Worked dad’s garage nights, toyed with community college, dated town bad boys, miscarried at 22. Ultimately directionless. Embraced by Julian at 26.

Fledgling Years (2000-2010): Julian’s shadow, best friend, lover, partner-in-crime. Camarilla wetwork: border ops, hits, drops, clean ups. Diablerized Aila (2010). Julian abandoned her a month later.

Wilderness Years (2010-2017): Independent courier gigs, smuggling, trafficking, gun-running. Crying in truck-stop showers; learning to control purging episodes after feeding. Restricted to bagged blood.

Alternate Universe (2018+): Tremere fetter analysis delayed, awaiting further instruction before making return trip to Texas state; granted temporary hospitality in Miami. Hello, all! This is Raasa Charron! (Click for Caard!)

He (yes, he's a boybun, I have a fantasia alllll ready to go) is looking for RP!

The Basics

Appearance: Notably bereft of typical Viera facial tattoos, his skin tone is warm and tawny from a life spent mostly outdoors. He's brawny, with broad shoulders and a sturdy build from doing work around the farm. He has a strong chin and dark, depthless eyes, with chestnut colored hair. He doesn't have any serious scars (yet >:D), but his hands are strong and calloused from his chores. Well past maturity, he appears to be about thirty and five summers. Usually, he wears casual clothing, anything fancy would make him unbearably uncomfortable. Trackers' leathers are good enough for him; as long as they don't have holes, he's good to go! He always has two hatchets on his belt, his bow & quiver of arrows, a pair of dice, an array of pouches to store random bits and bobs in and a waterskin.

Demeanor: Raasa's friendly to a fault (unless you're a Garlean, an asshole or both/either, then you can fuck right off), easy to smile and very approachable. He can often be found whistling, mostly in tune, while he does whatever he's occupied with. He's generally awkward around other Viera since he was raised by an elezen woman and doesn't really know much about his own people.

Hooks

Dalamascan By Birth: Though he was born in Dalamasca, he was raised in Coerthas, where he has spent the vast majority of his life. He's recently left Coerthas in search of his brother Elias Charron and while he has located him, he's been struck by wanderlust and a desire to see more of Eorzea. Thus far, he's been all over the Shroud and Mist, specifically, but he wants to see the rest.

Adventurer: While he's a hunter/archer (not a bard) and for the most part self-sufficient when it comes to feeding himself, life does come with costs and so gil is a necessary evil. To that end, he'll take on pretty much any odd job he can find, whether its an escort through dangerous territory, a hunt, courier gig or pretty much any other non-criminal enterprise.

Imperial Nuisance: He was five when the Empire rained devastation on Dalamasca and Livia sas Junius murdered both of his parents as suspected rebels against the Empire. For this, he feels perfectly justified hating Garleans and anyone who defends them. He's not a killer at heart, so he doesn't go out of his way to murder any he comes across, but if they give him a good enough reason to, he'll put them down (like attacking him) and sleep like a baby that night.

Cursed: For anyone that can read aether or see curses, Raasa has a whammy of a curse on him. For those familiar with them, it appears to be fae-based in origin.

What I'm looking for: Friends, lovers, rivals, employers, dark rp, fluff... pretty much I'm down with anything and everything. I have very few triggers, so dark RP doesn't bother me. I tend to write short paragraphs interspersed with snappy dialogue, but can mirror to my partner's preference.

When the Moon meets the Morning, Chapter 2 - Morning Meeting

Summary:  Raphael is going on missions with Captain Jupiter as he always does when he meets an orange-wearing turtle yokai who feels oddly familiar.

It's a day after the forest fire incident, and already news has spread about the heroic efforts of Captain Jupiter and his sidekicks. Captain Jupiter was in some tavern regaling folks with the story, and Red Fox had urged Raph to come with her to a healing house to check for any injuries. Raph insists that he is fine, but she just wants to be cautious and she always worries about him, so he relents. Red Fox accompanies him to check on some of the victims of the fire. Captain James was slightly wrong about everyone being accounted for - everyone had gotten out of the forest safely, but they were somehow left with one extra - the lizard guy that Raph had saved last minute.

