Hello, hello! Welcome to my main blog, where the DCA fascination consumes! My alt blog is @sharetheartman, go check it out if you wanna see the amazing art this community has to offer!
My Ko-fi (if you're able to help a struggling writer, very much appreciated. Can request written commissions if you want): BlueMoon1331
Below is a list of all my current fics on A03 and planned AUs! Give them a read if you love fantasy and the DCA! (Updated to divide between the SFW and NSFW stories)
<<<<<First up, the SFW section!>>>>>>
Finished Works:
One Lost Star- You are a bit of a hermit, living solo off the land since the death of your grandfather. Until you draw certain godly attention, that is.
Scarlet Masquerade- The sole heir to your kingdom, you find yourself caught in the tangled web of the automaton emperor's plans. However, things are about to go from bad to worse when you catch the interest of the deadly automaton assassin sent to end you.
WIPs:
Cosmic Journeys- Trapped in the depths of depression, you seek an unfortunate out. The nearby land owner won't let that happen, though. Thus begins a journey of self-worth and finding hope in a world of madness and compassion, monsters, saints, and everything in between.
Come and Go- A Megamind-inspired AU with Sun as Metroman, Moon as Megamind, and Eclipse as Titan, while you are a delivery driver caught in the middle.
Unusual- An oceanographer, there is no place you'd rather be than scouring the depths of the seven seas, studying its plant life and creatures, in particular the infamous mers, beings most of your co-workers are quite wary of. They don't seem to mind you too much, though, a fact you try not to put stock in until an encounter on the beach near your house flips your entire world upside down. Strings of fate and a battle to rule the oceans with you as the key? Ridiculous. Right?
Of Metal Parts and Roadside Shenanigans- You are a trucker traveling home before unwittingly tripping headfirst into a giant mystery. (More of @deceptiveshadow's Blood Moon cause I love him and cannot help myself.)
One-shots:
Party Crashing 101- A piece inspired by the mafia episode from Helluva Boss. Badass, protective reader ftw XD
Blooming In Adversity- You and the princesses were great friends in your youth, until you had to move away. Years later, you return, your friendship blooming anew. However, dark plots turn in the background, and it may be up to just you to save them.
Phantom Tide- You are a siren, crushed under betrayal. Sun and Moon are brothers recovering from the throes of grief. Perhaps you may be just what each other need.
Connotations- Your duties as a druid are fairly life-consuming, but you have happily devoted yourself to them. Keeping the peace is not the easiest, but you do it all the same. Unfortunately, the arrival of contesting priests threaten your efforts, setting you on a collision course to meet three of the forest's most powerful caretakers.
Diamonds and Iron- Being a rather big-time mafia boss, of course Eclipse needs places to stash away his income. As an outdoor enthusiast, you love visiting the local motorsports arena when you can afford it. Oh, who's that standing in the middle of the track, where you can't see?
<<<<<<<<<NSFW area ahoy!>>>>>>>>>>
Finished Works:
Never Play Cat and Mouse With Vampires- Living alone is a necessity, your skills in hunting, magic, and evasion giving you all you need for contentment, or so you tell yourself. In your newest home you, unfortunately, find that your capabilities only draw the infatuation of three local creatures that are intent to finally capture you and make you theirs. Annoyingly, they may just get that chance.
Dancing In Orbit- The lunar vampire is the last of his kind, a deadly plague on the Earth that refuses to yield despite the uncountable years that have passed since the last of his kin and kind died off. You, running from your intertwined past, seek to finally put an end to that, with some help from friends old and new.
Familiar Constellations- The vampires get a bit quirky about you, especially when you egg them on. Mature. Very, very mature. Good gods they are rough, but you love it. After all, you can get a bit rough with them, too.
Gravity- Featuring another of @deceptiveshadow's lovely OCs, Nova. Normally quite the quiet and cat-like companion, you join him for a round of games in which his behavior becomes increasingly odd. That's nothing compared to when you strangely wake in the tower the next day, having no recollection of how you got there, and what comes after.
WIPs:
Embers and Ash- Ghost hunting is your profession, and you are damn good at it. Which is why you don't think twice when you're hired to cleanse an abandoned mansion of its otherworldly resident. Too bad this job is not the cake walk you thought it would be.
Burning Stars- You run your farm alone on a world teeming with aliens and humans, content with your animal family and helpful community, even if you keep the latter at arm's lengths. Until your peace is interrupted by a certain intergalactic bounty hunter, anyway.
Rosewood's Serenade- The eldest child of your kingdom, you have trained since birth to be all your home needs and more, intent to take the throne when the time comes, marriage or no. However, your parents harbor a secret, a deal struck when disaster threatened to destroy all they hold dear, and you soon find yourself meeting a most intriguing being...
Demonic- The saying of Hell is empty for all the demons are here has never been more apt. Caught smack dab in the middle of the infamous Hell-Day event, you come out with an unexpected passenger woven into your soul. Now, you secretly fight to preserve the fragile balance between mortals and the demons trapped on Earth, all while contending with the fact your new neighbors are the very ones responsible for sealing the gates, the infamous Celestial Graces. They also happen to be the mortal enemies of the one currently living in you. Fun times all around, especially with devil himself on your heels, seeking to reclaim what he lost.
Along the Akesh- Blessed with visions since your youth, you were taken and raised by the temple, becoming one of the highest-ranked priests, second to only the grand heijut himself. With an awe-inspiring festival and ritual that happens only once every five centuries under way, you are eager to meet the moon god, one of the many you have had the pleasure of conversing with throughout your prayers and oracles, in person. Things take an unexpected turn, however, when the temple must pay recompense for an accidental screw up with a gift left by an old friend. You are about to learn just how intrigued you and the moon god truly are with each other.
One-shots:
Bleeding Feathers- You weren't supposed to go into the exclusionary zone, but that's never been a problem for you before. This time, however, you might just get more than you bargained for. Fan piece for @deceptiveshadow's harpy au! (Not TSAMS)
Color Theory- Moving back to your late grandma's cabin, you pray for things to finally settle down. Unfortunately, her myriad of secrets seek to come back and haunt you, but hey, it might not be all bad this time. You could use the comfort of an old friend. Another fic inspired by @deceptiveshadow! Their god Blood Moon this time. (Not TSAMS)
<<<<<<<Lastly, miscellaneous potential AUs!>>>>>>>
Lich King AU- With the three realms in shambles, cut off from each other, it is up to the most powerful warriors of Earth to fend off the lich king and his Elite army, including his own brothers. You, whom offers them a secret safe haven and relaxation when they need it, cannot deny your love for Sun and Moon, nor they you, but with Eclipse hounding for any weakness he can use against his kin, is the danger really worth it? You find the answer may be coming sooner than you would like when the two go missing after a fight.
Spirited Away AU- You have moved to a more remote region in hopes of forgetting a troubled family life. Content to spend your time among the lush jungles of the land, you inadvertently stumble upon an obviously long-forgotten temple. Curiosity eats at you, and you cannot help get closer, initially unaware of the myriad of eyes watching you, until you spot...an icy blue leopard? It's a good thing you helped those snakes and that spider on your way here.
Harem AU- You saved them from certain death, and now the clan of vampire brothers serve you. For years uncountable, you have pulled the strings, quite happy to cause chaos around the world when it becomes too dull for your liking, going from hero to hero. On blood soaked ground, you are content with your helpful vampires, though can things really stay the same forever?

Hi Motts! Hi Motts!
For the lil jealousy prompt thingy:
“I’m not jealous, I’m being absolutely reasonable.”
With the love of my life, emo!Wanda. Please and thank you.
(giving you a huge hug just because)
HELLO LIL BEAN!! I'm doing yours first because you said you were feeling sad! I'm sending you a biiigg hug back! 💖
I don't really think this requires any warnings? Maybe just.. Wanda being clingy and intimidating, but in a sexy and fun way? Whatever, she's hot let's just go with it.
jealousy prompts.
Tumblr media
"I'm not jealous, I'm being absolutely reasonable."
