An internship allowance of Rs 5000 per month and one-time assistance of Rs 6,000 will be provided under the internship scheme. Companies will bear training costs from their CSR funds.”
2.Youth Skilling Scheme
In an effort to boost youth employability, the finance minister announced an increase in provisions for the Youth Skilling Scheme. The revised model skill loan scheme will facilitate loans up to Rs 7.5 lakh with guarantees from a government-promoted fund. This scheme aims to benefit 25,000 students per year
3. Roadmap for Job Growth
Sitharaman outlined incentives for job growth, stating that incentives will be provided to both employees and employers in the first four years of employment. She said, “All employment within a salary of Rs 1 lakh per month will be counted. The government will reimburse employers Rs 3,000 per month towards EPFO contributions for two years for each additional employee.”
4.Three Schemes for Employment Generation
To further boost employment, the government will set up three schemes focused on employment generation. The first scheme will provide a one-month wage to all persons newly entering the workforce across all sectors. This first-time employment scheme is expected to benefit 2.1 crore youths.
These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to job creation and youth empowerment, aiming to provide substantial support to both employers and employees in the coming years.

TaskRaccoon Premium: Chapter 1
Josh was at a dead end. For years he had put his entire focus and energy on his education and studies, above his social life, his health, and his finances. He came top of his class in History and Classics and so in his head all that hard l work had paid off, but now that he had graduated... what was next? His classmates had swanned off into internships and graduate programmes, but Josh found himself in the summer after graduating with no job, no prospects and, most importantly, no money.
Josh's parents had supported him throughout his further education, but now that he was back home they decided to treat Josh like an adult. And that meant rent. Josh balked at the suggestion, but his parents were adamant and so Josh found himself on the job hunt.
This proved trickier than Josh anticipated. Turns out the local libraries and bookshops didn't care about his top degree; they wanted experience. And as Josh lowered his sights to restaurants, cafes, even the bowling alley, he found himself receiving the same feedback.
Needing to save making cash quick, a sympathetic interviewer told Josh to pick up the odd job on TaskRaccoon - an app where Josh could choose to help people with tasks like moving furniture, watering plants, doing shopping in exchange for a small fee. It wasn't perfect, especially as Josh didn't really have the build or inclination for manual jobs, and Josh often found himself doing jobs he never expected while at school. But over time Josh felt an unexpected satisfaction with earning a buck and paying his parents. So much so that Josh had bigger aspirations - moving out of his parents place.
That, of course, required money. And while Josh worked hard with the TaskRaccoon jobs he was given, he needed something more.
On a random Tuesday afternoon, a solution seemed to land out of nowhere on Josh's TaskRaccoon app: TaskRaccoon Premium. Out of nowhere, Josh's app pop-up with a link to a Premium version of the app. It was an additional service where workers such as Josh would get a boosted fee for the same types of tasks plus, according to the app, receive "all the skills and know-how to complete the task to perfection." Josh figured that last bit was maybe the app providing how-to guides on how to complete the more common tasks, which he took as a nice freebie.
To lure users in, there was even an offer - sign-up to TaskRaccoon Premium, perform a randomly assigned task, and receive double the boosted fee. Josh had done his fair share of the most common tasks on the app already (walk my dog, assemble my shelves, do my groceries) so figured it was well worth his while to take the gamble. And so Josh bit the bullet, sign up for a Premium account, and waited to be given his first random task.
Tumblr media
Without any pause and without any fanfare, Josh's first random task appeared: "I need someone to clean my pool". Josh groaned; it wasn't the first time he had seen a pool cleaning request but it was one he always chose to ignore because he felt he didn't have any of the right equipment and would have no idea where to start. And while this new Premium version had offered access to "skills and know-how", there only thing on the app was an address. Josh couldn't even see an option to cancel.
Josh wavered, but as he saw the blue sky outside and remembered the promise of a doubled fee, he decided to go for it. He could rake some leaves out of a pool easily enough. The address was only a 15 minute drive away, so Josh grabbed the keys to his mum's sedan and got going.
It felt good to be outside and Josh enjoyed the sunny drive. So much so that he didn't notice his mum's humble car begin to change. The front section became blockier and more basic, her touchscreen sat nav becoming an older model. The seats and interior decor became faded, and Josh had to readjust his seating position as the car seemed to somehow lift off the ground. The steering wheel grew in size and, to match it, bizarrely, so did Josh's hands. Without warning, Josh's pale hands began to darken in complexion and as they grasped the now-rough wheel Josh didn't notice the veins that ran down with now lean and well-rounded hands.
Tumblr media
Josh pulled up to a red light, momentarily confused about how he seemed to sit above the surrounding cars. He also felt cramped in the car and realised that his seat was pushed up way too far. He, a bit embarrassingly, was the same height as his mum so he never normally had to adjust the seat, but as he pushed the seat back he realised just how much he needed to stretch out his legs. As the light turned to green, he was oblivious to his jeans riding up and becoming a loose pair of swimming shorts, revealing his now lengthy and toned legs, feathered with dark hair.
Josh pulled up at the designated address shortly after, a sizeable house in a nice neighbourhood. As he got of the car, he was for a moment confused by his need to climb out of the car and then felt off balance when he landed on the tarmac. Before he could interrogate any further though, he looked in surprise at the pick-up truck boot filled with pool cleaning gear. A voice in the back of Josh's mind told him to panic - why the hell did he suddenly have all this gear - but remembering that he had a job to do Josh collected the gear and approached the house. Josh stopped en route to take his jumper off to enjoy the warm sun, not noticing the way his new well-fitted tank top which hung closely to his chest and showed off his slightly more toned arms or the darker shade of his skin...
Tumblr media
Josh carried the gear with surprising ease to the front door, and was warmly welcomed by a middle-aged women who introduced herself as Beth. Beth showed Josh to her garden where a medium-sized pool sat, clearly long overdue a clean. Josh thanked Beth, pausing a little at the vague lilt coming out of his month. Was it just him, or just his voice sound deeper...
