Funny thing is I think Rei is pretty straightforward of a character to read. As the Big Good of ! He often gets maneuvered as plot requires. Which like... While reading, it's never shocking when he would extend a hand and/or meddle, cause it's like "haha yeah just Rei being Rei."

But as a result it looks like Rei only meddles when no one asks and goes like "children have to learn to walk on their own" when people do ask sometimes, which just make him seem like the most annoying character ever. 😂 Considering his past tho (godhood, Crossroads), completely understandable.

Also, like, if you think of his change of characterization after his defeat from 3rd person POV, it's pretty alarming. Like imagine one day your friend/brother just went like "actually I am a 200 years old vampire and I must sleep in a coffin do not bother me with your problems anymore this old man is tired"... Pretty alarming.

So I always wanted to know how everyone first reacted to the characterization change. Esp Ritsu and Keito. (If you got reading recs pls let me know.)

After I read Crossroads I had to sit staring at the ceiling for a bit. Cause to me they had the dynamic of "god who is trying to be human" and "human who is trying to play god" contrast. Which is really sad cause like... Of course they won't see eye to eye. Of course Keito, who felt limited by his own abilities, wouldn't get it. I do think that breakup was a necessary thing to have happened cause if Rei did end up following Keito's plans both of them would have been very miserable. And with Keito's personality there isn't really a way to let him down gently.

I just. I just found it hilarious that Rei made Keito an atheist... And that immediately after being rejected by one cult god Keito really internalized the lesson of "human must rely on the strength of human to bring forth revolution" said by Rei... And went off to kill another god (sorry Kanata) with his own strength... It all just strings together very well... It's kind of funny...

One thing about Rei that pissed me off was when Rei asked Anzu why she didn't produce Trickstars when they were working with Eve, an event that was explicitly not her job. He was like "as their producer you should be like their parent and tend to their every need" which is literally the opposite of what a professional relationship should entail. This is so hypocritical of him who occasionally be like "oh no this old man is tired goodbye" and hides in his coffin. Rei. Rei she already has a workaholism problem. What is wrong with you?? IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE RITSU TELLS ANZU TO WORK LESS AND SET HEALTHY WORK/LIFE BALANCE!

Anyway for solely the reason above Ritsu will always be the superior Sakuma in my mind. 😂

Mhmm especially when he’s got himself wrapped around like that^

He clearly doesn’t want to be bothered

It’s gonna be pretty early in the morning (for him atleast) so we’re gonna say around 8am

“psst Haru!” you gently start to shake him awake, voice sounding urgent

Haru just groans, burying himself deeper into the covers

“Haru! You have to wake up! My boyfriend’s here! You have to hide! Hurry!” You give him a push

He ends up rolling off the bed

Haru lets out a grunt, actually complying as you urge him under the bed

It’s really too funny lmao mans just wants his sleep

Makoto

Here we have another heavy sleeper

“Makoto...Makoto!” You whisper in his ear, shaking his shoulder

“Hmmm?”

You felt bad, really, for bothering him like this

“Makoto you have to get up, my boyfriend is coming!”

“Huh?” Is all a half asleep Makoto can muster as he begins to stir

“Makoto!!! You have to hide! Hurry he’s almost here!”

This is where Makoto shoots up, his body awake but his mind still groggy

“Ahhh! Who! Who’s coming?!” He feels around the sheets, panicking

You bite your lip, holding back your laughs as you try shoving him into a corner

“Hurry Makoto! My boyfriend is almost here!”

“...b-boyfriend...?” Makoto curls up in the space between the bed and dresser, his mind still trying to register your words

“Wait, boyfriend?!”

You carefully tried prying his arms off of your torso

It didn’t help that he was a tree hugger in his sleep

You took this opportunity to turn around to face him, slightly tapping his cheeks

“Hey Nagisa!” You whispered

“Nagisa wake up!”

“nnnhh ah 5 more minutes...(y/n)-chan...”

“No Nagisa you have to get up right now and hide! My boyfriend is coming!”

Nagisa sits up on the bed, rubbing his eyes

“What are you talking about (y/n)-chan...I am your boyfriend.” Nagisa wraps his arms around your torso once again, pulling you both back into bed

“Reeeeeiii! Hey Rei!”

After another long study sesh, Rei had crashed right on his desk, his body limp in the chair

“Reiiii!” You shook him again.

“What’s wrong (y/n)...I told you that we can do the rest tom...orrow...”

“Rei you have to hide! Like right now!”

“Hide?...why?”

