(1/2) Edgeworth meets Wright for the first time (Narumitsu Story Contest AU)
Intro (???) post
I was lazy to draw so the most detailed painting in the comic is actually "Summer" by Jacopo Tintoretto. Here is the unedited painting:
Tumblr media
[Transcript]
The descriptions how the characters look are in the Intro post.
The comic is mostly monochrome in black and white, with slight color variation due to a filter.
Page 1:
Edgeworth stands in the middle of a path, surrounded by stalls and vendors, with a few people around. He's sweating, nervous, thinking: "It is so over. I am finished." He is lacking his red sweater.
He is sweating even more. "The previous person gave me such a look, I felt as if I insulted their family honor to death," he thinks, embarrassed.
"No matter who I asked, they all refused. Quite rudely as well!" he thinks as he rubs his hand, which is also sweaty, over his face as he grows more and more embarrassed.
He drags his palm to his chin, pulling his exasperated face down, thinking "I've embarrassed myself to no end and all that is left for me is to crawl into a pit and-" his thoughts get cut off.
Page 2:
He is startled by another art stall. It is highlighted in his vision. "Another..." he thinks as he observes it.
He grips a piece of paper that is slightly crumpled with his left hand.
With a determined but still nervous expression, he starts heading towards the stall. "One more time! One more time and that's it..!"
He leans down to a board with artworks to take a look. His right hand holds his chin in thought as his other goes behind his back. As he observes, he notes: "Hmm... Not exactly what I am looking for, but they are very skilled."
A shadowy figure with big round eyes is sneaking next to him, while he is thinking, "Not that I can afford finding a perfect candidate at this point-" His thoughts get interrupted.
A young girl, Trucy Wright, appears from his right, startling him. His eyes widen in shock. "See something you like, mister?" she asks cheerfully, smiling widely as she leans in with her hands behind her back. Instead of her wearing her jacket, it is tied around her hips.
Page 3:
She shines brightly in front of the board as she excitedly asks Edgeworth, "Well? Well?" but he pulls back in surprise with a "Nghoooooh!" while thinking, "This child... She cannot be...!"
Trucy seems to pull a sketch of a street out of nowhere, surrounded by sparkles, exclaiming "Beautiful sketches!"
"Compelling illustrations!" she keeps going, keeps sparkling, now showing a drawing of a phoenix flying.
"Some small and practical!" now she has two framed drawing in her hand, the one in front, being of a furry animal, hiding the one behind it.
"But the best," she now holds her one viewer in suspension as she speaks, holding a huge framed artwork barely fitting in her arms yet unrevealed, "of all..."
Page 4:
She reveals the artwork, all sparkly again, with its title: "A Perfectly Done Assignment Where the Professor still Took 15 Points off for No Reason." The painting is of a woman laying down, covering her head with her right arm and with the other gripping a cloth underneath her.
Edgeworth is amazed, gazing at her in surprise, as he thinks, "Remarkable...! A child with such skill..."
And then his thoughts continue, his mood back to being exasperated, "But I cannot pick a little girl as a work partner! I'm not sure that minors can even be considered as contestants... Ngh... I am done for..." A voice Edgeworth does not recognize speaks, "Hey, that's not the title, you know! ... True, though."
Page 5:
A zoom-in of Edgeworth's eye, wide in surprise and shining as he notices the speaker.
The mysterious speaker reveals himself, being Phoenix Wright, winking and smiling, holding a plastic bag with two wrapped burgers in it. His top is unzipped revealing a shirt that's underneath, he has no scarf and his sleeves are slightly pulled up. One hand is on his hip, standing confidently, saying "Go easy on the customers, Truce. They'll say if they want something!" He is surrounded by shoujo manga style sparkles around him.
[End transcript]
If you've read the transcript and feel like it is unfulfilling and lacking in some way, please point it out to me. English is my second language and I realize I'm lacking in that manner, and I greatly appreciate corrections!

#SamuraiSkirts #MOBA
Tumblr media
Expanding on the gameplay of SamuraiSkirts, a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game, involves a deep dive into its mechanics, world-building, and strategic nuances. Here's a more detailed exploration:
Game World and Lore
Setting:
SamuraiSkirts takes place across a multiverse of arenas inspired by historical and fantastical Asian cultures. Players battle in environments like:
The Ghost Town Shinto Shrine (a haunted ruin of ancient Japan).
The Crystal Pagoda (a floating battleground filled with fragile crystal pathways).
The Midnight Sakura Gardens (a maze of blossoming trees and hidden ambush points).
Each map introduces unique hazards—e.g., the shrine’s crumbling floors or the garden’s stealth-friendly foliage.
Faction Lore:
Players align with factions like the Four Winds (Fire, Water, Earth, Air) or Mythical Blades Guild, influencing their abilities and unlocking special items tied to their chosen faction.
Gameplay Mechanics
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Battle Doll Classes:
Each Battle Doll belongs to one of six main classes, each with strengths, weaknesses, and customization options:
Samurai: Fast, dual-wielding warriors with devastating mobility-based attacks.
Cleric: Healers and support units capable of boosting allies and disrupting enemies.
Mage: Ranged attackers with high-damage spells and area control.
Assassin: Stealthy, high-damage characters who excel at surprise attacks.
Tank: Durable front-liners with crowd control and shield-based defenses.
Round Class: Versatile fighters who adapt to melee, ranged, and mid-range combat.
Customization:
Players equip their Battle Dolls with DressBlades (like Bebe’s Blade of Fire), Battle Accessories, and DressSpheres to enhance stats and unlock unique abilities.
Cosmetic options (e.g., skins, voice packs, emotes) personalize each doll.
Combat Features:
Lane Strategy: Teams are divided into lanes (top, mid, bot) and jungle zones, requiring coordination to control resources and objectives.
Dynamic Objectives: Maps include objectives like:
Capturing ancient shrines to summon a temporary ally.
Securing "wind gates" that provide mobility buffs.
Skill Combos: Each class has skill chains that can be combined with allies’ abilities for powerful effects (e.g., a Mage freezing enemies while a Samurai delivers a finishing blow).
Progression and Strategy
Leveling Up:
Players earn XP by defeating enemy dolls, minions, and completing objectives.
Each match allows for in-game skill tree progression, letting players adapt their playstyle mid-battle.
Item Economy:
Collect Elemental Shards and Mythic Coins during matches to purchase gear upgrades and potions.
Specialized items, like Sacred Wards or Blade Enhancers, can turn the tide of battle.
Team Coordination:
Victory depends on team synergy:
Tanks initiate fights, absorbing damage.
Assassins flank enemy backlines.
Clerics maintain healing zones and buffs.
Unique Gameplay Features
Summons and Champions:
Players can summon legendary NPCs or creatures from the game’s lore, like Phoenix of Fire or Koi Dragon of Water.
Summons temporarily shift the battlefield dynamics, forcing enemies to adapt.
Dynamic Weather:
Certain maps have real-time weather effects that impact gameplay:
Rain reduces visibility and boosts water-based attacks.
Windstorms scatter projectiles and open secret pathways.
Replay Mode:
A cinematic replay system allows players to review their matches with customizable camera angles and editing tools for content creation.
Expanded Example Match
The team of Skitts continues in their queue. After their first victory, they are matched against another team of equal skill. The match begins in the Crystal Pagoda.
Opening Strategy:
Bebe's Sakura Blade Asterid takes the mid-lane to face an enemy Mage.
Nikkia Belle’s Round Class moves to the top lane with TVD’s Samurai to apply pressure.
Chloe's Cleric and IshiiORen2.0 support the bot lane, securing early objectives.
Mid-Game Chaos:
The enemy team activates a Wind Gate, enabling their Assassin to leap between lanes and ambush Nikkia.
Bebe counteracts by using her Fire Wave Ultimate, dealing massive damage and forcing a retreat.
Climactic Finish:
With both teams neck-and-neck, the Phoenix of Fire objective spawns.
Bebe’s team fights off waves of minions while IshiiORen2.0 heals the squad.
The final blow is landed by Bebe’s DressBlade, unleashing a fiery explosion that wins them the match.
SamuraiSkirts seamlessly blends strategy, customization, and lore to create a rich MOBA experience. What other features or expansions would you like to explore? Perhaps a story mode or eSports potential?

The TF2 Mercenaries in D&D
(for @tf2heritageposts)
So I'm in a smash bros. inspired campaign that revolves around throwing characters from disparate video games together and seeing what happens. But that's where all of these sheets come from, and it's why all of their sheets are currently at level 9, which affects their amount of available feats.
To start with: homebrew! Don't worry, it's not a lot. It's just a little bit for custom firearms, actually. Specifically it's The Greasemonkey's Handbook, a glorious supplement that I recommend to everyone who will listen, but alas we are not here for giant mechs today, just a couple of guns! I'll point them out whenever necessary, but this is a general overview of their builds, just to save time.
