Rav looks so cute in your style :0 and just as he deserves Ravio has the most artworks by a lot compared to the others lol
Been seeing a lot of these going around and wanted to try one myself. Originally planned for two more spots but it was taking a long time to finish this so I condensed it a bit but I had a lot of fun drawing all these characters and loved exploring the different AUs.
AUs included:
Kinstone from @the-links-we-share
Link Windin from @alinktothepresentau
Rue from @monstrous-fusion
Effigy from Suncaster AU by @quirkle2
Wind from @heroesspirit
Sky from @exodus-au
Ravio from @lous-tangledchains
Bumblebee from @lozriftsintime
Twilight from @recalled11
Dust from Linked Dreamscape @the-sleepydetective
I plan to do more of these in the future and the AUs were picked at random using this Spinner which I made using the LOZ Au Masterlist

I had a dream the other night that i can't stop thinking about, where a new LOZ game was released in a similar vein to TOTK, except instead of collecting sages like in that game, there was a series of dungeons/temples that were directly tied to other LOZ games, and at the end, you gained the ability to summon the avatar/ghost of the hero from said game -like the TOTK sages- to help on your quest (and get a fun power up). All of the links would have stilted dialogue with you at first, but as the game goes on they get more friendly and at the end of the game theres a cutscene where they all "move on" and it's super emotional cuz by this point they're all brothers (player-link actually emotes during this cutscene, the only time he does so, for an extra punch in the gut). I don't remember all of the details, but what I do remember was:
A Palace of the Four Sword dungeon where you gained the Link(s) from FSA. FSA Link was the simplest in terms of abilities, the avatar would split into 4 and distract enemies/fight alongside you. Pretty sure this was the first one/tutorial temple. Later on this link gives you a sidequest after which you gain the Four Sword as a weapon (its the second strongest in the game behind the master sword).
A Tower of Winds dungeon where you got Minish Cap Link to tag along. He allows you to shrink for short periods of time to get through locked doors/escape danger. Don't remember much about this dungeon except that there's a timer to get through it before yiu have to start over.
Forest temple/great deku tree/kokiri forest type place where Oot/MM link joins up with you. He allows you to rewind time for a little bit (basically the recall ability but on everything including you). Later on He gives a sidequest that results in obtaining the Fierce Deity Mask (best armor in the game).
Arbiter grounds dungeon where you get TP link. He's basically a glorified horse; you ride him around.
Tower of the Gods dungeon where you get WW/PH Link to tag along. He's like Revali's Gale and Tulin's gust in one.
The dungeon to get the Master Sword is like the Skyview Temple, and to be allowed to draw it you must beat SS Link as the final boss of the temple, After which he joins you on your quest. He allows you to do skyward strikes with any one handed weapon.
A secret, optional dungeon that you only unlock by falling asleep on this random island. It's kohohlit. The only avatars/ghosts that you can access here are OoT/MM Link and WW/PH Link (because PH was a dream and MM was an alternate reality). By the end, You get Alttp/albw/LA link who can put enemies to sleep for a time. Later he gives you a sidequest to get ravio's bracelet, which opens up a few easter eggs and secret loot.
Other links/games were included as easter eggs but they don't stick around. BOTW/TOTK Link is a recurring ghostly NPC who you can find in all the weirdest places, offering seemingly nonsensical trades that change every time you see him (10 frogs for 13 bombs, a ruby for an apple pie, 35 monster parts for a single ancient arrow, etc). There's a few places around hyrule where you see two-bit LOZ1/LOZ2 Link just vibing. ST Link takes the place of Purah or Robbie as the eccentric scientist/engineer who will upgrade your stuff if you bring him materials, and he can also upgrade your ghost-Link-friend's abilities as well since he's -y'know- Hero of Spirits.
There's murals in the castle from Cadence of Hyrule, and there's "ancient history books" about HW and AoC. Throughout Hyrule you'll meet various NPCs claiming to be from different countries here to see "the birthplace of the hero of Holodrum/Labrynnia/Calatia."
Various Zelda's would show up too. You get a sidequest where you have to sneak aboard a ghost pirate ship. It's Tetra's. There's a mysterious sheikah warrior who repeatedly accosts you on your travels to loredump and test if you're ready to fight the big bad. She only ever brings you down to half heart, at which point she makes a disappponted comment and leaves. you aren't able to beat her until near endgame, at which point she reveals herself as sheik, has a brief conversation with Oot/MM Link, gives you some cryptic foreshadowing advice and a few fairies, and dips. BOTW/TOTK zelda is similar to her link since she can be found all over the place, but she deals exclusively in ancient materials and dragon parts. TP Zelda gives lore/exposition when you finally make it to the castle, right before the big bad fight.
Big bad is an amalgamation of all ganons/ganondorfs/big bads across the timelines. He telegraphs attacks via shifting forms to look like various bad guys (forms tentacles like bellum and Majora (at the same time) before slam attack, gets blue pig face before charge attack, long purple vaati hair and bat wings before AOE gust attack, scales up his arm and X on face before big AOE lightning blast, and big fuck-all sword and gerudo features before slashing. 2nd phase has it split into like 5 separate beings to fight you and all your friends at once (each one has different features: one is similar to bellum/majora, one is more beast-ganon, one more demise, one Vaati-esque one, and one Ganondorf-like one). The music is harsh and disjointed, cobbled together from many other games, and the noises that the beast makes are screeching and painful.
By the end of the game, there's a big deal made by SS link that you are the final Link in the cycle, that it's over, that you finished what he couldn't. There's a sense of hope, but also of sorrow, since all your new friends are leaving now. They're ghosts, they're dead, they've done their duty and it's time for them to rest. Before they go, though, each one gives you one last gift (the ability they've been helping you with this whole time) and one last sidequest (one for each of them) for you to accomplish: find their treasures, keep them safe.
Post game is you running around without the ghosts (FSA Link's ability duplicates you now, giving you 3 buddies to fight with, but they can't give dialogue and they last like 30 seconds so it's not the samel), doing mini-dungeons and fetch-quests in order to obtain major key items (all old and unusable anymore) from the Links' adventures, (the Beetle, goddess harp, spinner, shards of the fused shadow, deku/goron/Zora masks, gnat hat, various kinstones, pictobox, deku leaf, LA instruments, Ocarina of Time, wind waker, etc) and some from games not mentioned previously or not from your gaggle of links, (Harp of ages, rod of seasons, silver arrows, a doppel, ST panpipes, a revival doll, Cadence of Hyrule Lute, HW blue Scarf, old and broken Terrako, champion's tunic, BOTW champion's picture, trirod, etc). In post-game, there are new NPCs to replace the links/zeldas that used to fill those niches, but it's not the same. They're gone. It's a bittersweet feeling.
After you finish all the post game and get all the treasures (basically 100%ing the game), you get an achievement called "archive of the ages" and a special cutscene where Player Link sets the Master sword down on the side of his bed, looks out the window of his house at the brilliantly setting sun, smiles, and falls asleep. You may no longer play on that save file anymore. The adventure is over.
Basically I dreamt up a game that was a love letter to the entire series, and I'm sad it was just a dream. Logically i know this will never happen because that would mean tying up LOZ and it's too much of a cash cow for Nintendo to ever stop making, but it was a wonderful dream to have for a little while.

Links Meet AUs List
A lot of AUs get lumped together with Linked Universe, so I wanted to make a list comprising any and all original Links Meet AUs I could find! Please let me know if I’m missing something, you want your AU to be removed, a link is broken, or if you know an AU’s status so it can be moved to the correct dedicated category.
DISCLAIMER: Please pay attention to the content warnings on some of these AUs! I haven’t personally read every AU so I don’t know what some contain, but if an AU has something you don’t vibe with, there are more than plenty of others that you will love on this list! Please be respectful and kind to everyone! This list is both for archival purposes and to appreciate the creativity of the community!
Additional Notes: Some AUs have dedicated Tumblrs, some can be found through original tags, some are only on ff.net or ao3, etc. I have a separate list for AUs limited to Discord/DMs that I have not included here unless I receive permission to do so! Also, if something is separated by ||, that means that theyre 2(+) separate AUs by the same creator in the same tumblr… if that makes sense LOL. This list is Always Updating so be sure to keep an eye out for any new AUs!

----
Link was no stranger to nightmares.
At this point, they happened like clockwork as his subconscious weaved and re-weaved each moment for his mind to relive.
And at the end of every nightmare, whether he woke in a cold sweat or with his old wounds aching, Link always felt bitter about how real those dreams felt to him. At the time, the places and faces that haunted him felt perfectly captured and the fatigue and pain within them were so genuine to his memories.
Ha! If only he could see just how much of a shoddy job those nightmares had done.
Because, even if that traumatic moment would always be a core memory to him, the truth is that years had past and Link had grown up; that wound had scabbed over and scarred, he didn’t need to carry the bleeding pain everywhere anymore.
And as such, those night terrors turned out to be quite the vague recollection in the long run.
There was always crucial details that would eventually be left out.
