PROS & CONS
A fledgeling vampire of clan Tzimisce. A skilled fleshcrafter, especially for his age, but will not respect your fleshcrafting wishes over his own.
Enjoys being a vampire, and takes well to Sabbat's nightly lifestyle. No crying over the lost beauty of the sunrise or soul or humanity, or whatever the fuck gay shit Toreadors usually get up to, with him.
Somewhat unpleasant personality, clumsy and avoidant when attempting bonding, prone to viewing every interaction as a power struggle, can be manipulative. Tries to be better, sometimes.
Embraced at barely 19 and it shows.
Severe and fully unacknowledged PTSD from being trafficked as a teen, habituation to violence from early childhood, disorganised attachment style, unpredictable behaviour, and he's making all of this your problem.
Unless he likes you. 🤗
To be clear, it's still your problem. Just not on purpose.
Skilled hunter and prolific serial killer. Typically targets cartel members, but his definition of 'criminal' can get flimsy whenever he's hungry. Able and willing to share.
Heroin addict. Not a health concern to him as a vampire, but it does reflects on his personality.
Mortal family heads a criminal organization. Not even the only serial killer in his family, and his brothers don't have the blood-drinking excuse. In fact, you're probably in danger.
Daddy issues. Sire issues. Issues issues.
Physically short and severely underweight, but stronger than he looks like, quick and very flexible. Incredibly high manual dexterity, long and muscular tongue. Used to physical exertion to the point of collapse, likes to be outside.
Actually cleans up real nicely. Never actually bothers to do so.
Raging misandrist. Thinks men are ontologically evil, born wretched, and most of them only get worse from there.
Unfortunately for him, bisexual. Also, a virgin.
Likes small children and animals, and tends to be gentle with them and tolerant of their behaviours. Derides the idea that feeding on animals is a 'moral alternative' to human blood.
I'll be real with you, no matter who you are, he loves his mortal twin sister more than he loves you.

quick design note draft thingys for miss mari because I Am Never Satisfied With My Own Designs but she is very nice and i like her and i need to draw her more
just a fun headcanon obv, since the games always have set colors on the player characters, but i like to think of a lot of the way inkfish naturally present their colors as a genetic thing, especially in how tentacle colors work! mari's secondary/gradient color is always a warmer tone, but ruby and jade's are always a cooler tone, and some people (like squid sisters/OTH/etc) have totally unrelated colors for the main body of the tentacles and the actual ink color is in the gradient part at the end. i also like to think those traits are something you could get temporarily changed though, kind of like hair dye irl.
i also feel like there'd be a lot of little genetic mutations that end up in family lineages (like mari's eye color, in this example) but if it looks cool the squid fashion world ends up finding a way to artifically copy it so it's not actually very special to have those mutations naturally lol

TDI Advice wanted!
Hi TD fans! I'm planning a rewrite of TDI, the cast will be 18 for in-universe reasons (think legal contracts, I'm not gonna be weird about them). I'm aiming to make it more realistic and in line with the 2007 aesthetic, i.e era appropriate lingo & references, mobile phones are rare, homophobia is a bigger concern etc, but I'm wondering how far I should take it?
In the end I'll write what I enjoy, but should I lean more heavily into the gritty side of reality TV both on and behind the screen, include more notable sexism, potential slurs and creepy behaviours etc? The point is for there to be believable drama in-universe and the topics planned all have some merit to be present. I have some hard lines I'll never cross (see last tags on the post for those curious) and I want people familiar with the themes to feel seen rather than exploited reading it.
At the end of the day the cast are just youngsters getting to know each other and themselves. I want to humanize them and write believable conflicts without demonizing anyone, it is intended as a character driven story after all. But I also want to know what others think would make for an enjoyable read/take on the show.
The cast will inevitably diverge from their canon counterparts, but I am unsure how to handle certain characters, an example being LeShawna. She's clearly based on a racist stereotype, but her personality, background and lingo are a huge part of her appeal and I'd rather portray her in a better light than change her from the ground up. If you have any pointers I can keep in mind for her or anyone else you think is often portrayed poorly in canon or fanon then please let me hear your takes! This goes for non-TDI castmates as well, even if they don't show up in the story I wanna know what people think does and doesn't work for them and their tropes/traits cause it might still be relevant!

after starting working on tsip and making another round of characters based on existing self-inserts and self-based characters, i find it even funnier to compare the tsip main characters to their original inspirations. especially with cenryx and ceylox.
like. both cenryx and ceylox are autistic. but they still have subtle differences in how their issues present. cenryx is waaaaay more sensitive to unpleasant sensory input than ceylox is, but cenryx has a waaaay better grasp of indirect language/metaphor and social cues than ceylox does. cenryx is an incredibly skilled liar, meanwhile ceylox finds lying well nearly impossible and doesn't understand why someone would even do something like lie to him. ceylox has a certain amount of rizz just because of the sheer levels of autistic swag he gives off, while cenryx does everything in his power to suppress his obviously autistic traits whenever possible, even when completely by himself, and it noticeably makes him more difficult to approach in a social situation. cenryx can socialize much more adeptly than ceylox can, but ceylox can handle being overstimulated with much more grace than cenryx (cenryx gets IMMENSELY mean and belligerent when he gets overstimulated). cenryx is less interested in traditional gender and rejects any kind of simple binary interpretation of his gender, while ceylox identifies 100% as a man and just likes looking a little bit fem on the side with some eyeliner and long hair.
it's just funny because ceylox is 100% meant to be based on cenryx, and they do look similar in terms of appearance, but there are certain fundamental differences between them that are. interesting. because it makes them seem almost like opposites even though they are 100% meant to be similar.

Btw I've been thinking of giving monkey an actual monkey tail. I mean, it wouldn't be the oddest thing ever, we already have Fish and her kids who are, well, fish related, and we have Epona who's straight up a horse. OH and Fox, who's not that animal related as the others, but she's there. This not to mention the non human ones like Sammy or Sans Undertale and his son or Gabriela.
But at the same time part of the joke with Monkey was that he's NOT a monkey and is just mistaken for one for being short and hairy...... But I mean, fish kids aren't full on fish like her. Maybe Monkey is just part monkey. Maybe Monkey USED to have a tail but got rid of it.
I mean very insane of me to decide to give Monkey a sad backstory to a degree considering he's the most insufferable man ever but y'know...
I mean, maybe miitopia Monkey has a tail and this is why.
