#Pillars of La Ilaha Illa Allah
🍂🥀🍂 Visiting the Shrine of the Holy Prophet (S)
The method of visiting the shrine of the Holy Prophet (S) is as follows:
When you arrive in the holy city of al-Madinah, you may bathe yourself, preparing yourself for the ziyarah. When you intend to enter The Holy Prophet’s (S) Mosque, you should stop at the door of the mosque and say the FIRST form of asking permission for entering there (which has been mentioned in the previous chapter). You may enter from the Gate of Archangel Gabriel (Bab Jibra’il) preceding the right foot to the left.
You may then repeat one hundred times:
اَللَّهُ اكْبَرُ
You may then offer the two unit prayer of Greeting the Mosque (tahiyyat al-masjid). After that, you may walk to the holy chamber that includes the tomb of the Holy Prophet.
There, you may touch it with your hand, kiss it, and say the following:
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ
alssalamu `alayka ya rasula allahi
Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah.
alssalamu `alayka ya nabiyya allahi
Peace be upon you, O Prophet of Allah.
alssalamu `alayka ya muhammadu bna `abdillahi
Peace be upon you, O Muhammad the son of `Abdullah.
alssalamu `alayka ya khatama alnnabiyyina
Peace be upon you, O Seal of the Prophets.
ashhadu annaka qad ballaghta alrrisalata
I bear witness that you conveyed the Mission,
wa aqamta alssalata
performed the prayers,
wa atayta alzzakata
gave alms,
wa amarta bilma`rufi
enjoined the right,
wa nahayta `an almunkari
forbade the wrong,
wa `abadta allaha mukhlisan hatta ataka alyaqinu
and served Almighty Allah sincerely until death came upon you.
fasalawatu allahi `alayka wa rahmatuhu
Blessings and mercy of Allah be upon you
wa `ala ahli baytika alttahirina
and upon your Household, the Immaculate.
You may then stand near the fore pillar on the right hand side of the tomb with the minbar to your right, facing the kiblah, and this is where the Holy Prophet’s head rests. You may then say the following:
اشْهَدُ انْ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ
ashhadu an la ilaha illa allahu wahdahu la sharika lahu
I bear witness that there is no god save Allah, One and Only and having no associate,
wa ashhadu anna muhammadan `abduhu wa rasuluhu
and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.
wa ashhadu annaka rasulu allahi
I bear witness that you are the messenger of Allah
wa annaka muhammadu bnu `abdillahi
and you are Muhammad the son of `Abdullah.
wa ashhadu annaka qad ballaghta risalati rabbika
I bear witness that you have conveyed the messages of your Lord,
wa nasahta li'ummatika
offered your people good advice,
wa jahadta fi sabili allahi
striven hard in the way of Allah,
wa `abadta allaha hatta ataka alyaqinu
worshipped Allah -until death came upon you-
bilhikmati walmaw`izati alhasanati
with wisdom and fair exhortation,
wa addayta alladhi `alayka min alhaqqi
fulfilled the duty that was incumbent upon you,
wa annaka qad ra'ufta bilmu'minina
acted compassionately to the believers,
wa ghaluzta `ala alkafirina
and been firm of heart against the unbelievers.
faballgha allahu bika afdala sharafi mahalli almukarramina
Therefore, Almighty Allah has exalted you to the most honorable position of the ennobled ones.
alhamdu lillahi alladhi istanqadhana bika min alshshirki walddalalati
All praise be to Allah Who has saved us, through you, from polytheism and error.
allahumma faj`al salawatika wa salawati mala'ikatika almuqarrabina
O Allah, (please do) pour Your blessings and the blessings of Your Archangels,
wa anbiya'ika almursalina
Your commissioned Prophets,
wa `ibadika alssalihina
Your righteous servants,
wa ahli alssamawati wal-aradina
the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth,
wa man sabbaha laka ya rabba al`alamina
and all those who glorified You, O Lord of the Worlds,
min al-awwalina wal-akhirina
from the past and the coming generations,
`ala muhammadin `abdika wa rasulika
on Muhammad—Your servant, Your Messenger,
wa nabiyyika wa aminika
Your Prophet, Your Trustee,
wa najiyyika wa habibika
Your Confidant, Your Most Beloved,
wa safiyyika wa khassatika
Your Choice, Your Select,
wa safwatika wa khiyaratika min khalqika
Your elite, and the best of Your creation.
allahumma a`tihi alddarajata alrrafi`ata
O Allah, (please do) confer upon him with the Elevated Rank,
wa atihi alwasilata min aljannati
grant him the right of intercession for entering Paradise,
wab`athhu maqaman mahmudan yaghbituhu bihi al-awwaluna wal-akhiruna
and raise him to a Position of Glory that all the past and the coming generations will wish to have.
allahumma innaka qulta
O Allah, You have said,
«وَلَوْ انَّهُمْ إِذْ ظَلَمُوا انْفُسَهُمْ جَاؤُوكَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوٱ ٱللَّهَ
walaw annahum idh zalamu anfusahum ja'uka fastaghfaru allaha
“And had they, when they were unjust to themselves, come to you and asked forgiveness of Allah
wastaghfara lahum alrrasulu
and the Messenger had (also) asked forgiveness for them,
lawajadu allaha tawwaban rahiman
they would have found Allah Oft-returning (to mercy), Merciful.”
wa inni ataytuka mustaghfiran ta'iban min dhunubi
Here I am, before you, asking Allah’s forgiveness, repenting from my sins,
wa inni atawajjahu bika ila allahi rabbi wa rabbika liyaghfira li dhunubi
and seeking your intercession for me before Almighty Allah—your and my Lord—that He may forgive my sins.
🍂 If you have a certain request to pray Almighty Allah for granting it, you may stand before the holy tomb and make it between your shoulders, face the direction of kiblah, raise your hands, and pray for the settlement of your need, for it is predictable that your need will be settled, Allah willing.
Ibn Qawlawayh, through a considerable chain of authority, has reported Muhammad ibn Mas`ud as saying that he, once, saw Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (as) coming near the tomb of the Holy Prophet (S), putting his hand on it, and saying these words:
اسْالُ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِي ٱجْتَبَاكَ وَٱخْتَارَكَ
as'alu allaha alladhi ijtabaka wakhtaraka
I pray Allah -Who has chosen you, selected you,
wa hadaka wa hada bika
guided you, and guided (others) through you-
an yusalliya `alayka
to bless You.
🍂 The Imam (as) then recited this holy verse:
«إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَىٰ ٱلنَّبِيِّ
inna allaha wa mala'ikatahu yusalluna `ala alnnabiyyi
“Surely, Allah and His angels bless the Prophet;
O you who believe! Call for (Divine) blessings on him and salute him with a (becoming) salutation.”
🍂 In Misbah al-Mutahajjid, Shaykh al-Tusi says: When you finish praying near the tomb (of the Holy Prophet), you may come to the minbar, (1)pass your hand over it, hold the two lower pommels, and then rub your face and eyes, for this brings about eye healing. You may then offer prayers there, praise and thank Almighty Allah, and ask for the settlement of your needs. In this respect, the Holy Prophet (S) is reported to have said,
“The area between my tomb and my minbar is one of the gardens of Paradise. My minbar is situated at one of the gates of Paradise.” You may then come near the standing-place of the Holy Prophet (S (maqam al-nabi) and offer as many prayers as possible therein. You may also offer as many prayers as possible in the Holy Prophet’s Mosque, for the reward of one prayer herein is equal to the reward of one thousand prayers (offered at other places). Whenever you enter or leave the Mosque, you may invoke Almighty Allah’s blessings upon the Holy Prophet (S). You may also offer prayers at the House of Lady Fatima (sa). You may also visit the standing-place of Archangel Gabriel (maqam jibra’il), which lies under the waterspout. At this very place, Archangel Gabriel used to stay after he would ask permission of the Holy Prophet (S). At this place, you may say the following:
اسْالُكَ ايْ جَوَادُ
as'aluka ay jawadu
I beseech You, O All-magnanimous,
ay karimu
O All-generous,
ay qaribu
O Nigh,
ay ba`idu
O Remote,
an tarudda `alayya ni`mataka
to renew Your boons to me.
🍂🥀🍂 Farewell Ziyarat 🍂🥀🍂

