once again minecraft fans be mad for all the wrong reasons
#minecraft#june speaks#dawg if u wanna be mad about the vault block be mad that we had to wait ages just to learn the key is used for what seems to be midgame gea#not that the vault performs an incredibly basic multiplayer feature that shoulda been added ages ago#it only feels like a disappointing feature cuz they took so long to tell us ''oh yea it unlocks player-specific loot containers''#which is a good fucking feature even if it's not particularly interesting! i'm very glad they added it!#this game really does need some multiplayer QoL changes when it comes to the gameplay n this is a great step towards that#it's just stupid to have to wait two months to learn that when by all means we were made to expect it did something more interesting like#idfk. open a secret area or summon a boss. which maybe it could still do! we just don't know yet. update's not fully announced yet!#personally imma save my negative feelings (beyond being annoyed having to wait that long for something that simple) for AFTER the update#at which point if the vault doesn't ever give better loot or if the keys never get any more uses i'll feel a justified mild disappointment#which like ngl. even that's motivated purely by my position as a seasoned player#i'm certain that as-is the vault is amazing for new and learning players in every possible regard. it's a good block n a great feature#but even considering that i feel like it's reasonable to want to be catered to a little bit as a seasoned player yknow?#beyond insanely tedious self-imposed tasks there's not a lot to minecraft's endgame. beat it a hundred times n eventually you get bored#which i think is why a lotta other people get so annoyed with some of these updates too#there's just not a lot bein added for the sake of catering to old players who want new experiences most of the time#anywho that's my bi-monthly minecraft rant outta the way lol

"For anyone missing context, Ludeo is a game-clip sharing/leaderboard platform that was recently announced to be partnering with Rain World to provide those services. The other day a post on Ludeo's linkedin came to light expressing their support for the ongoing atrocities in Gaza and the forced displacement of thousands of refugees throughout the region.
The publishers have now announced that they are indefinitely suspending their partnership with Ludeo and pulling the planned Ludeo update from the game. In response we'll be unlocking the server in a day or so, once this news has had time to disseminate and we've had time to rest up and prepare. Obviously an impending game integration with a company that praises and supports these atrocities is so awful and distressing that it's really understandable to want to protest and voice concerns, as we've done with the publishers. Once the server is open you're free to talk about Ludeo and the real world events behind this situation, although we ask that you avoid graphic or distressing details, and also remain respectful to other members and staff. We all reject Zionism in any form and we're all extremely troubled by this situation.
This server will never be a platform for Zionism or pro-genocide views, from companies like Ludeo or from users. We won't tolerate anyone attempting to bring hate speech like this into the community.

ok so i want to preface by saying that i love deep rock galactic. it's one of my favorite games. but at the same time it bugs me with how audio heavy it's cues are. bug ambushes are onl y announced by rustling, same with mactera ambushes. both leeches and grabbers have audio cues before they grab you, but at least you can expend a perk slot to get a visual indicator for those. stingtails have a bit of glow but its still mostly audio since youre just not gonna be looking at them very often? bet-c's are heralded by a siren, helmets and supply caches beep. just something like the minecraft subtitle system would be such a massive qol change for a game that i honestly think is extremely good. yknow just a small visual indicator that says "bug rustle", "helmet beep", that kind of thing

I've seen another blog mention that the JP server changed the weekly missions from rhythm games to guest room battles. Was there an explanation given for this change?

Explained? No.
Announced? Yes.
There was an in-game announcement (I believe packaged with the 4th year anniversary quality of life updates) which included a note about changing some of the weekly missions from doing Twistunes/Rhythmics to Guest Room battles.
I guess the devs just thought the battles would be less annoying to do than the rhythm games…? It’s definitely faster, especially with the new 3x speed (another QoL update!) to battles.

