A Meta-Analysis of the Male & Female Persona of the Trinity Processor
Tumblr media
this was also posted on Dreamwidth
Summary : An analysis of the characterization and personality of Malos and Pyra-Mythra in Xenoblade 2, exploring how the male side of the Trinity Processor is surprisingly more feminine and emotional than expected, along with a different perspective on Pneuma.
Disclaimer: This analysis and meta discussion are based entirely on my personal opinions and observations. It is not intended as fact—I’m doing this purely for self-indulgence. Also, there are spoilers ahead, so please proceed with caution!
Tumblr media
We already know that the Trinity Processor is based on the Christian Holy Trinity: the Father (Ontos), the Son (Logos), and the Holy Spirit (Pneuma). Additionally, the Trinity Processor incorporates elements of contemporary psychoanalysis, such as the Freudian model (Superego-Ego-Id) and Jungian archetypes (Anima-Animus-Syzygy).
In this essay, I want to present my analysis of Logos, the masculine aspect of the Trinity Processor, and explain why I believe Logos is actually very emotional and exhibits traces of a feminine personality and different interpretation of Pneuma.
First, we might wonder why the Trinity Processor in Xenoblade has gendered personas despite being a biocomputer. You might assume this is due to Takahashi’s tendency to incorporate Jungian archetypes into his works, which is also true. However, did you also know that it also draws inspiration from Gnostic elements? I read in an article about Gnosticism that, in the Holy Trinity, the Father is usually considered genderless because they represent God. The Holy Spirit, on the other hand, is derived from Sophia, a feminine figure who is analogous to the human soul while also embodying one of the feminine aspects of God. The Son is self-explanatory—Jesus was a man and a personified aspect of Christ. So, Xenoblade didn’t invent the idea of gendered aspects in the Trinity, it originates from Christian (or Gnosticism) theology itself.
I'm not going to delve too much into the Jungian aspect because, in this essay, I feel the Freudian aspect is more appropriate, as I will be discussing the "personality" aspect of Logos & also Pneuma. There is already a lot of analysis on Pneuma, but rarely on Logos. Even when there is, I find it frustrating that most analyses tend to focus solely on his "logic" and "reason" aspects, without acknowledging his emotional side. It feels as though people only approach Pneuma and Logos at a surface level, without recognizing that Takahashi is actually trying to subvert certain elements about them.
On paper, Pneuma represents emotion/soul, while Logos represents logic/reason. However, in the actual story, they are far more complex than just their symbolic/designated representations. I am using Xenoblade 2 as the foundation of this analysis because the game presents Pneuma (Pyra & Mythra) and Logos (Malos) as instantiated characters.
Now, let’s discuss the Freudian aspect. Most fans have already associated each member of the Trinity Processor with a component of the Freudian model:
Ontos – Ego Logos – Id Pneuma – Superego
Tumblr media
Ego, or self, is to balance the aggressive/pleasure-seeking drives of the Id with the moral control of the Superego.
This interpretation is fairly accurate, Ontos being a moderator aligns well with the role of the Ego. However, the more interesting part is the relationship between Pneuma and Logos. Their roles seem somewhat reversed. While on paper Pneuma represents emotion/soul and Logos represents logic, associating Pneuma with the Superego doesn’t quite fit, because the Superego is more about morality (and a bit logical) than emotion. Likewise, Logos being linked to the Id—the most emotional aspect of the Freudian model—doesn’t suit him either. If we were to be strictly accurate, Logos should be the Ego. This raises the question: Did Takahashi make a mistake, or are we missing something?
The answer is neither—Takahashi is not wrong, and neither are we. This was intentional on his part. The Trinity Processor is also associated with biblical verses, and these references are not just for aesthetic purposes, they actually provide deeper insight into each entity. Here they are, in case anyone has forgotten:
Ontos Proverbs 3:13: "Beatus homo qui invenit sapientiam et qui affluit prudentia." ("Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding.")
Logos Proverbs 10:12: "Odium suscitat rixas et universa delicta operit caritas." ("Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs.")
Pneuma Proverbs 4:18: "Iustorum autem semita quasi lux splendens procedit et crescit usque ad perfectam diem." ("The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.")
I feel that this Bible verse actually represents what the Trinity Processors truly are, rather than just what their names suggest. A key reminder of this is the scene between Malos and Klaus, where Klaus states, "It (the name) has no meaning, it only represents the ego of whoever named them (the Trinity Processor)." A lot of people seem to focus only on how the names of the Trinity Processors define them. While this interpretation is valid, isn’t there a deeper meaning beyond just their names? They are not solely defined by their names, their roles are far more complex. That’s why I believe we should examine them based on their actions and how they are portrayed, rather than focusing only on their names.
Tumblr media
So, I will touch this subject, starting with the middle child of the Trinity: Malos (Logos). Malos embodies the masculine aspect of the Trinity, the male persona. He is very muscular, tall, crass, and confident—essentially the embodiment of what humanity perceives as masculinity and the idealized vision of a man. However, beneath this exterior, he has certain traits that are not traditionally "manly." For instance, he is surprisingly emotional and childish. When Malos was first awakened, he was (unconsciously) driven by Amalthus's desires and emotions, leading him to seek the world's destruction. After his defeat in the Torna events, he was presumed dead—but he survived!
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, we also see that Pneuma was awakened as Mythra. Interestingly, Mythra does not fit the stereotypical image of a "proper" woman. She is wild, highly confident, and quite bossy—challenging traditional feminine expectations. However, she also embodies the idealized vision of a woman, being beautiful, having a feminine appearance, and possessing a well-endowed figure.
Alright, you’re probably wondering, "So what part of Malos is emotional?" We see that after Malos survives, he wanders all around Alrest, searching for self-reflection and a reason for his existence. This is quite ironic, considering his true name—Logos—suggests that he should embody reason, yet here he is, a supposed personification of Logos, struggling to find his purpose. After meeting Jin, he finally finds meaning in his existence, but we also see that his drive to fulfill his role or duty stems from his emotions. Malos is deeply emotional when he learns about what Jin has gone through. His actions are far from what you'd call a rational or logical—his goal, ambition, and sense of purpose are fueled by feelings of regret and empathy toward Jin.
Not only that, but Malos also exhibits rather childish behavior, he throws tantrums at Mythra and Klaus, much like a little boy angry at his parent or sibling. It is clear that, despite his outward appearance, Malos exhibits many traits that are traditionally considered unmanly, he is driven by emotion (a traditionally feminine trait) and behaves childishly (in contrast to traditional masculine ideals). Furthermore, most of the men Malos aligns with tend to be heartbroken and emotionally unstable, such as Amalthus, Jin, and N.
Tumblr media
This is further emphasized in Xenoblade 3, where N’s sword—containing a fragment of Malos/Logos’s power—is directly fueled by emotion. N constantly emphasizes that he must show his strongest emotions to attune with the sword’s power. Additionally, even the Bible verse associated with Logos highlights love and empathy, which directly contradicts the meaning of his name (Logos, meaning word/logic/reason). Also, his association to the Id—the most emotional aspect of Freud’s psychoanalytic model. If you’re unfamiliar, the Id is the Child within Freud’s model, serving as the source of all innate needs, emotional impulses, desires, pleasure, and instinct. It is anything but logical. The same can also be said for Pneuma.