Because in those dreams, Link couldn’t feel the weight of his Uncle’s sword in his too small hands, couldn’t feel the way they wouldn’t stop shaking. He couldn’t feel the stinging pain of his bare knees digging into the stone ground and scraping them. And he couldn’t feel the traces of wet blood that lingered on the hilt.
But this, this was all too real.
The gods could only be this cruel, to make him relive this pain.
----
----
Occasionally he wonders what his uncle, a former knight, would think of him?
Would he look at him with anger? Shame? Or with horror, covered in the blood of Hyrule's 'noble' knights.
Some knights his uncle no doubt once served alongside.
He recalled the stories his uncle once told him, the acts of bravery and courage that the knights preformed. How could he forget when his uncle would happily tell it to him whenever he asked?
Yet when he was staring down at the bodies of those knights, his tunic splattered with their blood. Men who's only crime was being brainwashed to serve Agahnim. He felt nothing.
How would his uncle react to him? To witness him staring down at the cooling bodies without a single trace of grief or guilt.
Would he recognize him as his nephew? Or think him an impostor?
It was irrelevant in the end, he could speculate on that for years and still never come to a conclusion.
He was numb to it.
(...Even though a part of him feared the answer all the same..)
---
---
"While I can't tell you what to do Mr. Hero, I can assure you that having something to eat would help put some life in that body of yours all the same."
"...I'm not hungry."
"Please...All you've had was a bowl of broth two days ago..."
"..." Ravio wrung his hands anxiously, staring at the young hero seated in the corner of the room next to a window where the sun could shine it's days over him.
Eyes stared blankly at nothing in particular, staying utterly silent unless Ravio urged an answer out of him.
It was rare for to see him stay in one place for long, normally Ravio would only catch sight of him when he came to restock his supplies, only to swiftly leave as silently as he came.
If it wasn't for the fact that it would mean never seeing him period, Ravio would have preemptively prepared his usual stock of items and set them aside for him to grab at his leisure.
He always left after restocking, gone for days at a time before returning for an hour or two at most. Looking more haggard each visit.
But this time, it's been a week since his most recent return, and he has stayed put since.
The only benefit to his recent return was now Ravio could actually check on his injuries, with him bruised and wounded whenever he came by.
It always scared Ravio, that every return could very well be his last.
Yet, no matter the injuries, he never showed signs he was in pain.
Never much of a said a word. Just eyes staring blankly from a pale bruised face.
Ravio knew on the rare occasion he caught him, his eyes were red and puffy, as if he had finished crying. But no tear stains were ever seen.
He didn't dare ask for the cause of his state.
(In a way, it looked like he was mourning. He couldn't imagine the level of loss needed to send someone like Link into such a state.)
Ravio felt so utterly helpless, yes he provided Link with items and weapons. But now he feared doing so would lead to his death.
Because that's how it looked to him, like he was purposefully walking to his death.
But to think that wouldn't imply that Link wanted death.
and the young hero who silently accepted to help him did not seem to have even the slightest sense of purpose to even have an urge for death.
A enjoy shell that simply did what was needed and if it died...
...Well he may as well be half way dead with the way he rarely took care of himself.
That was why he always tried to get Link talking, tried to ground him in the present, even if it was a failing effort.
He wanted to offer help, yet he feared any wrong word could be the final thing that tipped the hero over the edge.
What could he tell him that didn't sound strange? That didn't make him look like a fool?
He didn't know, and he refused to risk it, so he played it safe.
"Alright...could you at least drink some broth?" He asked, reaching to the tray of food he placed on the nearby table and grabbed the small bowl of broth.
An exhale escaped from the Hero's lips. "No...Maybe later.."
"Please, just a little bit, it'll settle your stomach." Ravio insisted, holding the bowl out, "I know it must be unhappy with the lack of food you've had lately."
For a while there was silence between them.
But before Ravio could pull the bowl back, Link finally gave in, and slowly took it from his hands and brought it to his lips.
The room was silent, save for quiet gulps as he drank the warm liquid. After a few gulps, he set it on his lap, staring down at it.
"Thank you."
Ravio blinked in surprise, "For what?"
Another sigh. "...Being kind." Link finally spoke up again, his voice soft and quiet as if he was speaking to himself.
"...Well...you're welcome." A shaky smile twitched on Ravio's face.
Legend nodded but didn't look back up.
Ravio frowned slightly, then decided to change the topic.
"Do you think you'll be able to get some sleep tonight?" He ventured, looking away from the hero to look at the sky outside the open window.
He didn't expect an answer, nor was he disappointed at all when he got none.
Instead of asking questions further, he turned and moved towards the door, softly saying, "Please at least finish the broth." before closing it behind him.
Eyes followed him until he vanished behind the door.
—
—
If Legend had the energy, he would have felt bad for stressing the Lorulian, yet the pressure the weighed down his body left him much too tired.
He didn't want to deal with the things that surrounded his life right now, he really didn't.
So instead he simply sat there and allowed his mind to wander, hoping he could just cease to be, for just a moment.
It was difficult, considering the amount of thoughts bombarding his brain.
If Ravio had asked him about any of his previous journeys, he would have answered with full honesty.
He barely recalled any of it.
Just pain.
So much pain it made him utterly sick.
Enemies that should have easily been slain with a simple swing of his sword left his utterly breathless with exertion.
His endurance, his strength, every pain filled experience that earned him the skills he had accumulated over the years.
All of it, reduced to nothing.
He had scars in areas that shouldn't be scarred.
He had unscarred skin in areas that should have been scarred.
He had memories he wished he hadn't, things which he did not wish to dwell in the slightest.
(To realize it may have all been one beautiful dream-No...no he couldn't dwell on it. Not for one second. It would break him.)
And despite this, despite everything that he'd gone through, he remained the hero he always was forced to be.
Had there truly been a point in time where he felt any pride for his title? (Had it truly existed at some point?)
Had there been a time where fighting for the sake of the kingdom, even when he thought he was about to collapse from the constant battles, was worth it?
If he had a chance to recall any such moment visually, he certainly couldn't recall it emotionally.
Couldn't even pull up a scrap of the pride he may have once felt. There was none left. (Because it may as well not have-stop right there.)
He was just...so tired.
...What was the point of going on.
—
—
Link left the next morning.
The empty bowl of broth next to the tray of cold food the only indication he had been there. (At least he finished the bowl.)
Ravio sighed at the sight of the empty chair, turning his gaze down to the letter in his hands.
It was a strange request he received a while back. (Very strange, He was a merchant, not a postman.)
Deliver this to the Hero, Link. That was what he had to do.
He could have refused, but his curiosity (and self-preservation) got the better of him.
It seemed rather personal, and although Ravio found it suspicious he felt compelled to follow through, because it could very well be something important.
He didn't need to know what exactly was written inside this mysterious envelope, just deliver it and be done with it.
But with the state Link was in. He was uncertain when was a good time to hand it over.
He had decided to swallow his anxiety and simply give it to him. But it seems he waited too long to make his decision.
Now he doesn't know when he'll will return.
Perhaps Mr. Hero won't return for several more weeks.
Ravio sighed, shoving the letter into his pouch, heading back towards his room.
----
----
His limbs hurt.
The Gibdo continued to approach.
He had been too focused on eliminating them, so much so he had forgotten the white Bari.
Electricity had coursed through him, leaving him stunned long enough for the Gibdo to strike him.
It was all he could do to block each attack aimed at him, blocking and dodging even as he grew weaker by the second.
Each hit that landed (hits that shouldn't have landed, he should have been better than this.) it landed hard, making his head ring and his vision become blurry.
With his strength spent, with his body weakening by the second due to exhaustion. it took all he could give to finally defeat them.
He allowed himself to collapse on the floor. Even as his body protested the sudden movement.
He gasped, closing his eyes for a moment.
The pain he felt in every inch of his body pulsed strongly. He felt dizzy...sick...heavy...
How utterly laughable. He genuinely would have chuckled if he had the energy to do so in this state.
He couldn't even handle such weak enemies, even when he knew their weakness and strengths.
He should be able to handle this better. What did it matter if he was bleeding from several cuts. He should be able to fight longer, fight more fiercely.
Why couldn't he fight like he once did?
What was the utter point of these memories, (they were real, they had to-stop, just stop. It'll break you.)
"Why..." he rasped out, hand weakly clenching the handle of his sword as a large shadow covered him.
"Why can't I just let myself give up..?"
The Wallmaster descended on him, he didn't bother to struggle, and the Wallmaster did not hesitate to pull him into it's grasps.
"I want to give up." he continued to speak, his raspy voice echoing into the dungeon room as he was pulled from the ground.
"I want to give up..."
He repeated over and over again, tears falling from his eyes as his eyelids fell heavy with weariness and exhaustion.
All he wanted to do was give up, because this wasn't just a nightmare. A nightmare he could wake from. This was crueler than any nightmare.
This was actually happening. This was real.
Everything that was supposed to be true had become false. (No one was where they should be. Nothing was as it should be. It was all so very wrong.)
And yet, he couldn't give up.
He wanted to give up, yet he kept going.