“My boyfriend is here!” You back out his rolling chair, getting ready to push it into his closet

you can’t help but stifle a laugh as Rei’s head falls back on the chair, the boy mumbling incoherently in his sleepy state

You finally manage to push his chair in the closet, closing the door as you lean against it, slamming your hand over your mouth

“...boyfriend...WAIT BOYFRIEND?!”

Rin

The moment he came back from practice, Rin had crashed right onto the couch not even bothering to change his clothes

You sought this as the perfect opportunity to prank him

“Rinnnn!” You quickly rush by his side, urging him in hushed tones to get up

“Rin! He’s here! My boyfriend is here! Please you have to hide!”

“Hmmm?”

You shook him again and then pulled on his arm

“Baby you have to hide.”

“Hide?...but where?” Rin was like a little baby in his sleep making you go absolutely 😣❤️

“The shower! You can go hide in the shower! Just hurry before he comes!”

Rin grunts, letting himself get dragged by you into the bathroom

You push aside the shower curtain as Rin steps inside

A giggle accidentally slips out your lips as you pull the curtain back in it’s place

Poor Rin is so confused, rubbing his forehead as it finally hits him

“O-Oi!”

You held your stomach in laughter as he stepped out giving you a bemused look

“That’s not funny” he flicks your forehead, you laughing out an apology

“Okay but seriously Rin...shower.”

Natsuya

“Hey, hey, Natsu!”

Seeking out the perfect opportunity to play this prank, you took advantage of Natsuya’s dazed out state from his alcohol intake

He was currently napping in your shared bedroom, his flushed face in the midst of pillows with a blanket lazily draped over his torso

Entering into the bedroom, you made sure to prop up your phone in an ideal spot and pressed record as you quietly made your way to Natsuya’s sleeping form

“Natsuya!” You pulled off the blanket and turned him onto his back

“Natsu! Hurry baby get up!”

Just how much did he drink?

“Natsuya! Get up! You have to hide!”

Natsuya stirred, turning back onto his side, nuzzling further into the warmth of the pillows

You huffed before trying again, this time shaking him more aggressively, sometimes even lightly slapping his face

“Natsuya my boyfriend! He’s here, you have to hide Natsu! Hurry and get up!”

“Hmm?” Natsuya hummed in your direction

Eyes closed, natsuya grinned as he pulled you into his chest, nestling into the crook of your neck

1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?

So one night I just had a random thought about disturbing and teasing Levi, and this thirst just came to me naturally. I never expected people to also like this, so I decided to write a drabble to it.

There's literally no plot and context in that drabble at all, just you and Levi making out and getting cockblocked hehe.

I think what partly inspired me to write this is also me having this urge to see Levi's pissed off face!!!!

4: What’s your favourite line of dialogue?

I don't really have a favourite line in this drabble because I find the entire conversation between reader and Levi to be too funny haha. But if I had to choose a punchline or a memorable line, it would be this:

"Fine. Here, stop being petty and have a nipple, okay?"

Someone told me that is it time to feed the bratty baby and oh my gosh, I laughed so hard hahaha.

8: Did any real people or events inspire any part of it?

Connelly, Connelly, that was a funny nameeeee, swayyyyysss a bit back and forth as he tries to look for Rei in the crowd of people in the nice ass club they were at in Thailand, so many people, so, so many, but none Reiiiiii...a hopelessness moving through his drunk thoughtssss as he feels his brows softly knit in spite of himself even in spite of the bad bitchhhhh image he was supposed to be keeping, he was in publicccc, and rocking a sleek black, low cut suit that was cut perfectly to show off his bodyyyy, bodayyyyy, with the electric yellow stripes along the edges with the words of each component of the suit written in quotations on them to add that extra bit of edgeeee to what might otherwise be a sexy low-cut version of a classic look (tm), remembering he was too sexyyyyy to be depressiiiiii, even though he the despairrrrrr was there, because he had lost Reiiiiiiii in the club, the soft crease doing a quick Exit as he does his best to Compose himself, though allowing for doing a dramatic lamentationnnnnn in his mind as he sways a bit, before his drunk mind decides to Work a bit more in the moment and remind him...oh, phones exist, moving to text Rei to ask him where he wasssss, the club was so large and vasttttttt, the memory of the Mr. Krabs and Spongebob separated video coming backkkkkkk to him in spite of him from way back in the recesses of his memory, it was himmmmm, except he made it sexy, but still, continuing to try and Focus, focus, on getting this text Reiiii, a stove, is a stoveeee, no matter where you goooo....stopping just short of humming it out loud as he flashes a brilliantly radiant smile towards a few people looking his way who seemed to recognize him...way less than in the States it seemed but still there were a few and he had an Image to maintain...