Josh got to work. The pool needed much more than just some leaves removed but with every task, Josh found himself instinctively knowing what to do. Which pump to use, when to apply chemicals, how to get the pH levels perfect, it all just flooded into Josh's mind. And he was surprised at how flexible he was at reaching all the right places - Josh didn't love manual jobs but he almost felt like his reach had gotten better. It was hot work though and Josh removed his baseball hat and towelled his brow and face, briefly feeling unfamiliar stubble on his face and thick short locks of hair on his scalp.
It wasn't long before Josh has completed his job, a sense of pride sweeping over him as he stared into the now pristine waters. That pride however quickly morphed into confusion as he gazed at the reflection in the shimmering water. Maybe it was distorted, but there was no way that that tall, dark reflection could be him. He was shirt, slender, pale, wasn't he?
He dropped his net and stared at his hands. His suddenly thick, dark hands. Josh began to breath sharply as he noticed just how high up he was, that he was in an outfit that he had never bought, and that his short, pale self had seemingly been replaced with a tanned, lean body.
Tumblr media
As Josh was clutching at his newly stubbled face and grasping at the space where his small paunch should be, Beth came out with a pitcher of cool lemonade. Josh spun around in panic, and before Beth could say anything he muttered "lo siento" and ran back to his car.
Josh stopped sharply outside as he stared at the beaten up pick up truck outside Beth's drive, a truck that sat where he thought his mum's sedan should be. A truck that keys in his pocket unlocked. Breathing deeply, and trying his best not to panic, he clampered into the car and pulled down the mirror, staring at the unfamiliar dark eyes that stared back at him. Dark eyes amongst a handsome face, with a strong chin covered in thick but trimmed stubble and framed by dark, tightly curled locks. "What the fuck" Josh uttered, eyes widening at the accented deep voice that emerged.
Tumblr media
Josh explored his tightly muscled body now covered in a light sweat when his phone pinged. He unlocked it - the phone recognised his face even if Josh didn't - and the TaskRaccoon app popped up, showing a task completed and $500 dollars deposited in his account.
But what kept Josh's eye though were the other task options appearing. There were more pool cleaning jobs, but also other tasks ranging from moving furniture, plumbing, and even covering people's work shifts. Josh noted that there was an option to cancel his "Premium" membership, but some of the fees weren't to be sniffed at. His breathing calmed down and Josh sat into his car seat, and pondered his options.

The first time that Aaron noticed your anxiety was on your first day at the BAU.
He had remembered you from the internship programme where he had shown you around the place. One afternoon with you and he had known that you deserved a place amongst the team here. It was no surprise that 6 months later - after your internship - that you were hired full-time.
You had walked into the BAU, bag hanging on your shoulder and you had clasped it like it was your lifeline.
Aaron had noticed you all the way across the room from his office. He had been speaking to Reid, but soon paid no attention to what the genius was saying as he watched you nervously look around the room like you were out of place.
He'd gone over to you instantly, wanting to be the first person to reach you.
"Y/N?" He had asked, holding out his hand for you to shake.
It didn't go unnoticed the slight tremble to your hand as you reached out to give his a shake, accompanied with a nervous smile.
"Agent Hotchner, Sir." You nodded.
"You might wanna drop the 'Sir', it'll go straight to his head otherwise." Garcia said in passing as she walked past you both.
You chuckled as you shook your bosses hand. He had a firm grasp. They were firm and calloused, but somehow made you feel like you were in safe company. After he let go you felt disappointed, although you still had the pleasure of looking at him - standing in front of you in a clean suit and his hands in his trouser pockets.
"She's right." Aaron smirked, before resetting to his normal stoic face.
"Am I in the right place?" You asked.
"If you're asking that question then I'm afraid we might've hired the wrong person."
"O-oh, no.. I-"
"I'm joking." He gave a small smile, making you breath out a sigh of relief. You really hadn't wanted to get fired on your first day.
Luckily for you, Aaron had caught onto the fact you were nervous and made sure you knew he was only teasing you. The last thing he wanted to do was make you feel uneasy. Starting a new job was difficult, he knew that, and nerves were high - he wanted to make sure that you felt as comfortable as possible whilst settling in.
"Didn't realise you made those." Garcia said, walking passed again.
"Garcia, don't you have a job to do." Aaron said, using his usual frowny face unlike the one he'd been using with you.
"Yes, Sir." Garcia said, walking away with a smirk.
"Welcome to the BAU."
💼 . 🎞️ . 💼
It wasn't until someone brought you up in conversation that he thought about your shyness for the second time.
"So what do you think of the newbie?" Morgan asked, making a coffee. Aaron seriously questioned whether Morgan actually did any work around here seeing how often he caught him hanging around the coffee machine.
"Y/N?"
"Yeah."
Aaron looked out of the break room kitchen and across the room to where you were sat at your desk.
It had been a week since you've joined and you'd been really involved with helping with paperwork so far. Your supervisor had been teaching you various bits of information throughout the week, but Aaron was wondering whether they were wasting your capabilities by having you stuck at a desk constantly.
He'd also noticed how quiet you were.
You never initiated conversation at someone else's desk, only ever if they came to you first. You never left your desk for random breaks, you just kept your head down and did your paperwork. He'd seen you in the break room maybe once and that was only to make a drink.
"Shy." Aaron responded. "Quiet."
"Reid said she's done twice as much paperwork as Catherine and she's been here 5 weeks less than Catherine."
"Well, Catherine is a waste of space." Aaron said honestly, causing Morgan to choke a little on his coffee from his bluntness - not that he disagreed.
"Well what do you think?"
Aaron turned from watching you chew on the ends of your pen to face Morgan, who had been watching him the whole time instead of you.
"I think she'll be interesting." Morgan smirked into his coffee.
"For what?"