If Wanda wasn't currently burrowing deep as she could into your neck, she could've seen your smile. Instead, she heard the faint rumble of laughter against your throat and pouted, an indignant huff blowing just under the collar of your shirt. "Is that what we're calling what you're doing now?"
Wanda rarely made an appearance at Tony's parties, preferring to keep to herself instead of trying to worm her way through drunken groups of her teammates and upper end Stark Industries employees. Tonight she'd decided to step out, be social, show up and hopefully spend some time with you publicly before retiring to either of your rooms— but Wanda hadn't seen you in party mode before.
Not that you were rowdy, nothing of the sort, but conversation came easy to you and after a few years more than her with the Avengers, you had a thousand and one stories to capture any audience. One group in particular was the sort Wanda minded, the girls who giddily hung on your every word, laughing absurdly hard in an attempt to lean in closer. The ones who were so eager to grab you another drink, to put their arms around you as if you were theirs. And you.. you let them.
Except you weren't theirs; you were hers.
"This right here? Planting yourself in my lap in the middle of a party? That's jealousy 101, sweetheart." Wanda scoffed bitterly, brushing off your accusation in the same breath she wound her arms tighter around your midsection.
So what if Wanda gently persuaded the individuals she deemed too touchy away from you? Women went to the bathroom together all the time; there wasn't anything out of the ordinary with their departure. And you would've thought nothing of it, if you hadn't caught that fading red glow from your girlfriend's eyes as she made her way to you a few moments ago.
"I could've made them eat those tongues they clearly wanted to shove down your throat-" She was cut off by her own yelp, the hand that'd been resting on the small of her back delivering a swift swat to her ass as a warning to behave.
Part of you wanted to believe Wanda wouldn't actually do something so grotesque... the other part of you had seen the lengths she'd go to not only get what she wanted, but to keep what's hers as well. When you pulled her away, she whined so pitifully you had to let this laugh escape. "Such big, scary words from such a clingy little thing."
"Careful, or I'll make you eat your words right along with theirs." You were pushing Wanda's buttons on purpose now, toeing that fine line of annoying her and genuinely getting on her nerves. The latter brought out the version of your girlfriend who never hesitated reminding you who exactly was the one in charge. Because it wasn't you, not really.
Maybe it was the public setting that saved you, or the self-preserving act of knowing when you shut your mouth, but after a minute, the brunette's shoulders slumped once more, her hands reaching out to play with one of your own. Just to keep touching you; Wanda could never get enough of the feel of your warm skin against her own... hers to hold and examine and stroke black-lacquered nails over your open palm, "Asking them to go away was me being reasonable."
Before you could utter another word, her lips crashed into yours, instantly taking ownership of a kiss that, if any of the slurred laughs and taunts were an indicator, the people still lingering around noticed full well. Wanda wanted them to notice; if they needed to see anything about you, it was this: you were well and truly spoken for by a girl who has no issue with reclaiming what's hers.
"Now... we're going to go upstairs and when we get to my room, I'm going to sit on your lap just like this," Wanda sat up on her knees, forced your head back over the couch, hand splayed possessively over your throat and jaw until you were forced to keep eye contact with her and it now was your turn to utter a pathetic noise, the cool metal of her rings stinging your suddenly heightened nerves. "And this time when I'm right here, you're going to show me how sorry you are for letting those silly girls fawn all over you. Understood?"
"Whatever you say, Wands..." Wanda didn't typically use her powers on you without explicit consent, but that dangerous crimson hue shone bright in her eyes again as her free hand dragged her finger over your swollen lips and you knew she was contemplating it.
Maybe if you asked her nicely, she'd agree just this once. "Make sure to say please and I'll think about it."

Film Studies Slashers Part One
Tumblr media
Mickey Altieri x Reader
Words: 2839
Summary: With her revenge plot foiled by campus killers beating her to the punch, the reader investigates the killings only to find that her boyfriend is one of the murderers. This proves to be rather useful in her mission to kill Gale Weathers… until Mickey’s partner takes matters into her own hands.
Notes: Listen… I’m just going to leave this here. Judge me if you will, but remember that this is Timothy Olyphant and the man is beautiful. Plus, Mickey is one of the best Ghostfaces. I’m obviously tweaking some things, but I’m not gonna lie, I actually hate Gale so I was okay writing the reader hating her. I’m going to have to do some tweaking with which is which Ghostface in certain scenes, but I’ll try to make it make sense. I don’t know how much of this I’ll get done, but it’s honestly a blast to write. (I also have a finished Mickey fluff so keep an eye out for that) Happy Halloween!
-
The campus was dead. Pardon the pun, of course, but there was no other way to describe it. With everyone terrified of the killer, going out at night was out of the question for most of the student body.
You hoped he found you. This fucker was stealing your thunder and you were pissed as hell. You had spent too many years sucking up to Sidney fucking Prescott to have your revenge stolen by some Stu Macher wannabe.
Granted, your plan also involved some significant stabbing, but you needed to make sure that this new guy didn’t beat you to the punch. Whoever it was.
“You shouldn’t be out here by yourself, you know,” a voice whispered from the dark. “You never know what kind of weirdos come out at night.”
“Other than you, you mean?” You snarked back, leaning against the streetlamp you stood under.
Mickey stepped into the light. A sly smile spread across his lips.
“Says the one wandering around in the dark armed with…” he reached into your satchel with one hand and ran a finger up your arm with the other, making you shiver. Mickey pulled out your notebook and flipped through the pages.
You winced as his eyes scanned your notes on all of the killings, including pictures of all of the victims so far.
He cocked a brow. “Maybe I should be worried for my own safety. Tell me, Y/N.” He held up your page with a picture of Sidney. “Are you the killer?”
You snatched the notebook back. “Very funny, asshole.”
“I’m being totally serious. That is like Serial Killer 101. You should know, Little Miss Legal Studies,” Mickey teased.
You took a step toward him, looking up at him through your lashes with a darkened gaze.
“I guess that means you should start running, huh?”
He returned your stare, eyes bright and challenging. He put his hands on your shoulders and crashed his lips against yours. You wasted no time either, fingers lacing through his dark hair and deepening the kiss until you forgot where you were. You forgot about the killer. You forgot about Woodsboro. Most of all, you forgot about Gale Weathers.
“What are you thinking about?” He muttered against the skin of your jaw.
You poked his side. “Stabbing and death,” you teased. “You?”
His mouth opened in mock surprise and spoke with a sing-song tone. “Would you believe me if I said the same thing?”
You laughed, shaking your head.
“We are seriously fucked up, huh?” You laced your fingers through his and started walking back down the path.
“But that’s why we work so well.”
Mickey twirled you around, pulling you into his arms again to bury his face in your neck, playfully nipping.
“We have to get to that stupid party,” you said, pulling away again.
He pouted.
You rolled your eyes. “I promised Sidney I’d save her from the sorority swarm.”
“You don’t even like her.”
“I do too.”
“No, you don’t,” he argued, tone still teasing. “And you’ve never actually told me why.” He tried to urge you back to him, but you resisted, a darkness suddenly settling over you.
“It’s a long story,” you said.
He held up his hands innocently. “Okay.” His head tilted in curiosity, but he didn’t press the issue.
“We really should get going”
“Actually,” he clapped his hands together, “I will catch up with you.” You opened your mouth to protest. “I know, I know, but I promise I’ll be quick. I just have this project I have to finish up for class first.”
“Since when do you care about homework?”
“Babe,” he smiled, “it’s for film theory.”
You crossed your arms, frowning. You already weren’t looking forward to this fucking mixer and you certainly weren’t looking forward to going without your usual partner in crime. Mickey wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you close, kissing you in between every word.
“I. Will. Be. Right. There,” he promised. “And then we can make fun of every shitfaced frat boy there.”
You sighed dramatically. “Fine. But I’m getting drunk without you.”
“Fair enough.” He kissed you one more time. “I’ll see you there.”
He went back toward his dorm, you went to the sorority house, both of you taking different paths into the night.
-
If one more preppy girl came up to you with her stupid smile and her stupid small talk and a stupid sweater tied around her stupid neck, you were going to use that sweater to strangle her.
