#Not bashing in Poppy playtime

There's a lot of things I really like about Indigo Park and one of them is that it makes complete and full sense that Rambley asks YOU to do the puzzles

Despite being sentient and having access to most mechanical things in the park, he's still confined to a screen all of the time, so he can't physically help you Normally in mascot horror games (Even Poppy playtime to some extent) the character doesn't move an inch to help you with puzzles and asks you to handle everything while they stay in their place in idle, while Rambley directly needs your help

I also like how he isn't forcing you to stay at the park, he asks if you want to help to restore the park and it's clear that the MC was willing to stay which is GREAT to justify why they don't just leave for an emergency exit or jumping the fence and empathizing with Rambley more

There's also the fact that we aren't just a plain MC, we know they like to explore abandoned places (which justifies them going to Indigo Park more than the actual Poppy playtime did imo), we know not only their favorite character but also their mother's, and Rambley isn't the only one commenting about the collectables, there's dialogue of us too

And my favorite, the place being big is justified, this is a disneyland-like park, so it doesn't feel out of place or weird

The critter cuff is okay, it's the mechanic that makes the most sense out of every game (I'm yet to find how Poppy's hands could be used in real life, fun mechanic, but it ruins the immersion for ME), It's reasonable, it's like a pass for the whole day and that's cool

Indigo Park is doing a great job in fixing these common problems in mascot horror, the atmosphere is dark and mysterious, Rambley has humor and we trust him but we also get to see a more "human" side of him the more he realizes the park has been abandoned for a very long time

If there's some stuff I didn't like about the game would be the way the mascots move when chasing you and the textures not loading well for the first rooms (Tho I'm guessing this will soon get corrected)

Poppy Playtime: CH 3 (What-if)

John watches in horror as dozens upon dozens of the Mini–Smiling Critters he has been dealing with ever since he found himself in the Playhouse. Crawl out of the walls and toward the hanging DogDay. The giant version of the toy screams out in panic when seeing the little monsters.

"Leave me! Please! Save yourself!" Every fiber of John's being agreed with what the humanoid dog said. But John couldn't get his legs to move.

He was too caught up in the horrific sight to even twitch a finger. But eventually his brain screamed at him to go, and John responded.

Though instead of running away to get to safety. John fired a few flares at the Mini-Smiling Critters. Like the other times they reared back in fright at the bright fireball.

However, this time, not all of them were backing away. Some continued to crawl toward DogDay. Their feral nature being more powerful than their fear. So, with only one option left. John starts bashing away the plush toys with his GrabPack arms.

"What are you doing?!" Asked a confused DogDay. "I told you to leave me!" John ignored him and continued his assault. One of the Smiling Critters manages to get onto DogDay's head, and it seemed it was about to crawl into his head by his large, black eyes,

John stopped this from happening by actually using his own hand to grab it and then punch it in the face with his other hand by turning it into a fist. John heard a sickening crack, but he pressed on and threw the dead thing away.

In quick speed John was able to free the large dog from his straps and have his arms wrap around his neck for support. "You're a fool for doing this. You're going to get yourself killed."

John could only grin. If that was the case, then at least he died trying to save someone. The Mini-Smiling Critters, angry that their food supply was now free. All snarled in anger.

John didn't bother to wait and see what they'll do and ran back the way he came. But when trying to run through the cell doors, wooden planks that were put in place to cover a large hole in the floor. Collapsed by the combined wait of John and DogDay's.

They fell to a floor beneath the holding cells. Clearing his dazed head from the sudden fall. John sees an open tunnel. Up above he can hear the little Critters coming to where he and DogDay fell.

Wasting no time, he crouch runs down the tube till coming to another tunnel and taking it. It was series of running, taking sharps turns, running up ramps, waiting for shutter doors to open up, and taking a slide down. But eventually John spots their salvation. An elevator that was behind a gap that led to a bottomless pit.