Second talent allows her to summon a Spirit Shadow within attack range upon deployment, if she has her summon in a nearby tile she gains Camouflage, her summon attacks enemies in her range inflicting a brief Slow and Afterimage, her summon can be attacked by ranged enemies
Skill 1 is a power strike skill that makes her next attack inflict more shockwaves and Stuns the targets for a few seconds, additionally it increases the splash range and shockwave damage multiplier
Skill 2 reduces her attack interval, increases her ATK and lets her attack multiple enemies at once, it also has an Overload mode where her attacks turn into a rapid barrage that hits random enemies and has a damage multiplier, this skill can be manually deactivated
Skill 3 immediately summons 2 more Shadow Spirits (up to 3 can exist at a time, will remain when skill ends), increases her ATK, greatly lengthens her attack interval, massively increases her attack's splash range, increases the Afterimage proc chance to 100% and gives her attack a damage multiplier, this is an ammo skill and can be manually deactivated
Showcased Logos, a 6* Core Caster with a very interesting and versatile kit
First talent makes his attacks have a chance to bounce and target another enemy + apply a brief slow
Second talent makes his attacks reduce the target's RES and increase the Arts damage they take for a few seconds
Skill 1 is an infinite duration skill that expands his range and increases his ATK, enemies that enter his range with HP lower than a certain % of his ATK will immediately be defeated, then deal Arts damage equal to the amount of HP the defeated enemy had to a random nearby enemy
Skill 2 increases his RES and changes his attack to a channeling type attack, the attack increases in power and gradually reduces the target's movement speed the longer it's channeled (up to a limit), if the attack is interrupted or the target is defeated Logos will lock-on to a new target and have the attack's power reset
Skill 3 expands his range, increases his ATK and lets him attack multiple targets at once, enemy projectiles caught within his attack range will have massively reduced flight speed and will be removed if they are still in his range when his skill ends
Showcased Civilight Eterna, a 6* Bard Supporter
First talent is the 3 "Fine Dust" that revolves around her, when one collides with an ally it increases the healing that ally receives from her trait effect and disappears, disappeared "Fine Dust" will respawn after a few seconds
Second talent makes all allies take less damage from Sarkaz enemies when she is deployed
Skill 1 is an infinite duration skill that increases her trait healing effect and reduces "Fine Dust" respawn time
Skill 2 increases the maximum of "Fine Dust" that can appear, immediately spawns more of them, increases their rotation radius, and changes the "Fine Dust" to hit enemies, dealing True damage and inflicting Bind for a few seconds, allies within range gain an ATK Inspire buff
Skill 3 expands her range, increases her trait healing effect and makes it so the "Fine Dust" no longer disappears, allies within her range gain a Max HP Inspire buff and will have their HP periodically redistributed/equalized
Showcased Amiya's Incantation Medic form
Her talent increases the Max HP of all allies when she's deployed and heals all allies by a % of their Max HP when her skill is active
Skill 1 increases her ASPD and her attacks heals all allies in a Bard range around her by a % of her ATK
Skill 2 immediately deals damage to all enemies in range + reducing their ASPD and movement speed for a few seconds and she gets +ATK for every enemy hit by this (up to a limit), for the rest of the skill duration she deals True damage and attacks two targets at once but this skill can only be used once per battle

hey so my girlfriend is definitely hard of hearing. she does also have audio processing problems, but she very much has actual problems physically hearing sounds. currently she literally cannot be in an environment with more than a very small group of people because past that she cannot hear any individual person saying something to her and it's strongly negatively impacting her quality of life, she has an awful time with phone calls, can't hear audio announcements like for bus routes, etc--but every time she gets a hearing test done, her results say that she doesn't have significant hearing loss and is actually at the low end of entirely normal and healthy hearing.
does anyone else have experience with this and know why it might be happening? does anyone have advice on how to address the QOL problems? she wanted hearing aids for a very long time, but now isn't sure if they'll help because of the hearing test results, but also just doesn't know why the results are what they are in contrast to her everyday ability to hear.

Hello everyone! Welcome to this month’s devlog!
If you just stumbled upon this, I am Adrienne, also known as insertdisc5! I’m the developer, writer, artist, main programmer, etc of the game. The game being In Stars and Time, a timeloop RPG, which is also the next and final game in the START AGAIN series, following START AGAIN: a prologue (available here!).  You can find out more about In Stars and Time here!!! 
LET’S GET TO IT. This month is a recap of all the fun things that happened this very busy month!!!
So many things happened this month!!! Let's go in order.
In Stars and Time was showcased at The Mix, a games showcase in LA! Or, well... That was the plan.