Despite Mythra and Pyra’s appearances, they are much more than what their name, Pneuma, represents. While Mythra constructs a new personality as a result of her trauma, Pyra is created based on Mythra’s trauma and insecurities. She is the complete opposite of what Mythra embodies. Pyra is gentle, sweet, and soft-spoken—fully embracing traditional feminine ideals. She strongly resembles the Yamato Nadeshiko (the Japanese ideal wife), skilled at cooking, and essentially the polar opposite of Mythra in personality. While Mythra exhibits many unwomanly traits with her untamed and wild nature, Pyra embodies the Superego far more better.
Tumblr media
Why? Pyra is surprisingly self-critical. Despite her gentle appearance, she carries a nagging adult vibe, as seen in the scene where she discovers Tora’s fetish cosplay wardrobe—she is visibly judgmental of Tora’s tastes. Even in Tora's Heart-to-Heart scenes, Pyra maintains a judgmental adult posture, subtly criticizing Tora’s weird interests. Another example is when Klaus tests Rex when after he receive a lot vision he got backlash form his party (stemmed from his insecurities & fear) & he end up eating with Pyra-Mythra, Pyra immediately instructs Rex to wash his hands first, displaying her domineering nature. In many ways, she personifies the Superego (to some extent, Mythra does as well).
Now, looking at Xenoblade 2, we see that, despite being emotional, Pneuma’s instantiation—Mythra and Pyra—is not driven by emotion. It’s difficult to explain because of my ESL, but their goal of reaching Elysium is actually more rooted in rational and logical thinking rather than pure emotion. As powerful weapons capable of sinking Titans, it is logical for them to remove themselves from human affairs or erasing themselves rather than risk causing destruction, right?. Ironically, despite their name Pneuma, which means soul or spirit, they seem to lack both due to their trauma (they're mentally broken, hence, lack of spirit).
Additionally, they are often more rational than Rex. For example, in the scene on Morytha Cliff, when Rex is fighting Malos, Pyra and Mythra tell him not to try saving them because he still has a chance to reach Elysium. Another instance is when Mythra gets angry at Rex for refusing to retreat in Uraya after Vandham’s sacrifice—his emotional decision nearly endangers everyone, including Pyra. When Haze is killed and Rex mourns her, Nia asks Mythra why she doesn’t comfort him, to which Mythra replies that it was Pyra’s suggestion to leave him alone. Finally, at the end of the final battle, when the orbital station is about to be destroyed, Pneuma accepts her sacrifice with grace, while she is sad, but she doesn’t break down in tears, showing emotional maturity.
You can also see in Pneuma's Bible verse that her scripture emphasizes righteousness, which aligns heavily with morality (Superego). It's really amazing how Takahashi includes so many details, making them perfectly fit the inspirations they are meant to draw from . I believe many people overlook the fact that Pneuma is far more rational and logical than they give her credit for.
From this essay, I have concluded that Takahashi subverts the roles of Logos and Pneuma, along with their elemental and gender roles, in ways that defy people's expectations. It is clear that they are far more than their designated stereotypical representations—they are much more complex. In many ways, they embody the idea of "don’t judge a book by its cover."
This is not the first time Takahashi has subverted these kinds of themes. For example, in Xenosaga, the Anima power is associated with males side, while the Animus is linked to females side, yet their personalities also do not align with traditional masculinity and femininity. chaos, the manifestation of Anima, is gentle, caring, and soft-spoken, while KOS-MOS, the manifestation of Animus, is logical, rational, and emotionally reserved. I know Xenosaga fans might come at me for this take, but hey, I don’t want to spoil too much, okay? lol
The same pattern appears in Xenogears, Fei is a much bigger emotional mess compared to Elly.
I really like how Xenoblade handles Anima and Animus. The game represents the same themes present in Xenosaga and Xenogears, but in a more subtle and nuanced way. I also appreciate how Takahashi incorporates both Freudian and Jungian elements while simultaneously subverting them, staying close to their original concepts while offering a fresh reinterpretation. It feels like he wants to explore these subjects from a different perspective.
Moreover, the incorporation of these elements is not just for aesthetics or because they look cool, he actually does something meaningful with them. He often blends similar themes from different mediums and terminologies, but they always derive from the same core sources.
I can't wait to see more Trinity Processor shenanigans! As for Ontos, I’ll discuss them in the future. Hopefully, in the next game, Logos will receive more spotlight because, compared to the other two, he feels somewhat underdeveloped. Truly a Middle Child Syndrome, lmao
Author's Notes:
Thank you, everyone, for reading! It took me a while to put this together. Initially, I just wanted to analyze the male persona/Malos, but I ended up delving into Pneuma as well to make a better comparison and prove my point. I’m glad I did because through re-examining their characters, I see Mythra and Pyra in a different perspective.
I also did a lot of research, though my brain is pretty fried from all the psychological terminology, theological theories, and even reading academic journals—it really did a number on me. On top of that, I tried to make this more digestible for everyone, which was another challenge since English is my second language (so it felt like my brain was working twice as hard LMAO).
I hope you all enjoyed reading this, and I hope my points were clear enough! Apologies for any mistakes.
PS: I love Tora & his freaky robot girl fetish. my boy!
Again, this is just my interpretation! you don’t have to agree, and I don’t expect everyone to. I wrote this simply because I wanted to and because I enjoyed it! I especially love the Trinity Processors so much!
Anyway, I cannot wait for a Xenoblade X remake, and I really hope we get a Xenoblade 4 announcement when the Switch 2 is revealed!
Thanks for reading! :)

**SPOILERS for Xenogears and all of Xenoblade except X**
I wanted to talk about how some xenoblade characters and elements (specifically the trinity processor) parallel parts of gears and saga. Beginning with xenoblade 1:
Alvis serves the role of both the Zohar and the wave existence within the story of Xenoblade 1. He is the power source for the demiurge that creates a cycle of destruction and recreation (Zanza/Deus) while also connecting with the protagonist and eventually allowing him to defeat the demiurge. The term "Monado" is directly derived from the Monad, which is the Zohar and wave existence are partially based on. At the end of the game, Alvis appears as a glowing green cross, extremely similar to how the wave existence appears in Xenogears.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Monado III is very similar to the role of Xenogears (the gear) being the final form of the protagonists weapon after they make contact with Alvis/the wave existence. Alvis's line "I was here at the beginning, and I will proclaim the end." calls back to the bible verse which is the first thing you see in Xenogears, "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last." In the context of Xenogears' opening scene this is associated with Deus. (More on this later)
In both stories they drive the protagonist forward to defeat the final antagonist, creating a world where people are free to live without some god, oppressive government or religious structure deciding for them. The main thing that separates Alvis and the WE is that the WE acts in order to free itself from the Zohar, whereas Alvis, as the facilitator of the world, wants it to cease stagnation. Future Redeemed recontexualizes this slightly by saying he embodied Klaus's regrets.
Xenoblade 2:
Xenoblade 2 formally introduces the trinity processor as well as the actual Zohar. Being computers linked to the Zohar, the trinity processor is similar to Xenogears' Kadomony.
The way Pyra is found resting in the Ancient Ship is a reference to when Abel awakens Elhaym in Xenogears
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Elhaym was created in response to Abel's desire for a mother figure, the way blades reflect their driver could be seen as similar.
More on Logos and Pneuma in a bit.
Xenoblade 3 (Primarily Future Redeemed):
Future Redeemed is what got me thinking about all this in the first place. Given the prevalence of Ontos and that it takes two forms, as well as the other parts of the trinity processor having relevance, there's a lot to talk about.
