Will you walk into his parlour?
#💟#Digital art#Art#Scriabin#Spider#Snake Charmer#It's a bit funny to put that tag with no snakes present#Tbqh I completely forgot arachnophobia was a thing until I saw it mentioned in a tag#I was so caught up in the euphoria of loving spiders I forgot arachnophobia was a thing#I've got ''spider'' handled but I can add other tags if needed!#So I've settled on two spiders for the time being: the Brazilian White Knee and the Bold Jumper#Remember how last time I was like ''Well obviously the Black Widow''? Yeah about that lol#They're still an absolutely gorgeous spider but there were two issues - the females (while gorgeous) don't have pedipalps#And pedipalps were basically the deciding factor of actually following through on this idea lol so fairly important#Okay fine well what about the males? Pfft#Have you seen Black Widow males? They are the goofiest little spiders ♪ And their pedipalps are round ♫#So that was a very quick disqualification lol#So instead a tarantula and a jumping spider ♥ My favourite Jumper in fact! 💕 I like Brazilian White Knees too but just normal-like haha#Both have their own charms - BWKs have that classic spindly spider look while still being fluffy and cute ♥#And I'm able to translate the shapes I've learned for his wings into that style of legs decently well so added bonus!#But Bold Jumpers have those quintessential buff Jumper front legs! They've got natural chibi proportions!#Plus that spooky back-pattern face hehe ♪#And not to knock the BWK's chelicerae but you really can't beat that iridescent blue-green ♥ Not that it's featured here lol#But the important part is that both species have prominent pedipalps! So I'm happy with either hehe ♪#As you can see here I haven't pinned down any specific clothes - I'd like to give him a proper wardrobe vs. Naga!Scriabin's nudity lol#A seamstress type creature requires a large number of outfits!#I do like the midriff & loincloth look hmm mix between practical and visual metaphor lol#Oh yeah and he's still shorter than Edgar regardless of species lol his center of gravity is lower#Not exactly difficult to find ways to be taller all the same haha

YOU GUYS LOOK AT THIS WOLF SPIDER BURROW
Tumblr media
Probably as big as a quarter. I’ve seen The Beast’s face and something told me they’d been there since the beginning of time. I want nothing more than to observe them in their whole being

About Angel and spiders
Did you know that some jumping spiders eat other spiders? Not during mating ( though that one raises a question whether or not Angel's preference of bottoming can be analogous to female spiders, aka "dance and give me gifts or I'll eat you"). Portia spiders hunt other spiders, often by pretending to be caught and trashing in the webs to lure the web owner out. Oh, they also follow laser dots like cats do, and have really fast-acting venom because they don't restrain their prey with webs
I HAD A WHOLE THING TYPED OUT AND NOW ITS GONE 😭
Okay, retyping: I knew about the venom being used to paralyze prey since they don’t rely on webs to capture them, instead using more of their jumping. I did NOT know about them eating other spiders! And the way you described the portia reminds me of a damsel in distress rouse, which is something I can definitely see Angel doing 😂
Also the laser dot this is so interesting! And now I need to think of a situation with him and Husk where that could come out.
Some other jumping spider (and general spider) things I’ve found too
-Jumping spiders sleep by hanging on a single thread
-Jumping spiders can jump up to 40x their body length, and attach silk before jumping or a surface to act as a precaution and/or break
-Spiders don’t have vocal cords, but instead produce sounds by interacting/vibrating other objects
-Spiders can regenerate legs (often lost in molting), pedipalps (pincher looking things), mouthpieces, and silk spinners
-Fur holds air, allowing them to have an additional temporary air supply when underwater
-Can essentially use silk as a parachute, “ballooning”
-Grip walls using hair on feet, which have grip strength up to over a 100x body weight
-Sensitive to infrared radiation and low frequency (80-400 hz) sounds
-Mentioned in previous post but they lack noses, tongues, and ears , instead perceiving that stuff though chemoreceptors (smell/taste) and hair cells (hearing) on legs

Can I request headcanons for Raphael, Haarlep, Kar'niss, and Zevlor with oblivious gn crush?
Head In The Clouds
([all separate] Raphael, Haarlep, Kar'niss, Zevlor x GN unspecified Tav)
Tumblr media
Banner credits in alt!
Notes/warnings: both SFW and Mature (no exact NSFW, marked for safety), flirting, failed seduction (Haarlep being an Incubus), somewhat manipulative(? Maybe???) behavior, suggestive themes, confused characters, dancing, self questioning/self doubt, extremely short mention of canonical death, close proximity/touching/hugging, obviously mentions of spider anatomy, Kar'niss is deranged and I don't know how to emphasize that, library dates (but Tav doesn't know that), mentions of the Infernal language in DnD, reading together, Zevlor tries to teach you a new language, not-a-real-date turns into a real date
I swear, the vast majority of BG3 fans see a pair of horns and their eyes nearly pop out of their skull. Me too!! Also I decided to make these short scenes, just as a treat for myself really.
-- Raphael --
Oh dear, he wasn't expecting this. Here he was, in his full cambion form, in the middle of the House of Hope, teaching you how to ballroom dance, and you weren't aware he had some feelings for you? How foolish could you get, little mouse? Yes, he fully was planning on taking your soul before he warmed up to you this past two days after letting you see his marvelous self, but now he couldn't be so certain. You were smiling as if you were still merely friends- no, only acquaintances! He wouldn't show the dissatisfaction his face, not even when you nearly stepped on his tail while trying to teach you the Viennese Waltz. Of course he had been holding you even closer than what the dance had called for, but that was his mistake, and he'd rather be bathed in holy water than blame you for it. "That's it, little mouse, very good." The demon whispered low in your ear. "How about we try a Foxtrot next, hmm?"
-- Haarlep --
If he was honest, now that you had warmed to him, something deep in the pit of his soul felt like perhaps it wasn't worth just sleeping with you once. Did he hate this new emotion? Oh absolutely, there's not a moment where he doesn't know how to react. He wasn't exactly used to actually loving someone-- were Incubi really, truly capable of love? Whatever, Raphael wasn't home, and it was the perfect opportunity to get you in his master's bed for an evening. Hopefully that would remove this-... Whatever this is. When the massive demon placed his hands on your waist and pressed your back against his near bare chest he purred out the honeyed tone he was so well known for. "Such an exquisite little mouse, you'd be a favorable meal. Come to bed with me, won't you?" Except that didn't happen. You had turned your head to him to answer, not a single hint of voluptuous desire in your eyes. "Now that I think of it, I could use a moment to lie down. Would you like to nap then?" Quite obviously he didn't expect that in the slightest. Much like his master, he didn't show much in his expression. Only a beat of silence before a rather content reply. "... Yes, a nap would actually be quite delightful about now."
-- Kar'niss --
The poor drider was quite upset, how come his chosen beloved didn't see how much he adored them and everything they ever touched? Was it because he was unsightly? Was it because he was cursed with his semi-chitinous body? In reality, it was probably because you just thought he was thankful you saved him from his demise, which he was! But even now as he hunkered down to hold you close to his chest, even using his pedipalps to keep you close. "Please, my savior, I need you!" Unlike the other times he grabbed on to you, this one felt proper; he was being gentle. His chin rest upon your head as a low growl softly reverberated in his throat. The bitter smell of old moss hit your nose like a freight train, but he didn't let go or tighten his grip. "Bless me with your warmth, just for a moment." You couldn't hear his next words, only mumbling as he was slowly losing the ability to hold himself together. "Please, one day you will love me too. Silly bug, one day I'll have you in my web, just you wait."
