Charles Peachock is a polymath. I have spoken with several over the years and always enjoy and learn from them. Charles is an entertainer, entrepreneur, marketer, creator, health nut, and more. He was on America’s Got Talent (sic) (AGT) in the early days and advanced further than any of the previous jugglers as he went to the finals. More than just juggling, he was the one who pioneered the lighted costume on AGT, too. He is in great demand by the Disney Cruise lines who keep him quite busy. But he also created, markets, and uses Audio Ape which is method for controlling your music and lighting for your show.

This week, Charles talks about his experience of performing/competing on AGT. He also chats about his background of why he moved from magic to juggling. As the creator of Audio Ape, he discusses why magicians need a show remote and the importance of having music to make your show better. It is rare when we get to chat with a unique talent so I know you will enjoy this episode.

spent the last hour constructing a qlab file for the show that's ONE WEEK AWAY i need to figure out/review this dance i made three years ago that i want to put in, and then i need to memorize my damn lines. ugh. the work of it all

y’all theatre is crazy. i love it and that it’s my job but also it has made me want to bleach my hair again.

i’m doing a jr production rn so kids 8-18 (i can’t even get into the bullshit the kids have pulled but just know that there has been a lot of it) and the backstage side is/has been insane. people just keep. getting. sick.

costume designer? on vacation (she deserves it but i miss her). head of make up (who is also an actor with a larger role in the show)? sick monday tuesday of tech week but they’re good now. director? was sick sunday monday of tech week but she’s good now. stage manager? sick thursday (last day of tech) friday (today aka when our show opens). only other people in charge of things backstage during shows? two people at the opposite ends of being teenagers (the prop masters/crew).

my jobs? assistant stage manager and technical director. except now we’re missing the sm so i’m also the sm even tho during shows i’m only supposed to be tech. i have also been the most consistent person throughout this whole rehearsal process (medically mentally emotionally (as far as they know lol)) and am genuinely afraid of how hard i am going to crash when we close.

Im doing a show rn and every time i update the cues i have to export a new pdf of the script to give to the stage manager and it takes almost an hour for my laptop to chew through it (its a libretto so i guess the geometry of the music notes takes a long time?) so now im just sitting at a random cafe table while my laptop huffs and puffs like the little engine who could and i cant go back home until shes done bc im too afraid to mess something up and have to start over

I am begging to know how the projections work in the dome in dimension 20. Like specifically in never stop blowing up, who controls which projections come on and when? Is it brennan? The projections crew? A combo of both? Are the panels an led wall or are they using actually projectors? How many?? How small are those projectors? How big? How are those placed for the image to flawlessly cover the whole dome? Was mapping that a nightmare? Do they use qlab?? How goddamn powerful are those projectors to have such high quality and brightness? Is it a bunch of really powerful short throw projectors? Do they project from the back or the front? How do they do that? I want that job how does one get that job. Anyway shout out to all the tech/art elements of never stop blowing up and dimension 20 in general yall rule
