Red-crested Cardinal (Paroaria coronata), family Thraupidae, order Passeriformes, found in central South America
This bird is not a "true cardinal", but is actually placed int he tanager family.
They have been introduced into Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

Scientific Name: Paroaria coronata
Region: Native to Argentina, Bolivia, southern Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. It has been introduced to Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