The Mix got canceled. Which sucks.
But!!! Thankfully, Jirard the Completionist acted immediately and streamed a bunch of the demos over on Twitch! You can watch my producer Dora and marketing coordinator Ariana present the game to Jirard over here (timestamp 04:07:06)! Thank you for playing so many demos Jirard!!!

After that, we showed a new small gameplay trailer during Future of Play! It includes two little scenes you may not have seen yet :3c As well as a little announcement!

Yes, you saw that right. In addition to PC and Nintendo Switch, In Stars and Time will also be coming to Playstation 4 and 5 at release!!! YAHOO!!!

And then. Steam Next Fest. Steam Next Fest is one of Steam's events where a bunch of devs can show off demos for their game! And ISAT was in it!!! Steam Next Fest is over, but did you know you can still play the ISAT demo? DID YOU KNOW?!? One week is not enough time to experience all the games Steam Next Fest has to offer, so we’ve decided to keep it online a bit longer! Go play it! Go!!!
We have gotten so many compliments and messages about how people loved the demo, and I couldn't be happier!!! I think I watched all the times people streamed the demo, and it was so fun to see people's reactions... It made my heart feel so warm... Thank you to everyone who played the demo, wishlisted the game, or said the game looked cool!!! (And yes I've been taking notes and I will change some stuff in the full release. I promise Sif won't say there's only one stool in a room when there's clearly three!!!!!)
As part of Steam Next Fest, I did a livestream of the demo for one hour!!! I got to play the demo, answer questions, and talk with a bunch of lovely fans <3 It was so fun, it made me want to stream more... One day, perhaps...

And on the development side, the console ports and the localization are chugga-chugga-chuggin'! We are working hard to fix some little bugs and add some small QOL updates.

I am excited to announce the first version of my new mod, Asoteria, an astrology based dimension. I have so many plans for the mod's development, but it's first version contains the raw components of the dimension, just a teaser for the world to come ;)
In addition to a few bug fixes and QoL updates, the next version will add its first proper biome, the Nova Meadow. It is home to the biome's first entities, new wood and trees, and naturally generates the honey quartz gem. Asoteria will be available to download on CurseForge soon after this post is published. the response to the update ive seenh on tumblr vs on the comment section is so differet
in the comments people are complaining that they didnt show much...and think that this is all they are gonna be adding
meanwhile everyones excited on tumblr
okay see I am so fucking excited for this. they both outright said “this isn’t everything” and basically said “we are making small qol additions” and I am a BIG FAN. I think there are always gonna be people who are disappointed but there are too many people who think minecraft should always do huge content updates. they shouldn’t. that would suck. minecraft works because it’s minecraft and we’re already at the point of “how do we update/add stuff without that stuff just making the game more bloated and worse-feeling to play”, which like, constant huge updates would vault over immediately. even if these were the only things in the update (WHICH THEY WILL NOT BE. they outright said these were the only things they were announcing so that they couldn’t break promises but that they were working on other details) I would be very happy with it! this is the kind of minecraft update I want! small details that make the game feel more alive!
anyway yeah I fully expect a lot of people in the community are going “that’s it? lame” and personally I think those people are wrong. glad tumblr understands what is truly up

On a break rn because I burnt out but honorable mention to the Do Not Disturb mode spell which is essentially useless unless the person reads textboxes and respects your boundaries, on top of being free for only one time per month.
I'm not gonna hide that this and the lenses thing soon after the announcement about how afk farmers (and by extension people that occupy server space without interacting with others) are ruining the good vibes of the game are making logging onto Sky a chore when they should have been features that could be toggled on or off at all times...
It's a damn shame because Sky is a really good game with passion poured into it, holding out for that art book, and while I respect that it's meant to be a piece of art, you cannot micromanage what your audience/players do without making their experience unpleasant.
Like I appreciate these options being here now, but they're not groundbreaking at all, basic QOL stuff should not be restricted to temporary spells or cosmetics...
