To see the Liberation Army hold its ground until every last soldier fell... That is true dedication.
It is clear that Nemesis is not some cruel King who holds his people in a vice-like grip. There is something more driving our foes.
From here on out, our journey will not be an easy one...
Guys, I found leaks for the War of Heroes script!

A large golden medallion with what's supposed to be a plus? A cross? The addition symbol? And a series of heavy golden chains. They reek of a certain cigar stank. The note reads: A lil thank u 4 my favorate…. (to: Cichol, from: ...Ratsphodel?)
Cichol made no urgency in helping the poor rodent in her heavy burden. In fact, watching her struggle to drag along the lofty pendant evoked some taste of symbology in his mind. Not that he could quite place it.
"Costume jewelry?" the man sneered at the offering, stooping to examine what was slowly crushing the animal. A mistake on his part, as his lungs filled immediately with the pungent odor of bold tobacco. "You thieved this from a vice den? Hand that here!"
With a swipe of long fingers, his fate was sealed. The addition-shaped medallion seared his fingertips. Before he could drop it in the shock of the pain, the entire man vanished into nothing more than a puff of... ash? Scattering and falling as gently as the snow.
Ratsphodel, ever-tidy, scurried to drag in a dustpan and sweep each particle into its tray with her tail. Including both fallen Moons, left blinking in disbelief on their dust-throne.
Done and dusted.

Do you ever think Claude put two and two together about Seteth and Flayn and them being the saints and all
Hilda: Okay that is ridiculous, there is no way the saints would still be alive, and certainly no way that Seteth would be one!
Claude: Okay, okay, I understand the disbelief, but just stay with me here. Hey, Seteth!!!
Seteth: Yes Mr. Von Riegan?
Claude: I heard this totally crazy story about Saint Cichol, did you know that he used to be a crazy alcoholic party man????
Seteth, wrinkling his nose: He certainly did not.
Claude: No he totally did, I found this whole thing by Saint Indech-
Seteth: Indech? Well I need to have a word with him about- uh. I meant. I meant that. Whoever did his must be punished for. Spreading blasphemy and lies. Ahem. Excuse me, it appears I have some business with a. Water dragon. *walks away in a huff*
Hilda: Oh my god.
Claude, proudly: Oh my god indeed, my poor sweet Hilda.

@randomnameless:
Oh I meant poor Seteth in a shitposting sense lol
Like when he goes "no Rhea, you can't go" she's all "yes, I have already asked Cyril btw, i don't care about what you say :)."
Or when he's all "I'm not sure it's a good idea to take Shez with us", she looks at him and then goes "ok Shez you can come :) "
To end with the ultimate reason why this super sacred shield is hidden in a mountain "Indech made it for Cichol, but Seiros passed it down to Great Emperor Wilhelm because he was just so awesome" and you can see how done he is with all her antics - it might not be the first time she "borrows" his things but he doesn't care anymore
I actually didn't really like how FE16 portrayed their relationship - maybe to highlight Billy's special status - as not downright antagonistic or negative, but Rhea's keeping things from him to the point where he can ditch her in CF because "she's not the same" anymore and he's ok with letting her die against Nemesis V.2. - something this game changed, as we see him doubt and initially refuse leaving her.
From the moment Shez meets them, we see through their interactions they're on the same wavelength - his words to Cyril about how he knows how Rhea thinks because they often think in similar ways have more weight in 3 Nopes, because here, we see how they interact.
Seteth is her (tired) older (brother?) relative and they have been working together for years !
She's not, like FE16 tried to portray, some cryptid he used to know but doesn't anymore to whom he feels some sort of obligation when his allegeance/bond switched to Billy. For instance, Nopes!Seteth would have rushed with Billy (or even rushed in first) as SS!Rhea was crashing in the cathedral, he wouldn't just be "there" letting Billy be the only one who cares enough to go after Rhea.
Even FeH tried to correct what FE16 tried to portray, Billy and self-insert privilege be damned, when Halloween!Rhea complains that Seteth would surely call her dress "immodest", implying he already made similar comments about her various attires (I think there's a 4 Koma gag too? Where he freaks out because she's in a bikini, but she bullshits him to play with other heroes).
FE16!Seteth? With the main plot's script alone, no one could imagine he would ask her to put more "appropriate" clothes, given how they are always talking about work, disagreeing on Billy and whatnot.
I wrote about it in another post, but by removing Billy and the doylist "self-insert", the characters still have bonds with others, bond that cannot be artificially thinned to sever them at will should you choose to create a bond between this character and the self-insert instead which is, thanks to "self-insert privilege" be, of course, the most important bond out of all bonds a character can have.
(iirc Seteth doesn't even mention Flayn in his Billy S-support?)
Back to Seteth and the other bonds he has, it's a damn shame Manuela had to join the Bullshit Eagle Sus Force (when she was the one who rescued Flayn and tries to heal Rhea after the Shambala expedition!!) but he had some professional relationship with her, Catherine and maybe the other knights (where's the Seteth'n'Alois support?? Oh right, Alois decided to ditch everything he is to follow Jeralt, because "Jeralt <3" is more important than anything else like his duty and his love for his job as a Knight of Seiros.)
He develops some relationships through the war with other people, and they can even become great friends, but I always disliked how FE16 proper underplayed the preexisting bond between he and Rhea.
At least 3 Nopes managed to correct it (3 Nopes is a wonder when it comes to Nabateans (bar Sothis), they can shine and flourish when they're not limited by the self-insert and their privilege!).
Now, I really wonder, what are Seteth's opinions on Rhea's various actions, like cooking up the lie about crests, the Elites and relics?
While I want to think he agrees it was the only solution to protect Nabateans without condemning the children of the Elites he would have had a lot more reservations about bringing Sothis back - regardless of what Heroes retconned but would have nonetheless understood where Rhea is coming from, if only on the "I just want this continent to know peace" angle.
(with a firmer "no" though on the homonculus projects).
I confess though, my vision of Seteth is partly biased because of his JP!VA, I love Koyasu so hearing Whitten's softer Seteth always feels odd lol
(btw, did you know Jp!Arvis in heroes is voiced by the same person who voices Bleach's Aizen? I'll never cease to cry about no dual audio in heroes)
That was definitely a result of the whole Byleth influence and needing to highlight them as the important main character, so Seteth relationship with Rhea definitely suffered from it. Really you could say a lot of stuff suffered from that relationship wise. I like Byleth as a character but I hate the way all the characters just kind of... get obsessed with Byleth. There are a few exceptions where it’s plausible, but the whole cast is too much for me.
The stuff in CF with them retreating and ditching Rhea if you let them survive I feel was more just kinda forced in because they had to somehow fit in the player sparing them but they still have to fight Rhea. Since it’s on Edelgard’s route, I guess you could also chalk it up to like, if the player lets them survive then they can’t just return to stay at Rhea’s side. In GW I guess it’s the same idea except they choose to retreat on their own, plus they’re well loved characters so I guess the devs figured it wasn’t necessary to have them killed?
I feel like Seteth got some better relationships overall in this game, kind of ironically considering his lack of supports. He doesn’t get as much agency in AM/VW despite being part of your main army. I understand the writers had to focus on the lords for each route, but they did better in Hopes as far as incorporating Seteth into the important talks in AG.
Manuela is definitely placed oddly to me because she hates war and bloodshed. I’d be hard pressed to believe she just went along with Edelgard’s motives (same with Hanneman, regardless that he isn’t playable in Hopes).