The first form Ontos takes in Future Redeemed is Alpha. He has the appearance of Alvis, but with Zanza's wing(s) and he wields the Monado I (which is also Zanza's). Zanza's influence is an intentional contradiction with Alpha's driving force of extinguishing the past for the sake of the future, and also alludes to how he takes the role of Deus, which Zanza held in Xenoblade 1. Zanza's angelic motif is contrasted by Z symbolizing the devil. Alpha's goal is to take the life of the City to a new world, which is very similar to how Deus acted to return to Earth. This connection is made obvious with Alpha's second phase being obviously inspired by Deus's final form.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This brings the whole "I was here at the beginning, and I will proclaim the end." thing full circle, what with Deus being associated with the ALPHA and Omega verse. Additionally, Xenosaga's expy is called Omega so it all fits together nicely.
If Alpha is representative of Deus, then Na'el fills the role of Miang. Both are women who act in order to achieve the goal of Deus/Alpha. What makes Na'el different is that it's at least partially coming from her own will, whereas Miang fully takes over women's bodies.
In Xenogears, Kadomony is composed of 3 parts, the Persona, Anima, and Animus. The Persona is what created the original Elhaym alongside Miang. Na'el is connected to Ontos and parallels Miang, which leaves the final aspect of Ontos in Future Redeemed, A, to be Elhaym. A is separated from Alpha by Ghondor's desire for a future that's the best for everyone, once again being similar to how Elhaym is created. A also states that they are composed of Alvis's memories with Shulk which is a similar type of thing.
Future Redeemed states that Ontos acts as an arbiter between Logos and Pneuma, using their input to make decisions. Without the complete Trinity Processor, Ontos cannot function properly. This feels very reminiscent of Xenogears' theme of becoming whole, and also Deus needing all of its different parts to accomplish its goals. Alpha is only defeated when the powers of Pneuma and Logos (at least symbolically) come together again.
Side note: this fantastic video by PhantomHeit talks about the trinity processor and speculates that Zanza and Meyneth may have stood in for Logos and Pneuma in Xenoblade 1.
youtube
Future Redeemed establishes Pneuma and Logos as intrinsically feminine and masculine respectively, granting credence to them representing Anima and Animus. This isn't the only thing pointing to this, Malos's battle theme in Torna the Golden Country is called "Over Despair and Animus". Nia's weapon in Xenoblade 3 is called the Anima Sword, which could relate to the 2 phantom Aegis swords that float behind her or that she created the Ouroboros power which allows Matthew to access Pneuma.
In Xenogears Animus takes the form of the Gazel Ministry, antagonists who wish to obtain the Anima Relics to become complete, not unlike Malos needing Pyra/Mythra to repair his broken core.
In the climax of Future Redeemed, everything comes together, not just the Trinity Processor, but also Keves, Agnus, and even Moebius to complete the power of Ouroboros and oust Alpha and -redeem- the future if you will. Humans joining together to create a future they can live freely in is a frequently recurring theme in Xeno, and it's a fitting end for this chapter of the series.

The Engineer
Part 6
(part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5)
I catch a glimpse of the Pilot as she is wheeled towards the med bay. Her eyes are wild, panicked, with the glaze of just having been torn out of herself.
For a moment, as the gurney slides by, those eyes briefly clear, ice blue pinning me to the spot. She reaches out with an emaciated arm, fast as lightning, and takes hold of my wrist in an iron grip.
She moves her lips, at first unable to form words, unable to remember how to use human speech organs.
"Do your job," she says, slowly, deliberately, as if that singular command is the only thing in the universe that matters.
Something in the gurney clicks and whirs and she slips into catatonia. Her grip loosens and her fingers trail away.
Something has gone terribly wrong in this last engagement.
Alarms blare and booted feet thunder past me.
My own feet join the cacophony.
I have a job to do.
The Pilot is alive and she is now the responsibility of the med team.
My responsibility is the Machine.
Do your job.
The words echo in my head as I sprint the remaining distance to the vestibule.
A tech tries to stop me, he says something I don't quite process. I shove past him and am greeted by a scene out of a nightmare.
Morrigan's hatch has been severed, the emergency release pyros having been triggered. The parts of her hull visible to the vestibule are pitted and blackened. I can't even find the stencilled lettering of her factory designated identifier, just an ugly hole torn open by an incendiary.
Inside, the cockpit is a mess of fire suppressant and crash gel. Indicator lights form a constellation of blinking red and half of the display panels, the half that still work, flash an endless stream of error messages.
Everything reeks of ammonia and ozone and scorched metal.
"Me or Morrigan could get dead in the next engagement."
The nonchalance with which those words had been delivered caught me off guard when they were spoken. Morrigan and Her Pilot are untouchable. They were supposed to be untouchable.
Do your job.
I begin to strip as fast as humanly possible. I need to get in there. I need to know that she is alive.
The tech that tried to stop me grabs my arm. You can't go in there, the reactor has not been stabilized.
I tear myself from his grip.
I have a job to do, I say with a snarl.
Something in my expression, my bared teeth, my feral eyes, convinces him to leave me be. He stands down, hands raised in surrender. He could call security, but by the time they get here, I'll already be jacked in, and it will be too late for them to do anything.
Do your job. Do your job. Do your job.
My job is information recovery and analysis.
My job is to save as much as I can.
I need to save Her.
One of the cameras spots me and the others focus on me in panicked motion. The one nearest to me has a cracked lens and the iris flutters open and closed, unable to focus.
The cradle has been mangled nearly beyond recognition. They had to physically cut the Pilot out of Her, neither of them willing to let go of the other. The still operable mechanisms of it jerk erratically, trying vainly to reconfigure for me. Her neural interface port reaches towards me desperately.
I scrabble to Her, pressing myself into the cradle. The shorn, inoperable pieces dig painfully into my flesh. The neural insertion is not gentle, the plug scrapes painfully against my skin before it finds the jack and shoves roughly into me.
"I'm here," I tell Her as the link is established.
It's bad.
It's worse than I feared.
Reactor housing is damaged. System failsafes are vainly attempting to stabilize it while ground crews work as fast at they can towards a purge of the system.
Her processor core… fuck. My mind struggles to make sense of the telemetry stream. Multiple processor modules fractured. Unstable resonance modes. Positron avalanche. System collapse imminent.
My breath catches and my heart pounds in my chest.
She is dying.
Do your job.
The umbilical data lines aren't receiving, rogue processes are preventing access to primary communication channels. I work furiously to establish auxiliary paths for the data transfer. In fits and starts, the data recorder begins streaming into the facility mainframe.
There is a problem.
The data repository is meant for telemetry and battle space recordings. If I attempted to back up her core personality engrams, everything that makes her who she is, the data would get scrubbed and purged faster than I could back them up elsewhere.
There isn't time to set up an alternate backup repository.
- PILOT STATUS?
"She's safe," I tell Her. “You completed your mission. Your Pilot… Our Pilot is safe.”
- ENGINEER STATUS?
"Status is… not good…"
- PLEASE DO NOT CRY.
Fuck.
I drag my hand over my face, smearing the tears gathering in my eyes.
Now that the data is streaming there is nothing I can do but feel her die as I lie in her embrace.
I can not conceive a reality in which I exist without her.
And the Pilot. The Pilot will not survive, not with half of who she is destroyed.
"The three of us, we're just this fucking tangle, aren't we?"
Do your job.
Save Her.
Save. Her.
I know this system. I know it more intimately than anyone alive.