All of them start as Variant Humans so they can have the Gunner feat from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, and I think I gave all of them except Spy the Mercenary Veteran background. Spy gets, well. Spy.
Scout: Swashbuckler Rogue with the mobile feat, 5e has no finesse weapons that deal bludgeoning outside of one (1) setting specific ball, so he has a bat (regular club) but you'd be better off flavoring something like the three-rune blade as a dagger or shortsword. Custom gun from Greasemonkey's, to represent his Scattergun, is a Shotgun with the Lightened Frame modification.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I went with Swashbuckler because it is THE annoying little shit subclass. Run in, hit things, taunt your opponent, and run out before they can do anything about it. That's the Boston Bitchboy alright. And the Sneak Attack damage means when he does hit ya, he hits ya where it hurts.
Soldier: Oath of Glory Paladin. This does not mean he has good mental stats. He is not an optimized Oath of Glory Paladin. In fact the only reason his Charisma is a 10 is because I needed him to be able to cast some spells and have an Intimidation modifier that wasn't complete ass. I do however feel obligated to tell you he has an Intelligence of 7 and a Wisdom of 5. He also has a custom Greasemonkey's weapon and. well. it's the rocket launcher.
Tumblr media
As for making him a Paladin to begin with: the auras and support spells are used to mimic the effects of the banners! Because I love support soldier and think he doesn't get enough love. Pyro: Phoenix Sorcerer. I know it's a UA. But. I mean. Come on. Fire spells. Fire subclass. Sometimes it's not that deep, you know? The unauthorized fucking thing does get a Greasemonkey's weapon though. You get three guesses as to what it is and the first two don't count.
Tumblr media
Demoman: Ok now we're getting into one of the more interesting ones. Demo stumped me for a while because there's equal claim to build around either explosions or haunted sword. In the end, I went with a mixture of the two, 3 levels in Hexblade Warlock, 6 levels in Draconic Soul Sorcerer, which gives him the ability to go wild on fire spells similar to Pyro, but also granting him a solid HP boost. And of course the Hexblade stuff is for the good ol' Eyelander. If at any point Legendary tier items become available in this campaign you bet your ass I'm getting him a Vorpal Sword. No custom weapon though! Grenades already exist in 5e :)
Heavy: You know his ass has to be a Barbarian with the Tough feat for as much HP as possible, but I decided to not go with Totem Warrior. If you're building your own, the Bear Spirit is certainly a valid choice, but I decided to go with Zealot Barbarian instead, which is the subclass themed around being God's Specialest Little Warrior That's Not Allowed To Die. You may be able to guess where that's going. His custom Greasemonkey's weapon is also predictable: Heavy Machine Gun with the Drum Magazine modification. I also considered the Weighted Frame mod, but because I built him with middling dex (it's not optimal for his subclass, no, but I didn't want to make Heavy feel like he was dodging things left and right) it would've made his to-hit modifier even worse. Still, worth bringing up! And of course, I can't go without mentioning the fact he uses the most expensive (and deadly) ammo
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It should be noted this server allows for very lenient flavoring, so for melee I use a greatclub but it's flavored as regular punches, so he can still do decent damage with it being on-theme
Engineer: Probably the most predictable Artificer in the world, especially when there's a subclass literally themed around having your own funny turret (Artillerist). He also uses a Shotgun, with no mods this time, and has a whole lot of damage spells he is very much not afraid to use. It should be noted that the Artillerist can actually make their turret do damage or support, which works very well for flavoring either a Sentry or a Dispenser, and Artificers get access to spells like Blink and Vortext Warp which can work for Teleporter shenanigans if you want to get real sillay with it. He uses one of his Infusions for Replicate Magic Item: Prosthesis, to account for the Gunslinger hand. I also gave him War Caster so it's easier for him to hold concentration on his spells.
Medic: Life Cleric, but in the most fucked up way possible. The way I like to describe it is that through a chain of theological loopholes he has become his own god and thus fuels his spells through believing in himself. This is why Heavy's build is Zealot over Totem, he's God's Specialest Little Test Subject! Also has War Caster, but uses it for concentration support spells this time.
Sniper: Ohhh, here's a fun one. I'm just gonna send you the gun first for some context:
Tumblr media
All of the mods on this thing increase range values, except for one which gives it a +1 to attack rolls. I'm running low on images and that one's easy to describe lol. As for his build: 3 levels in Assassin Rogue/6 levels in Battle Master Fighter, and alongside the baseline Gunner feat, he also has the Sharpshooter feat (any dnd vets probably just shuddered). Why do I think his build is so fun? Let me tell you what Sharpshooter does.
Tumblr media
+10 flat damage. ok. that's a lot. but the -5 penalty makes it hard to pull off, right? Well. Sniper here has maxed out Dex, and is proficient in firearms, so at level 9 his modifier to hit is a +8. Then, he has the Archery fighting style, which adds a +2 to all ranged weapons, despite the name, which makes it a +10. And then the weapon mod makes it +11. so even with the -5 penalty, it's still a +6 to hit. And remember those Rogue levels? Assassin Rogues get this fun feature where they have advantage on all attack rolls made against creatures who haven't acted yet in combat. And Battle Master has a maneuver that lets you add your superiority die to your initiative roll. And remember he has maxed Dex. And he has enough Fighter levels to Action Surge on that first turn if he does go early enough in Initiative. While having Extra Attack. And you can use the Sharpshooter feat on all of those rolls. I have made a monster. And I do not regret it. (Because outside of that my man is SQUISHYYYYYYYY)
Spy: Rounding out the builds with one that's exactly what it says on the tin: Assassin Rogue, but as a full build this time. Mixture of combat abilities revolving around ambushes and utility features revolving around stealth and infiltration, it's perfect! It's also fun to me that Scout and Spy both get to be full Rogues :> He also gets a custom gun: A revolver with the snub-nosed barrel mod, which gives it the concealed tag and a bonus to any checks to hide the weapon at the cost of reducing its damage die. I like to flavor it as the Enforcer. If you want more detailed breakdowns of any of their sheets I can go more in-depth, I just wanted to give an overview first!

Who is your favorite marvel comic villain that you wish would show up more? I personally think selene :)
I HATE Omega Red- never have been a fan and don’t understand his popularity.
I love Selene, but you really need a solid writer for…same with Mojo and Spiral…
Love Cassandra Nova and The Shadow King!
LOVE most versions of the Hellfire Club, except for Kade Kilgore and Co…
I like Belasco and wish they used him more!
I do enjoy the “Purifiers”, “Brotherhood of Humanity”, and “Reavers”… they fulfill pretty basic storylines.
Don’t care for Orphanmaker and Nanny, Trevor Fitzroy, or Fabian Cortez.
Apocalypse is okay- never been a major favorite.
I LOVE the Brood and whatever aliens were featured after “a Love Story” with Storm and Forge.
I actually really liked evil Rogue and the Brotherhood in general. (Mystique and Destiny are my hardcore favorite villains!)
Everyone loves Magneto- even though he’s overused.
Juggernaut is fine- not my favorite but his storylines are fine- his relationship with Black Tom is kind of what seals it for me.
I LOVE evil psychopathic Sabertooth…but the comics kind of ruined his character.
Never really got into Deathbird, D’Ken, or the Shi’ar- they’re fine but it’s not something I get excited for…
Everyone loves Mister Sinister- honestly I wish they would bring back Liu’s version of Miss Sinister because she was great.
Weirdly not a fan of Exodus, despite being a fan of telekinesis….
Lady Deathstrike is fine- again, not my favorite but I do enjoy her.
I DO miss evil Emma- I liked her heel change but they have never been able to find a character to fill that space ☹️
I do guiltily LOVE Empath… I know he’s creepy and problematic but he IS a great villain when written as a psychopath.
Kind of miss Mastermind- Regan isn’t as fun as the original.
Everyone LOVES Sauron!
I DO weirdly love Arcade and Miss Locke…but like Sabertooth, they kind of ruined the character by trying to “update” him and make him “cool” 😒
Love Emplate and wish he appeared more!
Silver Samurai is ALWAYS fun!
Miss evil Daken despite again, being problematic. Now Akihiro is just boring because writers don’t know what to do with him.
Kimura was fun but got old fast (wish KYOST had developed her more!)
Never cared for Bastion. Nimrod is fine but again kind of a “one trick pony”.
I do really like Bella Donna.
Trask and Cameron Hodge were fun.
Hate Danger- just never got into it.
Don’t like Sugarman. Dark Beast is okay.
I LOVE Fernis and wish they popped up more!
LOVE Madelyn!! One of the most complex villains created and I wish she showed up more!
Really liked Graydon (guess that fits in with FoH but…) and wish we saw more Sabertooth illegitimate kids (you just KNOW there’s more!)
Weirdly love Masque because it’s such a dark character!
Mesmero and Mikhail Rasputin were fun!
I really miss evil QQ (was better as a villain)
Honestly think Fantomex should have been a villain/ assassin!