" ASHHADU ALLA ILAHA Illallah "
◽Ashhadu Alla Ilaha Illallah
▫️The phrase “ashhadu alla ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna muhammadarrasulullah” is known as the shahada (testament to faith) and is has a significant importance in Islam.
▫️It is a represents a fundamental concept of Islam being one of the five pillars, it’s also recited by Muslims daily during the five obligatory prayers, it is a necessary statement that must be said and understood by people who convert to Islam, and it is a form of prayer (dhikr) which should be said during ablution (wudu).
◽WHAT EXACTLY DOES ASHHADU ALLA ILAHA ILLALLAH MEAN?
▫️The meaning of ashadualla ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna muhammadarrasulullah is “I bear witness that there is no deity (none truly to be worshipped) but, Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah”.
◽These are two testaments or professions to one’s faith:
▫️la ilaha illa llah
There is no deity but Allah.
▫️Muhammadur Rasulullah
Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.
IN ARABIC:
▫️Pronounced: Ash-hadu alla ilaha illallah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadar-Rasulullah
◽SAID TO BECOME A MUSLIM
▫️To join the Muslim Ummah you would recite the shahada and have 2 witnesses present. Now, having witnesses are not strictly required to convert — Allah knows all things, so a Shahada said alone, with conviction, would make you a Muslim. To become legally recognized in your local mosque and get acquainted with those in your community, you generally must make your Shahada in front of witnesses—two Muslims or an Imam. A complete understanding of the Shahada must be understood and said sincerely in order for the conversion to be taken seriously. Tricking other non-muslims to recite this phrase in a joking manner does not establish them a Muslim.
◽SAID DURING PRAYER (SALAT)
▫️During salat before the taslim (concluding portion of prayer where you recite salam) you would recite attahiyat. This dua also contains the testament of faith while you raise the index finger signifying the Tawhid or the oneness of Allah.
▫️At-Tahiy-yatu lil-lahi was-salawatu wat-tay yibatu, As-Salamy ‘alika ay-yuhan-nabiy-yu wa rahma tullahi wa barakatu, As salamu ‘alayna wa ‘ala ‘ibadil-la his-saliheen ashadu an la ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna muhammadan rasulu llah.
◽ALSO TO BE RECITED DURING WUDU
▫️It is the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad to recite Shahada during Wudu.
▫️It was narrated that ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab said:
◽“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Whoever performs Wudu’ and does it well, then says: “Ashhadu an la ilaha ill-Allah was ashhadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasuluh (I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is his slave and Messenger),” eight gates of Paradise will be opened for him, and he may enter through whichever one he wishes.'”
Grade: Sahih (Darussalam)
Sunan An Nasai (632) and Sunan Ibn Majah (470)
▫️To a devout and practicing Muslim this one phrase would be said and heard multiple times a day as remembrance of Allah Azzawajal and his messenger.
▫️“Verily, the hypocrites seek to deceive Allah, but it is He Who deceives them. And when they stand up for As-Salat (the prayer), they stand with laziness and to be seen of men, and they do not remember Allah but little” An-Nisa ayat142
▫️Let us not get lazy and understand the meaning of what we are saying and not just pay lip service to these words.
“Take on only as much as you can do of good deeds, for the best of deeds is that which is done consistently, even if it is little.”
– Sunan Ibn Majah 4240

"Shahad and Hudud." From Surah 2, Al Baqarah, "the Heifer."
Most people think Allah looks like the Ayatollah Khomenei, like some kind of Furious George:
Tumblr media
This is because of a grossly misunderstood Quran. A few verses will help straighten out how Allah is and where the errors have come from. First there are a few binding declarations within something called Al Shahada, the "statement of faith used in Islam to create a portrait of Allah 100% of Muslims agree upon:
What is the Shahada?
The Shahada (shahadah) is the Arabic term for the declaration of faith in one God (Allah) and His messenger. Shah means the Lord, had means "to possess, to reign, to submit to."
What does the Shahada mean?
Transliteration: “Ash-hadu an la ilaha illa Allah, Wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan Rasulu-Allah.”
Translation:  “I bear witness that there is no God but God (Allah – i.e. there is none worthy of worship but Allah), and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”
It is the most sacred statement in Islam, and must be recited with full understanding and mindfulness of it’s meaning.
The tone in the Quran towards Allah's sole single supremacy gets hot under the collar readily, and quite suddenly the Most Merciful sounds much more like the Most Merciless.
There are very specific instructions in Baqarah that shape how one is to know the mind of Allah and whether or not there is an Allah (a) or an Allah (b), one that is kind and one that loses its temper.
To qualify and quantify which Allah is the right one, I added Hudud "the Boundaries" to the Pillars of Islam. One must observe the rules of society and the obligations named in the Quran in order to be enthroned with Allah.
One who claims strict monotheistic loyalty to Allah but behaves like a fiend or a demoniac must be punished as this is, by default the creation of an alternate Allah that competes with the Real Allah and that is a sin. It must be punished severely so the Names of Allah remain pure.
The Quran addresses this with great clarity:
2:163-166:
And your god is one God. There is no deity [worthy of worship] except Him, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the [great] ships which sail through the sea with that which benefits people, and what Allah has sent down from the heavens of rain, giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every [kind of] moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and the earth are signs for a people who use reason.
And [yet], among the people are those who take other than Allah as equals [to Him]. They love them as they [should] love Allah. But those who believe are stronger in love for Allah . And if only they who have wronged would consider [that] when they see the punishment, [they will be certain] that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah is severe in punishment.
[And they should consider that] when those who have been followed disassociate themselves from those who followed [them], and they [all] see the punishment, and cut off from them are the ties [of relationship],
And if only they who have wronged would consider [that] when they see the punishment, [they will be certain] that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah is severe in punishment. And they should consider that] when those who have been followed disassociate themselves from those who followed [them], and they [all] see the punishment, and cut off
Crimes must be punished according to secular laws. This allows us to see the saint and the sinner out in the open. Failure to observe secular laws, which are approximately the same all around the world permit madmen and thieves to oppress, conquer, steal, rape, and destroy without recompense. Men who do these things and claim the Shahada are committing blasphemy and they cannot be tolerated.
Through the Fatihah, Hajj, Qiblah, Zakah, Sawm, Salat, Sadaq, Haram. etc. we come to know the real Allah such as He resides within the Quran. These should be performed at the level of one's very best.
Secular laws, however, according to the Pillar of Hudud must be perfectly enforced. This is the only way to protect the Shahada from blasphemy and protect the faithful while they perform Qiblah, Tawaf, etc. and actually illustrate Allah, AKA those Seated First.

