enthralled, and he starts to build like he normally does. And reader is so amazed kjaidja.

Miguel picks up on the fact that what reader just said was a compliment, so he just smiles and mutters a small ‘Gracias.’

SO THEY BOTH CONTINUE TO PLAY TOGETHER, DESPITE BOTH OF THEM NOT FULLY UNDERSTANDING EACHOTHER 😭😭😭 i feel like since Filipino has a lot in common in Spanish, they could pick up little phrases from eachother (Like in ur miguel x filo reader headcanons hehe)

I literally love all things languages/linguistics/accents/etc, so i really love hearing all accents 😭 but i love how satisfying it is to listen to Scandinavian accents, specifically Swedish (biased), and I also really like Irish, Welsh and Australian accents 🙃

Been a bit quiet on here lately bc words are hard and I don’t like making posts without things to say, but I wanna post some stuff soon!

This is my newer, fourth OC. She’s like a year old by now but shhhh. Her name is Ellie Thracus and she’s a scribe with a passion for adventure and romance novels, and baking! …and a bastard daughter of a duke. AND a Warlock of Niya!

She belongs to a cozy AU (that admittedly doesn’t start cozy at all lol) where a desperate Ellie tries to flee from assassins after her heritage is discovered by her lord father’s new spouse, and summons the more seasoned, eviler Niya to grant her power and protection. Niya answers, mainly out of amusement. Cue a goofy cohabitation romcom with a bunch of gay internal screaming as Niya lets Ellie crash in her manor and Ellie bakes her a cake in thanks, starting the thawing process on the half-devil. Babygirl literally unknowingly saves the world because her influence is what pulls Niya from Asmodeus’ influence as his pawn and future avatar in the Material Plane.

They think that a well-balanced diet is the key to good health and life. Despite their appreciation of fresh food and culinary qualifications, Velvs are susceptible to gastrointestinal problems. They have sensitive digestive systems that are readily irritated by overly processed meals such as coffee. As a result, Velv folk tend to eschew processed foods in favor of fresh, natural components.

* 🕷️ SPIDER - what is their biggest fear? do they have any irrational / mundane fears?

i would say she has a pretty big fear of loneliness. her mother disappeared/died, she doesn’t have many real friends, so she fears losing the only family she has left, her dad and aunt. as for the notable irrational fears, she has a touch of irrationality about the sunlight-killing-vampires lore becoming real even though it hasn’t been shown to happen in her variation; she’s still very cautious about putting a hand out before stepping into direct sunlight though.

* 🌹 ROSE - do they like valentines day? have they been confessed to before? have they confessed to anyone before?

let me just say, niya is a romantic, she just doesn’t care about valentines day because she’s never had someone to spend it with. besides, she likes giving her love anyday. there have been a few people here and there that confessed their affections to her, but none that she was particularly interested in - and she laughed in the faces of the boys. mean teen lesbian, indeed. she had a moment where she was going to confess to bianca in her (niya’s) first year, but she ended up not doing it after finding out bianca and xavier had gotten together.

* 🙈 SEE-NO-EVIL - whats a side of your oc that they don't want to show other people?

her softer side, for sure. she has this ‘cool quiet in-the-background girl’ attitude around the academy that she upholds. also she’s princess-y, she’s got attitude, she seems to ‘somehow’ know everybody else’s secrets and has more than one student wrapped around her pinkie; she can’t let her softness be seen by just anyone.

* 🙊 SPEAK-NO-EVIL - what is something your oc will refuse to stay quiet about?

on one hand, she will babble on about plants and poetry for hours. on a more serious note, vampire lore, the real stuff, she’s sure to correct anyone who gets something wrong or says some inconsiderate crap.

* 🙉 HEAR-NO-EVIL - what is the worse thing your oc could hear from someone?

like bianca worrying she can’t trust anyone’s feelings because of her sirensong, niya worries about people not seeing the girl beyond the fangs, that someone might only like her for some vampire kink and is falsifying their feelings for her.

