EXPLORER ANN THEORY (+sketchs)

Ann - That character that has haunted me since her appearance. Her presence in the horizons is not significant, Liko’s classmate, as well as her close friend. But I'm not sure that it will be as insignificant in the future.

For me, the theory that Ann is connected with the explorers is, in fact, so far the most truthful theory that there is in general in this anime. As we remember, the first person to see the pendant from Liko’s hands was, of course, Ann. Afterwards, when Liko moved to the Brave Asagi, she began calling Ann, and surprisingly, explorers always found out where the Brave Asagi was without complex tracking systems(of course, this does not apply to the moments when we were openly shown that the explorers were intentionally tracking the ship.)

Ann could very well be a fake friend for Liko in order to convey basic information to the explorers, and her goal is to gain Liko’s trust and also transfer all the information to the explorers.

By the way, do you remember that episode where Ann met Liko Dot and Roy on the way to the Academy? From this episode, the scene where Ann showered Liko with compliments, and Dot only cast ambiguous glances at Liko, became ingrained in me. The episodes where they took notes were about nothing. We were simply shown the relationship between the main characters and their Pokémon, but what I noticed first was Dot’s behavior. She was quite active in these episodes, noticed the condition of Liko and Roy, offered help, was interested in how everyone was doing, and in general she was active. But as soon as Ann appeared in their trio, Dot remained silent. She didn't say anything, just glanced at Ann and Liko.

I don't think it's because of Ann's activity. If we remember Nemona, then Dot behaves normally with her, chatting with friends the same way. Maybe because she has problems with her social life? Don't think. Just remember the episode where Dot lured an incredibly large number of people to a cafe. It's possible that Dot sees something wrong with Ann. She is clearly embarrassed by her behavior and her excessive attention to Liko. And it’s even clear why, she doesn’t look through rose-colored glasses, she has a good instinct, and she’s not used to trusting others so blindly like Roy and Liko.

But I also often asked myself the question - how could Ann even get to the explorers? Until one day I noticed one detail. Have you noticed that Ann and Sango are similar? Hairstyle, shades of pink in the hair, similar eye shape, as well as the fang on the same side. It is possible that Ann may be a relative of Sango, for example, the sister.

It may happen that when Liko finds out that Ann is Sango's sister and that she helped the explorers, she will be disappointed in her. But Ann will go over to Liko's side, sacrificing her relationship with Sango. Naturally, Liko needs time to ask Ann.

In general, initially Ann could not have any intentions of becoming real friends with Liko, but let's remember that first of all they are children, and naturally Ann became attached to Liko and began to perceive her as a friend. She could tell Sango that she is not at all attached to Liko, and views her as an enemy, but it will all be a lie. Of course, Ann perceives her as her best friend, and sincerely does not want to think differently.

Day 21: Which charakter would you like to appear more often?

Definitely Anne and Nemona! I love them both so much! We haven't seen Nemona since episode 10 and I would have liked Anne and Liko to meet again instead of just seeing each other digitally.

Having literal shower thoughts about how Ann(e) so far really does only appear in episodes that involve Explorers? In some manner? If I'm forgetting some episode then please forgive me but it is admittedly so suspicious of her to befriend Liko, find out about the pendant, find out she's staying at the dorm, only to then see that Amethio is coming to look for her and her pendant.

And there was another case where Liko told Ann where they'd be going that day and then Amethio shows up again. At that place. I don't remember if it was that mine episode or which but that definitely stuck to my mind.

And, even now, when the Explorers got told to monitor Terapagos and that girl, Liko, who shows up at the school our Horizons trio went to study in for terastal? Ann.

Also people have noted that Ann and Sango have very similar character designs. To the point that some believe them to be the same character but in disguise (A proper debunk of this is that they have different VAs). Also, they are never seen on the same screen. HZ046 had the first proper change of this happening, yet it was avoided. Almost as if by design. So, I had a showerthought on this.

What if, instead of Ann being Sango, Ann is Sango's sister. Who didn't get pampered like Sango seems to have been (I mean, Sango seems quite spoiled based on her manners and all). So she's far more collective and could be far more able with infiltration mission. Esp. a long term one like this. I'm not entirely sure of how tall Sango in reality is, so it's hard for me to tell if Sango and Ann could be same age, as in twins, or Ann could be younger sister.

But I also thought that, I don't think she'd consider her and Liko's friendship fake. Like she'd genuinely start to think of her as her bff.

Just a thought. I'm not sure I'd completely buy this idea of a kid being among the ranks of Explorers, buuuut, we have teenagers there (with Amethio as confirmed by VA and I suspect Sango to heavily be one as well), so maybe by relation Ann could be as well.

All we need to debunk this is for Ann and Sango to appear on the same scene and not interact in any familiar way lol. And I don't know if Pokémon would really dare to go through something like this on a kids TV show (as in Liko's BFF turning out to be part of the Explorer thus an enemy), but hey, Digimon did do so in one of their season. So, I'm not gonna put it aside fully just yet.

