Maximize Your Estate Sale with Professional Liquidators | Tips for Downsizing Homeowners
Some individuals unknowingly sell valuable items at a loss when downsizing or managing an estate. Estate liquidators can assist with pricing, marketing, and selling, but it's crucial to vet them carefully. Prepare by organizing, researching values...
Someone pays $10 for $2,000 worth of gold coins and $30 for a $3,000 1960’s Gibson acoustic guitar.   These are extreme examples, but some homeowners sell their family estate items at big losses because they didn’t know the values of those items.  Also, some coffee mugs sell for $100 and vintage bottle caps sell for $20 each. If you are downsizing and have time, then you may research sale…

Recent HIPAA Right of Access Settlements Highlight Ongoing Enforcement Efforts
SNFs this one is for you! Yesterday’s post on billing fraud was too. It almost feels as if this second week of April has a compliance theme while last week, the focus was on CMS Proposed Rules. Assuredly, Wednesday will bring some different news as March CPI data drops. This news came last week via the Office of Civil Rights which oversees HIPAA related complaints. It pertains to two important…

I'm not explaining why re-imagining characters as POC is not the same as white-washing, here of all places should fucking understand.
#personal#delete later#no patrick. “black washing” is not as harmful as white washing.#come on guys get it together#seeing people in my reblogs talk about “reverse racism” and double standards is genuinely hypocrisy#say it with me: white washing is intrinsically tied to a historical and systematic erasure of poc figures literature and history.#it is an inherently destructive act that deplatforms underrepresented faces and voices#in favor of a light-skinned aesthetic hegemony#redesigning characters as poc is an act of dismantling symbols of whiteness in fiction in favor of diversification and reclamation#(note that i am talking about individual acts by individual artists as was the topic of this discourse. not on an industry-scale)#redesigning characters as poc is not tied to hundreds of years of systemic racism and abuse and power dynamics. that is a fact.#you are not replacing an underrepresented person with an oft-represented person. it is the opposite#if you feel threatened or upset or uncomfortable about this then sorry but you are not aware of how much more worse it is for poc#if representation is unequal then these acts cannot be equivalent. you can't point to an imbalanced scale and say they weigh the same#if you recognize that bipoc people are minorities then you should recognize that these two things are not the same#while i agree that “black washing” can lead to color-blind casting and writing the behavior here is on an individual level#a black artist drawing their favorite anime character as black because they feel a shared solidarity is not a threat to you#i mean. most anime characters are east asian and i as an east asian person certainly don't feel threatened or erased. neither should you.#there's much to be said about the politics of blackwashing (i don't even know if that's the right word for it)#but point standing. whitewashing is an inherently more destructive act. both through its history of maintaining power dynamics#and the simple fact that it's taking away from groups of people who have less to begin with#if you feel upset or uncomfortable about a fictional white character being redesigned as poc by an artist on twitter#i sincerely hope you're able to explore these feelings and find avenues to empathizing with poc who have had their figures#(both real and fictional) erased; buried; and replaced by white figures for hundreds of years#i sincerely hope you can understand the difference in motivations and connotations behind whitewashing and blackwashing#classic bixels “i'm not talking about this chat. i'm not” (puts my media studies major to use in the tags and talks the fuck outta it)

Soooo Hanahaki disease am i right?
Part 2 Part 3
Luckily the guys arent in as immidiate danger as y/n because they can just open up their insides and get all that stuff out before it gets too bad... they could also just try to get over y/n but they would never do that
And y/n is just having a time being helplessly in love with their animatronic coworkers, too afraid to confess and too stubborn to forget about them
White clover and forget-me-nots if anyone is interested

I'm gonna go ahead and tap the sign that says "blocking accounts of people that make you angry is a much better approach to social media than, say, pretending that those people speak for any kind of larger group."