-- Zevlor --
While this wasn't a date in your eyes, and since he didn't tell you that it could be considered one either, Zevlor was slightly anxious. Who wouldn't, though? He brought you to a rather nice library, and he was worried how you would even consider going on something like a date with him. Then again you were sitting in his lap as he was trying to teach you some Infernal writing. The book laid in your lap as his arms came in front of you to point out the rather intricate looking letters. "That right there says 'Charming', I know the look a little close together." He placed his hand over yours and helped you point to the word, helping you pick out all eight letters of the word. "Does that mean the word I just read a moment ago spelt 'charred'?" You ask with humor in your voice. You could hear Zevlor give a delighted huff behind you, trying not to breathe on your neck. "That is correct." He slowly moves his hand away from yours. The tingle of your skin still lingered on his palm. "I think we might be reading a cookbook. I think this is... Beef Wellington? Would you like to make it together some time?" Hope was evident in his tone, but you couldn't tell if it was from the prospect of spending time together of making something for dinner.

The Salii’Qi - Saliinthia’s Sophonts
The primary sophont species residing on the warm, Earth-like world of Saliinthia are the Salii’Qi, a race of strange mammalian-insect creatures. They have dispersed into four main subspecies, two sedentary groups who live in the forests and islands respectively, and the two nomadic groups who call the grasslands and deserts home. Through this blog I will delve deep into their various cultures, religions, technology, and day to day lives living on Saliinthia!
Basic Biology
The Salii’Qi evolved from intelligent, largely carnivorous pack hunters, with the grassland subspecies being the oldest ones. They have intelligence equivalent to that of human beings, though tending to be better at problem solving. Their mammal-like biology gives them warm blood and dense bones, though their skeleton is derived from a graphite filled exoskeleton similar to that of insects, that was slowly internalized over the course of millions of years. They are egg layers, and have a complex life cycle not unlike that of an Earth caterpillar or beetle.
Salii’Qi have three sets of eyes, two are simple and detect movement and light only, while the third pair is complex and has an expanding and contracting pupil like Earth’s vertebrates. They hear through bright colored ear flaps held up by cartilage, able to swivel and pin to show emotion or focus in on certain sounds.
Salli’Qi have four pairs of limbs, two are used for walking while the other two are used for physical manipulation. One pair of limbs are attached to the skull. These “arms” evolved from pedipalps, now used for eating and handling weapons or other objects. The pedipalps are weaker than their forearms, so they usually use those for heavier work like lifting large objects. With the evolution of centaurism in these creatures, they lost a lot of flexibility in their backs, and so can no longer keep their forearms on the ground for long periods of time.
Tumblr media
The skeleton of the Salii’Qi have a dark color due to the high amount of graphite present in their bones, with black teeth stronger than ours. Their bones are dense and very similar to ours, although the ribs are free floating and connected with cartilage. Some of the vertebrae located near the end of the body are fused, which aid in supporting the back. Ancient relatives had a connected skeleton below the skin, which resembled that of insects. To allow for more flexibility and dexterity, those bones have now been reduced to cover less area.
Tumblr media
Salii’Qi have organs very similar to ours, but have a unidirectional respiratory system. They breathe in through two spiracles beneath their eyes, and after passing through the lungs, it is exhaled through the two spiracles placed behind the first pair of leg’s shoulders. This allows faster replacement of oxygen in the bloodstream, fueling their insect-like biology.
Their digestive system extremely similar to ours, the only notable difference being the tiered stomach, which allows for tough protein rich plant matter to be digested.
Salii’Qi have a gonochoric reproductive system, meaning they have two sexes. Both sexes have bright colored ear flaps and antennae, but during the spring the male coloration deepens for mating. Females are slightly larger than males, and have duller colors. Depending on the culture, females may take multiple male partners during the mating season, or only keep one partner for their whole life.
Tumblr media
Subspecies
The Salii’Qi are spread over four main subspecies, and are regional variants. As mentioned before, the nomadic grasslanders were the first successful variants, which then radiated into the forest, desert, and island subspecies. As the names imply, they live in settlements and groups around specific biomes they are best adapted to.
Tumblr media
The foresters are mostly a sedentary group, and also physically the largest. They eat the most fruit and plant matter out of any other , and have learned how to farm and selectively breed crops. They have long, thin limbs for reaching up into the vegetation, and upturned simple eyes to see differences in the shadows above. They are skittish and try too keep to themselves, but enjoy trading their crops with other groups. Grasslanders are nomadic, but have specific areas they return to during nesting season. They follow the herds of large grazers who roam the grasslands, using their good stamina to their advantage. They are a proud and strong group, seen as kind and humorous. They are artisans, creating unique goods and clothing out of hides and pelts for trading with other groups. Desert dwellers live in smaller groups, and instead of hunting, they primarily ranch and travel with herds of domesticated livestock. Desert Salii'Qi forage desert fruits, roots, and other plant matter before a harvest. They travel to feeding grounds during the fall and winter, but return to fertile river communities during the spring and summer where plants for livestock flourish along the banks. During this time, the desert Salii-Qi raise their children to take on their next journey. Islanders are small, social Salii'Qi who settled on an archipelago millions of years ago. They are the most well adapted group and the second oldest subspecies. Islanders have partially webbed feet, seal-like fur, powerful limbs, and higher back spiracles which makes it easier to spend time in the water. They primarily feed on fish and island fruit which they've selectively bred. Islanders mainly spearfish, but also use boats for fishing and trade. They routinely voyage to the mainland to trade goods, and some have even settled on the mainland shores.

Medieval Scorpion Rating System
I was thinking last night that I wanted one of these if I'm going to be collecting images of medieval scorpions. Kind of idly considering it.
This morning, one of my mutuals tagged me in another picture of a medieval scorpion, and I thought I had better write something up if this is going to be a Thing. (I've spent too long teaching introductory composition classes to be comfortable scoring things without a rubric.*)
So. Medieval scorpions will be rated on Accuracy and Pleasantness. Accuracy is a checklist, Pleasantness is vibes. As follows.
Accuracy
Is it some kind of Small Scuttling Beaſtie? (1 point)
Does it have pincers? (1 point)
Does it have some sort of exoskeleton or shell? (1 point)
Does the tail have any kind of visible stinger? (1 point)
Limb count. (1 point)
As far as limb count goes, the target number is 10. I know that the pincers are pedipalps and don't really count as limbs -- or, rather, I'm pretty sure that's the case; I'm a medievalist, not an entomologist. I don't think medieval artists are going to recognize that, however: I'm pretty sure the scorpion's "eight legs and, separately, two claws" configuration would not strike them as meaningfully different from, e.g., the lobster's "ten legs, two of which are claws" setup. Also using 10 makes the math easier. So each scorpion starts with one point in this category, then I will subtract a tenth of a point for each leg/claw/limb under or over the target number.