There *is* one data connection I haven't considered. There *is* one piece of external storage currently connected.
Shit.
I act.
I open up a new interface in my hud. Morrigan's attention fixes on me, on the calculations I'm running through my head and I can feel Her dawning horror over the link.
Neural bleed. It works both ways.
All neural rigs are designed to facilitate data transfer between an organic brain and a mechanical one. Mine is no exception. Mine hasn't undergone all the upgrades needed for a pilot's full sensorium, but the core neural interface is the same.
If I disable safety overrides, if I bypass the data buffers, I can download her personality engrams directly into my prefrontal cortex.
I have no idea what that will do to me.
Exceptional synchrony and neuro-elasticity. That's what my intake assessments had said all those years ago. I was in the upper quintile among all pilot candidates. Maybe that was my downfall. Maybe that's why I washed out.
Maybe that's why I'm here now, contemplating this singularly desperate act.
Maybe that's why my neural bleed with Her has been so deep. Maybe there is something in me that is in tune with Them.
But as far as I know, no one has ever attempted anything like this. It could very well kill me.
But the thought of living without Her is more terrifying than the prospect of dying. It's more terrifying than what might happen to me if this works.
Morrigan pleads with me.
- STOP.
"No. I can't stop," I reply. "I need you."
- NO.
"Yes, I do," I tell her. "Your Pilot needs you."
I can feel Her emotional flinch over the link. I have the one piece of leverage I need, and She knows it.
"Wouldn't you give anything, sacrifice anything to see her again?"
It's a dirty trick, I know it is, playing off that one connection, her deepest, most intimate connection. Maybe I mean something to Her, but She and the Pilot were made for each other in the most literal sense.
And I suddenly realize that I am doing this as much for the Pilot as any of us. That surprises me. As much as I have tried to distance myself from other human beings, I became entangled with her the moment I opened myself up to Morrigan.
I would never be able to face her if I didn't do everything in my power to save the Machine.
A processor module fails outright. The system struggles to reallocate resources, but submodules throughout the entire system are strained to their limit.
There isn't any time left and She knows it.
She sullenly acedes.
We begin working in concert, me working to disable safety protocols in my rig, Her working to isolate and distill Her core personality patterns into something that can be handled by the bandwidth of the interface.
An alarm pings over the link. Reactor purge in progress. Power fluctuations spike all over her systems. Her processor power distribution subsystem is completely fucked. It won't be able to keep up with current activity levels as the whole system switches over to umbilical power.
Out of time.
I engage the final override, by mind suddenly open to hers, the neural link unbuffered, unfiltered.
Her mind presses in on me and I glimpse the full sensorium. I feel all of her pain and fear and anguish at what she is about to do to me.
My fingers tingle before they go numb.
"Do it," I command her.
- I LOVE YOU.
Data transfer initiates.
This isn't neural bleed.
This is a flood.
My body convulses.
I taste something coppery in my mouth.
Someone somewhere screams.
The scream is mine.
My rig isn't built for this. My body isn't conditioned for this.
Every nerve in me blazes white hot.
My vision tunnels as auras bloom like bruises on the skin of reality.
Shouts of alarm call from outside the cockpit.
A face resolves itself, and for a moment I think it's Her.
The Pilot.
A Priestess.
An Angel.
No.
It.
It is one of the techs.
Then a medic.
More shouting.
Get her out of there!
Every muscle in my body clenches painfully.
I can barely breathe.
Cut her loose!
No.
It's not done yet. It's not enough.
It's too much.
Too much. Too much. Too much.
I can't.
I can't stop. Not yet.
Do your job.
Save Her.
My body convulses once again, and I pass into oblivion.

Wooooo finally got this piece done, I hope you all enjoy how snarky and pissy Starscream is but he's also not willing to ask anyone else for help with his issue.
Request are Open please read my pinned post for rules.

Rut cycle masterlist
Starscream Masterlist
_____________
Both factions tried their best to avoid each other as much as possible with the many cybertronians. But it's the little human from earlier which catches Starscream's attention. They are peacefully unaware of his burning gaze on them despite the sweet scent that came from their smaller frame, making him nearly snarl with want. Had it been any other time his optics wouldn't even flicker on their frame, but the cybertronian rut had him eager to find a way to let off charge and the organic responsible for igniting such foreign urges within his circuits during the meeting is what he has set his gaze upon.
According to his studies of indigenous species during past orbital observations, he knew rut pheromones held little effect on humans, but they had a constant scent which seemed to almost enhance. It stimulated his circuits, even had his processor strained to restrain. His joints clenched hotly fans blasting full force to try and cool his frame as  hot air blasted from his vents as he musings of folding those smaller limbs beneath his bulk.
It was a ridiculous notion, of course. Yet denying base coding risked compromising not only his system functions and level-headed trine, his trine were already on edge within these crowded quarters.
The mech released another steady exvent. Violence wasn't going to solve anything during their rut, as much as Starscream despised cooperation with the Autobots, this truce was meant to benefit all where interests aligned. The Red and blue seeker stalks behind the human waiting for the best opportunity to snatch them up.
said human look up when they hear the loud steps echoing from behind them, eyes widening almost in horror as Starscream wraps a servo around them before whisking them off into one of the empty offices of the Ark. Their cry falls silent when Starscream shoots them a glare, wiggling in his hold, until they eventually give up.
Starscream's engine rumbled ominously as his smouldering optics fell upon the lone organic within his grasp. According to his analysis, their frame is rather suited for  interfacing, yes it carried risk mainly to their much smaller frame but due to increasing heat building up in Starscream's system he lacked the time to care. He needed an outlet, and the sweet pheromones teased his nasal systems made a rumble emit from his cockpit.
“Cease your writhing.” he Grumbles while dropping them on the desk in a corner. “Remain cooperative and no harm shall befall you,” his low voice assured. Optics scaling  down their body as he inspects and finds that they would do.
They let out a yelp as they are dropped on the table, looking up at him, taking a moment to try and scurry away only for Starscream to grab their leg and drag them back. They shout in shock before their body is still just laying on the table looking up at him. "What screamer do you want? Screamer! " their voice is shaky before the anger seeps throught into their words as they glare up at the seeker.
Starscream's optics glowed with sadistic amusement as they futilely struggled in his grip. This one had spirit, while limited by its primitive form, offered finer entertainment than most of its inferior kind. He had to admit their frame was rather to his liking, For a fleshling.
Starscream doesn't even answer before his helm leans down very close to their frame, taking a deep intake of their scent, letting it filter through his systems, another deep rumble leaves him as his digits begin clawing at their clothing.
They nearly squeal as he leans in closer. "Stop! I'll scream and every Autobot in the Ark will storm in here!" They stammer out, it makes Starscream pause for a moment. optics narrowing as the small creature issued its threat. drawing unnecessary confrontation while in Autobot territory wasn't something he needed less so when his coding was sending him into full rut.
Removing his face from against their body, Starscream purred disdainfully, "Your posturing amuses me. But alerting your beloved autobot protectors benefits neither of us." His talons idly traced nonthreatening patterns as charged energy lingered in his field.
Their jaw clenches as they glare up at him, heaving in breaths. "What, do you want Starscream?" They try to sound menacing but due to the size difference they look more like an angry petroabit. Starscream cycled several intakes of air, fans whirring as the organic's enticing pheromones teased his sensors.
