I don't know who needs to hear this but if you share Instagram links it will tell people your name in a huge pop message in the middle of their screen. (You can test it out by pasting your own url into an incognito window without logging into ig). The only way to avoid it is to manually edit the urls you share and remove this entire portion of text and all that follows from your url: /?igsh=
Anyway, happy not doxxing yourselves 👏🏻👏🏻
#Like it didn't happen to me yes but I definitely saw a few names I shouldn't have from people who sent me links#Ig didn't warn about this nor does it permit disabling this#Most people don't even know it's a feature since they never check their own urls from incognito and majority of the people they share with#Already have their account or simply don't mention this to them lmao#Anyways be careful this is a pretty nasty one especially to people who use their real name in ig or have a secret Fandom account 😂#I don't even use ig bit since I am temporarily using it this week I figured I might as well do a public service to y'all#Instagram#Ig#buns.txt#I know this is no longer a thing in Australia from the reddit thread I read#And I think that if you share urls from web it might not generate a url#Naturally if you copy an Instagram post you found while being logged out it won't generate your account id#But yes I think it's generally good to know before you reveal your account to an entire discord server or to the whole family chat

For anyone currently panicking about discord removing old accounts (2+ years of inactivity with warnings),
DELETING ACCOUNTS DOES NOT REMOVE MESSAGE LOGS. Old accounts that are removed will still have all of their message logs preserved as [deleted account #]. You will not lose any convos with friends, either those who just don't use discord or those who who've passed away. Their username will just be gone.
Deleting inactive accounts has long been a part of discord's TOS and frankly it's reasonable or feasible for accounts to last forever even if they've had no activity or usage. It clogs up a lot of things and would spiral out of control with time. This helps clear out old spam accounts, and people who have legitimate accounts get plenty of warning before anything gets taken down.
If you're still worried, you can preserve all your message log with DiscordChatExporter, a handy little program that can download entire servers worth of message logs at once. If you want to be sure certain messages are preserved, then the option is there. But again, discord deleting old accounts does not remove message logs with active accounts.
Please chill out and research the impacts of changes before instantly assuming the worst. Do not uncritically pass along posts making claims that can scare and panic other people without fact checking them.

How Tax Services in Burlington Support Seniors and Retirees
Understanding the Financial Needs of Seniors in Burlington, MA
As Burlington's residents age into retirement, managing finances becomes a top priority. Seniors often deal with fixed incomes, healthcare expenses, and complex retirement plans. Local tax services understand these unique challenges and offer specialized support. Whether it’s maximizing deductions or minimizing tax liability, professionals in Burlington help retirees stay compliant while keeping more of their hard-earned money. This personalized service brings peace of mind during an important life phase.
Maximizing Retirement Income Through Tax Planning
Tax planning for retirees in Burlington focuses on stretching retirement income while staying compliant. Professional tax advisors can guide seniors on how to withdraw from retirement accounts like 401(k)s and IRAs in a tax-efficient way. Proper planning also avoids penalties on required minimum distributions (RMDs). These tax services ensure that every dollar counts, allowing seniors to maintain their lifestyle and reduce unnecessary financial strain.
Property Tax Relief and Local Tax Incentives
Burlington offers several local tax relief programs designed to support seniors. These include property tax exemptions and deferral programs for elderly homeowners. Tax professionals assist in identifying eligibility and applying for such benefits, helping seniors reduce or delay their property tax bills. This type of support allows elderly residents to remain in their homes longer without the burden of rising property taxes becoming unmanageable.
Navigating Social Security and Medicare Taxation
Many seniors in Burlington are unaware that Social Security benefits can be taxable depending on their total income. Tax professionals provide clear guidance on how benefits interact with other income sources, potentially reducing unexpected tax bills. Additionally, with Medicare premiums sometimes linked to income, planning with a tax advisor helps avoid unnecessary premium surcharges. This expert guidance ensures seniors aren’t caught off guard when filing.
Avoiding Scams and Filing Mistakes
Seniors are often targeted by tax scams, and filing errors can lead to delays or penalties. Burlington's tax services help retirees avoid fraud and ensure accurate filing. Trusted CPAs and tax preparers offer secure services and up-to-date knowledge of the latest IRS changes. This support gives seniors the confidence to file safely and correctly, protecting their identity and preserving their retirement income.
Estate Planning and Gifting Strategies
Tax services in Burlington also offer estate planning and tax-efficient gifting advice. As seniors consider leaving assets to heirs or making charitable donations, proper planning can minimize estate and gift taxes. Local tax professionals coordinate with estate attorneys when needed, ensuring seniors' wishes are honored without unnecessary tax burdens. These strategies not only benefit families but also provide seniors with clarity and control over their legacy.