Switching to the purple hand and with what little adrenaline he had left in him. John sprints toward the gap, "Hang on! This won't be an easy landing!" Just as his foot touches the purple hand pad. John fires the hand on it and both he and DogDay launch high in the air.

Fortunately for them they were able to make it. Though John ended up not sticking the landing. He lost his footing and fell to the ground. The giant Smiling Critter rolled off of him, only being stopped by the elevator railing.

Without his choice John's body happened to land on his side where his front would be facing the open doorway he just came through. He can see the horde coming for him and DogDay. He wasn't actually sure if they would make the jump or not. He prayed that they didn't. But he wouldn't be able to know as the shutter suddenly closed before any of them could even make the attempt.

From behind the door, he could hear the little beasts roar and snarl in absolute fury. Crashing their little bodies against the metal in hopes of breaking through it.

Though the door wasn't budging in the slightest. Letting out a much-needed sigh of relief. John turns to DogDay to see if he's alright. "Are you ok?" John asked. The Smiling Critter coughs a little before asking why he saved him. John was silent for a few seconds till saying. "Because this place already has enough death occur in it. It needs at least one life that was saved in these walls."

DogDay took a second to digest what he heard. He lets out a ragged snort. "You really are an Angel. Something this place really needs."

John snorts too. "By the way. The name is John." DogDay said the name sounded too generic and will continue to call him Angel. Rolling his eyes. John picks up DogDay and steps onto the elevator and pushes the button. The contraption heading upward that led them to another slide. With no other option they took it, and it actually took them outside the Playhouse.

"It's been so long since I've been outside. I honestly can't believe that I'm truly free." Said DogDay. "Well believe it, you'll no longer be someone's dinner."

After a phone call from Ollie and telling him what to do next. John first takes DogDay to the elevator where Kissy and Poppy were last seen using.

When reaching it John sees the elevator was still raised up. He calls out for either Poppy or Kissy to lower the elevator so DogDay can be safe with them.

For several long seconds he didn't get a reply back. He was worried that maybe they were no longer up there. But his worries were put to rest when he heard and saw the elevator descending.

The elevator finally reached the bottom and John rested DogDay against the railing. "I don't know about this. Can you trust them?" The Smiling Critter asked. A hint of worry in his voice.

Despite what DogDay said to him back at the Playplace about he and Poppy being the only ones to stop the Prototype. John doesn't blame him for it. For years he was at the mercy of toys who he thought were his friends. And after all those years, he's finally free, only be at the mercy to a different set of toys. John reassures him that that they'll keep him safe while he deals with CatNap.

Pressing the button so the elevator can go back up. DogDay says, "Please don't die, Angel. I don't want to lose any more friends in this place."

Promising he won't. John turns around and heads for the counselor's office to bring more power to the generator.

Don't mind me just ranting about hyperfixations.

Okay, I don't like how alot of my hyperfixations have joined forces to bash my head in nowadays. Like since late 2022 to the start of 2023 I went from Sonic Prime to Generation loss to ROTTMNT, FNAF, Welcome Home, Amanda the adventurer, and so much more that I can remember and right now the exact same thing is happening.

It's like a hyperfixation overload. I'm in the middle of RC9GN while still hanging onto TMNT and checking in every now and then to Mortal Kombat (11 and 1) and finally topping it off with Sonic the hedgehog and Poppy Playtime again.

I can multi-task yeah, but my brain can only handle so much silly fun times and bright colour's with a dash of angst :(

I also love musical theatre :)

Don’t fault the game because you didn’t watch a full play through

But I did? I watched two playthroughs, and then playthroughs of all the endings. I’m not saying it’s a bad game by any means, in fact it’s gotta be one of the best Mascot Horrors out there (and as much as I am a fan of Poppy playtime, it’s way better quality-wise).

I’m just offering an analytical first-impressions take. I’ve dwelled on the endings for a while and discussed with some friends, and I feel like there’s something missing there. I’m not bashing the game, I’m critiquing it, cuz it’s not perfect - nothing is. I’m sorry that my words came across that way, I love this game.