"He's a gecko, actually," a healer informs them when they get to the healing house. "He didn't sustain any burns, but he breathed in too much smoke, and between that and the hit to his head, he'll have to be here for a week or so to recover before he is able to give any real answers to where he came from or if he has any family members."

Raph looks at the liz-- gecko with some concern. He seems to be younger than Raph, not a toddler or anything, but still a little kid and his heart goes out to him.

His gaze shifts to Red Fox as she speaks to the healer. "Thank you. In the meantime, I'll keep an eye out for any missing person posters or notifications. I truly hope we don't have another orphan on our hands." She makes a furtive glance in Raph's direction as she says this. Raph has always felt safe enough with Red Fox and the Captain, and they had given him a home for a majority of his life, so he never really felt like an orphan, but every once in a while Raph is reminded that he was once that strange turtle yokai the two heroes were given to take care of one day.

Red Fox turns her attention to Raph. "Did the healers find any injuries on you? You were in the fire for a while." Her round eyebrows raise in worry.

"There was nothing really, just a small burn on my tail that they healed up right away with a small spell, no biggie." Raph gives her a wide grin.

Suddenly the door to the building slams open and a voice calls out loudly "Is Red Fox here?!"

Everyone in the healing house turns to the door with different looks of surprise or annoyance.

The owner of the voice is a green yokai in Courier’s Guild garb with a bright orange scarf, a patched up mailbag, and a tattered brown traveler's cloak. His round features make him look quite young, but what really gives him away is the gap-toothed smile and bright yellow freckles. Raph recognizes him immediately - it's the turtle yokai from last night! Raph feels a mixture of surprise, and relief that the one that had helped him had made it out of the fire okay.

The boy looks around nervously at the annoyed looks as if he can feel their glares. But as soon as his eyes make contact with Raph's his nervous grin spreads into a genuine one. And when he sees Red Fox standing beside him, his body seems to vibrate with excitement. Much speedier than expected, the turtle yokai zooms over to Raph and Red Fox in an instant.

"I found you!" he cheers brightly, grasping the red panda yokai's hands. Red Fox happily takes his hands in hers without hesitation. Then the boy looks up at Raph in wonder and exclaims, "And it's you!!"

Raph doesn't really know what to say, so the words that tumble out of his mouth are, "Yeah, it's me."

Red Fox's mouth curls into a friendly smile and she puts her hand under the boy's chin and gives him a little scratch. The boy closes his eyes and trills happily at the touch. "If it isn't my favorite little messenger," she says. "Do you two know each other?" She looks between him and Raph.

"Well, uh, sorta, we only kinda met last-" Raph's explanation is cut off by the exuberant child.

"Yes, we know each other! He was there fighting that forest fire last night and saving a bunch of people! It was so awesome!" The kid looks up at Raph with such profound amazement, that Raph feels something stir in his heart that he can't place. Is this what it's like for the Captain when people praise him?

“Oh, were you one of the people that Raph helped last night?” Red Fox asks.

“Er, kinda the opposite,” Raph says. He turns to Red Fox and asks, "How do you know him?"

"He's come to me a few times for guidance through the mountains to deliver packages."

So that's why the kid seemed so familiar last night... Maybe he had seen him with Red Fox when she went on one of her mountain guiding treks.

"I didn't know you met Raphael before," Red Fox says.

"Ra-f-ael," the boy says his name as if trying to figure out how it felt on his tongue. Maybe he liked it because he was smiling again. "You were really cool last night!"

"Er, thanks... And uh thank you, too, for the help last night, uh..."

"Michelangelo," he says with a bow. "But my friends call me Mikey, or Mike, or Michael... Or whatever," he finishes with a laugh.

Mikelangelo then winces a bit and looks behind him.

A small "ahem" comes from that direction and they are met with an impatient glare of a healer. "If you all are going to be so loud can you please go outside and leave our patients in peace?”

"My apologies," Red Fox says as she ushers both of the turtle boys out of the healing house.

Once outside, she turns to Michelangelo and says, "So I'm assuming if you were looking for me, you need a guide through the mountains again?"

"Yessum!"

"Very good, you made it here just in time before we get any major snowfall. Will you be needing to leave today?"

"If that's okay," Mikey says.

"Of course! I just need to get some supplies and-"

"Can I come?" Raph blurts out before he can help himself.