There was no point in giving up. Just as there was no point in going forward. He wouldn't get to return to where he wanted to be even if he did.
Return to everyone.
Was he still going forward because a part of him believed there was still a chance?
That if he continued on, he'd see everyone again?
He never learned from his foolishness did he?
The world around him faded to black as the Wallmaster carried him away in it's grasp
and he let it. It’s not like it was going to hurt him.
He simply didn't want to think right now.
-----
-----
He's dying.
If not physically, than certainly mentally.
Ravio didn't know how to feel, staring at the unconscious form lying in the bed.
He wasn't going to even try to understand how Link managed to return in such an injured state. No healing items in his pouch, his weapons and shield in terrible conditions.
If Sheerow hadn't brought his attention to the weak rise and fall of his chest. Ravio would have considered the collapsed body a corpse.
The thin trail of blood indicated he brought himself here. (hopefully the dark clouds in the sky meant rain, blood trails were bad for business.)
Yet here he was, alive.
He looked so broken, so exhausted. He was paler than ever and looked as though he hadn't eaten for days even if the lack of food in his pouch indicated he had eaten something.
He had bags under his eyes that spoke volumes of his lack of sleep and he was shaking, breathing uneven and irregular breaths causing Ravio's stomach to turn in response. (a fever?)
What kind of land was Hyrule if it allowed it's hero to become like this?
A land that didn't seem to care about it's hero who had suffered for its sake.
(Even after everything he seemed to have done for this place..)
"You really are a useless one..." He said to himself. His smile was fragile, his tone harsh.
All he could do was offer Link items and minor assistance. He doubted his companionship was worth much right now.
But it was all he could give.
"...I'm sorry..."
---
---
He didn't know how long he sat there. His head down in his knees, arms wrapped around his legs.
The sound of waves almost soothing in a cruel way. The sand beneath him, a gentle cool feeling that briefly distracted him from the ache he was experiencing.
He knew without looking that the moon was large and full, that the stars were plentiful in the island's sky.
It was peaceful. Peaceful and familiar and he hated it.
He didn't have to open his eyes to know it wasn't real. That this was a dream and eventually he would awaken, find himself in bed being watched over by Ravio most likely.
(He never slept well anymore. When was the last time he felt rested? He never knew if it was a blessing or curse that he could when he was dreaming. Everything he remembered always ended with cruel realizations.)
So he simply sat there with his head buried in his knees, forced to listen to the waves and waiting to awaken once more.
He ignored the scent of sea salt floating along the breeze, the touch of mist from the ocean spray tickling his skin.
And he did everything to ignore the (false Not real) presence next to him.
Because if he acknowledged that presence, then he would be forced to endure the pain that came with it, and he did not need to relive those memories again. He had lived with that trauma far too often.
But the presence next to him remained. And still he tried to ignore it.
But it didn't work. It never worked.
"Are you going to keep pretending I'm not here?"
His heart jumped at the voice.
"I'm afraid so." (He didn't mean to answer, didn't mean to react, but he could never deny her when she spike so kindly to him.)
Soft laughter was his answer, and he could feel his traitorous heart quicken with joy.
He didn't want to acknowledge that someone was there beside him. (That she was there.)
That it was the person that could bring him peace when he needed it most.
Just as he didn't want to acknowledge the feeling he felt whenever she spoke to him, that warmth in his heart. The joy he felt whenever she laughed joyfully at him.
The happiness he felt every time he was around her.
"I guess we're stuck together, aren't we?"
She moved closer. He could hear her. He tried to tell himself she wasn't there. He tried to tell himself he was hallucinating. He tried to remind himself he was dreaming. Yet his breath quickened. He swallowed heavily against the lump forming in his throat.
But he could never refuse to acknowledge it.
He knew it wasn't possible. And he knew it was a dangerous thing to admit to himself but still he couldn't help it.
"Don't tell me you are truly mad at me for being here?"
She teased him lightly. (She had a wonderful laugh, he wanted to hear it more.)
"I could never be mad at you." He answered honestly, never daring to make her think he felt anything less than affection for her.
Because he couldn't dare imagine spending a life without seeing her smile. Hearing the genuine laugh that escaped her lips. Seeing her eyes sparkle with happiness when he told her funny stories.
It was unfair. All the things he remembered. All the happy moments they had shared together. He wanted to forget.
Because they were nothing but a dream he had been forced to wake from.
They could never be real just because he wanted them to be true.
They weren't real. She wasn't real. (How that thought hurt)
Everything here was fake. Everything he was experiencing right now, was all a lie, a dream.
(Nothing here is real.)
Everything was an illusion. There was no hope for it to be real.
A dream of which tore itself from him when he finally gave in to it's sweet allure.
"Then why does your face look so upset?"
"Do I appear upset? Do I have something to be concerned about?" He replied. (because he couldn't let her ever believe he was upset with her. He couldn't bare to handle the hurt that would cross her face.)
"Yes. You don't sound pleased to see me."
"...I will always be happy to see you." (Never a lie)
"...Then why don't you lift your head up?"
He was tired, but he didn't care about any fatigue. He just wanted her to go away. (No, he wanted her to stay. To never leave. she should never leave. He needed her here. Hecouldn'tloseheragain-)
"Please..leave me alone." (Why did he say that? He didn't want her to leave? Please, she mustn't leave-)
"Why?"
"I can't stand the sight of you right now..." (Shut up. Why won't he shut up? Why was he saying those things to her when he didn't want to let her go?)
"Is that what is making you upset?"
"Yes." (No)
"Then why won't you look at me?"
"..Because.." (He was terrified.)
"You should look at me."
But he couldn't.
He wasn't strong enough.
(Why was he always unable to resist temptation?)
"So you don't want to see?"
"See what? I'm sorry."
"I'm asking if you don't want to see my face?"
She was close now, he could hear her breathing. Could almost feel her next to him.
A part of him prayed she would close the distance, reach out and pull him towards her so he could be wrapped her warmth.
(To have her lift his head up to gaze at her, caressed his face, run her fingers through his hair...)
When he thought about her it made his whole body shiver. And there was nothing that could calm him down, save the simple fact that it was her presence that filled his entire world.
"Link-"
"Just go!" He could feel the tears gathering in his eyes as he raised his voice at her. (Don't say his name. Don't say it. It's too much. It'll weaken him further. He'll give in. He'll give in if she says his name and give her what she wants.) He refused to allow those tears free rein.
(It was stupid and selfish of him, but he didn't think he'd resist it if they fell.)
"Just leave..." He rasped out, hugging his knees tighter. "Just leave me."
(Please...please, I beg you…don't leave. I'll have nothing else left. Don't leave me. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.)
"I'm not leaving you Link, not while I'm right here." He flinched as her hand touched the top of his head.
(Warmwarmwarmwarmsowarmsoutterlywarm) Her fingertips running across the top of his skull.
"Please look at me?" She whispered.
"Leave me.. please…"
Her fingers continued to brush his scalp.
(He didn't want her to stop. He didn't want her to leave. Pleasedon'tleaveme.)
Slowly, she moved her hand down, he shivered as her touch left a trail of wondrous fire in its wake. Slowly and gently, she pulled her hand away from his head, and he nearly whimpered.
He could hardly breathe as she placed the palm of her hand on the side of his face, sliding it under his chin and gently pulling his head up.
"There you are," Her voice soft and gentle.
He felt a tear slip down his cheek, yet he was unable to look aware from her.
Not when she looked at him with such a loving gaze.
Her thumb wiped the tear away and it burned where her skin met his skin. A small sigh escaping his lips as her gaze traveled over his face. His eyes closed and he leaned into her hand as it cupped his cheek and allowed himself to get lost in the love he felt.
It was like the world disappeared around him. Nothing mattered anymore. He only cared about the warmth of her hand against his cold skin.
"Why do you keep crying over me?" She chuckled. Her thumb rubbing his cheek softly. She didn't know how much he loved when she did that.
(He couldn't answer her. He couldn't bear to hear her response.)
His eyes opened, and he found her smiling. It lit up her beautiful features perfectly. Her eyes twinkled with kindness.
He wanted to stare at her forever.
He reached out and took her hand in his, interlocking their fingers as he intertwined his fingers between hers, squeezing tightly.
"I'm afraid I can't answer that." He breathed.
She nodded. "Why?"
"Because then you'll realize what kind of a selfish fool I am."
"What makes you think that?"
He sighed heavily, trying to find the words to describe everything, but he was exhausted and it didn't take long until the tears started falling again.
"I hurt you..." He whispered to her.
She stayed silent.
"I hurt you and cared for only my own wants...and you suffered because of it."
"..You must really feel guilt over that, don't you?" She commented softly. He didn't answer her question out loud. She didn't need a response.
(Yes...Yes I do...I never stopped regretting)
He tightened his grip on her hand. He was trying so hard not to cry. To push back the emotions that threatened to engulf him and show her how much he truly regretted the pain he put her through.
He squeezed her hand and he leaned forward. Her forehead was resting against his, both of their breaths mingling together. Her hand holding his tightly as well. It was a comforting gesture, one that he craved.