Love S'ym and N'astirh!
Never got into Onslaught or Proteus.
Love Sat-Yr-9.
I think everyone liked Senator Kelly as a “normal villain”.
Like Dark Phoenix but it’s been used to Death!!
I really loved Sublime- I don’t know why…probably the scene where he calls out Emma’s nose job.
Pretty much EVERYONE hated Vargas, Romulus, and Vulcan…
Wendigos are always fun!
X-Cutioner was interesting.
Have always been pretty “meh” on Children of the Vault.
Villain’s that I wish would show up more:
Orphans of X (although that plot point was settled, I would like to see Laura fighting old Facility customers again!)
Kingmaker
Predator X
Bellona- most interesting X-23 clone, because she is morally ambiguous!
The Krakoan (duh!!)
*I limited this to “X-Men Villans” because otherwise it would have taken FOREVER!

TH Characters and Crochet
TH Masterlist
This concept was prompted by my new hobby and led to some very interesting (and, in my opinion, good) plot points. Henceforth, I might turn some of these wee ideas into full-fledged one-shots. For now, though, enjoy!
Tag List: @potter-solomons @buttercupsandboys @zablife @mollybegger-blog @liliac-dreamer @vir-tual @rose-like-the-phoenix @babaohhhriley @solomons-finest-rum @hoodeddreams13 @moral-terpitude @onlydeadcells @hecatemoon87 @wandawiccan60 @dreamlandcreations
Tommy Conlon
Tumblr media
The art of crochet is an absolute mystery to him. Nevertheless, though he won’t admit it plainly since he’s been raised and trained to keep his emotions in check, he absolutely loves and adores the husky you made him.
It had been another fretful night, one that leaves you alone in the bed and him either wandering about the beach nearby or leads to a night of training at the boxing school. Either way, Tommy shut you out yet again, refusing to show you even a glimpse of the chaos he carries with him.
Later that day, the short night was followed by an equally as plagued nap. It's that he woke up before it was too late, but otherwise he'd have fallen off of the sofa and face planted into the soft carpet (which you had bought after the one time that actually did happen). Now, it’s his snuggle buddy and you’ve noticed it’s helped with the nightmares caused by his PTSD. So nowadays the silence when you come home after work is laced by soft snoring, an oddly comforting sound that stems from the most heartwarming sight.
Tommy, tightly holding on to his husky as he snuggles it. His ear phones are connected to his laptop, an ASMR video with rain sounds displayed on the screen.
Perfectly content.
At rest.
Alfie Solomons
Tumblr media
You were already magical in his eyes, but the fact you can create stuff out of yarn makes you even more so. He still thinks your hooks look uncannily like embalming tools, but he adores the scarf you made him. He wears it whenever he can, loving the texture as well as your scent.
Alfie proudly promotes your stuff wherever he goes and helps you set up at markets. He’d like for you to do only markets in Margate and Camden so he can keep a close eye on you. However, should it be anywhere else, rest assured he’ll hang around the area and make sure you eat and drink properly. He’ll literally pop by a Prêt-A-Manger to buy lunch and deliver it to you or, as is more often the case, pull you away from your stall so you two can sit down in a coffee shop or restaurant together.
He loves it whenever you text him to provide him with photos of a new project you completed. Lastly, Alfie also always asks what you’re working on.
Forrest Bondurant
Tumblr media
He’s actually the one who taught you how to crochet (and secretly adored how shyly you asked him to teach you). He’s a stern teacher, but a good one. Forrest is a man of many hidden talents (like baking, he makes a mean apple pie). Then again, so is his brother Howard, who is great at knitting. Jack, on the other hand, has skipped out on the creative gene though he’s been trying to teach himself how to sew.
Forrest and you do markets together. However, he mostly does the general set-up while you busy yourself with the customers. Because even though he’s very business savvy, the quiet force behind Little Moonshiners (specialized in the cutest handmade stuffies) is in fact a social disaster.
He does like talking to you, though.
(And has made you a custom wolf stuffie, which has become your all-time favourite)
Eddie Brock
Tumblr media
Eddie and Venom alike love the stuffies you make, but V thinks his host sometimes takes his support of your hobby a bit too far. Recently, he’s asked you to teach him and ever since you’ve been trying to figure it out together. Eddie seems to finally have the basic stitches down while Venom is bordering on giving up. Not even reading the body language of his host makes him understand crochet. So he’s now your ultimate yarn spinner.
Eddie, on the other hand, has become a little competitive. Though he tries to be inconspicuous, you occasionally catch him glancing your way in an attempt to estimate whether your way of crocheting a certain project is more efficient and neater than his. To this extent, he proposes to try a new pattern together (and compare the results).
He does admit, without a second’s doubt, you’re the queen of plushies.
Eddie loves the journaling aspect of it too. He keeps a neat and very minimalist journal. Well, he tries to be minimalist and objective (as his work has taught him to be), but often finds himself writing about you, pondering your opinion on his works.
And Venom loves to tease him about said entries by mentioning them to you.
Farrier
Tumblr media
He’s loath to admit it, but he can’t help but think of his Nan whenever he sees you crochet. The confession almost slipped out when you gave him a cream coloured crocheted turtleneck sweater for Christmas, the reason you puzzled him with taking measurements three months earlier. And it’s this turtleneck he wears quite often and takes with him whenever he’s sent abroad.
Because your scent lingers in it, mixed with his.
Because it’s a piece of home.
It’s you when you aren’t there.
And it’s the only thing that’ll prevent him from crying when he's so far from home it feels like his heart is torn apart at the seams.
Reggie Kray
Tumblr media
Reggie loves to watch you work. He doesn’t need to understand it, finding perfect contentment in seeing you absolutely absorbed in your projects. He’s simply happy to plop you in his lap and rest his head on your shoulder, though that does little to help you focus on the pattern or the tutorial you’re watching.
He gives the best hand massages too! Whether you asked for one or not, Reggie will give you one regardless after you’ve put the hook down for the time being. Sometimes he even stops you after a certain period of time, knowing how your tight grip can cause your hand to cramp after carefully observing you for a while.
Although he does not say it whenever the topic comes up, he will blatantly admit when riled up enough that part of the reason he wants out of the gangster life is to permanently give you the peace and quiet that surrounds you whenever you crochet.
And stills his inner storm.
Also, have a wee treasure I accidentally found😉

Shiny!
This one's just dumb. Still not over Blue gifting Phoenix an empty dented can. Ngl I am never 100% sure how to write Blue Diamond, she's kind of a difficult character, but an effort was still made
-
Being a four-man party meant that it was difficult to hide anything from anyone for too long. I-no had swiftly noticed one of the money jars missing from the table they’d been using to fill them. They tried to divide gold evenly between them, it was just simpler that way. If Tao wanted to buy eight HP Bananas instead of better armor for the third time, then, well, that was her money to spend. Even if everyone wondered where she found the room for them…
I-no knew which one was hers. Tao’s had little cat paws scribbled all over it. Phoenix’s had a purple lid. That left Blue. And given the lack of muffled sniffling, that meant she was probably out at the market buying something with those savings.
She tried not to be envious, but if Blue had wanted to go shopping, why not invite the rest of them? Would’ve been cheaper to split a cart that way.
Unless it had been intentional.
Every once in a while, Phoenix had come back with a gift for someone that he’d picked up with his own money. His habit had begun to rub off on the rest of them. I-no had been gifted a couple of random tchotchkes from Tao a couple weeks back. She’d tossed some nice-looking seashell in a box and presented it to their poor sod of a leader at some point, if only to avoid looking stingy compared to everyone else. If it was supposed to be something like that, it had to mean one of them was gonna get something nice real soon.
“Meow!! Tall lady’s back!!”
Grinning darkly, I-no fluttered off in the direction of her guildmate’s voice. Tao had gotten busy greeting blue before she even had a chance to get through the door.
Aha, and there it was. A gift-wrapped box, currently being held up out of Taokaka’s reach. Blue had the benefit of height, towering over the rest of them, but Tao’s presence still had her looking uneasy.
“That’s enough, Taokaka, you’re going to make me drop it!”
“Welcome back, princess,” said I-no. She gestured to the present. “Was wondering what you’d ducked out for.”
“Ah, I-no,” her accent tugged on the vowels as they came out of her mouth. As much as she hated to admit it, I-no did think it gave her singing voice a distinctive edge over her own. “I think I’m finally getting this ‘gift-giving’ custom!” Blue smiled softly. “I can’t give pearls or colonies anymore, but trinkets aren’t too different, are they? I hope he likes it.”
‘He,’ then. Bummer. Didn’t mean I-no had to get through this completely bored, though. “What, you trying to schmooze up to him?”
“What- what do you mean?”
“O-ho-ho, Tao gets it!” The cat darted by, trying to swat at the gift again. “Red Lady thinks Tall Lady wants to take naps with Good Guy!”