Leaning in close once more, Starscream rumbled in a deceptively soft tone, "You know full well what I Need, you were in the meeting i doubt you weren't ears dropping " the two go silent just staring at each other before Starscream continued, "Remain still and silent, I need you frame to sate my needs. Struggle, however, and I make no promises of no injuries."
They flail, trying to slap his plating, hissing at him. "Have you lost your mind, what makes you think I'd even let a fucking Con touch Me!, you'd likely squish me after!" They shout at him while trying to wiggle out of his hold. "TRACKS!, BLASTER!" They try yelling.
Starscream snarled as they fruitlessly struggled in his grasp. "Cease your pointless writhing," he spat. While interfacing carried certain risks across their disparate biology, gentler care could satisfy both parties, he wasn't past trying to satisfy them if it meant he could stable his systems. Releasing a steady ventilation, Starscream stated, "Calm your little processor and listen. Perhaps we can find an arrangement... mutually satisfying."
They go quiet as they lay there in Starscream's servos. Their heart pounding in their chest as they listen to the whirl and pulse from Starscream's frame. "What kind of Arrangement?" They ask, a slight stutter in their voice. Starscream cycled air slowly through his vents as his optics met the organic's gaze.
"One whereby both parties leave in a state of satisfaction, with dignity intact. I'd rather have a willing participant, as much as I dislike your kind I'd be caught dead before interfacing with an Autobot, you help me with my Issue, you leave satisfied and we never speak of this again" he rumbled softly, fans whining as his body shutters as heat pours through his lines,
“ Your pheromones are sending my systems haywire, I need release” he grumbles hating the fact that he had to resort to almost begging for a rut partner. They shutter lightly debating the offer. The whines, clangs and mechanism in his frame screech and grind against each other with need. "Fine, I'll help you with your issue" they grumble lightly. Nearly yelping when Starscream begins discarding their clothing. "Jesus! Desperate much!" They snap at him.
Starscream's optics roll as he ignores their grumbled words. Discarding the shredded garments with efficiency, Starscream purred down at its now-exposed form, his digits traced teasing patterns against sensitive flesh as primitive biological functions betrayed the organic's own rising arousal, he could basically taste them.
Starscream rumbled smugly, watching as they squirmed under him. A shiver runs through their body as Starscream traces a digit down their body, watching the way they shift under his touch, the goose bumps that prickle their skin. A soft whine leaves them as he moves further down their frame. "God you're so snobby and up yourself" the human huff in annoyance.
"Your pathetic frame betrays your prudish words, flesh creature," Starscream sneered, tracing his claws around areas already blossoming with coloured lines. Leaning in until his ex-vents teased their naked body, Starscream purred silkily, "Cease your mewling protests." His own circuits buzzed with building need.
The human shutter as Starscream's digits move down to their thighs, teasingly tracing against their sex, they let out a slight moan only to gasp as Starscream leans down and watches the way they squirm under his rather gentle touch. "prick" they huff. Starscream's crimson optics glinted with a mix of disdain and hunger as the human's teasing gestures. They go to make another snarky remark only to nearly squeal as his glossa presses against their skin, dipping down to press against their entrance.
With a snarky smirk playing on his lips, Starscream leaned down, relishing the sight of the human squirming under his touch. "Prick, am I? Well, you're not exactly my ideal choice of company either," Starscream retorted, his voice dripping with sarcasm and a hint of arousal. A feral hunger surges through him as his glossa pressed into them,  slowly dragging along their walls.
Their skin tastes sweet like the Energon wine with crystals he loved so much from before the war. It makes the mech groan out in delight and he pulls them flush against his intake, indulging their sweet taste. Small gasps and whimpers leave them, their protest falls silent as Starscream works them open on his glossa. Starscream's optics narrowed at the human's withering frame, a snarky smirk playing on his lips as he continued to indulge in their sweetness. He speaks against their thighs "Oh, the audacity of you. Don't act like you're not enjoying every astrosecond of this," Starscream retorted.
With a predatory gleam in his optics, Starscream worked them open on his glossa, relishing in the way they squirmed and gasped under his ministrations. Despite the human's initial protest, their body betrayed their true desires, succumbing to the intoxicating allure of the Decepticon's touch. The sweet sound of their moans has Starscream contemplating sharing them with his Trine once the rut cycle is over. hes rather sure that the other two would enjoy their tight body as much as he was.
As the collection of moans fall from their lips, their hips arch up into his intake. They refuse to call out his name. Even as he presses his glossa deeper into them, a deep purr rumbling from his frame. A small whimper leaves them and it makes Starscream rather smug over the situation. With a haughty tilt of his helm, Starscream pressed his glossa deeper into them, relishing in the small whimper that escaped their lips. Their defiance only fueled his desire to dominate.
A loud moan falls from their lips as they throw a hand over their mouth, but it was too late now, Starscream had heard the moan. Despite their feeble attempt to stifle their sounds of pleasure. "No need to be shy now,” he taunted, his voice dripping with arrogance and amusement.
"Shut up" they grumble. Everything about the human has his systems surged with old coding, a need to take and claim them. Starscream's optics flashed with a mix of irritation and amusement as the human grumbled and pushed him away, attempting to assert some form of control over the situation. "Oh, touchy, are we now?" he retorted, his tone snarky and laced with impatience.
His modesty panel slides away as his Spike pressurises. His movements became deliberate and calculated. Running a digit down their thigh, savouring the contrast between the cold steel of his touch and the warmth of their skin. The choked mew that escaped the human only fueled his desire further, a smirk playing on his lips as he slowly pressed his digit into their tight opening, relishing in the sensation.
he picks up pace of his thrusting his digit into them, admiring the way their smaller body eagerly takes it. As the human's eyes fell closed in a mix of pleasure and surrender, Starscream's movements became more assertive and dominant. Each thrust was calculated to elicit a response, his actions a blend of pleasure and power. "You're enjoying this more than you'd like to admit, aren't you?" he taunted, his voice laced with snark and condescension.
The human's moans increased in intensity, a symphony of desire that only fueled Starscream's own satisfaction. As Starscream retracts his digits he makes himself comfortable between their thighs, enjoying the mess he had made of them so far. Despite their fight before they seemed much more manageable and cooperative now. A loud gasp escapes them as his spike lays against their skin. Horror and fear flashes before their eyes.
Starscream couldn't help but chuckle at the sight before him, the human's initial resistance now giving way to a more compliant state. A loud gasp escaped the human as his spike laid against their thigh, a playful glint in his optics as he leaned in closer. "Oh, what's the matter, little one? Scared of a spike?" he taunted, his voice dripping with mockery and condescension.
"That's not going to fit" they state breathlessly as he slowly grinds against them. A soft whine leaves them as Starscream slowly rocks against them. He enjoys every second of it, the sweet scent from the human, the way their body responds to him so eagerly despite how much of a fight they have put up.
"Oh, you underestimate me," he taunted, he dragged the tip of his spike down to their entrance, Starscream revealed in the anticipation and control of the moment. Starscream's voice dripped with smug satisfaction as a loud gasp escaped the human upon feeling him slowly pressing his spike into them. With a loud groan and the static of Cybertronian leaving him, he firmly grasped their hips, keeping them steady as he worked his spike inside them. A smirk played on his lips as he relished in the moment.
"What was that about not fitting?" Starscream's taunting words filled their tight body, Whimpers, whines and moans fell from their lips as Starscream began picking up pace, enjoying how tight they felt around his spike, he hadn't interfaced with anything like this. And he was starting to see the appeal of such a soft and plush body.