"I hate myself for what I did to you."
"We all hate ourselves sometimes." she smiled, brushing the tears from his cheeks with her thumb. "We're human after all."
"What matters is what you do afterwards." She looked at him kindly.
"So what do you plan to do, Link?"
He couldn't speak for a moment, but her gaze never wavered from his face. Her eyes were filled with nothing but understanding.
"Whatever it takes to make it up to you, I will." He answered honestly. He wouldn't hesitate in doing anything to make her happy. Anything to prove to her that he still had a heart inside. "Anything I must."
"Then don't worry about it right now." She said. She slowly brushed his tears away and she rested her forehead against his once more.
"Just relax and take a deep breath. The outside world can wait for a moment." She spoke reassuringly.
He shook his head, still trembling.
"If you keep shaking like this I might just think that you're mad at me." She laughed.
The laughter of a woman who was willing to give him another chance.
(How can she be so kind to him?)
"And then I'd start getting worried again." She laughed softly. He couldn't help but laugh as well. She pulled away from him, moving to sit pressed next to his side.
Her arm snaking around his waist to pull him closer.
He was able to relax and lean against her.
His heart was beating faster than it should be. He knew that he shouldn't, but he still couldn't bring himself to move away from her touch.
Her fingers began stroking through his hair. It felt nice.
They remained sitting in silence, watching the waves, simply enjoying each other's company.
"...I don't want to wake up..." He murmured quietly, "I want to stay here, with you." finally admitting his true feelings out loud.
(He didn't want to return to a world where she wasn't there. It hurt. It hurt every second he was awake and away from this peace.)
"We all have to wake up from our dreams eventually." She answered, smiling as he relaxed into her embrace. "Even the ones we enjoy."
"But I'm not ready for that." (I don't think I'll ever be...)
"You're wrong." He twitched, realizing he had spoken that aloud, "You deserve everything good in life. You don't deserve to trap yourself in a dream. You deserve to be happy."
She gave his hair an affectionate stroke.
"And I'd be very happy if you gave yourself a chance."
(I can't...not after what I did...)
The tears were streaming down his cheeks. He felt a lump in his throat, as the tears threatened to choke him.
"...Close your eyes Link." She whispered softly.
"I..." He hesitated but soon relented. (He could never deny her when she asked him so gently.)
He did as she asked, and she held him close.
He leaned his head onto her shoulder, her scent calming him as he tried to control his sobs.
"Just drift away now, you shouldn't stay here forever you know." She said, pressing her lips to his forehead.
(She was warm and smelled good. Comforting. Like finally returning home.)
But how could this be? She was never meant for someone like him. She deserves someone
better. Anyone better. But he was selfish, he could never let her go.)
"I wish I could." He sobbed.
"But you can't." She replied, "You'll see...you'll see...everything will work out."
He didn't reply; he just held her closer. He buried his nose into her neck, shoulders shaking, inhaling her fragrance deeply.
"Link?"
"...Yes?"
"...Good Night..."
He sniffled and tried to burn every part of this moment into his memory. Even as a heaviness slowly pulled at him away from it all.
"Good night...(y/n)..."
And then, he was gone.
----
----
----
"I...um...I have this letter for you." The spoonful of stew paused it's trip into his mouth as he looked at Ravio.
He blinked, "...Is that so?" and set his spoon down when Ravio nodded.
It had been two months since he had woken from that dream. A month since he stopped Yuga. It had taken him time to recover from both it and the injuries he had sustained.
He had been letting himself recover slowly, mostly at Ravio’s insistence; going about life as best as he could after the last battle.
Yuga was slain, Ganon defeated once more, Lorule was restored, and Hyrule was at peace for the time being.
Ravio had eventually returned a few weeks after everything was settled. Using the excuse that business was better in Hyrule than back home.
(He threw a spare key at his head and told him to clean up after himself.)
He never had that same dream again. A part of him felt angered that the only source of happiness he had received in so long was ripped from him once more.
Yet another part of him felt both numb, yet somewhat accepting about it.
(She did say he couldn't stay there forever. Even as a dream, (y/n) was always watching out for him.)
He watched as his friend fiddled with the surface of the small envelope in his hand before handing it over to him.
He stared down at it, wondering what kind of letter it contained. He flipped it around, but the outside of the letter was blank.
"Who gave you this?" He asked, placing the letter on his lap for the moment.
Ravio fidgeted.
"Nobody! I-I mean, no one in particular...Not to say it's not not anyone in particular...i" He laughed nervously, "P-Perhaps the contents of the letter can answer your question? It's a really weird story."
Link nodded, he doubted Ravio would hand him a dangerous letter.
"I-I um...haven't looked through it yet."
...Or maybe he would. At this point he wasn't sure anymore.
"Trying to get rid of me after I did your job for you?" He bluntly commented.
Ravio sputtered and tried to defend himself but Link simply handed him his nearly empty bowl.
"I'd like some more please."
Ravio blinked and tried to decided between reacting to the now clear teasing or to immediately get him another bowl of stew.
But his desire to see him eat more trumped his desire to complain.
"...I'll make sure to heat it up." He said as he grabbed the bowl and left with a small huff.
He relaxed against his pillow for a moment before he picked up the letter again when Ravio left, and stared at it. Something about this letter didn't feel quite right. But it didn't feel wrong enough.
He eventually decided to open it.
Peeking within, he saw several folded pictures. He could see images of the sky in many of them. Pulling them out, a small slip of paper slipped away and fell on his lap.
Looking down, he noticed writing on it. It took him a moment to register what dialect it was written in, and only then did his heart begin to race at top speed.
It shouldn't exist here. This dialect shouldn't exist in this era.
How-
Legend looked at the door. As if Ravio would come in at that very second. But the merchant didn't.
Looking back down at the slip of paper, he swallowed.
'To the Hero of Legend.'
He wasn't called that yet. In this moment in time, he was just the Hero of Hyrule.
His title came later.
A shaky exhale left him as his hand trembled a bit harder holding onto the note tightly.
Looking at the folded pictures on his trembling hand, he slowly unfolded it, the contents within revealing-
...Captain..? There was no doubt who was in the picture. No other person could possibly come to mind.
He re-folded the photograph, as if to take a moment to gather his wits.
(Was it real?) His mind whispered, (was it truly?)
His breathing quickened. His stomach felt like a knot. Every nerve in his body was on edge as his heart was ready to burst.
Slowly...he unfolded the picture again, gazing at the calm face of the Hero of Warriors staring back at him.
It...It was him.
There was no mistaking who it was. No mistaking the sword only a Hero could wield.
(Could it actually be true?)
He looked through the next picture and a lump formed in his throat.
The sailor, a bit younger than he last remembered (a bit thinner as well), but still so easily recognizable. (The captain must have used his Picto box)
Even young and without his markings, Legend could easily recognize the old man. (He looked as tired as Legend felt. Yet there was a sense of peace in his gaze that could only have come from being near his most trusted.)
A genuine smile appeared on his face, the first one in...so long that he couldn't truly remember.
Legend's breath caught in his throat. (It was him. It was actually him.)
His vision became blurry, and before he even realized it, tears were running down his face, his body shaking.
He quickly brought a hand up, swiping his eyes to try and regain composure.
He kept shifting through the pictures. Eyes devouring each and every new image that he saw next.
Warriors. Time. Wind. He even saw Ravio. (And he suspected he could figure out how this letter came into the merchant's hands.)
Each image sent his heart soaring. (It was new. new new new new and real)
There was Zora Princess Ruto and the Goron Chief Darunia from the Old man's era. The Sage of Earth and the king of red lions from the sailor's.
People he shouldn't recognize but did. it set his mind spinning.
But it was the last picture that made him pause.
The last one that left him breathless.
Her smile, her blue dress, the Hibiscus in her red hair.
"M...Marin.." He choked out.
It was impossible...she shouldn't exist...she had been a dream.
But to deny her image in this picture would mean to deny the images of all the others.
And he simply couldn't handle that possibility.
It was her. It was truly her.
"(y/n)..." He whispered, he stopped trying to fight the tears that continued to fall. "You were right."
She had once told him of a possibility.
'If there are parallel worlds that even you've been to. Wouldn't that mean Koholint was just a world that fell into the Windfish's dream like you did?'
He had considered that possibility many times. But it never went far. because how would he prove it? By the time he met (y/n) and the others, Koholint was years behind.
He had considered, but never truly believed.
Because how would he go about finding evidence?
...With a picture it seemed. A picture that showed her happy and healthy and alive.
The realization shook him to his core.
All this time, he thought he mourned a life he had believed was forever lost.
All those times he wondered why he had been burdened with that weight, even if it was a weight he carried by his own choice.
The nightmares that haunted him for years.
But this one image...It left him dizzy with joy. She hadn't disappeared.
She was alive.
He took in each picture over and over, trying to absorb every little detail he could.
If Marin was alive... His brothers remembered...than that meant...that meant (y/n)....
Legend covered his mouth, unable to control the sobs escaping. He could hardly breath as he struggled to hold back the cries.
(Y/n) was alive.