A more g-rated implication than I-no had been leaning towards, but Blue still seemed to get the point. “S-stop it, don’t speak like that!”
I-no could feel tears welling in the corners of her eyes, but she disregarded them and flicked the wetness away. The woman’s weird emotion powers still took some getting used to, but the imp wasn’t one to break down in hysterical crying.
“Relax, yeesh.”
“Hmph.” Raising her nose, Blue pushed past her two teammates and headed down the hall. She found the room next to the one she’d been sleeping in and knocked. When he didn’t open it, Blue let herself in. Their leader was napping facedown on his bed. The sound of the door made him twitch.
“Mhh…who’sat?”
“Phoenix?”
“Blue?” He felt for his glasses along the mattress. “Something wrong?”
When he could see properly, his attention drifted to the package she was carrying. Blue took the opportunity to present it. “I saw this and thought of you!” She held out the little wrapped box with glee.
Phoenix blinked owlishly. “O-oh, for me?”
“I wrapped it up just like you did.” The box was placed in his lap. “Is that the correct way?”
“Uh, it looks great! You did a great job,” he chuckled, sheepish and still a bit confused from being woken so abruptly. But far be it from him to refuse such a kind gift from someone he cared about. He tugged at the ribbon to undo it and carefully pulled apart the wrapping. Blue watched with both hands folded behind her back. While her dark eyebags were ever-present, her smile permeated the gloom of it.
Nestled inside the mass of colorful tissue paper was an empty, dented tin can.
She looked at him with eager eyes. “Do you like it?”
“E-er…” He looked between the ‘gift’ and Blue’s serenely smiling face. “It’s…that’s very kind of you, Blue…”
‘Did I do something wrong? Is she trying to tell me something? Am I doing a terrible job? ‘Reminded me of you,’ does that mean she sees me as trash? Is this some sorta alien metaphor? Oh god, she’s probably about to yell at me. Blue’s gonna yell at me and call me stupid. I’m the worst. Why did I try and be a leader? I’m the worst at this.’
‘I’m so good at this,’ she thought to herself. ‘I can’t wait to tell the others. They’ll be so impressed.’

The Lost Turnabout (2-1)
Tumblr media
Phoenix Wright is called to defend a police officer in her boyfriend's murder. There's just one problem: he's lost his memory!
Welcome to Justice for All! We start off with The Lost Turnabout, involving the murder of a police officer, a proactive defendant, and a head injury resulting in amnesia. Will we remember this case's glory, or will we forget all about it when 2-2 rolls around? Let's take a look!
THE CORE CAST:
Phoenix Wright: Phoenix emerges from semi-retirement; what could've caused him to hide his face after SL-9, though?
Winston Payne: Winston returns as the prosecutor for this case, just as screechy as ever.
Maya Fey: Maya briefly returns as our co-counsel later in the case. A spiritual medium in training, she hasn't changed a bit!
THE MAIN CAST:
Maggey Byrde: A rather unlucky police officer and the defendant for this case.
Richard Wellington: The man, the myth, the Richard Wellington. I quite enjoy his design.
A BRIEF RECAP
Phoenix is facing off against a giant His Honor, trying to plead for his life before being hit on the head with a giant gavel! We wake up; apparently we had an awful dream due to a new ringtone. There's somebody lurking around the corner, and just as we're getting ready... we're hit on the head with a fire extinguisher! Yeowch!
Tumblr media
"Knew I drank too much last night..."
Trial, Day One
We get come back to our senses and are met with a police officer. This is Maggey Byrde, one of my personal favorite recurring characters in the series! The fire extinguisher we got hit on the head with has really messed us up, though: we've lost our memory! Great.
Tumblr media
So it wasn't the sangria...
We enter the courtroom entirely unprepared. After a bit of dialogue where Phoenix very clearly is having problems but nobody really cares, Gumshoe is called to the stand; we also get a picture of the victim, Dustin Prince (who was Maggey's boyfriend at the time). Apparently, Maggey works under Gumshoe: so much for conflict of interest. Gumshoe testifies about the investigation—the victim even managed to write Maggie's name in the sand. Well, there's our first contradiction: her name is 'Maggey', not 'Maggie'. It looks like muscle memory is hard at work, as we point our figure without really realizing it: but we're starting to get back into the groove, pointing out the contradiction and getting a new testimony.
We get a new testimony from Gumshoe after His Honor asks if Dustin and Maggey really were lovers. There's some funny implications about Gumshoe's crush on Maggey here, even if the topic is sore given Dustin's death. Anyways, we press and press and press, eventually coming to the topic of a custom-made yellow baseball glove. Gumshoe presents it to the court; Maggey is about to tell us that she had to special order it for another reason, but we move on. The question is now raised: did the victim really write 'Maggie'?
Gumshoe testifies that there was sand underneath his fingernail and scratches on the nail itself leading to the conclusion that Dustin did, indeed, write the name 'Maggie'. There's just one issue with that: he wrote it with his right hand and the baseball glove that Maggey ordered goes on the right hand. It's a left-handed glove! There's no possible way that Dustin could have written the name 'Maggie'. Ergo, somebody else wrote it! Maggey seems to be exonerated, but Payne objects. He says that they've still got a witness! Court is called for a brief recess.
During the recess, we tell Maggey about our... condition. She offers to kick us in the head, we decline, and she gives us back our business card. Swell. She also tells us about an incident with a cell phone: she and Dustin had found somebody's phone and called them. Whoever was on the phone thanked her and she ended the call by telling them her name was Maggey... pronounced 'Maggie'. I wonder if this is our mysterious writer.
As we're getting ready to go back inside, guess who shows up!
Tumblr media
MAYA!!!!!!
We don't know who Maya is, but we do get a list from her; con artists connected to the cell phone. This mysterious phone caller is starting to look more and more like our killer author! Maya makes a subtle insinuation that we're suffering from early-onset dementia before we go back into the courtroom. Time to meet this mysterious witness.
We get Maya back as our co-counsel and Payne introduces this witness as a 'drifter'. The drifter gets rather tilted about it, and good God does he like to rant. This is Richard Wellington (Dick Wellington, and a gumshoe is a wellington boot; "Dick Gumshoe", get it? I like this name a lot!), our assaulter and this case's ultimate witness. He must be our murderer!
Tumblr media
With a Ph.D. in Twinking, as it were.
Wellington testifies that he saw Maggey after Dustin fell from a height right in front of him alongside a bundle of bananas. Very short and decisive. We already know, of course, that there weren't any bananas. There was a yellow baseball glove that would look like bananas if he was missing his glasses! We're already on the hyper-offense with this guy. If he was missing his glasses, then there's no way he could've identified Maggey. Wellington testifies again, saying that he immediately called the police station at 6:45... just over 15 minutes after Dustin died. We press him for an excuse; he says he was looking for a phone booth since he didn't have a phone.
So he did lose his phone!
It seems that he does have his phone on him, though. But why would he need to find a phone booth?! There's one right next to the body! What was he doing during those 15 minutes? Looking for his glasses... which were under the victim's body! As he fell, Dustin grabbed his killer's glasses. That's what Wellington was looking for! He's the real killer!
Wellington argues that since he doesn't know who Maggey is, he couldn't have written her name wrong or not! We know for a fact that he knew her name. After all, Maggey found his cell phone! We tell the court this information. He would know her name was pronounced 'Maggie' if he only heard it, and since that's the more popular spelling... well, baby makes two!
Payne argues that we have no motive. We know for a fact he has one, though: remember that name list? It's a list of con artists... and it was in the memory of Wellington's phone! That's why he had to kill Dustin; he was a police officer with a con artist's phone! He panicked. He thought that Dustin might run a check on his phone... or already had! Dustin laughs. There's no proof that this is his phone, is it?!
We want to check for fingerprints, but apparently we wiped it off because of the sand all over it. Wellington says that he has his phone right there, but it "glitched" and "all the numbers disappeared". He also asks us where he found his phone. When he assaulted us! He cockily tells us that we've forgotten who we are.
Who we are...?
Wait.
We have the same model of phone! What if he mixed up the phones? We present our business card to the court and tell Maya to call us.
Tumblr media
The good news is that this establishes Maggey's innocence. The bad news is that this sets off an IED, killing everybody in Courtroom No. 8. Too bad!
Wellington is holding on to our phone. He strangles himself to near-death: earning us an acquittal for Maggey. In the aftermath of the trial, Maggey is rather distraught, blaming herself for Dustin's death. After all, her life has been a whirlwind of bad luck. Since she was 6 months old, when she fell from the 9th floor of my apartment building, she's been hit by all sorts of vehicles, gotten sick from all sorts of foods, failed at almost every test she's ever taken, experienced almost every kind of disaster, and never won or even tied at a game of tic-tac-toe! Her misfortune tends to latch on the people around her, she says. She swears to turn her life back around, though! Despite her grief, she leaves with a smile on her face, and 2-1 comes to a close.
What Really Happened?
