Hi! Love your writing and eagerly wait for each update and chapter!💖 If you have the time, could you maybe update cluster of cores? I’m really curious about how everyone will react to the new child. Is it Dan or one of the others?

Jason stares at Danny. Normally, he wouldn't do something so blatantly rude- unless, of course, the other party deserved it- but usually, the other party wouldn't have told him something like this either.

"You want me to....teach you how to pole dance?" He questions hesitantly, wondering if the alien misspoke and if this would be a perfect opening for him to change his answer. Sadly, that doesn't happen as Danny nods enthusiastically.

He seems more energetic now that his sleeping schedule has been adjusted. Roy has agreed to take some nights off Danny's hands, being the one to spring to his feet whenever a baby cries and Danny sleeps in. As his housemates were stepping back from their work to being parents, Jason picked up the slack and went out every night to defend the city.

The three nights of undisrupted sleep had really brought a healthy change to Danny's overall appearance. (Danny did the weekends, Roy Monday through Wesnday and depending on how tired either one was, they switched Friday night)

Jason wasn't sure what a Daxamite needed to stay healthy, but he was grateful that they at least knew it required the same amount of sleep and eating as humans.

Krytonians needed to be exposed to sunlight to properly do some photosynthesis, but from what Jason had seen of Danny, the alien required to be near his cluster and his children.

If it wasn't for the random bursts of powers that his children did- whenever Dan sneezed, his hair flickered into flames, and Danika kept freezing her blankets when they swaddled her- then no one would ever know they weren't human.

Then again, Danny goes and does things like this.

"I think if I dance and take off my clothes, too, I can help with the household expenses," Danny gushes, looking unfairly eager. Jason slowly turns his head to where Roy is stubbornly staring at the pot on the stove he is stirring. He lets his gaze linger on the side of the redhead's face, willing him to meet his eyes with intent alone, but despite the apparent strain to keep staring at the soup, Roy refuses to look at him.

"Roy told me you're a stripper." Danny carries on innocently. Dani chokes a little on her juice a few feet away, with all grown men snapping their heads in her direction. Lian leans over to pound on her back, which sparingly seems to help as Dani calms down. They watch her for a few more seconds, but she goes back to drinking her juice like nothing happened.

Jason coughs into his hand, pulling Danny back into the conversation as the more petite man narrows his eyes at his daughter. "Roy told you I was a stripper, and you want to be a stripper too?"

Blue—a shade that was definitely not human, at least not without some expensive color contacts—blinks up at him. There is a moment when amusement dances in them, but that feeling is quickly smothered by Danny's glee.

After everything Danny has been through, it's lovely to see how his eyes can still hold that much light. His children will need this, and Jason plans on protecting it.

"Yes. It won't be right away. I have to wait until Dan and Danika are a bit older, but if I start training now as your student, I can really wow the employers when I set out for a job later on." Dannyn chirps while doing a little shimmy of his shoulders, which shakes the little bag at his back. Jason's heart launches as he watches the bag carry the rest of the cluster jerk slightly, and he only bites back a scolding remark about being careful because he thinks Danny knows what his cores can handle.

Still, it doesn't ease his brain from screeching careful with the babies!

"Right," he grunts, trying his damnest to sound normal. Why not do a job with a better work schedule?"

"If I work at night, I can take care of the kids in the day," Danny responds quickly. He lifts his shirt, showing off a tone mid-drift, and rolls his hips.

Roy drops his wooden spoon as Danny carefully goes through some basic belly dancing that Jason had once personally seen Dick teach Tim and Bruce for an undercover mission. He would have been more embarrassed about Danny performing it if Jason wasn't actually trained in multiple stripper routines for his own undercover missions.

Hey, whatever he needs to do to keep the people of Crime Alley safe. Plus, Jason made a killing once that paid for the whole day at the amusement park for Lian's birthday last year. Skip line braces, multiple games and any food Roy or Lian wanted to snack on, all paid on his dime, not Bruce's or Oliver's.

Jason raises a brow, lifting his shirt to show how his hips move. "It needs more of opposite movement. Up one side and slow down the other."

Danny's eyes widen, his hair flickering to white as a lovely green hue overtakes the upper part of his cheekbones. Jason is about to ask him if that is good for his people when a loud clatter and crash has him spinning around. Roy is on the floor, covered in the soup. He's lying flat on his face, one arm bent at a strange angle on his back.

"Holy Whiskers! Roy, are you okay?" Jason yelp,s flinging himself towards the down man. Danny one step behind him as they rush to help Roy up.

His best friend's face is so alarmingly red that Jason has to place the back of his head on his forehead to check for a fever. It doesn't feel too warm, not enough to cause Roy to collapse, but he still drags him to the living room to sit down. Danny goes away for a bit, only to reappear with a glass of water that he forces Roy into drinking.

Roy is a babbling mess of embarrassment, so the two decide to order some pizza instead of remaking the soup he dropped. It wouldn't do to make the poor thing feel worse about it.

Danny sat with the redhead, each man feeding one of the twins a bottle, while Jason went back into the kitchen and cleaned up. He is thankful for the distraction as he wipes down the counters.

He never had to give Danny a yes to his inquiry.

Roy refuses to look them in the eye for the rest of the night, even when the delivery guy turns out to be Duke. His family has been by his house to check in on Danny and Roy far too often. Not only was it putting their secret identities at risk, it was also really annoying to be bombarded with question after question about his house guest.

How is everything, Jay?

Would you happen to need a babysitter?

Can I see the babies?

Do you guys all sleep in different rooms?

Where is Roy's ring? You aren't messing with my friend, are you Jay?

It was exhausting, and he finally snapped at them to leave him alone. It lasted maybe half a day before Tim popped up as an electrician for their neighbors, glancing over the fence at the girls playing in the yard and taking pictures.