saw a tim scott ad on behalf of the republican running for senate for PA that made me mad for two reasons 1. Please stay out of pennsylvania business, tim. 2. The ad was mostly focused on how bob casey is "racist" for not supporting school choices. Which yeah I can see how you might get there but only if you've never spent more than 5 minutes thinking abt the issue. And this is important bc philly has lots of charyer schools ofc. yes charter schools position themselves as an alternative to the overtly racist public education system (housing segregation -> low property values in urban neighborhoods-> underfunded schools) but they are not under any circumstances a solution to the problem they're barely even a bandaid. But honestly I can't even get into it i wrote a 20 ish page paper on this my junior year of college which I actually presented at a conference in philly lol
#basically charter schools dont produce reliably better school performance they shift the burden of responsibility for a quality public#service (education) off of the government and onto parents who are already likely overworked and underpaid#they decrease racial diversity in schools (charter schools in predominantly black neighborhoods tend to be hypersegregated#while charter schools in predominanlty white more affluent neighborhoods are more white than the public schools#i could go on. but hey who could have guessed that school choice. of which the modern version today was basically invented#to prevent the racial integration of public schools could ever be racist. also they lack accountability and oversight#the hiring standards for teachers are much lower etc. the kids whose parents dont take the initative to find them a charter school#or who dont get picked in the lottery are fhcked over bc they are stuck in a poorly funded school whose resources are dwindling#thanks to school choice. whateverr why cant we all just acknowledge that the best choice is to reform public school funding

been seeing an uptick in accounts claiming to be marginalized people (black single mothers, diabetics in Gaza, etc.) asking for money so here's a reminder to:
not signal boost or reply to ANY asks without verifying the situation/person's identity
check the blogs for any original posts or reblogs - all of these scams have only a dozen or less posts and all reblogs from popular tags
no followers/fandoms/etc. in common
The most generous take here is "someone in need who created an account just to ask for help" but the much more likely explanation is "someone making this account(s) and looking through the reblogs of trending tags to ask for 'donations'"
and hey, some of these people very well could be in need! but I am not giving out my full legal name and PayPal information to someone who I do not know who has approached me for money under any circumstances and neither should you. Especially if there are bad actors trying to collect the personal information of people who are posting in support of social justice stuff like the Palestine genocide, Trans rights, etc.
Protect yourself so you can help out verifies causes. Do not risk your safety based on anonymous sob stories.
#literally I got one FIVE MINUTES after reblogging a post about the Gaza UN ceasefire#someone ABSOLUTELY found my account through that#public service announcement#scammers

keep saying i don't want 2 work another retail xmas but canNOT 4 the life of me make myself finish my goddamn fucking job applications !!!!!! death & dying & despair etc. etc.
#i dont dislike the application process for gc jobs on principle BUT#it does not mesh well w/ my difficulties re: starting & finishing tasks#but like i understand why u cant just send in a resume n hit done#NOT that there are many IT listings up atm...... and ill apply 4 clerical/admin stuff too#but an IT-1 STARTS a good $10k a year higher than a CR-5 soooooo :///#which is whatever its fine money isnt everything!! ill gladly make less if it means not hating my job!!!#but i also wanna. u know. LIVE. move out of my parents house. buy brand name snacks occasionally. maybe -gasp- go on a vacation#(not 2 say i dont make an attempt at travel now but thats with very finite savings that are def only going down not up)#also extremely frustrating 2 me the emphasis put on having a degree that completely locks me out of certain job categories#like. yes. there are for sure some where having the bg knowledge is important eg. an AU (auditor/accountant) or MA (methodologist)#and there are certain skills a degree (in theory) provides eg critical thinking research etc.#but not all of us have $40k+ to get tge fancy piece of paper saying we have those things. and u can have those skills w/o a degree#and smth like an EC which needs a degree in economics sociology or statistics is so arbitrary#and maybe not necessarily actually based in the majority of work done by the majority of positions in that category#ANYWAYS not me being bitter abt education standards YET AGAIN lol#idek if i could go to uni even if i could afford it. even tho i have 2 college diplomas id probably have 2 redo my grade 12 english 😶🌫️#also if money were no object id probably go for like. film studies or smth lol not sociology#tho. ngl. if i had the willpower and determination 4 smth so rigorous (i 100% dont) accounting does seem. interesting asdffhkkfdghh#ANYWAYS pt. 2 all this 2 say this is why i instead spent $10k+ on the only possible 2 yr diploma#that can still get u in2 the higher paying public service jobs. even tho ive discovered i Dont Particularly Care for programming. :(#thats an understatement actually i was actively in hell for like 80% of that program and the remaining 20% mostly wasnt coding