* 🌱 SEEDLING - what is their most vivid memory from childhood?

perhaps not the most vivid, but maybe one of the first. it’s blurry, but she’s held by her father. he’s talking to his wife, niya’s mother. a butterfly lands on her nose, flapping it’s wings as niya giggles. niya knows it’s her mother and it’s one of the few times she remembers seeing her mother’s butterfly soul.

* 🍀 CLOVER - do they believe in luck? are they lucky?

she doesn’t necessarily believe in luck, more fate. it’s fate to be in the right place at the right time, fate for who wins and who lose, fate that a coin will land on heads or tails.

* 🌏 EARTH - will they give up the world for someone they love? is this decision easy for them?

of course. the decision is simple for her. her loved ones matter more. she’d leave the world to rot or burn if it meant protecting people she cared about.

* 🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

first decision was that she was going to be a wednesday ship and that she was gay. i don’t know exactly what her inspiration was, i just kinda run with things; i guess a screencap of a textpost on pinterest talking about slavic butterfly vampire folklore?

Niya — Story V Unlocked.

Most Cicin mages go mad early, a result of the brutal experiments and magic they undergo to augment their abilities; Lizabeta, while certainly not sane, had her sister to cling to.  

Her search for Serafima, ironically, saved her from the kind of loss of self that the other Cicin Mages experienced.  Even in the moments where she forgot her own name, she always remembered that she had a sister to find.

Eventually, unable to get answers amongst her peers, she began prodding the Harbingers for information.  Her superior, Scaramouche, expected unquestioning loyalty and obedience from those under his command, and thus resented her demands.  He challenged her to a fight, lulled her into a false sense of security, and then handily defeated her, badly scarring and functionally torturing her.

In what seemed at the time like an act of kindness but quickly exposed itself as abject cruelty, he offered her a “hint” to her search — a Ruin Guard’s identification code.

It didn’t take the mage long to learn the truth after; her sister had been deemed ineffectual after a mission failure, and had thus been handed to Dottore to be used as fodder for his experiments.

Feigning obedience prompted by a crushed spirit, Lizabeta kept a low profile for two months, during which time she gathered what resources she would need.  She found the machine that housed, in some capacity, her sister, and destroyed it.   Then, she simply disappeared, fleeing to Liyue and adopting a new goal: kill the harbingers and avenge her sister.  She adopted a new name along with this new purpose.

It was in this way that the woman named Niya was born.

I don’t know what happened to my parents after I disappeared.  They were interrogated, I’m sure, to try and find me.  Probably tortured.  Maybe killed.  I could find out, but I don’t care, so I haven’t bothered.

Sintandar is the Head of state of this very old, nearly primordial kingdom called Kalantiaw. It is the oldest kingdom in the remaining world, and it is also a Theocracy. His title is officially Hukumang Sintandar, and the rough english approximation is Judge Sintandar.

Here's the map. The World is "sundered", their planet is shattered and the characters traveled to and fro each "sundering" via specialized sailing ships made of petrified wood embedded with the spirit of dragons called dragon-ships, only to be piloted by specialized seamen with the curious ability to speak to the dragon-spirit.

Sintandar is only 29 years old, but he officially became Hukuman when he was 14.

Kalantiaw, while a theocracy, also has Religious Freedom, with the logic being that all other beliefs are simply an evolution of Kalantiaw's rich and ancient pantheon. Kalantiaw's capital is called Kamharik, the sleeping city, where no one outside of Kalantiaw really knows where that city is located.

It is said that in Kamharik, it is always night, where the stars glow a gentle blue. Sintandar lives in Kamharik, secluded and distant from the world.

In reality, Kamharik is a "living cave", where it goes so deep into the earth and so wide, it started forming its own ecosystem. The "blue stars" are a species of giant glow worms, where from the cave's great ceiling, they look like distant pinpricks of light.

Kamharik is also a Necropolis, where people freely live with their dead and practice ancestor worship, as their main deity is Viharana, the virgin goddess of sleep.