Richard Wellington was a member of a gang of confidence artists. Maggey and Dustin found his phone, which he had lost, and were going to give it back to him. As they were, though, he saw that Dustin was a police officer. Panicking out of fear that they had searched his phone, he pushed Dustin off of the bridge they were standing on and stole back his phone. He then decided to frame Maggey, whose name he had heard over the phone, by writing her name in the sand.
THOUGHTS
I went into this remembering that I downright hated 2-1. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I actually enjoyed it; I still don't think it's very good, but it's better than I remembered.
To start with the bad, the amnesiac gimmick overstays its welcome very quickly. This is one of the only cases in the entire franchise that actively makes me cringe at times. When I first watched through PixelPartners's lets play, I actually skipped it. That's honestly the biggest issue with this case: the amnesiac gimmick is incredibly tiring, although I do like the subtle ways it rears its head like Phoenix forgetting he wiped Maggey's phone off. I think a better way to have done this case as a tutorial instead of a somewhat groan-inducing amnesia plotline was to have Maggey actually be a legal aide, like her dialogue says she could've been. That would've been fun, seeing Phoenix be a teacher two games early!
I appreciate the spike in difficulty compared to 1-1, but it's still pretty simple: one thing I think is really cool, though, is the fact that you have to point out that the baseball glove is left-handed by actually looking at the picture of it. Maggey is always a treat, and I like Maya's surprise appearance! Payne is also a welcome addition whenever he pops up.
For his part, I don't like Beef- er, Richard Wellington very much. He doesn't have a lot of character or charisma, lacking a lot of the staying power that Frank Sawhit has. The catch with the switched cell phones is also pretty easy to see coming in my opinion.
Generally, this case is rather lackluster, even if it's much better than I remember it being. Just two days ago, when writing the initial draft for this review, I said that I loathed 2-1 and considered it one of the worst in the entire series. I still think it's the weakest opening case, but that's definitely not for lack of trying. It does what it does well, but has a few more obvious issues compared to other openers.
Next time, we'll cover 2-2: Reunion, and Turnabout. See you guys then!
Final Rating: 4/10
FAVORITE LINES

Nahyuta Sahdmadhi is the worst prosecutor of the AA series, bar none. (Spoiler warning for like, all of Spirit of Justice)
I’ll die on the hill that Nahyuta is the worst written prosecutor in the history of the series.
He’s such a sanctimonious twat with none of the humor or intrigue that every other prosecutor had that made them good characters. All of his gimmicks are just reminiscent of a stick-up-the-ass cunt who thinks he’s holier-than-thou 24/7/365.
During the rare moment he’s being genuinely funny is whenever he takes his stoic monk thing to the extreme. It’s just a damn shame that there are only 2 major instances of that happening; when he admits to waiting for hours for a burger, and when he acts out an entire rakugo bit and offered to act even more. Had he been less of a sanctimonious dickhead and a second reason, he would’ve been serviceable as a prosecutor. Not even his slapstick is funny, because again, it’s all framed as serious sanctimoniousness. It’s not actually goofy or over the top as shit. The closest thing to over the top we get is him describing the ridiculous as shit “hells” that their religion has. And even then, it’s done with so much spite and seriousness that it just ends up feeling like you’re dealing with a goddamn puritan.
But the biggest contributing factor to why he’s genuinely the worst thing about Spirit of Justice (which is an achievement considering what else is in it, not to say it’s a bad game though) is that he was given the WORST attempt at redemption I’ve ever seen.
I would’ve said that even the attempt at redemption would’ve soured my feelings about him even further, but there actually WAS a way to properly redeem the idiot.
But he was just FLOPPED. The ONLY indication that he was a redeemable character was that Durke quite LITERALLY spelled it out that apparently Nahyuta was “huwting own da inside uwu”.
GEE, THANKS, GAME. WAY TO HAVE SO LITTLE CONFIDENCE IN YOUR AUDIENCE OVER A REDEMPTION ARC THAT IN LIEU OF ACTUAL HINTS OF REDEEMING BEHAVIOR, YOU HAVE A CHARACTER JUST SAY THAT HE’S ACTUALLY A GOOD GUY DEEP DOWN DESPITE HIM BEING A TURBO CUNT.
Throughout the ENTIRE game, there was literally zero indication of Nayhuta being a decent person whatsoever, even tiny hints.
He:
- swore that Apollo and Trucy would go to hell at the point in the second trial when she was OBVIOUSLY innocent
- seemed to be GENUINELY confused at Tahrust’s nudging at his motivations for his crime (being that he did all of the third trial’s crimes purely because of how the DC act would have screwed over him and his wife)
- held a PERSONAL grudge on Phoenix and took it out on Athena because of Phoenix’s win in trial 3
- never dropped his sanctimonious BS throughout the entirety of the game until the end
And there is no explaining this shit away with “Oh, he was kept under watch by Garan to make sure he’s not a rebel!”
WELL THEN MAYBE THE WRITERS SHOULD ACTUALLY SHOW PROOF OF THAT HAPPENING INSTEAD OF JUST SAYING “OH YEAH IT’S TOTALLY HAPPENING”.
So what was that way you properly redeem the stupid twink?
VISUALIZE THE REGIME’S CHOKEHOLD ON HIM THAT MAKES HIM ACT LIKE HE’S GOT A GIGANTIC STICK UP HIM.
Fucking replace Ema as the detective. She’s cool and all, but she actually just had no place in the game except to be Nahyuta’s punching bag (dickhead). Make the detective a fucking Khura’inese detective who acts as a mediator between the uptight Nahyuta. Let’s name him, I dunno, Dih’ku Tectiv. Fuck it.
And he’s friendly and tries to reign him in, reminding him to respect foreign customs. But whenever the detective’s not around, Nahyuta’s less of a dick and actually acts normal and peaceable.
Maybe he’s glad to see Apollo again, maybe he respects Phoenix’s skill as a lawyer, maybe he tries to mentor Athena a bit?
But as soon as detective comes back, Nahyuta’s back to swearing hells and shit.
And the twist can be that the detective was actually Ga’ran’s way of monitoring Nahyuta, even abroad, which can explain why he’s still a fucking uptight cunt outside of his country; a country that, may I remind you, had no idea that his foreign trials did not have Dances of Devotion. If such a glaring detail never made it back to those backwater hicks, they wouldn’t have noticed Nahyuta being less of a cunt in a foreign court room.
I hate Nahyuta so goddamn much. He’s so shit, and the entire Kingdom of Khura’in is filled with bloodthirsty psychopathic genocide supporters, and no one in-universe gives a flying fuck.

Day 2 of @layton-npc-appreciation-week! The prompt today was Unwound Future/Vs. Phoenix Wright, and I thought it was very cute that each game had a funny little kitty c:
I've only ever played plvsaa once, and Kira was one of the only characters I remembered at all, and I loved her. Becky always seemed very silly to me in that she was SO eager to drop her customer service voice at any point in time. And now they both have kitty!

Red Death - 3.
Characters – Reader x Jake, Phoenix, Rooster, Penny and Maverick.  Word count – 1.5k.  Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
The team waited at the edge of the tarmac, the plane had landed and now they were waiting for the door to be dropped. As the cargo door lowered, they watched, a few people crossed over and stopped at the edge. Hangman clenched his jaw as he watched, a warm hand touched his elbow, he looked to his side and was meet Phoenix’s gaze. He tried to give her a smile but he knew it came out as a grimace.  ‘She’s there.’ Maverick said, everyone focused in on you as you marched down the small ramp, dressed in black. Everyone’s stomachs dropped.  They watched as you stopped at the end, from your foot hitting the cement it was ten seconds until the first coffin emerged from the darkness. Your hand was resting on your head as the others immediately stood to attention. Everyone watched in silence as the five coffins were wheeled out. The flags draped over them moved slightly with the gentle breeze. You stayed in your position as the coffins were moved, they disappeared inside, away from any prying eyes. Only when the cargo planes hanger was closing did you move, your hand dropped to your side, you gaze moved to the team before you walked in, following the coffins.  ‘Isn’t she meant to be doing solo missions?’ Payback asked, Hangman silently nodded.
‘Fuck.’ You screamed, chucking your helmet against the lockers. It bounced off the door and landed on the floor as it slid across it, you turned and punched the closest locker door.  The mirror that was stuck to the wall caught your attention, you looked at your reflection before you tore the patch off your chest. Turning to the door you yanked it open, the force caused a gust of wind to brush your hair back, the fabric folded in your hand. You noticed the team walking towards you, they parted for you as your marched towards them.  ‘Y/N?’ Phoenix called out, you raised a hand at your side and shook your head.  ‘She’ll find us when she’s ready.’ Jake said, the group mumbled in agreement before they walked away, yet he stood and watched you disappearing form.