Pleasantness
The key question is "how would I react to seeing it in person?" Scored out of five points on the following scale:
0: I will see this foul Beaſt only in my nightmares, gods willing.
1: Get it away from me immediately.
2: This thing is ugly as hell but not actively upsetting.
3: I don't want it in my house, but it is a perfectly fine Beaſt and I do not object to it. (This is where a regular scorpion scores.)
4: This is an aesthetically pleasing Beaſt and I would be thrilled to see it in person.
5: I would love it and squeeze it and call it George.
Penalties
Subtract one point for any of the following wild inaccuracies:
Wings
Obviously mammalian (requires fur and four legs to count)
This is identifiable as another, different real-world animal that is not a scorpion.
So there you go. I have a System now. And yes, I will take submissions of medieval scorpions -- tag me in a post or send it as an ask or something. (Please include the manuscript number or a link or something.) I'll also go back, rate the ones from the original effortpost, & throw those in the queue.
* "But Mac," you may say, "on the podcast you and Zoe regularly rate medieval stories, and I've never heard you mention a rubric there." If I had been smart, I would have made one when we started. I just feel like it's too late now, since we have dozens of stories that have been rated without a rubric. I'm not making that mistake again.

Races Among the Stars 8: Haan
When we think of Bretheda’s many sapient species, one probably thinks of either the barathu or one of the many beings populating it’s numerous moons.
However, it’s easy to overlook that there is another species sharing the skies with everyone’s favorite form-altering jellyfish. I speak of course of the arthropoid haan, who sail through the skies of the gas giant on woven silk balloons! With these flotation devices and silken sails, haan can be shockingly agile in the air in their hunt for prey.
Although just as intelligent as other sapient species, the majority of haan society is extremely traditionalist, eschewing all but the simplest tools and weapons to hunt and roam the clouds of their homeworld as they have for millenia.
However, there are plenty of haan that leave their home to travel the stars and interact with other species across the galaxy, where they find their intuitive understanding of aeronautics gives them an edge as pilots.
This does come with a major drawback, as those who leave Bretheda are effectively exiled from their people, and written off as dead by their own families, unable to return. There is talk of these exiled haan creating a new colony home on a different gas giant, far from those traditionalist values, but most fear the upset that would be caused if they try recruiting directly from their kin still living on Bretheda.
Full disclosure, the appearance of the haan in their natural habitat versus the one wearing space armor… they almost look like different creatures. The haan native doesn’t look like it should be able to stand upright… Ah, but that’s just me.
In any case, haan resemble eight foot long, four-limbed arthropods with impressive mandible-like pedipalps near their mouths. They sport many barbs and bristles on their exoskeleton, which can be safely trimmed and groomed, fulfilling much the same role as hair does on mammalian species. They also possess silk glands which are equipped to create hollow balloons filled with light gasses from their internal stores to float themselves or whatever they attach them to in the air. Additionally, striking surfaces on their legs also allow them to ignite these gasses, making them an effective weapon as well.
As mentioned above, traditional haan society is very traditionalist and insular, eschewing many modern wonders in favor of retaining the hunter-gatherer society of their ancient past. While this is perfectly fine and viable, it does alienate and disown those haan who choose to join the wider galaxy, leaving them to struggle with their own cultural identity.
Strong and surprisingly agile despite their bulk, the haan’s focus on tradition over innovation has left most unused to exploring new ideas.
Their ability to ignite their own gasses allows them to have a strong weapon against multiple foes in an emergency.
While traditionalist haan are able to outright fly with their balloons and sails (not to mention sneak balloons onto foes to disrupt them), adventuring haan rarely do so, though they can reflexively craft a balloon on the fly to slow their fall in an emergency.
With their strength and dex, haan can excel in any combat role, favoring everything from soldier to evolutionist, solarian, vanguard, and even nanocyte. Outside of that, their dex bonus is also very useful for operative and even precog as well. Their weakness to intelligence does mean that mechanic and technomancer are hard picks for them, but they can get around this, as well as tap into non-intelligence options such as intuitive biohackers, mystics, and witchwarpers.
That does it for today, but I hope you enjoyed these floaty bugs. Tomorrow we’ll look into one of the new species from the Ports of Call book!

Galvantula Drider HCs
The  content warning is spiders. And general monster fuckery. Also a little angst, very slight mentions of hybrid abuse.
- Their fur on their spider abdomen is silky and golden colored, with deep blue stripes- The patterning is unique to every Galvantula, though families may share similar patterns. The blue can be a variety of shades, from cyans to rich sapphires to even an Indigo/Black/Violet color.
- Their faces and mouths are quite interesting- Aside from their rather normal, human eyes, they also possess extra, typically blue colored spider eyes- Dotted over their forehead. A second set of more humanish eyes may also be prominent on their face- And the large chelicera and mandibles that cover their mouths produce the normal clicking and chittering noises driders use as their primary form of communication. Inside their mouths, they possess flexible fangs that- Along with the chelicera, produce venom to inject into prey. Definitely not an aphrodisiac to humans and other driders- Deffinitely not.
- They have two sets of human arms- However, at least one set possesses more spider-ish clawed hands. This set, along with their pedipalps, is used for weaving their more soft silk into nesting materials or for cloth making. On that note, Driders are excellent weavers and tailors.
- They have huge legs, tipped with massive claws that grip onto webbing and crevices on rocks. Mountain goats who? Driders can climb even better- They also use the hard claws to tap, another form of communication among their kind.
- Mating displays among Galvantula Driders are exceptionally involved and complex. They run electricity through special webbing, causing it to glow and sparkle- Their own fur buzzes with electricity, and in the dim light of their caves, they flex and show off their abdomen for their chosen mate, shimmying and shaking to make themselves appear bigger, light flashing against their golden fur- And dancing. Rhythmically tapping their claws along cave flooring, twirling, and other forms of movement are common in their mating displays. - And a left over of having to deal with big, aggressive, lady Driders, they may try to envenom their partner. Or tie them up. Or hypnotize them. - Unfertilized drider eggs, when preserved in a very specialized way, harden into a strange, opal-like rock; It chips relatively easy, but the strange “rock” conducts electricity incredibly well. As a result, the rocks... are often stolen, or entire clutches are hunted as they make for valuable research materials in circuitry. That and Drider silk. Continued random Ideas: - Galvantula Driders usually live in clans or nest groups of anywhere from 10-40 individuals; The largest group ever discovered was 140+, dwelling over what is now Chargestone cave. - They adore cuddling in their bed webbing; Special webbing that is not sticky but is rather squishy and supportive and very strong- Like a hammock; They also live alongside their pokemon companions quite frequently- And they themselves are often covered in Joltiks or are found hugging Galvantulas they've grown up with/raised. - They can discharge electricity just like their pokemon halves can, but the webbing they release is significantly stronger than a normal Galvantula- Capable of holding down another drider. Good luck escaping a Drider's web if you get stuck in it :) - Males and females have ovipositors- Females lay eggs, males discharge spermatophores. They're squishy. - Driders are very... susceptible to being touched on the underside of their spider abdomen- Which is extremely sensitive and soft to the touch, and it undulates and twitches a lot if you touch it. - Especially with smaller or more human mates, they become very possessive. They will keep you seated on their backside while walking around, or clutched in their claws; Or tied up in webbing if they must. - Driders are considered a "Pest Class" Hybrid by Unova and are to be exterminated upon discovery- As a result, there's very few drider clans left and what ones are stay very well hidden; Hiding their nests and webs from any humans is a must for them, lest they be discovered and either eradicated or captured for either their eggs or to be researched, or kept as a trophy by a Hybrid Collector.