"No, buddy." Morgan patted Aaron's back. "For who?"
Morgan left the room with Aaron frowning in confusion.
You'd be interesting for who?
💼 . 🎞️ . 💼
Aaron was known to have a quick temper, but no one had seen him quite like this.
"Missing files!" He shouted around the room. "No one is leaving this building until someone can tell me where they are."
Aaron ran a stressed hand over his jaw.
The room was silent except for the humming background noise that the air conditioning was making. People were nervous to look at their boss, much less look up from where they were hiding against themselves.
You in particular were shaking like a leaf in the wind.
You had covered your sweater over your hands to stop the urge to scratch away at your hands - as you often did when your anxiety spiked. Your hands were often scabbed, scarred and quite frankly... ugly from where you'd subconsciously scratched away at your skin. A habit that had stemmed from younger years.
"Who was working on the New Orleans case last?" Aaron asked.
Everyone was silent - no one dared to speak up.
A pit dropped in your stomach. You had been working on those files a couple of weeks ago, maybe even in your first week of the job. Catherine had been helping you organise a bunch of files and you'd spotted a mistake in the paperwork for the New Orleans case. She had said to leave it to one side and that you could come back to it later. You'd assumed the paperwork had been changed, corrected and put back but now you're not so sure.
"Anyone? Someone must have?" Aaron asked again, his patience wearing thin.
"Y/N was, Agent Hotchner." Caroline spoke up from where she was stood near you.
Your heart went then, pounding against your chest. Your mouth went dry and you could feel your body start to heat up.
There was a part of you that wanted to bring Caroline down with you, but you were only new here and you were terrified of stepping on anyone's toes. You hadn't even chatted with anyone in the break room yet in case you started chatting to someone who didn't want to talk to you.
You looked around the room, lots of faces staring back at you.
You felt like you were going to stop breathing. The situation was far too overwhelming.
Worst of all was when you looked at your boss. He sighed as he looked up at the ceiling in stress before he returned his gaze to you.
"Y/N. My office, 5 minutes."
As soon as Aaron walked off and back to his office the rest of the room started up with hushed conversations. You could feel people looking at you, probably for the last time since you were no doubt about to be fired.
It was embarrassing.
You didn't dare sit back down at your desk, afraid you'd get told off for that.
Caroline gave you a pitying look as if to say 'should've-been-more-careful' and in the deepest of your heart you really wanted to call her out on it. It was her mistake too and she'd been training you. It seemed a little unfair to pin this all on you.
Nevertheless you walked your way slowly towards Aaron’s office.
Your hands unwound themselves from your sleeves and your right one started scratching the skin on your left one.
You only notice when you start scratching, not the continuation of it so it quickly dropped out of your mind that you were doing it.
You knocked on Aaron’s door twice.
“Come in.”
You made your way inside, shutting the door behind you and coming to stand in front of his desk.
He was sat in his chair behind his desk, paperwork everywhere. It looked chaotic and disorganised - much like he was probably feeling.
Aaron looked at you with his piercing eyes, no doubt profiling his way through this situation.
You tried to maintain eye contact but you lasted all of three seconds before your eyes turned to your hands - which were now red raw from the scratching.
“I need you to quit that.” He spoke in a neutral tone.
You looked up at him, eyes a little blurry from where the tears wanted to fall but you refused to let them. You nodded in understanding.
“Sure.” You swallowed the hard lump in the back of your throat, “Would you like be gone by the end of the day o-or, like, in ten minutes time, because I can pack my stuff up in –.”
“Y/N.” Aaron tried to cut in.
“—a few minutes. I just need to…”
“Y/N.” Aaron stood up.
He rounded the desk and stood a mere metre in front of you. You braved to look at him and noticed how sad his eyes looked. Those sad brown eyes looked at you so softly, whilst his eyebrows couldn’t decide whether to furrow or stay straight.
That’s when you noticed his hand outreaching towards yours, ever so slowly with an almost hesitation.
“Stop, please.” He said very quietly.
You looked down to where his hands were meeting yours and you understood what he had meant now. He hadn’t meant quit quit, he had meant quit scratching your hands.
“Sorry.” You quickly held your hands down by your sides, refusing to draw more attention to it.
Aaron’s hand retracted, but some part of you wondered what it would have felt like if his skin had touched yours again.
Would it have felt as warm as you remembered? Or would it feel more electric this time?
The room was quiet but you knew Aaron was waiting for you to speak.
“Agent Hotchner, um.. Sir.” You cleared your throat before looking at his eyes, so he could tell you were speaking the truth, “I didn’t lose those files, Sir.”
You stood your ground, not allowing your anxiety to take over this conversation.
Aaron nodded his head.
“I know.” He said with a small smile.
“You do?”
“Dr Reid messaged me somewhat 30 seconds before you came in here, notifying me that the files were found in the paper bin closest to Caroline’s desk. They’d been filled out and filed incorrectly, am I right?” He waited for you to nod before continuing, “And you spotted the mistake? Caroline pulled the files to the side, I assume and made it look like you’d messed up.”
“Yes. Sorry, yes Sir.”
Aaron nodded his head.
“Y/N, why did you let Caroline use you like that?” Aaron asked, crossing his hands over his chest.
You looked down, ashamed with yourself.
“I don’t know, Sir. I guess, maybe it’s because I’m still new here?”
Aaron made his way back around his desk, allowing you to breathe without his shadow enveloping you. It was a weird thing to note that you sort of missed his near presence though.
He made his way to sit back down, leaving you standing with nothing to say or do.
Aaron picked up the phone and dialled in his assistant.
“Hi, yeah. Could you let Caroline know I want to speak to her in my office in ten minutes. Mhm. Yeah. Yeah, no, tell her it’s to do with her redundancy.”
You tried not to gasp or looked shocked when Aaron put down the phone abruptly, but hearing that Caroline was being fired for her mistake was quite the turn of events. She was no doubt going to think you tattled, too, when actually in fact Aaron is just a damn good profiler.
