So many plotpoints I just don't understand in this arc. Why have bkg die? Why have him fight afo? Why have izuku lose his arms? What purpose has any of it served???? At all???????

Todorki and ochakos fights were handled so well and streamlined and benefited their characters and arcs but bkgs and dekus have been a mess all bcus hori is a coward who won't just let them fight together bcus ig save to win and win to save meant nothing at all

Why have bkg die?

I think it's pretty clear from the way that whole thing was framed that the purpose of Katsuki dying was symbolic. This is a staple of Japanese drama running all the way back to kabuki. It is a trope for a main character to die to shed their mortal incarnation and come back to life as their deified form. Katsuki's death runs perfectly parallel to Tomura's from the PLW arc right down to the part where they are both responsible for their own resurrections. It's probably one of the best cases I can think of where a character's death actually did further that same character's arc without fridging them for the sake of someone else.

Why have [Katsuki] fight AFO?

Because AFO was set up as a "what if" scenario or cautionary tale for Katsuki, the other side to his "villains and heroes are two sides of the same coin" storyline. AFO in his physical form has a different character arc and story utility from AFO the quirk vestige. He provided a lot of backstory that allows us to infer the subtlety of how Katsuki is likely some sort of reincarnation of Kudou, the mechanics of which we will never need to revisit because they're unimportant. It was about karma and personal growth. It was about showcasing how Katsuki is an heir to many legacies, All Might's included.

Why have Izuku lose his arms?

Again, it's symbolic. It's been foreshadowed pretty heavily that Izuku would risk losing his arms in reaching out to save someone. This was a demonstration of his willingness to take on that risk. It also provides a moment for Eri to get in on the "everyone contributes a little bit to the fight" action all the other characters have been allowed to have. We don't even know yet what state Izuku will actually be in when this is all over, so it'd be premature to jump to any major conclusions about all of this. The story may still have a lot to say about this.

What purpose has any of it served???? At all???????

Eh, it's fine. I don't think Ash and May have that much going for them tbh, but I can see why people would like them as a couple (they're very similar in some aspects so I sorta get it).

Red: He's not always the best with words, and he tends to show his support more through physical affection anyways. When he sees just how much this helps to calm you, he's honestly relieved that he can at least do that much when his words may not be helpful. He'll also, of course, pull out the head pats when you're both cuddling just to see your cute sleepy face.

Bear: He can't relate to the feeling, with his injury, but he probably finds this out and then forgets about it a few times just to rediscover it again - it'll eventually stick. He loves to play with your hair if you allow, so... chances are you're in for lots of sleepy, relaxing cuddles.

Coffee: He also loves head pats/pets and will purr up a storm if you show affection like that. When he finds out that you like them just as much (if not more) - he'll pull them out much more often. He likes to pay attention to and remember the small things like this about you. It's just one of the ways he shows he loves you.

Midas: So. He's kind of a turd (affectionate), and will definitely tease you about this little quirk of yours while taking advantage of the sleepy-state it puts you in so you can't retaliate. However, that's all just in lighthearted fun, and he also pats at your head in soft moments too, just because he loves you.

It still doesn’t make sense to me. Why did Project Lambda only have one test subject? Giving up over a single failure isn’t very scientific.

// biggest reason is that it's fiction and sometimes you need to suspend your disbelief. the story element in question is semi-common in the source material, the games. but it's not about Atticus at all, it's about the scientists behind it, mostly Steven. the story hasn't told you this in concrete terms, but it has alluded to it. Steven and Roxanne are considered by the other staff to be directly responsible for what happened to Atticus, and you know at the beginning of chapter 5 that Steven used to be very cocky. she was reckless and chose samples that looked impressive so she could show off, and she didn't listen to advice or let anyone talk her down. she says, "And if any of my colleagues are watching this, I told you so." the Project is considered a failure because it's unscientific.

I have a quick question if that’s ok: in the last one (the last straw for Ladybug) what is the “moja”? Is it a separate word, or just another diminutive addition?

There's really no way to translate what Chat calls Ladybug in that last panel but if I had to try I'd go with something like

"spotted little dot tiny ladybug my bugaboo-ling-ie-ling"

I’m slightly confused by Katsuki’s sweat bead bomb (?) move against AFO. He says he fired his sweat hoping something else might trigger a delayed explosion. Is it ever said what did end up triggering the sweat? Was it AFO’s super fuckoff combo ?

Nope we're never told what was the specific trigger. Probably a good jostle, but I like to think it was heartburn.

Do you think the anime should have made Ash capture more Pokemon in each generation so that he would be forced to learn how to rotate before the Pokemon League? The few rotations he did over certain seasons were very unbalanced and absolute failures. I like to imagine that he would catch more than 5 Pokemon in Paldea and would have to learn how to rotate.

In the anime? No.

We saw what happened in Kanto, Johto and Unova and how if you aren't a starter you can say goodbye to any screentime. What was done from Kalos onwards was the best course of action (even if Kalos still suffered a lot of the starter syndrome with how much screen time was given to Greninja and no one else)

What I would have liked for the anime was more seasons like Battle Frontier, where Ash rotated between the pokemon he already had and only caught very few new ones. Journeys was an ideal place for that, specially to balance with Goh's constant catches (and how out of place Gengar and Dragonite feel as Ash's mons) but I digress.

Now for fan stuff? If you think you can write Ash with more than 6 pokes at time, go for it!

You don't need to keep the starters in the team at all times like the anime did so that already gives you much more wriggling room to mix and match and give everyone the same ammount of attention!
