In rockman.exe Axess to Beast+, rockman.exe used the soul unison system.

However, there is a slight problem. That being certain forms were omitted.

Although Rockman.exe used MetalSoul, ProtoSoul, WoodSoul, AquaSoul/Cross, NumberSoul, WoodSoul, and Junk Soul from Blue Moon. As well as the fact he used Red sun's souls of SearchSoul, RollSoul, FireSoul, WindSoul, GutSoul and ThunderSoul. So he used all 12 souls of battle network 4. However for Battle Network 5, he only used GyroSoul, SearchSoul, ProtoSoul and NumberSoul. Leaving out the more powerful forms of KnightSoul, MagnetSoul, ShadowSoul, TomaHawk Soul (He used Tomawhawk cross later in beast+), NapalmSoul, ToadSoul, MeddySoul, and ColonelSoul.

And for the last game of 6. He only used Tomahawk Cross and Aqua Cross. He did not use HeatCross, SlashCross, TenguCross, EraseCross, ChargeCross, GroundCross, DustCross and ElecCross.

Meaning he couldn't use their beastcrosses, alongside the fact that he couldn't use their default forms

Do you know of any reason why they couldn't include all 34 forms in the anime? Or do you think it would've just turned into Megaman squad wiping everything?

Sorry for the delay, I was busy trying to get the bank to accept to lend me some money. Apparently, "I pinky swear I can reimburse you in roughly the amount of years I have lived up to this point" is not enough of a good reason for them to give in.

A lot of things happening in-games are not covered by the anime: some not necessarily important (side quests), some impossible to implement (two versions of the same game contradicting with each other, so a choice has to be made), some quite important plot points they somehow though were skippable (why on Earth would they remove the twins being twins??? why???)... and some because they can't cover everything. I am no expert when it comes to how animes are written (my domain of expertise is, ironically, the mechanical properties of rocks… Not mechanics of Rockman) but, when it comes to mmbn, each episode roughly works as a stand-alone while also slowly moving the scenario forward except for climax. Each of them has its own short story within the main story, so introducing those game mechanics asks for the scenario to take time to introduce them one by one (two per episode could work if handled well, but as an exception). Soul unison is used from Axess to Beast, Beast+ being a little different from the previous seasons and having introduced beastcrosses too, so there's 127 episodes (and a movie) to introduce them. If the bible doesn't lie, I counted 23 soul unisons, so about one for 5 episodes, which is perfectly doable. 

Except that, according to the wiki (which I'll as all knowing bc it's too late to double check), Stream started airing before the BN5 games so it was probably co-written with Team Protoman and finished months before Team Colonel was… And coincidently, knight soul, shadow soul, tomahawk soul, toad soul and colonel soul are exclusive to this second game 🙂

So either they opted to slow the pace by skipping some soul unisons, couldn't include them because their designs weren't ready or simply didn't want any spoilers. Beast doesn't focus on soul unisons anymore, so while they could have taken some time to include them in this season, the plot wasn't helping (bc Beyondard and Zoanoroids).

As for the cross system, it's only introduced in Beast+ (then again, Beast had other things going on and mastering Beat out was kind of a milestone for that). Which is 21 eps. Of 10 minutes instead of 20. So about 10 episodes of previous seasons. With 10 Beastcrosses, the pace would have probably been even more all over the place than it already was so I doubt they could have included them all (knowing there's also crossfusion, Cache, and probably at least one other plot point that I forgot, yeah…).

But then again, all of that is just a theory, a game theory. So who knows the real reasons?

Twins

An idea for an AU of Rockman.EXE Access and Stream. (I don’t know much about how Yuriko or Needleman are in the anime, so I’m basing their characterization on guesswork and the few moments of them I saw.)

It’s a hassle, being on probation, under house-arrest, and under constant watch, but it could be a lot worse.

For all the security measures her little sister has to run through - which she isn’t allowed to talk about but Yuriko guesses that there at least metal scanners involved -, Mariko is still allowed to visit her. Visit her daily. (How did that happen? Yuriko isn’t about to question the blessings that she gets. But still- she used to be a criminal, destroyed public and private propriety, and endangered countless lives, digital and analogue alike. It feels unreal that she is allowed to interact with Needleman, even through a screen, and with Mariko like this, even after six weeks of her new situation.)

And her little sister does just that, making her way to her her temporary cell every day to spend several hours with Yuriko. Sometimes she brings along a little gift, hand-made and simple as according to the rules. Ridiculously, sometimes they are gifts from her students and their friends or relatives, some of them belonging to the people Yuriko endangered in the past.

Just two days ago, Mariko, with a mischievous grin, handed her folded paper and urged her to open it. Inside scrawled a messy, bright picture across the sheet depicting what seemed to the two of them. It was signed in blocky, big kanji on the lower left.

“A gift from Chisao-kun,” Mariko explained, revealing the exact name. “He’s Dekao-kun’s little brother. He was quite cross when he heard about you, but calmed down when I explained that you protected me and that you regret what you did.”

That amused grin quirked up fully. “Actually, nee-san, he complimented that you must be a good bigger sibling because the older sibling always protects the younger. And that it’s unfair that you and I can’t live together. Of course, as he said, you’re not as great as his big brother.

“I agreed to disagree with him.” Mariko’s soft smile almost stole her breath away. “He’s right that Dekao-kun is a good big brother. But to me? You’ll always be the best. My biggest hero, nee-san.”

Yuriko dragged her little sister forward and buries her face against her shoulder. She doesn’t know what she did to deserve this, that people who don’t even know her do these things, but she is so, so happy.