“You’re free to get back to work, Y/N.” He gave you a curt smile.
“T-thank you.”
You gave him the best smile you could, before you turned to walk out of his office.
You could feel his gaze on you but you didn’t turn until he called your name a final time.
“Y/N?”
“Sir?”
“You’re doing a good job here. Keep it up, just drop the Sir - It’s Hotch.”
Both you and Aaron were smiling as you left the room.
💼 . 🎞️ . 💼
[BONUS]
You started the day by finding a gift bag on your desk.
Looking around the room you tried to catch someone’s attention to figure out who was behind this. Was it some cruel prank or was it a real gesture? Ever since Caroline had been fired people had been nicer to you, almost thanking you for initiating her leave.
Before unpacking your bag or even taking off your coat you removed the tissue paper from the bag and unwrapped the small box inside.
You came across a small white box, rectangular in shape with cellophane wrapped around it.
You turned the box over until you noticed the name and contents; ‘Smoothing Hand Cream - Sensitive & Kind to All Skin Types’.
There was only one person who could have bought you this.
You quickly turned to Hotch’s office and saw him standing at his door with a coffee in hand. He nodded at you and gave you a smile with teeth - something that was very rare.
Something that was more meaningful than a tube of hand cream.

How did you get started with ceramics? I always thought it was going to be what I did for a living but out of high school everything has remained prohibitively expensive. Surely there are avenues for people who are serious about it but don't have the money to drop on pottery guild memberships and kilns, right? Would it just be knowing the right people at that point?
After I graduated from my high school and its art program (I’ve never had post-secondary education) I went to my communal studio and paid roughly $6-800cad a year for a higher level of membership (storage space and full studio/glaze kitchen access 24/7), give or take. It’s been ages so I can’t remember the exacts, and fees on everything in general has been slowly creeping up. You are correct in that there is a lack of financial accessibility regarding artisanal crafts and global inflation isn’t helping in the slightest, my rental fees are a bit over $1k now and clay prices have tripled ($71cad after tax for a sleeve of the cheapest clay body ((tack on supply shortages and mine closures to the list of problems)) :(
I’ve seen some communal studios with absolutely ridiculous expensive membership fees to ones with various membership options like my studio starting at lower price points, and studios with paid or unpaid internships.
Many ceramicists are very understanding and give their insight and tips, or hooking someone up with their old equipment. I’ve been offered using/sharing a kiln or space in people’s private studios if ever needed. So continuing to try and reach out to servers/pages of online and in person communities and can be worth it.
Government art grants can allow for some studios themselves to be more accessible in multiple ways, including financially, and applying for and receiving individual grants has been a giant aid to the careers of friends and coworkers. It varies on a country to country basis but. god, would sure love to have art funding globally valued and well sustained.
One small mercy and neat thing however is microwave kilns. basically exactly what’s written, it’s a vestibule you put into a microwave, turn it on, and you get small, low fire ceramic (or glass) work which I’ve seen many people use for small sculptures.
I’ve also seen people make gorgeous work via pit firings, raku in a charcoal grill for example, or build a simple wood fire outdoor kiln. Kick wheels are also a possible cheaper investment for wheel throwing.
I’ve dug up and processed some lovely and pretty wild clay around where I live and hope to do some pit firings with it as tests have gone well.
I’ve seen small secondhand kilns starting at $250cad for a manual and seen programmable ones at $600cad. Understanding prices for rewiring, repairs, installation and ventilation etc. also needs to be taken into account, lots of research needs to be done before investing in one.
I hate that I have no clear and helpful answer for you, but if you’re still searching, I sincerely hope much sooner than later you can do ceramic work without having to worry about affording it

Chapter 1: First Impressions
wc: 2.7k
It’s been three months since you first started your job at the division of security operations, a dream you’ve had since you were little. You’ve always wanted to be part of something meaningful, even if you were just a small function in the code. Speaking of code, you hoped to be on the technological side of things, never having really been a hands-on person—well, at least not confrontational hands-on like this job requires. You’d figured it was the perfect choice; what job wasn’t desperate for another programmer? The research you did on this place was insane; you wanted to make the best impression and land a job straight out of university, and your hard work paid off because pretty soon you got that letter. It was an assistant position for some random manager. Okay, maybe it wasn’t exactly what you hoped, but everyone started somewhere. Besides, experience gets you places you were sure you’d learn something in the time you spent working under them. Right?
Wrong. You rock back and forth on your chair for the third time that hour, absolutely bored out of your mind like a little kid restrained from toys. Sorting out the filing cabinets was suddenly the least of your problems when they gave you access to at least a hundred emails to read through. Not to mention your manager practically gave you permission to respond to them however you see fit (not without a glare and warning if you said something stupid, though). Every day you clicked a stupid delete button, the more you started wondering if this was an internship or just absolute hell. Once you hear your manager’s footsteps approaching again, you sit back up with a long sigh, knowing you could either continue this work or sit in a toilet stall and play games on your phone. The latter was looking more tempted by the second, but you quickly reminded yourself that you’re 23 now, and this is work! Clicking on the first email, you’re quick to delete another empty report from an intern.
Your eyes flitter over the next few emails, clicking away mindlessly before you pause..an escort is needed? Only two emails in, and this one seems a little different from the usual data assignment in an Excel document. This one was addressed by another manager, and damn, their title sounds fancy even if you don’t know what the hell it means. You sit up in your seat as your finger runs against the mousepad of the laptop, scrolling down the page. This could well be the stupidest thing to consider. Who would actually consider being an escort to some random agent all the way to Miami?? And stay there until he’s done?? In your own hotel?!