HERE WE ARE AGAIN BUT WITH HUGGY WUGGY THIS TIME

So heavy trigger warning, mentions of st//vation.

As someone with this same trigger from PTSD, who's comfort character is Huggy Wuggy, seeing people theorize he's attacking you because he's literally starving and desperate also fucking hurts.

So I decided to debunk it to make myself feel better. And maybe someone else who was unnerved by that idea.

SOME DISCLAIMERS BEFORE I CONTINUE

Please be aware, there is evidence that Huggy himself is fine, but other characters are not. So please, if you have these triggers and they can be set off easily by fictional content, even if the character isn't a comfort, for your safety, please don't get into Poppy Playtime. Because there are implications of this type of content being around in the universe.

This is not meant to bash anyone else's headcanons, and please don't argue in the comments about this, this is meant for people who might be upset by the idea of their comfort character going through this. If I end up being wrong, I'm wrong, but for now, just let people be at peace. (idc what y'all post on your profiles lmao, this is just my own take on it)

ANYWAYS BACK TO THE POST

So I know a lot of people are using this screenshot as evidence to support the other side (WHICH IS COMPLETELY VALID, IM NOT BASHING ANYONE ELSES HEADCANONS, THIS IS JUST HOW I SEE IT!!!)

BUT it can be debunked with one simple piece of evidence, that is if Experiment 1-0-0-6 is in fact Huggy (which he probably is considering the death message "Exp. 1006, isn't he wonderful" when you get killed by him, and in the tape about Exp. 1006 where you can hear Huggy screaming in the background [it's clearly him since it has the same sound that he makes when he jumpscares you].)

First off The trailer states: Experiment 1006. “the prototype.” He seems serviceable as the prime example for the type of vessel which we are trying to create. Despite his digestive tract being wired properly, the prototype finds no necessity for sustenance (unlike the others) All other experiments can only survive while subsisting on much larger portions

He himself finds no reason to eat, which heavily implies, he himself doesn't feel any sort of physical discomfort that makes him feel the need to eat. This is also even more implied considering they mentioned "Despite his digestive tract being wired properly"

Which implies that despite that, his body doesn't react to him not eating for long periods of time. So he just doesn't feel pain from it or anything.

Second, Huggy probably isn't the only one who's in those vents.

Poppy Playtime Mobile VS Steam Comparison and Review.

(ී ؀ී ) Before I get into the review and compare the Steam and Mobile versions of Poppy Playtime there’s something I’d like to mention.

Poppy Playtime on Steam is 10 GB while Poppy Playtime on Mobile is only 1.4 GB. The Mobile version graphics are not as detailed and the lighting is not as vibrant in comparison to the Steam version.

o( ^∀^ )o Which is totally understandable! That aside there are certain choices I do feel affect the experience playing the Mobile version that I will address my grievances with o(ﾟｰﾟ o). However understand this isn’t going to just be me ranting and bashing the visuals.

Negatives aside the game runs extremely smoothlyヽ(〃'▽'〃)ﾉ!!! You get use to the controls fast and they’re easy to use. The only thing I’d change is the location of the jump button. It felt a little off having it in the middle of the bottom screen.

I think if it was placed where I drew a red dot then navigating would be a little easier. This is such a small thing though that it really won’t affect your experience playing.

Also can I just say even with the more simplified style how good Poppy’s flower looks o(≧∇≦o)♡!!!

Anyway when it comes to the visual changes one I didn’t understand was the removal of lore. I get simplifying the environment but removing lore caught me off guard.

In the Steam version when you’re turning the electricity back on in the Power Room there’s originally a Kissy Missy poster. With the detail -

Do: NOT hide behind doors to scare Laith Pierre.

Which is at first a little funny ꉂ (˃̶᷄‧̫ॢ ˂̶᷅๑ ) until moments later we actually see Huggy Wuggy doing that exact thing. It builds a nice suspense and mystery while giving us more insight on Laith Pierre.