La Ilaha Illa Allah, its Meanings, Benefits and Virtues Umar bin Abdul Aziz delivered the sermon (excerpts follow) on assuming the leadership of the Muslims and highlights the importance of living by the tenets of Lá iláha illAllah. All praise is due to Alláh, Who opened the doors of knowledge to those who strived in His worship by granting them the key that is Lá iláha illallah (there is no deity worthy of worship except Alláh). He resurrected the hearts of the knowledgeable worshippers and filled the cups of those who always remember Him from the fountain of Lá iláha illallah. He perfected the creation, brought them into existence and sealed this perfection with Lá iláha illallah. He Who created the fetus from a worthless fluid (semen) so that mankind may worship Him with Lá iláha illalláh. He sent the Messengers to deliver the good news of this Word Lá iláha illalláh and to warn against whatever contradicts it and to understand its implications. Lá iláha illalláh is the pillar of the religion and the Thick Rope of Alláh; those who adhere to Lá iláha illalláh will never earn failure. Verily, the minds of the ignorant ones were led astray and the hearts of the stubborn infidels have earned misguidance on account of their taking two gods, even after the full moon of Lá iláha illallah has risen. “So know (O. Muhammad SAW) that Laa ilaaha illAllah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), and ask forgiveness for your sin, and also for (the sin of) believing men and believing women.” Quran (47:19) Muhammad (peace be upon him) embraced this word and declared it. So! Fear Alláh the Exalted and renew your faith by night and by day by contemplating the meanings of Lá iláha illalláh. O you who have wisdom! Seek your means of (eternal) success granted only to the people of Lá iláha illalláh. Surely, Lá iláha illalláh is the Word of Islam and the key to the Dwelling of Peace (Paradise). Verily, the heavens and earth would never have remained, nor would anyone acquire safety on the Day of Gathering except by Lá iláha illalláh. The humankind divided into two parts and went two separate ways: a group of them adhered to Lá iláha illalláh and the other group strayed away from it. They refused it because they knew that the religion of their ancestors would be annulled if they embraced Lá iláha illalláh. All praise is due to He Who made His slaves different from each other with His Wisdom and Will. Indeed, this is one of the proofs to Lá iláha illalláh. Tuba (a tree in Paradise) is for those who know the meaning of this testimonial, agree with it and practice its implication inwardly and outwardly. By doing so, they would be realizing and tasting the true essence of Lá iláha illalláh. Verily, woe to those who were driven by the devil to fall into polytheism! They became filled to the top with associating others with Alláh in worship and consequently refused with arrogance to submit to Lá iláha illalláh. Have you not heard Alláh’s Statement: “And those whom they invoke instead of Him have no power of intercession; except those who bear witness to the truth (i.e. believed in the Oneness of Allah, and obeyed His Orders), and they know (the facts about the Oneness of Allah).” Quran (43:86)

ISLAM 101: Basic Islamic Phrases: Part 3
Islamic Terms
Ansar: The helpers. The basic reference is to the new Muslims of Medina who helped the Prophet and the Meccan Muslims after they fled Mecca.
Arabic: A language which originated in the Middle East, specifically in the Arabian peninsula. It is the language Allah chose to reveal His last revelation to the world in.
Arkan al Islami: This means the Pillars of Islam. There are five main practices or “pillars” in the life of a Muslim.

Aqidah: Theology
Assalamu 'alaykum: “Peace be upon you.” This is the universal Muslim greeting. The Prophet said that Muslims must use this greeting when they meet. There are also verses in the Qur'an about it. If a person approaches a group, the person should say it first. A younger person should greet an older person first. The reply is “Wa alaykum assalam.” “And upon you be peace.”
Ayah: A verse of the Qur'an. The word literally means a “sign.” The plural is Ayat.
Barzakh: The time in between our death and the day we are raised up for judgment. Our souls will be in “storage"or Barzakh. The word literally means, “Partition” or “Dividing Line.” The stage after our death leading on till the day of judgement.

Barakah: Blessing
Bid'a: This means “Innovation” or “Unauthorized Changes.” The Prophet forbade people from making any changes to the teachings or practices of Islam. He said such things and people would go to the Hell fire.So it is essential that we all keep away from deviant sects and the innovators of Islam who mask themselves as being on the straight path but are certainly not.Always stick the the Qur'an and Strong Hadith from the opinion of the majority of scholars.
Da'wah: This means calling or inviting people (to Islam). If you’re talking to someone about Islam you’re doing Da'wah. A Da'i is the person who does Da'wah.
Deen: Way of Life. Islam is not a religion, it’s a complete way of life.
Dhikr (Thzikr): This means to remember Allah. When you repeat words or sentences over and over so you can meditate on Allah and his greatness in the vast universe he has created and this earth which he has made just for us as a test ground but we will all return to him.Meditate about all these things whilest praising the lord and cleanse your mind, you are doing or making dhikr. Common dhikr phrases are: “La ilaha illa Allah” (There is no god but Allah.) “Subahanullah wa Bihumdeehee”(Glory to Allah and His is the Praise.) “Alhamdolillah” (all praise be to allah). “Allahu akbar” (allah is the greatest). Saying that last one 100 times gets all your sins forgiven according to the Blessed Prophet. There are many more. Many Muslims like to get those prayer beads to help them keep count but the Prophet said you get more reward if you do it on your fingers alone.
Du'a: This means to call on Allah. Its supplication when one supplicates to the lord. Whenever you ask Allah for something, whether out loud or inside, you are calling on Him. You can make du'a in any words, in any language and Allah has promised to respond, although in a way we might not expect. Many Muslims like to learn some of the du'as that the Prophet said, but you can use your own words to talk to your Maker.
Dunya: This world. “Hayatud Dunya”: “The life of this world.”
'Eid: (Or: 'Id.) The Muslim holiday. There are two Eid’s. One at the end of fasting in Ramadan is called Eid ul Fitr. The other after the Hajj is over is called Eid ul Adh ha.
Fardh: Something you must do in Islam. An act which is obligatory on us to complete or fulfill. Something that is required by Allah for us to do.
Fatwa: A scholar’s opinion or judgment on an issue related to Islam. It is not binding on a Muslim if there is doubt about it or it can be shown to be faulty. Only a recognized scholar, or 'Alim can issue Fatwas and other scholars must investigate the veracity of their basis.

Fatwa: A legal opinion of a Muslim jurist (i.e. Muslim law)
Fiqh: The science of understanding the Shari'ah. In the past small groups of people with similar opinions about the Shari'ah joined together and formed intellectual clubs called a Math-hab. Today there are five big groupings of these Madh-habs. Shaf’, Hanbali, Maliki, Jafari and Hanafi. Not all Muslims accept the Jafari school as valid due to technical reasons. A Muslim can follow the ideas of any one of them or none of them at all. After all, we have the Qur'an, the sayings of the Prophet, the sayings of his companions and our brains. Don’t be afraid to use them.
Ghusl: A full shower. A Ghusl is required after any sexual discharge or activity before prayers can be offered again. A Ghusl is highly recommended on Fridays before going to Jum'ah prayers.
Hadith: A saying or report by or about the Blessed Prophet. The most reliable collections of Hadith are named after the scholars who collected them in the early days of Islam and checked on them for accuracy. They are: Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, An Nisa'i, Ibn Majah. There are some good books that take Hadiths from the main six and group them by topic. Those good resource books are as follows: “Riyadh as Saliheen”“Mishkat ul Masabih” and “Al Muwatta.”
Hafiz: (Hafithz) A memorizer or guardian of the entire Qur'an.A person who’s memorised the whole Qur'an by heart.
Hajj: The pilgrimage to Mecca that one is required to do once in a life time if one can afford it.
Halal: Allowed for a Muslim.
Haram: Forbidden for a Muslim.
Hijab: The scarf a woman wears over her head. Some Muslims who like to compromise their beliefs say it’s not required in Islam and they are very wrong and have no knowledge of their Islam. It is obligatory on women to cover as is said to us by our lord for a women to protect her chastity and keep her respect because a women who shows off her beauty and bodily definitions is certainly not respected in the eyes of a man rather looked at in a sexual way. So Islam has the utmost honour and respect for women and given them such a high position in society compared with the west which is quite the opposite. The face-veil (niqab) is entirely up to the individual and it depends on the level of faith of the sister whether she wants to wear it or not although a lot of scholars do say it should be worn because Allah also told the women in the Prophet’s family in the Qur'an to wear the veil and if he told them to wear it then it should also be worn by all Muslim women but other scholars say it is preferable but not compulsory.