Houses imo did give a nice relationship to Seteth and Claude, so I’m sad that was taken away in Hopes. I liked the way they didn’t really trust each other but seemed to respect each other by the end of VW? They were able to put their awkward interactions behind them from the Academy and work together.
My guess on Seteth’s feelings/opinions about what Rhea does regarding Crests and all is that it’s a necessary way to keep things from getting out of control in the future. Kind of like, a necessary evil? I don’t think he would agree to that kind of thing with malice toward anyone else, but if it put Flayn in danger for the truth to be out there, he’d probably just accept it.
In Houses he didn’t know about the Sothis-Byleth connection, but I guess that’s because maybe Rhea expected him to not be okay with it and so hid it from him. I have some other thoughts on it too though.
I also love Koyasu! hurr hurr levin’s voice actor too kEK
Heroes techhhhnically has dual audio, but you have to change the language of the text itself too and play the whole game in JP.

WAR OF HEROES;; SUSTAINED INJURIES
[ I’ll be trying to answer some of the angst/hurt asks tonight so I figured, I might as well put this headcanon out here for context’s sake. It is known from information within the game itself that Seteth is no longer able to transform into his draconic form due to injuries sustained during the War of Heroes, so I wanted to expand on that. ]
For now, let’s focus on the final battle;; in Tailtean Plains, Seiros and her forces face Nemesis and his Ten Elites for the last time, the battle to end this decades-long war. Both sides sustain heavy losses, and it is also the battle where Cichol loses his wife, presumably loses his eldest daughter, and sees his youngest get grievously wounded. Cichol himself faces the Elite Goneril and his mighty axe Freikugel in battle-- the weapon that has already killed his wife and severely wounded Cethleann, now lying unconscious, half-protected beneath her mother’s corpse. In his rage and despair, and with the added exhaustion of a whole day of battle, Cichol is sloppy-- and so Freikugel eventually strikes home, bringing him to his knees. But Goneril does not go for the kill, no. She wishes to maim and torture her prey first, and thus drives the blade of the legendary axe right in the middle of the downed saint’s back, all but severing his spine and destroying the nerves and ligaments between thoracic vertebrae T8-9;; effectively rendering Cichol unable to get back up and continue to fight her. But alas, as humans often do, she gloats for too long over her presupposed victory...
Driven by agony and rage, having crawled next to the bodies of his family, Cichol transforms for one final time-- and he calls forth the Earth that’s under his command, the ground around him erupting in crystal spires that soon get soaked with blood as they pierce friend and foe alike, killing Goneril and creating a crystal cocoon around the spot he and his family have fallen, shaped like the blooming petals of a flower (imagine Molly’s castle from the Entei Pokemon Movie, but more spikey)... It is in there his siblings find him after the battle, unconscious and no longer in his draconic form. While his wife is dead, he and Cethleann survive despite their grievous injuries. Cichol wakes up a month after the end of the war, and spends the next year or so undergoing extensive healing to restore his ability to walk without excruciating pain. Eventually, he does get back up on his feet.
However, the damage done is permanent and affects him to this day, thousands of years later-- if he strains himself too much, such as spending too many hours on top of his wyvern, or sitting in his office without a break for prolonged periods of time, the old injuries flare up, and the pain may range from purely an annoyance, to bad enough that he is forced to take several days of bed-rest before being able to walk without trouble again. Of course, being a stubborn bastard, he often, ah... doesn’t give up unless he literally has to be carried to his rooms. It drives poor Flayn crazy with worry.
As to how this links to his ability to transform;; the loss of said ability is attributed to psychosomatic factors. Technically, there is nothing stopping him from transforming. The injury itself has not robbed him of it, because he’s as much a dragon as he’s a human...oid creature. But whenever he has attempted to let that part of himself take over, he has been met with flashbacks of the battle;; of the pain he went through, of the debilitating fear, of the heart-shattering despair of seeing his wife and daughters die, of the years Flayn spent comatose to heal from her injuries. And thus he just... cannot bring himself to transform. Not with all of this weighting down on him and effectively sending him into an anxiety attack (at the very least), every time he tried to. So, after a while, he just... stopped trying. Accepted that he had lost that part of himself, and just had to move on. With whatever that entailed.
Of course, this changes after he’s captured and experimented on by Those Who Slither in the Dark, and is essentially forced to transform... but oh, well. That is a headcanon for another time !

All hail Saint Woobiegard for reaching out her merciful hand to that poor scared woman-I mean girl from the Western Church who has done nothing wrong at all! Who cares that Western Church has been repeatedly stated and shown to be murderous and discriminatory and already attacked the monastery and students/staff? I wanted to gag reading that whole stupid scene. Also WOW at that line Lysithea says about Seteth and Flayn hiding info about why they're fighting. You know, unlike A CERTAIN SOMEONE!
He really did turn that fully grown-ass woman into a quivering little girl! Had it to where she was there for Cetheann when literally all of them were there for Cichol!! Made a racist/xenophobic murderer into a poor wittle teenager!! Anything to victimize and infantilize women I guess!!
AND UGH the demonization of the Lettuce Fam is soooo fuckin' bad and it never gets better

💘 Right back at'cha (pick whoever, probably Cichol)
You did a pretty good assessment of Cilithe here, however, Eihol (Eye-Hole) is a way funnier ship name. Definitely agree that Cichol and Eilithe aimed at the same target would operate similar to how she and Kurel do. Dangerous as hell for anyone standing against them.
I can see Eilithe mistaking his cheekiness as an attitude, which would then spark her pettiness.. which would then end in them arguing way too much. But if they got beyond that? It'd be solid. This is disregarding some other factors but still, a solid 7/10 maybe an 8 if they got beyond issues. Here's some more:
Gladithe 3/10 Terrible. This is putting aside the notion that Eilithe views Gladeriel as akin to her son, Threshad. So just, pretending that doesn't exist entirely. I think that E and Glade both understand touch as a language-- so they'd get along in that regard without having to say much. However, E's too jealous a person to be with Glade beyond that. They'd also end up feeding each other's tempers and that would just become explosive and maybe violent. It'd also be weird because Eilithe comes with five goddamn kids and what Chad wants to be a step-dad. Thanlithe 0/10 Poor Thanfred needs a wife, like a sweet farm girl or something. Admittedly, I've met this character one time SO maybe there's some hidden aspect they'd get along well with but I feel like E and him would ultimately not be compatible at all. HOWEVER, I can see-- assuming they got to know one another better, E might pseudo-adopt him.
Eiwyn 6/10? 8/10?
Surprisingly? I think E and Lewyn would end up being a good couple, unexpected, but good. There's a couple sides to Eilithe, and I think Lewyn might appeal to the deep thinker in her. She has a draw to mysterious men and she'd definitely enjoy trying to figure him out. So this is actually more of a friendship now that I'm thinking it out because sex is important to E and I don't know that they'd get on well there. But definitely, the potential to end up talking late into the evening about strange things. Ope, and the other 'negative' is he's with the guard-- which isn't a bad thing but Eilithe's not immune to making a morally grey choice that might piss him off-- or force him to have to arrest her.

Digimon Adventure x Fire Emblem Three Houses AU
AKA the AU in which I plop the cast of Digimon Adventure in to Three Houses and watch what happens. Neat.
First of all, shoutout to my pal Ashley who schemed this whole thing up with me one night when we got bored. She proceeded to watch the entirety of Tri. with me in under twenty-six hours, so she’s one of the real ones.