--------------------- Specifically in this AU, Ingo and Emmet are two (extremely rare) Galvantula Driders who lived in the abandoned remains of the Nimbasa Subway Tunnels with their Galvantula family- Having long been separated from any other driders, they remain hidden deep within the maze of tunnels- Trying to avoid being found by hybrid hunters, or even just really noticed. However, many humans, and other hybrids, living in Nimbasa have taken note of their existence- And keep them protected. Feigning ignorance when a hybrid hunter comes by, or preventing the hunters from entering the tunnels. It’s a bit of a campaigning secret among local politicians and elected officials that, if you want to stay in office, promise to keep the driders of Nimbasa safe- Without, of course, broadcasting such information. And for a long while it works! Until one day, a team of hunters break into the tunnels- And Ingo and Emmet are dragged out, tied in electric-proof cabling, hissing and snapping- And are promptly removed, never to be seen again... Until the Johtonoian Drider Research Facility receives a tip about two very special, very rare, prime-condition hybrids who will be delivered to a collector in Kanto... Needless to say, the hybrids end up safely in the possession of the Research Facility- But they can’t drop them off back in Unova exactly, and so the facility holds onto them- Providing the two with an extremely nice and very expensive enclosure. And besides- Galvantula Driders are rare, and so much is unknown about them- Perhaps, perhaps! They could help the species repopulate, introduce them to new spiders- Set up a Galvantula colony in Johto, and learn more about the spiders- But the two Driders are confused, scared, and angry. They can’t understand human speech- They only speak in Drider clicks and chittering sounds, and the few human words they’ve picked up over the years. They haven’t even been around many other driders- And certainly, in this strange place, they have no desire to meet or interact with other spiders! And after a few sour meetings- The researchers decide to forgo introducing other driders for the time being. They snap at any human entering their enclosure, and after an unfortunate incident where one researcher nearly loses his arm... Galvantula drider care duties are to be handled by teams- The doors to their enclosures are kept secure, and no one enters without the chief supervisor’s permission. Until you show up. A volunteer, or perhaps a junior researcher, helping to rehabilitate injured Driders, or take care of orphaned spiderlings- And you misread the directions given to you, pushing open a series of doors.. Directly into the enclosure of two very powerful, very huge, very hungry, and very agitated Galvantula Driders. At first, of course, you don’t know that. To you, it’s just a huge, naturalistic enclosure- A beautiful waterfall and small pond, a few trees and bushes, and grass- And massive, thick, glass windows- And a strange... Cave at one end of the enclosure- Of course, the director is fucking furious and trying to find out what idiot left the doors to the angry hybrids unlocked.

apologies lg tv community. ya boy was without wifi for awhile
Tumblr media
This is honestly not the best sketch but this is the clowntroupe i mentioned before. i promise they have swag clothes and stuff, but i really ust wanted to digitalize something of them that wasn't super outdated (even though im noticing a bajillion mistakes in this already)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
there's this, but their hands have been restructures and i don't like how i made the pedipalps. my nitpicky nature will be the death of me
They're all outcasts from their original societies, with the mantis escaping their civilization for their own sake (unlike the arachnomorphs, sexual cannibalism is both permittted and expected in mantis society), the arachnomorph running from their role as a prince, and the nautilus one... is really just a nerd and came along to learn about the surface world.
wasn't able to illustrate this, but they also ride on the back of the mantis AND the arachnomorphs' most fearsome predator, the winterbeetle. They're both in their bronze age, and are still being actively predated upon.
Tumblr media
While the winterbeetles are mostly carnivorous, their ancestors were herbivores and the winterbeetle is able to still eat and digest plant matter. The clowntroupe has raised their steed to be vegan, for their own safety.
Genuine apologies for the quality on these guys' parts, it's come to my realization how underdeveloped this world was and how unhappy I am with the art i've made for them thus far, especially with how i lost traction and motivation a good halfway through the first doodle. I wanted to get something out for these guys today but this really wasn't it :(. Maybe tomorrow's doodles can turn out better
But on the bright side there were these DJ doodles I was able to make yesterday that I'm actually proud of! I tried to draw him as close to canon as I could (excluding the lips... djmm's donut lips don't feel right for me to draw 💀. I left the bottom lip though, since it's pretty close to the original and are kind of like how actual clowns have the bottom lip painted)
Tumblr media
DJ being mute honestly makes a story with itself which is kind of perfect
He can't outright speak for himself other than very specific sound effects, and his face canonically has no moving parts other than his mouth, so you can't even tell what he's thinking or feeling behind those big, unblinking, soulless eyes.
Having to make very big gestures and actions make him even more expressionate than usual, but in times where he lets up his game of constant charades, he become spooky as hell, now that you can't tell what his intentions are.
honestly, there's a gazillion stories to be made just off that alone, like him desperately trying to inform the rest of the SB gang that there is danger swiftly incoming with not a soul having any clue what he's saying, or harsh, decisions he had to make without him being able to explain why, with the reason behind it only being revealed later on.
There's also the thought that in the one medium he's able to directly speak his mind he pours his soul into it and is unnervingly way more verbose than anyone would've thought he was. DJ's just cool like that

Glendale learns of new beginnings and different endings.
The Edge
You sit wedged between the fallen tree and the grassy hillside, your hiding place, or it was supposed to be. As you settle down in an attempt to rest, the very first rays of dawn begin to peek over the hills in the distance. If the fighting hadn't exhausted you, all of the sobbing and mourning afterwards surely did. You allow sleep to take you for what little of the night remained.
You open your eyes and find yourself floating in an astral void. No, void isn't the right word. This endless space should be intimidating but it's not, you feel a strange comfort looking at all the stars that dot the sky. "What-" the visible breath you release catches you off guard. A warmth spreads through your body with every heartbeat, despite all the signs that your environment should chill you to the bone. You raise a hand to your left brow and gently, hesitantly, trace the wound. It doesn't hurt, in fact it feels like it has closed and scarred. You pull your hand back and inspect it, confirming the lack of blood. What if... You look around frantically for her, or at least a sign of her, but nobody is there.
"What is this...?" you whisper to the air.
You turn around, look up, and see a moon that wasn't there before. A blue and silver butterfly appears. It is right in front of you and miles away all at once. Its on the moon, now flying towards you but its already there. The wings flap once, twice, three times and reveal a beautiful elven woman. She towers over you. Her glowing white hair curls just past her chin and striking blue eyes peer into your soul. Or are they black? Her facial features seem to subtly shift into a more insectoid form occasionally, eyes become compound, eyebrows grow into antennae, pedipalps form around her mouth, but only for a moment and never all at once. Her ever-shifting features lead her to look different from moment to moment, but always always ethereal, almost difficult to look at. One of her two sets of arms raise from her sides and settle underneath you, gently cupping you in her hands. She gives you a soft smile that makes your heart flutter.