Hajj and Tawheed
Tumblr media
Hajj and Tawheed - Hajj is one of the 5 pillars of Islam and an act of worship that must be devoted only to Allah. It is a declaration and a manifestation of the belief in the Oneness (tawheed) of Allah. It is a time to call upon Allah to purify the self from any worship to other than Him. The Muslim who declares the talbiyah: (Labbaika allaahumma labbaik. labbaika laa shareeka laka labbaik; innal-hamda wan-ni’mata laka wal mulk, laa shareeka lak) understands that it is a du’aa that means: “Here I am O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Surely all praise is due to You, and every bounty is from You, and all dominion is Yours, and You have no partner.” The Muslim, therefore, should submit himself completely (mentally, spiritually, and physically) to Allah Alone. No worship should be devoted to statues, tombs, religious leaders, righteous men (dead or alive) or any part of the creation! The tawheed of Allah requires the Muslim to follow the perfect way of worship. This is the way (sunnah) of Muhammad sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam as understood by the sahaabah (the companions of the Prophet sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam), who were the best of mankind. With 'Eid Al Adh'ha being the next holiday for the Muslim ummah and arriving within the next few months. We thought it important to share the importance Hajj has in regards to Tawheed and Islam in general. Our Shaykh, Dr. Saleh' As Saleh' (rahimahullah) shared important information about Hajj in this lecture below. Please study it and share as much as possible. Remember to donate to Nerd of Islam, as we need your generosity to continue to provide free and authentic Islamic knowledge online.
Hajj and Tawheed
Skip To Audio Lecture 1. This is a journey that was taken by Prophets and Messengers before you. Those who take the path of the Prophets magnify the tawheed of Allah and His House. There are those, however, who come to perform hajj and their hearts are attached to other than Allaah. They invoke the dead and the righteous, whether present or absent. This is the opposite of tawheed, it is shirk no matter what they call it because it is setting up rivals besides Allaah. So, free your intention from any kind of devotion to other than Allaah. Repent and come with a sincere heart submitting to Allaah remembering what Ibraheem and his son Ismaa’eel said when they were raising the foundations of Allah’s House, the ka’bah: “Our Lord! And make us submissive unto You and of our offspring a nation submissive unto You, and show us our Manasik (all the ceremonies of pilgrimage – Hajj and ‘Umrah, etc.), and accept our repentance. Truly, You are the One Who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful.” (Baqarah 2:128) 2. You are set to depart and you may or may not return to your home. Make this journey to Allaah’s House as Allaah wants it. Think of the next journey that is surely coming, the one that leads to the meeting of Allaah, Most High. This raises questions like: What did I prepare for that Day? Am I following Allaah’s Commands? Am I a follower of the sunnah of Muhammad salAllahu ‘alayhi wasallam? Do I really know of Allaah? Am I a believer that Allaah is above the seven heavens over his ‘arsh as He has stated in His Book and as His Messengers have asserted? Am I a believer that believes Allah has a true Face that suits His Majesty as He has affirmed in the Qur’aan and as has been affirmed by His Prophet Muhammad salAllaahu ‘alayhi wasallam? Am I a believer in all of Allaah’s Names, Attributes and Actions which He has affirmed in His Book and by His Messengers? Or do I just take and accept by my doubt, rejecting, or distorting the meanings of Allaah’s Attributes and Actions? And invoke not any other ilah (god) along with Allah, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). Everything will perish save His Face. His is the Decision, and to Him you (all) shall be returned. (Al-Qasas 28:88)
Hajj and Tawheed
3. Know, may Allaah’s Mercy be upon you, that when you reach the meeqaat there is another meeqaat that is still to come. It is the meeqaat (appointed meeting) on the Day of Ressurection: Say (O Muhammad salAllaahu ‘alayhi wasalaam): “(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day. (Al-Waqi’ah 56:49-50) 4. When you start the talbiyah remember the Command of Allaah ‘azza wa jall to the Prophet Ibraaheem ‘alayhi salaam: And proclaim to mankind the Hajj (pilgrimage). They will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, they will come from every deep and distant (wide) mountain highway (to perform Hajj). (Al-Hajj 22:27) The talbiyah you make is in response to the Prophet Ibraaheem’s proclamation to visit Allaah’s house of worship. Allaah is Most Great. 5. Upon entering Makkah remember that you are in the Secure Sanctuary: Have We not established for them a secure sanctuary (Makkah), to which are brought fruits of all kinds, a provision from Ourselves, but most of them know not. (Al-Qasas 28:57) Let one commit himself to repentance, having a good opinion of Allaah, hoping that Allaah will grant him security from His Punishment. 6. You will enter one of the gates of al-Masjid al-Haraam. Then there you are before the magnificent House of Allaah, Most High, the ka’bah. Now you see what you hoped to see for a long time. Thank Allaah subhanahu wa ta’ala for making this possible and hope that He ‘azza wa jall will grant you the greatest reward of seeing His Majestic Face on the Day of Resurrection. This thankfulness is not just in saying “alhamdu-lillaah,” but also by obeying Allaah while on hajj and for the rest of your life. 7. You start your tawaaf knowing that it is a great time for magnifying Allaah the Exalted. Remember Him ‘azza wa jall by His Names, Attributes and Actions. Also while in tawaaf try to reflect upon the time when Prophet Muhammad salAllaahu ‘alayhi wasallam was prevented from doing the same thing you are doing today. Then think about what he did in clearing out the site from the symbols signifying worship to other than Allaah! All idols were demolished. Busy yourself with du’aa. Ask Allaah, the Most Great, to make you hold to the correct belief and Path of the salaf and make you die on it. Ask Allaah to save you from all forms of shirk and bid’ah.
Hajj and Tawheed
8. While in sa’yi, contemplate on Haajar, the mother of Ismaa’eel, when she asked her husband Ibraaheem ‘alayhi salaam: “Did Allah order you to do this (leaving her and her baby Ismaa’eel in Makkah)? He said: “Yes.” Her great response was: “Then He (Allaah) will not neglect us!” Think about this great dependence upon Allaah when you are in the sa’yi walking the same path which Haajar took in search for water and for means of life around the mounts of Safa and Marwah.Think about her endurance, perseverance and trust in Allaah. The sa’yi exemplifies the strong belief that we are in need of One Who Sustains and Provides – Allaah, the Exalted. Think about Ibraaheem’s invocation on his way homeward to Palestine: O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in an uncultivable valley by Your Sacred House (the Ka’bah at Makkah); in order, O our Lord, that they may perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), so fill some hearts among men with love towards them, and (O Allah) provide them with fruits so that they may give thanks. (Ibrahim 14:37) Men and fruits came to Makkah from many places. Ibraaheem ‘alayhi salaam returned to visit and later to share with his son Ismaa’eel the noble task of raising the foundations of the ka’bah. 9. The standing on ‘Arafaat is the hajj. The crowds should remind you of the Day of Resurrection. Humble yourself to Allaah, manifest your ‘uboodiyyah to Him Alone through du’aa, sincere intention and strong determination to free yourself from the sins of the past and to build up a commitment to rush for doing what is good. Think of becoming a better person when you return. Rid yourself of false pride and showing off because it may ruin what you gain on this day. 10. You gathered the pebbles and you are about to embark on stoning the jamaraat. This is an act of obedience and remembrance of Allaah, Most Magnificent. The Prophet salAllaahu ‘alayhi wasallam said: “When you cast the small pebbles (i.e. at the jamaraat), it will be a light for you on the Day of Resurrection.” (1) 11. When performing the sacrifice remember the saying oh Allaah, the Most High: It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him. (Al-Hajj 22:37) 12. When you have completed your hajj, do not think that the remembrance of Allaah has ended. Listen to what Allah ‘azza wa jall says: So when you have accomplished your Manasik remember Allah as you remember your forefathers or with a far more remembrance. (Al-Baqarah 2:200) Special note: If you go to Madeenah then the objective of your visit should be according to the sunnah and not bid’ah. Your intention is to set on a journey to visit the Prophet’s mosque and not his grave. When you reach the mosque and you pray upon entering then you may go to the grave and say, “Assalamu ‘alayka ayyuhan-nabiyy.” (2) The same salaam is also mentioned when you pass by Abu Bakr and ‘Umar without innovations like: a. Visiting the grave of the Prophet salAllahu ‘alayhi wasallam before praying in the mosque. b. Making du’aa facing the grave. c. Seeking nearness to Allaah by means of the Prophet salAllaahu ‘alayhi wasallam. This is a prohibited form of tawassul. d. Seeking intercession from the Prophet salAllaahu ‘alayhi wasallam. e. Placing the hands upon the grills around the room containing the Prophet’s grave to seek blessings, etc. (3) Remember the Prophet’s salAllaahu ‘alayhi wasallam sayings: “Do not make my grave an ‘eed (place of celebration)…” (4) “May Allaah’s curse be on the Jews and Christians for taking the graves of their Prophets as places of worship.” (5) “Those before you took the graves of their Prophets as places of worship. Do not take graves as places of worship for verily I forbid you to do so.” (6) 13. The journey is not meant to gain any material reward. It is a selfless sacrifice solely for Allaah, Most Majestic. It demands true love and fear of Him. It should be performed with full consciousness of one’s heart, with full humility and submission to Allaah. It should not be thought of as a tourist-type excursion or be performed as mere physical rites. It develops sincerity, piety, humility, self-control, sacrifice, and true knowledge of the meaning of submission and obedience to Allaah, Most High. It helps the pilgrim to be a better person who is devoted to Allaah in every aspect of his life.

