CURIOSITIES
1-Remake of a French movie: Cible émouvante (1993).
2-The plot involves a painting of Rembrandt, a character played by MF in the movie Nightwatching.
3-The character of MF (Hector Dixon), is paired with Peter Guillam of the movie Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011). Impossible not to love the killer/spy dynamic. <3

FACTS & STATS: Alonso beats Schumacher record for longest first-last podium interval
The weather made sure the Dutch Grand Prix was a breathless affair from start to finish, but once the spray had settled the numbers showed plenty of records being matched or equalled – and not just by race winners Max Verstappen and Red Bull…
• Today’s was the first Dutch Grand Prix ever to be red-flagged.
• Verstappen’s ninth consecutive win tied the Formula 1 championship record held by Sebastian Vettel – also with Red Bull.
• It was also the 12th consecutive time Verstappen has won when starting from pole position, tying Michael Schumacher's record set between San Marino 2003 and Japan 2004.
REPORT: Verstappen overcomes wet-weather chaos to make it a hat-trick of Dutch GP wins and equal Vettel’s victory record
• Verstappen’s 11th win of the season surpasses his total in his first title year in 2021 and matches the most scored by Lewis Hamilton in any season.
• Verstappen has now led 628 laps this season, more than he led in 2022 (616), and the seventh-highest total in history (just 111 short of Vettel's record).
• Verstappen remains unbeaten at Zandvoort in his lifetime.
A welcome podium return for Pierre Gasly
• With P2 today, Fernando Alonso secured his seventh podium of 2023 and extended his gap over Hamilton in third place in the championship (they were separated by one point before today).
• That P2 for Alonso breaks Michael Schumacher's F1 record (7,399 days) for the longest interval between first and last career podium finishes (Alonso's first podium was Malaysia 2003).
• With his P2 combined with fastest lap, Alonso has now scored more points for Aston Martin in the first 13 races this year (168) than he did in his previous two seasons at Alpine (162).
DRIVER OF THE DAY: Alonso gets your nod after scintillating Zandvoort drive
• Today Aston Martin finished on the podium at Zandvoort for the first time, 64 years after making their F1 debut on this track with Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby.
• Pierre Gasly’s P3 for Alpine was his first podium finish since Azerbaijan 2021.
• He did, however, notably finish third in the F1 Sprint in Belgium immediately before the summer break.
• Gasly had been pointless in the three previous Grands Prix.
• In the second Red Bull, Sergio Perez took P4 and lost a podium finish thanks to a five-second time penalty for speeding in the pit lane.
Alex Albon was not to be denied another points finish
• Carlos Sainz’s P5 for Ferrari was his best-ever finish at Zandvoort.
• Lewis Hamilton took sixth for Mercedes and has still only finished outside the top six once this season (eighth in Austria).
• With P7 for McLaren, Lando Norris finished in the same position for the second consecutive race.
• It also matched his 2022 Dutch Grand Prix result.
WATCH: Zhou Guanyu's crash and heavy rain brings out the red flags at the Dutch GP
• Taking P8 for Williams, Alex Albon secured his third top-eight finish in the last six races.
• Oscar Piastri took P9 for McLaren, scoring two points on his manager Mark Webber's 47th birthday.
• Esteban Ocon completed the points with P10 for Alpine – he has finished ninth, ninth and 10th in three Zandvoort starts.

GRÉGOIRE HETZEL
BIOGRAPHIE

*It's a remake of a French movie: Cible émouvante (1993).
**The plot involves a forged painting of Rembrandt, a character played by MF in the movie Nightwatching, years before.
***For reasons, which we will not go into, the character of MF (Hector Dixon), is paired in the internet, with Peter Guillam of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011). Resulting in interesting art and fanfiction <3
A widow discovers that her husband sent an innocent man to jail to cover-up his own crimes.
Great, funny opening. But once Antoine gets introduced, when he's released from prison, it gets increasingly difficult. Usually, I enjoy absurdist situations. But when Antoine has violent outbursts, it's just not funny. The somewhat realistic story elements and the absurd and often silly elements often just don't mesh.
A reason to watch is Adèle Haenel, who clearly is enjoying the opportunity to play a much different character compared to her otherwise predominantly serious roles.
FACTS AND STATS: Perez matches Alesi as Alonso grabs best Aston Martin start since the 1950s
A thrilling qualifying under the lights in Jeddah saw Sergio Perez grab pole in dramatic circumstances after his team mate dropped out in Q2. Max Verstappen has been the heavy favourite after topping all three practice sessions, but a transmission issue derailed his qualifying much earlier than planned. Here are all the best facts and stats from qualifying in Saudi Arabia…
Sergio Perez joins Jean Alesi as the only drivers in history to have multiple career pole positions but all at the same venue (Alesi has two career poles, both at Monza).
Fernando Alonso will move up into Aston Martin’s second front row start in their history – Roy Salvadori started second for them at the 1959 British Grand Prix at Aintree.
George Russell will start third, Mercedes having not managed to get a car into the top three until the 13th race in 2022.
Carlos Sainz will be fourth, the same position he started in Bahrain.
Lance Stroll starts fifth, matching his best start of 2022, achieved in Austin.

Russell starts on the second row in Jeddah
Esteban Ocon will be P6, having finished in the top six in both previous races at this track.
Lewis Hamilton qualified eight but starts seventh, having been out-qualified by his team mate at both races this season. He also started from P7 in Bahrain.
Oscar Piastri will be eighth and Pierre Gasly ninth. They both made Q3, having both exited in Q1 in Bahrain.
Nico Hulkenberg out-qualified his team mate for the second straight race.
Zhou Guanyu was 12th, matching his team mate’s starting berth from Bahrain.

Verstappen has never won from 15th on the grid
Verstappen has started 15th twice in his career, in Bahrain in 2015 and 2018. He retired from both races.
Only one race has ever been won from 15th on the grid – Alonso in Singapore in 2008.
Lando Norris suffered only his second Q1 elimination of his career, to go with Germany 2019.

Yuki Tsunoda was out in Q1 in Jeddah for the second year in a row.
Nyck de Vries was also knocked out in Q1, the first time both AlphaTauri cars were out at the first time of asking since Hungary last year.
Logan Sargeant’s deleted lap time of 1m 29.721s would have been good enough for Q2.