Red Fox looks to him in surprise, "Are you sure? Aren't you afraid of missing out on any missions with the Captain? That's why you normally stay."

Raph nods eagerly, but then shrugs trying to play down his enthusiasm, "Yeah, I mean, I can take Buddy and he can help carry any packages that you have." He looks to the courier. "And I want to help Michelangelo out since he helped me out last night."

The boy smiles at Raph with a grin brighter than a sunbeam. "You wanna come?! That'd be great!"

Raph can't help but smile back. It's true that he wants to repay him for practically saving his life last night, but there was something else about this turtle yokai that he couldn't quite place. A sense of deja vu, a prickle in the back of his mind that he couldn't shake. And there was something warm, and friendly, and familiar about the kid. He's not sure why, and it's because he's not sure why that he wants to find out more.

"And it's Mikey," Michelangelo says. "My friends call me Mikey."

Raph gives a small laugh and nods, "Yeah, Mikey." He surprises himself with how easily the next sentence comes out. "And my friends call me Raph."

Hi

Hi All, Just a post to say hello, i’m new here, after this year i needed an outlet for my thoughts. Mostly on programmes i watch, sometimes life. Not trying to get attention. Just needed to get some stuff out of my brain. 

Little bit about me: I’m 27 years old, i work in the courier industry, which is well... fun at the best of times, stressful on a daily basis. I work with my parents which means i spend 5 days of the week around both of them, my mother mainly. We have a strained relationship, but i work here everyday for my Dad. He has not been well since i started University 7 years ago. And after i handed in my Disseration at the end of Third Year i immiediately started working for them to help them out, my mum was running herself to the ground. Which meant a little extra help was going to go a long way. I studied theatre management at University which is quite a change in career. I do miss the theatre and love it immensely. I’m actually a little bit of a theatre nerd, and tv nerd honestly. Love my old musicals- sounds cliche coming from a theatre student but i grew up watching them thanks to my mum. So i thought that around all the chaos of last year and this year it seems, that maybe reviewing the things i’m watching and giving my opinion on here might save my partner a headache or too. Not that he listens very often, but i’m sure he’s fed up of me going on about old musicals all the time. Will probably talk about other stuff too. 

This is an open space for anyone who wants to talk. I don’t judge. Unless of course your a murderer..... or worse. But anyone can chat to me! God knows i could use the company honestly! Anyway Keep it Floopy !

Discovery Week

One of the problems that we are facing today is this pandemic, this pandemic has brought danger to us and it is really a life changer for us, none of us had ever expected that this will happen to us, and because of this pandemic, the numbers of people that are allowed to go outside are just limited from one person per family, but what about those families who are very busy and doesn’t have the time to buy for their needs? In this time of the pandemic, most of us today are only relying on online selling platforms like lazada, shopee, etc, but how certain are we that we will be receiving the right product? How certain are we that our purchased product is 100% safe, legit and not defective? As a matter of fact, we often buy expensive and overcharged items, also we can’t deny the fact that some of the quality of the products that are bought online isn’t worth it. The costumers today are also having a hard time because some of their heavy equipment can’t be delivered door to door, especially that the majority of us doesn’t have a car and the unavailability of the vehicle brought burdens to us also, especially that most of the couriers will not deliver our orders here in our area because it’s in the “bukid”, moreover, there are also a lot of people who lost their job because of the pandemic. As a group, we hypothesize that most of the consumers are having problems in receiving their items from online stores, most of the time they will receive defective items and wrong items, or products that didn’t reach their expectations, maybe it’s because of the mishandling of the courier in addition to that, costumers today are also suffering because of the unavailability of the vehicles.

