A couple notes:

These are books I have read, with the occasional exception. I always state when I have not read a book I’m including in a post. May add to and edit posts when I read more relevant books.

I mostly include books I recommend, but to varying levels (and sometimes I'll include some I dislike but they might be worthwhile for someone else) There will of course be some of my personal bias to what I prefer (SFF, YA contemporary)

I prioritise books with aspec main characters. Will include the occasional side character if I have a gap to fill and it’s reasonably significant and/or the author is aspec. Like, would it be worth it to read the book just for this character?

however, when it's a main POV character, that doesn't necessarily mean it's extensively explored within the story, sometimes it's just a brief mention

The things I am choosing to group by are based on commonalities I’ve noticed. If I group by one thing but not something similar it's because there's not enough I've read to make a worthwhile post!

Most posts encompass ace & aro & the spectrums (because there's a lot of overlap in the books) but some are one or the other, and I've generally marked them as such here

sometimes I say [id] and sometimes [id]-coded in the descriptions - for modern settings that usually means the difference between uses-the-identity-word-explicitly or not using the word; and in fantasy/historical the difference between a clear description and like...vaguer allusions to it. I realise this is not exactly what coding means but I'm just trying to differentiate clearly but briefly because in many of these books it is only vaguely alluded to!

A short (or not) ramble of scenarios and questions for reverse: 1999 self aware. (sorry if this bothers you, I just don’t have enough confidence to post it on my own blog (plus I love your content))

- Okay so first of all, in the main page of the game, when you click on the upper left corner with your level and username, you go to a screen with Vertin looking fly as ever along with some user information.

So if Vertin can see the game’s ui, then she can see the year in which the player has joined the game (2023-2024). I haven’t dived deep into Vertin’s character so I can’t portray her reaction to much, but I feel like she would tell this info to someone close like Sonetto.

Also our motto: I put “When in a rush, say ‘runs in high heels cutely.’”. I’d be so embarrassed if anyone (even fictional sentient characters) saw that. Like im dead.

On that topic, when you mentioned in your Sonetto self aware post that she can sometimes see us, and honestly, I’d be even more embarrassed. Cause like, if any of the characters from games I played, were sentient and could see me, id pray they didn’t see my bad angle. Like imagine looking up to the sky to see, just for a second, the chin of a head as the hands go to scratch their nose. Like the first impressions I would make.

- P2p players. Imagine the player spending money on the game (at the risk of Vertin possibly seeing their credit card number) to help level up or get costumes for their fave characters.

(Some misc. questions)

-what would happen if player didn’t log in the game for a while (a week to a month as best) cause I would ditch some games to spend more time on others

- What does Vertin think of the mail messages that the player gets? Like the latest mail I got was the discord event invitation. Upon closer inspection and critical thinking, it would hint that there would be more players other than us because it says the winners get 60 clear drops (oh and money too)

- If I remember correctly, I think you mentioned about Vertin hearing the player sometimes. So imagine her hearing us trash talk certain character *cough* Constantine *cough*.

On the subject of Vertin seeing the player's profile.

With the way I intended to portray Vertin within the AU, I don't think she would be affected by the date on the Player's profile!

This is the date you came into contact with her from your perspective, whatever time and space that flows within your world, not hers─the world behind the fourth barrier that she cannot see nor hear nor even fathom, let alone try to make sense of. In a way, it's like expecting ants to care about concepts we made up, such as time. They understand night and day, they do not understand 3PM nor 8AM.

Is it truly proof that time can go beyond 1999, when this is something that only she can see? When it doesn't affect a single thing within her universe by being part of a game menu meant for your eyes only? There's also the fact that she finds out the proper time of the world in the 1.4 update, in Chapter 05.

Her dynamic with the Player is something I like to keep vague, so that everyone can fill in the blanks, but ultimately it is something so complex and private for Vertin─who sees it as a one-sided relationship, since she cannot hear nor see you, unlike other arcanists who may reach the 100% bond─that I don't think she would talk about it with anyone, not even Sonetto! The name on your profile and whatever message you've written there are secrets she will take to her grave. The idea of Vertin being the eyes and hands of the Player, but having no way to truly see or hear them makes for a really fun concept to explore!

And on the subject of messages, let's be honest, if you've written something funny or some modern shitpost, chances are she won't understand it LMFAO so it's okay! I literally just have my socials and "men enjoyer" listed there.

Oh! But since you brought it up, the message section could be a fun, little way to communicate with Vertin, since she can read what's on there!

As for P2P players, Vertin wouldn't see any information from the Player's credit card since that's something that happens outside the app lolol. Like, to me, it directly opens to google play transaction stuff.

On the subject of the player dropping the game for long periods of time.

Hmm, in the first post I said that there might be characters ouside Vertin and her suitcase who may be self-aware, with their own goals and such. But nothing truly "matters" unless the Player is there to witness it. So to keep including these possibilities and details, I feel like there's two options, pick whichever you like the most!