You, that’s who. You didn’t care if he made you carry his luggage or if you did paperwork for the whole plane trip. This could be your big break, working with an actual, experienced agent. If you could just help him out a smidge, that could take you a mile in your work! Peeking over your desk, you make sure your manager isn’t looking before quickly writing back the most sophisticated response along with a quick mention of your name as a candidate. You’d probably be screwed if he did find out you practically promoted yourself on his behalf, but realistically, he won’t. The chair creaks as you lean back again, groaning softly as you remember that an email response will definitely take a week to come back.
Before you know it, you're already switching departments and knee-deep in a tonne of new documents to fill out for the trip. Why the hell hadn’t this agent gotten his passport renewed?! ‘Does he never go on holiday?? Is he an overworker or just the biggest shut-in ever??” You weigh up all the options as you step your way into the small desk space they allowed you to occupy, your hands preoccupied with a laptop, papers, and way too many things in your head. Oddly, this busy office block feels like home, like the corridors of your university cafeteria. This also means you know how to manoeuvre through this situation with ease, getting to your desk quickly and efficiently with no awkward interactions. Though you used to take your time and wish you’d bump into the love of your life and he’d pick up your books, you wanted this job so badly that it was out the window. Thankfully, this had been one of the best first weeks you could have so far; it was practically second nature—
You bite your lip so hard that you can’t tell if the pain is from the blood on your teeth or the hot coffee seeping through the back of your new shirt. Groaning softly, you turn to face the culprit, hoping that they’ll be nice about it like you were. Accidents happen, you think; maybe he just slipped. After all, there’s probably a bunch of interns here too; they’d be in a much worse position than you. But there's no culprit waiting to say sorry or offer to fix your shirt—only a man swerving through the crowds with a suspicious coffee mug that is only half full as he rushes through. Great. Not even a prince charming who will pay for your dry cleaning.
It’s only a few days later when that same man walks by again, and again, and again, until eventually he stops in front of your desk. You lift your eyes from the small little corner you own, stacks of paperwork before you, just because the agent you were escorting was that important.
“Hey- you’re my escort, right?”
And unfortunately, that agent was this man before you. Yes, you would have thrown a fit about the coffee; yes, you would have refused to work with him or forced him to apologise. But damn, you just really wanted that job.
You nod your head, sitting up a little straighter as you push away any of the burning distaste for him and give him a polite look. “Yes, I’m your escort.”“You sure..? I mean.. you kind of just look like any odd intern, no offense. Actually, the interns get a better desk than you.” His blue eyes pierce into you, one hand rubbing at the stubble on his jaw as he raises an eyebrow at you. Only now have you actually gotten a full look at him and his well… unkept appearance. His hair is tousled, stray pieces fall over his face, and dark bags tug his eyes down. If you had to predict his future, you’d be sure he’s on the path to being the embodiment of a die-hard metal fan. You also had a pretty confident guess he’d end up being the boyish lazy agent upon seeing how he grabs one of the sweets off your small pot and pops it into his mouth.
“I can show you the documents, Mr. Kennedy, if you really want—I’m pretty sure I'm your escort.” His words had annoyed you a little, but you couldn’t just get angry at him. He’s practically a veteran agent, and it’s clear that he doesn’t even know you existed before today; no one really has.“I’ve had enough of doing paperwork; I’m just glad you’re doing mine. So, what have you got planned for me, escort?” He’s a little sassy, it seems, definitely not what you had expected, but you just had to remember to stay professional and keep to expectations. You stifle a sigh as you begin talking again. Maybe this really was a bad idea.
At first it didn't seem to be too bad; you’d carry his important documents stiffly as you escorted him to the meeting with another high ranking official or the like. Even if they were boring, you had to remind yourself that life had its stepping stones, and you’d just have to work yourself through this one to be able to comfortably pay your rent this month on top of chasing your dream. He’d disappear some days off on a mission before he’d come back looking far more grouchier than before. It only seemed to worsen as you soon came to realise that, in the simplest words, Leon had just as much hope left for himself as Chris Redfield did—which was in the depths of hell. You’ve watched him be shouted at numerous times in the passing days over lost work, unfinished reports, denial of missions, and straight up.. slacking off. It was concerning to say the least, and you’re starting to regret all of this already. Most days he barely even had a routine, too hungover from last night’s drinking session to think twice before he started another one at midday.
“Um.. Mr. Kennedy?” You have to speed walk just to catch up to his long strides as he heads towards the exit of this DSO building, already beelining for the bar. “What?” His voice is sharp and barely restrained as he slightly turns his head only to catch a glimpse of you and your meek face trying to ask him something. “Oh, it's just you, escort. What do you want now?” He raises an accusing brow at you as if you had just interrupted something so very important with something that seemed to have the significance of the size of an ant.
“Well, I need you to fill in these documents—“ You begin before he cuts you off, rolling his eyes at your words. “So? Just put it on my desk. Can’t you escorts do anything right?” That only makes you grit your teeth in anger— how dare he insult you because of his grouchy behaviour? “Mr. Kennedy, you told me that last week, and you still haven't done it!”
“Exactly, I told you to do that. So just do it.” With that, he reaches the double doors that lead to exit the building, pushing past into the evening air and leaving you dejected in the lobby.
You couldn’t just let that go, obviously not, so you’d return to his desk every day and slap down another high stack of paperwork onto his desk. If that's what he wanted, so be it—he can deal with it when he practically can't see over his desk. You have a smirk on your face as you contemplate that, imagining him huffing as he goes through the stacks.
However, you’re only met with horror as you realise he’s not even at his desk, already heading down the corridor with a bottle of beer in his hand again. What the hell? You want to scream right now because there is no way you could have landed a job this badly. Yeah, you’re a bit of a hard worker, but this is the DSO—you have to be one. This occurs more and more frequently, watching as he just saunters down to the bar again or maybe to the balcony for a smoke; either way, he doesn't intend to look at a single word of the work set out for him.
