Oktober 2023

hi everyone! sorry i've been so inactive, i had finals and had to move back home recently so i've been so busy and tired. in my downtime, though, i've dedicated most of it to writing lore for my characters! here are a couple of them :-)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the left is admiral and the right is adam! (i havent drawn a proper portrait for adam, so its traditional instead) they are the same person, and they share a body, but they exist at different times. admiral is oblivious, usually happy, arrogant and generally a lovable nuisance. adam is a sad poet, a hopeless romantic, and an introvert. he tends to take things a lot more seriously. adam has (minecraft lore soz) been infected with sculk as of late, which is why he is having an internal fight on whether he or admiral takes control of the body unknowingly
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the left is margot and the right is preston! they're brother and sister :-) margot is in her 40s, and she's confident, loud, and will tell anyone anything. she is the definition of a social butterfly... (and she also has little to no shame) preston is the exact opposite; he hates being around people for too long, tends to be quiet and also keeps to himself. he does, however, enjoy the company of his friends and his family. preston is trans, ftm and margot is trans, mtf! just like my sister and i fr
there's a LOT more background on all of them but i'm going to keep it short lmao. hope you guys like them as much as i do :-) thanks for reading and have a lovely day!
(don't mind that all the ocs on this post are brunets with white or silver in their hair that totally isnt inspired by my own desires)

The tradition lives!
Twin Bro and I used to send each other long emails with lots of silly pictures in them. One of our favorite jokes was finding pictures of animals watching TV and making up stories about how they’re medical students watching their lectures.
Example:
Tumblr media
“This guy knows that pediatric dosing is Serious Business. He’s paying close attention.”
I just sent him an email full of that stuff! And all the stories that either don’t occur to me to tell over the phone or just don’t seem important enough. We don’t know the same people anymore, so I’d have to go through like 10 minutes of backstory to explain why that one MA’s one-liner was funny...it’s easier to just write it all down, and I honestly don’t know why I fell out of the habit of sending those emails.
So here’s something to talk about. Showing frustration in one’s voice at work: inexcusably rude, totally fine, or somewhere in between? I’m talking being short while still saying professional words, just changing the tone of voice.
I was under the impression that it was totally fine and a side effect of working with other humans; while not ideal, it happens and the problem gets solved and then the frustration goes away.
New Guy was on the receiving end of some frustration this morning (not by me). He was so hurt that he didn’t talk all morning. He said one thing to me about how he wouldn’t be spoken to like that, then buried his nose in his work.
The silence was glorious.
Tumblr media
“This cat is studying sports medicine.”
I ended up taking Jay to urgent care this evening after work, he’s had an awful cold for the last 5 days and now his ears hurt. Turns out it’s just an awful cold, and he should drink some fluids and rest about it. He’s glad to hear that. I am too.

I've been using Happy Scribe to transcribe roughly ~3h of material in two languages and I must say it's really good?
I'm used to really shitty speech-to-text recognition and while Happy Scribe definitely needs post-editing and can't really distinguish speakers very well it's on an entirely different level compared to the automatic transcription or subtitling you'd find on YouTube or Panopto.
You can also add terms to your vocabulary which comes in handy with names and places.
It's pretty expensive but for those of you that need industry grade transcription I'd recommend it.

Who u fuck ,marry , and ,kill in any fandom u know?, to added in bonus to those three who will u hug?
Warhammer 40k: Fuck Rogal Dorn, Marry Vulkan, Kill Konrad. ILY bb but you're a menace to society. I would absolutely give hugs to Sanguinus Lorgar and Angron. I may die in any one of these scenarios, but worth.
Darksiders: Fuck Strife, Marry War, Kill Panoptos. Because he deserves it for what he did to Death. And i would absolutely give Fury, Draven and Ulthane a hug.