One, time continues as usual within the game─but once it reaches an important date where the plot is meant to kick in with some important event, it simply resets back to where you left it. This is a world that exists outside of your perception, but cannot continue without you.

Two, time freezes entirely within the game─but only for those who are not self-aware. Keep in mind we're talking about long periods of time, this wouldn't happen if you log in every day, or every few days. This is what happens when your phone picks up the fact that Reverse: 1999 is one of the unused apps taking up space in your phone. This is a world that stops existing once you stop looking at it.

In both options, the Wilderness would remain unaffected as it seems to be entirely disconnected from the flow of time and space outside of it.

On the subject of the game's mail.

Since the messages auto-delete and all, I can't check but I'm pretty sure Vertin receives mail too? There were a few ones from a few characters a while back like Druvis III or An-an Lee, and I think the implication is that they were vaguely addressing Vertin?

If someone has screenshots and can confirm this, please let me know!

Either way, the easy answer is that yeah, she knows this is a game, so she could make the assumption that there's more players. She has access to your friend list, after all! And even if you don't have anyone added, the fact that it exists is enough for her to start connecting the dots.

I don't remember saying that Vertin can hear the Player, though! I think I was pretty consistent with her not being able to see nor hear you, to have the Player as some sort of eldritch, unknowable entity. But I also write so much stuff in this blog that it's hard to keep up sometimes lolol, if I've mentioned somewhere that Vertin can hear the player, it was a mistake!

-------------------Story Information--------------------- The Dreamer is a reincarnation from a fragment of Folly's shattered mask post-cleave. However, her earliest memory is the great ones betrayal, and none of what followed. Similar to Folly, she doesn't trust easily anymore, but is a lot more scared and confused than anything.

The relationship between the two is strained, but protective. Folly often ends up speaking for Dreamer to elevator goers, but Dreamer is slowly regaining trust in the world, much to Folly's bitter displeasure.

Folly in this AU is a lot snippier than typical, and more outright mean in some cases, but also unintentionally showing another side to her in the instinctive protectiveness over the fragile innocence of her old self.

Dreamer is not allowed to leave the hollow/area/eternal limbo without permission and is discouraged from wandering.

Dreamers close and only friends are Lampert, Poob and Infected (Kasper). She met them while [redacted]

Folly is easily flustered if you catch her off guard.

Universe wise: Folly is aware there are multiple timelines, and many ocs/other versions of canon characters are not from this AU's timeline. Dreamer however, is not.

Delicious in Deltarune AU ramble !! Long post !!!!

(Ft Chimaera Hippogriff Dess doodles done in whiteboard)

Noelle, Kris and Susie end up retreating after getting to a lower level of the dark dungeon and encountering a darkner creature too difficult for them. They get separated from Dess, whom to their knowledge was severely injured before they got teleported by Noelle to the surface. After they recuperate and go on their way down again, they encounter Ralsei and Lancer, who join their party and help them along their journey.

Instead of monsters in the dungeon, it's darkners. Characters aren't specifically placed into dunmeshi character roles, but more so put into the world of dunmeshi. Deltarune's world and rules get adapted/intertwined with dunmeshi's. More info under the cut!

Kris - the leader. human knight with significant knowledge on darkners, can't use magic very well. Came from a family of royals. Their brother Asriel is a renowned knight.

Noelle - deer mage, specializing in healing + ice magic, beginning to get the hand of offensive magic. Comes from a rich family and went to magic school with Kris and Dess.

Susie - the party's tank, and 2nd magic user; a well known reptilian fighter among adventurers. Came from a poor family that she has since left behind.

Dess - the party's former leader, a deer mage with expertise in fire/light magic, but she can't use healing magic very well.

Ralsei - a royal mage with healing magic, main cook for the party. He's secretive about his past

Lancer - a runaway prince; he scouts out the environment/landscape for the party

Sans and Papyrus are searching for their missing sorcerer relative, who went mysteriously missing along with his party of 4

Berdly reluctantly joins mage Catti and fighter Jockington's party of two after realizing he can't venture through the dungeon alone. They don't want to admit that he's slowing them down however. When Kris' party find them, they’re facing off Queen and her minions.

I'm thinking some of the 'monsters' Kris' party could encounter would be different darkner bosses (I really wanna make them face off beast Spamton)

The layout/floors of the dungeon could be based on different dark worlds ??

Still figuring that out along with the dungeon's legend/prophecy (rn I'm thinking it involves a bit of the monster and human in the opening of undertale and a bit of the delta rune prophecy)

From the list I posted yesterday, I'm gonna start with the Dan Heng x Reader MDZS inpsired fic first.

Characters and plot won’t be as accurate to the inspired plot. Especially for this story which involves a lot of adults and teens an not much children.  So many characters are left out simply due to the fact that a lot of npcs either didn’t fit the role, or were far too young for my standards.