Second of all, none of the parents are in this. Why? Three Houses relies on parental angst, and all of the Digimon parents are too good to be involved with shit like that (yes I know we don’t know Jou, Daisuke, or Miyako’s parents shh it still applies). The exception to this rule is Hiroki (Iori’s father).
Third of all, I’m adding daggers to this AU. Why? Because I said so.
With that said, let’s get into this.
First House: Crimson Lizards
The first house of this universe replaces the Black Eagles. It covers the region on the southern area of the continent known as the Adrestian Empire. Its leading family is the Yagami line.
Taichi Yagami - House Leader - Minor Crest of Seiros Taichi is an axe fighter with a Crest of Seiros. He’s the leader of the Crimson Leaders and the future ruler of the Empire. He’s confident and optimistic, easily earning the respect of those around him thanks to his natural charm. However, this hides a few dark secrets involving the Yagami line.  Taichi’s courage is unmatched, and he fights with a bold battle style to prove this. He relies on axes and gauntlets as his main weapons. He has an advantage in both as well as authority. Meanwhile, his skills with faith and reason magic are poor, and he’s not great when it comes to flying either. He has the potential to be good at armor as well when trained. Taichi is fast with high strength, able to obliterate most of his foes easily, though he suffers from poor magical resistance.  Taichi was one of many children born between the emperor and his many consorts. He had a variety of older and younger siblings, but he was the only one born with a Crest, prompting him to be named as heir to the house. One by one, the rest of his siblings disappeared, and none of them resurfaced saved for his younger half sister, Hikari. He has grown incredibly protective of her as a result. Taichi also grew up as a close companion of Sora, and the two are close friends even years later.
Sora Takenouchi - Noble Student - Minor Crest of Cichol Sora is Taichi’s childhood friend and heir to House Takenouchi, a powerful house within the Empire. One day, she will grow up to become the prime minister of the Empire, but she is far from being a typical noble given her personality. She’s Taichi’s primary confidant as well since they grew up together. Sora is a mercenary, fighting with swords and gauntlets a good chunk of the time. She is also good with lances, and she has a budding talent in both faith magic and flying. However, Sora struggles when it comes to heavy armor or horseback riding, and she’s poor with daggers as well. She relies primarily on skill and speed when fighting, though her strength and defense are also strong. She’s well-rounded, but she fails to excel in a given area.  Sora grew up with the expectations of the world on her shoulders, and she grew to loathe the way others ignored her feelings in favor of their own opinions. Taichi was the main person to listen to her when they were growing up, and the two became mutually supportive of one another. Despite this, Sora could sense that Taichi was struggling with other things, prompting her to start bottling her emotions from a young age. She has become so numb to her own suffering that she believes herself to be incapable of love.
Koushiro Izumi - Commoner Student - No Crest Koushiro is the adopted son of two merchants within Adrestia, and he is the only commoner student in the Black Eagles this year. He is known for being incredibly inquisitive and curious when it comes to Crests. Koushiro admires all of his classmates, wanting to become closer to them after years of struggling to reach out to others.  Koushiro’s class is wyvern rider, meaning he has strengths in lances, axes, and flying. He’s not as strong in dagger, gauntlet, or horseback riding, but he does have potential in archery. Koushiro is a tankier member of the group, maintaining strong defenses and incredible strength. He is on the slower side though, and he is far from being strong in magic.  Koushiro’s birth parents were Crest researchers who stumbled upon a few things they shouldn’t have shortly after his birth. As such, they were killed by unknown figures who would later be revealed to have ties to the church. Koushiro was taken in by a few distant relatives, too young to remember his birth parents. He remained curious on the subject of Crests like his parents were, and he still tries to find out more about them despite not knowing of his true heritage.
Hikari Yagami - Noble Student - Major Crest of Fraldarius Hikari is the younger of the two surviving Yagami children, though she is not set to inherit the Empire like her brother. She is on the shy side, but she is still known for her empathy and kindness. Hikari lived a rather sheltered life, so she is simultaneously curious about and afraid of the world at large. She hates the dark greatly due to her past.  Hikari acts as the healer of the class, specializing in faith and reason magic. Her skills with a bow aren’t bad either. However, she is poor in the categories of heavy armor, axes, and gauntlets, leaving her as the opposite of her brother. Hikari’s weaker constitution contributes to her being stronger in the magical fields, and she’s highly lucky as well, but her defense from physical attacks is very low.  Hikari was born without a Crest as a child of the emperor and one of his consorts. As the years passed by, her siblings started to go missing, and Hikari was one victim of such. She was taken away from the palace where she was experimented on by Crest researchers involved with the Church of Seiros. Hikari was the only person to survive the horrors, and she wound up with a Major Crest of Fraldarius despite not being great with physical weapons. Only Taichi is aware of the truth behind what happened to her, as he was the only one she told after returning from the experimentation. Hikari tends to avoid using physical weapons most of the time, claiming instead that she doesn’t have a Crest unless she is forced to reveal the truth.
Second House: Azure Wolves
The second house is known as the Azure Wolves, and it consists of students from the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus. The ruling family of Faerghus is the Ishida line.
Yamato Ishida - House Leader - Minor Crest of Blaiddyd Yamato is the somewhat stony and closed-off leader of the Azure Wolves. He isn’t a bad person in the slightest, instead being an incredible person to rely on when he gets to know someone, but he fears reaching out to others. Yamato is very defensive of his younger brother, Takeru, and such can drive him to extreme lengths at times.  Yamato’s class is soldier, meaning he is skilled with lances. He is strong with swords and authority as well, but he is far from being a mage, possessing poor skills in faith and reason magic. Yamato also suffers when it comes to flying, but he does show potential with daggers. He has high strength, speed, skill, and defense, but his luck and resistance are far from being the best.  Yamato’s life began with him living alongside his brother, Takeru, in the palace of Faerghus. This all came crashing down when his parents split in a bloody divide. His mother and Takeru moved away, and the two brothers didn’t see each other again for years. Yamato made friends with one of his guards, a young man named Kyukichi. Yamato found himself falling in love with Kyukichi, and the two became incredibly close over the years. However, Kyukichi was defeated in battle, leaving Yamato paranoid about reaching out to others in case they died as a result. Shortly after Kyukichi’s death, news reached the Ishida household of a tragedy in a nearby territory: Yamato’s mother had been assassinated, and Takeru was gravely injured in the attack. This was the first time the brothers saw each other after their family split, and Yamato was far from being happy. Yamato was dragged back to the palace without Takeru, but his concern for his brother only grew. The two were apart until they came to attend classes at the Officers Academy together a few months later.
Mimi Tachikawa - Noble Student - Minor Crest of Daphnel Mimi is a kind, empathetic young woman with a strong distaste for violence. She is a firm pacifist even in the face of bloodshed, never wanting anyone around her to get hurt. She is prone to being overwhelmed by her emotions, causing occasional outbursts on her end, but she has good intentions. She is set to lead a noble family upon coming of age.  Mimi’s class is the pegasus knight. She is strong in lances, flying, and faith magic with a budding talent in reason magic. She isn’t anywhere near as strong where axes, horseback riding, or armor are concerned though. Her fighting style is reliant on skill and speed in particular, but she is otherwise rather well-rounded.  Mimi grew up in a life of danger, always fearing what could lurk around the corner. She knew that she was set to inherit a noble house, and the dangers of such became apparent to her from a young age. Many guards of her family’s estate were forced to sacrifice their lives for Mimi, and in some cases, she witnessed their demises. She grew to detest violence, wishing that she could give up her status if it would stop people from giving up their lives for her. She only fights because she knows that there is no other option. Unlike how Sora grew up as friends with Taichi, Mimi and Yamato were separated throughout their early lives since neither wished to reach out.
