Consider, if you will, the aesthetic ocean goth (aka sea goth, not to be confused with beach goth):
Pirates (gay ones, with ruffled shirts)
Mermaids and sirens
Shipwrecks
Lighthouses
Fucked up sea creatures and mythological ocean monsters (Kraken, Cthulhu, megalodon)
Leaning on a ship's railing, staring contemplatively at a featureless sea at twilight
Standing on a cliff overlooking the sea as a storm whips up, thinking evil thoughts
The best shades of blue and black
Twilight Zone. Midnight Zone. Abyssal Plain.
The majesty of a tall wave in a wild storm
A woman waiting for her husband to come home from the sea
Old timey diving suits and diving bell
Ancient association with chaos and the void
Like, for me, the sea conjures a melancholy and awe and danger that seems a good match with the overall goth vibe