Two of them were talking to Sidney, who kept looking at you to save her.
You gave her an encouraging thumbs up and downed the rest of your drink. You weren’t sure what was in it, but it was sure working.
“Empire Strikes Back.” A familiarly smug voice said across the yard. “It was a better story, improved effects.”
You looked up, finding Randy talking to your oh-so-late boyfriend. Now that was a blue sweater you wanted nothing more than to rip off.
“Not a sequel,” Randy corrected. “It was part of a trilogy. Completely planned.”
Mickey rolled his eyes and spotted you in the process. He grinned. You scowled. He crossed the yard towards you.
“It’s been foooooreeever,” you drawled, tongue weighed down by the cheap liquor. He sat on the bench beside you.
“The assignment took longer than I thought, baby,” Mickey said, putting your drink aside and pulling you into his lap. “But I’m here now, aren’t I?”
Your lips latched onto his neck, fingers tracing along the edge of that silly blue sweater. Mickey took your wandering hands in his.
“Easy, tiger. What would your little Woodsboro friends think?”
“Who fucking cares?” You grabbed the collar of his sweater and pulled his lips back to yours. He didn’t argue again, hands cupping your face and body pressed against yours. You seemed to stay like that for hours, barely even coming up for air.
Everyone else disappeared. Until-
“Something happened.”
“Not. Now. Randy.” You said in between kisses, annoyance clear in your still tipsy tone.
Randy put a hand on Mickey’s shoulder and pulled him away. The look the other boy gave him made him take a step back. Between Mickey’s glare and the news that broke up the party, his nerves were more than a little on edge.
“Listen, sorry to interrupt your little sex party over here, but there are cop cars around the Omega Beta Zeta house. And I’ve got a really bad feeling.” He looked at you pointedly.
Unlike your hometown buddies, you could care less about the latest killer’s hobbies. But where there was a killer, there were bloodthirsty journalists.
You clenched your jaw. “Fine. Let’s go find out who else got sliced and diced, huh?”
Mickey helped you up, keeping his fingers laced with yours as everyone rushed toward the doors.
Across the street, people swarmed in flashing red and blue. News vans clogged the driveway. You stopped moving. Your grip on your boyfriend’s hand tightened.
“What the fuck is she doing here?”
Across the street was the sobering sight of one Gale Weathers. She was heckling some other woman who had her back towards you.
“She was here earlier today,” Halle said. “Totally blindsided Sidney by bringing Cotton Weary to campus.”
“Gale’s here with Cotton?” You exclaimed.
First, a new killer starts mimicking the movie based on her fucking book, and now she’s harassing the survivors by bringing up the past.
Your plan might have to happen sooner than you thought.
“Don’t worry,” Halle added with a smirk, “Sidney already gave her a piece of her mind.” She made the motion of a punch.
“Did you know about this?” You turned to Mickey, whose eyes were fixed across the way.
The woman talking to Gale hurried off.
Mickey’s thumb rubbed the back of your hand. “I didn’t want to upset you.”
“Well, I’m upset now!”
His phone started buzzing. “Shit.”
Your anger shifted into fear, gruesome memories rushing through your head. Your eyes widened as he answered.
“M-Mickey…” You tugged on his arm anxiously.
He listened to the voice on the other side and mouthed “It’s fine.” He brought your hand to his lips as another reassurance.
“I have to take this, I’m sorry,” he whispered. His eyes darted between you and the crowd. “Stay here.”
Mickey stepped away, leaving you with the others to watch the chaos at the other sorority house. That’s when you saw that familiar head of chunky highlights heading towards you.
“Fucking bitch,” you muttered to yourself and headed back to the Delta Lambda Zeta house. With Derek the guard dog at the front door, you decided to go around back to avoid any real interaction with Sidney’s boyfriend. Pitying looks was the last thing you needed from the frat prince.
You didn’t see the flash of black until it overtook you.
And, suddenly, it all came back.
You saw the face of Billy Loomis as you ripped off the stupid, elongated white mask. He smirked down at you.
“I always had a bit of a hard-on for you, Y/N,” he sneered, slowly pushing the knife into your side. He put a hand over your mouth to silence your screams. “I mean, Syd’s great and all but, the principal's daughter?” He chuckled. “I mean, it sounds like something out of a movie.”
He took out the knife and started again.
You stared up at that same mask as it hovered over you, arm raised with the same curved knife that almost killed you.
“Not this time you sonofabitch,” you spat and used all of your strength to bring your knee up into your attacker’s stomach.
They cried out and fell to the grass beside you, but not before they got a solid swipe at your side, sliding through your shirt down to the skin. A familiar, hot sting radiated from the spot and you screamed. You screamed like hell.
“Mickey!” One hand clawed at the ground to pull you away, the other clamped over your now bleeding wound. “Derek! Mickey! Anybody! Help me!”
“Y/N?” Sydney’s voice called from inside the house.
Ghostface whipped around at the sound.
“Syd, run!” You shrieked.
A flash of blue sweater came around the corner just as a large black boot stomped the side of your head. Memories and darkness took over, all speaking with the altered voice of your nightmares.
-
It wasn’t supposed to happen like this. He wasn’t supposed to care. But with every stirring motion, the traitor in his chest jumped.
Your eyes fluttered open and Mickey let out a sigh of relief.
“There she is,” he smiled. “I was starting to wonder if this was going to turn into a The Dead Zone situation.”
“Well, I don’t know, do I have any powers?” You asked wearily, looking around at your surroundings. You were in the emergency room. Guess they figured your injuries weren’t too serious to take you to surgery. You felt at the bandage on your side, letting the haze in your head clear before you sat up. “Come on, let’s get out of here.” You swung your legs over the side of the hospital bed and started to stand, ignoring every sore limb telling you not to.
“Hey, I don’t think you're supposed to do that, babe,” Mickey said, putting a hand out to stop you.
“I’m not staying here so everyone can gawk at me like a zoo animal, Mickey,” you snapped. “Especially when Gale fucking Weathers is in town.”
“I won’t let her anywhere near you.”
Your eyes blazed. “I don’t want your help.”
Something flashed in his eyes. Something you’d never seen before. Something that made you sit down again.
But just as quickly as it was there, it was gone. Mickey looked at the ground.
“I’m going to go check on Derek. He got cut up by the guy that attacked Sidney.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “I think she’s probably more freaked out than he is, so I should probably talk to her too.”
He left you in the hospital room feeling like a total bitch.
-
Mickey stretched his sore limbs as he stepped into the unlocked apartment. He should really remind you to lock that. There were psychos running around.
“Y/N?” He called into the dark. “Baby, you here?”
“In here,” you spoke through a gasp.
Mickey dropped his bag at the foot of the bed, looking at the light pooling out of the ajar bathroom door. He could just see your frame standing in front of the mirror. Your shirt was off and your fingers were peeling up the bandage that the hospital put on the gash in your side.
“Hey, I don’t think you should be doing that-” Mickey started, pushing the door open all the way.
He stopped, seeing the reflection of your tear-filled eyes looking back at him.
You swiped at your cheeks with the back of your hand and turned around to face him, displaying your new wound, along with marks of old ones. Three long, jagged lines along your torso.
He imagined Billy sticking a knife in you and unconsciously clenched his fists.
“It brought it all back,” you said through gritted teeth. “I promised myself I would never be that scared again and today I felt like that weak, pathetic high school girl again.” You ran your fingers over the scars, flinching as you touched the angry, red stitched-up cut on your side. “All because of her.”
Mickey’s brows drew together.
You took a breath and jutted out your chin. “Gale Fucking Weathers.”
“Wait.” He ran a hand down his face, almost laughing. “You just got stabbed and curb-stomped by a guy dressed in the same outfit that someone who stabbed you- and almost killed you- was wearing and you’re freaked out about a journalist.”
“I’ve looked killers in the eye before, baby,” you snapped. “But Gale Weathers is a goddamn necromancer. She brought Billy Loomis and Stu Macher back from the dead and now they’re going to outlive all of us.”
“Babe-” He started to reach out to you, but you pushed past him.
