Something I love about the pony fandom that goes under-appreciated is how diverse people's inspirations are.

A brony musician finds it amusing how people get into arguments on the internet due to simple misunderstandings? Have one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

There's one unique object in an empty field in an old version of a (since greatly expanded) MLP fan game? They're a popular OC now with hundreds of pieces of fanart.

A character sat on a bench in a slightly unusual way? Someone's written a fanfic about it so popular that it's seen physical print. It has a great song too.

An internet creature finds an incidental image on google maps that they find thought provoking? It's now the ponified art of an album so good I know people outside the fandom that've bought it.

I love the tendency for people to create something out of virtually nothing. I love people who can see beauty in anything - even the most mundane happenstances of life.

Please, never stop.

The story in the MLP show is sad enough already but this song adds so much more depth to it and it's fucking heartbreaking. Just fucking imagine having to face that you failed the person you loved most 365,250 times. SEVEN HUNDRED THIRTY THOUSAND AND FIVE HUNDRED TIMES IF YOU COUNT SUNRISES TOO. Either side of this tale is just impossibly fucking sad. And then it got set to the most hauntingly beautiful musical arrangement ever."

ok everyone talks about discord but you know what mlp fansong has no business going as hard as it does? lullaby for a princess. are you kidding me. the vocalist’s palpable guilt and pain in her incredible delivery. the incredible symphony. “bear up my lullaby winds of the earth, through cloud and through sky and through space”?! the choir coming in for “such is the way of the limelight, it sweetly takes hold of the mind of its host”?! and that lyric paralleling luna’s ‘possession’ by envy and by nightmare moon?! the heartbreak in the final verses as the bells chime?! “may these thousand winters swiftly pass I pray…” a fucking masterpiece. outshines many disney/broadway“showstoppers” and I’ll die on this hill.

Tulli showed me some.

Ponyphonic's "Lullaby for a Princess" and "The Moon Rises" are really impressive. Probably my favorite. "Anthropology" is fun. I always hear "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)" in it. I might reference it somewhere.

Fun fact about Lullaby for a Princess, someone made a song in response to it called Luna's Reply from Princess Luna’s pov. And if you look hard enough, you can find videos of both songs edited together as a duet.