It gets to the point where you have Chris coming for you too, asking where the hell the mission reports are, but all you can do is show him the place where Leon’s desk is, the reports overflowing. The agent begins to dislike you after that, scolding you for “snitching” him to Chris and then stating he’s had enough of your persistence. So, instead, he tries to annoy you and slaps twenty dollars in your hands. “Go buy me a bottle of beer, and then i want you to go to that diner down the road, order the special, but specify that I want no mayo in the burger and a seedless bun”
So of course, you trudge yourself down the road to the diner, pickup the food all while cursing him out before returning only to be met with another twenty dollars and another order. This repeats again, and again, and he seems to seethe each time you give him that same unfazed look upon your face.
In the past four weeks of this job, somehow you had dropped from earth to hell and then lower. It was like he was actively trying to kick you out of this place, and if you didn't have the paycheck and a dream right now, you’d go in a heartbeat.
You didn’t realise the severity of the situation until you’re panicking on a Monday morning, trying to find him because you both have to be at a meeting in ten minutes and he still hasn't clocked in for his shift. You’ve practically begged every security employee to tell you if they see him, knowing that Chris might just have your head if you don't get there in time. It’s even worse that the meeting is twenty minutes away from the DSO building you’re always at—this is a guaranteed failure. The phone goes to voicemail again, so you reluctantly decide to just attend the meeting anyway. You usually weren't allowed to sit inside with him, but the least you could do was give them an apology to save the DSO some face. Even if they wouldn't take ‘I have no idea where he is’ as an excuse.
You stop outside the building, cheeks flushed from the cold since the traffic was so bad outside you had to jog over to the building. Taking the lift up to the meeting room, the other attendees give you a dirty look, assuming you were some stupid intern in the wrong place. Their looks almost made you cower, but you know you aren't doing anything wrong. “Excuse me, sir.”
You stand awkwardly in front of the meeting’s host, your body awfully rigid from your next words. “Yes?” He looks at you with disdain, not expecting to be spoken to by some kid.
“The agent I'm escorting here, Mister Kennedy, will be a little bit late or may as well not turn up at all. I.. uh, hope you understand?” You attempt to explain, not really sure how to word this.
What you didn't expect was for the man to grow furious, slamming his hand against the wooden table, which immediately made the entire room stop their menial chatter to stare. “What do you mean he’s not coming? He’s our top agent.” He barks out, and you have no idea what to say, backing up from him as you fumble.
“I’m sure he’ll be here soon, but—“
“You’re only sure? What kind of escort are you?”
The red that coats your cheeks is humiliating, deepening with each second the silence continues on for. You grit your teeth, muttering out apologies as fast as you can before he eventually dismisses you, and you’re halfway down the stairs before you know it. The back of your hand wipes your face, small tears forming in your eyes at all the gazes fixed on you.
If that hadn't taken the cake, you didn't know what did. To think that he was getting away with all of this was a severe understatement; he was slowly deteriorating his own life from his habits. He’d been kicked off missions permanently now, and then work for him started slowly dwindling. It sounded good—less work right? Wrong. He was practically a week away from being fired altogether, which also kissed your job bye bye. The interns had already begun to snicker about it, even going as far as to ask you questions about him as well. As much as you hated his guts for his behaviour, you hated the sneers on their faces even more. It was the third time you’ve given them a dirty look now, even going as far as silencing one with a sharp glare. You couldn't help but scoff, a mere intern trying to mock an experienced agent? Who the hell did they think they were?
However, after another week passes with little to no improvement, you couldn't deny that the longer this continued, they wouldn't even have someone to mock anymore. The issue was, what the hell could you even do? Chris had fully given up on him at this point, as had most of the operatives here, and as much as you hated it, it seemed like you were his last hope.

you quit your software engineering job to pursue environmental science?? do tell!
(i have a software engineering job. it makes me sad.)
so when i was like. 10. i had this teacher who taught us basic scratch programming. and i was like. freakishly good at it. i picked it up super quickly and was even helping the other students to fix their problems. and so he said to me "you know, you could be a great computer programmer one day" and i was like. yeah! i could!
so throughout highschool my One and Only goal was to become a software engineer. every time i went to the career counsellor thats what i said. so i did computer science at gcse, and got a 9, and i did computer science at a level and got an A*. (i did other subjects too of course. but those were the ones i was focussed on)
then i finished my a levels and i went straight into looking for an apprenticeship. no one was really interested in me because i didnt have any experience or a degree. so then my dad got me an internship with some guys he knew at a company that worked in his building, and i managed to build up some actual industry skills. then i got an apprenticeship! it paid super well and the team was great and it was work from home.
and i hated it.
i was just sitting in my room at my dads house 9-5 mon-fri writing code all by myself. it was lonely and boring and i didnt really know what i was doing. it was supposed to be an apprenticeship but it just felt like a job. they didnt teach me how to do anything they just said "do this and come to me if you run into a problem". half the time they didnt even give me any work to do for days at a time so i was just watching youtube or scrolling on tiktok. which sounds great but it wasnt because i felt guilty the whole time and was terrified of being found out and fired, even tho it wasnt my fault? they literally werent giving me work to do?
anyway. a few months into it i was like man Fuck this. im going to university. so i started looking at courses. it actually started with astrophysics, but since i didnt take a science at a level i didnt have the requirements for that. then i found environmental science! it was all the stuff im passionate about: climate change, conservation, natural processes and earth science. so i worked on my application letter and applied, and i got in!
so i went to my boss and was like hey. im putting in my notice. i got into university. and they were like "oh noooo we're so sad to see you go :( you were doing so well and we were so pleased with your work and your progress :(" (and i was like. huh?? i literally didnt fucking do anything. but oh well.)
so i worked until the end of my 6 week notice and then i handed my stuff back in and left. i had a bit of a summer vacation and then started uni! and ive been here for just over a year now :)
its honestly so much better. i have so many new friends, i got to move out of my mums house, im in full control of my life.
so take this as your reminder that its never too late! you can always change your path.
you are in control.