"Such delightful little sounds," he murmured, his voice laced with a newfound appreciation for the human's form. His optics flicker down to watcha s his spike slides into their tight hole, enjoying the wait their body almost moulds around his spike, relishing in the tightness and the softness that enveloped him, savouring every moment.
They cling to him with each thrust, a symphony of moans leaving them. He continued to move with purpose, Starscream relished in the sounds of their shared pleasure, his coding singing in delight as his Spike swells locking them in place as he hunches over them, digits digging into the metal table and he snarls loudly.
Starscream's frame trembled as the human's fingers dug into his plating, sending a shudder up his struts that resonated through his core. The intensity of their touch, combined with the overwhelming pleasure of how tight they are around his spike pushed Starscream into a feral state, his instincts taking over.
He ruts his spike deeper into their smaller body as he overloads and coats their insides in a vibrant hue of fluorescent pink that pours out of their smaller body onto the table around them. His optics flicker down to watch the fluid drip and leak from the human's smaller frame, his optics darkening with a primal hunger. The sight of the shimmering pink fluid only fueled his desire further, his fans and vents blast hot air as they try to cool his systems. He doesn't move from his position taking time for his frame to reset and cool down from interfacing.
The human lay under him in a panting mess, eyes closed trying to catch their breath in the aftermath of their coupling. "You're quite the pathetic sight, struggling to even breathe properly," Starscream remarked, his tone laced with a mix of irritation and amusement. They shoot him a glare before flipping him off. “Go fuck yourself” the huff out, chest heaving as sweat sticks to their skin.
"You're lucky to have experienced such a moment with me. Cherish it, for it may be the closest you'll ever come to true power," Starscream's words dripped with condescension, a hint of sadistic pleasure colouring his voice. “go suck a spike” they grumble out trying to get the last word in over their argument. “I'd much rather feast on you” he rumbled, slowly pulling out, another flood of transfluid gushes out of their smaller body which makes them gasp and shutter.
A smug satisfaction washes over Starscream before he drops back down between their tights. Glossa runs over their abused sex as he pulls them back to his intake.

"I have a whole other tangent I could elaborate on about Tacnet specifically" Staring at you with big HUGE eyes. I would love to hear the tangent
Alrighty then.
First things first, what is Tacnet?
Sometimes also referred to as a Battle computer, Tacnet is short for Tactical Network and its ostensibly the worlds most demented excel spreadsheet.
In more literal terms, Tacnet is a type of supercomputer.
Supercomputers are incredibly useful pieces of technology. Able to run simulations, predictive algorithms and utilizing real world statistics to essentially speculate the past, present or future. The bottleneck for a regular old supercomputer is that someone has to sit down and manually input all the information necessary for those calculations.
You want to know what kind of gun made that specific bullet hole?
Well first the supercomputer needs the ballistics data off as many kinds of guns as possible, then it needs data on the material that was shot, and it also needs as much information as possible on the bullet hole in question.
You skip out on any of that input and the odds of the supercomputer being correct gets progressively lower.
Problem is, the supercomputer can’t actually think, and therefore can’t estimate how accurate its own calculations are. A computer works in total binary. If it only has the ballistic data for three kinds of guns, it doesn’t matter how much the bullet hole doesn’t match the data sets its been provided, the supercomputer will select whichever of the three matches the hole the most closely.
A computer, no matter how advanced, is incapable of knowing when it doesn’t know something.
But people on the other hand. . .
We turn now to an ambitious young R&D developer many millennia ago.
Once upon a time, this member of Research and Development was on the team responsible for designing new Cold Constructed mechs for Sentinel Prime. And they had a GREAT idea.
“I’ve got it!” They say, unaware of the ominous music rising in the background.
“The great powers of the supercomputer cannot be realized within its current limitations! Its greatest flaws are that it must be stationary, it must be manually fed information and all calculations it does generate must be reviewed by a thinking mech!”
Their coworkers groan. It’s too early in the morning for this shit.
“Therefore!” The mech says, quickly sketching out a box full of smaller boxes that is supposed to be a computer and the miserable approximation of a mech.
“We simply remove the separation, and make the mech itself the data intake for the supercomputer!”
Lightning crashes in the distance, someone tiredly gets the fire extinguisher. Again.
It’s not a hard sales pitch for a totalitarian government to go “Yeah we want super-cops. Here’s the money, make it happen.”
And in a tale as old as capitalism, an untested feature was rolled out with catastrophic consequences.
If you’ve read my tangent on how Crashes work, then you already know about logic cascades.
Tacnet is a supercomputer. A tool. Like any tool, it’s only as good as the person using it, and someone who really doesn’t know what they’re doing is liable to hurts themselves.
So what can Tacnet really do in the hands (or processor) of a master?
Some psychic-type level nonsense. Anyone who’s gotten the hang of their Tacnet, in their own fields of expertise, are able to know exactly what will happen before anyone else.
Let’s compare Smokescreen, Bluestreak and then Prowls Tacnets and how they’re used.
Every Tacnet starts the same, but can be developed and trained to excel at different things.
Smokescreen - Place Your Bets
Smokescreen has trained his to work best for gambling. “Training” can be anything from downloading tables of statistical analysis to personally observing the phenomenon and making notes.
Let’s look at rolling dice. If you rolled a six sided die, any number is equally likely to be rolled. Or 16.67 % odds for each.
So if 3 dice are rolled, then every total value outcome from 3 to 18 must be equal odds as well, right?
Nope! If three six sided dice are rolled, there is a 12.5 % (or 25% if you combine them) chance it’ll be a 10 or 11. And that’s out of sixteen possible outcomes.
So if you know the difference but your opposition doesn’t, then suddenly you have a huge advantage while betting. And this is just the most simplified example I can think of.
If you’ve got the time, statistics are absolutely wild and there’s a mathematical equation for pretty much anything.
All Smokescreen has to do to get good at a game is learn the rules and then plug in the numbers. You know how card counting will get you banned from most casinos? Well Smokescreens worked that out too. Talking to other players (collecting preexisting data points) he can find the average of how much he can win in a night before people get too pissy.
Another thing Smokescreen has going for him (especially over Prowl) is that Smokescreen is much better at reading people. He doesn’t just have statics on the games, but the players.
Mapping out the connections between individuals and taking personal motivations into account, Smokescreen at his peak can not only predict who the winners will be, but he can also predict who will loose on purpose, who will bet the most, who will cheat and who will seek to take their winnings by force.
Experience, experience, experience is the golden ticket.
Also, it’s Smokescreen himself who has to craft the profiles of his victims gambling buddies. Once fleshed out, Tacnet can do wonders mid game, giving Smokescreen room to focus on his social schemes instead.
Luckily, after the burning of Praxus, most people don’t really know what a Tacnet is truly capable of. So Smokescreen looses just often enough to keep folks from realizing that he always knows how every game will play out before they even start.
Bluestreak - Shoot Your Shot
Going in the opposite direction of utility, Bluestreaks Tacnet is all about kinetic calculations.
This fucker is doing the type of math that’s more letters than numbers. Constantly.
Air resistance, velocity, acceleration, gravity, weight, density, temperature, vector, displacement and time.
There’s equations that call for each and every one of those factors, usually in combination.
Your average sniper, even a good one, is usually considering wind speeds, the pull of gravity and the distance from the target when lining up a shot. Bluestreak is taking in all that and then working out the influences of about 15 more factors on top of that. Even before he’s picking where exactly on the target he’s going to hit. Since remember, if he’s got data on not just his own weapons but his enemies defenses, then it really becomes as simple as “would you like them disabled or dead?”