And to prove our hypothesis, we had conducted an online interview and this will serve as our hypothesis testing to prove whether our hypothesis is right, as much as we would like to interview strangers, we aren’t allowed to go outside and to interact with people whom we don’t know, especially that we are minors. Last September 10, 2020, I already conducted my interview and completed the 8 people, I only interviewed 8 people because I’m not allowed to go outside our subdivision for I am still a minor. The first four people that I had interviewed are Ms. Corrine Joyce Baloc, Ms. Ghendie Ann Rubin, Mr. Nathaniel Laquia, Sarah Salagantin, and Ms. Cyrell Escudero they were my classmates in Senior High School and they are currently studying at Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan as a Psychology student, it is important to include students in our interview because they are one of our market targets, the four of them shares the same problem, as a consumer, their problem is that they are easily being deceived by the sales talk and being fooled by the pictures in the online shop and they usually get a low-quality product, like such as she would discover that their purchased product does easily get broken after few weeks of using it, they also have a problem of overpricing and overcharging of the products. We included them in our interview because most of the consumers today are teenagers and students. The fifth and sixth and seventh person on my list is Kyneshi Omamalin and Rey Inihao, they are already in their mid-30’s and currently working at Rebisco Corporation at Alae, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, one of their problems as a consumer is that they usually get upset most of the time because of the turtle service of the company today specially that we are in the midst of a pandemic, the service today is really slow and for the eighth person on my list is Ms. Rhoda Petalcurin, she is a housewife and according to her, one of her problem as a consumer is that most of the time, the information of the products aren’t complete that’s why she is having a hard time on what product she will be purchasing because most of the sales lady today doesn’t have a pleasing attitude and aren’t approachable.

Based on the hypothesis testing that we had made through an online interview, we proved our hypothesis right, most of the consumers' problem today is getting defective products, products who aren’t worthy of our penny and receiving wrong items, while some of us are having problems with an unapproachable sales representative and because of that, the consumers often bought the wrong products because they don’t have any knowledge on what product they will be purchasing.

During our group meeting we have discussed on what problem we will be solving, I suggested to them that we will just be making an app that will provide and cater all the needs of the consumers, since our hypothesis is proven right, In order to help the costumers and the jobless people who are in need, the our group decided that we will be developing an app just like food panda and grab, by this app, we will be able to help those who are in need, our app will be called “GRAB IT” our app will not only focus on the foods, we will also catering other concerns, for an instance, there is this girl who needs to buy a new earphones because her old earphones is already broken, all she needs to do is to is to download the app on the play store and app store, after downloading the app, she will see a list of riders that is available, she will then choose her rider and book for an appointment, after booking her appointment, a confirmation code via SMS will be sent to her, all she needs to do is to input the code, after that, the costumer will have the number of the rider so both of us can talk properly and also for the costumers convenience, the costumer will tell her concern to the rider and the rider will serve as an helping hand to the costumer, the rider will then go to the mall to buy her desired earphones, and it will be deliver to their houses, door to door, the mode of payment will be cash on delivery and via bank and for the jeepny drivers, they are the ones who will be catering the needs of the costumers, specifically in purchasing heavy objects and equipment, for example, costumer 2 is having a hard time because his purchased cabinet and sofa sets will not be delivered to his house due to the strict implementation of the ECQ, all he need to do will just book for an appointment and after few hours, his cabinet and sala set will now be delivered to him. To make sure that the costumers are not playing a prank, we will be implementing strict rules and regulations that they need to follow, and if they will be violating this, we will make them pay for a fine ranging from 100,000-900,000 to ensure that none of our riders will be tricked since we will be using the company’s fund to buy their needs. We choose this solution because we want to help the people who are suffering due to the pandemic as well as to the drivers who lost their jobs due to the pandemic, also our prices are very affordable and reasonable, especially that all of us are having a hard time during this times. Our prospect target will be the people who are living specifically in Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro, we will be having three warehouses, our first warehouse will be located at Valencia Bukidnon, we chose that area so we can cater people who are in nearby areas just like Maramag and Malaybalay City, our second warehouse will be located at Cagayan de Oro City while the third one will be located at Manolo Fortich Bukidnon so we can cater people who are living near Manolo Fortich just like Alae, Damilag, Crossing, Libona and Camp Phillps Bukidnon, anyone who are living in the said area, specially that most of the couriers will not deliver in that area, it would be an advantage for us since we will only have small competitors, who’s age are ranging from 15 and up will be our customers, we choose that age gap because most of the people who are in that age are the ones who are fond of using online business and other online selling platforms. Luckily, all of my groupmates agreed on my suggestion.

