That feeling of getting your car paid off.
And getting rear-ended.
Thankfully the kids weren't in the car.
Happy Monday.

Did some more audio recording today while out walking with my wife. I was very glad to find that my H1n Zoom (great gadget by the way, and no the brand didn't pay me to say that :P ) records outdoor ambience very well, I was able to pick up cricket sounds, birds, and a water fountain.
However this brought some new challenges as well - once I'm outside my house I can't control the sound environment and as a result I kept picking up wind noise and the occasional car or AC unit as well.
I'll have to practice and experiment more to see how to deal with the wind issue. The issue of cars and people is a little easier as I just need to pick times and locations that have less of other humans around.
I found this article that I'm hoping can get me a good solution to the wind problem, so I thought I'd share for anyone else who is new to sound recording as well.
As a side note, I'm also looking forward to figuring how to make my ambient recordings loop seamlessly. Like making seamless textures, it's a concept that sounds like magic, so I'm eager to learn how the process actually works!

Come Morning Light (you and i'll be safe and sound) while listening to Safe And Sound(capital cities) is so. Auh
theyre the same but so different to the ghosts they loved and remember. the memories drenched in blood and hurt so much- but now theyre right there side by side again. whole and alive. they dont know what to do about it.
they want the other to be the same kid they trained with, the one from happy memories, promising they'll always be safe and sound by eachother's sides- but that kid is dead. the memories tainted red. it hurts, theyre angry and shut off, dont know how to read eachother like they did- their sense of saftey in the other that was left to rot in death, rediscovered as ruins needed to be rebuilt. they want it so bad it hurts, on top of all the hurt they already refused to let go of

Tarot question, the high priestess!
The high priestess: what is your dream date?
Well, since it didn't say it had to be a first date I'm gonna say this would be with someone I've come to feel safe with but I'm still getting to know: we have a whole day set aside, and with a parameter of going at most maybe 2 hrs outside our city, we each pick a place that represents something abt the core of who we are. So I take them to the closest biggest body of water and tell them about growing up in Florida and how the ocean knows me in ways humans never can. Maybe they take me to a random town they've never been to before and we go antiquing bc they like seeing new places rather than old, and antiquing is what they did with their grandma growing up. Or, idk, they have us hike to the highest point within the radius and tell me how they like hikes with a challenge because when their legs burn and their heart rate increases they feel wild, like they belong there in the forest. And while we're driving we both play songs for each other that have meant something to us in our lives, taking turns, telling stories, their song reminds me of one from when I was 9 that I forgot existed, they haven't listened to this genre in ages and start remembering all the songs they used to love. When we get back to our city we get ice cream. I go home buzzing and dance around my apartment with my cats to one of the songs they shared.

OK last ofmd thought of the night:
I about died when I heard Timber Timbre playing over [redacted].
They're my go-to spooky time music, and I'm thrilled that lots more people will be seeking them out now.

Some pictures I took on my day trip to Greenport, New York! It was an amazing day to grab some lunch on the water and walk around town to cute, little shops with a few family members.
The view on the ferry was beautiful! The sun was out, the water was calm and the breeze was just right. The ferry ride back home, we saw a submarine going out for hurricane Lee, I’ve never see one, it was amazing and massive!
Sunflowers at a farm stand, I bought some for my mom! She deserves them and doesn’t receive them very often. The bees was buzzing all over the stand! They had sunflowers, apples and some veggies.
A double buggy! That was pretty awesome to see, it’s definitely not something you see everyday. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one.

Trying to convince my mother that a massive 7ft stone fountain that would take up 33% of our canned sardine-esque suburban yard and would probably require a large loan is a great idea and would have no negative consequences financially or anything.
