Welcome to Commission Information Post Part Two, Electric Boogaloo! This time, we’ll be going over my $20 doodle commissions!

First things first: they’re $20! Whether your character is a cat, or an 8-limbed dragon/human hybrid.** Do you want another character interacting with the first one? That’ll be +$5 for each additional character! Do you have an idea of a character you want to create, but don’t have a reference drawn? We can make it come alive together! the company i work for decided that its switching from the german formal "You"(Sie) to the informal "you" (Du) in all of our websites so now we have to scour the entire database to change it and i quite frankly hate that, not just bc the unecessary extra work but especially bc its such a weird and unecessary change

i bet its bc everything here is getting englishfied (both literally and culturally it feels like, when my new boss talks its half in english bc every second german word is just replaced by an english one despite there being perfectly fine words for it in german too, its so annoying) and bc they want to sound more personal in hopes of getting more clients bc 'company is your fwiend uwu!!', i know this here is the amercian tm site so you wouldnt understand really but i do not want to be greeted with 'du' by companies, no, thats too personal, you dont know me and im not giving you my data, stay away!!

i guess thats how i would describe it .. the formal you is like a polite distance, like someone you dont know staying outside your personal space, but when its the informal 'you' it feels invasive unless i told you you can call me that, and that goes double for companies

maybe its a small thing that doesnt seem important but i cant stand it, im just a little part time worker doing data work so i got no say in it but the companies founder also announced hes giving his post to his kids some time ago so ...... since then theres been alot of changes and new projects that solely aim to imitate whats popular and whats done by other companies, despite ours being one that is, or used to be, intentionally different, like, that was the POINT, but i guess chasing trends is just too appealing for CEOs

Sigh. I've been bullied. I guess. I did a big swing and a miss on last years list, but I have a Plan this time. A Theme. A Goal. This will be mostly comprised of my Illumicrate books so I can decide if it is in fact worth it to keep my subscription going until the Alecto edition gets announced. If I don't actually enjoy the majority of the books in these boxes then what's the point, yknow?

PHEW. Okay. A fw things to note. A Dark and Drowning Tide is an Illumicrate book, but I didn't pay for it. A friend gave it to me after I skipped that month because she wasn't interested. I always look up book spoilers and skip if I'm not interested and if I'm uninterested in any of the stuff I'll skip even if the book seems neat. That month the box was full of fandoms I didn't care about, so my friends said "here, take my copy" and I said "yay! Free book!"

Cutting in during the month of April to say Until We Shatter was also probably given to me by a friend because it's NOT in my order history and I don't have the stuff in that box but it IS on my shelf?? Wild. Where'd it come from.

The Last Hour Between Worlds I think was also an Illumicrate book? They do fanart for it so I assume it was at some point. I did not get it. This is not the IC edition. I was not thrilled about The Tethered Mage so I was going to get this out of the library. Then my mom bought it for me for the holidays. So yay! Free book!

I think I would also like to keep track of books I purchase this year. I'd like to cut down on buying books that I won't love. So I'd like to utilise my library more. Win win, I think! And that seems easier than a full out ban since yeah sometimes I do enjoy little treats! Books purchased for other people do not count, obviously.

There are also some books I'd like to reread this year, mainly The Bone Maker because I've been saying that since I read it the first time. And honestly, I've been chasing the same vibes and haven't been able to match it (Godkiller got close!).

As usual, I reserve the right to pretend this post doesn't exist, but I think I've set myself up for success here :)

If this vacation bit falls thru completely (it's an absolute rollercoaster of hope/crushed hope/hope again rn) then I really need to get a new phone. It works fine for weekday usage, because my stand at work is its charger, but days off where I'm using it then either pocketing it or setting it next to me just drains the battery SO FAST. And if I try to use the camera, or watch videos, or hell even listen to music with the screen off? It dies even faster. And since I have to use wired buds at work now (I can't hear thru wireless ones for some reason, so I miss if my desk phone rings, etc) that just means the battery dies before it's time to drive home.

if the vacation DOES happen, then whatever, I don't need to take pics at Disney world, except for Galaxy's Edge, because it'll be my fourth trip overall AND my second trip at Christmas, so there won't be anything else I NEED pics of. And yeah, I'll still be on Tumblr throughout the day even at Disney world, but it wouldn't be like how it is when I'm home so the battery should be mostly idle and a non-issue. Plus I could keep the charger in my bag and plug it into a wall while I eat if I had to.

Whether a phone replacement is in the future or not, tho, I'm going to start comparison shopping so that when the decision to replace does come down I can immediately order whatever I've researched or its current equivalent at that time. My guess upfront is that it'll be whatever "a" series version of the pixels is current at the time, because I'm adamant about having Google's android and not an OEM (I've never met an OEM I liked). And while I like having the regular (not xl) version of each model, I recognize that price is going to be a factor so I'll probably downgrade the series.

Also, if no vacation, I'm not only getting the phone but I'm getting more art and continuing my loaded teas even at their ridiculous pricing. I'll give stuff like that up for vacation saving, but if I'm not getting a trip out of it then I'm going to at least get all of my small luxuries.

I don't know that I've seen a quarterback exerting that kind of pressure on the organization....Joe Burrow has been incredibly consistent and vocal about wanting to keep Tee Higgins around...

Burrow's contract has already forced Cincinnati to start doing some things that they don't normally do. He has already broken rules that the Bengals have typically had in terms of how they handle their contracts. Like his deal is the type of deal that they don't sign previously. So they've already made exceptions...started to modernize...started to act the way the rest of the NFL does, because Burrow is so special...so if he was able to make them do that for his own contract, is he able to make them do that to keep Tee Higgins in the building? To go in a different direction than they would normally do?

Oki hi I'm going to do my best to write down prices of gas per gallon I see from gas station signs when I drive past them in my specific area

Last time I filled up my vehicle was 1/13/25 (before the President change) an the price per gallon was 3.19

Today 1/25/25 (after the President change) gas price per gallon was 3.25

The price of gas so far has not decreased

I hope to update this every week to every other week for the course of the next for years

I encourage others to add there the prices in their area so hopefully we can get an accurate data of gas prices over the next four years

Update as of when I got gas on 2/4/25 the price per gallon was 3.39

Thinkin up a good base price for after-dark type comms (cropping is not affecting price for this type since it's entirely dependent on context). Recent pricing I have to go off of was experimental prices and therefore discounted, and I usually charged about $50-60 years ago in about '19, but the economy was a lot better and it was when Twitter was thriving, especially in that scene, and I was drawing rather niche things people were happy to pay more for.

And since the previous poll shows a notable interest in flat colors with lining, what's a good price you think for a flat color lined comm with two characters and waist/thigh up or full body cropping? Solo characters would be slightly less and shading would be a small add-on cost. What would you pay?

not me watching an arlo video im not sure of the topic of and its about nintendo games pricing and how totk cost 70 bucks and then looking briefly at the top comments and its largely people defending the pricing and also arguing that totk is jsut so beefy and offers more than even botw WITH expansion and i feel myself mentally exploding again

what is it with people defending anything nintendo ever does

(and also defending totk for that matter which is barely worth 30 bucks to me ... truthfully i wouldnt buy it for a single potatochip but as much as i hate that game i am aware thats a personal deep disdain certainly few share with me)