Jou Kido - Commoner Student - No Crest Jou acts as the somewhat anxious over thinker of the Azure Wolves, always trying to think seven steps ahead. He can get panicky at times, allowing his fear to control him, and he is far from being a social butterfly. Jou still attempts to take responsibility as the oldest member of the house despite this. He comes from a family of merchants.  Jou is an archer. He has strengths in bows, faith magic, and daggers. He lacks prowess in heavy armor, flying, and authority, though he does have potential in lances. Jou is a bit of a glass cannon, relying on high critical chances and speed rather than his defenses. In particular, he is vulnerable to attacks from enemy mages.  Jou’s family is known for being a prominent line of merchants in Faerghus, but since Jou has older siblings (Shin and Shuu) to take up the family business, his parents wanted him to become a knight. Jou didn’t want this path for himself in the slightest though, instead wanting to heal others. He kept this idea private though, not wanting to let anyone down if he diverged from the path set before him. Jou takes up faith magic in private, and he secretly brews medical potions, though not even his fellow classmates are aware of such. Mimi is the first one to find out, but he swears her to secrecy.
Takeru Takaishi - Noble Student - Major Crest of Dominic Takeru is Yamato’s younger brother and a noble of Faerghus. He grew up apart from his brother, explaining the difference between them. Where Yamato is dark and quiet, Takeru is optimistic and hopeful, making friends easily. He’s a bit of a flirt as well, though he primarily uses his skills on Hikari, Daisuke, and Ken. Much like Sora though, he has a nasty habit of bottling his emotions.  Takeru is a mage, and he has strengths in faith magic, reason magic, and lances. He’s weaker in the departments of heavy armor, gauntlets, and axes. He has budding talents in both bows and daggers. He has high magic, skill, speed, and resistance, but his physical strength, defense, and luck are rather poor to contrast such.  Takeru, much like Yamato, was born to the king of Faerghus and a noble of a nearby house. Following a sudden divorce, Takeru went to live with his mother, who chose to use her maiden surname. He began to develop attachment issues, not wanting to lose anybody the way that he lost contact with his father and brother. These came to a head shortly after the death of Kyukichi when an assassin snuck into the Takaishi estate. Takeru witnessed the murder of his mother before being attacked himself. He received an awful wound to his stomach, leaving him struggling to get by for quite some time. Yamato visited briefly, and the two vowed to become close since they never had the chance to beforehand. Yamato was forced to return to Ishida lands, leaving Takeru alone to recover for the next few weeks. When the two met up at the Officers Academy a few months after the assassination, they were practically inseparable. Takeru’s unhealthy issues with losing people have remained though, and he would do anything to defend the newfound connections he has formed with both Yamato and the other ten students.
Third House: Golden Dragons
The third and final house is the Golden Dragons. It consists of students from the Leicester Alliance. The Alliance itself is led by the Motomiya family, and the house’s leader is Daisuke.
Daisuke Motomiya - House Leader - Minor Crest of Riegan Daisuke acts as the eternally loyal and upbeat house leader of the Golden Dragons. He is kind almost to a fault, believing everyone has good within them somewhere. He has a special way of drawing people out of their shells with his infectious nature. Daisuke greatly admires Taichi and Yamato from afar, though the former is the primary subject of his affection. Daisuke is a brawler, fighting primarily with gauntlets and axes. He is strong with authority as well, and he has a budding talent in sword usage. On the other hand, he is poor with lances, reason magic, and faith magic. Daisuke relies on high critical chances and his overwhelming natural strength, but his defenses are poor, especially where magic is concerned.  Daisuke is the younger of two siblings within the Motomiya household. His older sister, Jun, was not born with a Crest, meaning he was left as the heir to the family. Jun married another nobleman within the Alliance, so the two didn’t interact much and as such have a rather rocky relationship. Daisuke’s father was from Almyra, so both Daisuke and Jun are half Almyran. Daisuke has suffered under common misconceptions regarding Almyran people throughout his life, leading to him hiding his heritage. He doesn’t wish to be abandoned or left alone by those who he would otherwise be friends with, so he keeps the secret close to his chest always.
Miyako Inoue - Commoner Student - No Crest Miyako is a passionate spirit from Leicester, one of the few commoners at the academy for the year. She is talkative and open, always loyal to herself above all else. She can get a bit carried away at times, not thinking before she speaks in her worst of moments. Miyako comes from a prominent merchant family within the Alliance, but much like Jou, she is not set to inherit much of anything.  Miyako’s class is the thief, leaving her strong with swords and daggers. However, she has a strength in reason magic as well, contributing to her ability to become a dancer further down the line. She isn’t the best in faith magic, horseback riding, or axes, but she does have potential to get better in faith. Miyako has high resistance, skill, and speed, but she suffers from poor defense and being squishy where HP is concerned.  Miyako is the youngest of four children within her family, and she has always been regarded as the black sheep of the group, never quite living up to the expectations of others. Since there was never enough inherent trust for her to decide her future on her own, she was pushed into becoming a knight for the Motomiya family against her will. Miyako hates that her future has already been determined for her and longs to take back a sense of agency. Some find her to be abrasive and blunt, but this is truly a defense mechanism she uses to keep people from controlling her. Luckily for her, Daisuke has no wishes to completely manipulate her, leaving Miyako feeling most open and home around the other Golden Dragons.
Iori Hida - Commoner Student - No Crest Iori is the quiet, introverted son of a knight from Leicester. His father was a fighter for the Motomiya family, but following his death, the Hida family was left feeling somewhat empty. Iori is distant and perceives most situations to be black and white. He is rather stoic as well, keeping to himself unless he is otherwise called upon.  Iori is a cavalier with strengths in lances, swords, and horseback riding. He has a budding talent in axes, but he lacks aptitude in daggers, faith magic, and flying. Iori is well-rounded with an inclination towards skill and strength. He never misses his target and is known to critical hit rather often, but his luck is somewhat on the lacking side.  Iori’s father was once a renowned knight for Daisuke’s father, but he lost his life when defending the archduke of the Alliance. Grief came to be too much for the family, and Iori’s mother and grandfather moved far from the capital as a result. This string of events caused Iori to become somewhat distanced from his emotions for better or for worse. Daisuke’s family offered Iori a place at the Officers Academy as a way of paying back the Hida family for the sacrifice of Iori’s father, and he accepted it. He wishes to become a fighter for the sake of defending the weak. Iori can unfortunately be prone to polarized thinking, believing that all things are either good or bad with no middle ground.