He sent them in the family chat caption: Look at my nieces! They thankfully don't have any of Jason's ugly ass DNA, so they came out effortlessly cute <3

His reasoning was that he watched over Danny while he was in a coma, which granted him special privileges for his "nieces." The rest of the family considered it a challenge not to get caught and stopped by in. disguises.

Jason thinks he once saw Alfred pretending to be a cleaning services employee for his other neighbor while taking out the trash. Honestly, the Waynes are so exhausting.

because I wrote a Reverse Robins fic yesterday, I am having many Thoughts™ and said thoughts are about how Tim can never become Red Hood without it being untrue to who he is fundamentally as a character;; but that's already been said by some people, so I wanna talk about what could happen to him if not becoming Red Hood (because that's the most common one I see)

1. Joker Junior

Admittedly the second most common of what happens to Tim in RevRobs aus and not really my favourite, but it is a step above Red Hood because atleast it takes into account something that happened to Tim in one particular version of his time as Robin.

2. Tim dies by Joker's hands

Now I don't really see it happening because the whole set-up that killed Jason was in Ethiopia but assuming that Joker is very determined to kill a Robin, if he were to set it up in Gotham and kill Tim, Talia would save him with the pits. Unlike Jason tho, Ra's would have a personal vested interest in Tim and he would try to do a "swap" of heirs. An exchange since Bruce got Damian, it's only fair that he gets Tim as his heir.

This of course does not last. Tim will escape him once he's got his brain back on. Pit influence might make him angry and more impulsive so be ready for some batshit plans, but he wouldn't kill anyone. I know people like to think Tim's morality is questionable but it actually isn't– he's been one of the Batfam who most adheres to the no-kill rule. Tim will find out he's been replaced and hate it but he will also accept it and just be a Titans focused vigilante again.

3. Jack Drake makes him give up Robin

My personal favourite for how Tim stops being Robin and it ends up in Jason's hands. Towards the end, Jack does accept that Tim can't give up the vigilante life and so after he dies, Tim takes on a new mantle. He's very awkward with Jason because he doesn't know how to treat him and his only point of reference is Damian, which is not a great example for him.

4. Tim willingly passes on Robin to Jason

Okay, hear me out, I know Tim loves being Robin more than anyone in the world and never wants to give it up, but depending on the world set-up being done, this is a totally viable option I can see happening. I also may be a little biased towards having atleast one pair of Robins properly handing over the mantle without any drama or angst for once.

He helps train Jason himself, and continues to work in Gotham with a new identity.

5. Tim gives up Robin due to Brucequest

This one is set a little further in the future but I'm thinking something along the lines of Damian not believing him and giving him an ultimatum of being Robin or being gone and Tim gives it up to go look for Bruce. Jason's already adopted and kinda trained so he ends up becoming Robin. Tim ends up as Red Robin, and the rest is history ig.

Fundamentally, I think Tim cannot become Red Hood because even if he was killed at that point, he wasn't a Wayne. The most he would be is upset that Bruce couldn't save him but he's also very rational and would understand that it's not possible for them to save everyone. Also, I just can't see Tim killing multiple people. Maybe his killer, but no one else. It's just not true to Tim as a person. And, Tim is a very extroverted person who thrives in connections. This boy will come back to life and figure something out for himself because he's got friends.

I have many many thoughts about Tim in a Reverse Robins au, and I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting some more ideas I came up with for how Tim loses Robin.

I also have thoughts about Jason and how he becomes Robin and his death and Red Hood... but this post is already too long dammit;;

A great example of investing vs not investing us in a scene on purpose, I'm gonna use two different shows' examples but you'll follow along regardless:

In The Bear, Carmy promised Sydney he would work on the menu with her but spends time with Claire instead.

In Stranger Things, Mike intends to look for El, who is crying alone somewhere, but instead stops to talk to Will about their relationship.

In the first, we root for Sydney. In the second, we root for Mike and Will. Why?

In The Bear, they tell(show) us "Carmy promised Sydney he'd work with her" then have him spend time with Claire instead. Additionally, we are shown Sydney alone without him and irritated about that throughout. Now, they have made every moment with Claire he is happy and relaxed - something we should be rooting for because we never see him like that - instead recognize a broken promise and stress he is causing someone we care about.

In Stranger Things, we see Mike and Will looking for El together before it comes up in an argument about looking for her that they haven't talked all day and they stop walking, stop looking for her, to argue about why they didn't keep in touch. After this conversation is over, they continue walking to look for her and the camera zooms in to reveal they just walked past the closet she was crying in. But in this scene, they have given us permission to become invested in Mike and Will's conversation by allowing us to temporarily forget about El. In not telling us where she was until after, or even confirming/showing that she was still crying, we were able to treat the scene as if it were just about Mike and Will, dropping the urgency to find her completely and allowing the pause on it to happen.

Had they shown him with Claire then revealed that he had stood Sydney up, or even omitted the clips of her upset with him, we likely would have been able to root for Carmy and Claire.

Had they started the scene with El crying in the closet, not yet having been found, or at any point shown her overhearing the fact that they stopped looking and started talking about something else, we would not have been invested in their conversation at all.

THAT is how they manipulate who you side with. That is how they make you root for who they want you to root for. That is how they, as I say, don't write what you want, but make you want what they write.

So simple, so small: order of clips, inclusion of the affected character or not. And it changes entirely what you thought were your own voluntary desires for how the story goes next.

It's the same situation, it's fascinating to study. One person shirks their responsibilities to someone who needs them to spend time with another love interest. And they got us to root for different people in near identical situations. But not identical shot lists.

THIS is the shit I LOVE to study. How to puppeteer an audience while letting them think they formed their own opinions. AMAZING.