Footnotes: (1) Reported by Al-Bazzaar in his Zawaa’id (p. 113) on the authority of Ibn ‘Abbas. Al-Haafith Ibn Hajar reported that its isnaad is hasan. This hadeeth is reported by Shaykh Al-Albaani in his Silsilat al-Ahaadeeth as-Saheehah, V.6, hedeeth #2515 (2) The position of the scholars regarding visiting the gravesites by women can be summarized as follows: (a) Disliked but not unlawful, (b) Allowable, if done infrequently. If a woman is known as being unable to behave herself within the limits of sharee’ah at a gravesite, then she should be prevented from visiting the graves, (c) Forbidden, and (d) A grave sin Many scholars state that women visiting the Prophet’s mosque may pronounce the salaam upon the Prophet salAllaahu ‘alayhi wasallam wherever the person may be. The Prophet salAllahu ‘alayhi wasallam is in a state of barzakh (a state of existence that begins with death and lasts until the Day of Resurrection), the nature of which is only known to Allaah, Most High. 3. The Heart of Islam: Uncovering the Meaning and Significance of the Testimony of Faith
The Heart of Islam: Uncovering the Meaning and Significance of the Testimony of Faith
The testimony of faith, or shahada, is a central belief in Islam and is considered the first of the Five Pillars of Islam. It is a simple declaration of faith that states: “There is no god but God, and Muhammad is the messenger of God.” This declaration, known in Arabic as “La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammadur rasul Allah,” is considered the most important aspect of Islam and is required for anyone…

What Are the Pillars of Islam?
Summary of answer:
There are five pillars of Islam:
1- The testimony that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah;
2- Establishing regular prayer;
3- Paying the zakah;
4- Hajj (pilgrimage) and
5- Fasting Ramadan.

Islam is about beliefs and laws.
What are the 5 pillars of Islam?
The first pillar of Islam: al-Shahadatayn (the twin testimony of faith)
The second pillar of Islam: salah (prayer)
What are the five daily prayers in Islam?
What are the benefits of prayer in Islam?
The third pillar of Islam: zakah (poor due, ‘compulsory’ charity)

What is the rate of zakah?
Who is eligible to receive zakah in Islam?
The fourth pillar of Islam: sawm (fasting) in Ramadaan
What are the virtues of Ramadan?
Who must fast in Ramadan?
The fifth pillar of Islam: Hajj (pilgrimage)
Why do Muslims go for Hajj?
What are the conditions of Hajj?
Praise be to Allah.
Islam is about beliefs and laws.
Islam is based on five pillars which the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has explained for us. The Prophet  said: “Islam is built upon five [pillars]: the testimony that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; establishing regular prayer (salah); paying the zakah; Hajj (pilgrimage) and fasting Ramadan.”
(Agreed upon; narrated by al-Bukhaari, no. 8)
Islam is both belief and laws, in which Allah and His Messenger have told us what is halal and what is haram, morals and good manners, acts of worship and how to interact with people, rights and duties, and scenes of the resurrection. When Allah completed this religion, He chose it to be the way of life for all of mankind until the Hour begins:
“This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.” [al-Maidah 5:3 – interpretation of the meaning]
What are the 5 pillars of Islam?
These are the pillars of Islam and the principles upon which it is based:
The first pillar of Islam: al-Shahadatayn (the twin testimony of faith).
This means that a person believes that Allah alone is the Lord, Sovereign and Controller, the Creator and Provider. He affirms all His most beautiful names and the sublime attributes that Allah has affirmed for Himself or that His Prophet affirmed for Him. He believes that Allah alone, and no one else, is the Only One Who is deserving of worship, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth. How can He have children when He has no wife? He created all things and He is the All-Knower of everything.
Such is Allah, your Lord! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Creator of all things. So worship Him (Alone), and He is the Wakeel (Trustee, Disposer of affairs or Guardian) over all things.”
[al-An'am 6:101-102]
And he believes that Allah sent His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and revealed to him the Quran, and commanded him to convey this religion to all of mankind. He believes that loving Allah and His Messenger and obeying them are duties which are obligatory upon all of mankind, and that love of Allah can only be realized by following His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him):
“Say (O Muhammad to mankind): ‘If you (really) love Allah, then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Quran and the Sunnah), Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
[Al ‘Imran 3:31 – interpretation of the meaning]
The second pillar of Islam: salah (prayer).

