Why Should We Use Cotton 2-Ply Ringspun Satin Band Damask Linens for Restaurants on Festival Occasions?

A festival means merriment, gorging, and creating lingering memories. The holiday season reigns a swarm of diners seeking a high-quality experience with cafes. Table linens may be an afterthought, but they are key to creating such experiences. Cotton 2-ply ringspun satin band damask linens are among the many options, but they are a superior choice for enhancing restaurant ambiance during festival times. First of all, these are luxury and sophistication-born linens. A damask weave with a satin band design has a timeless elegance that complements any table setting. That subtle sheen and intricate patterns immediately make your dining space festive and event-worthy. Another great advantage is durability. These premium linens for restaurants are so strong and long-lasting that they are made out of 2-ply ringspun cotton, even with frequent use and washing. They are a cost-effective investment for restaurants. Cotton is also inherently absorbent and stain-resistant, allowing you to wipe spills up without damage. The greenery offers tactile comfort to guests and complements the entire dining experience. Cotton 2-ply ringspun satin band damask linens allow restaurants to effortlessly merge function with style to help infuse their holiday and festive occasions with that extra touch of awesome.

imagine you're getting married to kaiser and even though you're the bride, it's him that turns into an absolute bridezilla.
initially, you thought it'd just be a small event between you and him—just going down to city hall and be done with it—but when you had sleepily confessed to him one quiet night as he played with your fingers that maybe in another life, you'll get a traditional wedding, kaiser's determined to make sure you get what you want in this one.
and this guy kinda goes a bit bonkers. he's got everything planned in meticulous detail in this binder he carries around everywhere with all the information one could possibly need—vendor info, list of caterers, drafts of the schedule for d-day. at first, you think it's sweet, that he's going all the way for you and him. until he goes... a little too far.
he once grossly spat out his bite of a sample black forest cake right in front of the baker. "this is an insult to germany itself. never bake this again if you know what's best for you."
"i thought i asked for silk tablecloth with the chiffon runner?" he seethed at one caterer, grabbing the fabric and bunching it in his fist. "you thought you could fool me with this cheap-ass polyester?"
"i don't give a single shit if they're out of season," he cussed at one of the florists over the phone. "get me those tan hua flowers for my wedding or so god help me."
the list of caterers in his binder grows narrower and narrower—with some of their services slashed by kaiser due to "incompetence"(kaiser's words, not yours) or they flat-out refused to provide service to you due your fiance's temperament.
you tell him multiple times that this doesn't have to be a big event he has to stress over, that all you want is for you to tie the knot and to devote yourself to each other, but all kaiser does is kiss your forehead and tell you that he's got it covered.
"what kind of husband would i be if i didn't make my beloved's wishes come true, mein schatz?"
#you had agreed to go down to city hall at first bc of kaiser's situation with his parents and didnt want to trouble him#but he insists on it and also plans on using it to show off to your family what kind of man he is to you#yes his side may be rather smaller than yours but that's fine. as long as youre happy and brightly shining in your dress#a LILLLL bit self ship coded if im gonna be real soz#blue lock#bllk#blue lock x reader#michael kaiser#michael kaiser x reader#take a sip ; michael kaiser#✍︎ ; alice in writingland

