Greetings, everyone, our contestants have been finalized, and I want to provide a certain opportunity before the preliminaries begin. Namely, to provide additional propaganda for competitors in need of it. So, I have created a form to collect this new propaganda, and a list of both preliminary and non-preliminary participants under the cut. An asterisk next to a name indicates they have fewer than three pieces of propaganda, which is the amount that will be included in each poll. This form will be open for the duration of the tournament. You can make as many submissions you want for any character.

NOTE: The order of participants does not reflect the bracket matchups. Preliminary matchups will be announced next week, and the complete bracket will be announced after the preliminary round is finished.

UPDATE: Additional characters have been added in bold because I failed to fill out the bracket by counting incorrectly. One has been added to the preliminary round, and the others are regular competitors.

Hello everyone! A bit of self-promo:

tldr; if you have thoughts about math and care about improving math education and supporting education research please consider being a participant in my thesis research by doing a short interview! Must be 18 or older to participate.

I am currently working on my thesis on Mathematics Communication. I am exploring how mathematicians effectively communicate (or fail to communicate) their work with different audiences and how that affects the public image of mathematics and what maths education looks like. One thing I am especially interested in is how this all has been affected by social media and the digital age.

An important piece of my thesis is interviewing professionals who work with mathematics in different ways, be it as a historian, researcher, teacher, as well as math communicators (tv personalities, math-based influencers, math YouTubers, authors), as well as students of all kinds, math focused and not.

If you fall into any of the above categories especially students, and especially if you think you have unique/interesting perspectives/experiences with mathematics, please consider dm’ing me to be a part of the study. I truly believe this is a really important and under-researched area and the more diverse perspectives I get the better it will be!!!!

Participating would entail a single interview, conducted online at your convenience, and participants have the option to remain completely anonymous.

Each fic will have either two pieces of standalone art pieces, or one page of comic. That is the minimum, so if someone wants to go further with what they want to do, that's perfectly okay. We just need what's the required minimum to be finished and polished by posting day.

Recruiting Research Participants

Hello everyone! Please consider participating in my dissertation study. Additionally, please feel free to share this with your friends.

You are invited to participate in a research study. To be eligible for the study, you must be at least 18 years old, be able to write and read in English, have a valid email address, and be able to complete an online questionnaire. Additionally, you must identify as a woman. You cannot participate in this study if you have a history of an eating disorder or if you are pregnant. You will be asked to answer questions about your demographics, thoughts, and feelings. Then, you will view a photo slideshow and complete a brief writing activity. Following the writing activity, you will be asked to answer more questions about your thoughts and feelings. The study will take about 15 minutes to complete. You will not receive any sort of compensation for participation in this study.