(Y/n) was alive.
All that he went through hadn't been for nothing.
Marin was alive. Most likely back home now that the war was certainly finished. (Not gone. Not a mere memory.)
His sword brothers, they were all out there, waiting just like he was.
Waiting to be reunited once more.
It made him so utterly happy.
"Mr. Hero?" Legend looked up at Ravio who nervously stood by the door with the tray of food.
"Are...you okay?" He asked, slowly approaching, scanning Legend to see if he wasn't injured again.
His eyes settled on the pictures that had fallen from his grasp and onto the bed, surprise crossing his face as he registered what the pictures contained.
"I.." Legend breathed, a smile stretched across his face. "am more than okay."
That's what mattered, after everything he had to go through. It was all real.
Everything that mattered to him was real.
All he could do was cry from the joy of that simple fact.

-Bargaining’s Limit
Characters: Ler!Link, Lee!Ravio [Fandom: The Legend Of Zelda (ALBW)] Warnings: just a tickle fic!! :] subtle/hints of spoilers for ALBW though?
Summary: Link’s had enough of his painfully inconvenient item deal with Ravio and decides to work an apology and an improvement out of him, in his own silly way.
Notes: i think i kinda lost the attention of my followers from being inactive for so long and i know ALBW is less popular than other zelda games so. i would love some interaction if you enjoy this😭❤️ kept it as in character as i could! :)
-REBLOGS ARE APPRECIATED-
——————
Link entered the sho- his house with a clear goal in mind. Set that dumb deal straight and get Ravio back for his greedy tricks!
The hooded shopkeeper welcomed him with his usual quirkiness as he dusted the counters, then queried him about what he could provide today.
“Ravio, you can provide me with way cheaper rentals, that’s what! My wallet is crying rupees!”
“Oh but my prices are as low as low goes! Surely with your valiant quest and therefore need for my items you can spare a few extra hundred rupees for your pal, buddy!” He replied proudly.
Link sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, resisting the urge to laugh, “You really can’t see how stupid it is?” He raised an eyebrow. That’s it.
Link held his lips from curling into a smile and approached his friend as he imagined the outcome of what he was about to do.
“I only see fairness Mr. Hero! Out of the goodness of your heart and the-hehAH-” The merchant was suddenly interrupted by his own voice.
“Ticklish?” Link smirked and retracted his hand from Ravio’s hip.
Ravio’s heart skipped, a new feeling of giddiness and fluster lighting throughout him.
He scrambled to answer, “What-PPFSH n-no…?” chuckle “Nope.” He crossed his arms and held his sides.
“I think you are!!” The grinning hero approached him as he shuffled back.
Butterflies flutt- no, swarmed in his stomach. The not so subtle excitement for where this was going teased at his nerves. Ravio felt the connection of playfulness sparking between them, a feeling he was very ready to welcome after so long without.
“N-Now this has nothing to do my deals, buddy!” He protested, his voice wavering as he tried to suppress the anticipatory giggles creeping up his throat.
He grasped the merchant’s hips once again, “Well I have to get you back somehow!” he retorted winking, unable to keep that smirk off his face as he began to squeeze and knead into the spot, recalling the way he reacted when he did it the first time.
“WAIT-waihahait hero we can tALk aboUT THIHIS” Ravio stumbled over his words and backed into a counter, spilling out giggles and trying his best not to fold like a lawn chair from the fingers attacking his ticklish hips.
His false voice had already been slipping from the moment Link had first taken him by surprise, but that bit of control he had left was now completely gone, and Ravio was kicking himself. Just some tickles to fully tear down the grouchy guise of his so well-hidden voice? Really?
Link payed no mind however and slipped under his leather band, beginning to squeeze his sides, the other instinctively scrambling to escape the ticklish sensation and tripping over himself, quite literally falling into laughter as Link followed him down to the floor.
The blonde boy easily removed the midriff accessory and went straight back for his sides, squeezing up and down and spidering in circles. Ravio twisted and turned, squealing out a waterfall of giggles and frantically pushing Link’s hands away as his legs tried their best to kick from under him.
“You laugh softer when I go down here…” two squeezes to his lower sides.
“And you laugh harder when I go up here…” three squeezes travelling up them. Ravio belly laughed as the cogs in his mind turned with Link’s. What was he-? oh no.
“So…” He locked onto his target.
“WaHahahit naHAhah—HAH!” he barked out suddenly, before trailing off into awkward and nervous giggles, giving Link as pleading of a stare as he could give through the mask of his hood.
“Bad spot?” Link chuckled, starting up again the moment after he spoke, skittering up and down Ravio’s ribs - leaving his loud and frantic laughter to answer that question for him.
Ravio’s hood jumped about along with him and began to lift, the slightly quietened sound of his laugh becoming clearer, and realisation hitting him in the face as light creeped in.
He scrambled to clutch onto his hood and keep it down, which unfortunately for him, was an obvious mistake and too perfect an opportunity for Link to miss. The blonde quickly shoved his hands under Ravio’s arms and scribbled into his hollows, a grin spread across his face.
The squeal he let out was unbelievable, getting a snort out of Link himself as he curled in and clamped his arms down, refusing to let go of his hood.
Which didn’t help, trapping Link’s wriggling fingers and sending all the more ticklish sparks buzzing along his nerves. He spluttered and amusingly squealed out as many half-hearted protests as he could.
“IHihi- th-this wihihill rahAHAISE YOHOur priHIces si-hihIHAH-SIGNIFICANTLY!-AHAH”
“Threatening me in this situation? Really?” The boy smirked, slowing his tickles a little.
“Well whahat are yohou gonna do? You cahahan’t tickle me to deheath Hero.” Ah. Rookie mistake.
“Oh you wanna test that theory?” He set his hands back on the giggler’s ribs, twitching them a little.
Ravio tensed and felt himself gaining an even wobblier (and wider) smile on his face, squirming, “Wahait-wAItwaitWAIT yohou wouldn’t-” He spluttered, convincing his arms to move down and hold Link’s.
More and more giggles seemed to bubble out of him in anticipation and nervousness. And the light squeezing to his ribs Link was kind enough to provide him with weren’t messing with him any less either.
Anyway, turns out he would go there. He definitely would.
“MR. H-HEHEHEHAHAHAHAA!! LIHIHINK!” The merchant was screeching with laughter, grabbing desperately at his attacker’s hands as they kneaded into each sensitive bone.
Link couldn’t help but smile as he vibrated and wiggled his fingers into the ticklish crevices of his rib cage, digging out every cackle and wheeze he could find. He absolutely deserved this.
“NOHOHAAHAHAT THEHERE!! PLEHE- I’M GONNA DIHIE!!!” Ravio threw himself about like a fish out of water. Wasn’t this guy was supposed to be a rabbit?
Link strategically placed his fingers on every bone he could, paused for a second, and tased as quickly and evilly as he could as his friend arched and gasped and bursted into another round of harsh cackles, falling into a hyper-giggle fit in between every shock.
His laugh was so funny and contagious, it reminded Link of his own. His smile was wide and his heart was so warm with affection he almost forgot the reason he started all of this.
He had missed these kinds of moments. The times where he’d get into trouble with his friends, where they’d laugh together for ages and his biggest worry was waking up late for work, when his responsibility for the kingdom and the princess was still in the past.
This was the happiest he’d felt in a while, for once he felt like there was nothing wrong with the world, like it was just him and Ravio. Just him and this strange, funny, stupidly ticklish ‘merchant’.
Link dazed in the moment before snapping back to reality, meeting before him a wheezing, snorting, curled up Ravio, realising he’d been practically murdering the guy this entire time.
He slowly halted his attack and patted his friend on the shoulder, moving to sit off his legs.
All his thrashing had yet again revealed a glimpse of the underneath of his hood, only a little. Link wouldn’t look any further but just enough to see his smile. To which he felt his own butterflies fluttering in his stomach, it was so playful and happy, so genuine.
Residual giggles filled the air, “O-Oho my gohoddess I thought you wehere gonna kill me!”
Link scoffed, “Don’t be dramatic! You’re not earning any sympathy from me, the amount of times I’ve fallen in battle and you’ve snatched your items back immediately! You greedy guy!!” He scurried his fingers over Ravio’s stomach, earning a squawk and another round of laughter.
“HEhey thahat was the deheal!! And I thihink we knohow who’s fault it is anyway judging by ‘the amount of times I’ve fallen in battle’ buddyYHA- HAHAHAH” He flailed as another attack was launched again by an ‘irritated’ hero.
“OKaY OKAHAY stahahap!” Ravio snorted and shoved Link as he sat up further.
“I didn’t overstep did I?” Link gave him a nudge.
“No, not at all. It was…fun.” Ravio’s tone was warm and lighthearted, one that spread through the room.
“You’ve learnt your lesson?” Link raised an eyebrow, smiling.
“Yes yes I have.” he giggled, head in his hands.
“…I don’t have to lower the prices though right-OKAYOKAYIMSORRY”
No matter what he pulled Link couldn’t seem to shake his affection for the merchant, being somewhat drawn to him and feeling their bond grow despite only short moments of interaction.