The Muslim believes that Allah has enjoined upon every sane adult Muslim five (formal) prayers each day and night, which he does in a state of purity, standing before his Lord, every day in a state of purity and humility, thanking his Lord for His blessings, asking Him of His bounty, seeking His forgiveness for his sins, asking Him for Paradise and seeking refuge in Him from Hell.
What are the five daily prayers in Islam?
The five obligatory prayers which are required day and night are Fajr (early morning, before dawn), Zuhr (mid-day, just after noon), ‘Asr (mid afternoon), Maghrib (just after sunset) and ‘Isha (at night, after dark has fallen). There are also Sunnah prayers such as Qiyam al-Layl (prayer at night), Tarawih prayers, two rak’ahs of Duha prayer, etc.
What are the benefits of prayer in Islam?
Prayer, whether it is fard or nafl, represents a sincere turning towards Allah alone in all one's affairs. Allah has commanded all the believers to guard strictly the observance of the prayers, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Guard strictly (five obligatory) As-Salawat (the prayers) especially the middle Salah (i.e. the best prayer - ‘Asr). And stand before Allah with obedience [and do not speak to others during the Salah (prayers)].” [al-Baqarah 2:238]
The five daily prayers are obligatory upon every Muslim man and woman, night and day:
“Verily, As-Salah (the prayer) is enjoined on the believers at fixed hours.”
[al-Nisa 4:103 – interpretation of the meaning]
The one who abandons prayer has no share in Islam. Whoever neglects it deliberately is a kafir, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“(And remain always) turning in repentance to Him (only), and be afraid and dutiful to Him; and perform As-Salah (Iqamat-as-Salat) and be not of Al-Mushrikin (the polytheists, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah).”
[al-Rum 30:31]
Islam is based on co-operation, brotherhood and love, and Allah has prescribed coming together for these prayers and others, in order to attain these virtues.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Prayer in congregation is twenty-seven times better than prayer offered alone.” (Narrated by Muslim, no. 650)
Prayer helps the believer at times of hardship and calamity. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And seek help in patience and As-Salah (the prayer) and truly, it is extremely heavy and hard except for Al-Khashi‘un [i.e. the true believers in Allah — those who obey Allah with full submission, fear much from His punishment, and believe in His Promise (Paradise) and in His Warnings (Hell)].” [al-Baqarah 2:45]
The five daily prayers wipe out sins, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do you not think that if there was a river at the door of any one of you, and he were to bathe in it five times each day, would there by any dirt left on him?” They said, “No dirt would be left on him at all.” He said, “That is the likeness of the five daily prayers, by means of which Allah erases sin.”
Prayer in the mosque is a means of entering Paradise. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever comes and goes to the mosque, Allah will prepare for him a house in Paradise for each time he comes and goes.” (Narrated by Muslim, no. 669)
Prayer brings the slave and his Creator together. It was the delight of the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Whenever any matter grieved him, he would turn to prayer and converse with his Lord and call upon Him, seeking His forgiveness and asking Him of His bounty.
Prayer done with proper humility and fear of Allah brings the Muslim closer to his Lord, and keeps him from doing evil, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Recite (O Muhammad) what has been revealed to you of the Book (the Quran), and perform As-Salah (Iqamat-as-Salah). Verily, As-Salah (the prayer) prevents from Al-Fahsha (i.e. great sins of every kind, unlawful sexual intercourse) and Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism, and every kind of evil wicked deed).” [al-'Ankabut 29:45]
The third pillar of Islam: zakah (poor due, ‘compulsory’ charity).
Just as Allah has created people with different colours, attitudes and levels of knowledge, so too their deeds and provision vary. He has made some of them rich and some poor, to test the rich as to whether they show gratitude, and to test the poor as to whether they are patient. Because the believers are a brotherhood, and brotherhood is based on compassion, kindness, love and mercy, Allah has enjoined upon the Muslims zakah which is taken from the rich and given to the poor. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Take Sadaqah (alms) from their wealth in order to purify them and sanctify them with it, and invoke Allah for them. Verily, your invocations are a source of security for them.” [al-Taubah 9:103]
What is the wisdom of zakah in Islam?
Zakah purifies and cleanses wealth, and purifies the soul from stinginess and miserliness. It strengthens the love between the rich and poor, takes away hatred, makes security prevail and brings happiness to the ummah.
What is the rate of zakah?
Allah has made the payment of zakah obligatory upon everyone who owns the nisab (minimum amount) for one year. The rate of zakah on gold, silver, and trade goods is one quarter of ten percent. On agricultural produce and fruits the amount is one-tenth if it is irrigated (without artificial means), and one-half of one-tenth if it is irrigated by artificial means. Concerning an'am animals (i.e., sheep, goats, cattle and camels) the details are explained in the books of fiqh… Whoever pays zakat, Allah expiates his sins thereby, and blesses his wealth, and stores up for him a great reward. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And perform As-Salah (Iqamat-as-Salah), and give Zakah, and whatever of good (deeds that Allah loves) you send forth for yourselves before you, you shall find it with Allah. Certainly, Allah is All-Seer of what you do.” [al-Baqarah 2:110]
Withholding zakah brings disasters and evils upon the ummah. Allah has threatened those who withhold it with a painful torment on the Day of Resurrection. He says (interpretation of the meaning):
“O you who believe! Verily, there are many of the (Jewish) rabbis and the (Christian) monks who devour the wealth of mankind in falsehood, and hinder (them) from the way of Allah (i.e. Allah’s religion of Islamic Monotheism). And those who hoard up gold and silver (Al-Kanz: the money, the Zakah of which has not been paid) and spend them not in the way of Allah, announce unto them a painful torment.
On the Day when that (Al-Kanz: money, gold and silver, the Zakah of which has not been paid) will be heated in the fire of Hell and with it will be branded their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, (and it will be said unto them:) ‘This is the treasure which you hoarded for yourselves. Now taste of what you used to hoard’” [al-Taubah 9:34-35]
Concealing one’s zakah is better than paying it openly in front of people, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“If you disclose your Sadaqat (almsgiving), it is good; but if you conceal them and give them to the poor, that is better for you. (Allah) will expiate you some of your sins. And Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do.” [al-Baqarah 2:271]
Who is eligible to receive zakah in Islam?
When a Muslim pays his zakah, it is not permissible for him to give it to anyone except those whom Allah mentions in the ayah (interpretation of the meaning):
“As-Sadaqat (here it means Zakah) are only for the Fuqara (poor), and Al-Masakin (the poor) and those employed to collect (the funds); and to attract the hearts of those who have been inclined (towards Islam); and to free the captives; and for those in debt; and for Allah’s Cause (i.e. for Mujahidun — those fighting in Allah’s cause), and for the wayfarer (a traveller who is cut off from everything); a duty imposed by Allah. And Allah is All-Knower, All-Wise.” [al-Taubah 9:60]
The fourth pillar of Islam: sawm (fasting) in Ramadaan.
Fasting means abstaining from things which break the fast, such as food, drink and intercourse, from the break of true dawn until sunset, with the intention of fasting.
The relationship of patience to faith is like that of the head to the body. Allah has enjoined upon this ummah fasting for one month of the year, in order to draw closer to Allah, to avoid that which Allah has forbidden, to get used to being patient, to bring the nafs (self) under control, to compete in generosity and to demonstrate cooperation and mutual compassion. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“O you who believe! Observing As-Sawm (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious).” [al-Baqarah 2:183]
What are the virtues of Ramadan?
The month of Ramadan is a great month, in which Allaah revealed the Quran. The reward for good deeds, acts of charity and acts of worship are multiplied in this month. In it is Laylat al-Qadr, which is better than a thousand months. The gates of Heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are shut, and the shayateen (devils) are tied up.
Who must fast in Ramadan?
Allah has made fasting the month of Ramadan obligatory upon every sane, adult Muslim, male and female alike, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
“The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan i.e. is present at his home), he must observe Sawm (fasts) that month, and whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number [of days which one did not observe Sawm (fasts) must be made up] from other days. Allah intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you. (He wants that you) must complete the same number (of days), and that you must magnify Allah [i.e. to say Takbeer (Allahu Akbar: Allah is the Most Great)] for having guided you so that you may be grateful to Him.” [al-Baqarah 2:185]
There is a great reward with Allaah for fasting.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Every action of the son of Adam is multiplied, each good deed  receiving a tenfold to seven hundredfold reward. Allah said, ‘Except for fasting, for it is done for Me and I will give a reward for it, for he gives up his desire and food for My sake.’” (Narrated by Muslim, al-Siyam)
The fifth pillar of Islam: Hajj (pilgrimage)
Allah has given the Muslims a Qiblah (direction of prayer) which they face when they pray (salah) and offer supplications (du’a), wherever they may be. This qiblah is the Ancient House (the Ka’bah) in Makkah al-Mukarramah:
“So turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid Al-Haram (at Makkah). And wherever you people are, turn your faces (in prayer) in that direction.” [al-Baqarah 2:144 – interpretation of the meaning]
Why do Muslims go for Hajj?
Because the Muslims are scattered all over the world, and Islam calls people to be united and get to know one another, just as it calls them to co-operate in righteousness and piety, to recommend one another to the truth, to call people to Allah and to venerate the rites of Allah – hence Allah has made it obligatory for every sane, adult Muslim who has the means, to visit His Ancient House, to circumambulate it and to perform all the rituals of Hajj as explained by Allah and His Messenger. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) to the House (Ka‘bah) is a duty that mankind owes to Allah, those who can afford the expenses (for one’s conveyance, provision and residence); and whoever disbelieves [i.e. denies Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah), then he is a disbeliever of Allah], then Allah stands not in need of any of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists).” [al ‘Imran 3:97]
Hajj is an occasion on which the unity of the Muslims, their strength and pride, are made manifest. For the Lord is One, the Book is one, the Messenger is one, the ummah is one, their worship is one and their clothing is one.
What are the conditions of Hajj?
Hajj has its own etiquette and conditions which the Muslims must observe, such as restraining their tongues, hearing and sight from all that Allah has forbidden, being sincere in their intentions, using money from good sources (for Hajj), fostering the best attitude, and avoiding everything that could invalidate the Hajj, such as sexual relations, sin or arguing unjustly, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“The Hajj (pilgrimage) is (in) the well-known (lunar year) months (i.e. the 10th month, the 11th month and the first ten days of the 12th month of the Islamic calendar, i.e. two months and ten days). So whosoever intends to perform Hajj therein (by assuming Ihram), then he should not have sexual relations (with his wife), nor commit sin, nor dispute unjustly during the Hajj. And whatever good you do, (be sure) Allah knows it. And take a provision (with you) for the journey, but the best provision is At-Taqwa (piety, righteousness). So fear Me, O men of understanding!.” [al-Baqarah 3:197]
If the Muslim does Hajj correctly, in the manner prescribed and sincerely for the sake of Allah, it will be an expiation for his sins. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever does Hajj for the sake of Allah, and does not have sexual relations or commit sins, will come back like the day his mother bore him.”
(Narrated by al-Bukhari, no. 15210)
And Allah knows best.