“And we can’t forget about Sidney,” you exclaimed. “Poor, perfect Sidney, the tragic hero of the story. It’s all about her.” You paced back and forth, anger boiling out any soreness you might still have felt. “It’s like nobody else made it out. Randy’s a plot device, Dewey is a joke, and me-” You whipped around with eyes on fire. “I’m not even in it!” You picked up one of Mickey’s shoes, knocking over his backpack, and threw it at a picture on your wall. A photo from high school- with you, Sidney, and Tatum.
Mickey hurried toward you and grabbed your wrist in each hand.
“She wrote me out of my life.” You fought against him, refusing to let him see you cry, but his grip was too strong. “That bitch wrote me out of my own life and now she’s back to do it all over again.”
“We won’t let her,” Mickey said, his own rage starting to surface. He tightened his hold so much it almost hurt. “Gale Weathers is just another hack who will get what’s coming to her and someone else will turn it into just another story.” He let go of your wrists and moved his hands to your face. “I promise, baby.”
His dark eyes held that same look you saw in the hospital. It should have scared you. Instead, it pushed you into him, crashing your lips against his and pulling his body against yours despite the slight pain in your side. Maybe you just needed to put all of your roiling energy to good use. And Mickey was more than happy to help.
-
Mickey got in the shower with a head clouded full of feelings he didn’t know what to do with. He wanted to kill that reporter bitch- not because it would be the kind of poetic justice perfect for his plan, but because she had hurt you. Everything was getting too complicated.
He wrapped a towel around his waist and went back to your bedroom, finding you at the foot of the bed, hunched over and holding something in your hand.
“I thought you were too tired to move,” he teased. “But if you’re up for another round, then I am-”
He stopped as you stood.
The cloak spilled out of the backpack. The knife glinted at your feet. The Ghostface mask gaped back at him in your hands.
Mickey swallowed. “I can explain that.”
You walked towards him, eyes wide and chin held high. Your gaze burned a hole in his panicking heart. Mickey gritted his teeth. He wasn’t supposed to panic. He wasn’t supposed to feel.
You shoved the mask against his chest.
“Y/N…” He searched for the words, more for himself than for you.
You spoke firmly and coolly, like reading a movie line. “I want in.”

Dear polin haters,
okay. we get it. you hate polin, you hate the fact that polin is the next season's main couple, you hate colin or you hate penelope. you are an certified, professional Hater™.
but please, for once, would you muster up the strength and grace to pull your head out of your arse and see that there are OTHER PEOPLE, who are NOT you, who LIKE or even LOVE the ship?
You are entitled to your opinion, but so are we, and we have the right to delight in the fact that our OTP is getting a whole season. we have the right to celebrate WITHOUT you crashing the party with your complaints and words of hate. It's unbecoming and uncouth and honestly embarrassing, watching you flounder about like an scared elephant, so I'm telling this for your own sake.
stop. stop trying to hate and rain on our parade. you look crass, desperately trying to advertise your hatred of a ship (an fictional ship, too!) when you could be spending that energy somewhere more...productive, like maybe taking a course on how to Not Be an Rotten Milk flavoured Major Asshole 101.
Regards,
Polin fans.

Gorgeous - Sneak Peek (JJ Maybank x Original Female Character)
Tumblr media
This is part of the first chapter to a new fic I'm working on, featuring a different character that is outside of Audrey's universe. I'm planning on this beginning in the lull between seasons 3 & 4 of Outer Banks, but we'll see how this develops and what actually happens in season 4. It will eventually be posted to AO3 (if we like it) but for now we can have a sneak peek on Tumblr.
Pairing: JJ Maybank X Original Female Character
Warnings: References to smut; shameless flirting; Gorgeous by Taylor Swift stuck in author's head.
Length: 2335 words
Gorgeous (working title)
The first time Scarlett spotted him was at some random wedding reception she stumbled into. There was a live band, a buffet of food, and a cash bar with a cute bartender who wasn’t checking ID. Nursing her drink, Scarlett stood somewhere between the bar and buffet, leaning against a tall table just people watching. He was tall, with a head of effortlessly messy blonde hair, but it was the broad shoulders that really caught her attention—the way his button down shirt strained when he would shift or reach for his drink made the back of her neck warm slightly. She had yet to see his face, but she kept checking back in between casual glances around the rest of the party to see if he turned.
She wound up in the OBX about a month ago. After dropping out of UCLA after one year in college, Scarlett packed her car with her dorm room items, only to pause in the parking lot outside her residence hall. She was supposed to return home, head hung, having failed her way out of college, where she’d undoubtedly be forced to work in her father’s law office filing papers the whole summer. But as she sat there, hands gripping the steering wheel so tightly that her knuckles turned white, Scarlett decided to drive. She hadn’t necessarily intended to drive east, but before she knew it she hopped on the 101 and found herself on interstate 40, crossing the California state line about seven hours later.
Scarlett drove until she was tired, pulling over, she dozed in her car a few hours before continuing on, eventually stopping somewhere near the Arizona/New Mexico border to rent a motel room and sleep the rest of the night and early morning. Her phone started going off in regular intervals sometime after midnight, and after confirming that all of her locations were turned off, Scarlett passed out in the motel bed and didn’t wake until her stomach demanded food.
It took another two days of straight driving to reach the Atlantic, and briefly Scarlett considered scraping enough money together to buy a one way plane ticket across the ocean and start over completely in Europe, but as she boarded the ferry for one of the islands just off the coast of North Carolina, she finally allowed herself a moment to breathe in the salty, humid air.
She was free.
“Smoked salmon, miss?”
Scarlett found herself back in the present, staring at a rather handsome young man dressed in all black. Judging by the way he eyed her, Scarlett must not look too terrible in the simple black dress she’d hauled out of her suitcase. She lifted a hand to the tray to grab a salon and cream cheese cracker and he gave her a nod before continuing on his way around the party.
“Ok—so I scoped out the buffet line and the dessert table,” Scarlett was met with the face of her only friend in North Carolina, Whitney Pool. She met Whitney on her first day working at the Island Club Hotel, Whitney was assigned as her trainer and together the girls restocked and made up all the hotel rooms on the first three floors. It wasn’t long before they were fast friends, Whitney even letting her crash on her couch until she decided what to do with her life. “They’ve got a carving station and everything—but if you wanna skip right to dessert, I’m right there with you.”
Scarlett laughed, nodding as Whitney glanced over her shoulder at the many different deserts. “Do we think the cake is real or fake?”
Scarlett looked over at the five tiered white wedding cake, the icing piled high as it towered over the rest of the deserts. “Fake,” Scarlett said as she bit into her cracker, the salmon and cream cheese mixing well together, having been to many of these types of events in her life she was well aware of the tricks, “the sheet cake’s in the back, they’ll cut one piece and then take it away.”
“Love the theatrics,” Whitney leaned forward to squeeze her forearm. “Ok, I need another glass. You want one?”
“No—I’ll switch to something else in a bit. More than one glass of champagne gives me a headache.”
“Things rich people say.”
Scarlett laughed, hiding her smile behind her glass as she sipped the champagne. The first time she had the sweet bubbly drink she was thirteen and hiding from her parents in the hotel bathroom during her grandmother’s funeral. In true WASP style, they had the reception in a massive hotel ballroom, complete with glossy portraits and a swan ice sculpture, just as her grandmother requested in her last wishes.
Scarlett and her older brother, Liam, snuck a few bottles of champagne when no one was looking and quickly found out how easy it was to get drunk on Dom Perignon. That was the night of Scarlett’s first kiss, when her brother’s friend, Seth, had kissed her sloppily against the door of the men’s room, drunken hands fumbling to touch her breasts. Scarlett didn’t remember much from that night, but she did recall throwing up all over Seth’s shoes.
Scarlett’s eyes swept the party once more, taking in the older couples swaying to the music on the dance floor, the bride and groom, happy and in love, moving from table to table greeting their guests and thanking them for attending. Scarlett made a mental note to keep far away from the two. Rule number one of wedding crashing was to stay away from the newly married couple.