And this seemed to be mutual.

And you never knew, how much I really liked you.
To my Legend lovers. And to my friends on discord, I did the thing :)
Characters: Legend, Reader, mentions of Ravio, Time, Wind, Sky, Warriors, Twilight, Wild, Four, Hyrule and Marin.
Warnings: Idk Legend crying at the end bc why not??
Legend knew that treating you like this won't really solve anything. The snappy remarks, piercing glares, and the absolute harsh accusations that spill from his mouth.
The arguments with the rest of the chain about how they trusted your words way too easily for his liking. Come on now! They're heros who's been doing this for awhile, they should understand about enemies disguising themselves to attack until they're vulnerable!
Yet deep down, he too fully trusted your words as well.
Underneath all his actions?
He remembers.
Legend doesn't really know why he was the only one that remembered you straight away. Perhaps it's because of how many adventures he's been on, and the way that you willingly stuck by his side through out all of it.
He remembers your soothing voice of comfort after his journey on Wind Fish Island. The way you comforted him and reassured him on what happened, but that feeling didn't last.
You disappeared.
You left him.
And again when the world called for him only then did you return. Once more did you guide him through his adventure, but you weren't just a companion. No, you were someone he cherished deeply. You were his friend, the only person that knew of his troubles and you knew him like the back of your hand.
Those nights of hushed whispers when Legend had time for solitude. Those nights of you guiding him through his injuries, and those touches of warmth that he felt after patching himself. You called them 'feel better kisses.'
Legend remembers the time you welcome Ravio with open arms. He didn't miss the way how Ravio would speak so softly towards him, whenever he asked about you or asked if you wanted any item in particular. In return, Legend would voice out your response.
He recalls the time you encouraged him to jump into the lake for him to cool off, after he lost his temper at a merchant. The way your giggles echoed in his ears, a bit muffled, since he refused to appear in the surface since he felt his face burn a bit.
The way you spoke adamantly about wanting stay and listen to Marin whenever she sang the ballad. It was honestly both of your favorite tune.
Until one day did you finally left him for good. The night before your disappearance you were even more affectionate than ever. Hogging his attention and all around his body was this warm feeling as if someone placed a blanket over him. Legend felt giddy since you've never acted this way before. He relished in your affection as he returned home to lay in bed.
As he prepared for bed, it was the only time he was able to relax. To feel like he didnt need to worry about his next adventure nor worry what who or whag to save next. Legend heard that familiar ballad again, but this time it wasn't Marin's voice, it was yours.
Legend, surpisingly allowed himself to be vulnerable tonight as he laid in bed. He mourned the people of Koholint Island, and his heart ached for a certain purple merchant that can no longer visits.
Underneath the covers did he enjoy the soft singing of your voice. Eventually, he bid you a good night, and he could've sworn you whispered a 'Sweet dreams.'
"I'm sorry-"
Now here you are standing in front of him physically. And sweet Hylia were you even more magnificent than he could imagine. Finally being able to see your expression, the way you stood, and being able to put a face to your voice. Legend greedily took in all the details of who you were until he realized what you did.
You gave him false hope of being together, and being at his side. Now you pretend that the past years of wondering and solving dangerous dungeons together didn't exist?
That his hardships were nothing but entertainment for you? Was Zelda nothing to you? Was Ravio's affection to you also nothing?
Legend hates you.
He hates you and your stupid [color] hair.
He hates the way your voice reach his ears whenever you spoke with the Champion.
He hates your laugh whenever he catches you with the sailor.
He hates the way you unashamedly gave your affection too the Traveler.
He hates how you and the Old Man can speak so softly to each other during those quiet moments.
He hates the way you flirt back to the Captain whenever you wanted to tease back.
He hates the look on your face whenever the Smith shows you his variety of artifacts and tools he's created.
He hates the way you rest with the Knight. The look of ease and the full trust of being in each other's company.
But he especially hates the way you sing with the Rancher. Familiar melodies that you sang before with him.
Yet Legend still loves you. He loves you so much that he would give up everything he has just to be with you.
Legend has traveled between worlds, and he would do so again just to have you once more.Except he felt that sickening feeling of envy. He wanted you to hurt the way he did after all those years.
Although the nagging thoughts that appear, saying that it won't fix anything that has happened. He's just too stubborn to acknowledge the longing that's still there.
And now as he stands in his home. His cluttered home with artifacts that he has collected during his time adventuring.
None of them held any value to him except for you.
His adventure is over, and so is yours.
They took you home.
Legend, finally alone, collapses onto the ground. Gripping his hair as hot tears fall down his face, the world around him gone as he loses himself in thoughts.
Because I never even told you, Oh, and I meant to

Seelies and Selkies - Fae Names and Danger
"Why do you let a fae hold onto your name? Isn't it dangerous?"
Legend recalls. Bleeding and breathing heavily, terrified as he stared down the poachers trying to rip the pelt from his shoulders. He had only meant to go for a swim, but was caught in a fishing trap. He tried transforming and running away, but the injuries were too painful for him to go fast. He heard cruel laughter, squeezing his eyes shut. No, this couldn't be it. He couldn't leave Ravio alone.
"He's mine." The words echoed with a deep shudder, lake water roiling with the power of them. "And soon you'll be the forest's."
Name magic didn't always parse to Legend. The rules seemed vague and nonsensical, but that was the case for all fae magic. No matter how much it befuddled him, he had never felt more grateful for it as Hyrule reached out through his soul, magic surrounding and consuming the attackers.
They didn't leave the lake alive.
"No, it's never dangerous. Not for me."

Hello to all Linked Universe Fans on Tumblr. Please give me feedback on my first Fanfiction. Let's me know if I should keep writing. Thank you!
----------
Summary: The portal splits off the Chain into mostly there own eras. Wind fights the war if ages, Wild heads off on his second adventure, Time has kids, ect, and they all reconvene five years later to continue there adventure.
I only have one chapter ready at the moment. Do I continue with this story idea or try another one?
----------
Chapter One- Final Watch
Legend had the final watch that night. As he sat not-so-comfortably on a stump that very courteously had decided make its sharper sections known, a small, white portal appeared just behind the sailor.
Legend drew his weapons and shook Time awake, who then proceeded to pull out his own sword and kick Twilight.
"Get up!"
"Out of bed! Weapons out!" Captain ordered as he quickly climbed out of bed. "We've never seen this kind of..." he faltered. He was about to say something more when the portal came and swallowed Wind whole.
"Hyrule! Move!" Legend shot towards him and yanked him backward and away from the portal that had shown up behind him. "Do you recognize these portals? That question had been directed to Warrors, but he was still in a frenzy over Wind.
"Wild!" Time and Twilight shouted in unison and began to pull him out of a portal. As they were doing so, Hyrule was ripped from his arms and through the white circle, and Four's yelp was heard from across camp as he, too, vanished without a trace. Without a trace. At least they were all keeping there stuff. A shout of surprise sounded from Time, but the Captain was too late. He'd already fallen through.
"Who's still here?" Warriors asked as he help Twilight hold onto Wild.
"You, me, Wild, and Twilight." Legend answered.
A loud snore escaped Sky's blanket, and it immediately diapeared on a flask of white light. The Captain did the same and Wild fell through before he noticed that Twilight wad missing. Legend let the portal take him, but he did not allow himself to go unprepared.
----------
No preparation had been necessary. All of his belongings were sprawled across his living room floor, and Ravio was sitting up groggily from where he had fallen asleep at a desk covered in books and maps.
"Mr. Hero?" Ravio yawned. "Welcome home. I have some new deals on display if you'd like to check them out."
"No! Shut up or I'll make you start paying rent!" Legend ran through the event in his mind, attempting to figure out exactly what do next but to no avail. Ravio was fully awake now, and realized that Legend came alone and without the chain.
"Is it over? The adventure?" Ravio asked quietly.
Legend shook his head. "It couldn't be. We didn't do anything. At least, nothing that could have pulled it to a close."
Legend spent the next couple hours talking to Ravio about what happened, and what it could mean.
"So we are absolutely clueless." Legend let out a defeated sigh.
"So it would seem Mr. Hero." Ravio paused for a moment. "Didn't you tell me once about an Orical?"
"Which one? There are three."
"I recall you called her Nayru. The orical of ages? If anyone would be able to provide answers about what's happening in different ages, I think it would be her."
"True. Nayru could probably give me some answers, though I'm not sure if she'd be able to provide something helpful."
They sat there for a moment in silence. Except for Ravio who had slowly made his way back to bed and was lying there suspiciously still, and particularly quiet.

GUIDE TO MY AO3: LINKED UNIVERSE
Hi, I have way too much writing and want to be able to find it easier myself. Hopefully this helps you, too.
My own AU That Broken Promise can be found here for a guide to art/music/bios, or here to just understand the writing portions.
My work for other AUs (Recalled, Ageless Soul AU, the Dark Chain, and Bad End Links) is here.
My NSFW list (including doubles from all other AUs) is here.
My General Zelda list (including doubles from all other AUs) is here.
