Hello, I'm sorry to bother you, but I forgot to ask what the best sunscreens are for black people without the white cast?

No, you're fine! I usually recommend Korean sunscreen as well, but there are a few "local" brands that are good.

Korean brands with no white cast: Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Sunscreen, Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun, CosRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream (you have to rub it in a lot however), and Abib Quick Sunstick Protection Bar.

Local Brands with no white cast: Neutrogena oil-free sunscreen, Bondi Sands Daily Moisturizing SPF 50, and Paula's Choice Resist Youth Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50.

One of the most important products in your skincare arsenal is sunscreen. Sunscreen actually has many benefits and there are plenty of sunscreens that are lightweight and will make your skin look and feel good. Here is a guide to sunscreen to help you out with all of your sunscreen questions. 

Benefits of Sunscreen

So what are the benefits of wearing sunscreen daily? 

Sunscreen protects our skin not only from damaging UV rays that can cause skin cancer, but it can also prevent signs of aging and discoloration. 

Chemical vs Mineral Sunscreen

There are two main types of sunscreen: chemical and mineral sunscreen. Chemical sunscreens use special chemical formulas that filter out the sun’s UV rays, while mineral sunscreens physically block out the sun’s UV rays by creating a physical barrier on the skin. 

Which one is right for you? 

Chemical sunscreens are lightweight, blend nicely into the skin, and do not leave a whitecast. So if this is a deal breaker for you, chemical sunscreens might be best for you. 

Mineral sunscreens are very gentle and are a great option for people with acne-prone or sensitive skin, but unfortunately they can leave a whitecast or feel chalky on the skin. If you are concerned about long-term exposure to chemicals and have sensitive skin, mineral sunscreens might be a good fit for you.

PLEASE use sunscreen darling, our melanin does help some (natural SPF of ~13), but you're still exposed to harmful UVB rays and at risk for sunburn, skin cancer, and wrinkles. Chemical sunscreens are best for dark skin because they don't make a whitecast. And you should be reapplying every 2 hours of sun exposure. Klairs Soft Air is made with essential oils so it might irritate you. It didn't break me out, but I have oily skin and it made me oilier. I've liked MUJI - Sunscreen Lotion, Purito Centella Green Level, Abib Quick sunstick protection bar, CosRx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream, and Missha Aqua Sun Gel. 2/3

i think the third ask got eaten 😭 but yes, i know who jackie aina is 😂😂and  I KNOW I NEED TO WEAR IT, I’VE JUST HAD TERRIBLE EXPERIENCES 😩😩 i always wear sunscreen over my whole body if i’m going to be outside for an extended amount of time, but i know i should find a daily one for my face as well. just haven’t found one that my body agrees with 😭

More sunscreens???? YES!😂 Many brands released new sunscreens after the sunscreen fiasco, and I picked up a few sunscreens from Shopee in June while I was waiting for the Try Me Review Me ones. I mean you can never have too much sun protection can you?🙈 
Skin1004 Centella Air-Fit Suncream ☀️
This suncream has a truly creamy texture that isn’t heavy, blends in quickly, and leaves the skin glowy and moist. It’s made with 20% centella asiatica extract, and patented ingredients for hydration and brightening. What I love best is that it absorbs fully into the skin, keeping transfer minimal. I’ve always struggled with getting sunscreen on my clothes and hate that it stains the collars. 
The biggest drawback for me however, is the scent. It has a rose scent that most people would enjoy but is unfortunately a migraine trigger for me. It’s been bearable but the scent lingers for a few mins (too long for me).💀 
Klavuu Vegan Zinc Suncream 💫
I have to say this was a purchase solely motivated by packaging but I was not disappointed! 🙈 The flat tube with its bright cheery print totally drew me in, and I’m so glad it did! This is in fact my favourite amongst these 3 for its lightweight, fast absorbing, gel texture. I don’t use the little nozzle in the cap, but instead twist it open to get my 3 fingers worth of sunscreen. 
The tone up effect is very natural, and my skin is left glowy without any sticky residue, and with a smoother texture. It’s a new launch and has a light clean scent that doesn’t linger. It works well under makeup and has ingredients to soothe and moisturise .
Abib Quick Sunstick Protection Bar ✨
While the Abib Sunstick has been around for awhile, sun sticks have only just started really taking off and this has been touted as one of the best! I picked up both Abib’s sunsticks but have noticed that this has a lighter texture. 
It is colourless, hydrating and doesn’t require blending in, though blending it diffuses the shine without compromising the glow. I’ve not noticed it messing with my makeup below and it helps keep the shine at bay. It has a curved shape for easy reapplication over a large area of the face, and minimal scent.