"Wha-...who are you?" you ask quietly, your voice still hoarse.
"I am known by many names: the Great Dreamer, Starsong, Lady Luck, the Moon Mother, Desna. You may choose whatever you feel is appropriate." Her voice is so everywhere that you almost forget to pay attention to her answer.
"Uh, o-okay, Moon Mother?" you pause for a moment and continue after she gives you a nod. "Why am I here? What is this?" you ask, trying and failing to hide the fear in your voice.
"You are here because you have done something remarkable." She smiles at you and begins tracing symbols in the air with her second pair of hands, seemingly to cast a spell.
You cross your arms over your torso and hug yourself tightly. So getting my sister killed is remarkable? you think to yourself. You sigh and look up to see the Moon Mother's eyes meeting yours for a brief moment before she returns her attention to the spell. Your cheeks flush slightly. You're beginning to think your thoughts are not entirely private in this place, whatever this place is.
With a final flourish her spell completes and you see an illusion of sorts appear in her palm. It resembles an opaque mirror rimmed with clouds, the mirror's surface ripples like a lake. "Here," her voice calls out, "let me show you." She lowers her hand so that it meets your eye level. You catch a glimpse of your pathetic, ragged state before the image shifts.
"One of the...domains, I guess you could say, under my care is fate." As she explains everything to you, images click across the mirror like a slideshow. She mentions fate and you see hundreds, thousands of red strings held aloft by an unseen force. Crossing and weaving and intertwining.
She continues, "I can see every beginning and every end." The image focuses on a single thread and you see it snap suddenly. A shadowy figure above the thread grasps at their chest, falls to one knee, and finally collapses on the ground.
The image clicks. "Now, no one's fate is written in stone, but the threads are not so easily swayed." You see two small figures near a fallen tree on a hillside laying on the ground, unmoving. The thread underneath tenses and snaps, your stomach drops as you watch the ends unfurl and begin to fray. You clasp your hands over your mouth as you realize what she's showing you. "This was to be yours," she says the next part gently, "both of you."
You can't stop the tears from falling, you look to her desperately. "I don't understand." you whisper.
"You did something no one expected." You look back to the mirror and watch yourself step away from the tree.
"You chose to fight." You watch yourself grab a fallen branch.
"You chose to be brave." You watch your trembling form stand protectively in front of the tree, in front of the small soul inside.
"You, Glendale Surefoot, changed your fate." As the branch smacks into the beast in front of you, you see the formerly frayed thread begin to stitch itself together. A shorter thread, shimmering with divine light, ties itself into a knot around the broken end, and begins its new path. "This part here," she gestures to the knot, "is what got my attention. I knew that such a brave and strong soul needed to be protected, so I stepped in, so to speak." You see a blue and white light, the same colors as the Moon Mother's wings, radiate out from within you and the pieces begin to fall into place.
"...You saved me." you mutter quietly, unable to tear your eyes away from the scene.
"You saved yourself."
"What about-" you whip around to face her again, "What about Vonearen?" You ask, almost angry, fists clenched at your sides. Her name burns as it leaves your throat.
The Moon Mother gives you a mournful look and releases a heavy sigh, snuffing out the illusion to rest her hand against her chest. "Regretfully, by the time I was informed of your situation...she had already passed." Your heart breaks all over again, not even a goddess could save her. "I am sorry, Glendale."
Hearing your name jogs loose a memory that you'd rather not re-live. Glenn, take care of your sister. In this place where your thoughts are enhanced and on display, the command seems to echo around you. Take care of your sister. Bouncing off walls that don't exist. You clap your hands over your ears like it will help. Glenn. "Stop it." Take care of her. "Stop!" And it does, but you don't. "I get it, okay?! I can't do anything right. I couldn't do the one thing I was asked to do." Your voice cracks, the tears begin to flow as quickly as your words. You start pacing back and forth. "I couldn't protect her. Even when I tried to be brave I didn't help anyone but myself. And I didn't even do a good job at that! I got myself hurt and lost half of my vision. What good is a second chance if I won't do anything with it?!" Your throat is starting to hurt.
You can't hold yourself up any longer and fall to your knees. "I can't...I don't understand." Your voice is barely above a whisper now. "I don't want this..." I wish I'd just... the thought doesn't quite complete, but you feel the meaning gets across.
You sit there sobbing for what feels like an eternity, then you feel a warm hand on your shoulder.
"I feel your grief, and I wish I could take this pain from you. But please understand that your life has meaning. You are alive for a reason." She speaks and enunciates each word carefully, determined to make you understand.
You finally look up at the Moon Mother to see her in a different form. She was much smaller, now only a few feet taller than you and far more elven in her features. Even crouched down to comfort you she looks ethereal. The lump in your throat and ragged breaths leave you unable to speak. You sit back on your heels to look at her more purposefully and think to yourself, What is it?
She smiles softly and waves her hand in front of you. That same divine thread emerges from your chest and stretches off into the distance. "This thread is very new, it's still finding it's way. I can't quite see where it ends yet, but" she pauses and extends a hand towards you, "won't it be exciting to find out?"
Somewhere in the back of your head you are hysterical over the absurd reality of your situation and wisely decide to deal with those feelings later. For now, you take her hand and get back on your feet. You wipe away what tears remain with the heel of your palm and cross your arms over your chest again. "So what now?"
She grins warmly and returns to her full height. "That is entirely up to you. If you'd like to learn more, follow the main road north and meet my priestess, Chishandri, at the third crossroads. They can help you from there." She waves her hand again and you suddenly feel a pendant around your neck. It's a smooth piece of wood carved into the shape of a butterfly with striking celestial details on the wings. You look back up and she continues. "Or you could wake and forget this ever happened. You never have to speak to me again, if you so wish." She, to your surprise, sounds genuine. "I won't force you to do anything. So, regardless of your choice" the floor disappears beneath you, you're floating again. Your surroundings begin to fade and the Moon Mother shifts back to her true form. "it was wonderful to meet you." She vanishes before you can reply and everything goes white.
----------
You wake to the morning sun peeking through the cracks of your little hideaway. You stretch and wince at the soreness in your body caused by your odd sleeping position. Except, you're not sore. What...oh. You gasp as the evenings events come flooding back, the good and the bad. You swallow hard to push the tears down and raise your hand to the wound over your eye. Sure enough, it is still closed and scarred from brow to cheek. So that really happened...
You stand and exit the tree, trying to process everything that happened. As you do you feel the pendant swing across your chest, it's strangely comforting.
You take a moment to look at your surroundings, trying to commit it to memory. The trees that lead deeper into the forest. The town that was your home at the top of the hill, its citizens already bustling in the early hours, there's sure to be a lot of rebuilding to do. The fallen tree against the hillside, and the small mound of dirt a few yards away. Several rocks have been stacked at the top as a sort of marker. Tears prick at your eyes and you reach up to hold the pendant, a practice that will become a comforting habit for you in the coming years. You take a deep breath, and make your way north.