New IRS Tax Laws and How They Impact Burlington Taxpayers

Every year, the IRS updates tax laws that can significantly impact how individuals and businesses file their taxes. For Burlington residents, understanding these changes is essential to avoid surprises during tax season. Whether you are an employee, a small business owner, or a freelancer, staying informed about these updates can help you maximize deductions, reduce tax liabilities, and remain compliant with IRS regulations.
Key Changes in IRS Tax Laws for This Year
This year, the IRS has introduced several changes, including adjustments to tax brackets, updates to the standard deduction, and modifications to tax credits like the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit. Additionally, there are new rules regarding digital payment platforms, requiring platforms like Venmo and PayPal to report transactions exceeding $600. These changes aim to improve tax compliance and ensure all taxable income is properly reported. Burlington taxpayers should review these updates to understand how they may be affected.
How These Changes Affect Individuals and Families in Burlington
For individuals and families, the new IRS tax laws may result in higher or lower tax bills, depending on their financial situation. For example, increased standard deductions can provide relief to some taxpayers, while reduced eligibility for certain tax credits might limit refunds for others. Homeowners in Burlington should also be aware of updates related to mortgage interest deductions and property tax write-offs, as these can impact overall tax liability. Keeping track of these changes ensures that families can plan their finances accordingly.
Small Business and Self-Employed Tax Implications
Small businesses and self-employed individuals in Burlington face unique tax challenges, especially with the IRS cracking down on digital payments and self-employment income. The new tax laws emphasize stricter reporting requirements for gig workers and small business owners, making it essential to maintain detailed financial records. Additionally, certain deductions, such as those for home offices, business travel, and equipment purchases, may have been updated. Consulting with a tax professional can help business owners navigate these changes and take advantage of available tax-saving opportunities.
IRS Audits and Compliance: What You Need to Know
The IRS has increased its focus on tax compliance, particularly regarding unreported income and incorrect deductions. Burlington taxpayers should be cautious about their tax filings to avoid potential audits and penalties. Ensuring accurate record-keeping, reporting all sources of income, and understanding allowable deductions can reduce the likelihood of IRS scrutiny. With digital transactions now being more closely monitored, individuals and businesses must ensure they report their earnings correctly to stay compliant with federal tax laws.
Conclusion
Navigating IRS tax law changes can be challenging, but staying informed is crucial for Burlington taxpayers. Whether you're an individual taxpayer or a business owner, understanding these updates can help you make smarter financial decisions and avoid unexpected tax liabilities. To ensure compliance and optimize your tax return, consider consulting with a tax professional who can provide personalized guidance tailored to your specific situation.

> “What if someone had needed to get to their stop urgently?”
yes, what a valid concern! in fact, that’s exactly what had happened - two wheelchair users needed to leave and they couldn’t
Ok so, I just remembered how people in the comments of a tiktok video were being assholes, and I want to rant now :3
The video showed two wheelchair users at a train(?), who had just arrived to their stop to find nobody was there with a ramp so they could leave the train. One of them blocked the door so it wouldn't close, and this lasted for 15 minutes. The train was stopped for said 15 minutes. There was a button by the door, that said that it'd contact the driver when pressed. It didn't. People offered to go find the driver, and they came back with the news that there were no people in the platform to put the ramp. In the end, passengers had to go out, and place the ramp themselves, before the train could carry on. The wheelchair users had warned they were coming, and asked to have the ramp put there so they could get down. The platform turned out to have workers, they all just ran away because they'd never encountered the situation in which they needed to do this simple task.
Because of the workers' negligence, the train was forced to stop for 15 minutes.
Everyone's comments?
"Why did they block the doors and stop the train? So selfish" Selfish were workers who refused to do their job.
"What if someone had needed to get to their stop urgently? They shouldn't have stopped the train" It wasn't the disabled people's fault, it was the workers who were negligent.
"Why didn't they just wheel themselves down those steps?" They shouldn't have to risk their (expensive) chairs just because people didn't do what they were paid to do.
"If I had been in that train I would've been pissed, how dare you stop it" And you probably wouldn't have even thought about fixing the problem yourself, would you?
"Entitled assholes" Ok I'll leave you stranded in a train with everyone who could help you get down outright refusing to. Let's see who's an entitled asshole now.
If someone fights for accessibility, as much as it might be a bother for you, you do not have the right to be mad at them. If someone fights for accessibility, it is exclusively the fault of a world catered exclusively for able-bodied people.
So next time you think, "hey the consequences of these disabled people fighting for their rights bother me", instead of blaming them for this, help them solve the issue. This way, next time they will not have to fight at all.
Able bodied people, go out and fight for a fucking accessible world if you're not an asshole.
[ Able-bodied people are encouraged to reblog this post, but try not to derail ]
#if you’re able to#do help a person in an urgent need of assistance#but don’t stop there and make sure to write a huge complaint#and never shut up about it#hold both public and private services accountable for their shit