Ken Ichijouji - Noble Student - Major Crest of Gloucester Ken is the son of a prominent family within Leicester, and his line is second only to the Motomiya family as far as power is concerned. Ken is kind and caring, putting the wellbeing of all others above himself. He is endlessly empathetic, but he can tend to keep his feelings inside at times. Ken is shy and requires patience to get to know, but he is a great supportive voice when he gets close with others. Ken is a dark mage, possessing primarily dark magic spells rather than elemental ones. He’s talented with daggers, reason magic, and authority with a budding talent in faith. He struggles with horseback riding and heavy armor, and he’s not great with gauntlets either. Ken is a glass cannon with high offensive stats, but he can easily be defeated between his lack of evasion and low defenses.  Ken is in truth the younger of two children within the Ichijouji family. His older brother, Osamu, had a Minor Crest of Gloucester and was regarded as a genius by many. Ken felt neglected when compared to Osamu, and the only thing he really had over his brother was having a Major Crest. Osamu gained renown as a knight, but he was defeated in battle after an unfortunate accident. Ken blamed himself immediately, feeling that somehow his inferiority issues had manifested in Osamu’s fall. When his parents were overcome with grief, Ken began to mold himself to be more like Osamu as a way of becoming the person his parents truly longed for. They didn’t notice a difference in his behavior, instead applauding the shift. Ken began to feel insecure in his true nature since he thought it wasn’t enough to be thought of as worthy by his family and people, and until he went to the academy, he made attempts to shove his true personality aside on multiple occasions.
Church of Seiros
The church is the primary religious institution of the continent, and it is led by an archbishop. There are teachers at the church as well, and they are meant to preside over each individual class.
Homeostasis - Archbishop - Major Crest of Seiros Homeostasis is the archbishop of the church, and she is known for being a kind, benevolent figure cared for by all. Her sweet nature is beloved by everyone. In truth, she is a child of Sothis and partially a dragon as a result. Homeostasis has ruled over the continent from afar for generations and has gained a perfect reputation over the decades. She has changed in recent years, becoming far darker because of the influences of...
Yggdrasil - ??? - Major Crest of Seiros Yggdrasil was once the ruler of the continent through the church, but he was forcefully usurped by Homeostasis nearly a thousand years before the current year at the academy. He spent countless decades attempting to regain his footing before getting rid of Homeostasis entirely. Thanks to his special abilities, he was able to seamlessly place himself in Homeostasis’ position, changing his appearance to match hers. In truth, Yggdrasil is Homeostasis’ sibling and one of the children of the goddess, Sothis. Yggdrasil took over after the death of the goddess, but he was a corrupt ruler. Homeostasis took over after usurping him from power, leaving him alive as an act of mercy. Yggdrasil took this as a chance to scheme for the future when he would return, and that time has finally come.
Gennai - Archbishop’s Assistant - Major Crest of Seiros Gennai is an artificial being who was created by Homeostasis to act as her assistant in keeping the peace. He shares her blood since she crafted him. Gennai has kept the truth of his heritage secret for countless years, and as far as any history books are aware, he simply appeared from nowhere one day and has been serving Homeostasis ever since. He has grown nervous around Homeostasis as of late though, recognizing that something is wrong but not realizing it is Yggdrasil.
Daigo Nishijima - Crimson Lizards Teacher - Minor Crest of Indech Daigo is the teacher of the Crimson Leaders. He was once a noble of a house within the Empire, but he stepped down after seeing how corrupted the system of nobles had become over the years. He is relaxed and laid back, caring greatly for his students. In particular, he has a close relationship with Taichi, who comes to him for advice whenever he is feeling nervous or unsteady.  Daigo is an armored knight with strengths in axes, gauntlets, and heavy armor. He has a budding talent in authority while he struggles in flying, horseback riding, and faith magic. He isn’t too fast, but his strength, skill, and defense more than make up for such a weakness.  Daigo was raised to be a noble for most of his life, but all of that came crumbling down shortly after he graduated from the Officers Academy himself. He realized after entering the world of nobility how corrupt the system was and knew that he couldn’t contribute to such in good conscience. He stepped away from his post and became a teacher. Daigo has grown increasingly suspicious of Homeostasis (now replaced by Yggdrasil), knowing that something has changed within her.
Maki Himekawa - Azure Wolves Teacher - Minor Crest of Lamine Maki is the Azure Wolves teacher who hails from Faerghus. She was born as the youngest of many children, and she was not given the chance to rule over her house. She went to the academy alongside Daigo and wound up following him in becoming a professor at the monastery. She is known for being blunt and somewhat harsh, but Maki does ultimately care for those around her in her own way. Maki is a myrmidon, known for her speed and skill. She has immense strength with swords and daggers along with authority. However, she is lacking in faith magic, axes, and heavy armor. Maki has potential in gauntlets. She is difficult to hit and often criticals between her high strength and evasion, but she suffers from poor defenses as well.  Maki was once Daigo’s classmate at the Officers Academy, but seeing the horrors of war firsthand caused her to grow dark and pragmatic. She wasn’t sure of what to do with her life, not wanting to fight but not having a noble title to take up either. In the end, she followed Daigo back to the monastery to become a teacher. She and Daigo have a positive relationship, though the true depths of how close they are remains unknown.
Yukio Oikawa - Golden Dragons Teacher - No Crest Yukio acts as the teacher of the Golden Dragons. He is a longtime friend of the Hida family, having once acted as a knight alongside Hiroki. He comes off as rather kind and positive, but he hides a secret dark side. All others know Yukio as a rather bright individual looking to the future in the name of progress, unaware of how scarily accurate this is.  Yukio is a dark mage much like Ken, having benefits in reason magic, daggers, and bows while struggling in heavy armor, axes, and swords. He has potential to get better in swords. He deals heavy damage but is rather slow and at risk of dying if he takes too many hits, especially from physical weapons.  Yukio was close with Hiroki leading up to his death, as the two attended classes at the Officers Academy years before Maki and Daigo did the same. They became knights for the Motomiya line together, but Hiroki fell while doing his job. This started to push Yukio off the edge when he couldn’t move past his grief, and he became obsessed with the idea of resurrecting Hiroki somehow. Yukio turned to dark magic, and he was eventually noticed by Yggdrasil, who said that such was possible if Yukio joined forces with him. Out of desperation, Yukio followed him, unaware that Yggdrasil had lied in order to manipulate him. Yggdrasil promoted Yukio to professor of the Golden Dragons as soon as he managed to take the place of Homeostasis.
Meiko Mochizuki - Monastery Assistant - Minor Crest of Cethleann Meiko is an assistant at the monastery who has taken shelter at Garreg Mach ever since a tragic incident left her an orphan. She is introverted and shy, hesitating to reach out to others due to her own awkwardness and paranoia. Meiko hates feeling alone despite her aversion to reaching out to others, leaving her a bit of an anxious wreck a strong majority of the time.  Meiko’s class is the dark knight. She has strengths with reason magic, faith magic, and horseback riding with budding talents in lances and swords. She is weaker in authority, heavy armor, and dagger usage. Meiko boasts high resistance, skill, and magic, but she can be rather slow and suffers from poor physical stats.  Meiko’s parents were killed in what seems to be a tragic accident at face value. In truth, they were killed by agents of Yggdrasil who were trying to get at her. Meiko was taken in by the church after the incident with Homeostasis treating her kindly. However, this was all a mask, as Yggdrasil had already replaced his sister as the archbishop. Meiko was essentially gaslit into staying at the monastery by Yggdrasil, who said that nobody would believe her if she spoke out. Gennai took particular interest in her, taking her under his wing unofficially. In truth, Yggdrasil was planning on using her for her skills with magic. She showed signs of being a prodigy from a young age, and Yggdrasil was planning on shifting such to fit his plans. However, Meiko wound up turning against Yggdrasil at the encouragement of Gennai when the moment of fate came.