‘Everything okay?’ Maverick asked when you joined them at the bar, you gave Penny a small smile.  ‘I’ve quit.’ You announced, you focused on the drinks that scattered the table instead of your friends.  ‘What?’ They chorused, even Penny hesitated on moving to serve the next customer.  ‘I thought you couldn’t?’ Pheonix quizzed, you raised your eyebrows.  ‘I just lost five team members that shouldn’t have been there in the first place.’ You said, you knocked your knuckles against the counter.  ‘Don’t let it weigh on you.’ Maverick said, you jaw clenched as your dark gaze snapped to the group that watched you.  ‘It was meant to be you.’ You snapped, hands clenched at your sides.  ‘What?’  ‘The five people in the coffins were meant to be chosen out of this group.’ You told them pointing down at the ground between your friends, their shoulders dropped.  ‘Why didn’t you let us make our own mind?’ Rooster asked, you pulled your bottom lip between your teeth as you exhaled through your nose.  ‘They didn’t die flying.’ You said, you sent a rough thank you to the bartender before you down the shot that barely touched the counter, ‘They were shot down the second they went over them, twenty-one days they were missing before they decided to send me out to support the ground forces that went in to try and rescue them.’ You explained, you watched as their faces paled, you scoffed and shook your head.  ‘God, their coffins are empty.’ You snarled, the group looked at you before you tapped your finger on the counter and sighed.  ‘I need to go.’ You said, pushing out your seat and started walking, a warm grip on your wrist stopped you.  ‘Buttercup?’ Jake asked, you forced a smile.  ‘I just need time to think.’ You told him, you saw his jaw bounce before he nodded and let go.  He watched as you made your way through the bar, a few people tried to talk to you but stopped when they came across the scowl, you pushed the door open before you stepped out. The door shut and blocked Jake’s view of you.
‘I can see you shivering from here.’ He called out, you shrugged as he moved behind you, he lowered himself down to wrap himself around you.  ‘I missed you.’ He said, his lips moving over your shoulder.  ‘I missed you too.’ You mumbled back, his hands started to rub up and down your arms.  ‘Do you want to talk about it?’ Jake questioned, he wrapped his arms around you and pulled you to his chest.  ‘No, thank you.’ You whispered, he lowered his head to rest on your shoulder.  ‘Okay, I’m gonna talk if that’s okay?’ He asked, you nodded and he tightened his arms.  ‘I missed you.’ He repeated, you lowered your head and your chin rested on his forearm, ‘I was honestly lost without you, not having you in the house.’ He pressed a kiss to the back of your head.  ‘I want to marry you.’ He admitted, you tensed up in his arms.  ‘What?’ You asked and twisted in his arms to look at him.  ‘I want my wife to be the badass Major that everyone talks about.’ He continued, your brows dipped together as you shook your head.  ‘Jake.’  ‘This isn’t the proposal,’ he said, ‘that will be a surprise, but I want you to understand that I don’t plan on leaving you.’ He informed you, he pressed his lips against your head just above your ear.  ‘You should.’ You mumbled.  ‘Should what?’ Jake questioned.  ‘Leave me.’ You said, you could hear him inhale sharply.  ‘Why?’  ‘I’m a mess Jake, have been for a long time.’ You told him, he moved behind you.  ‘Doesn’t matter.’ He replied, you dipped your head, cool air slipped down the collar of your top.  ‘Jake.’  ‘No,’ he said sternly, his grip around your tightened, ‘this relationship isn’t ending, we can work this out together, your side piece will help you.’  ‘Jake.’ You sighed, he pulled one arm away from you before he held the other out in front of you, your gaze locked onto the small red velvet box.  ‘Open it.’ He said, his voice barely audible above the waves crashing into the sand.  He watched over your shoulder, you opened the small lid and gasped at the simple ring. The golden band held a small stone in the centre, elegant and beautiful. He knew it belonged on your finger the second he spotted it.  ‘You said it wasn’t proposal.’ You asked.  ‘It’s not, unless you want it to be.’ He replied, ‘I want you to know I was going to do it before you left, was gonna get down on my knee in front of everyone for you.’ He explained, you brought your bottom lip between your teeth as he nudged your ear with his nose.  ‘Why didn’t you?’ You quizzed.  ‘Didn’t want to force you and make you feel as if you had to come back to me.’ He mumbled, you shook your head.  ‘I’d always come home to you.’ You replied, he pressed a kiss to your neck before he rested his chin on your shoulder and sighed, his gaze moved to the sea whilst yours stayed on the ring. You both fell into a short silence.
‘Jake?’ You asked, he hummed, your stomach started to flip, ‘Ask me.’ you tapped his forearm.  ‘What?’
‘Ask me the question.’ You told him, he pulled away from you and awkwardly crawled in front of you, his eyes wide. You were sure yours were the same as you took in the wide smile.  ‘Really?’ He breathed, you nodded.  ‘Ask me.’ You repeated again.  ‘Y/N Y/L/N, will you do me the honour of becoming my partner in crime for the rest of my life?’ He asked, you arched eyebrow before you nodded.  ‘Yes.’ You got out before he lunged forward and you landed in the sand with Jake on top of you. His wide smile beamed down at you.  ‘I love you.’ He said, his lips landed on your as he pecked them multiple times before you started to giggle.  ‘I love you too.’ You replied, he pressed a long kiss on your lips before he pulled back and looked into your eyes, you lifted your hands and cupped his face.  ‘My wife’s gonna be the hot major.’ He said giddy, a giggle escaped his lips as you stroked his cheeks. He gasped and pushed himself up, he balanced himself on one hand as he reached for the box, he popped it open before he managed to free the ring, you held your hand up and he slid it down. A perfect fit.  ‘Looks good on you.’ He commented, you smiled and wriggled your fingers.  ‘Hey, you better not be fucking on the beach.’ Rooster called out, Hangman’s head dipped with a groan.  ‘Shut up, I’m tryna spend time with my fiancé.’ He shouted, his gaze still focused on you.  ‘What?’ Phoenix shouted, you tilted your head back far enough to see them groups silhouettes at the edge of the decking.  ‘She said yes?’ She asked, Jake’s smile widened when you held your hand up, they all cheered and made their way onto the sand.  ‘Incoming.’ Jake muttered as he pulled away from you, he helped you sit up before you were wrapped in warmth and laying back on the sand, Phoenix on top of you.

mayhaps 15 and 22 for roxanix ?
YIPPEES MORE ROXANIX my beloveds. fuck [quastions from here]
ROXANIX / KINETIC MOCKTAIL
15. sun, moon, stars, earth, or eclipse? Prism is the earth who wishes to be a star, I think. Aiming too far too soon, emotions clouding her judgement that she could be brilliant (already brilliant) with what she has. Also, out of all the characters in IEYTD I really do think she's the most grounded. Still a bit eccentric and silly mind you, but like. She's mostly reasonable. Which is hard to say for the rest of the cast.
Phoenix is the moon. Kind of a wild little guy out in space. Prism may be a little jealous from her perspective, being closer to the stars and all--but Phoenix orbits her day and night man. Depending on what theory you subscribe to, the earth did contribute to the creation to the moon, so there's something there I think.
22. their own little way (or ways) to say ‘i love you’. I already talked about Prism's little ways in this one, and it's kind of the same if she's with Phoenix methinks! Summarized version is she's verbally affectionate and supportive, and she loves spending quality time with them. Phoenix isn't exempt from receiving little custom-made trinkets from her with all the scrap recycling she does. Obviously Phoenix LOVES those little things.
Phoenix is a very affectionate person. They like to hold and hug Prism, and at some point it becomes something of a habit. It's also usually their touch that gets Prism out of her work mode. They use it a lot to convince Prism to take a break and attend to her needs, dammit!!!! Phoenix really likes this role though, they get to take care of one of their favorite people in the world :] They enjoy spending time with her too, either helping her or just listening to her ramble about her stuff. Phoenix loves supporting her through her down times, when Prism's doubting herself (though sometimes it gets a little chaotic without a voice of reason between the two of them...) Most of all though, Phoenix loves Prism's creations and treats them with utmost respect, Especially the bobots. Loves them because they know they're part of her. Supplementary reading: this other post because there's a bunch of overlap there too :3

uh I was supposed to do this for dec 21st
"h-happy december 21st! :D? uh I know oilver day kind of ended in my time zone but uhhh wip ig yayyyy. I'll finish this later."
Tumblr media
to be honest, the reason why I'm so delayed is because I spent literally all of dec 20th trying to figure out a colored design for him and then realized there's a non-zero chance I'm not going to color at all. Anyways he's more of an au-type/oc-like olvier so yeah...