Tawheed’s main pillar is rejecting Taghut
Tauheed refers to the nature of God. Tawhid or Tawheed or Tauhid means to unite, to show unity “. In Islam, it means the Oneness of God, in the sense that Allah is the Only ‘true God’. Allah is the One and there is no God but Him, Tawheed is the central, single and most important aspect of Islam. The opposite of #Tauhid is #Taghut. Taghut is something which is worshiped instead of Allah or besides Allah. Tawheed has to be accepted by rejecting Taghut first. A Muslim’s complete religious allegiance depends on Tauhid. The first part of the Shahada (Islamic declaration of faith) is the declaration of faith in the Oneness of God. The Shahada connects the Muslim with the ultimate truth of Tawheed. Tawhid means the belief that Allah Alone is the 'True God’. There is no true God but Allah. Shahada is the proof of the absolute truth of the Oneness of Allah. The recognition and testimony of Shahadah allows Muslims to be sure that their full attention is on Allah.

THE MEANING OF LA ILAHA ILLA-ALLAH
“None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,” in it (i.e. the Testimony) is the negation of worship to other than Allah and its affirmation with regard to Allah alone.

🍂🥀🍂 Visiting the Shrine of the Holy Prophet (S)
The method of visiting the shrine of the Holy Prophet (S) is as follows:
When you arrive in the holy city of al-Madinah, you may bathe yourself, preparing yourself for the ziyarah. When you intend to enter The Holy Prophet’s (S) Mosque, you should stop at the door of the mosque and say the FIRST form of asking permission for entering there (which has been mentioned in the previous chapter). You may enter from the Gate of Archangel Gabriel (Bab Jibra’il) preceding the right foot to the left.
You may then repeat one hundred times:
اَللَّهُ اكْبَرُ
You may then offer the two unit prayer of Greeting the Mosque (tahiyyat al-masjid). After that, you may walk to the holy chamber that includes the tomb of the Holy Prophet.
There, you may touch it with your hand, kiss it, and say the following:
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ
alssalamu `alayka ya rasula allahi
Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah.
alssalamu `alayka ya nabiyya allahi
Peace be upon you, O Prophet of Allah.
alssalamu `alayka ya muhammadu bna `abdillahi
Peace be upon you, O Muhammad the son of `Abdullah.
alssalamu `alayka ya khatama alnnabiyyina
Peace be upon you, O Seal of the Prophets.
ashhadu annaka qad ballaghta alrrisalata
I bear witness that you conveyed the Mission,
wa aqamta alssalata
performed the prayers,
wa atayta alzzakata
gave alms,
wa amarta bilma`rufi
enjoined the right,
wa nahayta `an almunkari
forbade the wrong,
wa `abadta allaha mukhlisan hatta ataka alyaqinu
and served Almighty Allah sincerely until death came upon you.

I bear witness that you are the messenger of Allah

bilhikmati walmaw`izati alhasanati
with wisdom and fair exhortation,
wa addayta alladhi `alayka min alhaqqi
fulfilled the duty that was incumbent upon you,
wa annaka qad ra'ufta bilmu'minina
acted compassionately to the believers,
wa ghaluzta `ala alkafirina
and been firm of heart against the unbelievers.
faballgha allahu bika afdala sharafi mahalli almukarramina
Therefore, Almighty Allah has exalted you to the most honorable position of the ennobled ones.

allahumma a`tihi alddarajata alrrafi`ata
“Surely, Allah and His angels bless the Prophet;

Hello! This isn't an ask but I wanted to know what Ramadan is and why your faith does it (I'm Christian but I am very fascinated by other religions) and I read about and just wanted to say that this, forgive me if I am wrong, holiday month sounds so beautiful both mentally and spiritually and I really think its amazing you guys do this!
hey there! What you have to know first is that there are 5 pillars in Islam.
Those pillars are:
1. The Testimony of Faith or ‘Shahada’:
which is “La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammadur rasoolu Allah.” (There is no god but allah and muhammed is his messenger). The testimony is the first step you need to do when becoming a muslim. By saying it you convert to islam.
2. The Prayer or ‘As Salah’:
there is a total of 5 prayers a day. First one is before sunrise, second is noon, third is mid-afternoon, fourth is sunset and the last one at night. Each prayer takes around 2-5 minutes at most. Before every prayer we have to perform the wudu which is the cleaning ritual. The prayer is one of the most important pillars in islam and our direct connection to allah. It’s like a meeting you have with him 5 times a day.
3. Giving ‘Zakat’ (to the poor and needy):
every muslim who is financially stable has to give a certain amount of their wealth to the people in need. Those who cannot give away any money or gold or any wealth because they aren’t financially stable, have to give it by good doing good deed and actions. But there are quite some rules to it as to whom you’re allowed to give the money to and how much it should be etc.
4. Fasting in the month of Ramadan or ‘Sawm’:
during the month, every muslim has to fast from dawn to sunset. Many non muslims think it’s only cutting off food and water. But in case it means cutting of bad habits like cursing, smoking, gossiping or any other type of sins. In the month of ramadan we are not allowed to fight with others or show negative behaviors in any way. We are encouraged to help the people in need even more, to help our parents, to visit our families, and just overall kind of purify our souls and bodies. The fasting is kind of a proof of your love to god as well. At the end of the day many muslims do it for god and because we are told so. But there are many benefits for us as well. So it’s a take and given like in a strong and steady relationship. Another important thing about the fasting is that it reminds us that we don’t live forever. It helps us to let go of the worldly needs and concentrate on our faith and prayers and other things that count so much more than money and wealth. That’s why so many muslims give during ramadan. Many many muslims donate money to charities or go out and help them. And in fact there are ramadan iftars (iftar is the time we break the fasting) at mosques open for everyone who cannot provide food themselves, or don’t want to eat alone during iftar because they have no family, or are just in need. What’s also important to know is that ramadan is the month in which the revelation of the Quran (our holy book) began. Excused from fasting are pregnant women and those who are still breath fasting, any type of sick person who cannot perform the fasting or have to take their medicines, travelers, those who cannot fast because they’re too old hence too weak to do so, and those who are forced to fast which is totally forbidden. In islam everything comes down to your intention or Niyyah. Everything you do, no matter what it is, must be your own will and come from a pure heart that you do it for yourself and for god.
5. The pilgrimage to Makkah or ‘Hajj’:
every muslim who is physically and financially in the state is obligated to perform the pilgrimage to makkah once in their lifetime. There is quite a lot you have to know about hajj so if you’re interested in that in more detail you can read it here.
I hope I was able to help you understand it a bit better. I’m in no way the best muslim and my knowledge isn’t as big as many other muslims but I think this is the basic you should know about.