I learned a lot of lesson in this week, one of them is having teamwork, as we all know teamwork is a lesson that all of us should never forget, because you will have to work in groups in your life, if we will ignore teamwork and cooperation, we will face lots of challenges and difficulties along the way, just like for example, in a group, without teamwork, no work will be accomplished and if everyone works in a group, the amount of work that is accomplished is more than what an individual alone can achieve. When everyone works in a team, we can achieve our goal, it makes things easier for every person in an organization, therefore working in teams helps each person in the team or group aside from that, you can learn a lot of things from your groupmates, and this proves that no man is an island.

Stormsong Investigation, a story by Myf (continued)

(Part III - VI)

We return to the story with a somber evening in Stormsong, the Vanguard had just witnessed an execution of innocent Tidesages, ordered by the Chancellor of the Krakens Counsel. The sun looms on the horizon as dusk falls upon the hills of Stormsong, clamoring with distant echoes of thunder. The Oathsworn Vanguard party begin their trek down the mountainside to reach the town they had just witnessed the senseless murder, -- no, massacre -- that had just taken place. Right as they get near the usual paths along the mountain, they encounter a squad of Horde patrollers.

There was a Goblin engineer that was particularly a pain in the ass. He tossed a grenade right to the feet of the party, a brave panda took it upon herself to dive over it to guard the others from the blast. It was a terribly painful blast, but thankfully all injuries sustained were not too serious and could be treated by the healers and medics on scene. Naturally the Goblin became the primary focus of the Vanguard and he didn’t have the time to so much as even draw another breath. The Orc, Troll, and Forsaken soon fell under their blade as well. Curious a Sin’Dorei had yet to be spotted in Stormsong.. Was it the weather that dissueded them?

The team was now not too far from the town they were determined to reach. It was littered with purple robed tidesages, they weren’t exactly attempting to hide anything so this was definitely a safe town for the Kraken Sage. It would be important to the Vanguard that they not get everyone in the town’s attention. They found a courtyard tucked away, to the side, and saw blood stains all over the stone. The party made their way to the sight of the massacre and now there was only one man, a prisoner no doubt. He was on hands and knees, scrubbing away at the blood and softly sobbing.

The man’s name was discovered to be Brother Wayland, he was a young tidesage in training, like Brother Winston had been. He was very helpful to the Vanguard, he told them about the prisoners there in the town, who had been broken of will, and would either convert, or become husks of whom they once were. He spoke about the few who retaliate, and how their fate was death, brutal and insidious murder. Now he was cleaning up after such an act for merely standing up for a fellow prisoner. At this time a purple robed sage has spotted the Vanguard and was approaching. Brother Wayland lowered his head and got back to scrubbing away at the blood soaked stone pavement.

“Nice talk you havin’ there?” A rhetorical statement as she followed up with “Let the peasant get back to work. What are you doin’ here?”   A Vanguard Paladin spoke up, “We heard of a group called the Krakens Counsel and are seeking more information.” The lady paused and held out a kraken idol. Having positive confirmation the Vanguard engaged. The woman was not a great match for the party, but following her demise, the kraken idol spewed a haze of purple and she arose. She was horribly disfigured now, barely resembling the likeness of a human, her head morphed into what looked like an octopus, with long tentacles drooping down from where he mouth and nose once were. A fire paladin purified her soul to death with righteous and holy flame.

Brother Wayland felt free to speak again and with urgency told the Vanguard of a third Elder Sage in the counsel. The third and final general that if eliminated would surely shoo out the Chancellor. He would likely be forced out of hiding in order to recruit more to his following. He then told the group where this Elder would likely be. They offer to help him escape but he refuses, as he knows his fellow prisoners would be punished for his disappearance. The party affirms they will send in a liberation party, just ensure no one else is murdered in the meantime.

The Vanguard follows Brother Wayland’s instructions on where to find the third Elder and arrive at the cliff of a mountain overlooking a wide river, wide enough for ships to pass through. The Elder was spotted performing a ritual, like the others had, except this Elder had bodyguards. Undeniably due to a security increase. Once the Vanguard had engaged the enemies they found that the bodyguards were for the most part staying out of the way.. A messy fight ensued, with all manner of magic, shamanistic calls, and glorious blade strikes. The man, Elder Gordon, became significantly weakened and collapsed, a crack was heard as his head slammed to the ground. Now the two body guards pulled out their kraken idols and crushed them. They then mysteriously fell unconscious. The gasses then flowed to Elder Gordon and encompassed his entire body. They hovered over him for a moment longer than what would seem appropriate before a scaled hand was spotted balling into a fist. Elder Gordon had taken on a grotesque form even more monstrous than the cultist seen in the town. The Vanguard once again brought blade to throat, for the good of Azeroth.

