A few preproduction things for the short film i really like my usual tma designs, but for this project i definitely had to simplify the characters, wish i could keep martin's freckles or tim's terrible shirt patterns, but alas, i'm not animating that shit. From Flower Fruit Mountain / Mt. Huaguo, Dil (golden langur) and Murni (silvery-leaf langur) are tired of the simple fruit, leaf, and meat platters. So, they decide to travel around the world to eat “all the food” for their honeymoon.

As part their travels, they end up in a Vietnamese Seafood Market. Dil finds the local selection so delicious that he offers it to Murni. In the top right corner is their friend Saffron (golden snub-nosed monkey), who tries to steal a crab.

These are some of my initial tests for my upcoming short film “Go Grandpa Go!” set for release this May 2025! The film is about the Tiktaalik, here you can see my fabrication tests for how I am imaging constructing the fins, bones, and the head.

Today my animation pre-production tutor showed us a concept art video for Klaus (a gorgeous film that I am aware of but, regrettably, haven’t seen yet). And when I heard that little mailman’s voice in those clips, the gasp I gusped.

My ears perked up like a lil puppy dog because HOLY SHIT. HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS WAS JASON SCHWARTZMAN. HELLO???

anyway. Rebranding this blog a bit today. Keeping the username but changing everything else. Be prepared.

"The Things We Fear"

Coming out around this May!

Summary:

A creature like oil and ink invades the home of a suburban family to inspire fear and terror. However, the monster (which we are calling Derek for short) discovers that this family has a unique way of dealing with their fears. In this comedy, the monster does through three levels of a house and each time fails in spectacular ways!

(Here is my character pitch for their early designs. The boy's design is the one that stayed while Granny and Mom have a different design today!)

Progress update on the Glitch Hunter HQ set modeling: At a point where I feel like once I get the curved windows in, I can call at least the front facade of the building done and can move into modeling the rest of the building and floor plan.