Nagisa and Rei going fishing and Rei starts to get sick first but in the end Nagisa is the one who gets incredibly sea sick and ends up puking a lot. He gets embarrassed from it but Rei is there to help him with lots of TLC!

“I just need a minute.” Rei was leaning over the edge of the boat with a handkerchief over his mouth.

Nagisa was rubbing his back with a concerned look. “Rei… you okay?”

“I’m fine, really. I’m just waiting for it to pass.” Rei told him.

He was swallowing constantly and he felt his stomach reeling. The nausea was worse than he had experienced in a long time. He truly though he would have grown out of such a thing by then.

Rei felt his stomach lurch uncontrollably and he leaned further over the side of the boat. Nagisa held on to him to make sure he wasn’t about to fall overboard.

“I’m sorry.” He said guiltily. “I honestly thought I would have gotten over this…”

“Don’t apologize Rei.” Nagisa encouraged.

Rei burped softly into his handkerchief then felt his stomach lurch again. He heaved over the side of the boat and puked up his breakfast into the water. He coughed weakly and wiped his mouth. “Hey, I actually feel a bit better now.” He said with relief.“

Nagisa smiled widely. "Oh good!”

“Alright. I promised you we’d do some real fishing and gosh darn it we will.” Rei said with determination.

Nagisa’s eyes lit up and jumped up with his hands in the air. “Yay!”

Rei showed Nagisa how to set up the fishing line and he listened intently to Rei. He even managed to set up his own line by himself.

Once the lines were set up Rei sighed with a satisfactory nod. “And now, we wait.”

Nagisa looked up at him. “That’s it?”

Rei was confused. “Well… yeah?”

“Oh…” Nagisa sounded disappointed.

“But- the exciting part comes when we get a fish!” Rei tried to sound enthusiastic.

“Oh yeah!” Nagisa seemed to get his spirt back.

“In the meantime, what would you like to do?” Rei asked.

Nagisa thought hard, looking around the boat. “Oh- could you teach me to play Shoji!” He had seen that below there was a Shoji board.

“Sure!” Even Rei was getting excited after that.

They played Shoji for over an hour on deck, waiting for their lines to be bitten and by that point Nagisa had seemed to reach his limit.

He yawned as Rei step a particularly long time thinking about his next turn and he looked about readily to doze off.

“Nagisa… Nagisa?”

Nagisa shook himself out of daze and looked up at Rei.

“It’s your turn.” He said.

“Oh, right.” Nagisa stared down at the board for quite a while before Rei finally realized he wasn’t really playing anymore.

“Why don’t we stop for now?” He suggested.

“Oh, you don’t mind?” Nagisa tried not to make his disinterest too obvious.

“It’s fine! We can just do something else.” Rei put the game back in the box and went below deck to put it away.

Nagisa let out an inner sigh of relief that he didn’t have to play anymore and leaned against the side of the boat looking out at the water.

It was quite beautiful with the sun shining against the blue water but he had only been staring off at it for a minute when he suddenly felt the boat move underneath his feet. It moved only slightly but it somehow managed to throw off his balance.

It wasn’t a new feeling, as he was sure it had been happening the entire time but it was the first time he had really noticed it.

He felt strange for a moment from a jolt going though his stomach. But he forgot about it when he looked to his side and noticed that one of the fishing poles was twitching.

For a moment, he thought this odd, then he realized what was happening and got excited. “Rei! Rei! Come back!”

“What is it?” Rei ran back up to the deck. “Oh! We’ve caught one!” He unlatched the fishing pole and tugged on it.

“Is it heavy?” Nagisa was ramped up.

“A bit.” Rei began trying to reel it in. Then he suddenly lost his footing and was pulled forwards.

Nagisa grabbed onto him and helped him pull the fish up. The entire time they were jumping around on the boat trying to keep their balance and Nagisa found the movement was slightly unsettling.

He still enjoyed himself thoroughly though as they pulled the fish up and into the boat.

“Wow!” Nagisa’s eyes widened as it flopped around on the deck.

“Unfortunately, it’s not big enough to keep.” Rei said sadly and picked it up to throw it back.

“Aww! Really?” Nagisa was bummed.

“That’s alright! We’ll just set up a new one.” Rei tried to get him to cheer up.

As they were setting up a new line, Nagisa found himself feeling strange as he stood looking out at Rei and the open water.