Other
Yggdrasil’s Crimes Yggdrasil was responsible for the deaths of Koushiro’s parents. They were getting too close to realizing the truth behind his plans, so he had them killed and covered it up as an accident. In that way, Koushiro is rather similar to Meiko. Yggdrasil was also the one who sent the assassin to kill Yamato and Takeru’s mother. The plan was also to kill Takeru along the way, but he never got the chance to do so when Takeru unexpectedly survived the attack. Security was too high in the months afterwards for him to make any further attempts.  He also had the Crest experimentation performed on the Yagami children aside from Taichi. He spared Taichi only since he already had a Crest. Hikari was never meant to be rescued, and she was instead planned to be yet another powerful soldier as Meiko was. Empire soldiers saved her before she could fall to such a fate though.  Osamu did not die in battle as was explained initially. Instead, Yggdrasil kidnapped him and reached out, intending to use Osamu for his own purposes. However, Osamu lashed out and attempted to escape, prompting Yukio to kill him. At the time, Yukio was already under Yggdrasil’s thumb and willing to do his bidding. The truth behind Osamu’s death was covered up immediately under the guise of an accident during combat.
Kyukichi Kyukichi did not die as was once expected. In truth, he was born to a few firm followers of Yggdrasil, causing him to be raised under the idea that Yggdrasil had to rule the world. He was told to become Yamato’s friend to eventually stab him in the back, but Kyukichi was given orders to retreat before the full betrayal could play out, prompting his death to be faked as Yamato fell into despair. Kyukichi continued to work for Yggdrasil afterwards, though his faith began to waver after his next mission. He was told to infiltrate the Takaishi household as an assassin, meaning he was the one who killed Yamato and Takeru’s mother. After he nearly killed Takeru, he began to grow unsteady in his confidence, but he hid such for a while longer.  Kyukichi acts as a figure similar to the Flame Emperor, appearing somewhat often throughout the Academy Phase as an enemy before being unmasked shortly before the War Phase begins. He escapes only to return after time skip.
Plot
Academy Phase
Throughout the Academy Phase, the students do things that walk the fine line between helpful and harmful to Yggdrasil, not doing any serious harm to either Homeostasis or Yggdrasil to not draw too much attention to Yggdrasil while not damaging his schemes. Kyukichi appears a few times as a masked figure who seems to be neither friend nor foe, but he does cause some serious harm later on when given instructions to finish his previous mission of killing Takeru. While he doesn’t succeed in killing Takeru, the boy is once again horribly hurt. Yamato finds him soon after, and Kyukichi is unmasked in the struggle. Yamato goes into shock as Kyukichi escapes and Hikari heals Takeru’s injuries. Taichi wonders how Kyukichi was able to invade the monastery, and Yukio reveals his betrayal as well. Soon after, Yggdrasil arrives and reveals his true plans to the group, prompting them to scatter and go into hiding. The three nations are told their heirs are dead shortly before Yggdrasil’s forces lead a widespread invasion of the continent.
War Phase It isn’t until five years later that Daigo and Maki bring the students back together alongside Gennai and Meiko with plans of defeating Yggdrasil once and for all. The twelve students come together after spending years running from Yggdrasil’s forces and decide to help Homeostasis. In the end, they succeed, and Homeostasis is once again honored as the archbishop. Yggdrasil and Yukio are killed in battle, and Kyukichi is defeated at Yamato’s hands as well. Peace reigns over Fodlan at long last, and the lost heirs take over their thrones at long last. The rest of the students stand by them as well. Meiko and Gennai work with Homeostasis to properly reform the church with the former becoming the professor of the Golden Dragons in Yukio’s stead.
Ending Thoughts
I hope you enjoyed this big old tangent from me! If you’d like more from this AU, feel free to say so, and I can try to whip up a solid plot structure for it in the future! Now, I’m going to sleep since it’s 4:30 AM. I hope you liked this mess of a rant!

32 + 33 Wilhelm/Rhea
For the Trope Mash-Up meme [here]
32. Pregnancy Fic
33. Baby Fic
---
I guess I’ve already wrote the beginning part of this. The two would be becoming parents in the midst of their war against Nemesis, which...would complicate things, to say the least. Thankfully, they have help. What’s left of Rhea’s family are around: Cichol, and his wife (who I established in the part that’s already written). Cethleann is too young to be much help, but she’s still excited for her new cousin. Macuil isn’t exactly thrilled but Indech’s been pretty helpful, too.
Rhea (Seiros) is pretty dead-set on continuing to lead battalions into fights until she physically can’t move, and as a result Wilhelm becomes the fretful one in their relationship. Nabateans are hardy, she tells him, the baby can take it. To which he will always worriedly reply that human babies are NOT.
Eventually, though, it gets to a point where Rhea has to wait at base camp, pacing restlessly, until Wilhelm gets back. She’s supposed to be in bed resting, but how can she with the war effort going and everyone’s doing their part but her.
Wilhelm always pulls her close and holds her, gently laying a hand on her swollen belly. “You are doing the most important part,” he always tells her.
Nabateans, despite being dragons, do not lay eggs. But Goddess Rhea wishes she did. Childbirth was not something she ever wants to do again.
Things change once Lycaon is born. Now Rhea never wants him to leave her sight. The battlefield is the last place she wishes to step foot. Seeing her wondrous child and holding him in her arms fills her heart with more joy than she ever thought she could feel again. Wilhelm might have taught her how to love again, but Lycaon taught her to hope. This son of hers was the future. Her blood - her mother’s blood - and the blood of all her fallen family dwelled within him and perhaps not all was lost, after all.
Lycaon had his father’s brown hair and her bright green eyes. And her pointed ears. He would always giggle whenever she tickled them. As the boy grew, it became clear that he also inherited his father’s boldness and charisma. Even as a toddler she could see that the kid was destined to be a great leader, just like his father.
Wilhelm loved his son. All his life, he had never been certain about who he was and what he was meant to do. He would always face the world head-on, but there would always be a seed of doubt.
One look at his son and that seed was gone. His little family was by far the greatest achievement Wilhelm had ever made. Even becoming an emperor after growing up a poor farmer wasn’t as great a source of pride.
When Lycaon was a little older, Wilhelm started to teach him how to use a sword. Well, sticks that they pretended to be swords. Rhea absolutely wouldn’t allow any real weapon into her son’s hands at such a young age. Once disarmed, Rhea would go on to show her son how to be a formidable opponent without a weapon at all.
Their family was a happy one, despite the war. But it was still built on the foundation of a war, and war only takes. Wilhelm dies, leaving Rhea and Lycaon alone. Another important piece to Rhea’s heart is shattered beyond repair, and Lycaon - still only a boy - suddenly has to learn how to take his father’s place. How to be an Emperor. How to be a General. How to be a man.
Rhea is by his side for his whole life, offering support, guidance, and a mother’s love. But things are never the same. And after his death, Rhea’s decision is final:
She will never become a mother again.

6. What is the “type” of person they are prone to fall for? (Cichol and Glade!)
9. What is the worst or more embarrassing romantic encounter they've had? (Naddred :^))
6. What is the “type” of person they are prone to fall for?
Cichol:
"Funny enough, I actually answered a much similar question just the other day. So forgive me if you heard it already--my heart has yet the time to change." He winked with a grin.
"Truth be told, any fancy of mine I would ever put stock into were for... Let us face it, 'bad men'. You must know the type. Taciturn and poor with divulging or managing their feelings. Morals that justify their actions, going against the grain if not outright razing that grain. Ones true to only their nature."
A thin smirk creeped up.