Scarlett hadn’t expected anyone to notice her, no one aside from the male server had anyway, so when her eyes lifted and met those crystal clear eyes, she thought her heart stopped.
He was half turned, leaning against his own cocktail table, his gaze trained fully on her. When his eyes met her own, every thought vanished from her mind, and instead all she wanted was to drown in those blue eyes.
A slow, small, half smile lifted from the corner of his mouth as he reached for the short glass on the table in front of him, two ice cubes clinked in the glass as he took a long sip from it, draining the light colored amber liquid before he pushed himself away from the table and crossed the grassy area to greet her.
His tie seemed out of place as he smoothed it down, and it didn’t match his shoes the way someone who frequently wore ties would, and based on the way his collar sat, the buttons at the points remaining unbuttoned, told her he wasn’t used to wearing button down shirts either. Scarlett guessed it was a slim cut shirt, based on the way it fit him well around his waist, but his shoulders were too broad for it—and as she eyed the French cuff she was left with even more questions. A girlfriend had most likely purchased or recommended it, but she’d been watching him on and off all evening and had yet to see him with anyone other than a curly haired brunette, and while the boys could be a couple, they didn’t appear to act like one.
Fuck—Scarlett really hoped he liked women.
“I had the entire walk over to come up with a line,” his voice was playful and teasing, his eyes glinting as he smiled fully now, “but all I could come up with was hi.”
“Hi,” Scarlett responded with her own smile, her weight shifting from one foot to the other, “and I think that’s a decent enough line.”
He glanced over his shoulder at the bride and groom before looking back at her, “how do you know Shawn and Andy?”
“Um…” Of course they would both have those names…how was she supposed to make up a story now? “Well, I’m Andy’s second cousin…mom’s side.”
His eyes swept over her, sucking the inside of his cheek as he looked back over his shoulder once more, “that must’ve been an exciting childhood,” he said as he studied her.
“Oh—you know…” Scarlett coughed softly, “how do you know…them?”
“I used to work with Shawn,” he said, “back in high school, plus he basically invited the whole damn island.”
“Ah well…”
“I’m JJ,” he leaned his side against the table, the smile still across his face making her stomach flutter.
“Scarlett.”
“Scarlett,” she really wanted to hear him say her name again, watching as he tasted it, the way he drug the r and l together made the butterflies in her stomach go insane, “I like that.”
“Is JJ short for something?”
“Sometimes,” JJ lifted his shoulder, “nothing interesting though.”
“I find that hard to believe.” Scarlett wanted to reach up and smooth his collar down, but she forced her hands to remain on the table, “you’re from Kildare?”
“Mhmm,” JJ glanced around, taking inventory of the party and who was there, “born and raised. What about you?”
Scarlett hesitated, part of her, the part attached to the butterflies wanted to tell him the truth, but the part attached to her brain told her to deflect so she and Whitney wouldn’t get caught.
“Oh—uh…”
JJ leaned across the table, motioning her closer to him with his index finger, “you know…if you’re gonna crash, you need to keep your lies simple and not at all attached to the wedding party.”
Scarlett blushed, her face heating uncomfortably, “when’s you figure it out?”
“Oh, at the beginning,” JJ grinned at her as they both stood back up straight, “Andy’s adopted and doesn’t know her family.”
“Fuck.”
JJ only laughed at her expletive, “like I said…” he shrugged, “keep it simple. Too much and it’s not believable. So, Scarlett’s your real name?”
“It is,” she nodded, “I just got off work and my friend begged me to sneak in with her, she promised me cake if I did.”
“Cake’s worth it,” JJ said, “I’ve never seen you around though…do you live here in Kildare?”
“I just moved, actually,” Scarlett lifted her arm to scratch along her shoulder, “arrived about a month ago.”
“Ah.” He nodded, as if he’d just solved an ongoing mystery, “that’s it—I would’ve remembered you.”
Scarlett blushed again and based on JJ’s easy smile she assumed he knew it too. “You’re doing ok on the lines.”
“Good,” JJ shifted, “I’ve been out of practice, so that’s good feedback.”
Scarlett laughed and JJ reached up to scratch behind his ear, his eyes lifting as the server from earlier walked by, his eyes trained directly on Scarlett as he passed.
“I’m sensing some competition,” JJ joked lightly, but Scarlett could hear the nervousness in his voice, “friend of yours?”
“Never met him before,” Scarlett shook her head, “he’s cute, though.”
“Got the tall, dark, and handsome thing going,” JJ nodded, “you gonna play that one out or…?”
“Hmm,” Scarlett lifted a shoulder, watching the server disappear into the white tent, “maybe…do you think he looks like someone who gives good head?”
JJ choked on his spit and Scarlett smiled, sipping her drink, pleased that she’d made JJ blush. “I don’t know,” JJ coughed lightly, clearing his throat, “a toss up, probably. Young enough to know that’s what you’re lookin’ for, but the good looking ones sometimes don’t know what they’re doing.”
“So you must be downright terrible then, huh?”
JJ ran a hand over his mouth, his blue eyes twinkling as he looked across the table at her, but before he could say anything the crackling electricity between them was doused by the frantic red head running up to the table, “they have two cakes!”
Scarlett had to take a moment to take in her friend, watching Whitney set her glass on the table, “umm…”
“JJ, hey.”
“Whitney,” JJ’s eyes skimmed the area surrounding them, “is Ricky here?”
“No, you know he won’t crash with me,” Whitney rolled her eyes before looking at Scarlett, “you’ve met Scarlett?”
“Mhmm.”
“JJ is Ricky’s cousin,” Whitney explained, referring to her on again, off again hook-up. Scarlett labeled them as dating, but Whitney assured her time and time again it was just sex. But Scarlett didn’t think cuddling on the couch every Tuesday night watching movies and walking by the docks on Sunday afternoons could be considered just sex.
JJ glanced over his shoulder after hearing his name, looking over to see the brunette from before waving him over, the bride and groom beside him. “I’ll let you ladies get back to your evening,” he ducked his head before sending Scarlett a soft smile, “I’ll see you around, Scarlett.”
When JJ was across the lawn and out of ear shot, Whiteny turned her full attention to Scarlett, “did I interrupt something?”
“I’m not sure,” Scarlett finished her champagne, looking over at Whitney, “you know him?”
“He’s Ricky’s cousin, I’ve seen him from time to time. Cute—a smart ass.”
“Is he attached?”
Whitney took a lengthy sip of her refilled champagne, “he was—but I haven’t seen her around lately. Do you want me to ask Ricky?”
Scarlett shook her head, even though Whitney already had her phone out, thumbs moving frantically as she no doubt sent a text off to Ricky. “I’m going to get a refill.”
Whitney nodded and Scarlett left to wander to the bar, asking for a vodka soda with lime, watching as the server from earlier emerged from the tent, their eyes meeting a moment later. His were a dull brown, but his face was cute and his nose was promising, so Scarlett let him approach, watching as he gently slid a napkin towards her before wandering off with his tray of appetizers. Scarlett thanked the bartender before walking back to Whitney, her eyes flickering over towards the table JJ returned to, except this time she didn’t see him or his friend.
“They took their seats at the table,” Whitney sipped her drink, “finish your drink and then we’ll grab cake and bounce before the toasts begin.”

Which moments do you like the most in "cassandra's revenge"?
The Girl Who Has Everything (Reprise)
Rapunzel throwing Eugene a birthday party and all the stuff surrounding it.
Cassandra crashing Eugene's party (it was the only time since S3 began that I really liked her as the villain) aka homage to Sleeping Beauty/Maleficent.
Rapunzel being so pissed that Cassandra spoiled her proposal to Eugene.
Ruddiger with goggles on
For some reason I really like the very sad horse Cassandra stole to transport Varian.
Varian being all, "Who is she talking to?" about Cassandra and Zhan Tiri.
Nothing Left to Lose
Homage to Emperor's New Groove
Homage to 101 Dalmatians
The gang trying multiple stupid-ass ways to get into the tower.
The fact that there were traces of the old tower all over the interior of the new one, up to and including Rapunzel and Eugene climbing through the window to get into the main part of the tower.