The Oathsworn Vanguard team was then healing those who had been injured in battle and assessing any long term ailments that would have any impact on duty, when something was spotted at the waterline. The same armored man, the Chancellor, had flown in on gryphon-back to meet with a courier. This courier was sporting the colors of Drustvar. Curious now.. What’s Drust got to do with this? The encounter was brief, and after the Chancellor handed off an envelope they both flew off in different directions. The Vanguard set the best of their clandestine operatives on the case of the Chancellor and the Courier, and waited for the intel to come in.

(Two weeks later, at the Office of the 9th Oathsworn Vanguard, located in Boralus)

It was late in the afternoon already and an urgent meeting had been called, and instructions were given to come armed. A map of Drustvar lay sprawled out across the table, with various points of interest marked. One particularly stands out, having a red wax stamp on it featuring a gryphons head. Lieutenant Myferae wasted no time once all were accounted for, “Good evening Vanguard, as you know we have had our best clandestine operatives on the case of the courier wearing Drustvar colors. The one we saw meeting with the Chancellor after dispatching all three of his elders. Well we have received positive confirmation that the courier has been spotted in Falconhurst this evening, and is staying at the inn. We must act on this time critical information before we lose our shot at exposing the Chancellor.” Following the brief, the Vanguard rolled out with an enviable haste, making way toward the destination marked on the map.

(Falconhurst, Drustvar)

It was nearly midnight, darkness clouded the area, with only a feint semblance of moonlight peeking through. The only other light that permeated would be the numerous lamp posts throughout the town. Drustvar harbored its own welcoming party to the Vanguard. When making their way through the city, they came across a pack of angry wicker wolves. Fortunately the wolves were weak and fell fairly easily, but following the wolves was a trio of upright standing wicker beasts. Two spirit binders and a wicker horror. The spirit binders stayed in the back and began channeling a bright blue beam toward the horror, the Vanguard decided the best course of action would be eliminate the binders before they found out what they were doing. The Horror became enraged and performed a bladestorm like attack, using only his bristly arms outstretched, he cleaved the party and gave them splinters. Nobody likes splinters so obviously they had to kill him. Once the group was done with him there lay only a pile of wicker mess. The townsfolk moved in and assured the Vanguard they would burn the beasts and they could move along.

Once at the inn, they all filed upstairs, following the intel gathered, and sure enough, lay sleeping in bed was our Drustvar Courier. A fear inspiring interrogation followed suit. The courier awoke to a mechanical spider atop him, he eyed his dagger, then quickly changed his mind when he looked over and saw the rest of the group. The courier held out for a while, but he could not endure the entire night, he eventually spilled the beans. He told the Vanguard that the Chancellor had paid him well to distribute letters or recruitment, renewed work contracts, and mercenary hires. He was able to inform that the Chancellor never spoke of his name, but that he is a skilled warrior, and seeks even greater power through the magical realm… He is on a quest to become something like a dark paladin, and he was somewhere in Drustvar that very moment in search of yet another source of power.

Having gathered all the information they could from the courier, they elected to imprison him and turn him in to Boralus for judgement. The Vanguard make their way out of the inn and notice a burnpile and give the townspeople a nod, the nod was returned and they turned back to marvel at the fire. The group then made their way to the docks. At the docks they discovered a hulking Wicker brute. This big guy was pushing a dingy back and forth in the water and making a grunty “splish… sploosh..” noise with his mouth. It was an interesting sight to behold. The Vanguard Field Marshal was able to gleam from the beasts’ rudimentary mind that the Chancellor arrived here by boat with only a Kraken sage guide, and the sage had taken off back to the sea once he had stepped ashore. She also saw that he ate a fisherman and it was incredibly likely that was the fisherman’s boat the wicker brute was playing with. Having gathered enough information from the beast, she released him into the water. The wicker brute became enraged and struggled to get back on the docks. The Vanguard was able to get a few attacks in before he jump out of the water and land on the dock with a concussive force that would rattle the wooden structure back and forth several times. The beast was then put down for good, and tossed over the side and into the water.