IIII
Linked Universe as a series is found here on Tumblr.
This will be organized by the "main" story of what I write, my most notable side story (the Doll Fics), and then a brief list of which of the General Zelda fics are considered "canon" to this AU.
I will also try to include here which fics lead into each other, where I remember.
All archive warnings from AO3 are possible in the following, including some Linkshipping. Please mind the tags!
Enjoy!
MAIN "STORY":
SHINING EYES, in which Time is possessed and the Chain must get him freed and hope the cure for what ails them isn’t worse than the illness. Rated T for moderate violence.
BREAKING THE FAITH: Time handles being back among the Gerudo, even in someone else’s world, poorly. Rated M for attempted murder and mature themes.
RAVIOLI INTERRUPTED, in which Ravio sends the Chain on to the city so he can have some alone time with his lover. Rated M for sensuality.
THE DOLLMAKER: What kind of person makes the dolls that so often saved Hyrule’s life? What would she be like? Rated M for graphic violence and temporary character death. Leads into a series all its own, ALL THE LITTLE DOLLS. (Listed below)
YOU'RE NOT ALONE, Wind wakes up bleeding and has to ask Hyrule what’s wrong. Rated G, talk of menstruation.
SKIN & GOLD, in which Time must save Legend from Gerudo slavers and try not to lose his composure in the face of Twinrova being... kind? Rated T for mature themes.
BROWSING AMONG THE LILIES, Time returns home and Malon does her best to comfort him. Rated E for consensual sex. (Direct continuation of Skin & Gold)
MAKE IT STOP, Ravio comes to see his lover after Warriors writes to tell him he is very unwell. Rated G. (Direct continuation of Skin & Gold and Browsing Among the Lilies)
DON'T TOUCH MY BROTHER, In Wild’s era, Hyrule catches someone talking to his brother in an unpleasant way. Rated T for brief violence and sexual harassment.
KNOWING ONLY MAKES IT HARDER, Warriors pushed himself to exhaustion until Sky drugged him to spare him further injury, but he does not take being tricked well at all. Time talks him down. Rated G
THROUGH THE VALLEY, in which the Chain winds up somewhere nearly pitch black where Wild’s Slate says they’re in the Gerudo Desert but they very much are NOT. Rated E for graphic violence and temporary character death.
IN THE DARK, POV swap of Through the Valley into Warriors POV. Rated M for graphic violence and temporary character death.
DO YOU TRUST ME, in which Legend gets pollen in his mouth from a strange plant in a strange, dark realm in Wild’s world and has a bad trip. Rated G. This fic got art from @kikker-oma during Fan Joy July! (Related fic to Through the Valley)
CARMELIZE. Twilight never really wondered why Warriors watched him cook before. He honestly barely noticed he did it at all, until suddenly he moved to leave. Rated G. (Related fic to Seared and Turned)
SEARED AND TURNED, Warriors has a nightmare, but he doesn’t want to bother anyone with the details. Rated T, for graphic nightmare imagery. (related fic to Carmelize)
UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES, Malon writes Time with a question about how her beloved husband, who most definitely cannot get her pregnant, did so anyways. She has her suspicions. Rated M for sensual descriptions in epistolary fic.
TOO MANY QUESTIONS, Wind is curious and Hyrule’s happy to answer his questions, but some things are too specific to brush off as unimportant how he came to that conclusion. Rated M for frank discussion of sex acts. (Related fic to Under Normal Circumstances)
LINK HEART-EATER. Hyrule got a nickname long before he was in the Chain, and before he ever killed Ganon in fact. It’s the kind that can come back to bite you. Rated E for graphic violence.
PRIVATE COMFORTS, Hyrule/Warriors Linkshipping. A moment stolen after Link Heart-Eater, in which Warriors reassures Hyrule he doesn't think him contaminated by what he had to do to survive.
THINGS BEST LEFT UNSAID, in which Time, Warriors & Twilight get drunk and complain about politics and home and things some of the others never thought they’d hear. Rated T for mature themes.
LANGUAGE BARRIERS, AND OTHER THINGS. Warriors finally notices something odd about how Twilight’s Zelda speaks of him. Rated G.
MERMAID LAKE, Ravio comes to visit the Chain, and Warriors tells him Legend went off to the lake to blow off steam. Ravio knows exactly what that means. Rated M for sex.
FIRST, YOU MUST FORGIVE YOURSELF, Sky is having a hard time after being kidnapped and tortured, and Time tries to talk him down. Rated M for discussion of sexual violence.
SCOURING LIGHT, Up against violent monsters far stronger than anyone was used to, Time tries to use the mask and fails. Sky takes it -- but Sky didn't think of what opening a channel to a God might do when used by the Goddess' favourite. rated T
THE UNSPOKEN PAST, Warriors knew Time could react violently when surprised, but he had assumed that his reaction was much like his own. Still, he hadn't expected him to react like that to Lana. Rated T (Related fic to First, You Must Forgive Yourself)
WIND AND RAIN, On a stormy night, the Veteran isn't sleeping as soundly as the rest. rated G
HOW DIFFICULT TO SAY, Time has a nightmare -- one of many -- but after so long with the Chain, he wakes far too tired to be the soldier they've all come to expect him to be. rated M for graphic nightmare imagery.
CLOSET DOORS, Time was drunk at a ball in his own world, and the Captain asks Legend to go make sure he made it to his room alright. Legend is more than happy to escape the ball himself, but he doesn't much like what he finds when he reaches Time. rated T
ALL THE HARM I'VE EVER DONE, Alt POV of Closet Doors. Time isn't happy to be back in his own world, nevermind in his own court. He doesn't want to make this a problem for the rest of the Chain, but the court has other ideas. rated M
ZELDA'S LULLABY, after All the Harm I've Ever Done, Malon comes to see her husband and finds him with Zelda and in need of some gentle care from his two lovers. Rated E for sex. (Direct continuation of both All The Harm I've Ever Done and Under Normal Circumstances.)
BAIT & SWITCH, The Chain is separated out of a portal and on the search for Legend, someone else shows up -- someone Sky thought Warriors and Time knew, but something doesn't seem right. It's making him worried worse will happen to Legend before they can sort this out. rated T (Related fic to First, You Must Forgive Yourself and The Unspoken Past.)
THE SEALED GROUNDS. They arrived in Sky's time, in Faron Woods, and didn't find the village they expected. Instead, they found Ghirahim: Ghirahim with a blank-eyed, tortured child. Ghirahim, who got Sky to give himself up to save the boy, while Wild dove into the fray to save Sky. But will they reach him in time? Rated E for torture, aftermath of torture, and implied/referenced sexual assault.
DOWN-DOWN-DOWN, Alt POV fic to The Sealed Grounds. Sky gives himself up to save his younger self from Ghirahim's torture, but he's taken from the Chain and subject to the sword's whims instead as he tries to raise the Imprisoned with his blood. Rated E for body horror and non-con.
FALL TOWARDS LAND. At the center of the dungeonl, they fight an armagohma and it is far more savvy to their tactics than anyone expected. Mistakes happen: even catastrophic ones, and some monsters can make sure of it. But when Time rises from a fatal injury, Sky has to wonder what really came back. (Related fic to Shining Eyes)
DENOUEMENT, aftermath of the Doll fics "Dog Days" and "Steep Your Lungs in Wine", where Time asks Warriors to tell him the truth.
SADDLE SORE, Time gets separated from the Chain and ambushed by a lynel in a strange Lost Woods which has something special in mind. Rated E for rape/non-con
Side stories: All The Little Dolls (All fics in this series carry on from The Dollmaker linked above)
WHERE IS MY HARMONY, WHERE IS MY FRIEND. In Warriors' world, in a city with no one he knows, someone ambushes them and stabs Legend -- not with a knife, but a needle. Legend probably would've taken the knife better. [Legend Dollfic]
DARK DESPAIR'S CORRODING HAND. The harbourmaster took exception to them not having the right papers, and took Time as collateral for their pains. Time wouldn't have let him take anyone else, but the flogging ended what felt like hours ago and Hyrule prays they find him alive. He has a doll... When he goes for the doll, it breaks. [Time Dollfic]
DOG DAYS. Twilight thought this was his Hyrule and his Castletown, but Telma doesn't know him, or the Twilight, or anything else and Twilight hasn't returned from the Castle in good time. When Time hears an Ordonian man was arrested, he hopes he can arrive in time to save him. [Twilight Dollfic, among others. 3 chapters]
STEEP YOUR LUNGS IN WINE. Alternate POV of "Dog Days." Warriors thought, between Twilight and Time, that they had things under control. He couldn't have been more wrong.
IT HUNGERS STILL. The Chain finds an abandoned well, in a familiar abandoned village, and Wind doesn't think it's that big a deal if he just looks in another room. Time isn't even paying attention to him anymore. [Wind Dollfic, among others.]