In the Mobile game it’s replaced by a Poppy poster we saw earlier.

( . _ .) This isn’t the only lore revealed through a poster that is removed.

In area we obtain the red grab pack hand there’s an orange tape with two employees talking on it. One named Rich is expressing his frustration with current work conditions.

“Nobody in this stupid company knows what they’re doing. Ugh, I swear I haven’t seen a single box in it’s place since they started flooding the storehouse with an orphanage junk. I get it, it’s a nice program and all - on brand. *sigh* It’s just hard to be happy about it when manufacturing’s on our necks about it, because we can’t find stupid Huggy boxes!”

The poster in the Steam version adds onto this using a Huggy Wuggy Poster. It has family friendly visuals and big old text saying, “Remember to take BREAKS!”. However in bottom text in small font it says, “Breaks longer than 10 minutes are not permitted.”

This poster is also next to a security camera. It’s a great push on showing how while Playtime Co. presents themselves to the public as family friendly their facility is all but that.

While the tapes already present this information I think the little visuals details like the Steam’s poster add so much life into this world unlike the Bron one.

The next design choice that really confused me was this hallway.

You originally see Huggy Wuggy’s arm outside the door and it almost slither inside. Going up reveals this long hallway. It the only direction we can go and nerve wracking ( ඉ _ ඉ )!!! Especially since it’s pitch black and first time players don’t know if they’re going to be jump scared only for BOOM! A pipe shoots out some steam near the player. It’s a short but affective scene.

However in the Mobile version the floor is so bright it’s hard to feel scared at all (°_ ° |||). I understand the floor details are also in the Steam version. I just think it would’ve looked better without it or with a much much darker shade of blue.

Gameplay wise I only ever encountered one issue. During the Huggy Wuggy vent chase scene I got stuck on two separate occasions. For some reason my character would be unable to move for a brief moment getting me killed.

FINALLY the star of the show ☆ Huggy Wuggy ☆!!!

Due to having to limit the details on his fur I believe they made him much darker to accommodate this. Problem is he’s SO dark it’s hard to even comprehend the death scene especially since it goes by so fast.

Honestly I actually recommend increasing the brightness up by 10-15% when playing the Mobile.

Another thing they did with Huggy Wuggy is simplify the death animation. Now it just looks like he head butts you which I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ♡(⸝⸝⸝°⁻̫° ⸝⸝⸝)!!!! It’s so goofy it’s great!!!

For those looking for a horror game maybe not so much (〃^_^)ゞ . . .

Everything listed is just personal preferences and my suggestions on what I think would make the Mobile version better.

My only actual complaint is this:

Poppy Playtime has progress points. Where the game will stop and pull this loading screen up. It saves your place incase you’d like to stop and reload later where you’re at. Along with help give the game time to load the next area.

I understand the Mobile version needs time to load the areas. However with Poppy Playtime being rather short having having six yes SIX breaks for the game ruins the flow. Poppy Playtime usually takes 30-40 minutes depending on the person. That’s a break every 5-7 minutes. Sometimes they happen so close back to back you’ll actually have only 2-3 minutes in between them.

(ভ_ ভ) It doesn’t help these saves happen in the middle of intense moments.

The biggest offender is in the middle of the Huggy Wuggy vent chase scene and the scene where you pull the box down on him afterwards. The game pauses after the vent chase scene to load the next area ruining all the intensity of the moment (ᇂ_ᇂ|||).

Worst of all about the loading screen between these two scenes is if you die before pulling the box down you’re taken to before the Huggy Wuggy vent chase. Then once you finish that have to sit though the loading screen again.

Conclusion ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿

If you’re a first time player then I highly recommend using the Steam version instead.

If you’re a fan of Poppy Playtime or have a younger sibling who wants a less frightening experience of the game then this app is for you! However be aware of the issue I listed above.

Bonus - Forgot to mention the only other change I can think of is they moved the location of the pink tape. Which isn’t a big deal.