The group explored the dock further and found a large kraken idol. They were quite curious about it and someone tried picking it up, but it was quite heavy and they dropped it, it shattered and a toxic purple haze began to spew but a skilled mage was able to revert what had happened in that quick second with a time warp. The team now knew to treat it with much more care, and called in an extraction party to safely transport it. Meanwhile as the kraken idol stuff was happening, a few of the party had noticed a dockworker and had engaged in a friendly conversation with him, for some even maybe too friendly of conversation. Um, haphazardly, the dockworker had become utterly smitten by a certain Dark Iron Duchess. Fortunately that meant that he would be spilling the beans, and he told that he had plans to make way for Stormsong the next morning. He invited the Dark Iron and told her that if she wanted her friends to come along they would need the permission of the blacksmiths, as he was a new recruit and they had worked for the Kraken folk for some years already.

The Vanguard made their way off the docks, through the town, and up the hill to the blacksmiths workshop. They arrived to see an argument taking place between 4 men. One of them, an older man, stormed off to a shed and emerged shortly after covered in blood and had donned a pig's head over his own. He wielded an axe and a sword and was going after everyone and anyone in sight. He had lost his mind, but it was not the time to find out why, first the Vanguard needed to subdue, or eliminate the threat. The blacksmiths were frightened and stood back as the professionals did their thing and within minutes the crazy pig man had been dispatched. With the situation de-escalated the Vanguard was able to talk to the Blacksmiths. They observed some rusty kraken pins on their blouses, and inquired what they exactly do for the krakens counsel. The blacksmiths shared that they are crafting a variety of things, ranging from cannons, to ship parts, to armor. They even shared that they had received a pay raise and an invitation to move to Stormsong. The conversation was cut short when the Vanguard heard a piercing scream of a woman in distress. The party broke into a sprint to the house across the way and immediately discovered a wicker horror, two tentacle faced sages, and a poor woman, held aloft by the kraken sage magic, as the wicker horror stabbed her through the abdomen. “This is what happens when you oppose us!” cackled one of them. The Vanguard unanimously enraged and brought a swift death to the three, but unfortunately the last K’thir cast a spell on the entire party.

The Vanguard leaves the house and by sheer coincidence they spot the Chancellor and a truly massive wicker beast, it had to tower at 11, maybe even 12 feet tall. This was a Wicker Spell Master, and the Chancellor had allied with him, and was bringing him to Stormsong as well. The Vanguard froze in their tracks by the K’thir spell, and was unable to give chase soon enough, and the Chancellor was able to escape with his Devout Elder Kraken Sage, and the Wicker Spell Master. Once freed the Vanguard makes haste to the docks, where the Chancellor had called in rear guards. The Vanguard did battle with these Kraken sages but were stalled too long to catch the head triad of the Counsel before they were off the horizon.

Following the battle the Vanguard found the Dockworker who disclosed his name as Thaddius and was now bearing a shiny kraken pin. They told Thaddius that they had met with the blacksmiths and told him that they would be joining him to Stormsong. They of course did not need to divulge what exactly happened with the blacksmiths, nor mention that they had not discussed an invitation. The sheer power of conviction in telling Thaddius that they were too going to Stormsong was enough convincing for him. He shared with them the location on the map where they were to sail for, and lucky enough, they all could take boats out of Falconhurst! And thus the Oathsworn Vanguard set sail for Thresher’s Wharf, Stormsong Valley.

12/28/2022: Dazzling December

Cornel West once said, “You can’t move forward until you look back.” so I want to dedicate this space to the year that has gone by.

I want to take this moment to stop and reflect on the year that has gone by, to remember both our triumphs and our missteps, our promises made and broken, the times we opened ourselves up to great adventures or closed ourselves down for fear of getting hurt, because that’s what new year’s all about, getting another chance, a chance to forgive. To do better, to do more, to give more, to love more, and to stop worrying about what if and start embracing what will be. Let’s remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other, and not just tonight but all year long.