Varian's weird-ass "dream" that Zhan Tiri sent him.
EUGENE'S REACTION TO FINDING OUT RAPUNZEL WAS GOING TO PROPOSE TO HIM.
The fan theory that Lance deliberately led Kiera and Catalina the wrong way around the tower to keep them safe.
Eugene holding Varian's hand when they're brought back in.
Cassandra almost squishing Eugene.
Cassandra almost squishing Eugene being the catalyst that gets Rapunzel to power up.
"I said LEAVE! HIM! ALONE!"
The epic fight.
Zhan Tiri's shadow flickering to reveal her true form.
Lance catching Varian.
How very pretty Rapunzel is when she's passed out, don't judge me. XD
Rapunzel and Eugene snuggling on her bed at the end.

Okay but 101 Dalmatians: The Series is so crazy that it ends up being one of the funniest Disney shows. Here are some actual episodes of the series:
Roger, Anita, and the main puppies come across a cursed village run by an ancestor of Cruella De Vil’s that only appears every 100 years and everyone inside the town is hypnotized to be mindlessly happy, with the exception of any De Vil. Or chicken.
Lucky and Cruella get transported inside a computer game.
Rolly becomes addicted to chewing shoes and it’s played out like a drug addiction.
Spot, a chicken, is magically turned into a dog for an episode.
There’s a three-parter where Roger and Anita find out they’re not legally married because the minister was a con artist and decide to get married for real while on their second honeymoon. The three-parter also involves Cruella in a “sexy girl on the beach” costume (with inflatable...assets) and Anita getting taken in by an alien-worshipping cult where the leader dresses like Doug Funnie.
Cruella wants an award Anita is getting so she gets plastic surgery to make herself look exactly like Anita and the whole sequence plays out like a horror movie.
Lucky thinks he murdered another character (he didn’t).
Cruella gets her “good side” separated from her from a machine invented by her mad scientist cousin and becomes its’ own entity (and the whole “good Cruella” plot was used again in 102 Dalmatians a few years later). Pumbaa also shows up.
Cruella has a niece around seven-or-eight years old who’s a tech whiz and might be even more evil than Cruella. Of course Descendants forgot her.
They had to tone Cruella down because it was a Saturday morning cartoon in the late 90s so now she’s just a corporate criminal instead of trying to skin the puppies. Some of her plans including trying to put the fire department out of business so she can install fire hydrants that require payment for usage (and all the money goes to her) and trying to tear down an elderly couple’s mom-and-pop grocery store just so she can build a private car wash on the property. She also seriously considers the idea of buying up all the Earth’s atmosphere to charge people for breathing. In the process, she ends up becoming even more evil somehow.
The show goes completely meta and has the characters talking about how the show was made in-universe during a cast party.
Spot is told that the main pups are actually aliens by a chicken who actually is an alien.
Roger and Anita throw a party to celebrate having the dogs for 101 days and Cruella crashes the party dressed like a clown.

Thinking about Trigun again and how well it does portraying an abusive sibling relationship. Though if I was Vash I would never forgive Knives, but Vash’s whole thing is kinda how he forgives regardless of what an offending party has done to him [that is a problem and he should be in therapy so i will put him in brain therapy, there is where i take him to therapy in my brain and rotate him in my mind like he is my oc.]
But like as someone who grew up with an abusive older brother, who did not necessarily know what he was doing was abusive, but hurt me badly regardless. I have a lot of feelings about it.
so iunno ramblings from a childhood sibling abuse survivor about how fucked it is the way Nai treats his brother.
In Nai’s own mind he loves Vash, cares about him and wants to protect him, but he also in a way does not see Vash as an individual that is separate from himself. He has an internalized entitlement to Vash, to his time, his thoughts, his mind and body. He wants complete ownership and control of him, because in his mind this is the only way to keep him safe, but in doing so he would erase literally everything that makes Vash who he is.
[oh this got long, under a read more to keep dash clean]
TLDR: Nai says no one is allowed to hurt my brother, except for me i get to hurt him as much as i want but its for his own good so its ok [its not its really fucking not]
Nai is so utterly convinced he knows whats best for him, how best to look after him, that he crashed an entire armada of ships, ultimately dooming them both to a horrible 150 years on a planet that cannot support them. We could also go into Nai’s fear and how that drove him, but thats for another post I think.
Nai’s plans regarding Vash always end in failure for two reasons.
1. Nai is horrifically short sighted and narrow minded, almost hilariously so.
2. He does not know Vash as well as he thinks he does, and what he does know he disregards.
Nai crashes the SEEDS ships to protect Vash and make a paradise for plants. He does not actually know at this point HOW he’s going to do that, just that he wants too. He also didn’t know the planet he crashed them all on would be horrifically ill suited to his kind, or he did, and ultimately didn’t care. He did not think that Vash would leave him. He disregarded Vash’s emotions and when Vash reacts badly he berates him, taunts him with being his accomplice. Though we the viewer know that this is patently untrue. You cannot be an accomplice to murder if you lend someone a knife to cut a cord with and they go on to use it to stab someone[Vash did not hand Nai the codes, so much as Nai saw him enter them and memorized it and then used it for his own purposes.]
Guilt tripping in order to force someone to stay by your side is kind of textbook 101 for abuse. And then he does it again, and again, and again. It never works, but he keeps doing it! He keeps trying to break Vash down into little pieces he can put back together in the shape of what he thinks his brother should be.
Nai’s plans at July fail because once again he disregards Vash’s emotions and his connections with people as insignificant. They may be twins, but they are both individual, independent plants. Vash’s relationships quite literally ground him in reality and allow him to build a place for himself in the world.
Millions Knives does not have connections with people outside of Vash. He has what I’d call Business Deals. He is not grounded in reality, he doesn’t even want to keep his feet on the ground. He wants the access to the Higher Dimension that Vash can get him. He wants to tear it open, crawl inside it and never leave, even if it means a gaping bleeding wound in his brothers soul leaking out across the planet, turning him into a literal husk of himself.
This plan of course fails, because Vash is not beholden to Nai’s views on how the world should be, and his connections with people allow him to hang on even while being literally re-written from the inside out.
I think it’s telling, at the end of the final episode, how Millions Knives claims Vash killed Nai. Even with his plan blowing up literally in his face, he has to take on last low blow at Vash, one more guilt trip for the road. “you made me like this” standard fair for an abuser.

frat star 101
a crash course on all things frat
okay so some of you might be wondering, what the fuck is a frat? well here i am, with three years of being active in the greek community (and a self-proclaimed frat RAT), here to share a bit of my knowledge.
if you have any questions that i did not answer in this post or wanna talk more in depth about my experiences, feel free to DM or send in an ask! and if any of my fellow greek life peeps see that i miswrote something or missed something in general, pls dm and ill make those changes!
Tumblr media
-> FAQs
so what’s a fraternity/sorority? the most basic explanation for this would be that they are a college organization/club. fraternities are exclusively men, sororities are exclusively women. there are co-ed fraternities, but those are more academic/degree/community service based. there are different councils of sororities/fraternities (IFC, PHC, MGC, NPHC), but in terms of this au, that doesn’t really matter.
why do people join? a multitude of reasons really: making friends, networking, philanthropy, community service, resume building, etc etc! if you take it seriously, you get a lot more out of it than a social life. personally speaking, i’ve grown a lot as a person and it has benefitted me a lot in my professional life.
what do they do?  theres a lot of things that fraternities/sororities do on campus and in their community. philanthropic events are a big one. every chapter has a different charity/organization that they support, and the means of how they raise money and support their org! its a fun way to keep the greek community connected n stuff. and they make it competitive so chapters go against each other. lots n lots of fun
they also host social events. chapters can host date night/parties, socials, & semi-formals/formals! date nights and formals are usually open to invite anyone (with reason), where as socials are chapter to chapter (i.e. lambda chi alpha and alpha delta pi). what they do at these events just depends on the chapter hosting. it can range from mini golf to a movie night. it all depends.
the only thing sororities can’t do is throw parties. it goes against NPC standards & by-laws for sorority women to throw large scale events like that in their houses. i can’t quote the exact rule but its there. fraternities on the other hand… they do whatever they want i GUESS
and then internally we have retreats for sisterhood/brotherhood building and a bunch of fucking meetings. it’s much like a business, except you pay to do it.
what’s the point?  the point is what you make it. sororities and fraternities can cater to an experience that you’re looking for. a thing i always heard as an active is you get what you put in. if you’re looking for a social life, you can get it. wanna network??? gain leadership experience?? plan events?? greek life could help you too. and greek organizations can benefit you post grad too with their alumni network. and also, you’re not limited to your own chapter, but those around you. again, its all about what you put in, and what you want to gain.