I've just gotten back into sewing. After careful consideration, it turns out it would be somewhat cheaper for me to sew my own clothes than to buy some of the pieces that I adore.
It might be a big ask, but how does one go to making very high quality clothing of their own? I already know all my sewing classics, but I want my clothes to be top-notch and well-made.
First, some resources. I’ve given a link to the old publications by the Women’s Institute of Domestic Arts and Sciences before, and I’ll put it here again, just because I think that they are excellent resources for such a wide range of skills, and when it comes to dressmaking, their tailoring series is particularly good. I’d recommend sticking to extremely old-fashioned, course-type books whenever you can—there are lots available for free on Internet Archive, and I’m happy to try to find scans if there happens to be something you can’t get hold of—and avoiding modern classes, books, and videos if you can, not because I want to make life unnecessarily hard, but because the techniques taught in the past were far more thorough, and far more focused on fit and longevity, than the modern need for speed and quantity allows for. There exist, of course, some truly amazing modern resources, too, but these are, more often than not, highly specialised, expensive and difficult to find, and intended for couturiers, not the amateur seamstress. Older books, on the other hand, are widely available for free online, assume little to no prior knowledge, and teach clearly and with none of the bad habits that arose out of the loss of dressmaking as an everyday and commonplace skill in the light of the garment industry’s expansion.
Second, some recommendations. You don’t need to spend a lot to create a high-quality garment, but you do need to spend wisely. Avoid ‘Fabric Land’–type establishments; buy deadstock, vintage, or secondhand fabric from carboot sales and destash events, and focus on weight and composition over print. Practise with old bedsheets—you can even use old bedsheets and tablecloths to make your clothes, especially if they’re linen; I have a good few dresses and tops that I’ve made from embroidered bedlinen, tablecloths, and napkins, and they’re adorable and so unique. Thread is just as important as fabric, and again, doesn’t need to cost a fortune, but poor-quality thread that snaps or frays ruins all your hard work. I use a lot of secondhand thread given to me or bought from elderly ladies who can’t sew anymore, but if I’m buying new, then I like Moon Thread by Coats; it’s reasonably-priced, and has never let me down quality-wise. (NB. Moon Thread is 100% polyester, which is incredibly strong, but not suitable for dyeing projects, as it doesn’t take to dye.) You also don’t need a top-class machine, just something sturdy and reliable; I have a machine from the ’60s that I have serviced once a year, and it runs like a dream, even without all the fancy computerisation of a more modern machine. I would recommend investing in something simple, sturdy, and all-metal mechanics, and spending your money on its upkeep rather than on a more expensive machine.
Essentially, it’s down to practice—you can only get better at dressmaking through practice—and investing in modest but quality tools. There’s no real shortcut or fancy piece of equipment that will create a truly well-made garment; it’s well-executed technique and high-quality materials. I’m very happy to share more specific tips or resources for certain aspects of dressmaking, if you’d find that useful—just send me an ask whenever you hit a stumbling-block, and I’ll do my best to help set you right again.

could i make a fantasy costume in a week for this art stroll next friday. I have a lot of fabric I can fuck around with but it IS insanely hot and only some of that fabric is breathable 🤔. I did also thrift some burnt orange tablecloths and I think theyre like a polyester but its woven like a brocade so I could make something interesting with it.
The main problem is it says to dress like ur fave fantasy character and I’m like would any of my fabric fit a character I like. Or could I get away with the generic historical fantasy esque stuff I like to sew 🤔🤔 who are my favorite fantasy characters i cant remember .
#i have a lavendar cotton chiffon that would be nice to wear#but im not sure what i would make .#plus a bunch of white linen which i guess i can always dye#jordan talks#it also says myth and folklore#does a deuterocanonical book from scripture count. I can do Judith easy.#i already have that one made.

Hey does anyone know of a good place to get affordable and sustainable fabric from? I’m getting into sewing and I know that you can get fabric from thrift stores if they have things like bedsheets and tablecloths in stock, and I have gotten my fabric from there so far, but they have rather limited options and I’m looking for a website that sells more options that aren’t fully polyester. If anyone knows please comment or rb!

Me: I wonder why in our thrift shops there are no nice curtains, tablecloths and bedsheets to use for sewing... Western bloggers always have them(
Also me: Has curtains made from scratchy polyester she never changed and doesn't plan to change. Has no tablecloth. Repaired her duvet covers after they teared apart in seams. Made her old bedsheet with holes into cloths to work with paint.

It's almost official, I am becoming a Khnum devotee. Haven't tried actually communicating with him or making any offerings yet, but I'm pretty much set on setting up a small altar for him in a corner of my pottery workshop (seems more than fitting).
I feel inspired and empowered in a way by him. Intrigued, as well. Feels like there's not as much info on him as other Egyptian deities. Which I guess makes developing my intuition much more crucial, in my opinion.
Today I went inside a fabric store to try and find something to cover the old turntable I will be using as the elevated portion of the altar, something akin to a miniature tablecloth. I was really hoping to get something made of natural fibers— polyester just wasn't gonna cut it. No judgement on anyone who has no other options or who just like synthetic fabrics but, personally, I feel like my deities deserve better whenever possible.
I was hoping for linen. Feels more fitting for an Egyptian god. But, no luck. Howoever I did find some nice thick 100% cotton fabric.
I'm thinking of dyeing it blue (here's where my intuition came in while in the middle of the fabric store— originally I was thinking of simply going with white or off-white). I haven't found any color associations for Khnum but given his association with the Nile I assume that greens and dark blues would be just right. Now I'm debating with myself whether I should try to dye my fabric from a natural source as well (I feel like I've seen a billion red cabbage dye tutorials before and can't seem to find as many anymore), which is something I have NEVER done, or just play it safe and buy commercial fabric dye.