THE IMPORTANCE OF LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAH
THE IMPORTANCE OF LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAH
The belief in the words of “Lá iláha illallah” cause one to enter Islam, to refute all deities and accept Allah as the only God and Lord of the Universe and what it contains. No one can be a Muslim without believing and adhering to the tenets of of Lá iláha illallah.
Lá iláha illallah is the belief in the divine lordship of Allah (referred to as “ruboobiyyah”), meaning believing that Allah is the only one power who creates, gives life and death, and maintains the affairs of all that’s in this universe.
Lá iláha illallah is the belief in the divine nature (referred to as “uloohiyyah”), meaning believing that Allah is the only one to whom people should devote their words and actions of worship. None therefore should be worshipped but Him.
Lá iláha illallah is the belief in the names and attributes of Allah (referred to as “al-asma’ wa’l-sifaat”), which means affirming what Allah has affirmed for Himself of names and attributes, and denying any attributes that Allah has said are not His, without denying any of His attributes or likening any of His attributes to the attributes of any of His creation.
The excerpts of the sermon that follows later in this post is on the topic of Lá iláha illallah and was delivered by the Muslim leader Umar bin Abdul Aziz who sometimes is considered as the fifth caliph in Islam. He was from the Umayyad dynasty and ruled the Muslims from 717 to 720 CE. He was the great-grandson of the companion of the Prophet Muhammad, SallAllaho ‘alaihi wa Sallam Umar bin Al-Khattab RadiyAllahu ‘anhu. Within Islamic history, he was known to be extremely pious and disdainful of worldly luxuries. He preferred simplicity to the extravagance that had become a hallmark of the Umayyad lifestyle, depositing all assets meant for the caliph into the public treasury. He abandoned the caliphate palace and instead preferred to live in modest dwellings.
La Ilaha Illa Allah
(Also read Selection of the fourth Caliph of Islam from Ali Ibn Abu Talib, Talhah Ibn Ubaidullah, and Zubair Ibn Awwam Al-Asadi)
Umar bin Abdul Aziz delivered the sermon (excerpts follow) on assuming the leadership of the Muslims and highlights the importance of living by the tenets of Lá iláha illAllah.
“So know (O Muhammad SAW) that Laa ilaaha illAllah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), and ask forgiveness for your sin, and also for (the sin of) believing men and believing women.” Quran (47:19)
Muhammad (peace be upon him) embraced this word and declared it.
Have you not heard Alláh’s Statement:
“And those whom they invoke instead of Him have no power of intercession; except those who bear witness to the truth (i.e. believed in the Oneness of Allah, and obeyed His Orders), and the

BASICS OF ISLAM : Salah ( Ritual Prayer in Islam ) : The Importance and Meaning of Salah. Part2
Prayer comforts the soul and the mind and is easy for the body.
Furthermore, correct intention transforms our deeds and conduct into worship. Thus our short lifetime is spent for the sake of eternal life in the other world, and our transient life gains a kind of permanence. The prescribed prayer is the pillar of religion and the best of good deeds. One who does not perform it cannot construct the building of religion on the foundation of faith. Any foundation on which a building was not built is liable to removal.
The Messenger, upon him be peace and blessings, taught that it is like a river running by one’s house.
One who bathes in it five times a day is cleaned of all dirt (which may have smeared him or her during the periods between them).
He also taught that the prescribed prayers can serve as an atonement for the minor sins committed between them (Muslim, “Tahara,” 16).
The Qur’an declares that the prescribed prayer prevents one from committing indecencies and other kinds of evil deeds (29:45).
Also, it serves as repentance and asking God for forgiveness. Similarly, any good deed done just after an evil one may cause it to be forgiven. So it is highly advisable that one should do good immediately after doing an evil deed. Like the prescribed prayer, this manner of action may also restrain one from doing further evil.Prayer seems to be a strenuous demand, but in reality gives indescribable peace and comfort.
Those who pray recite ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah (I bear witness that there is no deity but God).
Only He can give harm and benefit. He is the All-Wise, Who does nothing useless; the All-Compassionate, Whose mercy and bounty are abundant.
Having faith, believers see in every event a door to the wealth of God’s Mercy, and knock on it via supplication.
Realizing that their Lord and Sustainer controls everything, they take refuge in Him.
Putting their trust in and fully submitting to God, they resist evil.
Their faith gives them complete confidence.
As with every good action, courage arises from faith in and loyal devotion to God.
As with every bad action, cowardice arises from misguidance.
If Earth were to explode, those servants of God with truly illuminated hearts would not be frightened – they might even consider it a marvel of the Eternally-Besought’s Power. A rationalist but non-believing philosopher might tremble at the sight of a comet, lest it should strike Earth.
Our ability to meet our endless demands is negligible. We are threatened with afflictions that our own strength cannot withstand. Our strength is limited to what we can reach, yet our wishes and demands, suffering and sorrow, are as wide as our imagination.
Anyone not wholly blind to the truth understands that our best option is to submit to God, to worship, believe, and have confidence in Him. A safe road is preferable to a dangerous one, even one with a very low probability of safe passage.
The way of belief leads one safely to endless bliss with near certainty; the way of unbelief and transgression, meanwhile, is not profitable and has a near certainty of endless loss. Even its travelers agree on this truth, as do countless experts and people of insight and observation. In conclusion, just like the other world’s bliss, happiness in this world depends upon submitting to God and being His devoted servant.
So always praise Him, saying: “Praise be to God for obedience and success in His way,” and thank Him that we are His believing and worshiping servants.

Via Youtube: Tawheed on 12th May, 2021 V1: 114- Should all mankind enter Islam and follow its teachings [Noor ala alDarb, Shaikh ibn Baz, Vol1] Language: English Q: If we want to make Da'wah (calling to Islam) to a person, how do we start it? Please advise us, may Allah reward you well. [Vol. 1, Page No. 302-303] A: Begin by attracting people to Islam and clarifying to them that Islam is the Religion of Allah with which He sent all the prophets, and revealed the books, and sent the last of the Prophets, Muhammad (ﷺ), to preach. It is obligatory on all mankind to enter Islam and live committed to it. This is an obligation on all mankind, whether they are Jews or Christians or communists or any other people. All mankind, males or females, are obliged to enter Islam, embrace it, follow it and remain steadfast in it. Allah created all creatures to worship Him Alone. This worship for which they were created is Islam, with which Allah sent the prophets, and sent Muhammad (ﷺ), and made the Shariah (Divine law) revealed to him abrogate all previous Shariahs. It abrogated the law of the Tawrah (Torah) and the Injil (Gospel) and all other worshipping that exists on earth. The Shariah of Muhammad (ﷺ) abrogated all. Therefore, all mankind must follow it and hold firm to it. Thus, clarify to people that Islam is the Religion of Allah, and that He sent Muhammad (ﷺ) to preach this religion. It is the very same religion of all the previous prophets before Muhammad (ﷺ). Its core and foundation is testifying that La ilaha illa Allah (there is no god but Allah) and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. First, teach them the Two Shahadahs (Testimonies of Faith), explain their meanings, then teach them Salah (Prayer), Zakah (obligatory charity), Sawm (Fasting), Hajj and the six Pillars of Iman (belief), and explain their meanings, and inform them that they must disassociate themselves from all other religions that oppose Islam including Christianity and others. They must believe that "Eisa (Jesus, peace be upon him) is the Servant and Messenger of Allah, His Word ("Be!" - and he was), which He bestowed on Maryam (Mary, may Allah be pleased with her) and a Ruh (spirit) created by Him. If the person is a Christian, teach them that "Eisa is the Servant and Messenger of Allah whom Allah created from a female without a male. Allah said to him "Be" and he was. We are obliged to believe that he is the Servant of Allah and His Messenger, not that he is Allah, or the son of Allah, or the third of three (trinity). Rather, he is the Servant of Allah and His Messenger whom Allah created from a female, Maryam the virgin, the honest (may Allah be pleased with her), and he has no father. Allah said to him "Be" - and he was. We must have faith in this, believe it and disavow the ways of the Jews and the Christians in this matter. https://binbaz.org.sa/fatwas/9927/%D8%AA%D9%88%D8%AC%D9%8A%D9%87%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D9%81%D9%8A-%D9%83%D9%8A%D9%81%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D8%AF%D8%B9%D9%88%D8%A9-%D8%BA%D9%8A%D8%B1-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D8%B3%D9%84%D9%85 #Islam #Quran #Hadith #Sunnah #Fatwa