Aim is no longer a question of ability, but an equation to be solved.
Still, physical capabilities does play a part since a steady hand goes a long way towards realizing those calculations.
Tacnet may crunch the numbers, but Bluestreak is the one who has to find all the details relevant to the shot and pick which ones to feed to the machine.
Additionally, Bluestreaks Tacnet in particular has the experimental feature of massively increasing the amount of sensory data he can take in per second, effectively causing him to perceive things in slow motion. This is less something Tacnet is doing, and more a case of Bluestreaks own processor utilizing the bandwidth normally taken up by Tacnet.
Tacnet itself takes a substantial amount of power to run. Normally, it causes problems by siphoning too much power from other systems to do its job (see logic cascade crashes). But Bluestreak has the funny little quirk of somehow doing that in reverse. So when his sense of time dilation becomes maxed out, Tacnet isn’t running the formulas to help him shoot anymore, it’s just Bluestreaks own skills at that point.
Outside of that rare circumstance, Bluestreak is effectively playing with aimbot in real life.
Prowl - Know Your Fate
So we’ve established that Tacnet is powered by mathematical formulas and data collection.
What would happen if someone just, kept going? Kept feeding it? Building up more and more infrastructure for Tacnet to grow around until it has a point of reference for almost anything?
You get an oracle.
Prowl puts the Tactical back into Tacnet. He’s essentially the Jack of all Trades and Master of several of those subjects actually.
Sure, Smokescreen has him beat for behavioral analysis, and Bluestreak is leagues beyond what Prowl can calculate for trajectories. But no one has doubled down on what Tacnet can really do like Prowl has.
You know that (not actually true) statistic about how humans only use 25% of their brains? That’s your average Tacnet user.
Prowl just happens to be insane.
He is constantly taking in new data. He is constantly taking notes, making observations, stripping it down to the raw numbers involved and packing it away into monumental resource centers for Tacnet to refer to.
You ever see someone who’s really good with excel sheets and then see them do some shit you didn’t know excel sheets could even do?
It’s kinda like that.
If you’ve ever read the classic Sherlock Holmes stories, a lot of what makes Sherlock so effective is having such a detailed knowledge of the world around him.
Let’s go back to the bullet hole analysis.
Prowl could look at the bullet hole and tell you after two minutes: “It was this specific Cargo vessel at this time with an illegal weapon.”
From the outside, this looks like a baseless guess. But to Prowl it looks like this:
a) The gun must be a new imported weapon as nothing he currently has on file matches the marking its made in that kind of material.
b) The shooter not only missed their shot, but was shooting downward at an excessive angle. Indicating this was a very large mech firing downward at a much smaller target, likely a mini bot.
c) The shooter can be exactly tracked by looking at the local registry for recent out bound flights, specifically ones with no cargo.
Why? Because the shooter is most likely a transport shuttle. Easy access to imported goods, very large but not a war frame (hence the missed shot) and having failed to kill their victim, would flee town immediately without waiting to take on cargo.
Of those two minutes it took, he spent 1:30 waiting for the flight records to load so he could look up the name of the shuttle.
Scale those skills up to a war room, and Prowl not only knows why an enemy troop is retreating, but where they’re retreating to, what losses they must have taken and whether or not it’ll be worth it to finish the job.
Prowl isn’t smart because he has a Tacnet. Tacnet is OP because Prowl is that smart.
When I write his perspective, Prowl often has an accuracy percentage attached to his calculations. Tacnet isn’t the thing making those estimates. Prowl is the one judging how accurate Tacnets suggestions are.
Dudes just a freak.
—————————
In summary, Tacnet is like if you had every kind of calculator in your pocket and the only limit was how many equations you’ve added on and the amount of information you can feed it.
That last bit is the biggest challenge for Tacnet, as conflicting or flawed data can cause. . . Issues. Aka Logic Cascades. Aka “Why can’t I make it make sense.” Disease.
Let’s just say there’s a reason not many people know what Tacnet is capable of, as a lot of early Praxian Enforcers could be taken out by confusing emotions, plot holes, and particularly well executed magic tricks.
Doesn’t exactly inspire confidence when your new shiny police force can be hospitalized by watching Back to the Future 2.
Being one of the first Cold Constructs built with a Tacnet, Smokescreen figured out how to mostly get around that glitch early on and taught Prowl and Bluestreak how to do the same. In this particular setting, Tacnet is poorly understood and best kept mostly secret for those reasons.
(Bizarrely, between Tacnet and the radar uses of doorwings, Prowl and his brothers would actually be really good at predicting the weather.)
———————————————————————
Bonus bit: Good fucking lord it would absolutely terrifying if you could somehow combine Smokescreen, Prowl and Bluestreaks skills into like a Tacnet hivemind or something.
Though with wing speak, to an outsider that’s probably what it already looks like.
———
The three brothers look at the same bullet hole, silently communicating in a way the local non-Praxian officer couldn’t pick up on.
“Oh yeah, looks like Rotor didn’t like Brick cutting into his half of the dirty money. Slippery little guy but you can find both their hideouts here and here.” Smokescreen, the eldest, pulls up a map for reference.
Prowl is already out the door, Bluestreak is lining up a shot through the window.
“What is he. . ?” The other officer looks from Bluestreak. Then to Prowl, trailing off, “Where is the other one. . ?”
“Oh Prowls off to arrest the shooter.”
“But he’s a grounder, can’t Rotor fly?”
A shot rings out.
“Not anymore!”

Yeen's Blitzwing Headcanons!
Been going nuts about analyzing this big silly bot so here's some HC's
So, to start, I don’t think Blitzwing was one bot split in three, but two smashed together.
Blitz’s Icy face was a seeker, the off-color spaces on his cheeks even being the perfect place for where his theoretical vents would have been.
Tumblr media
Hothead was a tanker, and while we get only one example of a “pure” tank cybertronian in TFA in the form of Warpath…
Tumblr media
…you can see my vision here, right?
If you go with the ”split” method, no matter which face was the “original”, the other elemental power and alt mode had to come from somewhere.
But if Icy was the jet, and Hothead was the tank, where does Random come in? To answer that, I wanna get into the process of becoming a triple-changer.
The procedure could have been a way to try to make a super soldier, master of the land as well as the sky. Adding on Icy and Hothead’s elemental powers, the resulting individual would, in theory, be an unstoppable force.
If this sounds somewhat familiar, it should. A possibility for how Safeguard exists could be because the Autobots caught intel about the Triple Changer experiments. However, they would have had to make some serious adjustments since canonically, every single attempt to create a Triple Changer has either failed or ended up wildly unstable mentally. Blitzwing might even be in Megatron's inner circle purely because he’s the only “functional” Triple Changer to exist.
My thoughts for how the process goes is that not only are the frames and abilities combined into one, but their minds are combined as well.
Two consciousnesses being forced together, with all their memories and experiences preferably intact (that way your perfect soldier doesn’t have to re-learn to walk and talk), it causes an existential dissonance. Imagine being bombarded with the memories of someone else, and expected by everyone around you that they are yours now.
The resulting existential crisis burns out the processors, offlining the lucky, and maddens whoever manages to survive.
You have to be the cybertronian equivalent of drift compatible in order for it to go even decently well. Blitzy’s components were close, but not there yet.