-> TERMINOLOGY*
recruitment- its a period in the semester where greek organizations can begin to accept new members. the process for sororities & fraternities differ, as sororities are much more formal and structured while fraternities are more casual and laid back. (informally known as rush/rushing)
chapter- can mean two things, depending on the context. so (1) its a way to differentiate the organizations in conversation. like for example my chapter is ABC and your chapter is XYZ. and (2) its what you refer to a specific greek organization at a specific university. so when im referring to my chapter, i’m specifically talking about sorority ABC at university DEF. confusing but again, its all in the context.
pledging- it’s the informal (and incorrect way) of referring to the new member process. officially, we don’t call it that bc of it’s negative connotations but we also still very much call it that.
pledge- its a new member in an organization, but again we don’t refer to out new members in that way bc that would be demeaning and considered hazing
greek row- refers to the street/area that greek organizations live in.
legacy- an individual who has had grandparents, parents, and/or sibling in a specific greek org.
executive board- student leaders of the organization that work to maintain order and keep up the chapter running (president, vps, secretary, etc etc). the executive board make up and positions vary from chapter to chapter.
honors/standards board- a different set of members asked to make sure that their members are upholding each individual org’s standards and bylaws. its also normally not members already serving on the executive board
dues- what you pay to be apart of the organization (varies from chapter to chapter, school to school)
big / little- it's a mentorship! getting your big bro/sis means getting a person that will guide you through your new member process and see you through to initiation (and beyond!) bigs will always be an initiated member and littles will be new members
*please note that some of these things sometimes are referred to differently on other campuses. this is just what my school uses.
-> EXTRA EXTRA
every chapter is different. . .  seriously. not all fraternities/sororities run their orgs the same. and it also differs from school to school. a certain fraternity might be the sexiest most gentlemanly men you’ve ever come across at one university and complete pigs at a another. there are a lot of similarities but when it comes down to the nitty gritty we’re all pretty different.
all experiences are different. . . my happy go lucky good time will not be the same as another. and my misery in it will also not be the same as another. the experience is different for everyone and all comes down to how an individual uses their time in their organization, and on the organization itself.
it is as cult-y as you think it is. . .  we have rituals. its different for every chapter, and to be fair i only know my own but i can say that every ritual is pretty fucking culty in their own way.
lots of secrets and lots of lore. . . there are a lot of things about greek life that goes on from chapter to chapter that we don’t speak of. it’s a sacred thing, that only initiated members of each specific organization know. you can definitely google these things but i personally think its taboo to talk about unless youre a member.
finally, let me be perfectly clear. . .
i know that there is a lot of dark shit that has happened and continues to happen in greek life, that theres a lot of work to be done even in this day & age. this au is not meant to glorify all the ugly— the hazing and any type of hatred that certain chapters may have. this is all for fun, to talk about all the good and fun that can come of it.

I know Meier celebration is closed but you can answer this as whenever you want to:
Can we get a blurb of Luca and Livs first real big fight?
Pick up the phone, Liv.
Liv stares at the blinking of her cursor in the text box. What does she say? It feels like there is nothing to say after what happened.
This morning, Liv had FaceTimed her boyfriend as they do every morning while she walks from her morning class to her afternoon one. But this morning, her boyfriend had unexpected company in the form of his ex-girlfriend, Morgan. The same ex-girlfriend that supposedly has a new boyfriend and loves Liv.
“Uh.” Liv had literally stopped walking. Someone bumped into her from behind. She is too stunned to apologize. “What is going on?”
“Oh.” Luca stands, walking to the door Morgan just walked out of with a wave and a thanks. He flips the lock. “Morgan was too drunk to drive home after the party last night, so she crashed at my place.”
“Um. I don’t think I’m okay with that.” Liv says immediately. Luca pauses, surprised.
“You don’t trust me?”
“Um. No. I do, but that doesn’t mean I am okay with that.”
“Okay I’m sorry.” Luca shrugs, looking entirely too unbothered as he walks to his fridge to grab a glass of orange juice.
“Luca.”
“What?”
“This is not okay with me.”
“Okay, babe. I hear ya. I won’t let her stay over again.”
“Wow.”
“What!?” Luca exclaims, slamming the juice on the counter. “What else do you want me to say? I’m sorry and I won’t do it again.” He is defensive. One of his nostrils starts to flare.
“You don’t even care about how I feel.”
“That is not true. I don’t see why we have to discuss this more.”
“You’re right. We don’t.”
Liv had hung up and bursted into sobs. She turned around, heading away from class towards home.
Presently, she settles on: I don’t want to talk right now.
Okay. I respect that. Please call when you’re ready. I love you 😘
It takes 34 hours before Luca sees Liv’s face pop-up on his phone screen. He is out with some teammates at a downtown bar after their win. He runs from the bar, shoving past people until he reaches the icy, winter air.
“Hey.” He is breathless, red cheeks and wild hair from the wind. Liv gives a lift of her lips in greeting. “Babe, I am so sorry.”
Liv nods.
“I… didn’t think that through.”
“No.” Liv acknowledges.
“She was really drunk and I… nothing happened. I slept on the couch.”
“I believe you.” And Liv does. But it doesn’t change the hurt she felt when Luca told her passively in the morning.
“I should have asked you.”
“No. It’s fine that you didn’t ask. It’s your place, you don’t need to ask me if it’s okay if someone stays over. It would have been nice if you told me that night though. Instead of the next morning as she was leaving.”
“I know. It looked so bad. I’m so sorry. I… feel like such a fucking idiot.” He shakes his head. “Not an excuse, but I love you so much, it never even occurred to me what it looked like. Like, I would never, ever cheat on you, so the concept of that looking sketchy didn’t connect.”
Liv nods again.
“I want us to be okay again. What can I do?”
“Communicate with me more.”
“Okay. I will. I’m out with the boys right now at this shitty bar with equally shitty live music.” Luca chuckles.
“That seems a lot more fun than economics.” Liv holds up her book for him.
“Oh! You need help?!” He asks excitedly. This is the area of his major after all.
“No. You’ll get too in depth and confuse me. This is Economics 101, baby.”
“Probably true.”
“Thank you for my flowers.” Liv says, showing him the gorgeous bouquets of roses, lillies, and other flowers Luca isn’t sure of. It was over $300 though, so he felt like that was expensive enough for his sincere apology.
“You like ‘em?”
“Yeah.”
“They’ll have to do until I get to you next month.” Luca kicks at a chunk of ice on the sidewalk. “I really miss you, Liv.” Luca’s brown eyes meet her blue ones. She smiles at him and his chest grows warm.
“Only 41 days and 1 hour until I see you.”
“985 hours.” Luca sighs. His cold breath swirls about his face.
“Yeah… In the meantime, go back inside before you get sick.”
“We are good?”
“The best.”
“Love you, pretty girl.”
“Love you too.”

“I hear you’re making a movie about a fish,” the cinematographer Bill Butler said to the young director Steven Spielberg when they bumped into each other on the Universal lot in 1974. Butler, then in his early 50s, had already shot two projects for Spielberg – the TV movie Something Evil (1972) and Savage (1973), a pilot that was not taken up as a series. But it was their collaboration on the “fish movie” that cemented their reputations.
Summer was not previously regarded as an optimum time to release a big studio picture, which is why Jaws (1975), which flooded screens across the US rather than trickling out in stages, is considered the first summer blockbuster – though its finesse and skill, not to mention an intimate second half in which the cast dwindles to three men and a largely unseen shark, give it little in common with the sort of crash-bang-wallop productions that followed in its wake.