He swallowed hard, then to his dismay, he finally realized what the feeling was. It was the same feeling he got when he had been riding in a hot car and driving on a curvy road for too long.

As much as he didn’t want to admit it, he was feeling seasick.

He hoped that it was just a temporary thing and that it would go away on its own but instead it only seemed to get worse.

After about an hour suffering through the feeling, he finally laid down on a lounge chair and closed his eyes.

“Tired Nagisa?” Rei chuckled. “I know standing around doing almost nothing can be pretty exhausting.”

Nagisa put his sun hat over his eyes and nodded.

Rei smiled and sat beside him in the sun to read a book.

Nagisa tried to sleep for about half an hour, but sitting still on the deck only made the motion of the boat even more obvious.

As his nausea increased he began finding it harder and harder to sit still and he ended up tossing and turning in the lounge chair. Suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder.

“Nagisa? Are you okay? Are you dreaming?” Rei’s soft voice was somehow calming and welcoming so Nagisa didn’t feel as nervous.

“I’m okay. Thanks.” He said, not daring to open his eyes for fear of feeling worse.

“If you’re sure.” Rei told him. “If we don’t catch anything in the next hour, I was thinking of opening some of the canned fish we brought along.”

Just the thought of eating fish at that moment made Nagisa’s stomach turn. “It’s okay! I want to wait until we catch something.”

Rei sounded hesitant. “Well… I’m not sure if we’ll catch anything before we have to get home…”

“It’s fine, really! I’m really not that hungry.” Nagisa insisted, still keeping his eyes closed.

“Alright… Nagisa?” Rei paused and waited for an answer.

“Yeah?”

“You’d tell me if something was wrong… right?”

“Of course.”

“Okay… just checking.” Rei sat back with his book again but he couldn’t shake the feeling he had that something wasn’t right.

After only another half an hour of enduring the nausea, Nagisa realized he was losing the fight with his body and that it was time to call it quits.

Luckily, Rei was all too familiar with the symptoms of sea sickness, along with being familiar with how Nagisa acted when he was sick.

“Nagisa?” Rei put his hand on his shoulder again.

“Mm?”

“You’re not feeling so great are you?”

Nagisa shook his head.

Rei sat on Nagisa’s lounge chair and stroked his arm. “Do you feel sick to your stomach?”

Nagisa nodded and Rei laid next to him on the lounge chair and wrapped his arm around him.

Nagisa curled up in a ball, clutching his stomach with a groan. “Reiiii. I feel like I’m ganna be sick.” He whined.

“It’s okay Nagisa.” Rei stroked Nagisa’s curly hair, pushing it behind his ear. “Do you need to right now?”

Nagisa nodded, still whimpering.

Rei helped Nagisa sit up and the moment he opened his eyes, his stomach lurched. A strange noise came out of his throat and his hand shot over his mouth.

Rei grabbed him and hurried him to the edge of the boat.

Nagisa gagged over the edge and his eyes watered.

“It’s okay Nagisa.” Rei stroked his back and Nagisa started to break into tears. “Don’t cry. It’s all going to be fine.”

“Rei… I don’t feel good.” He said again, this time in tears.

“I know, I know.” Rei coaxed. “It’s okay.”

Nagisa hiccuped a sob and let out a wet burp. Then he lurched forward and vomited over the side of the boat.

“That’s it. It’s all okay.” Rei spoke softly.

Nagisa let out a wet burp that brought up more liquid. He coughed as landed in the water and Rei wiped off a tear that had rolled down his cheek.

“Do you think you’d be able to sit down?” Rei asked.

Nagisa swallowed hesitantly, then nodded and followed Rei below deck.

Rei had Nagisa sit in a large lounge chair and gave him a cylindrical container. He sat in the chair with Nagisa, wrapping his arms around him.

Nagisa groaned and hid his head in Rei’s shoulder. “I don’t like being sick.” His voice was muffled in Rei’s shirt.

“I know.” Rei brushed his fingers through Nagisa’s hair.

Nagisa’s stomach bubbled and he felt a burp trying to escape. He turned away and let it out with embarrassment. Then tried to swallow again but ended up spewing his stomach contents into the vessel.

“There there.” Rei rubbed his arm up and down. “It’s okay.”

Nagisa laid back again with a pained expression on his face.

Rei placed his hand gently over his stomach and ran small circles over it.

Nagisa burped again and his cheeks turned red. “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be sorry.” Rei leaned his head against his and continued the rubbing motion.

“That makes it feel a bit better.” He told Rei.

Rei kissed him on the head. “I’m glad.”
