I doubt this'll get far enough to reach anyone who might have anything kicking around but yelling into the void has worked before (e.g. Supernatural, The X-Files, bonus X-Files):

Back in June 2024 TV Writing added a nice little set of 12 Xena: Warrior Princess scripts.

I made the four scripts Cousin Liz shared many years ago into pdfs and sent them to TV Writing, they were added in October 2024.

In December I stumbled on a new upload of the 2008 Photobucket images of "The God You Know" shared by LadyKate63 and made the draft where all of the page numbers were visible into a pdf. I sent that along with the first and last of season one to TV Writing:

Finally, my question:

I know this question has nothing to do with the monkey king, but do you know why did some immortals go against Jiang Ziya in the investiture of the gods? I was always confused about the conflict between the immortals.

I'm not very knowledgeable in Investiture of the Gods. I've only read a really bad English translation once, and because there are so many characters and events, fully understanding the story demands multiple readings. I had to consult this English language summary of the novel, as well as read through the book to reacquaint myself.

Early chapters do mention immortals swooping in to save various characters at different points. But Grand Tutor Wen began bringing in Taoist disciples to fight Zhou forces in chapters 38, 40, and 43. The famous ten array traps are mentioned in chapter 43, and their creation was spurred on by Shen Gongbao. He apparently went to the ten immortals to request help to fight Zhou forces after his infamous encounter with Jiang Ziya in chapter 37. It just snowballs from there.

If you do go watch The Wild Robot, (and you should because it is GORGEOUS,) I am begging you to please read the books at some point. I love the movie so goddamn much, but the books are a little bit tonally different in a way that I think really matters, and you'll have a better understanding of what's going on. Not that you wouldn't otherwise, because the movie does a BEAUTIFUL job telling the story, I just really think you should read the books too

a while ago i posted about a screenshot found in a pdf of an example animation grid with some old maxis creatures. in both screenshots its called the AVG Test Suite

the content creation in spore pdf found on Andrew Willmott's site had yet another screenshot of this turns out ! though it shows a lot less stuff. it also seems clear that this is from a much earlier version of the game, and in fact the top bar says its from january 23 2007 (the other screenshot is from april 8 2008)

the creatures here are from the test drive seemingly, instead of their actual pngs like in that other screenshot, and none of them seem to be maxis creatures as in the final game (even though a lot of them have already existed by 2007)

mouth_b1_200 and longlimbs_B1_100 are kind of curious because the way the parts are colored resembles the older renders found in the comic book creator for example, like with alderbrook here. which checks out with this being from early 2007

these animation names are heavily condensed and i dont think any of them exist in final under these names. it seems like theyre civ stage animations though

while trying to find one of these animations by just a distinct string in it i found this in properties.trigger lmaooo

edit: oh wait the animation names actually refer directly to curmudgeon, flowery and kissass! so this is related! the animations still dont exist in final though

This seems kind of unlikely, but since a few of you have bookbinding experience I thought I'd toss it out there:

I'd like my next practice bind to be a favorite novel, but most of the novels whose full text is easily available are also easy to find as beautiful clothbounds, and thus I already own them. If I bound a favorite classic, my efforts would be redundant. This leaves me with (a) binding a B-tier favorite or (b) attempting to bind something outside the public domain. I'm trying to figure out how feasible (b) would be for me now.

Does anyone know of a method that could be used to harvest text from ebooks into Word or similar? Or can anyone even recommend some less legitimate resources for getting ahold of these texts with the formatting intact?