So yeh. Putting this out there in writing for future case lol.

New AU Time

I love aus and this one popped into my mind and I absolutely love it, since both shows are great (for the most part). Anyway here is my time on a Pokémon Horizons x Miraculous Ladybug au (man I wish I could draw).

Synopsis: Eight years ago, the current guardian Friede lost six of the miraculous during a fight with a rough hero. Now that villain is back and wielding the butterfly miraculous and seeking to steal all others out of revenge. As such, Friede must seek new wielders of the ladybug and black cat to stop him and find the missing miraculous before he does.

Hello, Writblrs!

Hey, everyone! After lurking around writblr for a bit I'm going to give jumping in a try. If it looks like I don't know what I'm doing it's cuz I don't.

I'm Cam, and I write mostly fantasy, usually with some fluffy romance thrown in. Definitely lots of queer characters, though that's hardly a surprise on here. I get lots of inspiration from fairy tales and myths, especially stuff with the fae, witches, gods, and magical animals.

My favorite authors are Marissa Meyer, Jim Butcher, Robin McKinley, N.K. Jemisin, Heather Blake, and Anne Rice. If anyone has book recs I'd love to hear them! Especially queer fantasy with wlw and nonbinary characters in the main cast. I feel like my own taste is kind of going stale at the moment...

What else? I like to play video games, especially Hades, Pokémon, Slay the Spire, Inscryption, Hollow Knight, Dark Souls, and all the LoZ games. I'm finally finally finally learning how to play the Pokémon card game after all these years lol.

But enough about me, I want to hear from you guys! My dash is empty, so I need writers to follow! Especially if you write:

So I only really have one atm. It's called Girlfriend of the Gods. A silly title I know but it's a pretty silly story.

It's a Cinderella-type tale about a girl who doesn't fit in and accidentally gets the attention of the goddess of death and her brother the god of wind by making a wish. It's got a magical shapeshifting chameleon and an evil book. See? Silliness. I'll get around to making a proper introduction for it if anyone's interested.

That's pretty much it. I look forward to meeting people and making some friends to grow along with.

so... hz ships.

right now, they’re kinda nameless. well, not exactly, with the use of japanese portmanteaus being popular. but, just to be a bit more ‘mainstream’ at least in pokémon, they deserve ‘_shipping’ names.

how about we give them some?

i did not make all of these ship names. i made some of them, but some were taken from my friends or may have gotten usage already. 

let’s start off with, from what i’ve seen, one of the most popular ships in horizons, ameliko. since i don’t ship this, i’m unfamiliar with the fandom, and have no idea if they already have a name. but i’ll still give them one: pendantmissionshipping. i don’t really like it, since it’s probably not gonna end up a huge part of their characters like it is now, but it works.

next, let’s do likoroy, or royliko as some people call it. let’s start off with the fact that it literally cannot be horizonshipping. it can’t. the name’s taken, it’s been taken since the old bulbagarden shipping list. so, there’s the alternative newhorizonshipping, and it’s probably the most similar that we can get since ‘horizonsshipping’ just sounds stupid.

alright, ann x liko. it was the most popular liko ship during hz001 and hz002, but recently it hasn’t been as popular compared to other ships. the recommended one is aiboushipping, ‘aibou’ means partner in japanese. sidekick, one and only. i think it fits quite well.

the last ‘main’ liko ship is dot x liko, which i don’t really have any idea for. i do like the name ideas of superfanshipping and guruminshipping, and i think those fit best out of the ones i’ve seen recommended. i’d love to find better names for them, since i do enjoy them as a pairing.

since there aren’t many ‘main’ roy ships besides likoroy, let’s move onto my favorite platonic soulmates, furiame. the recommended name for them is freedexplorershipping, which, oh my god, fits perfectly. it’s both obscure but not absolutely ridiculous, and it’s literally perfect for them.

one of the other friede ships, friede x murdock, is one i did make a name for, which i’m very much proud of. capncrunchshipping surprisingly isn’t a taken name, and it makes sense for both characters and their jobs on the ship. rn, this may jst be my horizons otp, half because of the name. airfryershipping is another name i enjoy.

orla x mollie is definetly the most popular yuri ship in horizons up to this point. they’re just.. oh my god. i suggest the name heartstruckshipping for them, since it again, makes sense for the characters’ jobs. and it’s just a gorgeous ship name, they deserve a gorgeous name.

there are other ships, like friede x mollie, or amethio x spinel, or one of the many rarepairs i’ve already made, but the last ship i’ll talk about is zir x conia. since the name ‘explorershipping’ is taken, explorersshipping could work, as i’ve seen recommended. it doesn’t sound as goofy as ‘horizonsshipping’, and it works for them.

but, i really wanna see what other people think could be their ship names!!
