the Lord Jesus is coming quickly!
"For the Lord Himself will come down from Heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God. First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air." (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
Jesus, the Son of God, gave His life and shed His blood for the payment of your sins. by acknowledging your sinful nature, and trusting in Him as the only means of salvation, you're included in this event! For Jesus promised in John 14:2-3, "There are many rooms in My Father's house (..) I go to prepare a place for you (..) When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so you will always be with Me where I am."
God poured out His wrath for our sins onto Jesus' body on the cross; once and for all time (Hebrews 9:28). Therefore we the Church, as the Body of Christ, cannot be here to experience God's Wrath again (1 Thessalonians 5:9). the Tribulation that is coming is the time of God's Wrath; a testing period for those still covered by their sin (Isaiah 26:20-21). but He promised He would take His followers out of the way before it comes (Revelation 3:10). we will be taken to the safe places He has prepared for us.
the time is much sooner that you think! please turn to the Lord while there is still time, He loves you and has done EVERYTHING necessary to provide salvation for you. the Tribulation will be the worst time in human history, and God desires that no one go through it. listen to the still, small Voice that is calling you to repentance. He is calling you home!

365 Promises of God
Day 308 – We Are Raised in Power
It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: (1Co 15:43 KJV)
Read: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Today’s key verse should look very familiar. We unpacked this just yesterday. I’ve pointed our reading to a second section of scripture that covers this momentous event, an event called in many evangelical circles, the Rapture. (here's a rough ai rendition)
Tumblr media
Why in the world would I bother bringing this up again? Well, not just because there are multiple promises embedded in these few verses. Just a few days ago, I ran across a Facebook post where a podcaster was asking for ideas to cover in an ongoing podcast about things the church considers biblical truth, that aren’t in the Bible.
Imagine my surprise when one person suggested the Rapture, because it’s not in there. I spent a good part of my morning doing research on it. And while they are correct that the term ‘rapture’ is not in there, the concept for it is found in many places, and not just these two passages of scripture I’ve covered these last two days. Jesus talks about this event himself in Matt 24, and in Luke 17. Also 1Thes 1:10 and Rev 3:10, 1 Thes 5:2, and 2Pet 3:10.
I pointed these verses out to those questioning the event, but their claims were that the verses mentioned described the destruction of Jerusalem in AD70. My apologies, but that explanation is hogwash. The destruction of Jerusalem happened after an invasion over time, and a 2-year siege. The verses indicated here describe a ‘snatching’, a twinkling of the eye, a thief in the night. Two people are grinding, one is taken, the other is not. Two are sleeping in the same bed, one is taken and the other is not. This describes a worldwide sudden event, very selective and instantaneous. Call it what you want, but I’ll just use the term Rapture. And that sudden event will be one of the most incredible demonstrations of God’s power in all of time.
Recent estimates place the total number of people who have ever lived at around 108 billion. The majority of those souls have been in the last 500 years. In fact, at the time of Christ there were around 100 million people, and by 1500 AD, that number had only grown to around 500 million, while current earth populations is a hair over 8 billion.
Based on best estimates, in 1910 a third of the world population was Christian in name at least over time, so we could expect that there have been about 30B Christians over the ages. Their bodies all long since reduced to ash, or dust, and if there are bones at all they lie all over the globe, even at the bottom of the deepest oceans.
Yet, in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, Jesus is going to raise the dead in Christ and bring their bodies, in whatever form they may be, out of the graves, out of the caves, out of the oceans, even from space if needed.
Even the Mafia’s hiding places will not prevent the Lord of Creation from getting them. Out of concrete parking garages and football stadiums, out of the swamps, from the mass graves of the Civil War and the mass graves from the gulag, from the killing fields and from the unmarked shallow graves in the desert.
These particulate forms and half-rotted cadavers will be gathered and transformed into new and glorified bodies, and the living spirits of the fallen Christians will be reunited with their amazing new bodies. A sea of billions of cheering saints praising God with arms raised. I can just see it. And not just because it’s in my mind’s eye. No, my wife brought a puzzle home with this event on it, and we worked very hard at assembling it. (picture below). It’s a 1000 piece puzzle, and it’s missing a corner because one of our several cats decided to jump up on it when it was half-completed, and cascade it to the floor. Yet we persevered, and here it is.
Tumblr media
(and, well, here HE is! The little devil, not too bothered by a little pet-shaming)
Tumblr media
Yes, dear Christian, we’re going to be raised, and we are going to be raised in power. And it will be GLORIOUS!
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I’m awestruck at the image of your incredible power, that you will demonstrate in THAT Day. Even so, Come Lord Jesus, even today. Amen