"Dangerous, too."
Quickly, he sat straight, waving dismissively. "Think not that I have any intent to fix these men, or that I fool myself into thinking myself the 'special one'," the wave traded for a shake of his head, "On contrary, I never overextended my affection. They accepted the fool I am willingly."
Glade:
"I don't 'fall' for nothin'," he brusquely responded, shifting the arms folded over his bare chest, "But if we're talkin' the kinda babe I bother messin' with, we got only two qualifiers: tits 'n breathin'."
His smile faded after a few self-satisfied nods. "... A'ight, there's a li'l more to it than that," he rubbed his head just under his hairtail, "I try'ta not put my dick in crazy, for one. That's just trouble."
"Two I'm somethin' of an 'apex predator', yeah," he puffed up his chest with an arrogant snort, "... But I ain't a predator. Those meek things that ain't got their own spine to stand straight with. Goes with numero uno a bit," he slipped into a foreign tongue that can only be translated into Spanish for the sake of this localization, "... But those are clingy."
"My 'dream' babe? A real knock-out?" he scratched his head again, leaning back as he looked upwards for answers. "One tough bitch, with the kinda mind and body to keep up with me. But not like Treef's woman over there. Still has it in her to be uh... ladylike," the scratching turned to nervous rubbing, "... And cute."
Then, both hands were cupped out with weight. "But big tits."
"But perfect women like that don't exist."
9. What is the worst or more embarrassing romantic encounter they've had?
"There are plenty worsts..." he pushed a hand down on his shoulder as he rolled it backwards, standing vigilant over his balcony with cigar in hand. "... Could do with reflecting on something a little more lighthearted, though."
After a brief tap of his foot, something finally came to memory. "Guess one of the most embarrassing 'romances' was one I didn't even know I was involved in."
"Preface: back at my old base of operations, we had civilians just as we had combatants. We tried to keep them away from our facilities, but many of the prisoners of war were eager to enlist themselves into our ranks--even if they wanted to out of BDUs."
The cigar glowed with embers as it was inhaled, smoke slowly blown back into the night air. "There was a woman among them, still with fresh ink on her face. Technically liberated, she was more of an incidental rescue when I dispatched a pair of highwaymen. Hadn't realized they were holding her up."
"Became something of a... 'lost puppy' at my heels after that. Nosy about what I did and how I did it. Watching from both near and far, even if it meant sneaking into restricted zones. Disrespectful and mouthy at times in ways I believe were supposed to be 'banter'," he huffed, "Thought she was going for that 'father figure' dynamic, if anything. Not that I wanted anything to do with that."
"Didn't know this entire time, Anir had been orchestrating her growing affection for me. Giving 'romantic interpretations' on my dismissal of her. Goading her to become more and more forward. Encouraging her delusions. Apparently she saw herself as a 'rival' of mine and that she was going to 'make me worse'. All until he told her to 'confess' at a certain place and hour..."
His eye closes, pausing pointedly there. "... Which would be the same place and hour the two of us were together."
The eye opened again, ashing off over the rooftop below.
"I was confused, oblivious to anything. Never knew how he had time for that trivial stuff. Or why he'd bother with it. Then again, he was young too back then. But when I saw that laugh of his, I couldn't help but join him."
He sucked in the cigar again, exhaling gently to let the smoke crawl back up his face like a veil.
"I was already worse."

Unknown Brother AU
Okay, so Byleth's mother died during childbirth and Rhea took the stillborn Byleth and experimented on them with Sothis' crest stone to save their life right?
Well, there's no indication that Jeralt was actually present in the room itself to see the birth. Back then the men typically waited outside while the midwives and nurses handled it because it was improper and the men tended to just get in the way and distract the workers with their panicking. So, it stands to reason that Jeralt, himself, didn't witness the birth and just had the horrific consequences told to him. Hell, he may very well not have even known about the still birth Rhea's experiment to save the child until much later.
So, what if there was a second baby? And Rhea just didn't tell Jeralt because she was keeping it under watch to make sure it lived? She gave one baby back, and kept the other one just in case. It wouldn't even be hard if she only had trusted midwives with her and she was one of the people present for the birth. And if she rushed to her labs or whatever. Hell, she may have even been one of only two midwives. For her, keeping the babies secret could have been very easy, and in her head keeping quite about the other baby would be a kindness because it's not stable and could die any day. So she's got that baby in a lab, under observation, and she's going to tell Jeralt as soon as she saves it, she swears.
But then there's a fire, and Jeralt and the other babe are gone. And, suddenly, this baby is her only hope.
No one else knows about the baby, so she keeps him secret in her labs, tries desperately to save the vessel. She doesn’t have her mother’s crest stone anymore, but she has this child of her blood, so maybe... Maybe she uses a different crest stone. Maybe she does something else, either way, this child is saved. Rhea has plenty of experience creating life, after all. He’ll work, she thinks, he has to. He’s alive, but...he doesn’t have a family anymore. It’s up to her to keep him safe until he’s grown enough for her to know if he’s a success or not. And he’s so terribly frail...she can’t let him be exposed to a world that would harm him like it did his poor sister yet.
The child, a boy, probably doesn’t leave the labs. Bylad grows up in rooms he can’t leave and walls he can’t break. Rhea dotes on him, often brushing his hair and singing him songs. She’s the only parental figure he knows, and he listens to her, like a good child. He never cries, of laughs, or makes an expression, but he’s such a good boy. He listens to her to sweetly. Rhea raises him to sing, and he does. She raises him on singing, and dancing, and faith magic, and he learns like a good student. His face is impassive, but his manners or so good. He’s such a polite child, so good. Soon she grows comfortable enough with him to start teaching him just a bit of sword skills, to protect himself, not much, but enough. And just enough brawling to defend himself and then flee if he’s attacked. Though she focusing on Faith and healing and scriptures. She tells him stories about her mother, and she  His first time leaving the labs is when he’s fourteen. It’s not that he hasn’t seen the outside before, but it’s his first time being allowed to roam. Rhea tells him he can go wherever he wants so long as he doesn’t leave Garreg Mach. She tells the guards the boy is under her care, and she leaves it at that.
But this turns out to be a mistake, she learns, because this is when he start’s asking questions. “Why did the Holy Mother create us?” He asks a month later. He’s been spending much time in the libraries, reading through the books. The boy has one now, opened in his hands as he sits upon a rug, Rhea humming as she brushed his hair, a warm fire burning next to them. He’s been speaking more lately. Where before he was freed he’d only ever spoken a few words, unless he was practicing his singing or scriptures, now he’d taken up the most odd speaking habits. He keeps using “us” and using strange nicknames. It’s disturbing, but it’s a habit that will, with hope, fade. “Because I’m trying to save you.” Rhea takes his jaw and lifts his gaze to meet hers, “You and I are connected in ways you cannot yet understand.” “This vessel was crafted for a purpose then?” The boy questions, tilting his head. He’s so small, and even now, with his questions, he has no expression. “You were born out of love.” Rhea brushes a lock of his long hair behind his ear, “A deep, unending, devoted love.” “To which love was this one born?” His eyes meet hers, “His? Hers? Yours? To when can this child meet destiny?” How odd, where could he have heard such talk? “When you’re old enough.”