Controversial? opinion but I actually really like Astarion's chaste little kiss, because it isn't a performance. It isn't at all the way he would've kissed you in Act 1. And yeah it doesn't have lingering touches like Karlach's kiss animation or extreme passion like Halsin's, but it feels true for him. It feels real.
It's quick and sweet, maybe a little uncomfortable or uncertain. He approaches Tav and takes the lead, which I love, but he's still figuring this all out. It's so new. He's in the process of defining his boundaries, what he wants and needs physically+emotionally in a relationship. The kiss is intimate but there's space too, and that's okay.

winter assassin outfit
#zeno's art#ocs#reassassination#octavia krankenstein#oh i got a LOT to say about this one#in the comic octavia starts wearing this outfit after a certain event i think n its very symbolic#it represents mainly how her personality has changed as well as her relationship with kranken and humanity as a whole#lets do it top to bottom. FIRSTLY the mask that replaces her goggles that she wore in the “summer” outfit#the mask represents several things. firstly that octavia's relationship with kranken improved#i think the mask itself is probably kranken's and octavia uses it. showing that they've become closer#and ALSO even using a mask to hide her identity while working is in line with kranken's ideas of clothing being practical rather than flashy#(see her first outfit was originally really frumpy and practical before she DIY'd it into the minidress type thing)#anyway. the hoodie is supposed to harken more to an executioner showing octavia is more used to her job#the hoodie has eyelets which are circles. the fact that there are way more circles in the design shows that she becomes less cold#and more assimilated into human society#the gloves however are a sign of her persistent rebellion as they're fingerless and impractical lol#the pants are based off of tripp nyc's design. which was popular with mallgoths in the 90s/00s#it shows octavia's own personality and interests and of course has two hidden sets of 6's through the eyelets#lastly her shoes resemble skulls. that one's just for fun#while her first outfit completely represented rebellion i like to think this one bridges the gap between rebellion and octavia settling down#and becoming more familiar with those around her#this is only the first pass so i'll prob incorporate more red into the outfit before it's finalised#octavia isn't the only one who changes either! i want like ~3 changes for almost everyone

you know. just like with specific terms and nicknames like clanker or shinie, clones must've come up with unique meanings for their armor paint. like with different meanings assigned to colors of mandalorian armor except since the choice of color is out of their control, all the importance lies in shapes and placement

While I'm on my disruptive Tolkien opinions kick:
Yes, obviously, he was a conservative Catholic and this was really important to his understanding of the world and pervades his work and so on and so forth.
But I'm a bit "..." about reducing everything he thought and felt about the world to that. Like, yeah, there's a tradition of conservative pastoralism that meant the context of his environmental opinions was not inherently progressive in the way it can mistakenly seem in 2024. Do I think he was Like That about trees because of conservative pastoralism, or his Catholicism, or that the particular form taken by his TREES TREES TREES #OLDMANWILLOWDIDNOTHINGWRONG TREEEEEEEEES ethos much resembles most of his contemporaries' feelings?
Not really.
I mean, he would never have said it, but I kind of doubt whether his very sincere and deeply felt veneration of the actual figures of his religion was truly comparable to how he felt about things like That One Oak on the Corner That I Liked Got Chopped Down by Evildoers. I've read other conservative British writers of this era who have their own forms of pastoralism and most of them are way less intense about it. I truly don't think Tolkien loved trees the way he did Because Catholicism or whatnot. I genuinely think he just really loved trees.
Basically, I can imagine some alternate universe in which alternate Tolkien ends up with really different beliefs about religion, about politics, about all sorts of things. But I can absolutely not imagine a universe in which any version of Tolkien did not take the part of trees against all their enemies.

love lies bleeding indeed causes a fucking visceral reaction. it was disgusting in such a sexy way. it felt like if john waters movies were played as genuine horror, or if Bound by the wachowski sisters was even greasier and sweatier. it’s. it’s the type of lesbian media i’ve been fuckin needing!!! just unsanitized and gnc and hot and human. i loved how much the visuals focused on messy queer masculinity and the grittiness and terror of western american culture. it was sensorily intense and emotional and loving and sickening and hot and so gooooood !!!!!!