It remains one of the finest slow-burning suspense movies outside Hitchcock in his heyday, due in no small part to the cinematography by Butler, who has died aged 101. The production was besieged with difficulties but in 2003 Spielberg called him “the calm before, during and after every storm on the set of Jaws”.
Butler shot about 90% of the ocean scenes with a handheld Panaflex camera for greater flexibility and immediacy. Borrowing a trick he had picked up while shooting second unit on the thriller Deliverance (1972), he also made a transparent box into which the camera was placed to allow for shooting at water level. The effect, he explained, was dramatic and instantaneous. “The big advantage is that psychologically you’re asking: ‘What’s right below the water? Is that shark right there?’” Shots of the thrashing legs of oblivious swimmers “made the audience think: ‘That must look good to a shark. It looks like dinner time.’”
Jaws was one of two best picture Oscar nominees that year in which Butler had a hand, the other being Miloš Forman’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, the eventual winner, based on Ken Kesey’s novel about patients in a psychiatric hospital. Butler was Oscar-nominated for Forman’s film along with Haskell Wexler, who had shot the lion’s share of the footage before being sacked. It was a stormy set, with the actor Jack Nicholson refusing to speak to the director and communicating instead with Wexler and then Butler, who reportedly shot everything from the climactic party scene onwards. A year earlier he had replaced Wexler on Francis Ford Coppola’s brooding surveillance thriller The Conversation (1974).
After Jaws, Butler’s biggest commercial successes were the musical Grease (1978) as well as three consecutive sequels to Sylvester Stallone’s 1976 boxing drama Rocky, beginning with Rocky II (1979). Butler brought a special vitality to the fight scenes in the series, occasionally shooting with as many as eight cameras simultaneously. “As carefully as we planned, there were times when we expected to pan left and something unexpected happened, and we needed to go to the right or zoom instead,” he said. “When an actor slipped, we caught the expression of surprise on his face.”
Some projects even he couldn’t save. Can’t Stop the Music (1980), a vehicle for the disco group the Village People, was a flop that later acquired a cult following. That honour eluded another musical, Graffiti Bridge (1990), starring and directed by Prince. It was shot by Butler, once again serving as an 11th-hour replacement, at the singer’s Paisley Park studios near Minneapolis.
Butler was born in Cripple Creek, Colorado, to Wilmer, a farmer, and Verca, a psychiatric nurse. The family moved to Henry county, Georgia, when he was five, then on to Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He was educated at Mount Pleasant high school and received a degree in engineering from the University of Iowa, where he became fascinated with cameras. He worked for four years as a radio station engineer while also setting up a television station that was later sold to ABC.
Next he got a job at the Chicago-based WGN-TV, where he met the director William Friedkin. Their documentary The People Vs Paul Crump (1962), about an African American man on death row, was screened for Otto Kerner, the governor of Illinois, in rough-cut form the night before Crump was due to be executed. Examining the evidence presented in the film, Kerner changed the sentence to life without parole. “I remember thinking: ‘My God, film has this kind of power?’” said Butler. “That little 16mm film saved someone’s life.”
For Philip Kaufman, Butler shot Fearless Frank (1967), starring Jon Voight as a man who is killed then resurrected as a superhero crime-fighter. He collaborated for the first time with Coppola on the director’s road movie The Rain People (1969), then shot Nicholson’s directorial debut, Drive, He Said (1971).
Among his later credits are the baseball comedy-drama The Bingo Long Travelling All-Stars & Motor Kings, the rape revenge thriller Lipstick (both 1976), Demon Seed, in which Julie Christie is impregnated by a malevolent computer, the conspiracy thriller Capricorn One (both 1977), the horror sequel Damien: Omen II (1978) and two military comedies, Stripes (1981) and Biloxi Blues (1988).
Butler was lauded for his television work: he won an Emmy each for Raid on Entebbe (1976), based on a real-life hostage rescue mission in Uganda, and an adaptation of A Streetcar Named Desire (1984) starring Ann-Margret as Blanche DuBois. He was nominated for another for shooting the steamy mini-series The Thorn Birds (1983).
In 1997 he shot a pair of films that echoed his past glories: the monster movie Anaconda owed more than a little to Jaws, while Don King: Only in America, made for TV, utilised his expertise in rendering ring-craft. For the latter, Butler built a box camera that the actor Danny Johnson, who played the world heavyweight champion Larry Holmes, could physically attack. Johnson “pulverised the lens”, said the director, John Herzfeld. “He literally beat it to shit. You’re completely in a subjective point of view.”
Butler maintained that the 1970s were the “perfect time” for him to make his name. “It was a merging of a lot of film styles that up until then had been very staid, very straightforward. There were certain rules you didn’t break, except I was one of those people that came to break all the rules.”
He is survived by his second wife, Iris (nee Schwimmer), their children, Genevieve and Chelsea, and three daughters, Judy, Patricia and Pam, from his first marriage, to Alma (nee Smith), which ended in divorce in 1983.

I absolutely love your fic Friend of Mine, I love all your other fics too but this one is sooo relatable to me and so sweet and pure, I’m just floored and affected every time I read it. I was wondering if you could recommend similar fics or fics that inspired you to write this (if any). I’m looking for fics where they begin as friends, that’s simple and not too soap-y (if you get what I mean?) they don’t even have to be in the hs realm. I’m sure there’s a prev rec list for this too. Thank u!
it's been ages since you sent this, so you probably don't even remember sending me this. but :D I'm happy that you enjoyed "Friend of Mine"! The song inspired me, so I don't think I used any other fics for reference.
and I don't think I've made a list like this before!

the Pokémon Conquest Crash Course: the Headcanons
alright so here's the nitty gritty on how we made conquest make any remote amount of sense. Why is god here? Why do legendaries just magically pop up? Why is Ransei named shitsfuckedville? All will be explained!
Basic history:
For one reason or another, Arceus created Ransei* as a part of a Higher Plane(TM), a bridge between earth and "the heavens". Probably because a lot of legendaries are very physical and that doesn't super mesh well with the whole transcendent heavenly being concept, so there needs to be a transitional space.
*Ransei is not called that yet.
There are people on it! They have cool powers! They're, like, somewhere between pokemon and human. They're human, but they can communicate with pokemon, they evolve like pokemon, all that cool stuff. Arceus even has a human they're buddies with! They're in charge. :)
Oh no, the people are fighting! Arceus' bestie dies! Arceus is pissed off by this, so they kick this little continent out, says fuck you guys then if you want to fight then you're gonna fight forever and I'm only letting you come back if it fucking stops. Downside: they're still weird and liminal, so they're also, like.... not quite on Earth? Well, they are, but time is... weird here. They kinda exist at every time? Sorta? Also, they're called Ransei now.
This is also why legendaries can just kinda.... pop up whenever.
Flash forward a few - hundred? Thousand? Honestly, we don't know - years. So now there's this new human that Arceus thinks is neat. But Ransei is still, yknow, bad, so they can't hang out. :( They give this new human some encouragement, but a rules are rules. No helping until Ransei isn't fighting anymore!
(This human is Hiroko.)
Uh, so, Warriors?
Warriors are kinda like psychics. And also kinda like Aura Guardians in the anime. And also kind of not comparable to anything else. Linking is a sort of metaphysical bond between a human and pokemon, in a way that fundamentally alters both of them. The stronger it is, the bigger the changes.
(Note that I forgot in the canon bit: not everyone in Ransei has the capability to link with pokemon. Only those that do are called warriors.)
Warriors can only link with so many pokemon (that part is canon) as it can be strenuous to have a lot at once. The stronger a link is, the harder it is to separate a pokemon and warrior. Putting a great deal of distance between them or certain artifical barriers, like pokeballs, can cause mental and physical damage to both parties. Do not separate them!
anything else?
Nothing important. There's a lot of smaller lore and politics and what have you that we've developed over the years, but this is Ransei 101. None of that matters right now.