Tumblr media
still goes by oliver but clearly someone here didn't know how to spell correctly given the "Olvier/Oliver/Oilver" thing -_- (end of like quotes from twitter) --- yeah uh on the one hand I'm proud of finally giving him a design that we're like. Weirdly happy with. On the other, man did I kind of wanna do something for his birth. Though yeah uh, he's basically an OC now highkey. he's also reALLY GAY like uM thAT HEART TAIL ABOVE THE HEAD IS SO INTENTIONAL LIKE OH MY GOD iT"S So OBVIUOS O LI VERR >_< gonna draw pitane eko denkin next to him tbh the lore is. long. and i doubt the average person cares enough to know about the extent of *gae* this birdman has but the point is he's *gay* and somehow I've been sTUCK on this ship for like *a decade* anyways quick info - he's 5 foot 10 (179 cm), long ass bird wings, feathers from his arms, has a bird foot - came from a factory where "characters" were customized and whatever - adult, also kinda lived multiple lifetimes or something due to lore reasons - 50% phoenix, 25% demon, 25% human - kind of op - can regenerate his limbs like a lizard - also has two hearts cuz yeah - gae - simp - also kind of a neet because canonically he lives in the equivalent of a void (not gonna info dump the rest tho it's an effort LOL)
idk if the image quality is gonna survive man.
bleh bleh bleh, hopefully he breaks into my dreams again he's cute idk man it's like 2 am here he's cute.

“Looking for something in particular?”
A voice disturbed Griffin, who was currently hunched over the top of a display case, filled with rings, all of them beautiful, finely crafted….and expensive. He jolted up, meeting the eyes of the clerk.
“Oh...yea.” He rubbed the back of his neck, awkwardly chuckling. The clerk looked him over, trying to read him for what he wanted. Decently groomed short chestnut hair, a purple polo shirt and pressed jeans, brown leather dress shoes...probably had something decently important later today. And considering what kind of jewelry he was looking at….
“You’re proposing later, aren’t you?” Griffin paused, nodding.
“How did you?...” He sighed, his shoulders slumping. “Ugh, yeah. But everything’s so expensive...I’ve been saving for practically a year and even then I can barely afford any of the good ones!” The clerk watched him as he went back to pouring over the rings, struggling between getting his loved one something they deserved and something he could pay off.
“Actually..” He perked up, holding a finger in the air as his icy blue eyes pondered a thought. “I think we might have a set of rings in the back for decently cheap, $100, $120….but they still look rather nice and are of high craft. Would you like me to see if we still have them?”
Griffin nodded, letting out a sigh of relief. “Really? Oh thanks, man, you’re a lifesaver!”
“Ah, no problem. My job is to help people find what they’re looking for, after all! Now if you’ll excuse me…” He walked off, headed into the forbidden parts of the store unknown to the commoner. After a few minutes, Griffin (who had started scrolling through Twitter) was brought back to reality by the sound of something being set on the glass in front of him, along with the clerk’s statement of “Take a look”.
Two small ring boxes were laid in front of him, one coated in red velvet and the other in blue. He lifted the red box, popping it open to reveal the contents inside. A rose gold band, with two small diamonds and one ruby crowning it. The edges of the band flares, giving it a ruffled pattern almost like creased fabric. Ooh...this would be perfect for her! He picked up the blue box, inspecting its hidden treasure as well. It was a similarly simple pure gold band, two sapphires on either side of a diamond tucked away in a golden four-pointed star. He looked back to the clerk, grabbing both of them as he fidgeted his wallet from his pocket.
“You said these were…$120?” The clerk nodded, leading to Griffin slamming the money on the counter. “Oh man, thank you so much! She’s gonna love this, I-I can’t thank you enough!” Placing the ring boxes in a bag for him, the clerk waved as another satisfied customer ran off.
The rest of the day was as normal as it could be for a day leading up to such a big event. Griffin called to double and triple-check his reservations were still in place, re-washed and ironed everything he was wearing for later, and took an intensive shower. Everything had to go perfect for tonight. Soon enough, after what felt like both no time at all and a full eon, his doorbell rang. Answering it, he was met with the face of his beloved Kelly. She had dressed similarly nicely, a long somewhat shimmery orange dress accompanied by a pearl necklace. Her blonde hair had been neatly curled at the edges, letting it frame her face in a rather flattering way.
“You look nice.” Griffin stuttered, eyes darting across the room as she chuckled.
“Thanks. You too.” She grabbed his hand, leading him out the door. “C’mon, we should get going. You said this place was expensive, and I don’t wanna miss our chance to eat $100 steak.”
The car ride over was nice, Kelly looking out the window at the late-night city’s lights. Her eyes drifted over the scenery, soon enough settling on the restaurant they had arrived at. She had known it was a fancy place, but she didn’t expect it to look quite this nice. The building had strings of fairy lights dangling from it, and as they walked in, she took note of how well everyone was dressed. She started to think she might’ve underdressed for the occasion.
“Mr. West? Ah yes, we have your reservation. Please, follow me.” The waitress led the two to an empty table, one which happened to be on the patio. A nice open space, no one else outside, illuminated by the moonlight….it was perfect. Griffin kept a hand on the two ring boxes in his pocket, waiting for the perfect moment.
Whatever was above must’ve taken a shine to them that day, as the dinner went perfectly. Their food was cooked to perfection, the wine the servers brought out was a rich palette, and all night the moon and stars were perfectly visible and bright. As Kelly polished off her second glass of wine, he gripped the boxes tighter than he ever had before and sighed.
“Hm?” Kelly placed her glass down, focusing on her partner. “Something wrong, Grif?”
“No, it’s just….we’ve been together for a while now and...you’re really important to me. I
realized I found something I don’t wanna lose. So….” He took the red box from his pocket and held it out to her, letting her see as he popped it open. “Will you marry me?”
She gasped, grabbing the box as she teared up. “Oh my God….yes!” His heart pounded out of his chest as she slipped the ring on, admiring it. He had taken the shot and hit a bullseye.
“The best part?” He held the blue box in his hands, showing its contents to her. “They’re a set. We match!” Putting his own ring on, Kelly practically pounced on him as she pulled him into a hug that turned into the two holding each other’s hands, rings resting against each other. It felt like a moment that would last forever…..until they withdrew their hands in shock.
“Ow, something shocked me!” Kelly rubbed her hand, surprised by the indignant interruption.
“Yea, me too….might’ve been some static electricity or something in the rings.” Griffin explained to the best of his knowledge. That was a thing that could happen, right? Metal conducted electricity.
“Mhm...probably. Felt a bit stronger than static, though. It was just...weird.” She unconsciously flexed her fingers to fully shake the feeling, although a new, even stranger one replaced it. Her hands began to shift, growing broader and more well-groomed, like they belonged to someone from the upper class. Though the expected tightness of the ring becoming too small for her fingers was strangely never present…
“Maybe you just aren’t taking your wine well.” Griffin chuckled, taking her hand in his in an attempt to comfort her, only to realize how large it was compared to mere moments ago. He gulped, feeling his hands become a bit more comfortable in holding hers, the change nowhere as near as drastic as Kelly’s but still something concerning. His arms tensed, swelling with a slightly toned layer of muscle new to his form. He took his hands from Kelly’s, looking over them. Sure, he admittedly never held his wine the best, but he’d never hallucinated before, and he’d definitely never actually felt it.
“Grif? Do you think someone put something in our food?” She took a longer, more well-built arm to her chest, feeling the fat layered on it melt away and replace with an admittedly not too shabby set of pecs. “Wh-What?” Her face flushed, eyes widening at the realization that whatever was happening to them had decided to shift her sex around.
“I’d like to see whatever drug can do something like this at all, let alone this fast!” He gripped onto a chair’s back, groaning as his back popped, leaving him slightly taller and, as a cursory scan of his new body would reveal, sporting a new set of abs. “Woah...this is...something.”
Kelly, meanwhile, was not as enthralled with her changes as Griffin was. She felt awkward enough in her dress already, and the cracking of her spine and toning frame didn’t serve to help. What only made things worse was the notable pressure she felt from her high heels, confirming her fears as the sides of the shoes gave, leaving her feet exposed in the cold night air. “Ugh….just kill me now….”
“Hey, cmon, don’t be like that.” Griffin pulled her into a hug, grinning in an attempt to ease her fears. “This probably won’t be that bad.” She looked up at him, desperate for some form of comfort. It was probably just the changes, but...he looked so much more handsome than usual. His jawline was sharper, his eyes had cooled to a soft smoky grey, and his formerly chestnut hair had burnt to a dark black, even changing how it was styled into a striking slicked back and spiked look. Something about it was…..familiar and comforting.
Griffin swept a bang from her face, letting him look at her shifted face. He let out a quiet gasp, her heart sinking.
“I-Is it bad?” She clasped her hands together, still feeling the ring.
“No, you’re...you’re gorgeous.” His hand rested against her cheek, taking everything in. Her face had gained this strong stoic look to it, almost statue-esque. His hair had faded to a platinum, combed into a set of bangs that perfectly framed his face and made similarly pale eyes stand out. “I...wow.” He’d never felt this strongly towards...anyone. He took one of her pearls in his hand, only to let go of it as he realized it had gained an odd fabric like texture.