Don't really understand why Aether foundation employees wear white if some of the stuff they have to do includes pokemon husbandry and fieldwork but alright cool aesthetic
Tumblr media
(But becuz Wren goes to Alola for a conservation programme supported/partially funded by Aether maybe they'd want him to wear this or something similar when doing fieldwork and Wren pleaded to Burnet PLEASE Don't Make me Wear That.)
Like do they have really good washing detergent and washing machines at the foundation for employees to use for free? Becuz you can't expect them to knock off from work and spend hours scrubbing mud and pokemon bodily fluids off that. There are many employees in their clean sterile facility, but there are also some at outposts on the mainland islands doing fieldwork and helping stray pokemon so they will get dirty.
How much do they even get paid tbh since most of them arent in on the UB stuff and only do humble conservation work. You know how after internships you gotta work for the place, yeah I don't think Wren wants to do that mostly cuz of the uniform.

Name: Pedro Vázquez Species: Human (Non-powered) Occupation: Park Ranger Age: 30 Years Old Played By: Kitty Face Claim: Sean Teale
"Shut up, I’m not a Boy Scout."
Ever since he was tiny, Pedro was definitely a nature kid. He enjoyed exploring caves and climbing trees, and he had a collection of cool rocks that his mom helped him paint. His drawings involved a lot of green pencil, and/or random animals he’d either seen or imagined. In this kind of place, where birds can have human teeth, the line often blurred between those two things.
It wasn’t surprising that he enjoyed biology class as he got older, taking an eclectic mix of science and art courses, and eventually joining the Wildlife Ecology programme at UMWR - where he tagged along with cryptid searches despite being absolutely terrified about actually finding one. He didn’t want to look like a loser or anything.
His willingness to go in search of creatures in spite of his fear didn’t go unnoticed - and alongside his family name, that secured him a State Park internship. He didn’t think that was going to be his career even though his mom’s side of the family had been doing it since forever. It was always really clear it was his own decision whether to take it up, or go do something more mundane elsewhere.
Pedro’s creativity made him thrive in that environment, which was something he hadn’t quite expected. It involved more entertainer skills than he’d thought, because people remembered safety measures a lot better with a fun rhyme or a really bad pun.
The problem with working in a dangerous place for years was that you couldn’t be on your guard all the time. It was literally impossible. All it took was the combination of complacency and momentary inattention, and he found himself joining the ranks of those who’d lost their lives to the woods - or their contents.
That was, until he found it again. He doesn’t know - nor does he want to know - the details, but his mom paid someone to bring him back. She said she wasn’t going to outlive her only son, no matter the cost. Pedro refused to listen to any more explanation. Someone else had to die for him to live, he understood that much, but had no desire to find out who. He’s working on the mixed feelings he has about it all. Parents would do anything to save their kids, sure, and he gets that - but that doesn’t automatically make it okay.
Not knowing the details was his choice, and he stood by it, but that came with its consequences. The person who resurrected him could be literally anyone. He could cross paths with them any time of day and not even know about it - or maybe he would know about it in some kind of weird mystical way. They were probably evil, because you would have to be to be some kind of resurrecter-for-hire - or at least someone with way weaker of an ethical code than him. He would rather that didn’t rub off on him.
It was normal to feel lost and distant after being…re-alived, right? There’s something missing - or something off, he isn’t sure what. Maybe there’s something that’s not even him at all left over. Maybe he’s secretly evil and he doesn’t know it yet. As far as everyone else is concerned, he went missing and now he’s back. That’s how he wants to keep things. He must be overthinking this.
Except, life is never quite that simple. Try explaining to your friends who know your pain tolerance is practically zero that you somehow decided to get a creepy looking tattoo? Okay, that one can be blamed on bad life choices after a drink or several - and people are kind of willing to believe that about him. A little light bullying from colleagues is definitely better than the alternative.
But the scars are harder to cover up. Especially now it’s coming up to summertime and he doesn’t have any non-suspicious reasoning to avoid swimming and sunbathing. He has been pretty lucky so far, if you can call it that, that he seems to run colder than he used to. Maybe he’s imagining that, but people have been wondering how he can tolerate wearing a sweater on long hikes as the weather gets warmer.
For all his creativity, he isn’t good at excuses. He can’t keep them straight. Maybe if he told them the truth but made it sound like a joke? Or, he could have technically been in hospital and had it be touch-and-go for a while. They look like he went a few rounds with a clawed thing and lost, which is basically what did happen, but that in combination with the weird tattoo? Someone would put two and two together. Especially in his line of work, where the improbable was practically mundane.
Character Facts:
Personality: Good-natured, empathetic, kind, creative, fearful, uncertain, naive, daydreamer
Pedro is that person who pulls out a guitar to play Wonderwall, despite the fact that absolutely nobody likes it. He is enjoying himself, and it wards off wildlife and eldritch beings.
He likes puns entirely too much, the kind of wordplay that results in audible groans. This also means he’s part of the team that comes up with cautionary rhymes for the visitors to remember.
Prior to his untimely death, he was a Park Ranger - not necessarily a very good one, but his family have consistently served over centuries. He liked the stories, and working in the outdoors, so it wasn’t a big deal.
Pedro is bilingual (English and Spanish).

