SaS Devlog #2 - No more goofy ahh farming tool
god bless having a smart friend who can give you pointers on how to make a tool look right in ur hand
Now comes the time to see if I can make it function.
I also started trying to see if I could make a part where, essentially, it "flips a coin" to determine whether a tile will become tillable grass or stone path. it's not working as I speak. I'll tinker some more with it, but for now, here's what I have. (Yes I'm using EventBlocks, I gen can't make any sense of regular scripting.)

Grapplesphere Rewrite #1
I have mainly been posting on my Twitter account about the development of my Roblox game Grapplesphere, but in an effort to use this site more, I would also like to try and post about it on here as well.
I recently began a rewrite of the game not only to improve the game's code but to also iron out some gameplay issues that people had. One of my biggest gripes with the original game's controls was that moving from a standstill would result in the player moving off course slightly, so you wouldn't initially travel in a straight line to where you wanted to move.
In the footage above, I remedied this by moving away from a LinearVelocity / BodyVelocity object to using a VectorForce object instead (as well as calculating the force differently, lol). The result is movement that feels a lot more responsive!
Now I just need to get jumping and grappling done 😔

Blaring Builders : 20.9.2023
So far, the game has been in a *month-ish* of development. It's nowhere near a finalized state. BB is approximately 40%-ish done.
How's is going?
The game so far features a temporary lobby and map. All of the mechanics are mostly finalized. I am although planning to redo both the map and lobby as well as the GUI.
This is not that much of a recent screenshot, but mostly, the GUI is the same.
Clearly, i didn't have a theme for the game (emphasis on didn't). I've decided to finally organize a consistent theme, which I'll not share yet (mostly because i am not that confident in the idea). One major thing is that I'm going to add ID cards as a mechanic of the game. Sort of like a passport/id thing. Here's a mock-up.
It may or may not be either in the corner or part of a custom leaderboard.
Also, the GUI redesign is gonna make it so the ui looks more simpler, i don't want it to look extremely busy and annoying. I'm also removing the dash feature (mostly because i can't add it to mobile after like 4 tries).
Another big feature is a map system (but not in the way you'd think). All the maps will be separated into different places (same lobby, different game map). So far, there will be 3 maps + more to come.
Is there any news on the release date?
I wish i could release it around October, but knowing my schedule, that will be borderline impossible. It will most definitely be released this year with at least a single map (or 2).
What about the OST?
Until i can actually hire a musician, I'm using music from Sonic Xtreme (canceled Sonic game) with, of course, full credit to the composer.