It should be no surprise at this point that there have been many misconceptions and misinterpretations between the Underworld and surface world. I mean, after all, these false beliefs are what pretty much fueled the animosity that still burns bright in these two realms. The people of the surface thought that this underground civilization of horned beasts and living shadows was literal purgatory, while the denizens of down below saw life up above as a blasphemous blight in a godless void. Thankfully, such ancient beliefs have long been disproved, and hopefully the hate between worlds has died down a bit. Outside of these more destructive misconceptions, there are also cases where past explorers from both sides have dared to tread into this other world and failed to properly understand what they were witnessing. Most often there were only glimpses of unknown creatures or strange phenomenon, and all the "facts" were hastily scribbled down as the panicked explorer fled in fear. This is how you get tales of deadly shadows that possess people, where someone got one look at a shade and made a whole lot of terrible assumptions. On the other side, it is where you also get stories of scourges from above, like the faceless rotten fungal people that spew poison and devour life (which honestly isn't the worse thing I have been called as a dryad). This is how old field journals and tomes boast pictures of bizarre, and sometimes impossible, creatures. Once calmer minds were allowed to delve into these unknowns, though, we quickly learned the true meaning of a lot of old myths. A simple example would be the species known as the Cerberus, who had a rather different face in the old story books before someone bothered to take a closer look.
Ancient drawings and stories attach this name to a dog-like beast with three heads (and occasionally a serpent tail), and claim it to be some guardian of the underworld. It was a vicious monster that kept the dead in and the living out. Tales of its existence was one of the many reasons why people on the surface dare not venture nears these demonic "portals" that led to hell. However, it was eventually learned that this horrid guard dog was not in fact a dog, it wasn't even a mammal! Instead, the Cerberus belongs to the family of scorpions, as rather large member of the group. Its size isn't the only thing to note, as it has other bizarre bits to its anatomy. The first thing to notice is that it only appears to have four legs (the claws don't count, those are pedipalps, not legs), which is odd compared to the usual eight found in scorpions. It is believed that these missing four legs were either lost or perhaps fused with the other legs to create these heftier limbs. Due to the Cerberus' huge size, it needs some strong legs to carry it, so it seems the species found it was better to bulk up four instead of eight. Then take note of its thin stinging tail, which may not appear as intimidating or vicious as the stingers of others. This is because the Cerberus fights with strength and powerful claws, thus a potent venom isn't as necessary. Also, when living in cramped tunnels and cave, bringing a tail overhead to sting may not be so easy.
My mention of the claws no doubt focuses attention on the feature most folk are interested in on the Cerberus. The species boasts two huge pincers, whose size is almost the same as its own head. They possess serrated edges that allow it to saw and cleave through flesh with ease, the blades so prominent they look like teeth. On the claws themselves are numerous spikes, with at least one pair large enough to give the impression of horns or ears. Bright coloration on the sides of these appendages can make people think of eyes when they see them. What I am obviously getting at here is that these two claws are the two extra heads of the mythical dog Cerberus. When held up on either side of its real head, it can make it look like a three-headed beast, especially when the spectator screams and flees after only looking at it for a second. While that explains the three heads, some may ask why people thought of a dog instead of a scorpion. Well, it turns out that the Cerberus are not silent creatures. The claws have a metallic lining to them, which helps with another feature of this species (we'll talk on that later), that rubs and scratches together whenever the pincers are opened and closed. When faced with an intruder, the Cerberus gnashes its claws, and the colliding of these metal parts create a loud, short sound. Some have likened it to a metallic barking sound, but that isn't the whole story. Yes, it has similarities to the barking of a dog, but if you were to sit in an empty room and listen to it, you would clearly tell the difference between the two. However, encountering a Cerberus in the dark tunnels of the Underworld is a rather different circumstance. The pair of claws are clacking all at once, creating a cacophony of noise that is amplified by the echoes of the tunnel. Alongside that is stridulation from the main head and body, which sounds like a low growling sound. Combine these with the terrifying visuals, and people come running out recalling the sound of demonic barking by some devilish canine.
To add to this display is the fact that the Cerberus appears to "breathe" fire. When those gnashing heads emerge from the dark, bursts of flame can be seen lining its many jaws. This is because the species produces a flammable gas, which can be emitted from its mouth in an invisible cloud. When those metallic claws snap open and closed, sparks are produced. This obviously ignites the gas and creates of blast of fire. While the pincers themselves don't spew these clouds, their sparks and proximity to the flaming mouth gives the impression of them having the same. It should be noted that this fire has more bark than bite, as the flames are not that hot and don't last very long. It appears that this behavior is more for scaring off bothersome intruders and for mating displays. The males ignite these gas clouds to show off power and health, which tends to scare off the younger rivals. Female Cerberus can also create these flames, though they use them more for cleaning parasites off their hard-shelled eggs. I believe it is used by both for hygiene and grooming, literally burning off the filth. As a weapon, not so much. It turns out their sheer strength is more than enough.
When it comes to eating, the Cerberus is a carnivore, prowling the tunnels and caverns for prey. Their large size means they go after bigger prey, like the Isodons. For them, there is no fancy ambushes or clever tactics, they pretty much look for food that can't run fast enough. Many species down below rely on armor and impenetrable defenses to survive predator attacks, but unfortunately these are useless against a Cerberus. Their claws are incredibly powerful and can crush chitin, bone and shell. They simply approach hunkered down prey and tear them into chunks. For those with armor thick enough to withstand this assault, the Cerberus will instead look for weak spots. The underbelly is usually the soft area, so all the scorpion needs to do is flip prey over and stab into its guts. Its strength is used here to break the prey's grip and knock them over, getting at the exposed belly. Some sightings have shown that the Cerberus may occasionally use its hooked stinger to snag prey clinging to walls and pull them down. This stinger harbors a painful venom, but it isn't lethal. Falling into the waiting claws of this beast, though, is a guaranteed death sentence. Once prey is killed, the Cerberus will eat its fill and then take the remaining carcass up in its claws. It will carry what it can back to its lair, saving it for later. The lair of the Cerberus is an important part of this species, as they are territorial. An individual will either find or carve itself a cozy little chamber, which it then claims as its own. These spaces are not large, usually just big enough to fit the Cerberus and a few extra carcasses. The important feature of this chamber is an entrance that is just big enough for the beast to block with its body. These spaces are where they store food or keep their eggs, and they are very protective of it. When unwanted visitors start getting too close, the Cerberus will stand at the entrance and block the way. Even if foes are not turned away by claws and flames, its sheer size prevents them from entering. This is how they protect their food and eggs from other Cerberus, who may be looking for an easy snack. This is why it is rare for one of these beasts to leave their chambers unguarded if it as decent supply of meat or eggs in it, as they dare not leave it unattended for long. Females will stockpile their space with kills before laying their eggs, as she will keep watch over them until they hatch, refusing to leave them for a second. When the young do emerge, she may finally go out to hunt, as her stockpile is long gone and she is most likely starving at this point. Rather than leave her young behind, they clamber onto her back and ride along as she looks for food. The sight of a female Cerberus laden with her children is an incredible one, but only when seen from far away. In this state, she is very hungry and very protective. Show any sign of threat to her or her young, and she will rip you into pieces. Don't even think you are safe if you are behind her, as that is what the stinger is for. When a threat approaches from the back, the Cerberus doesn't bother turning around and instead lashes out with its venomous spike. Such attack is so fast, it is almost like getting struck by a viper! A tail like a snake? Huh!