Kelly watched as her pearl necklace flattened and softened, the chain around her neck becoming the same silk as the pearls now were. She brushed over it with her hands, the string now a rumpled scarf of some sort...what was the term? The word “cravat” suddenly popped to mind, albeit she didn’t know where from. Yes, that was right.
Griffin coughed as something tugged against his throat, looking down to see a bright red tie had formed around his neck. More notably, where it touched seemed to sap the red from his shirt, leaving it pure white as the still-blue edges tugged away from itself, leaving him with a formal white undershirt topped with a sapphire blue suit jacket. “Guess they have a stricter take on business casual than I thought…” He awkwardly joked as he watched the blue spread down to neatly pressed dress pants, his changes finishing with his shoes expanding slightly and shifting into dark leather.
Kelly brushed her face, slightly flushed from Griffin’s new form. …..Griffin? Was that right? No, that...that wasn’t it. What was his name, though? As she thought, her clothing underwent its own metamorphosis, bleeding into a combination of a black vest and a deep red suit jacket, albeit this one more high quality than her partner’s. The material shared its conquest of her wardrobe with her partner’s changes, as the ends of her dress wrapped around her legs into fanciful perfectly tailored wine red pants. Her shoes even got a second shot as the heels flattened to the ground, a refined pair of leather dress shoes.
“Is...is it over?” The two looked at each other, Griffin pausing at his new voice. It was young, nothing too outstanding on its own but probably could be with some power put behind it, like some form of objection.
“I...I believe so.” Kelly gasped, putting a hand to her throat as she felt her new Adam’s apple. The voice it had given her was a rather pleasing one, deep and proper, the voice of someone who really knew what they were doing. “My...this is all so….” She didn’t get to finish her thought as she trailed off, Griffin taking her hands one again.
“Not what I expected to happen tonight, either. Can’t say I’m too mad though.” Kelly blushed, Griffin’s face equally red as he leaned in for a kiss, which she gladly reciprocated. That simple act sealed the two’s fates as when they pulled back, a different, more fitting set of memories and personality traits belonged to the pair.
“Wright....must you be this extravagant?” He looked around the patio, taking in the almost storybook-like picture the two found themselves in.
“Of course. Nothing else for my Miles.” Edgeworth turned his head, leading Phoenix to giggle.
“You’re an embarrassment.” He tried to come off as his usual stern self, but the slightest hint of a smirk on his lips was his lover’s cue to keep going.
“Hey, you know how I get when drunk.”
“I suppose I do, Feenie.” Miles slipped his hand into his partner’s, only for the two of them to pause and investigate the rings they didn’t remember putting on.
“Guess I was a bit more drunk than I thought….” He looked away, rubbing his neck in that ever-so-Wright way. A pause of awkward silence, before he sighed and reconnected eye contact. “Hey um….even if we don’t remember it...would you still...you know…”
“Of course, you idiot.” Edgeworth full on smiled, a rare sight, and grabbed Phoenix’s hand once again, planting a kiss on his cheek. Even if they didn’t quite remember how they got here, this proved to be the best night of their lives.

You guys ever have that issue where you’ve got a bunch of au ideas and you have no idea which one to start talking about?
Well, I decided to let you guys decide which au to start with using a poll!
Some info about each au:
Sonic generations Linked Au: An au of sonic generations where when the time eater shows up and messes up time, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy have to team up with their classic selves to find both the time stones and the chaos emeralds in order to fix everything. The time stones are used to free Sonic’s friends and create portals into locations from the past, but the catch is that using them attracts the time eater. The chaos emeralds can be used to repel and later fight back against the time eater, but they got scattered throughout time and space when the time eater attacked Sonic’s birthday party.
Ace attorney dual destinies rewrite: a rewrite where Phoenix got his attorney’s badge back, but is reluctant to use it due to a fear of messing things up again. The fact that the legal system has deteriorated to a point where one case caused everyone to start rioting doesn’t help. Clay and pearl show up earlier in the story, Klavier has a bigger role in the Themis case, and overall there’s a little more emotional weight in some scenes.
Ace attorney spirit of justice rewrite: Ok, this one is where things are WAY more different. After Phoenix tells Apollo and Trucy the truth about their heritage, both of them are furious and want to confront Lamiroir for trying to keep that a secret for much longer. There’s just one problem: Lamoroir is taking a break from performing and went to the place where she met the man that she truly loved: Khura’in. With this in mind, and knowing that he can’t really stop them, Phoenix sends Apollo and Trucy to where Maya is staying in Khura’in so that they can find Lamiroir, and they get caught up in what’s going on with the legal system over there. In the meantime, Dhurke comes to the states to look for Apollo and the Orb, and ended up finding Phoenix, who is not very happy to see him. While Trucy and Apollo are investigating in Khura’in, Dhurke and Phoenix investigate in Kurain village, with the help of Pearl.
Sonic forces rewrite: (I know there are so many sonic forces rewrites out there already, but I might as well throw my hat into the ring) A rewrite where classic sonic isn’t there, and the phantom ruby incident happened when sonic and the others were younger. When Eggman digs through his old files and finds some notes on the phantom ruby, he decides to give it another shot, this time with a live host. When Infinite attacks and knocks out sonic, Tails tries to carry him out of there, but gets knocked out in the process. Flash forward a few months, Eggman is in the process of taking over the world, and the resistance is fighting back with three leaders: Knuckles, Amy, and Tails. When Infinite attacks the custom character (Rookie), Tails is the one who saves him and leads him to the resistance. Also, Tails has a little wisp friend with him. When they hear a rumor that Sonic is alive in one of Eggman’s prisons, Tails and the Rookie have to work together in order to find him while also freeing places and people from Eggman’s control. In the meantime, from Sonic’s perspective, he has to find a way to break out of the prison and find out how to stop the phantom ruby in its new form, but infinite’s illusions and a speed limiter they put on him will make things even more difficult.
Balan Wonderworld Rewrite: Less of a rewrite and more of a complete rehaul of the story, but without changing the characters. Their motivations on the other hand… (I know a lot of people hate the game, I’m not the biggest fan of it either, but I liked the idea of it). The main gist of the story is that the protagonist has to go on a journey to patch up their “heart” as Balan calls it, and in order to get there, they have to assist Balan in helping other people first (I know that’s a vague explanation, but I feel like it would be easier to show in comic form than like this…)

arii i've been thinking... in a no curses au, what would suguru's job be? they only thing i can see him as rn is a nurse (thank you kenny) 🌖
🌖 ANON…… i’m so happy you asked >:3 i have a couple different ideas but !! pls lemme know which one you think fits him best…..
1/ teacher
self-explanatory <33 it just makes sense!! he has such a passion for teaching and his students love him 🥺🥺 sugu is just…. such a chill teacher. but also so good at what he does. the kind of teacher who makes you dread exam week but he’s an expert at making his students more invested in the topics so it usually ends up well!! and he 100% gossips with them during lunch breaks….. i just love him he’s so good 😭😭
oh and!! personally i see him being a literature teacher or a history teacher :3 probably both… sometimes steps in as a gym teacher too. he has range !!
2/ lawyer
this one also feels so Right…… suguru as a character has such a passion for defending the weak. so i firmly believe that he’d be a defense attorney <333 and he makes it a point to always believe in his clients’ innocence. phoenix wright style. he would probably be a lot more stressed from this kind of profession but as long as we’re in a no curses au he should be fine….
also just. the idea of him carrying a briefcase, drinking from an expensive to-go cup of cappuccino…. hair slicked back and tied up into a ponytail…… wearing a suit and glasses 😵‍💫😵‍💫 yeah. objectively the sexiest sugu of them all i think
3/ doctor
needed to add this one too bc while i also love and adore nurse kenny (<33333 the actual loml btw) i just feel like sugu would make such a good doctor :0 and again, this one ties back to his whole thing abt wanting to protect and nurture. it’s just natural to him!!! he smells fresh and minty and he’s so kind to everyone he speaks to. so reassuring. probably has heavy eyebags but they’re hidden under many layers of makeup.. sometimes he works so hard that a colleague will have to physically drag him out of the hospital LMAO.
i just think he’s so, so kind. especially with a patient who’s heavily injured or suffering from an illness…. he just has such a soothing, quiet voice and he tells you everything will be alright :(( and he means it too!! he tries his absolute best for every patient. sob…. we really don’t deserve him………
4/ barista
HEAR ME OUT. this one is entirely self-indulgent okay…. but like…… just the thought of him working in a quaint little café or bakery . makes me insane. IMAGINE…. stepping into a cute café just to see him smiling at you from the counter. and he takes your order and chats with you while making your drink. just so polite n sweet :((( unfortunately he’s cursed w the most obvious customer service smile and voice LMAOO but when you become a regular he starts to sound a lot more genuine!!
i just think he belongs . behind the counter. in a café…….. it makes sense to me . especially for a uni au sugu. he loves making drinks and he’s so good at it too. always smells lightly of chai. and wears cozy sweaters. i need him bad