The boy drops his book, “When can this one...”  He trails off and refuses to finish his question. Rhea tries to coax it out of him, but he refuses, shaking his head and returning to his book, refusing to speak of what was on his mind. His first rebellion. Well now, that simply wouldn’t do. Rhea is stricter on him again. She doesn’t lock him away, but she severely limits what he is allowed to do. He isn’t allowed near the docks, or on the training grounds. So the boy spends his days in the library and practicing choir. Others find him unnerving, and rarely speak to him. So he drifts through the halls like a ghost, learning and praying and singing and sometimes cleaning just to have something to do. Rhea doesn’t see it coming when he tries to escape. He had been practicing Reason Magic in secret, reading and learning and hiding his self taught lessons. The boy must have been planning this for a while, because he sneaks away in the dead of night with a satchel of supplies. Rhea wakes to find him gone, no note, no sign of a struggle, no hints to where he had gone. No one in the monastery has seen him at all. Rhea spares no expense having him searched for. She sends out knights, students, everyone. It takes days to hunt him down, and when he is found he puts of a fight, shooting fire from his palms and fleeing. But he’s one child against a veritable army, and he’s returned home with ropes bound tight around his wrists and his expression blank as it ever was. “Why did you try to runaway, my dear?” Rhea asks him when he’s returned to her. “This one knows the Holy Mother’s plans for he.” The boy replies, “So he ran.” And that simply wouldn’t do. His rebellious streak has gotten too strong ever since she allowed him to roam. So he punishes him by confining him to his rooms, where he would not be allowed to leave without strict supervision from a knight at all times. He’ll not be allowed to roam again. And so things stay that way for several years. The boy is only allowed to leave for the library with a knight at his side, or to the choir with a guard. Then he’s escorted back to his rooms where he has dinner delivered to him. He tries to escape a few more times, but ever time he’s caught and returned, his restrictions getting worse and worse, until at one point he’s simply not allowed to leave his room at all. He restrictions are not alleviated until Brother Seteth Cichol and his younger sister daughter, Flayn Cethleann, are brought in to help run the Central Church more effectively. Seteht Cichol argues in his favor, and the boy is allowed outside and to participate in more activities so long as he’s with Flayn Cethleann. It is not freedom, but it is enough for now, and he dares not risk escape again. Then, during his twentieth year, it’s announced that Captain Jeralt has been found alive.

Part 1: So I was thinking of other secondary Crest effects esp in a Modern setting (I was the anon that sent the ask about them before), and I think I've got something for the crest of Cethleann. Maybe it causes general drowsiness (not to a dangerous degree unless one is in serious condition).
Part 2: This aligns with Linhardt's general disposition, and in the Modern AU! (non-reincarnation, meaning the dragons presumably aren’t immortal) maybe Seteth's overprotectiveness could be explained by Flayn getting into an accident when she was younger and her crest making her go into a coma. This could also support her trauma of being afraid to sleep and never wake up. I was wondering: what are your thoughts on this?
Y’know I vaguely recall Lindhardt mentioning in a support that he does stay awake, he just mostly stays up all night (and that’s why he’s tired all day). Soooooo vampire crest? Makes the bearers nocturnal?
Or it could heal the user more quickly while they sleep? That might be interesting and could tie into something with Flayn.
Since we’re talking about secondary crest effects again though...
Can Cichol just be, like, the himbo crest? I mean Seteth has spent many years hiding his himboness but let’s be real we can all see it. And Ferdie? You look that poor boy in the eyes and you tell him he isn’t the prettiest himbo at the ball.

Mister Macuil Sir- May I ask your opinions on your family?
Ugh. Who knew the first thing I would have to do is speak of my family. This is outrageous. But I am here to answer, so an answer you shall receive.
Seiros . . . Needs to get a life. Seriously, I’m starting to feel bad for the poor girl. She’s really loosing it. It’s the mommy issues for me.
Indech . . . Needs to man up. For being a great fighter you would think he has a strong personality as well. He’s the youngest brother so I don’t blame him. He was babied and still is.
Cichol. . . Irritates me to no end. Sometimes he looks at me and I want to break his stupid spear. He likes to blame me for most of his issues, but I know that’s the neglected child speaking and not his heart.
Mother . . . I rather not speak ill of her.

Poor Cichol couldn't take a rest, Indech trolled him later on to walk on their sister exchanging other kind of fluids with her human and he collapsed. Centuries later, when Manuela talks about a famous comedy she used to star in where a brother walks on his sister being busy and it's played for laughs, he immediately burns the script.
That gets it landed in the banned books pile 😂

I get bored from time to time, and I like to organize information in spreadsheets. It makes seeing patterns and information easier to me.
Today, I made one for the Sacred Weapons and their associated Crests.
Tumblr media
Looking at this got me really curious about the names the weapons, and their Crests.
Rhea said that she “took the name Seiros”, implying that her name isn’t actually Seiros. Of course, this could just be a translation error (as we know, Treehouse is notorious for taking liberties), and considering her weapons are called “Sword of Seiros”, let’s assume, for argument’s sake, that it was a translation error.
We don’t really have a whole lot of clues about the true names of the dead dragons. I was thinking for a while that maybe the clue is in the sacred weapons.
Unfortunately, this offers a whole spew of issues because so much doesn’t match.
Before I explain, let’s throw out anything that doesn’t fit the pattern of “Weapon of Blank”. This includes Caduceus Staff, Tathlum Bow, Ochain Shield, and The Inexhaustible.
We are left with the Sword of Moralta, Sword of Begalta, Axe of Ukonvasara, Spear of Assal, Sword of Seiros, and Shield of Seiros.
If we were going off the basic pattern (Sword of Seiros = Dragon named Seiros), then we can infer that, say, Axe of Ukonvasara belonged to the dragon Ukonvasara.
But this pattern doesn’t work once you consider the other weapons either. Spear of Assal belongs to Cichol, and is not named Spear of Cichol.
As for the Swords of Moralta and Begalta, they are associated with the Crests Fraldarius and Riegan respectively. Normally, we could assume that Moralta and Begalta are named of the dragons. However, they actually bear a different Crest on them: Chevalier, who at this time is implied to be the name of the Hero who drank the Snow Dragon’s blood (implied by the existence of a Hero’s Relic). What’s interesting, though, is that Moralta and Begalta are very similar sounding names.
Furthermore, not all the weapons are found in logical spots. Indech’s bow is found with him, but the Sword of Moralta is found with Macuil.
I really wish there was a deep, in-depth lore book that explained all this nonsense.
For now, here is my theory. It’s just guess work, and I wish I had more to back it up, but here we go.
Ukonvasara - Name of the dragon Gloucester drank blood from
Assal - Name of Cichol’s wife
Moralta - Name of the dragon Fraldarius drank blood from. Sibling of Begalta and child of the Snow Dragon
Begalta - Name of dragon Riegan drank blood from. Sibling of Moralta and child of the Snow Dragon
These are poor guesses, but they are all that I have. I guessed that Moralta and Begalta are children of the snow dragon because of similar sounding names, as well as sharing the same crest as the Snow Dragon. But that’s a poor man’s guess, and one I’m not confident on, especially since this doesn’t occur with Cethleann’s personal sacred weapon.
Other Random Curiosities
Why is Tathlum Bow in the Kingdom, when the Lamine Crest is in the Empire?
Why does Macuil have the Sword of Begalta? (Granted, he made the weapons, but still a curious question).
Why is Ochain Shield in Hyrm Territory, and given as a prize for saving everyone in Lysithea and Ferdinand’s Paralogue?
Why is the Axe of Ukonvasara near Garreg Mach? Was Rhea keeping it safe?