This species obviously has significance, as it has been known by the surface world for centuries. These myths are indeed false, as it isn't a multi-headed dog that guards hell, but you can clearly see where the impression comes from. Encounters with this species is possible because they live in the upper levels of the Underworld (meaning the layers closer to the surface), which means a higher chance for a timid spelunker to stumble upon one. Funny enough, this idea of a "guard dog" isn't just a surface world thing! It turns out the Underworld has saw their defensive behavior for their burrows and decided to put it to good use! The Cerberus has actually been domesticated (or at least very well trained) in some regions, with them being used to guard storerooms, homes and other precious places. Thorough training and rewards of food help teach them who to trust and who to keep out, and they are quite good at warding off intruders. Some have been even trained to guard livestock, scaring off predators who try to sneak in for an easy kill. Outside of that, some demons have kept them as just regular pets. With their size, though, this often is done by the wealthy and powerful, as they have the room to spare for a non-essential companion of that bulk. It appears that their strength and intimidating appearance is quite loved, so any proper warlord would have one of these beasts to sic on their enemies. There have been attempts to bring the Cerberus up to the surface, as there are plenty of questionable folk who would want to own one. Funny enough, this has been difficult because the giant powerful scorpion of the Underworld has one major flaw: they're kenophobic. Much like many denizens of the Underworld, they are very much used to the tight tunnels and enclosed caverns. Throw them out into the open, with an empty sky looming overhead, and they pretty much flee to the nearest burrow or hole. They are not used to such areas and don't know what to do when presented with them. So people who have dragged a Cerberus up to the surface to sell as a pet or guard dog will find the beast panicked and anxious. I don't think I need to tell you what happens when one of these scorpions gets paranoid and nervous. However, these disastrous attempts do not mean a Cerberus cannot live on the surface. Illegal wildlife traders have found that locking these sedated beasts in lightless cages prevents these outbursts, and even covering their eyes helps ease them. They are then sold to wealthy customers, who leave these creatures in dungeons and vaults, places that mimic their Underworld home. Some are used as guards, others for morbid entertainment. Lock a couple poor souls in a labyrinthine basement, and wait for your new pet to hunt them down and pull them apart. Sure is swell that we displace these unwary creatures for rot like this.... Chlora Myron Dryad Natural Historian       --------------------------------------------------
No spooky season is complete without visiting the Underworld! Turns out it isn't only populated with prehistoric creatures but also with some faces rather familiar to such a "demonic" place!
Also this concept had me thinking that it would work great as a MH carapaceon, like the Akuras. Only downside is that it would have to be a fire and/or blast monster and goodness do we already have plenty of those!

Note
What are the species youve created based on?
Whos your favorite oc in the natik lore?
Ohh! Good questions! 👌
1.) So the Nati family is very much inspired by scorpions and other chelicerates (the addition of silk is a nod to spiders). I like to think of these guys as "pseudo-arachnids," or (affectionately) as "space scorpions."
Tumblr media
They do have some obvious differences from the existing animals, for example the lack of pedipalps which I scrapped because I was just too lazy to draw them and the clearly defined neck/head, but they have the trademark chelicerae (those pinchy jaws), 8 limbs, book lungs, and other features.
In their original iteration, "hymdromons" they were meant to be a sort of hybrid of "hymenoptera" and "dromopoda." However, in their final incarnation, very few insect traits other than the eusocial family structure persist, and I do not consider them to be "insectoid."
As far as pop culture inspiration goes, they draw some very loose inspiration from the Krogan and Turian species from Mass Effect as well as the Prawns from District 9.
Other species of their world are based on Earth animals as well.
The Rexlo, for example, are based loosely on rodents.
Tumblr media
In this page of chapter one (full WIP on Patreon), you can see this Rexlo skull is somewhat similar to that of a squirrel:
Overall my intention was to make the species rodent-like, though you can't really consider them rodents; instead of having pairs of large incisors, theirs are fused into a single beak-like tooth. Originally I had designed them to be ungulates, but I quickly decided that was way too boring. The "rex" in "rexlo" is literally me pulling from "T-rex" because of their short armed, bipedal shape. They are also very loosely inspired by the Thomas(es?) from Trigun and the two-legged mounts from Ralph Bakshi's Wizards (the Rexlo character Baki is named after Ralph Bakshi, because why not?)
There are lots more animals and even plants I could mention, but we'd be here for a long time. 😅
2.) Favorite OC is a very hard question to answer, especially since all of the main cast have traits that draw from myself, my lovedones, or some specific aspect of my life. If I had to choose, it would probably be Amto, Kitki, Sek, and Kos, in no particular order. Amto and Kitki represent aspects of myself, my childhood, and the relationship between myself and my older sibling, so in that regard they are very special. Sek was the third character I created for the story, and like the former 2 characters goes all the way back to the original concept I made in high school. She reflects a lot of my own anger and sorrow from back then, as well as the subsequent healing. Plus she's absolutely feral and cool and edgy. Kos is my primary antagonist and reflects a lot of my own insecurities and mental issues, plus I've always gravitated towards complex villains, so I've put a lot of extra love into her creation.

“why didn’t you tell me you were upset? i’m sorry. what can i do to make this better?”
Emmet huffs into his pillow, staring at the text. Ever since Ingo mentioned seeing Pecha cry on her way home, he’s been overthinking their entire interaction over the day. He had thought it cute when she kept fumbling her words and saying the wrong things.
Apparently, when he pointed it out, it just made her cry.
And now he feels like an utter ass. Usually he’s so good about monitoring his words. But Pecha has paid the price for him being lazy.
He wouldn’t be surprised if she decided she was done with him, honestly. It wouldn’t be the first time his lack of trying killed a relationship.
Pecha is on her bed, wrapped up in the blankets she had cocooned herself in from the moment she had come home. Her pokemon had scuttled in after her, Hot-Sauce wrapping his body around her in a hug and Tiki messing her pedipalps in Pecha’s hair like she was trying to soothe her trainer.
Pecha’s tears had long since dried and she was doing her best just to forget the humiliation she had put herself in, scrolling through social media for any distraction when her phone pinged. A choo choo sound. For Emmet.
She groans. Did he see her cry? She had done her best to keep a good face on…
“ i’m fine”
That would make him more worried. What person uses the word “fine” to reassure someone that they’re okay?
“ it’s okay!! I just wanted to tell you “
No…She couldn’t possibly tell him how she feels about him through a text.
“ it’s okay!! I wanted to say something but it wasn’t that important haha 😅 ”

I don't have any real way to explain this post, this just exists now
enjoy the long post of nothing but poképark talk
•one legendary catches the other in their dimension and the other one says that they came to give a warning
•Dialga and Palkia say something about growing darkness and gathering lights
•Kirby walks into Poképark (Firstfoot Path)
•he meets Bandee
•they have a tutorial moment
•they see Halttmann and Susie advertising Wish Park ("Wish park, where all your dreams come true!")