GOOD IS NOT NICE. In Warriors castle, the Chain relaxes and Legend wonders when Hyrule got so many things in that muslin bag in which he keeps his dolls. They take a look, and when he hands back Warriors' doll it breaks. They were supposed to be safe here. [Warriors' Dollfic]
HIDDEN RUIN. Sky was separated by a portal and fled black-blooded monsters for a hidden pool but now he has to get himself back out. He's climbed so many vines in his life, he's confident there's nothing that will go wrong. But he only has to make one mistake. [Sky Dollfic]
PERFECTION. This isn't the kind of lynel Legend or Hyrule know, but it is one Wild does. Time doesn't like this: he doesn't like the look of its mace, or anything about what Wild says it can do but the Champion is right that throwing more people into the fray won't make it better. He just has to hope their Champion won't miss a shot. [Wild Dollfic]
BLUE AND WHITE AND GONE. Trapped in a cave system and desperately hoping to find a way out, Twilight, Legend and the blue-garbed Four find an exit with a strange likelike between them and it. Blue goes at it first -- tries, and fails. Twilight has no idea what the fuck they're going to tell Four. [Four Dollfic]
WILL YOU BE THERE. They didn't see Hyrule was gone until it was too late, and when Legend tries to find out if his friend is even still alive, he finds something the Traveller had not yet told them. But that's a problem for when they find him alive. [Hyrule Dollfic]
Side Stories: Doll % Runs A Doll % Run is any story with 5 or more Dolls broken at once.
FINALLY. The Chain is in a dying forest, under a red-and-black sky, with no idea where they are and a destroyed town behind them. The first person they meet has no patience with their ignorance, and when Sky finally recognizes him -- finally realizes what must be going on -- he's stabbed and taken and they can only desperately hope to catch up before worse comes to pass. [Total Party Kill Doll % Run]
DOLL % RUN. Hyrule wakes in his grave, in a place without sunlight, with glittering dust in the air and strange Gerudo witches as their unlikely saviours. Hyrule can wake everyone that's still there... ...But that doesn't include Twilight or Wild. [Zonai Doll % Run]
Side Stories: Dead Dog: Do Not Eat (an LU Serial Killer Twilight AU that has gotten very out of hand bc people won't stop asking for follow-ups [me included])
MIPHA'S GRACE AND THE WOLF, Wild does not like what it implies, to see the wolf he knew in his own time can change into a man. Behaviour that was unremarkable in an animal means something else entirely now. He doesn't know what to do, but he can't just let him hurt people. Can he? Rated E for torture and temporary character death.
A BLESSING AND A CURSE, After Mipha's Grace and the Wolf Twilight invites Wild to go hunting with him for a reprise of where he'd felt he got cut off when he took the Champion to pieces before. Rated E for this dove is very much dead, and you should read the tags.
TIME IS A MERE CONVENIENCE, A mudslide splits the Chain and when Time finally finds somewhere dry to rest, he realizes Wild and Twilight were already there. While he doesn't strictly speaking object to the members of the Chain being involved with each other, something's very wrong with how Twilight's acting. Time hopes he's wrong (but he's very sure he's not.) Rated E for graphic violence, MCD, and non-explicit rape/non-con.
Side Stories: Incompatible Takes
MOTHERHOOD, a slight AU of the Skin & Gold sequence, in which the Chain attempts to see what happened with the Black blooded monsters at the Spirit Temple before they leave. Time does not handle this well. Rated G.
HYRULE DISMEMBERED, slight AU of the events of Link Heart-Eater. Hyrule is taken in exchange for a kidnapped child and tortured by a man who hates him so much he'll work with monsters to get his way. Hyrule can only hope the Chain finds him before the sacrifice finishes... But he's not sure he'll survive this even then. Rated E for graphic violence and temporary character death.
CUT MY THROAT (THE NIGHTMARE), the Chain finds a dead tree in the Breach of Demise -- or, perhaps more rightly, the dead tree finds the Chain and takes its revenge on the Hero of the Sky that killed it so long ago. Warriors won't let Sky be hurt if he can do anything (anything at all) to stop it. Rated E for rape/non-con and graphic medical treatment.
GETTING OUT ALIVE, Time stops Demise ripping Sky out of time to torture him, but his only change to survive is the Fierce Deity Mask... but he doesn't get it on until too late to do anything but suffer the consequences. Rated E for rape/non-con, and traumatic labour.
Backstory Works: (These are General Zelda fics (and some NSFW ones) that are used as backstory for the AU. Some are true in broad strokes but not specifics, eg while my usual general or That Broken Promise works use a high healing factor, LU does not.)
Ocarina of Time/MM: Wages of War, Rage Against That Dying Light, But Not Like This
Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass: Though There Be Fury On the Waves (while this hasn't happened for Wind *yet*, I do still use this as a place and person who exists in his world ala Dark Despair)
Minish Cap/Four Swords/Four Swords Adventures: Scold's Bridle, You Weren't Supposed To Get Hurt,
Hyrule Warriors: Eclipse of the Sun, Silent Guardians, Dulce et Decorum Est, Sleepless Nights, Cigar, In Accordance with Orders,
Link Between Worlds: Defy & Define the Darkness, Reflections of an Unfamiliar Face, Last Night,
Zelda I & II: A New Age,
BOTW: To the Brink of Destruction, Flinch, Bottomless Swamp
Other: Taxation in Hyrule, Son of the Desert Winds,

Alright so this design choice is going to take some explanation and I feel I should have done the designs in a different order but I also really wanted to do Ravio next so I apologize for any confusion. I will explain below before I start the details of Ravio's adventures
EXPLANATION So having played Tears of the Kingdom I figured I wanted the Zonai/Minish to play a larger role in the story instead of showing up and then disappearing, even though they still disappear in the end. So locations that are not Hyrule/Hytopia are now within the "Sacred Realm". The Zonai, and a number of their Minish companions, were trapped initially within a prison of Ganon's corrupted creation (Termina) and were later freed through Goddess intervention, once released they were unable to return to the world of light and thus built new lives. Midna and by extension Hilda and Ravio are the distant descendants of those Zonai. The Twilight Realm Timeline also acts separately from the Hyrule timeline so is not affected by the break caused by Ocarina of Time. Due to this the Twilight realm has interacted with the "Child Timeline" through Twilight Princess as well as the "Downfall Timeline" through Link Between Worlds. Koholint from Link's Awakening is a special case though that I will explain further later
BEFORE THE ADVENTURE Ravio is a guard and representative to the Twilight Realm Kingdom of Lorule, he's traveled and worked to build relations between the Twili Kingdoms of Subrosia, Holodrum and Labrynna. During his travels he's made friends in the different Kingdoms and built a reputation for himself across the Twilight Realm. His companion during these travels has been Sheerow, a descendant of the minish, specifically sky minish, who were trapped by the Corrupted Ganon with the Zonai. Her family has lived with Ravio's and the two have been practically inseparable since Ravio first started walking. Sheerow acts more as a protective older sister from time to time and steers Ravio away from trouble more often then not. When growing up Ravio heard legends of a Divine Beast that had a humanoid form who had helped the Twili Queen at the time save their realm and desired to be a hero just like them.
DURING THE ADVENTURE After building relations with the other kingdoms Lorule receives requests from their neighbors and Ravio is sent to help them. He starts in Holodrum and it's neighboring kingdom Subrosia before heading to Labrynna. On his journey back to Lorule, Ravio's transport is destroyed and he finds himself on an island inhabited by individuals unlike himself. Those on this island explain that the island is called Koholint. Clearing the island of monsters, again creatures that are strange to him and not common to the Twilight Realm, Ravio learns of the "WindFish" a creature sleeping and how Koholint is a land caught in a "dream". Despite knowing what will happen should the "WindFish" wake Ravio defeats the final monster and wakes the "WindFish" thus destroying the dream and when he comes to finds himself back in Lorule with only the memory of the Island as no one else has heard of Koholint or the "WindFish".
After finding himself back at Lorule he tries to return to his duties. Though he starts noticing changes in Hilda's demeanor and personality that worry him and when Yuga steps in Ravio ends up hearing the plan and realizing this is something that he will be unable to fix himself. Recalling the legends past of the Divine Beast and it's world of Origin Ravio sets out to find a way to that World of Legend.
Before leaving he realized that the light from this other world was written in legend to hurt the previous queen so he worked to cover his skin as much as possible to protect himself before he was able to locate the hero. Much of his time in this World of Light was spent in the Prince's old family home, acting as a renter of fine weapons that the Prince was able to use to save his sister and the other's trapped by Yuga, with Sheerow acting as the collector should these weapons be "Misplaced".
AFTER THE ADVENTURE Prince Link and his sister Princess Zelda returned home after Lorule was saved and the gates between their worlds were once again broken. Ravio understood it was probably for the best and tried to ignore the longing for the World of Light. He was later surprised to find that Hilda was working on a new gate between the worlds, explaining it was a replica of an artifact called the "Mirror of Twilight" that the Queen of the past had shattered. Hilda figured that if only a true royal were able to shatter it fully then only a true royal would be able to replicate it. From there Ravio did his best to assist his queen though he was only able to understand so much of the project.
Here is also a close up of Sheerow cause I love her too much to leave her as a small image