When is the end of the age?
Eli Kittim
When is the end of the age? Not where, not how, but when? The New King James Version calls this specific time period “the end of the age,” while the King James Version refers to it as “the end of the world.” Biblical scholars often ask whether the end of the age is a reference to the end of the Jewish age, which came to an end with the destruction of the temple in 70 A.D., or whether it’s an allusion to the end of human history. Given that the signs of the times coincide with this particular age, we must examine whether this is literal language, referring to first century Palestine, or figurative, pertaining to the end-times.
Since “the end of the age” is a characteristic theme of the New Testament (NT), let’s look at how Jesus explains it in the parable of the tares in Matthew 13:37-43 (NKJV emphasis added):
“He answered and said to them: ‘He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!’ “
In this parable, the constituent elements of the end of the age are highlighted, namely, the end-times, judgment day, the wicked cast into the lake of fire, and the end of human history. The key phrase that is translated as “the end of the age” comes from the Greek expression συντελείᾳ τοῦ ⸀αἰῶνος. In a similar vein, let’s see how Jesus explains the eschatological dimension of the parable of the dragnet in Matthew 13:47-50 (italics mine):
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind, which, when it was full, they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away. So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
Once again, in this parable, the end of the age (συντελείᾳ τοῦ ⸀αἰῶνος) is described as taking place at the last judgment, when the righteous will be separated from the wicked, while simultaneously placing emphasis on the end of the world, when “there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
Similarly, in Matthew 24:3, the disciples ask Jesus to tell them two things, namely, when will the coming of Christ and the end of the age take place. In comparison to Matthew 24:3, the book of Acts tells us that the apostles asked Jesus if he will restore the kingdom of Israel at the end of the age (Acts 1:6). This question was asked just prior to his ascension and departure. Historically speaking, Israel was restored in the 20th century, which is one of the signs that ties in closely with Jesus’ coming and the end of the age. Jesus responds in v. 7 by saying, “it is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.” And v. 9 informs us that Jesus’ response is part of his farewell speech. In like manner, the last recorded words of Jesus in Matthew’s gospel (28:18-20 emphasis added) are as follows:
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age [συντελείας τοῦ ⸀αἰῶνος].”
If Jesus promised to be with the disciples until “the end of the age,” and if that age is a reference to first century Palestine, does this mean that Jesus is no longer with those who have long since outlived their first century counterparts? Taken as a whole, this would also essentially imply that the resurrection of the dead, the rapture, the great tribulation, the lake of fire, judgment day, and the coming of Jesus were events that all took place in Antiquity. Is that a legitimate theologoumenon that captures the eschatology of the NT?
We find an analogous concept in the Septuagint of Daniel 12:1-4 (L.C.L. Brenton translation). Daniel mentions the resurrection of the dead and the great tribulation, but in v. 4 he is commanded to “close the words, and seal the book to the time of the end; until many are taught, and knowledge is increased.” Curiously enough, “the time of the end” in Daniel is the exact same phrase that Jesus uses for “the end of the age” in the NT, namely, καιροῦ συντελείας.
As for the biblical contents, given that the exact same language is employed in all of the parallel passages, it is clear that the end of the age is a future time period that explicitly refers to judgment day, the lake of fire, the harvest, and the consummation of the ages. Obviously, it has nothing to do with the time of Antiquity. Not to mention that the parousia is said to coincide with the end of the current world, when everything will dissolve in a great conflagration (2 Pet. 3:10)!

The Global Impact of the Resurrection
By: Brian Chilton, M.Div., Ph.D. | April 20, 2025 Have you thought about the global impact of the resurrection? The pastor of our church sends out daily devotionals through email. On Good Friday, he mentioned that Good Friday has always been a sticking point for him. Although Good Friday is one of the holiest days on the Christian calendar, many operate as business as normal. The same applies to…

Glory in Resurrection
This is another in a series of excerpts from What Every Christian Should Know About the Return of Jesus, released by High Street Press and available at Amazon.com.  The glory we experience now as Christ lives in us, and the glory we experience in death as our souls and spirits ascend into heaven, are partial works of glorification. But full glorification for followers of Jesus takes place when…
