FMP Project Proposal Tutorial
Speaking to Rich and Emily about my project plan and what I wanted to do. Have expressed that I want to undertake the JDR Raw competition brief and do it as my FMP. This is what rich has advised me to do if that is the case:
Look at the learning outcomes
Rewrite your proposal to match the learning outcomes.
Don;t forget to write a weekly time line of your project.
Here is the Project Proposal I wrote up until then.
I haven't completed the action plan yet since I haven't had the time but I am gonna create it before the project proposal submission on Friday.

FOOD TRUCK PROJECT PROPOSAL
The concept for my photography project will revolve around the diversity and labor of food truck vendors. Every weekend, about a dozen or so unique food trucks set up shop at the abandoned mall parking lot at Sierra Vista Mall in Clovis. It's a weekly event planned by Fresno Street Eats, an organization consisting of several dozen different food trucks and vendors, from independently owned small businesses to franchise vendors. They organize annual, monthly, and weekly food and catering events and work as a network for vendors to find customers. One of these events is the weekend Sierra Vista Mall food pop up, one I have personal attachment to because it takes place less than two minutes away from my home!
For this project, I want to photograph the labor and social aspects of the standard food vendor work day. As a weekly haunt, I have become affiliated with and befriended the regular vendors that come by (and ate their cooking too. tasty!). The social aspect of these food truck events are what intrigue and charm me. Being quite shy and anxious, these weekly food events are often the only way I can comfortably experience social activity, and the friendly and hardworking vendors are people I have become fond of. Supporting their endeavors and their love of cooking, learning about their business and what their goals are for the future give me further appreciation for them, and I want to share that understanding with others.
For the more technical aspects of this project, being a regular and befriending a good amount of the vendors, I will communicate with each of them my proposal for this project. I wish to capture an authentic approach of their work day, and will ask permission for how close I am allowed to photograph them and their boundaries, and other permissions needed. Friday and Saturdays are the days these even take place, on Saturdays being from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., which is plenty of time to photograph. When it comes to shots I want to take with customers, I will be sure to ask permission before shooting. This being a social event, There is no specific equipment necessary, but I need to be aware of the sun and lighting while shooting to make sure my shots are not over exposed and my subjects have good lighting.
My objective for this project is to capture the intimate social atmosphere of these food pop up events, that differentiate from standard restaurant atmospheres. People are encouraged to walk around, talk with each other and the vendors, children play and families have fun eating. This being my link to social activity bring these scenes close to my heart, and I want to see the joy these simple events bring. But most of all, I want to focus on the vendors itself. Each one I've had the pleasure of meeting and connecting with are hardworking and kind individuals that deserve support, and do their part in giving me and others joy. Documenting the hard work and joy they give into the community is my utmost importance for this project, and I hope to share my respect for them to the viewers.

During this first week of this semester, I have started on creating my Miro board to plan out my projects and to get an idea what task I will be doing each week.
From the announcement made by Ayla about planning week 1 and 2, I have started in completing this list.

I have also started on the A2: proposal refinement and planning + ethics modules - 6 key "ingredients slide"
I have used the scope/limits I have made in Des300 project proposal for this project. I will be refining this next week and onto the coming weeks when the project has roughly finished its planing stage. I will be using the human centred design (HCD) methodology and the process that I will be using in this research is both qualitative research and quantitative and I will be using the design thinking method to map the stages to a timeline.

no see it’s actually a stroke of genius for me to have committed to finishing and posting a comic on the same day(tomorrow) that my advisor wants a final draft of my research proposal(tomorrow). because now when i’m pulling an all nighter(tonight) to write my research proposal and i reach a point of Doom and Despair i can pivot to drawing lovesquare for half an hour. and im still being productive. and then once ive been having a nice time coloring i can go back to my research, no longer feeling like im going to Die Actually. rinse and repeat. i’m a genius