Flipped Classroom Market: Unveiling Growth to US$ 9 Billion by 2033 with a CAGR of 16.2%
The flipped classrooms market is predicted to grow at an excellent CAGR of 16.2% from 2023 to 2033, from its estimated valuation of US$ 2 billion in 2023 to US$ 9 billion by that time.
With the growing influence of technology in education, teachers have a wealth of chances to enhance the traditional lecture format. The traditional method of instructing students, which involves assigning assignments based on lectures they will only hear once, is becoming outdated. While a small percentage of students may have benefited from this one-dimensional approach, the majority of pupils gain from its opposite, known as "flipping the classroom."
𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗽𝘆 𝗢𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁:
Over the years, education innovation has taken many shapes, but few have attracted as much attention and praise as the flipped classroom approach. Through a reversal of the conventional teaching methodology, this strategy facilitates more engaging and customized learning experiences during class time by enabling students to interact with course materials at their own speed outside of class. This piece explores the ever-changing market for flipped classrooms, providing insight into its history, major developments, and revolutionary effects on the direction of education.
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲:
Due to the presence of multiple manufacturers, the global market is quite competitive. The companies operating in this industry provide a wide range of products, including flipped classroom software, flipped classroom services for publications, and more.
To gain a presence in the worldwide flipped classroom market, major firms are employing a variety of development tactics, including technological alliances and collaborations, product innovation, mergers and acquisitions, and regional expansion. In addition, a number of startups are joining the worldwide market.
A US start-up called Playposit provides educators with an interactive web-based video platform for formative assessments both within and outside of the classroom. Teachers can use the platform to share content with peers, keep an eye on their students' progress, and access a video archive. It is compatible with users' current video hosting service and learning management system (LMS).
A US-based start-up called EdPuzzle provides assessment-focused software that lets educators and students make interactive internet films by adding audio notes, comments, multiple-choice or open-ended questions, and tracks. You may use films from sources like TED, YouTube, and National Geographic to create interactive Edpuzzle videos.
In April 2021, Panopto, a prominent provider of software for flipped classrooms, announced that it will acquire Ensemble Video, a company that creates video management software for K–12, higher education, and businesses. With this investment, Panopto's customer base will grow dramatically as thousands of new users are able to utilize its services.
Redefinition of Learning Dynamics
The flipped classroom approach is an example of how education is changing from passive lectures to collaborative learning and active interaction. Through online platforms or digital learning tools, students are exposed to course content, including texts, lectures, and multimedia resources, outside of the classroom in a flipped classroom. After that, class time is devoted to group projects, debates, and practical exercises where students may put their knowledge to use, ask questions, and get immediate feedback from teachers. This method encourages critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a more thorough comprehension of the material.
Growth catalysts and market dynamics:
Several factors are driving the rapid expansion of the flipped classroom market. The flipped classroom concept is becoming more and more popular with educators and students alike because to the growing need for personalized learning experiences and the increasing acceptance of technology in education. Furthermore, the development of digital content repositories and online learning platforms has made it simpler than ever for teachers to produce and distribute course materials for flipped classroom settings. In addition, the COVID-19 pandemic has expedited the shift to remote and hybrid learning models, increasing the need for cutting-edge instructional strategies like the flipped classroom.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗱:
Cisco Systems, Inc
Dell Technologies
Crestron Electronics, Inc

Panopto
Openeye Scientific Software
Qumu Corporation
Opportunities and Difficulties in the Market:
The Flipped Classroom Market faces obstacles like digital equity concerns, technology integration hurdles, and teacher resistance to change despite its optimistic growth trajectory. These difficulties do, yet, also offer chances for creativity and commercial growth. Stakeholders in the flipped classroom ecosystem may provide new growth opportunities and positive outcomes for children of all backgrounds and learning capacities by addressing issues related to equity, inclusion, and access. Furthermore, chances for continued innovation and improvement in flipped learning techniques are presented by the ongoing development of educational technology and pedagogical practices.
Prospects for the Future:
The flipped classroom market has a bright future ahead of it. The need for flipped classroom solutions is anticipated to grow as long as student-centered pedagogies, digital innovation, and individualized learning are prioritized in education. Moreover, the flipped classroom model provides a tried-and-true strategy to engage students, encourage active learning, and support academic performance as educators and policymakers work to solve the issues of remote and hybrid learning environments.

Stakeholders in the flipped classroom ecosystem have a chance to drive innovation, advance equity, and influence education for future generations as the market develops and grows.