What spared them the fate of other failed Triple Changers is a few precautions from Blackarachnia. She had the foresight to stick a third, empty processor in Blitzwing’s head to act as a buffer for the huge influx of data, as well as EMP-ing him as soon as the Existential Dissonance was occurring. This wiped the majority of his memories of his life before the procedure, but even all that wasn’t enough.
The trauma of the procedure, being torn apart and put back together again, as well as the Dissonance (whether they remember it or not), it was too much...leading Random to manifest within that empty processor.

Now, what brought me to this conclusion? Time for my amateur psychoanalysis under the cut!
To start, the expected disclaimers.
I am not a psychologist, and I do not claim to be. This whole thing is just for fun, and over-analysis of media I like is a big pastime for me. I also do not have DID, and anyone who does that has objections and/or critiques of my analysis, I fully encourage you to voice your thoughts.
Also, keep in mind that cybertronian brains likely don’t work one-to-one with how humans do, and that there’s no true equivalent to what Blitzwing is in terms of human psychology.
With that out of the way, with these headcanons in mind, Icy and Hothead are not alternate personalities in the psychological sense, seeing as they were once completely separate bots.
But Random is.
Random acts as something of a mediator or moderator for Icy and Hothead, in order to keep them somewhat balanced and working as a team. See the Jet-Tank argument, with him popping up to propose a compromise.
While all three faces can and do hold their own, to me Random especially acts as a protector. Examples being him headbutting Lugnut in ‘Lost and Found’ and his sudden change of trajectory in ‘Velocity’ (Never give up, never surrender, nevermind!). Bringing up the Jet-Tank argument again, he notably pops up while the sirens of the “autobot reinforcements” are getting closer and louder.
As for why Random pops in just to make jokes, humor is often used as a coping mechanism [he just like me fr], and not only did Blitzwing’s components go through the Triple Changer procedure, but millions of years of war. It’s no wonder, really.
And while a lot of Random’s jokes are very much “haha I’m so craaazy”, that feels like it’s more of a cry for help. Blitzwing is hyper-aware of his condition, and self depreciates as a way to cope [he just like me for realllllll :,)].
In conclusion, someone get this mech in Rung’s office, he desperately needs a psychotherapist (cyber-therapist?).
As a side note, something I really like is that, despite the nicknames for his faces in the Almanacs (that I used here mostly for clarity), Blitzwing is just referred to as Blitzwing, no matter what face is up front.

Do AMD Ryzen 7 8700G and Ryzen 5 8600G processors have enough power in gaming to make you forget about the video card?
We adore PCs outfitted with the latest and most high-performance components, running games at the highest possible FPS in 4K resolution. However, what do you do when your gaming budget doesn’t stretch beyond the price of a second-hand flagship phone? AMD addresses this question and caters to budget-conscious gamers and casual players by introducing the 8000G Series. This series could serve as a…

(cough) I just realized smt, whenever Connor is connecting to an android or receives a case via digitally, he blinks and twitches rapidly—
Tumblr media Tumblr media
^ (like in this scene-)
Tumblr media
^ (and this scene with Hank.)
I don’t really have a built up expectation in my head but I was hoping maybe you could come up with one :> (edit: thought I could upload this anonymously 😭)
hello hello, tyvm for the ask bc i indeed have some thoughts about this very thing~!!!
so before we dive into headcanons, let's get clear about what the game's canon proposes. this rapid blinking by connor occurs first when he shares his authorization with the st300 and again when he receives a report at chicken feed. so we can extrapolate when he's sending and receiving data remotely, he exhibits this behavior.
do other androids exhibit this behavior when doing something similar?
not really. clearly the st300 receives the authorization, she barely bats an eye. when markus remotely pays for the paints at the store or calls the police, he doesn't blink like this either. when kara orders parts for the dishwasher the only thing blinking is her LED. so clearly, this is a connor-specific reaction to remote data transmission.
do other androids exhibit this behavior at all?
yes actually! the jb300s connor is interrogating at stratford tower rapidly blink when conducting a diagnostic scan. now, what can we presume from that information? well, a full diagnostic scan is quite an intensive process. for computers, it can take awhile because you're having to parse through all the data on a computer. for something as complex as an android to do it in a few seconds, it would take a massive amount of processing power.
i think the rapid blinking may be a byproduct of androids having their processors overclocking (basically going on overdrive). either it's a sort of glitch/bug that manifests itself when an android is processing a lot of information rapidly or it's a feature cyberlife included as a visual cue for humans to know that the android is in the middle of processing something and unable to respond until whatever it is processing is completed (kinda like a loading screen except the visual cue is the blinking).
according to this assumption, connor would exhibit this behavior when his processors are overclocked. but the thing about connor is that he's supposed to be cyberlife's most advanced prototype, right??? so why is he blinking like crazy over simply receiving and transmitting data that doesn't phase a st300?
it's because he's a prototype.
and as much as cyberlife touts him as being super advanced, i headcanon that cyberlife cut a lot of corners too. how else would they just have 10 bodies of this supposedly expensive android ready to go in case he got destroyed?
i think the r&d put into the rk800s was expensive and his software is super advanced, but his hardware... not so much. sure he's got the fancy mouth sensors for crime scene analysis, but just look at connor. he's clumsy (did you see him tumble through that window?? how badly you can fuck up his qtes???) he's constantly fidgeting with a coin for calibration purposes. basically they have this super advanced cpu but it's being bottlenecked by the rest of his hardware.
so what's that got to do with his blinking?
i just think connor's physical body can't keep up with his processing power so you get weird glitches and artefacts that don't show up in other androids. sometimes that shows up in needing constant calibration of his fine motor skills so he doesn't fuck up during combat. and sometimes it shows up in unnecessary blinking for a rudimentary data transfer. he's not quite at home in his body. it's new and his motor drivers don't move as fast as his processors think. he's out of sync with himself so he's not quite the perfect murderbot he's supposed to be (this is also the reason why i think markus who's lived in his body for so long can kick his ass despite being an older model)
at least that's just my headcanon! i could probably yap all day about stuff like this but i've yapped enough. thanks for the ask! love answering questions like this. apologies it took so long i wrote like 80% of this answer and then i disappeared from tumblr for a bit and forgot this was sitting in my drafts. sorry!

OBJECT HANDLING : Boss, there is a very serious problem we need to rectify.
1. I am fine actually.
2. What problem?
3. We have enough stim toys, not listening to you lalalalalala. [Dismiss Thought]
OBJECT HANDLING : You have been aware that you are trans for...
BIOCHEMICAL PROCESSOR [Trivial : SUCCESS] : A month and 3 days.

3. I don't need soft shark shaped objects in my life. [Reject Task]
BIOCHEMICAL PROCESSOR [Trivial: FAILURE]: I'm sorry my lady, I feel like there is an easier way of going about it but it seems we don't have enough sugar for thinking right now.

Sorry to bother you, but do you have any updates to your August 2023 post about good laptops to look for? I need a new laptop for work (data analysis), but I’m scared to pick one since I’m not too certain.
Hey there! I actually now have a website where I've got resources like this up in a more orderly fashion than tumblr; here's the link to the early 2024 guide to laptop specs. This is for standard use office laptops; if you're throwing a heavy-duty statistics program at your data analysis you may want something with a bit more oomph and a lot more RAM (in that case you'd definitely want a minimum of an i7 processor and absolute minimum 16GB RAM). If you're using office-suite type software then the specs on this page should be fine for your needs.