•they go to Wish Park (after getting some berries to pay for it)
•once they get there they both go play the cake attraction
•after playing the attraction they realize the cake is a lie (it's making pokemon act strange, cake wild (/ref) as I wish to say)
•they escape wish park and go tell Dedede about it
•Dedede says something about hearing about missing pokemon reports from other areas
•Kirby and Bandee decide to investigate/Dedede asks them to investigate but Bandee challenges Kirby to a battle first to practice
•they go Cove Town to find Halttmann and Susie to confirm their pokénapping suspicions and battle for info
•Haltmann says something about Fransiscsca paying them to lead pokemon into wish park and tell them how to open it
•after that Susie and Halttmann run off to the Tech Area (they don't say it but y'know) and Kirby and Bandee go back to the portal and open it
•they enter wish park again and clear the cake attraction (run by Nightmare), Nightmare blocks to way to the wish bell, they battle him, win, ring the bell and leave
•while they leave the park Kirby runs into Palkia's dimension and it says something about the wish park situation and that Kirby can do something about it
•Kirby and Bandee go to back to Cove Town to warn the other areas of Wish Park/keep investigating
•but the gates are locked because of the missing pokemon reports and they need to get the gatekeepers (Pon and Con) to open the Arbor Area gate
•Pon and Con challenge them to a battle, they win, and are let into the Arbor Area
•they find a poster portal but it's ripped, and Gooey is standing in front of it
•Gooey says that his friend (Dark Matter Swordsman (I'll call it Swordsman for now)) was leading pokemon into Wish Park but went back after realizing that Wish Park keeps the pokemon there forever and hasn't returned
•they go looking for the missing poster piece and run into Taranza in Verdent Court who had the missing piece and was using it as a paper for a area keeper meeting invite(?), he got desperate cuz it's an emergency meeting (Joronia (the Arbor Area Keeper) got kidnapped and taken to wish park but he doesn't know that yet)
•but he dropped it/the wind blew it out of his pedipalps (I don't know if galvanltulas can hold things like that) and it landed on a very small Island in the lake
•none of them can swim so they go back to Seasong Beach and ask Dedede if he can help
•he agrees to help (after a gormet race) and gets the piece from the island
•they put the piece back on the poster and open it, Dedede decides to go/stay with them
•they go to Wish Park (the Dance Zone) and find Swordsman, who's being mind controlled
•they battle it so it can snap out of it and go challenge the dance attraction run by Joronia who somehow became Sectonia (then Miracle Matter runs it after Sectonia's battle)
•then she blocks the way, they battle her, and run into Francisca, Flamberge and Zan
•they almost battle but the mage sisters decide that battling isn't worth it and lave so they ring the wish bell and dip
•Kirby runs into Dialga's dimension while leaving and drops some lore about the Dark Vortex/Void Termina/Hyness
•they go to the Craig Area and meet Elfilin (I should probably mention that by they I mean Kirby, Bandee, and Dedede, starting to get confused myself) he gives a hint to the password to get past Landia and into the fort
•they get it right (Courage and Kindness, same as cannon, for now, maybe) and are let in
•they meet Meta Knight at some point and ask to enter the tournament (he runs it)
•he says that they can if they get the Bravery Beard (I keep calling it the Braviary Beard help) so they do that
•they get to the Colosseum and the Beast Pack is competing in the tournament
•halfway through the tournament someone exposes the Beast Pack for leading pokemon into Wish Park
•then Leongar (the Crag Area's Keeper), shows up with Elfilin (in a cage) and reveal the poster portal in the areana
•one of them knocks out Meta Knight and the Beast Pack all leave through the portal
•Meta Knight joins the party, how? why? idk (maybe he joins (officially) after? idk)
•they go through the portal (after getting some pokémon together to help open it, happens with all poster portals)
•Zan, Leon, and Carol are there and Zan orders them to battle the Star Pals(?)
•they lose, Hyness shows up and asks if they want to join the Wish Park crew
•they say no and Hyness orders Zan to challenge the Star Pals to beat the power zone attraction
•they beat the attraction, and Forgo absorbs Elfilin and the star pals fight Elfilis to get Elfilin back, they win and get him back, ring the bell, and leave
•they see the Dark Vortex start to form (insert moon's big joke here)
•they leave the Craig Area and go to the Tech Area to find the last portal
•they find Brobo (the area keeper) and ask if anyone's been acting sus
•they immediately get a report that a train bridge broke so it asks them to find Weapons Dee and get some materials to repair the bridge
•they do that, the bridge gets fixed, and after some talking they're let into the Unawarehouse
•they go in, find the Scientourion and see Star Dream escaping the Scientourium but they need it to power the elevator so they go after it
•they catch up to it and ask it to come back to elevator and it does
•they go into the Scientourium, run into Susie and Halttmann again and everybody starts asking questions ("You two again ?" "What did you think you were gonna find? The ultimate life form?" (idk where I was going joke, Elfilis/Lab Discovera ref?))
•Halttmann says something about him and Susie making the portals but not knowing what the Wish Park pokemon were doing with them ("Why would I destroy Poképark!? I live here!" (/ref)) and someone mentions something about the bells and if they don't ring constantly all dark energies/magics/ect can't be held back and that includes the void in the sky
•they try to get back to Wish Park but the wip portal is missing a piece so they go look for it, get it, and go to to Wish Park
•they walk up to the flight attraction (Zero runs it), they challenge it and win, Zero challenges them to a battle, they win and ring the wish bell (Zero might have a seccond stage (0², it absorbs light from Ripple Queen (a Diancie+Ribombee hybrid(?) ))
•then all the wish park pieces come together and the Wish Plalace portal shows up
•they go to Wish Palace, confront Hyness and the Mage Sisters, Bandee, Dedede, and Meta get their memories wiped, and Hyness knocks Kirby out (he uses hypnosis or something) and puts him in a nightmare where he's completely alone
•then someone (idk who cuz I don't have a Piplup role(yet)) gets Kirby to snap out of it
•he does and runs of to go bring the Star Pals back together
•He challenges Bandee to a battle, Dedede to a gourmet race, and does a tournament refight (feat. the Meta-Knights) to get Meta back (or a battle)
•they go back to the palace, battle Hyness, and win
•the vortex is still a problem though so Halttmann and Susie show up with a thing that can stop it but someone's gotta do a sacrifice for it to work
•after half of Wish Park gets destroyed Hyness sacrifices himself and whatever got dragged into the vortex is put back where it was
(aight post game time here we go)
•Wish Park is now not holding pokemon hostage for eternal friendship paridise reasons
•Zan's sad about Hyness so Kirby decides to help find him
•so they do some lore digging and find out that they have to find Uxie, Azelf, and Misprit at their respective shrines, say a poem, get challenged to chase, a battle, and a quiz respectfully, then collect the creation trio's orbs, go to a dais/platform/ruins in the arcane area(or seperate ones), put all the items on the platform, get challenged by Dialga and Palkia to a battle, then they let them go to the distortion world via portal
•they soummon Palkia and Dialga who both ask for a battle to prove that they want save Hyness/that their heart and mind are in the right place, the Star Pals win, and the two thirds of the Creation trio say something about the Void Termina and the Distortion world and open a portal to get there
•they go there, fight Void Termina, win, and get Hyness back
•also Void Termina/Soul comes back as Kabii
