having soft thoughts of a sickie feeling guilty about puking up all the food caretaker made for them with so much love and care:

sickie having to maintain appearances, even as their poor stomach revolts agaisnt the heavy meal sitting inside it

sickie who can't help but grimace at the sight/smell/texture of the food, which makes caretaker think they might've messed it up

sickie clutching/hugging their middle as they try their hardest not to puke, thinking of the smile caretaker had on as they watched them eat, thinking they finally were starting to recover

sickie who has a hand clasped over their mouth, holding it tight to keep the food in no matter what, even to the protests of caretaker who's trying to tell them to just let it out, don't try to hold it

sickie who ends up losing the barely digested food over the blankets, sobbing apologies to a caretaker who's more worried about their well-being than anything else

After stuffing myself with a little too much heavy, greasy foods, my belly felt like I could explode. But, I remembered you guys in that moment and decided I should chug some soda along with my already gurgly tummy. My tummy has been recovering from a 24 hour bug, so messing with it probably wasn’t a smart choice but I digress.

I barely got any soda in me before a burp brought a big torrent of almost projectile vomit all over my hand that was rubbing my sick tummy. I didn’t record this unfortunately. I ran to the sink, burping along the way, and washed my hand thinking it might be over. I was wrong. I should’ve known I was wrong because I could feel the remaining food sloshing about in my tummy. I burped a couple times over the sink (its a steel sink and sounds weird when liquid hits it, so it echoed back at me). My tummy pressed against the edge of the sink and I gagged, burped, and coughed up the remainders of my mistakes.

Afterward I was left with a rumbly, queasy belly that didn’t stop causing burps even hours after I had puked. :)

- this dubbed comic (which is delicious by the way 10/10 recommend) put me on board horribly seasick alastor lol...i think he doesn't really get motion sickness otherwise but on boats he feels like he's dying. unbearable nausea that is not easily remedied by anything. i think when he was alive it was much more manageable. Just a little nausea, and certainly something he'd never admit being from Louisiana but now there's absolutely no hiding it :))

- i think he hates throwing up, not in the emetophobic way, i think he just hates dealing with it. in an "i need to get this over with as soon as possible" kind of way

- does Not ❌️ like people touching him when he's sick or injured. in general not a fan of physical contact but in these instances especially. however when he truly can't do anything to help himself, he'll slowly lower his walls to let people help him, but certain things are still absolutely off limits

- when things are really bad. high fever, awful injury... and he's not all mentally there he'll start talking about his mom, or when mistaking people taking care of him as his mother 🥺 absolutely heartbreaking to anyone around to witness it. he said it once to charlie and she cried her eyes out poor thing. she knows his mother used to take good care of him

- i also love the idea of him being really good at taking care of other people because of his mother 🥺 him being sweet and helpful is very off putting to the majority of the hotel residents lol angel dust is creeped out by it

I have another ask with a request for alastor headcanons as well so I'll make some more on that one :))

What are different reasons that someone vomits?

There are quite a few! Some include:

Food allergies

Food poisoning

Overeating

Stomach virus

Motion sickness

Appendicitis

Side effect of medicines

Concealed internal bleeding

Morning sickness during pregnancy

Severe pain, i.e. with kidney stones

Blockage in the intenstines

Being drugged or poisoned

oh bless those with sensitive tummies

Just think of a boy who went out on a trip somewhere that has rich and exotic food his tummy isn't used to and maybe he ate too much to begin with but filled up on desserts anyways because he's not very good a gauging how much space is left in his belly and maybe to compensate with the new foods that caused his tummy to ache he drinks lots of water as he eats which overfills him even more. his tummy is overfull and sloshy and aches from the strain of everything inside of it and he quickly realizes he is too full. too full to keep everything down. suddenly all his dinner and water doesn't feel so great sitting in his belly and a sudden ache lurches him forward and his dinner comes rushing back up.

imagine them projectile vomiting onto the closed bathroom door 🥺 they really tried to make it but didn't expect it to be closed. maybe it's the middle of the night and they couldn't see. they're humiliated and don't want to wake their partner, but they feel really bad and it's more than they can take.

Horses aren't able to vomit, do you think centaurs suffer the same issue?

I have figured their digestive system as a two part system with the human stomach as the first stage and the horse stomach as the second, and looking up the ACTUAL reason horses can't throw up (intense esophageal muscles) I think the answer would be.. kind of? I think they would be able to throw up whatever is in their first stomach like any human, but if it gets to the second stomach it would get.. more complicated.

Like with medical care and certain drugs they would be able to relax the lower stomach sphincters enough to get stuff up but that would SUCK A TON for so many reasons and be rough on the human stomach as it gets hydroblasted by the mass of a horse stomach, but also probably wouldn't be as effective since I think horse's stomach muscles aren't as strong or in the correct orientation to expel contents like humans can (We are the upchucking kings)

So in short, yes - but anything beyond the smaller human stomach is TOO BE AVOIDED.

the fair is in town where i live, which has got me thinking about cable knit sweaters, hot sweet drinks, apple cider donuts, and tummy aches. imagine your sweet sweet boyfriend dragging you excitedly from greasy food stall to greasy food stall. after the funnel cake stand and a candy apple you warn him to take it easy. he tells you the fair is over after tonight, so he has to eat everything in one night. after all, he won’t be able to get it again until next year. you shrug.

after a box of popcorn and a visit to pet some goats, your boyfriend looks like he is slowing down. you’re grateful for this, knowing how much of a baby he can be when he eats too much, but then you see his eyes light up and before you know it he’s got cotten candy in one hand and a corn dog in the other. you don’t understand how one man can stomach so much sugar and grease, but he seems to take it in stride. soon he is holding too empty sticks, wandering ahead of you and then returning with a cheesesteak.

you want to do some rides. in fact, you want to kiss your boyfriend at the top of the ferris wheel. you step into the line as your boyfriend chokes down his last bite of cheesesteak. he’s looking a little pale now, and has somehow broken a clammy sweat in the autumn weather. the ride operator locks you and your boyfriend in. you notice the lap bar pressing down on your boyfriend’s stomach. he’s a husky guy on a good day, but now he’s swelled up underneath his sweater. as the ride starts its rotation you notice he’s gotten a bit quiet, so you cozy up to him and kiss down his neck. he gives you a weak, tired smile, looking a little glazed over in the eyes.

you ask him what’s the matter, although you already know the answer. he groans, takes your hand, and places it on the crest of his belly, admitting that he might have overdone it. you coo sympathy and start rubbing circles on your silly little boyfriend’s tummy.

the ferris wheel comes to a stop at the top. it’s a rickety old thing put together with duct tape and gum. it starts rocking back and forth. your boyfriend breathes shallow in his chest and makes a panicked face.

“i don’t feel so good” he whimpers, and you fear for the people below you.