Flashback to Bower on Argentina. An excerpt from Revenge describing the "internship": by u/QuesoFresca
Flashback to Bower on Argentina. An excerpt from Revenge describing the "internship": "During her second year, still uncertain whether she would make it as an actress, Meghan asked her uncle Michael Markle, by then a communications expert for the US government, to arrange a five-week internship as a junior press officer at the American embassy in Buenos Aires. ‘I hated the idea of being this cliché, a girl from Los Angeles who decides to be an actress,’ she explained later. ‘I wanted more than that and I had always loved politics, so applied for an internship.’60 Thomas paid for the ‘study programme’. Her half-sister Samantha would later claim that Meghan was not actually employed in the embassy, but was actually at a school attached to the embassy that arranged work experience.Towards the end of her stay, Meghan took the Foreign Service Officers Test, the preliminary to judge whether a candidate is sufficiently proficient to take the more demanding exam to enter the State Department. After never showing any interest in maths – a basic requirement to become a diplomat – she failed the three-hour exam. The following year, she returned to Buenos Aires to meet a boyfriend. Thomas Markle paid for that trip too. When Meghan called from Argentina, saying, ‘I need $500 to get out of the hotel,’ he sent her the money. On her return from Argentina, she decided that she would follow the cliché – acting. Later, she would mention an introduction to an agent called Drew who was apparently impressed by her performance in a student film. ‘You’re going to make money,’ Drew promised, ‘and I’ll take 10. I think you should stick around.’ No one has since been able to identify ‘Drew’.61" post link: https://ift.tt/7Wk5HLa author: QuesoFresca submitted: August 18, 2024 at 10:21PM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit disclaimer: all views + opinions expressed by the author of this post, as well as any comments and reblogs, are solely the author's own; they do not necessarily reflect the views of the administrator of this Tumblr blog. This barely makes any sense anymore
I've seen too many artist and devs give up because of the lack of Junior-Mid level positions in the industry.
I have no idea how your supposed to get experience when the only entry level positions are Internships you can only do while your in College.
Internships that don't hire you until your in the last few months of your program.
So you only have maybe 1 year to maybe a 3 months of industry work you could get in but also not be paid.
And thats to see IF theres position that could possibly get that leads to employment.
last year, students asked me how they could get positions or start out in the industry
I still don't have a straight answer.
Its ridiculous how far employers expect you to get and yet none of them pave that path.
You won't see that in the AAA scene
and I'm seeing it spread in the Indie scene.
I'll say it.
Cause its true.
everyone wants you to climb and yet theres no ladder.
I wish I could tell others a sure fire way to make it. But there isn't. And employers aren't interested in New Perspectives.
They aren't looking for fresh, motivated talent.
Because at the end of the day, they want to pump out a product and it has to meet every single standard and expectation. They outsource artist and crunch programmers
And it just starts feeling less and less like a viable career path.

UNDP Internship Program 2025-26 | Apply Now
Tumblr media
This One Internship Could Be the Career Break You Didn’t Know You Were Waiting For… What if one decision—one application—could place you at the heart of solving global challenges? What if you could work with world leaders, policymakers, and international changemakers without spending a fortune on grad school?
The UNDP Internship Program 2025-26 might be that opportunity. And the best part? It’s real, it’s open, and yes—you can apply now.
What Is the UNDP Internship Program?
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the world’s leading agency on global development, working in over 170 countries to end poverty, build climate resilience, and promote inclusive growth.
But here’s what they don’t tell you on the official page: The UNDP Internship Program is one of the most strategic launching pads for global careers—whether you’re aiming for a UN role, international NGO, or even consulting with the World Bank. This isn’t just another internship. It’s a career catapult.
Why It’s a Big Deal in 2025-26
In a world shaped by climate emergencies, economic recovery, tech inequality, and conflict, the demand for young, dynamic, and globally aware talent has never been higher. The UNDP knows this, and they're actively seeking interns who can bring fresh solutions to complex issues.
What makes 2025-26 even more exciting?
Hybrid & remote options: Interns are now placed in physical offices or virtually, allowing greater access to opportunities regardless of your location.
Wider eligibility: Students and recent graduates (within 2 years of graduation) are now encouraged to apply.
Global placements: From New York to Nairobi and Geneva to Jakarta, interns are joining real UN teams in real countries, tackling real problems.
Who Can Apply?
Here’s the surprising part: You don’t need to be a policy major or have years of experience in international development. You do need to have:
Be enrolled in a graduate school program or the final year of a bachelor’s program.
Or be a recent graduate (within the last 2 years).
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French, Spanish, or Arabic is a bonus.
A passion for international development, public policy, economics, climate action, digital innovation, or humanitarian work.
No prior work experience in the UN is required.
What You’ll Gain
Still not convinced it’s worth applying? Here’s what former interns walk away with:
Real UN experience working on high-impact projects (not just fetching coffee).
Access to global networking opportunities with diplomats, policymakers, and sector leaders.
A polished resume that will stand out anywhere, from embassies to Ivy League grad schools.
A foot in the door for full-time UN or NGO roles—many interns are hired back as staff or consultants.
Is It Paid?
Historically, UN internships were unpaid (yes, really). But that’s changed. As of recent updates, UNDP now offers a stipend to cover living expenses in many of its locations, especially in hardship posts or costlier cities. Remote interns may also receive support depending on the assignment. Translation: This is not a luxury-only internship anymore.
How to Apply
The application process is straightforward but competitive:
Head to the UNDP Jobs Portal
Search for open “Internship” positions (by location, focus area, or language)
Submit your CV, cover letter, and proof of enrollment or recent graduation
If shortlisted, you’ll go through a brief interview and onboarding process
Tailor your application to show your global mindset, teamwork skills, and passion for impact. They’re looking for leaders, not just learners.
Deadlines & Timeline
UNDP accepts internship applications year-round, but specific roles may close quickly. For 2025-26, some of the most popular placements fill up months in advance, so the earlier you apply, the better. Don't wait for a “perfect” moment—start now.
Final Thoughts: Why You Shouldn’t Miss This
The UNDP Internship Program 2025-26 isn’t just a résumé booster. It’s a chance to make a real impact while stepping into global leadership. Ask yourself:
Are you ready to collaborate with people from over 100 countries?
Are you passionate about creating solutions for inequality, climate change, and peacebuilding?
Are you looking for meaningful work that opens doors?
If yes, then this isn’t just an internship—it’s your launchpad to a global future. Apply now. The next opportunity could change your life—and help change the world.