I literally looked up all the different alliance of Xianzhou just to see which would be Wen sect. So here’s the reasoning.

Luofu: They don’t really have a specialty. Their main goal is to take out abundance cult.

Yaoqing: Much like Luofu, don’t really have a specialty. Aggressive and good at martial arts.

Zhuming: Their main export specialty is porcelain. According to Fandom wiki, the people here love playing with fire.

Yuque: They export jade abaci, thus making me think they’ll be wealthy due to it and technologically advanced/smart.

Fanghu: Exports a lot of marine things. Though it would make since to have Dan Heng come from here, but it would not make sense for other characters like March and Jing Yuan to have been born here. And it’s the closest in description to Yunmeng.

Xuling: Not much is really stated about this place on Fandom Wiki, but it looks like a place of law. But piggybacking off of the fact that not much is written about this area, Imma just gonna liken this area to Burial Mounds.

Like 1 year ago I came up with a ROTTMNT au idea! First I wanted to make it into a comic, and finished drawing the first 7 chapters before I decided I no longer liked the art style I was using. So, of course, I went back to redraw all of the pages with my updated art style

So the Xi design part 3

I've decided to stretch this series, today is just the weapons, the Flight mode will get an entire post about itself so let's talk about those armaments:

(using novel lineart cuz the movie version didn't get those)

So the Beam Rifle and shield, the standard combo for any mobile suit ever made.

The rifle is pretty standard spec, aside from it's size as it was build to accommodate the extra large manipulators of the Gundam, the only specs on it that we get are from the Xi's manual and that it is strong enough to one shot Gustav Karl, design wise rifle doesn't really match any other Federation/Anaheim beam gun to date with it's oversized hand guard and lack of the usual massive block behind the main senor, if the rifle was made to fit the hands of standard unit it'd be one of the smallest in the UC.

The Shield itself also just follows the design of the Xi with it's spikes and edges while featuring a lot of design cohesion, the movie does make the shield look small when compared to the giant target that is the Xi, the thing is however as per manual the shield is strong enough to withstand a Mega Particle Cannon, making it more likely that the Xi was expected to use it's high speed and maneuverability to dodge and weave all the small arms fire while using the shield purely against the high strength beam weapons that it had no way of outrunning, also something that isn't shown in the movie but can be seen in the lineart (and in GB4) is that the shield is equipped with a small beam gun.

Now onto the Missile funnels, once again using the Novel lineart cuz the movie didn't get one:

So as I mentioned in the last part these are stored on the back skirt meaning that beside some texturing they don't add anything to the design, these little guys are just missiles that use Newtype magic to track targets in high Minovsky density spaces, (also side note: I wanna say that the fact that the lineart shows these also be hyper spiky like the Xi is great), the main thing that interests me in these is how these are actual proof that Hathaway "Newtypes don't exist" Noa is a Newtype himself, Hathaway might say that he denies their existence but in reality he does know they're real, he probably even knows he's one himself, he just can't support their existence because why would the Axis Drop not change anything about humanity.

Now onto the 2 major weapons, for which images I could not source in no way, the Triple Missile system and the Mega Beam Canon (which might not even exist in the movie version)

The Triple Missile System (A name which exists un-cited on the only english Gundam wiki the fandom one, I choose to use it because I like it) the 4 major spikes on the suits limbs are actually containers for these, they are busy, eyecatching and large just like the entire suit and that fact makes them perfect as the main weapons. They are like a microcosm of what the suit is.

[Warning: the following information might not actually be canon to the Animated UC timeline but the Xi has so little canon material written on it that I need to mention it]

since the Mega Beam Cannon might not actually be real (though it appears in GB4) I will not say much on it other then the fact that it is usable as part of the the flight form as they're hidden directly under the Minovsky Flight wings.

So last and certainly not least the Beam Sabers, and the Xi's most direct connection to the v Gundam.

So the Reason why the Xi is called the way it is is that it's the direct follow up to the v (please ignore the the RX-94 through RX-103 and the Odysseus/Penelope) but their only points of connection are the name and the beam sabers, the ones the Xi wields are almost identical to the v, except they're like most equipment upsized to fit the Xi's hands, and honestly I love it, the dual beam design is so good and more MS's should use it

What is Casus Vallis?

╰┈➤ It is a small, fictional valley town hidden in a mysterious set of mountains. It is the setting where the story takes place. You can find a basic map of Casus Vallis at [the link here].

╰┈➤ Hidden within the crevices of the town is a mysterious pool that traps people in a horrifying world often called The Mirror World. It is the secondary setting where the story takes place. You can find a basic map of The Mirror World at [the link here].

╰┈➤ Several different characters live in Casus Vallis, most of which being college students who attend the Casus Vallis College of International Arts. With a total population of 3000 in the whole town, and a population of less than 1000 students, the land is small and quaint, but with a lot of history. The story centres around six college students who have to come together to protect the town and solve its many mysteries.
