Day: Friday, April 26th / 27th* Time: 7:05 PM EST

"You two could at least say hello," Wymack says, somewhat aggrieved. "There's no point," Kevin says. "All they are is a distraction." "It's called a support network. Look it up." "Thea is watching from South tonight," Kevin says, looking to the elevated VIP box. It is too far away and too high up for Neil to make out any faces, but there is a small crowd gathered at the windowed walls already. Knowing the Court is here to watch them play sends a chill through Neil's veins. Kevin drags his stare back to Wymack's face and says, "and my father comes to all of my games. That is enough." On Wymack's other side, Abby's gaze softens. Wymack's jaw works for a moment before he can say in an even tone, "Your mother would be proud of you." "Not just of me," Kevin says in a rare bout of humanity.

Can you imagine how fucking angry Neil was when he heard Jean say “So Drake’s not a biter then.”

Because I can.

In that one sentence Neil learned 2 things.

1) That Jean was sexually assaulted

2) What he (Jean) went through was something akin to what Andrew went through with Drake.

I also think that reminded him of everything (that he knows) Drake did to Andrew. I think it reminded him of the time when Drake ambushed him and was paid by Riko to do so. I think it reminded Neil that both of those bastards got of way too fucking easily.

I think Neil put a hit on Grayson not only for Jean, but also for Andrew, Kevin, himself and anyone else who was hurt by Riko, Grayson and Drake (that last one might be a stretch but you get my point).

I think Neil felt so angry and helpless at that point and when he was presented with an opportunity to properly get rid of someone’s abuser, he took it.

⚠️THE SUNSHINE COURT SPOILERS⚠️

((If you haven't read the book yet ignore this post I know how much spoilers suck))

Can we get a moment to appreciate this man for a sec cause I just finished TSC and I think people aren't talking enough about Neil Josten being an insufferable bicht.

"I'm trying to eat." PLEASEE I LOVE HIM SO MUCH.

When he casually ordered Grayson to be killed because "He's not gonna bother you ever again." I was literally fainting No because how can someone be so perfect?!

And the way he smiled at the waitress so she would give him a pen?? Like Hello??? You didn't even know you were handsome three books ago.

And "That's illegal, just so you know" BROOO?!?! HE KEPT BEING A LITTLE SHIT WITH THE FEDS AND THE MAN TOTALLY ATEEE.

I don't know you but that's soo similar to what I pictured him to be after the third book and until now I was like 'nahh it's probably not like that..." then I read this book and was like 'OMG THIS IS EVEN BETTER THAN WHAT I THOUGH'

Anywayyyy.... Back to TSC I really loved it. It's incredible how Nora manages to surprise me every time. The way just by changing the perspective of the book changed the all narration is incredible. (Thinking about how much Neil's character seems different when we're looking at him from Jean's perspective. He was so calm, and I don't know more... Mature? I don't think this is the right way to say it but anyway)

I love Jean (the way he insulted everyone in his head made me chuckle every single time) and I think I fell in love with Jeremy (he's a cutie)

Now that I've finished it I don't know what to do and I don't think I can survive till the second book releases ((Someone needs to save me from my own obsession))

Today I'm thinking a lot about Andrew's parallels, sorry (no).

But Andrew refusing to try something with Kevin, despite being atracted to him, and instead deciding he prefer to help him heal (in his way) and protecting him, in my head is so similar to Renee feeling things about Jean but knowing a romantic relationship wasn't the best for him at that moment and just staying with him and caring, even in the distance.

AND

Andrew waiting for Neil to start something with him, making sure to respect that he said he didn't swing, and himself being ready, prioritising knowing the real Neil and his safety is the same as what Jeremy is doing with Jean in TSC. He is not thinking of himself and his atraction first, but seeing this poor and clearly broken boy that he doesn't know (but wants to) and wanting to help him heal before doing something, respecting boundaries and all...

"Fuck him," Kevin says, sliding a little further down the door. "Fuck all of them. Waste of time to be angry. They should be afraid." "Hell hath no fury," Andrew says.