It didn’t occur to her before Mariko and Needleman met in a casual, non-hostile environment, but she’s glad that her sister and her partner get along so well, bickering and all. Between the two of them, she can manage the frustration about her situation quite well, although that doesn’t stop her restlessness. Sure, she doesn’t lack any commodities and her living space is quite spacious with its own bath and little training corner, but she’s still technically in prison.

So that is what her family does every day. Usually Mariko and she train together to vent any frustrations, switching between the thread mill and boxing during which Needleman monitors and spots them. (Another allowance made.) He and Mariko snip at each other like it’s a contest - he about her supposed clumsiness, she about his too long legs and arms.

Sometimes they gang up on her for teasing; sometimes they pull her into their arguments that are not arguments. Sometimes it’s just to complain for complaining’s sake. Like about the idiocy of terrorist organizations, the weather, the current mind-numbing TV program...

After that, Mariko starts cooking lunch or dinner, depending on the day and schedule, while Yuriko lounges in the living room and reads a honest-to-real paper book. The couch is facing the entrance to the kitchen. But other than that, they are in their own mind for the time.

Both of them can hear each other perfectly well, anyway- The clatter of cutlery and cooking ware. The shuffling of paper and humming.

(”I’m sorry, nee-san, but I don’t want scare the fire department a second time.” - “For once I agree with her.” The traitor sounds so cheeky.) Mariko takes care of the groceries, inputting the list in the terminal that serves as the only connection to the outside of her apartment. The government surveils the terminal, of course, but whoever is in charge, they take looking after and over their charges very seriously. Whenever Mariko sends off a list, the fresh food is in the automatic fridge the next day.

They talk so much then during meals. Actually talk, no just vent, because they’ve relaxed and it’s really nice. For some reason Needleman likes so sit on Mariko’s shoulder a lot when he projects himself outside. Yuriko swears if he could manifest, he and Mariko would constantly poke each other.

Often they all migrate then to the couch where she curls against Yuriko and they watch said awful TV program.

Sometimes another virus attack in the physical world makes it to the news. Yuriko rubs against Mariko’s shoulders when they tense. Needleman leans closer where he sits on the couch’s back. But thankfully today nothing like this makes the news- She just saw Netto-kun this morning, off to visit his father in SciLab.

Though something else worries Mariko.

“He has become quite distracted in class since last Friday. Not like his usual distraction where he dozes, although he has become better about that recently.” She plays with a lock of her hair, undone for once. “We learned he’s a kinesthetic learner, so- as an example... Ah yes, he now programs and designs his own shapes and forms in mathematics to understand geometry.

“But he’s so quiet in breaks now. He mostly talks to Rockman or stares at his PET for minutes without noticing. And Rockman himself is similarly subdued.” She sighs with a frown.

“Netto-kun said he’d think about it when I offered he could talk to me. At least it’s not any net-savior business, but he still looked strangely at me.”

Yuriko squeezes her shoulder. “You’re a great teacher but you can only do so much. If the kid’s ready and wants, he’s gonna talk to you. And if not? He’s got a great support network so you don’t need to worry so much.”

Isn’t that strange to talk about the kid she used to fight not to long ago in such a mundane context now?

She seriously needs to stop comparing the past with the present. It’s a bit too depressing, and she can’t change things anyway.

“You’re probably right, nee-san. But as you said, I’m his teacher so I worry for him. It’s only natural.” She yawns, pulling her legs up to the cushions as she leans into Yuriko. “Sorry...”

“Sounds like somebody pulled another all-nighter.” Needleman snickers. “You’re gonna have eye bags like raccoons soon enough if you keep going like that, Mariko-san.”

“Oh shut it, you walking pin cushion,” she grumbles.

“I’m a walking needle cushion, thank you very much.”

“Whatever you say, Needleman-san...” Yuriko must be really tired because she snorts at their antics. That, and because Mariko never uses such rude language except towards the netnavi.

Soft beeping echoes in the living room.

Yuriko blearily stares up the ceiling, not understanding at first what she’s hearing or seeing. She rubs her eyes, shifting under her sister’s weight on her shoulder. Somehow they both have ended lying on the couch, Mariko firmly attached to her shoulder and holding one of Yuriko’s hands with her own.

The digital clock shows that it’s 5:26 pm. They slept... almost two hours? Groaning, she switches the TV’s blabbering off.

The beeping persists.

“Needleman?” she whispers. She doesn’t want to move too much and wake Mariko.

“Nnngg?”

“Is there a mail on the terminal?” The holographic screen flashes up as he remotely accesses the device. (The government is making many allowances, but they’ve made it clear that Needleman allowing direct usage of the terminal is not one of them.) Indeed, the mail icon instantly pops into existence and starts blinking. She blinks as well. Mails aren’t exactly rare for her between her long-distance therapy sessions, Mariko’s messages, and updates on her probation.

But usually the source isn’t one Dr. Hikari Yuichiro, either.

I thought that meme of Shadow Milk Cookie would fit with my OCs Mini and Osmalnio. Also, I remembered when I did some drawing of them based on a screenshot of RockMan.EXE Stream where Osmalnio fails because "He doesn't have arms!". In the next drawing, he only need hands and he could finally catch Mini inside his world O_o

Pensé que ese meme de la Galleta Shadow Milk encajaría con mis OCs Mini y Osmalnio. Además, recordé que cuando hice algún dibujo basado en un screenshot de RockMan.EXE Stream donde Osmalnio falla porque "¡Él no tiene brazos!". En el siguiente dibujo, él solo necesitaba manos y finalmente pudo atrapar a Mini dentro de su mundo O_o
