#Pinguicula vulgaris

The only carnivorous plant that I saw in Scotland - Pinguicula vulgaris, common butterwort, which seemed fairly abundant around Glen Nevis. Sadly, none were in flower in May! P. vulgaris is a circumboreal plant, and I’ve also seen it Washington State and Canada. Its leaves are covered in sort of sticky, slimy fluids and digestive enzymes to trap and breakdown insects, which give it a buttery feeling.

Yet more insects coming to a sticky end. This time it's butterwort - Pinguicula vulgaris.

The small carnivorous plants bog is going really well! 🌿

It has changed a bit since I set it up. In the set-up video, I had put in Empetrum nigrum and Calluna vulgaris. Unfortunately, both plants died after a while and I can't say what caused this.

I then planted the bottom completely with moss and added Utricularia sandersonii and Utricularia livida.

But the Drosera capensis alba in particular, which can be seen at the front right, has grown really big. In the meantime, it has formed some offshoots and is even flowering! 🌼

Gefällt mir nicht, wirkt gar nicht wie das Original. Liegt’s an den (fehlenden) Schattierungen? Ich sollte mir etwas Einfacheres vornehmen bzw. abstrakter Zeichnen. Vor allem für den Aufwand unbefriedigend.
